Morning all,
It’s tough going isn’t it……
But, only a few more days before the Transfer Window officially opens and only then should we be judging the club on their intent.
As many fans have said before, it’s easy for the clubs who have ‘sugar daddies’, as they can afford to spend big, well, more like they can afford to pay over inflated prices for players. Just look at how much Manchester City have already paid out.
£30 million for Fernandinho??
That really is a lot of money for a 28 year old Brazilian isn’t it? One who didn’t even make the bench for his country last night.
Is that the kind of deal Arsenal fans would like to hear announced? Not me, that’s for sure!
A £23 million deal for Fellaini – well that would be the kind of deal I’d love us to make and funny enough, the rumour mill went into overdrive yesterday, suggesting that deal could indeed be done. (Yeah right!)
Ok, he’s a bit spikey at times but so was Patrick Vieira. With that kind of attitude came respect. Respect from others and I don’t mean team-mates, I mean from the opposition and that’s something we haven’t seen for many a year.
Mind you, I think sometimes, that ‘respect’ was really ‘hatred’ – especially from the Neville sisters!
Another huge rumour is that a deal for Higuain is also pretty much done. Now that is another really big ‘Yeah right’!
Moving on….
Andre Santos!!
That cheeky lump has made it clear that he doesn’t want to be at Arsenal:
My loan deal is over,It was six months long and now I am returning. Gremio had an agreement with Arsenal and I have to return.
I wanted to stay. Gremio were fair regarding everything. I felt well there and I wanted to win a title before leaving.
Unfortunately there is no deal and I had to return to Arsenal.
Hopefully, he will never really return, in fact I hope he is one of a number of players who are yet to be shown the exit route.
One deal that did get signed and sealed yesterday was the marriage of Theo Walcott and Melanie Slade. The grand event took place at a castle in Florence…..
Congratulations to them both – hope Theo has a prenup..! 😉
No gifts were given as the happy couple requested donations only, some of which will go to the Willow Foundation, set up by Bob Wilson. If you don’t know the charity, it helps seriously ill 16 to 40-year-olds. The remaining will go to Macmillan Cancer Support after Melanie’s sister Sarah was diagnosed with kidney cancer at 16.
Finally, good new re Jack Wilshere – The Daily Mirror reports that he’s had his operation and he’ll be fit to start training with the rest of the squad on July 4th.
Shame the official website don’t give us updates on things like this…..
That’s it for another day, have a good one and Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad’s out there…
morning rico,
great news about jack,
a couple of decent signings and i think we could really push for something big next year.we seem to be on the fringe for to long now.
just my sick head being optimistic!
Morning Mg and all, make that 4/5 and you could be right…
Up arsenal wenger pls sign player
i wonder if all this talk about jack back in training just another excuse not to buy.just like diaby being a new signing last summer.
Good Morning Lady and Gentlemen.
Have we signed Bingo Bongo yet?
Good post Rico.
That should make him fit just in time for the 4 internationals in September and October. So we need someone to back up the midfield until November at least. Congrats to the happy couple , were Hello magazine there ? If so probably not by invite. Now that’s over hope he gets on with his job at The Arsenal.
I doubt it Mg as he was playing when the season ended, it wasn’t an injury just a pin replacement i think..
Morning Devil, not yet as far as I know and thanks 😉
My brother nearly does not kill a bird. We have heard of phantom signings in the past only to be told stories of how every arrangement was in place to sign the player but for small details that made the deal ‘fell through’ in quote. So they can start the same sad or merry go round. For true gooners our fingers are crossed.
Come on guys lets be realistic here we are almost certain not to sign any kind of player over 5 mill you know wenger he will purchase a few cheap youngsters and that’s it. He really surprised me last summer with three decent additions but this summer I doubt it.
Good post Rico
I hope so too Potter, I thought it was nice to read that OC jetted to Italy on easyjet. Some wouldn’t…
Also pleased that it was a donation day, what’s the point in giving gifts to those who can afford anything so well done Theo and Mel!
I cant believe all arsene has to do is sign fellaine, higuian, rooney, williams and a right back and we have a trophy.
morning devil & potter
Morning all.
Adah, things have to change at some stage and I personally am going to wait until July before judging Ivan’s recent promises..
Kosta, Think you are being a tad harsh on the £5 million comment, just last summer goes against that. Giroud, Santi and Podolski cost a lot more than that and so did Monreal in January…
Anyway, I don’t always believe a price tag determines a great player, the quality of that player counts for more…
Morning Scott….
Psky, why do we need a right back at this moment in time, we have Sagna and Jenkinson..?
thats all good, bigup to all gooners
We’re not sure of Sagna’s future,Rico
Morning everyone, congrats to the teos, why can’t we be patient and let the window open and judge the club after then.
Gud morning fans, Mr wenger u should stop fooling us we want to see feliani in the square.
We all know ARSENAL loves to do things officially and likes to surprise us.
I know Xr’s but right now he is an Arsenal player – if he goes, then yes, we may need a new right back, but I personally believe that Jenks will replace him. Rightly so imho….
I am Pryce 😉
Yennaris and Bellerin are close too,Rico
rico can you see tommy v being at the club next season because i cant.
Now this is a real winger………….
French newspaper Le Parisien has learned that Arsenal are considering a summer move for Lille winger Dimitri Payet.
The France international has largely impressed since joining les Dogues two years ago and he is widely tipped to leave for greener pastures in the summer.
While Marseille have made the 26-year-old one of their top targets, Le Parisien reports that Arsenal have joined the race as well.
The Gunners always search for reinforcements in French Ligue 1 and they have been impressed with Payet’s performances this season.
With a £70 million transfer kitty at his disposal, Arsene Wenger is expected to make a move on the experienced midfielder in the summer transfer window.
Dimitri Payet has enjoyed his most successful season up to date, registering 12 goals and 11 assists in 38 Ligue 1 fixtures.
France boss Didier Deschamps also recognized the player’s potential, with Payet playing full 90 minutes in international friendlies against Uruguay and Brazil.
Even more reason to suggest we don’t need to replace Sagna if he goes Xr’s
Mg, I wouldn’t be surprised if he left, especially if we do sign Williams – which I hope we do.
And don’t we lack one of those Devil, we are long overdue a ‘real winger’…
D money 70million pound wat re do to do?
would love williams,rooney and fellaini.
i think if we get rooney its because he wants to play football and not just the money.
3 pl players
And Keep TV05
would any 1 take ribbery?
Those three would be great to start with… 😉
xr!s tommy does not want to be at the club.
dont understand this drop in form, especially for the whole season.
i personally think he was pI88ed that VAN PUSSY left.
he definitely should not me captain he is suppose to lead by example,,did not see much of that last season
TV has vowed to saty and fight for his place, we’ll see what happens…
Don’t think Ribbery would want to move to us Mg..
Morning all,
Does Wilshere still have the pins and screws in his ankle? The report I read said they were replacing them, not removing them, but unsure if that’s correct. Hopefully removing, or i expect jack to be treated with kid gloves until they come out.
Fellaini – £23mill – Wages – £110k per week.
Higuain – £25mill – Wages – £150k per week.
Cesar – ? Free ? – Wages – £80k per week (I believe that’s what he’s on at QPR).
Those 3 would see us challenging and wouldn’t cost the earth. I’d be happy with that, anybody else?
Fabiansky also got married yestaday an podolsky was their
Hi Lewis, I too read it was just a replacement pin…
Still think we’d need a couple more – a winger and defender..
Morning Rico. Another good post. You have me all excited now. I am convinced that Wenger is going to spend big and that the good times are just around the corner. 🙂
I didn’t know that Fabianski got married yesterday, congratulations to him too…
Morning Adam, Thank you and I am pleased to hear that. It’s nice to know I have cheered someone up 😉
Adam
Yes Rico. I have been getting all my bunting ready to decorate the front of my hovel as the new signings are announced. I may have to go to see the doctor so he can give me something to calm me down. I have Arsenal Rumours on auto refresh every 23 nanoseconds because, as you know, they are my personal Bible.
I believe the Higuain, Fellaini and Rooney deals have already been done and we are just waiting for Julius Ceasar to arrive so we can have a pair of shorts made that will fit him. The future is bright Gooners everywhere. Rico, Lee and Kev have convinced me.
You are correct Rico as I stated in my earlier comment he did do well in last summer in signing giroud, podolski and santi (who I’ve come to love watching) but its just disappointing to hear another club has stolen a great player from under our noses. Like look at hazard we were so close to signing him and then moneybags Chelsea came along and pretty much bought him off us. Then mata as well we were unwilling to meet the asking price by 2 mill then, guess who Chelsea come and pay the extra 2 mill and we are left looking like a bunch of idiots.
At last Adam, finally you can see the light… Whereas before, you thought it was just some old toad with a torch.
Kosta, in order for a player to be stolen from under our noses, we have to be 100% sure that Arsene Wenger wanted to sign him in the first place.
I strongly suspect that you, like me and all other fans read the stories in the news, but that is all they are, stories. Stuff made up by lazy journo’s.
Talking of which. The Daily Star reckon we are favourites to sign Nani….
ha,the indian waiter is on the way!
I do not gamble, however a chance encounter at a business dinner has made me 100% sure that the deal for Higuain is done and so I have bet £60 at 3-1, £10 was free as it was my first bet. I have been told that I should have paid tax first…..still I hope to win a few bob….watch this space.
Also in the Daily Star….
TOTTENHAM star Gareth Bale has SIGNED for Real Madrid for £76.5m, a self-proclaimed FIFA agent has claimed
But the Spanish ‘agent’ Francois Gallardo has been dismissed as a fantasist and an attention-seeker by internet critics.
“Real Madrid has signed Bale for €90m. The signing is closed from this week but Real Madrid wait to make it official to have a new coach announced,” Gallardo said.
“I have information and I assure you that Gareth Bale is already player of Real Madrid.”
However, Gallardo has a history in revealing unreliable transfer news.
He last year claimed that John Terry was set for Valencia – and that he was negotiating the deal.
Of course, it never happened.
Gallardo claims on his LinkedIn account he is a FIFA agent – but FIFA haven’t licensed agents since 2001.
Wake up Arsenal board, buy for us the loyal fans good players that will deliver as rightly stated here. The kind of pressure we were exposed to later part of last season were unnecessary. It was God that Rescured Arsenal due uncle Adebayor’s comment against his former team. He has been punished for that silly comment. Wake up Arsenal management, wake up Wenger, spend and spend wisely.
Good luck there Mickey Gooner….
Allegedly Nani is priced at 8m…takers?
no-no- and no
macca have reported that we have made a E30 mill bid for higuain?????
Useroz, Not for me thanks… He’s too hit and miss.
Mg, I read that too about Higuain…
the only thing is their a RAG newspaper, are they any better than the sun over here??
You should know Mg, you sometimes live over there don’t you??
I would say they are worse than the Daily Mail.
yep brother and sister them 2 rico.
i think im going to just look at afc website till august 31st,
cant mix guinness and the transfer window.
no good for the blood pressure
That was one hell of a dinner for Father’s day. Had my Pa/Ma over and also the in-laws.
Had to pay them for the constant delicious plates they give spoil me rotten with all year round.
have a great day every 1
of out for a liquid lunch.
be good
If wenger sign Haguain and Fellani am okay with that. Andre Santos should be released asap.
2nd Sept this window Mg 😉
Nice Devil….
interesting rico,
could this be a good omen as its my birthday.;))
Twitter:
You Are My Arsenal @YouAreMyArsenal 32m
Latest betting: #Arsenal 5.2 Fav on Rooney 4.5 Fav on Fellaini 10.11 Fav on Higuain 1.3 Fav Cesar 1.3 Fav Ash Williams
I doubt it, in any case, players will be signed by then if they are going to be …..
Who else loves gervinho->our best winger for me.Dont know why he gets all the stick he’s certainly less frustraiting than walcott, podolski and giroud .The thing i like about gerv is he’s fearless and ull never see him hide in a game even if he misses a sitter against bradford.
Popping off for a couple of hours, later folks….
Don’t Rico. You are deliberately teasing me now. 🙂
Not me livin, I think the total opposite….
😛 Adam
I still wonder if Man. City really negotiated Fernandinho’s deal. I don’t even think that if he had a buy-out clause,it would be that much
hello everyone!
I don’t want Rooney!
Fernandinho is the player we miss
A 28-year old midfielder can only give you 2-3 years of active service in most cases
Go bk to 4-4-2 this is wen we was win trophies so buy to good strikers and to defenders and one midfielder and play 4-4-2 and we win trophies easy as that
yes, but if the profits in those 2-3 years are reach it will be a good deal. A cycle has normally, three years long.
Now this is a good larf……. 😆
Manchester City FC believes that Scout7, its online performance analysis system, has been hacked, and has brought in ‘computer espionage experts’ to discover what has happened.
A report in today’s Sunday Mirror suggests that a rival Premier League club is to blame for the infiltration of the system which holds detailed scouting reports on every player who has been targeted both home and abroad.
An investigation into the hacking, which could compromise deals and reveal information, is currently underway.
A Premier League chief scout told Sunday People Sport: “The scouting industry as a whole is a fairly small one.
“That means of course that clubs do sometimes know which players are being checked out and by which clubs.
“Having someone else – especially a rival – access that information and see which players you are looking at, which players you may buy and which ones are being monitored over a defined period would be seen as catastrophic.”
It has been suggested that both professional and personal details of candidates were accessed.
…re Malaga gooner: ribery has signed a new deal at Bayern. I am not sure if I would go for both Rooney and higuain, felaini or Wanyama absolutely,Williams, again not sure,I’d rather some younger option…but if its at good price then why not, cesar is a no brainer…apart from that its really slow news and I think it will be till the transfer window is officially open
Depends on who has done it Devil,
Mr. Wenga should sign Rooney instead of Higuain.
Afternoon all, Shame about Santos, suprised how his loan club wouldn’t have placed a bid for him if he really wanted to win them a trophy, Had he tried harder to win a trophy here he would still have been in the frame, sadly the only trophy he could win is who ate all the pies. Nice one Rico 🙂
I feel that its Maureen Yo Potter. Or the red half of Manure.
I would be surprised to see its someone of AFC staff.
You should have read the jokes and comments that were flying on the web about it.
ornstein saying our no1 target is higuain and we are after a cam and a dm,defenders wont be bought unless some 1 leaves
Hello all,….
hey rico
Sorry to those just out of moderation…
Any news Mg?
ornstein thinks hig is our no1 target.
im not sure about him,i get the impression south americans are not loyal..1 good season and city will come knocking, not sure if its a good idea,,would prefer rooney
i think tommy rosicky could be off,,why would we buy a cam if he was staying
had my weekly raost beef and 5 pints feel very relaxed now.
nice evening playing on line poker and a bit of chat on here..love it,,ha
Off to the pub later, I would have difficulty with Rooney still haven’t got over his cheating at old toilet.
All guess work Mg..
I’d forgive him Potter if he scored the winner for us against them.. And a few other sides.
we had many a cheater at the club over the years potter.
when rooney scores the winner against the lot down the road all will be forgiven..
a player will be most dangerous when he has something to prove..
just my take
2 true rico,,does any 1 really know whats going on.
i just have that feeling we will surprise every 1 this window.
and then i woke up,,ha
It was those 5 pints MG>
ha potter,,the demon drink!
the cats go running when im on it.
Have Real Madrid appointed a manager yet?
football espana are saying madrid reps are in quatar right now trying to tie up a deal.
the big question for me is who will be psg manager next season.
WENGER???
I actually believe we will make two top signings and 2/3 that will make our squad deeper…
who do you think the 2 top signings will be
No chance of Wenger going there Mg, he’s staying put…
That is like asking me the winning lottery numbers..
The only reason I think we will make a top signing is down to what Gazidis has said. He’d look a prize prat if we end up signing a few risk players..
And there will be a outcry….
i think if kroenke still has the club he will stay,he has never been under any pressure from an arsenal board.
he is not a fan of usmanov.
usmanov wants to win at any cost in anything he throws money at
.i just do not see him at arsenal if there is a take over
sorry i meant who would you like
rico do you think there will be a take over bid
i get the impression gazidas is sick of saying there is money.
Rooney
Capoue/Fellaini
I’d also like us to get Belhanda..
the 4 of them would be nice:(greedy)
but thats what top clubs have ;STRENGTH IN DEPT..
thats the 70mill budget spent well.
i believe we could afford to spend over 130mill this window.
were the emirates not suppose to pay a couple of years to us this may??
joe kinnear appointed director of football at newcastle.and will have the final say on transfers…
lmfao
But that’s what we should be doing Mg….
Hi Rico. When is Rooney arriving?
Hi Adam, yesterday I read 😉
please and please arsenal board help us we fans give us srong teams.
hes on his way from david dein house in whetstone.(if he still lives up there)
if only!!ha
Come on England 😛
23 off of Jimmy? No way surely….
they will say we were tampering
Arsenal may be boring, but the England cricket team are keeping me going….
What’s the ‘we’ Mg, you are in Ireland and Spain…. 😉
Oh, and again, don’t believe what is written in the paps, Giles has already put that allegation to rest!

I must go.. Night…
Adam, keep this to yourself mate, but I had Rooney, Fellaini and Higuain in the back of my cab today. I picked them up at Heathrow, and then i drove them all out to London Colney.
I last saw them all talking to Wenger, but keep it zipped, or else I won’t get my Fiver off of Rico…
Morning Lee…..
Hiya Kev.
I just told everyone in Oz about your passengers.
Morning Kev, your secret is safe mate!
morning campers.
Hola…
Shame Justin Rose supports that lot down the road but, Well done to him for winning The US Open…
And to England for beating New Zealand in the cricket.
Now let’s hope Arsene signs a few top players and beats deadline day..
Morning Ak, Lee, Mg and Scott
so the kosh is on the way out according to the papers.
i hope the club turn around and tell any 1 to f-off,he has 4 years left on his contract.
lets see do the board crumble “again’,,OR WILL SEE THE ARSENAL THAT CLAIMS IT CAN COMPETE
morning rico
Cant see us selling Kos…
caught off side now say we have a budget of 80 mill..
next week it will be a 100 mill.
must be true then ,,ha
I strongly suspect there is more than £100 million available already….
Will it be used efficiently though??
From an Everton site…
Arsenal have emerged as somewhat surprising favourites to land Marouane Fellaini but are they prepared to finally put their short arms in their long pockets and cough up for a quality player and if so would he even want the move to the Emirates?
Reports in the press this week say Arsene Wenger is keen to sign the Blues midfielder but is reluctant to match Fellaini’s release clause of around £23/24 million. After being linked with Chelsea for what seems like ages, then Manchester United, followed by two Serie A clubs Napoli and Juventus, it is Arsenal that are now the ones who are supposedly in pole position to get the 25 year old.
In my opinion, and with all due respect, Fellaini could get a better move than Arsenal and I think if the Gunners do officially launch a bid then we will see other clubs rival them. It might be a game of transfer chess as managers and chairmen wait for their rivals to make the first move, but I can’t see Fellaini opting for a move to Arsenal over Chelsea or United, can you?
I like Arsenal fans; they are up for a good debate, the majority of them talk sense and many of them dislike Liverpool. But, is their club going to win the league next season? I don’t think so. Will they win the Champions League? I doubt it. Have they won anything recently? Nope. Before anyone jumps the gun and says ‘will Everton’ to any of those questions, I know we won’t, and I know we won’t anytime soon too. But if Fellaini is ambitious and wants to win silverware, surely a move elsewhere would make more sense to him.
I don’t want to see any of our star players leave but in all honesty I’d be surprised if Felli was at Goodison Park next season. The reason I am pondering his potential new employers is because I was surprised to read of Arsenal’s apparent interest and if anything I expected it to be a fight between Man United and Chelsea for his signature, and maybe one club from abroad, say PSG. I am trying to look at it from the players perspective and maybe Fellaini would just be happy to finish fourth just to play in the CL with Arsenal? Maybe other clubs won’t show any interest in him and he will only have Arsenal trying to sign him? Who knows.
When Arteta left, I wasn’t really surprised it was Arsenal he was going to; he was never going to get a move to United or anyone above the Gunners. But with Fellaini, you have a player who could probably play in any of the top sides in Europe and he was unstoppable at times last season. He is younger than Arteta, has blossomed into one of the best midfielders in the Premier League since arriving in England and his market value is much more too. He would influence any side and he is a great asset to have, I for one hope he stays at Everton but I just can’t see it happening.
If it is Arsenal or whoever that sign him then they need to stump up enough money for him. I hope any bidding clubs don’t test the water and hope Everton will accept less than his so-called release clause because that would mean we could end up getting less money than he is worth. In this transfer fee day and age, he is definitely worth more than £20 million, taking into account he is now experienced in the Premier League, an international with Belgium, his age and his contract length at Goodison Park. Whether or not Everton will receive his full valuation remains to be seen.
I am holding out some slight hope that Fellaini sees his future with us but if he doesn’t, I can live with that and Everton is more important to me, we’ll move on. In the meantime, if any potential suitors like Arsenal hold out any real hopes of signing the Belgian, they either need to put up or shut up or we face another two months of pointless speculation.
That’s a sad, but 100% true article Lee….
New Post up
Yes we nid a decent players but never d less mr wenger shud spent wisely.
