David Villa still linked, Theo Walcott contract talks & the OUT list is growing….

Morning all.

I know we shouldn’t believe all that is written but….

We can hope that some of its true can’t we?

In this case, its newspaper talk about Andrey Arshavin, Marouane Chamakh, and Johan Djourou.

Suggestion is that the little Russian has rejected all advances made by Reading and instead he could head off to PSV Eindhoven on loan. Dick Advocaat is their manager and I’m sure Arshavin would love to have a reunion with his old international boss!

Lille have joined the long list of clubs who are keen to give Chamakh a chance to resurrect his career. Another option is West Ham.

Hannover 96 president Martin Kind has confirmed that talks over signing Johan Djourou have taken place. A loan seems to be the initial idea but who knows, if the club let him go cheaply, he may well get a permanent deal.

Lastly on the ‘out’ rumours is Sebastian Squillaci. Having returned from pantomime season where he thoroughly enjoyed playing the rear end of the horse, he has confirmed that he is set to leave for pastures new. The grass isn’t always green elsewhere of course but even though he could get a ‘bumper deal’ elsewhere when his contract expires in the summer, he may just decide to get a taste of that grass this month:

I will be out of contract at the end of the season. As it stands, I will leave. Perhaps during the January transfer window or else I will wait for the month of June.

Marseille, Nice, Monaco, Bastia or Ajaccio are clubs that speak to me. I am 32 years old. I still have two or three good seasons left. On the French Riviera or elsewhere. I will choose depending on the opportunities that arise.

Taxi for Squillaci…….

That all has to be good news doesn’t it and will save the club at least £250, 000 a week in wages.

Talking of which, according to Sky Sports, the representatives of Theo Walcott begun talks with the club again yesterday and it’s believed that Theo will be made an improved offer between £85,000 and £90,000. Hopefully it will be enough to encourage him to stay.

Finally, and just a thought. Barcelona still owe us money for Alex Song and Cesc Fabregas don’t they? In fact they probably still owe us money from the Hleb sale, so why not go and tell them it’s time to pay up?

David Villa would do for starters and the newspapers won’t let that story go away will they……..

That’s it for the day, have a good one….

Ginge, i am away for a few days camping, but caught up today.
Facts are facts, but some prefer to ignore them when it suits.
I’ve got your back mate lol

  2. rico says:

    Morning all….

If the club are really going to let four go, they must have plans to sign one or two…

    Then again….

  3. tsGH says:

‘Marseille, Nice, Monaco, Bastia or Ajaccio’ le squid thinks choosing a football club is like going to Thomsons to choose a holiday destination… joker.

That is the issue most London clubs or big city clubs have with foreign imports…. In Squids case , he thinks he still has 2-3 years to play at a high level that is why he failed to join Olympiacos last summer even after we agreed to pay half of his salary and offered him on a free allegedly…

On other news ‘Caught offside’ are reporting that Le are close to agreeing a deal with Yann but are failing or oblivious to the fact that he has torn a knee ligament… jokers

  4. Scott from Oz says:

Rico, we are getting 7 in.
I mean, we do have 70 million to spend:)
Who the hell knows who Arsene will bring in, but we know it will be a surprise.

  5. tsGH says:

Hey Rico watch it…. if politicians and film stars can do it so can we…. 😀

Nice Scott hope you are having fun…

  6. rico says:

Not knocking it Ts, it’s a free world….

Don’t worry Scott, I checked your IP’s and they differ, just to make sure 😉

  7. tsGH says:

Adam-Your best friend Le squid wants to play on the French Riviera..

So the clueless team failed to win against the saints but they had a day off yesterday ….

  8. JW says:

    Good morning all,

“rear end of a pantomime horse” 😀 love it Rico!

Camping it up out in the outback eh Scott? Don’t get yer didgerido sunburnt cobber 🙂

  9. JW says:

You may have opened a can of worms today Rico, Arsenal names to play pantomime characters…I’ll start of with Peter Hill-Wood as Baron Hardup. 🙂

  10. potter says:

Be interesting to know what the never never terms are for the payment on our ex players. Then we could second guess if the cash flow into the club would be adversely affected by writing off some of the debt for Villa. My guess is were we to do it , we would be more likely to raid La Masia again and breed them a couple of world class players for three years time.

  11. JW says:

Let’s not be too cynical here, but with Henry not signing on loan David Villa might be the sort of marquee name to put a few more bums on seats…and I’m not talking about the bums on the seats in the boardroom!

  12. Scott from Oz says:

    Lol JW.
Camping with the boys is a little different to camping with the family.
This time it is with the family, and comfort is the key word.
The boss lady won’t camp unless certain luxuries are at hand.
Still, when with the lads beer is the only beverage at hand.
With the family, a lovely single malt scotch is the chosen one.
Back to it…. Have a great day all, and keep them honest Ginge!!

  13. tsGH says:

    Hi JW,

So you are the amateur film director I keep seeing hanging around Houdini? lol

Later Rico. I can only try Scott but damn I am running out of excuses for AW… lol. Take it easy buddy…

Adam I know you are a football agent so get your client Seb to move on…

  14. W.A.T.H says:

Seb could go says Arsene…………. That menas he ain’t going nowhere !!

    Morning all.

Scott goes “camping” with the boys……………!! Not sure I want anymore info on that one..!

  15. Adam says:

TS. I have told him that the grazing is better elsewhere. Perhaps you could re-task a surveillance satellite so I could keep tabs on him.

  16. W.A.T.H says:

Most transfer fee’s are paid over the length of the players contracts to the selling club, exceptions to this are if you want to get a good deal you pay extra up front or if you want to get in quick and buy a player before other clubs get wind they are for sale but the norm is all fee’s are paid over the contract life.

  17. tsGH says:

    a non-arsenal news;

West Ham are in talks to sign Danny Simpson from Newcastle… So Tulisa didn’t have to work hard at all to convince the purring boy to move to London…

Hi WATH, I heard you are PHW in disguise…

  18. tsGH says:

Adam the french eat all birds I can’t allow Le squid to capture a bird hovering over him all day… so i will pass on assigning a HotBird monitoring your buddy… get me Cavani and I may change my mind

  19. JW says:

    ts,

I’ve got a few lined up,

Alisher is begging to be allowed to play the Fairy Godmother, Silent Stan as one of the Ugly Sisters, might have to play a ringer for the other one, Old Rednose fits the bill. I’m not sure what part AW should play, Widow Twankey or Aladdin, he might just rub his magic lamp and bring forth, not a genie, but an “exceptional” one. And of course we have plenty of square pegs used to playing in round holes. 🙂

  20. Adam says:

TS. I must confess to being underwhelmed by Tulia’s rather average performance in the movie I saw. Don’t tell Rico I watched it though. 🙂

  21. tsGH says:

Adam no comment there because, I have traveled around the cyber world looking for it but I have not been lucky… I guess i don’t know the right buddies.

Maybe some training from you will help her….

JW I saw your name on the credits on Tulisa’s movie… you have an impressive portfolio and a half.

  22. Adam says:

TS. I remember that Clarkson clip. As for that vid, I would check with Lee myself.
Training would need to come from Kev I think as the robes I wear are merely an outward manifestation of my inner beliefs. You remember I am a lay preacher I hope.

  23. tsGH says:

That’s it then for this window..

”Arsene Wenger has insisted he will not contemplate bringing in reinforcements until he has clarified Theo Walcott’s future at Arsenal.”

  24. tsGH says:

    Later JW take it easy..

Lee- 28 days from now I will be joining the calls for AW to be sacked too… It could be true that the AW we see is not the one we had in 2005..

I personally do not think we will buy. Maybe David Villa if we are lucky but Barca need hard cash so… AW has been told to lower the wage bill and he has infact increased it by re-newing the 5 young boys contracts… unless the AA23, gel-boy, Le squid leave I can’t see anyone joining and that is the dilemna. We do not have the balls to threaten as players have all the power this days like Winston Bogarde and Malouda of this world. Barca even paid Hleb for 3 years without him kicking a single ball for them..

In our case I think things are complicated by the fact that AA23 and le Squid are on the wrong side of 30 so they would rather take their £3M to 5million pay than leave London..

  25. allezkev says:

Sit back and watch every other club in the EPL do business.

As for us, there is always Diaby…

And with that thought burning through your brain, I must drag myself off to work.
    Lata

  26. tsGH says:

    later Kev…

Its frustrating and depressing being an Arsenal fan especially with a younger AW now at the shite hut lane doing wonders…

  27. Bradster says:

Scary part ts is that players choose to rather go to Tottenham than Arsenal. I think they seriously doubt we’ll be playing champions league next season.

  28. potter says:

So we can take it that we are not buying unless another member of the first team squad leaves. If we can shed the players that are being touted, the saving of money in wages will help to make up for the lack of Champions league income for next season I suppose.

  29. JW says:

Here’s confirmation that our season is all but over, “Arsenal will put their “maximum effort” into this season’s FA Cup campaign, according to Arsène Wenger speaking on Arsenal.com.

So maximum effort in the FA Cup, that explains the crap we we played against Southampton in the league, we were “saving” it for the cup.

Realistically we may just about make it into the Europa League, Can anyone see us getting past Bayern Munich in the Champions league? I can’t!

According to one report 48% of professional footballers say that depression is a problem for them. I wonder what the figure is for Arsenal fans?

  30. potter says:

Interesting programme coming up on Talk Sport this afternoon , hopefully i will be able to listen to it. It is regarding player claims of match fixing in English football . makes you wonder.

  31. allezkev says:

    Depression Potter!!!

Are those wankers having a tin barf…?

I’m depressed at the thought of going to watch them at Swansea this Sunday…

Depression, huh, it’s enough to make ya weep.

Nevermind about depression. Those pampered peacocks should beware ‘indifference’…..
Because i’m reaching the stage of not giving a shit anymore.

  32. tsGH says:

    hi again,

Maximum respect to those who pay to watch the Arsenal these days i always say…

But please its not worth paying to see this team imho… my reason is that the board members claim to be fans but it cost them nothing to support this club. In fact they gain from us and then disrespect the fans by telling lies that Alastair Campbell will be proud off…

Save the money for transport even if you have your season ticket. Until fans stop going things will never change for all of us…

  33. tsGH says:

Rumours say Stan is in the country.

That only tells me he is here to tell AW to sell TW14 because from his ranch he can tell Serge is an ideal potential replacement…

  34. DutchGooner10 says:

    Hiya Goonerdome warriors,

Happy New Year and all the charming formalities that go with it…… Dream your own dreams, don’t ask me for suggestions or input. 😛

  35. SD London says:

What was Man city thinking buying Balotelli or paying him £150 000 per week ?

The guy is nuts and doesn’t understand why he cant beat people up.

  36. DutchGooner10 says:

    Rico,

I would rather have pantomime wages than a cart horse rear for Squirrel.

Great read nonetheless. See your writing getting snappier in a league of its own.

  37. Lee says:

John Cross claims Arsenal will not finish in the top four season, unless Arsene Wenger brings in a number of signings in January.

“At the moment, the squad looks short. Unless he makes signings, I don’t think they will finish in the top four,” he said

  38. rico says:

Hi Dg, how are you all doing?

I would too, sooner he is gone the better and thank you, I will try not to be so snappy in future 😉

  39. SD London says:

    LEE,

John Cross hasn’t learnt that Wenger is now the Master of top Four because we will finish in the Top four . But that is not our cup of tea because what we want is a trophy and i dont think we are winning one this year.

Unless we get a fluke trophy like Chelsea did last year.

  40. allezkev says:

Lee, i’m not sure that making signings are going to make any difference.
    We are a Franchise.
That’s right, we aren’t Arsenal Football Club.
    We are Arsenal Football/Soccer Franchise.
Just the London arm of the Syrup Sports World Domination on a Shoestring Inc….

  41. DutchGooner10 says:

    Rico

Don’t stop your natural progress, going from sarcasm, cynicism to tar brushing pessimist. 😉

I’m fine. Ready to put my mark on 2013. Robust and unburdened by boundaries.

  42. potter says:

Rico he will be busy , he will have his work cut out selling ! don’t expect anything coming in to the first team squad unless someone goes . FFP balance has to be redressed should we fail to get Champions league money. The lack of ambition birds have come home to roost.

  43. DutchGooner10 says:

    Rico

Did I miss an ear washing on our forum in my absence? I grave some Hitchcock suspense. Knifes out, shower curtain closed.

  44. DutchGooner10 says:

In these days of environmental issues, Silent Stan should be lauded keeping his footprints to the bare minimum. Yet we moan he’s never around. The paradox universe is beautiful.

  45. rico says:

AW says ‘I don’t think it was only about money’

So has the TW situation been resolved one way or the other?

😆 No Dg, you said my writing was getting snappier 😉

  46. goonster says:

syrup huh lee? well tell him to grab gerwanko around the neck on his way out too. enough mediocrity already. we re the arsenal ffs!

  47. goonster says:

hey lee, what’s new? any recent developments regarding theo’s beleaguered contract? ( christ this new dictionary is doing wonders for me, i sound like DG10 already, next step, world domination)

  48. DutchGooner10 says:

Rico one doesn’t exclude the other. Snappy is the napkin while you serve a grilling. 😉

    Afternoon Goonie.

  49. tsGH says:

The club is so pathetic that the players we are getting linked to are jokes…

The latest rumour is Juan Zuniga of napoli to Arsenal. A good player if you want a twin for Santos. A LW who at 27 is not going to be made into a proper LB in this country before he retires….

This rumours are now laughable. At least when they use to say we were linked with expensive good players it was encouraging now we are getting linked with players who can not get into their current teams starting 11…

  50. tsGH says:

Arsenal Holdings PLC holders of Arsenal F.c which was disbanded well in 2003…

Can anyone tell me which other team in the Champions League is a PLC? My head is about to explode….

  51. goonster says:

well ginge i ll take that rumor though. shows wenger is really working behind the scenes. wait for it. something is about to spring forth.

  52. emma says:

    Good day Gunners,
Diaby is back like a new signing, Frimpong loan is over after a putting in woeful performances with Charlton. That’s Arsenal not signing a DM. I would love to be proved wrong but doubt if AW will sign anyone

  53. DutchGooner10 says:

Family matters Goonster calling for undivided attention.

Temporarily back or return to sender permanently?

  54. Will XL says:

every time I think about it, there is no reason I can come up with to justify this team not performing well. the core of the team is made up of proven internationals and full blooded premier league players. early on in the season there was so much positivity because the potential in this team was so evident. How can wenger not be able to rectify this bipolar team?

  55. Joaquim Moreira says:

the latest rumour is Bosigwa from QPr… was good 6 years ago but now?
the top four? The reality is: the others are much more stronger and are at least, 8 teams for four places.

  56. goonster says:

temporary back mon frere(spelling)…….will be heading back in 3 days! yikes! how am i gonna tell mama?

  57. tsGH says:

Very true Emma. frimps only completed one game in 6 matches and he was played as an attacking midfielder apart from his last match where he played in the DM role and then was so Tiote-like/Dench that after receiving a yellow card in Ipswich Town match during the first half he was subbed in the 2nd half because of fear of a 2nd yellow card…

Charlton wanted to prolong his loan deal but I guess Aw did not unless he is moving to Wolves in January…

  58. allezkev says:

That’s very true Ginge, even if it is actually agents just putting out lies.
The sad fact is that the linkage to Arsenal is plausable as we have declined to such a state that Tottenham have become a more apertising destination, if for those lesser star players.
Arsenal, the dumping ground for world football’s second-raters.
    Thanks a bunch Syrup.

  59. goonster says:

hahahhahaha AK down in the dumps???? what’s next? micko giving up guiness? come on guys its only the third day??? sheeesh, relax amigos we ll be fine.

  60. tsGH says:

@Will the answer is a lack of balance in the team… 10 Inesita and Messi’s can never win you a marathon…

diaby will come and play 4 matches with us winning 3 and drawing 1 and then get injured until April…

In that time frimps will have 2 sub appearances and then get loaned out before Abu Doha gets injured again…

  61. DutchGooner10 says:

Goonie don’t worry mama was teared by your return, leaving will make her summer come early.

Joking apart. Would have been grand to hook up like those London geezers going for curry/kebab and a few bins of brew. Don’t go missing while your staying over with the cowboys and indians.

  62. Will XL says:

Imagine that. Players turning down The Arsenal for some 2nd rate side. If Wenger has an ounce of pride in him, that must hurt his soul.

Whi thinks we should pay Sneijder 200k a week and get him on the free?

  63. allezkev says:

Signing rejects from QPR, hmm, sounds about right.

Even if we signed David Villa, i’m not sure it would lift the gloom. He is, after all, 31… And just come off a raft of injuries.
Maybe Wenger will make a deadline day swoop for Sahin?

  64. goonster says:

DG10,micko is the salt among those miserable lot. AK and WATH are so old they ll pass out before we walk a mile, lee is well lee! adam is too cultured besides mrs A ll be waiting with a roller pin. that just leaves me and ginge….and to be honest i don;t think he gets out much!

  65. tsGH says:

Hi there my dutch buddies… How are you doing? Hope the family are ok?

I am joining Adam, Rico, Esp and Lee in the kick AW out campaign…

Not forgetting Kev, Fred and WATH and all the regulars who have had enough of this Characacher stan has managed to turn Aw into…

I may need to develop a logo and a t-shirt to wear around

  66. tsGH says:

😀 Hey goonie I get out ok, especially when am selling pirate copies of Tulisa’s homemade to Adam and Lee…

  67. goonster says:

rico its just the third day…..give it a res already. its getting boring. if we don’t sign nobody then let it rip in the main time let’s just enjoy laughing at the chavs!

  68. tsGH says:

Rico its like Woolworth or Comet… Liquidation sale. Lets just put a banner at the Emirates with the slogan ‘grab a bargain’

  69. SD London says:

Fabregas mentioned how easy he thought arsenal training was compared to what he experienced when he returned to Barcelona

Maybe it is the way we train that needs to change because this guys are international players of fair reput so why cant they beat Soths, Bradford,Swansea, Norwich just to mention few of our shock results?

  70. Lee says:

All together one two three “Diaby will be like a new signing!” We are a pathetic excuse for a football club and it’s only going to get worse….THE END!

  71. goonster says:

hahahahhahah DG10, i love south park…….those kids ll be the death of me. suck my chocolate salty balls he says! hahahahahaha.

  72. Lee says:

A 24-stone self-confessed soccer hooligan has turned his back on the macho world of terrace violence to undergo a sex change.

Burly Richard Allen, 36, lived for brawling with rival fans at England and sPURS games and admits he was a die-hard yob.
But Richard has shown hooliganism the red card and after he shed seven stone has swapped football shirts for frocks and embarked on a new life – as Becci.
Becci said: ‘I had been on a colourful path with anger and got into trouble with the police a few times. I went to football games with Exeter City, Spurs and England and I was a hooligan.
‘I used to beat people up. I was always fighting something I wanted to be.
‘I am not proud of what I used to do but it has all gone to shaping the way I am today – I am finally getting the life I was meant to live.’
Becci, of Alphington, Devon, knew from the age of eight he wanted to be a woman.
But rather than explore his feminine side he surrounded himsef with tough friends and behaved as ‘manly’ as possible to release his pent-up anger.

  73. DutchGooner10 says:

Goonie I wish they would do an episode on Arsenal. Gonna be hilarious. OMG!!!! They killed Kenny!!

  74. Will XL says:

I just watched highlights of Arsenal 2 – 1 Barcelona on youtube. Depressing… But it alsomakesme strangely hopeful.

  75. tsGH says:

My views that vary from most is mainly that AW has money and he refuses the spend, and that he is the one who chooses to sell the players so that he can pocket an alleged bonus…

Additionally, I disagree that this squad is good enough. In fact I think we have over achieved since 2000. Especially when PV said it was a miracle to finish 2nd in a 2 horse race in 2000/2001 season.

I also disagree that AW’s is overpaid as he is the reason why we are the only club in world football to increase revenue by over £100M in 7 year… Even the richest club Bayern (cash-wise) or manure( asset wise) have had drop in revenue winning trophies in the last 7/8 years…

What i do agree on his is tactics can be too reactive. It is his nature as DD said about AW and transfers and I expected SB to make a difference. Unfortunately, he earns a huge amount but then says on TV that he has a headache for deputising for AW…

What has pissed me off is that he says he is looking for players to buy… hello. You either have a list or you are not in the transfer market at all…

AW can still be a respectable and honourable employee of Stan without going the extra mile to take the blame for everything. Even Jesus Christ will hold each of us accountable for our deems (if you believe in that)…

  76. tsGH says:

I look at that man and ask what the board has over him to take all this crap that is being served cold for the masses…

This is the same man who told the previous PSG chairman before Stan took over us that he would never work under an American owner in football…

The man has lost his wife because of Arsenal and he is a laughing stock by those who use to worship him.. What will he take to say enough is enough to Stan and the board…

How can a man be told by the board that we are not selling Nastry or VP for Aw to say a club can not beconsidered a big club if it sold all its players but then the moment Stan flies to RAF Henlow and tells the football men at the club that to sell, he is even humiliated to haggle for a higher fee…

  77. Lee says:

TS, the list should of been drawn up months ago and the wheels in motion to the transfers done asap! The fact that he’s “looking” doesn’t bode well, methinks! Expect sweet f.a and you may be surprised is the best policy!!

  78. tsGH says:

He does look like he is terminal ill Rico…

if you are doing a job you claim to love and get paid very well for it you should never look that stressed…

  79. tsGH says:

Exacly Lee. The transfer window opens for sales and buys not for scouts to be given a travel passport and visa to start player scouting… especially when you can watch every player remotely in the comfort of an office from around the world…

  80. SD London says:

Well if Stan is in town , i think it is only to release money , maybe we will buy somebody after all.
Or it could be that he is here to tell Wenger to make money on Walcott before it is too late. 🙁

  81. SD London says:

I dont think Wenger is hill, although football management is a stressful job but i think the reason Wenger looks that way is because he is getting old and as a slim man, his skin is unfortunately coming together .

  82. Adam says:

Afternoon everybody. Have we signed anyone yet. I see Stan Kroenke is in town so I am filled with a new sense of optimism and electric shocks of positivity are shooting through my body. It could of course be the phial of amyl nitrate I just snorted.

  83. tsGH says:

SD, Stan is normally in town for 3 things… his NFL team AGM or in the summer to sell players… Stan never provides funds so that is out of the question…

I only reported that Stan was in town because an old friend mentioned that a jet used by Stan previously was penciled and logged in to land in on of the airfields that private Jets type users use… 😉

It is not confirmed but it will be confirmed either way in the next few days…

  84. Adam says:

TS. Stan is here I tell you. I can feel his mighty presence and the vicarious tingle of his manly, sporting moustache.

  85. DutchGooner10 says:

    Ginge

Watch your mouth before we know it press rats are flocking HH. Be careful spilling beans. If only for your own preservation.

  86. tsGH says:

    true DG… very true

That is why i did not mention the name of the airfield… 😉

When I said I heard some of our players thought Stan had barred TH14 from Colney because of his dinner with AU, a few days ago i saw part of that comment in a post on a blog…

  87. allezkev says:

Hey Adam, I dig what you are taking man…
    It sounds kinda…..cosmic….
    Outta sight man.
    Lata 😉

  88. Adam says:

He’s here to get a more youthful look and thought that a tin of Lyles Golden Syrup would help him achieve that. He was surprised when a thick, sweet liquid poured from the tin.

  89. frednerk says:

I’am not one for pantomines……………..but watching wenger at to-days press conference.

I could nalf slap a custard pie in his mush

  90. Will XL says:

Ok guys. Most of us here think that 2-3 new signings will probably revitalise and stabilise the team. So I guess its safe to assume that these new players must be starters since our current starting 11 isn’t good enough. My question is, which of our current starters would have to make way to accomodate the new signings in our new starting 11?

  91. SD London says:

It is not about the number of signings but the quality of signings.

Even 1 quality signing could save our season.

See what losing RVP has done to us.

  92. frednerk says:

    Will
1st up a big/strong defensive minded midfield player who can pass a ball and run.
That would change the dynamics of our game in one hit.
by doing this it would shield the back four,
it would give our attacking midfielders a bit of cover
and would scare the fu-k out of some these teams who think we are a soft touch.
Arteta would have to be sacrificed

You got me kicking the proverbial soda can in my head. Knocking it with no particular direction while pondering the cranium.

My main take: our squad is spilling over with players chasing personal achievements shaping their career, not club honours. Missing links are symbiosis and synchronicity.

  94. Will XL says:

Good point Fred. whoever plays there has to be very mobile. we need to be able to transition from attack to defense and breakup play higher up the field. He also needs to be willing to spark attacking moves by driving forward with the ball.

  95. Will XL says:

DG10, I asked the question simply because I cant come up with any easy answers! SD suggests that its the quality we sign. I agree somewhat. I think welost an exceptional player and a good player, then added 3 other good players. But now there is no exceptional talent in our squad. Santi comes closest but something is preventing him from constantly hitting his peak. I dont think RVP alone would help however. We have spread his goals around thus far but we still clearly lack something. Its either that a mental barrier is preventing these guys from expressing themselves fully on thw pitch or the systemitself needs to be changed.

I mentioned kicking the soda can cuz I’m just as lost for straightforward answers. Having touched so many already. Our ‘good’ players have potential like the first iPhone, overabundance of features but a few development cycles short.

  97. eastsidepaul says:

I would like to see 4 first team players arrive, but that isn’t happening.

    Baines/Shaw to replace Gibbs.
    M’Vila to replace Arteta
    Lopez to replace Walcott/
And an actual winger to play on the right.

Get rid of a couple, bring in a couple, no fuss no noise, business done.

  98. Will XL says:

DG10, good analogy with the iPhone …. because they seemto have compatibility issues as well… andwith the exorbitant ticket cost, watching them play is definitely overpriced!

  99. frednerk says:

The thing with this team 16 shots? on target against newcastle..

next game not one shot on target

how do you work that out

Looks like greasy bounce is off:

Talks held between West Ham & Arsenal over Chamakh. Not done yet, #afc not preparing statement tonight but @LeeClayton_ reliable source #whu

Wisdom of crowds. Great addition re seamless compatibility. Don’t mention Bluetooth. 😉

  102. Lee says:

Or will it be Jenkinson,Gibbs,Wilshire,Ramsey, The Ox and Theo? With Santos,Diaby and Rosicky being the three “new signings?” You can’t make this shit up can you? Jokers this lot!
    Syrup out!

  103. Lee says:

Rico sign four of those players and that would show ambition and intent….The Emirates would be buzzing, the players/fans would get a massive lift! Instead AW will drag the TH signature on throughout the TW and won’t sign anyone.
    Syrup out!

  104. Lee says:

We can easily afford three maybe four of those players and they would give us the required impetus for the rest of the season.
    Syrup out!

  105. Lee says:

Just getting limit up with the goings on or lack of goings on at Arsenal “Football” Club.
Night Rico, I need my beauty sleep! 😉

  106. Will XL says:

I’m sick of it too frankly. Will reportback tomorrow when I hear something worthy of reporting.

    See ya all tomorrow.

  107. rico says:

Night Lee, I need my beauty sleep too. Maybe more than you do… 😉

In fact, nighty all, tomorrow is another day….

    Stay safe all…

  108. ozgunner10 says:

i see Arsene is now saying he could of signed Ba – putting this list together of players HE COULD have signed and thats one hell of a team HE COULD of had. Dreamer maybe?

Transfer news: Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has bemoaned the pressure he is under to land a big name player like Lionel Messi rather than more promising youngsters in the January transfer window.

The Gunners have been linked with a £10million bid for Atletico Madrid striker Adrian Lopez, while Crystal Palace’s 21-year-old England international Wilfried Zaha and Schalke midfielder Lewis Holtby are others allegedly on Wenger’s radar.

However, as he looks to bring in players who can make an instant impact, Wenger knows Arsenal fans patience is wearing thin when it comes to keeping faith in potential to deliver.

“It is very difficult because the level of expectation is very high – people want to see Lionel Messi come in, they don’t want to see a promising guy,” said Wenger, who takes his side to Swansea in the FA Cup third-round on Sunday.

“First of all the name gives hope. When a guy has no name people are already sceptical, so it’s much more difficult for us.”

Swansea look to have picked up a real bargain in Michu, signed by manager Michael Laudrup for just £2million from Rayo Vallecano, and the Spanish striker scored both goals in the 2-0 win at Arsenal on December 1.

Wenger admitted the 26-year-old had not been high on the watchlist of the Arsenal scouting network, which is now under more scrutiny than ever to unearth talent who can hit the ground running.

“Sometimes when you are on a big club your scouts are a bit more cautious because they think ‘oh, it is Arsenal it has to be a top four player’, so naturally they are looking less at players who play at smaller clubs,” Wenger continued.

“You are always scared that he is a player who does not do well, the scouts are looked at as responsible.

“The competition is higher on scouting front, that is for sure.

“The country where we were really, really competitive was France, but now they produce less players than they did 10 or 15 years ago at the top, top level.

“The emerging countries now to produce players look to be Germany and Spain, who have many good young players.”

    How very very patronising Arsene…………..

If you hadn’t of bought such household names and such shit like Almunia, Silvestre, Chamakh, Squillaci et at maybe people would not live in hope that you spend our money better on just decent players. To talk such utter shit is an insult to us yet again, think fans have been mega patient with all the young players he’s bought and tried to bring through. Seems he’s feeling the pressure to deliver when we all know there money in the bank…. OUR money..!

  111. tsGH says:

    morning again fellow gooners….

Thanks to the Creator for another day…

Has Kroenke fallen off his horse yet?

  112. Will XL says:

anyone else seen the article in the dailymail on Arsene Wenger written by Jamie Carragher? interesting read.

  113. DutchGooner10 says:

Morning Lee / Adam / Ginge

Think Rico has her periodic laptop meltdown. That. Or woofy came running in coughing a few feathers.

  114. W.A.T.H says:

No idea whats going on with todays post chaps….. Can’t email Rico either…! Seems like wordpress as post also not showing on NN but not sure as I can’t find whats wrong wither when I look in the settings…! very weird.

  115. rico says:

Adam, I don’t know, I could get on earlier but not now and i can’t even find it ‘behind the scenes’ …

  116. DutchGooner10 says:

Why does Arsene have to go Freud, Nietzsche and Aristotle on our asses. Just applaud Laudrup for nicking a good bargain. Must it always revolve around denying failure. Jeez…..

Besides isn’t it contradictory, mouthing we ‘the cashcows’ extract hope from big names, yet the club missed out on Michu as he wasn’t further up the ‘exceptional’ list.
