Danilo Pereira heading to Arsenal? Stupid Xhaka, crazy Wenger & angry Dyche.

Morning all.

What a match that was and not necessarily for all the good reasons. Despite Jon Moss trying to everything he could to dent our slim to none league title chase hopes, he must have been gutted having to blow his whistle and point to the penalty spot at the end of the game. Mind you, I think the linesman had a big say in it, as he did with the sending off of Granit Xhaka.

Just as Arsenal are accused of being predictable, so is Moss. He was awful again yesterday and at his age, like Arsene, he’s very unlikely to get better. Pep Guardiola had the balls to question Mike Riley after his side suffered from terrible refereeing on Saturday and I hope Arsene does the same as its long overdue. In fact I hope many other managers and the likes of Sky Sports etc, do the same as the standard of officiating in England is shocking!

Anyway, back to the game. 11 v 11 we were well on top, certainly as far as possession goes. Burnley had the odd attack here and there but little really troubled our defence or Petr Cech. Same old though from us though, plenty of the ball but very few clear cut chances. A few shots from us went close but at the saying goes, close but no banana….

Half-time came and went and there’s little doubt that Sean Dyche and his time wasting players were quite content having not conceded a goal.

Having already had a penalty shout turned down after Mustafi was shoved over in the box, the big German headed home his first goal for the club. He was happy, as were his team-mates…

As Moss continued to allow Burnley’s rough style of football to continue, we suffered a big loss when Xhaka was deemed to have been reckless when he tackled Steve Defour. As I said yesterday, there’s been far worse tackles in this league this season which haven’t resulted in an early bath but. The debate on whether the red card was deserved will continue but either way, it was daft of Xhaka to give Moss a decision to make. He just never seems to learn does he.

As the game drew to a close, Francis Coquelin stuck his leg out in our own penalty area, Barnes fell over it and this penalty was given. Of course it would be and to be honest, I could see why. Up stepped Arsenal fan Andre Gray who made the scores even.

I thought that was it, another day when Arsenal let go of a chance to take advantage other results which had gone our way the previous day and had it been up to Moss, we probably would have but his linesman had other ideas. Koscielny dipped his head to the ball in the box, Ben Mee was adjudged to have raised a high boot to the Frenchman’s face and what after seemed ages, Moss awarded us a penalty but only because his assistant insisted he did. How much that must have hurt Moss to point to the spot, especially after watching Alexis Sanchez coolly made it 2-1. Game over. Phew.

In amongst it all during the final minutes Arsene Wenger was outraged with some of the shoddy stuff from the officials and he made his feelings quite clear to 4th official Anthony Taylor. He’s another man who appears not to like Arsenal much so he’s bound to enjoy writing up his report. Arsene denied pushing Taylor in his after match interview but sadly for him, he was caught on camera and they never lie. There’s little doubt the Frenchman will receive a lengthy ban for his antics, as will Xhaka having been sent off for the second time this season.

Wenger said he should have just shut up, walked off and gone home but clearly he was angry. As was Dyche who insisted Koscielny had been offside in the build to our penalty. Both managers have a right to be angry too because yet again, the officials made mistakes from start to finish in this game but perhaps when Dyche watches the replay, he’ll see that most decisions went his way.

Exciting as it all was for the last ten minutes of the match, the rest of the game was pretty much the same old Arsenal mixed in with wayward passing, slow build up play and pass pass pass in and around the box. Saying that, we did have a few shots from distance, but they went wide, high or both….

This post could be 3000 words full of how the game went yesterday, but you and I have written it all before…..

We’re up to 2nd in the league now, gawd knows how though…..

Gossip – We are linked to Danilo Pereira this morning, that’s according to The Metro via A Bola. Honest, it’s true, we even had scouts at ground during his last game for Porto. £34.5 million and he’s ours!

Finally, wishing Ryan Mason all the very best in his recovery after a nasty clash of heads with Gary Cahill. He’s had surgery on a fractured scull and is stable…

Have a good day guys and gals….

    Good morning …Rico

    What an afternoon yesterday…..lol

The thing about ref as bad as they are but what was all about the first half from team/mamager ?

It was wrong to select Ramsey in this team.

One minute is in the way of Iwobi the other minute Sanchez/Ozil ….is completely all over.

No positional sense what so ever.Complete mismatch and the build up goes ashtray.

    Ohhhhh to be a gunner

  2. Alex says:

If wenger is castigated for that thing ….say for 3 games……it could be a glimpse of what it looks the bench without him…not necessarly the set up of the team

  3. Wavy says:

    Morning Rico and all.
Excellent summation of the game and it’s on field contributors!
To start with an ancient adage: a rolling Moss gathers no ability!
Moss 2’Xhaka 0. Coincidence? Not in my philosophy. Moss has registered his agenda! Fact or “false fact”?
The Arsenal played brilliant football! Truth or “alternative truth”?
We won they lost FACT (although probably not in the trumpster’s world!)
Wenger’s passion? Really he just wanted to watch the end of the game and the 4th official was blocking his view. We all know how Wenger loves to passively watch all home games! Being stuck down a rabbit hole is not part of his employment package!
Only really watched the last 10 mins, it was a bit like the cup final of 1979. That too was a truly dreadful game until the final denouement as per yesterday. However, no matter how poor we were Burnley, yesterday’s opposition were worse. They didn’t deserve to win and, they didn’t. There is a god!
We are clearly better than the scum, we are one point better than them at this stage of the season. The table does not lie! (Unlike the president of the USA, or obsfucate the truth a does our current PM!)
    The parallels are endless!
Lastly. Where the fcuk was the syrup, our esteemed owner??

Blue sky, white grass and bracing here today. Lovely……..just off to relight the log burner!!

  4. allezkev says:

Imagine losing either one of Ramsey or Coquelin prior to our Stamford Bridge appointment?

A central midfield with the likes of Oxlade-Chamberlain, Reine-Adelaide, Maitland-Niles, great double barrelled names but Kante will eat them up…

  5. Chairman Gallant says:

As Machiavelli said: the end justify the means; what matters yesterday was getting the three points, and what a God of soccer, we did. As for Wenger and Xhaka, they need to grow up ( though not sure if Wenger can still grow again, considering his age ). COYG, lets keep that spirit going, there are still more twist to the premier league race, and we are still in the thick of things.

  6. Le Coq Monster says:

    Thanks Rico………………I`ve turned into a bagel ! 🙂

I never leave a game till the fat bastard blows the whistle and given our tendancy to score late anyone leaving before the end is a mug………………obviously unless they have unfortunate circumstances !.

We may try and disect our play/tactics/team/manager etc` after the game, but I bet even Adam was jumping for joy when Ice cold in Alexis put the pen away ! 🙂
I`m still on a high from it and although I have my issues with Wenger and especially the bastard Kroenke, I have a wide grin from the justice of it all and lets be honest and trueful.we are the 4th highest wage payers and untill we are paying fees and wages on a level with those above us in money terms we are punching above our weight and it will never get better untill Kroenke goes ( which he wont) other tahn an anomaly season like Leicester………………even if we were on a par with Chavs, Mansour City and Manshafter in the spending terms only one of us can win the league, thyen down to coach/tactics and pot luck !.

  7. rico says:

Chairman Gallant, we are still in with a shout but our luck will soon run out as other teams will punish us, just as City and Everton did…

  8. scottfromoz says:

    Just finished the replay.
Rambo, not great, but nobody else is copping anything atm, so he’s the obvious target atm.
He will be awaiting a run of games where Giroud doesn’t score, I’m sure lol
The red card….well, the more I see it, the less of a red it is.
    The penalty was a dive.
Coquelin made (very light) contact, but the player took another stride, realised he wasn’t getting the ball so went over, though ours was offside so maybe justice was done and we will take it 🙂
Anyway, I thought the guys dug very deep after going a player down, and their effort was rewarded.

  9. scottfromoz says:

It was silly, Rico, to put himself in that position where he left it in the refs hands, and I don’t blame the ref, but still, a dive.
Theyre the ones I’d like to see reviewed after games.

  10. scottfromoz says:

    Nah, soft 🙂
No question that we must step up to make a real run at the League, but the potential is there.
Now, to turn that potential into practice.
    Fingers crossed.

  11. Kel says:

    Good post Rico..

I must be one of the few who thinks is was a red card then.. I’ll tell you what Xhaka has done is play himself outta the team as imo once cazorla is back and Elneny I think he’ll be benched a decent player indeed not add good as I thought though and a liability this season with reds and pens.

Scott i don’t know what you watched m8 but Coquelins attempted tackle was a stone waller lol honestly 100%pen.

Delighted at the result I’ve watched the highlights a few times it was pure drama at the end… but we ain’t winning the league imo. Still it’s good to be up there.

  12. scottfromoz says:

Kel, I watched the game, obviously, so that comment is a little silly lol
I believe sport should be played in the right spirit, but i know people think it’s part of the game, and that’s fine..
Any player who takes a stride AFTER contact, then goes over, Is diving.
I’m not too sure how it could be described as anything else, but so be it.
As I said, I don’t blame the ref as players are brilliant at it, but it doesn’t change the fact he took a dive.

  13. scottfromoz says:

One thing, Kel……I reckon we see different camera angles here to what you guys see-different broadcasts- as this has come up before where I’ll see something obvious to me, but not others, and it hasn’t happened in reverse, as well.
Anyway, we shall agree to disagree on both calls.
    I’m off guys…..have a great day.

  14. rico says:

Thanks Kel, at the time I thought the red card was harsh but having seen it several times since, it was a definite red card. Must say I too have been a little disappointed in Xhaka since he arrived as I thought he was going to be a lot stronger than he is. Fairly though of course…

Maybe he’s just one of these players who need a season to settle..

  15. Kel says:

I hope so Rico.. maybe needs a season to bed inn.. but I do wonder what type of player he is and for 35m yes I expect a little bit more but hey time will tell.

  16. Wavy says:

Is Wenger playing Xhaka in his preferred position?? I think he was discussed on MotD2 last night and their view was that he is not a ‘holding’ MFer. And I agree. When he has time on the ball his distribution is usually excellent. His movement and ability to beat an oncoming player is sound. He has the beating of most players. But he cannot tackle! He tackles like I used to, well I didn’t ‘tackle’ anyone I always missed the ball but if I was really lucky I’d maim the player! I’m sure he will be better for us if the wily old super tactian moves him up the field a bit and gives him a more creative role. If only because, his power to destroy has been evident enough this season. Alternatively Wenger should just not pick him if fatty Moss is in charge!

  17. Le Coq Monster says:

Tell you what has changed since I last came up !……………..effing driving from Ems to M4 via Shoreditch….Aldgate…….Tower Bridge…….Embankment……Earls Court………Hammersmith……took effing ages on those bits before M4 !……about hour and 45mins !………….last time was about an hour and that was bad enough !…………….bloody tourists and dont me started on traffic lights …….they should be scrapped and made all for themselves at junctions ……it would move quicker !

  18. potter says:

I know how you feel , yesterday left Norwich at 10.00 am got to the North Circular at 11.30 . Parked up at clissold Park 1.45 pm 1 hour and 15 minutes to do 6 miles. OPbviously not as long as your trip but the principle is the same.

  19. allezkev says:

Cocker/Potter, you can thank TfL for that chaps…

They build the cycles lanes, they’ve licensed over 40,000 more mini-cabs than 6 years ago, they’ve filled the roads with dozens of empty Boris buses, who are so green, that on many of them the batteries have failed and they just run on derv like the old Routemasters…

And with all this congestion we have the Mayor of London, who runs TfL, warning us about dangerous levels of pollution…

    You couldn’t make it up…

  20. potter says:

Like a lot of born and bred Londoners I don’t live there anymore so it is difficult for me to comment on Sadiq Khan first hand but from what people tell me he seems to be a very divisive character . It seems that this is the way of politics at the moment everything is black or white , no-one can bring themselves to find any grey.

  21. allezkev says:

It’s not just Khan, Potter, Boris Johnson and his cronies instigated a lot of the policies that see London in gridlock…

    They’re all fcuking useless…

  22. Le Coq Monster says:

Next time I come up I want to park somewhere near London`s edge preferably M3 or M4 and get the tube in !……………anyone know what`s the furthest tube station out near M4/M3 to park and get into Islington ?

As for football, I`m more confident about our FA Cup chances knowing Soton have a League Cup 2nd leg Semi on Wednesday………surely they will field a stronger team against Bindippers than us…….I hope……fingers crossed……..stroking rabbits foot………

  23. scottfromoz says:

    Morning all.
Kel, on reflection, Coquelin should be charged and possibly jailed over that brutal attack bahahahahahaha.
    Full contact-classic 🙂
Wenger has basically ruled out any new signings, so this deal is happening lol!!

  24. scottfromoz says:

Oh and Wenger should be charged with assault for his attack, as well.
I had to turn my eyes away.
I hope the official makes a full recovery.
Don’t people think it’s a little hypocritical to have a crack at Arsene when one of the biggest criticisms is the perceived lack of passion he shows?
Seems whatever he does, he’s wrong.

  25. Le Coq Monster says:

Similar to Xhaka for me about the pasion thing !……………….lots moaning about lack of Adams, Keown, Viera passion and Xhaka gets hounded for it !………………………….ok Rico I know………he was stupid ! hahaha

  26. scottfromoz says:

    Rico, you’re splitting hairs, imo.
We can find fault in any action if we look hard enough, and when it comes to Wenger plenty do.
I’m not defending his action, by the way-he deserves to be punished but it’s obvious he was caught up in the moment-isn’t that passion?

  27. rico says:

They were both stupid Lc. As others have said previously, Xhaka didn’t need to go flying into his tackle, not on the halfway line and with other players behind him to defend any kind of attack.

Wenger, well how long has he been a manager? We condemn other managers for their antics on the sideline, yet defend Wenger when he behaves stupidly…

  28. Le Coq Monster says:

Aparrently (or rumour) he called the Reff a cheat !………….so he`s a cheat as well as a bastard !.

Arsene Wenger has been charged for misconduct following Arsenal’s game against Burnley on Sunday [22 January 2017].

It is alleged that in or around the 92nd minute, he used abusive and/or insulting words towards the fourth official. It is further alleged that following his dismissal from the technical area, his behaviour in remaining in the tunnel area and making physical contact with the fourth official amounted to improper conduct.

He has until 6pm on 26 January 2017 to respond to the charge.

Also………..any other team got this “Mental Strength” !

    https://twitter.com/premierleague/status/823289655412092928?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw

  29. scottfromoz says:

Rico, then people must stop asking him to show passion, as they do 37 weeks a season.
LC, when Gabriel was sent off v Chelski, he was stupid and naive.
Now, Wenger has “coached his aggression out of him” and he’s not the same player?
It’s really ridiculous, but again, no matter what Wenger does, he’s just wrong.

  30. rico says:

No Scott, I don’t agree. One can show passion without resorting to using violence.

Isn’t that something similar to what you said when Arsenal fans fight among themselves?

  31. rico says:

Being aggressive doesn’t naturally mean bad tackling. Aggressive is being strong, determined and a tough nut… not getting sent off in the process…

  32. Le Coq Monster says:

At the end of the day, Scott, it`s down to the players to be in control of the aggression, keep it but control it with the use of dark arts ! 🙂
I`m convinced both Gabriel and Xhaka will be fine when they have got used to the EPL and we will see great benefits from them both……..it doesn`t just become instant and given time they will master it !…….meditation and yoga…………………..ommmmmmmmmmmm……………I have just escaped my body in deep meditation………..ommmmmmmmm…………..flying like an eagle over my next door neighbours 19 year old daughters bedroom window…….ommmmmmmm 🙂

  33. Kel says:

Well sure each to their own, Obviously them tvs channels you watch Scott are upside down and don’t have same angles.

Tbh No wonder one of the best posters I’ve ever seen on here herb doesn’t bother much anymore.

    Goodnight guys..

  34. ScottfromOz says:

    Onya Kev lol
Rico, the two elbows on Mustafi would warrant a death sentence then 🙂
Kel, seems you’ve taken over the cause, but Herb was on here a day or two back so you need to keep up.
It’s really a feeble attempt on your behalf to stir the pot again.
    I do hope you’re proud.

  35. Kel says:

No stirring the pot from me couldn’t be annoyed tbh..

just pointed out one of the best guys on here doesn’t bother as much as he used to because of you, if he’s back great I look forward to his long boring posts as you called them.

  36. ScottfromOz says:

    Kel
If everyone stopped posting after someone criticised them, we’d never see a comment.
Anyway, that was over two weeks ago so let’s leave it there, hey?

  37. micko says:

Steady on Malaga, Herb has only been on here for 5 minutes mate….get a life.

He’s probably only supported us for the last 40 years and been to more games than some have had hot dinners lol.

  38. allezkev says:

Ginge, you’ve gotta get on the blower to you mates in Ghana, get them to put out Egypt as we need Elneny back…

A draw and Egypt progress, so get to it Ginge…

  39. ScottfromOz says:

Good to see ya back, Micko.
    Nah, really lol
MG, you just keep us posted on signings 🙂 🙂
Good to see everyone has their sense of humour back.
Sometimes, you guys are even funny, but I’m glad you don’t over do it hahahaha

  40. micko says:

    Piss funny…..truth hurts !

Gotta love the common denominator here.

Agreed, it’s been over 48 hours since your last transfer rumour Malaga let alone 2 years, keep up mate !

First thing in the morning I neeed to get onto RTE to sort out the camera angles on my tv lol.

  41. ScottfromOz says:

Micko, funny you mention the “common denominator”, as I used that exact term earlier, when describing the issue of certain people acting in such a way to make it appear that I’m the problem.
It’s not hard to be part of the boys club, as you’d know well and truly LOL
Still, I march on and even though big, hard men were telling me they’d get me thrown out of HH, I’m still here so I guess reslillience is something that I have, but is lacking in those of you who need to lean on each other for “support”.
Me, well rightly or wrongly, I say exactly what I think and it’s a shame a few of you spend so much time and energy poking the bear, so to speak, because while I’ve made every attempt to keep on topic, you’re wasting everyone’s time.
This is about Arsenal yet you want to make it about me.
What does that say about you?
    Plenty.
So, I’m trying to shut this BS down, yet yourself, Kel and Herb have done the complete opposite in the last few days-you tell me where the problem really lies?
I’m done with you and your mates schoolboy bullying tactics and I hope you guys are, as well.
If you wish to continue, I’ll forward my email address so we can keep this petty crap off the House.
    Your call.

  42. micko says:

Fair enough Scott….so why don’t you name and shame these big hard men that were trying to get you thrown off HH.

    We’d all love to know.

  43. ScottfromOz says:

Micko, it was there for all to see.
Not my allegation, but by the mans own hand.
The man plenty felt so sorry for lol
    Anyway, enough now.
    Arsenal.
    The reason we’re here.

  44. Malaga gooner says:

Yeah Scott , tell us who these bully’s our, so we can send the real Irish army around to sort them out

    Chucky ar la??????

  45. micko says:

There you have it Houser’s, everyone mentioned above should be well and truly ashamed of themselves, talk about firing blanks lol……nite Gooners.

  46. micko says:

I’m not so sure if that’s a good idea Malaga, my Uncle Paddy was at a health and safety meeting this atfernoon and the teacher asked him what would he do if his daughter swallowed his door keys…..he replied he’d climb through the front window !!!

  48. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Hi rico,

I detect an anti Australian sentiment on here. If I’m not welcome because I’m a foreigner who should not have an opinion concerning The Arsenal, just say, & I’ll be on my way.

  49. ScottfromOz says:

GG, that’s not the case mate.
I’ll stand by HH not being that way at all.
Top people and I’ve met some me of the best.
Don’t let my spat with a few members reflect on the majority.

  50. Kel says:

Absolutely not gnarly no one is anti Australian or anti any country certainly not to my knowledge.

Maybe some banter back n fourth but certainly no harm intended imo. ?

  51. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Oh, so its just you giving the Poms a serve Scott 🙂

I’m a refugee from Le Grove who just wants to be around (obviously metorphically speaking, it being a blog) Arsenal people. To those HH’s perennials can I say this, I would never back chat any Pommy Gooner about the club. That’s why I left le Grove after nearly 10 years coz Pedro has gone all ‘Stateside’ with Yanks & an F wit called Joe telling everyone how it is FFS.

Anyway, thanks for the thumbs up Scott.

  52. Kel says:

I’ve 4 family members living in Aussie land lol and my daughter wants to go in a few yrs.. fuck Scott I may have to make friends with you soon enough ??

  53. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Kel

I’m heading back to Blighty for the 1st time in 28 years. When I left, The Arsenal were reigning champions & I hope they are when I get there in September.

  54. ScottfromOz says:

    Kel, is she a looker 🙂 🙂
Nah, people on here are passionate and that often comes through in debates.
Once you meet people face to face, the dynamic really changes and you see them for who and what they really are, and rightly or wrongly, you do have a certain respect for them and your comments reflect that.
At the end of the day, Arsenal brings us together, and we do all have our different opinions on the club…..doesn’t make us right or wrong, though, just different.
I’ve left an open invitation for anyone on here visiting my parts to crash at my place, no matter how we get along on here 🙂

  55. Kel says:

Let’s just say I’m having to bulk up Scott to fend off a few unwanted lads lol..

Yeah I totally get that with the comments it’s easy to blow up and I admit yes I’m a fuckin hot head at times but a good guy all the same ya ever make it to Belfast I’ll buy ya a few.

Oh right Blightly.. id never heard of that.

  56. ScottfromOz says:

Kel, I’ll sink a few with you, anytime and even that other bloke from your parts they call Micko 🙂
I’m bulking up but no through choice hahahaha

  57. Kel says:

Well I hope you find The Arsenal in the same state you left them as champions ?

Sorry i never heard of that term blightly, hey ya learn something new everyday. ?

Guys have a good one, I’m off got work in a few hrs ?

  58. Herb's Army says:

Right Scott, let’s tackle this thorny issue.
If you go back to when I ‘borrowed’ a Le Grove posters summary about the current state of Arsenal, to share on here, you went apoplectic with rage, not with the content, but because of your pure hatred for Le Grove.
You started spewing bile about me not knowing you or not understanding why you hate Le Grove, almost like saying I had submitted the comment to personally wind you up.
It’s okay for you to hate them, it’s your democratic choice, but you can’t expect everyone to hate with your level of passion. That’s like telling someone who loves Marmite they should hate it simply because you do. I stand by what I said, there are some intelligent knowledgeable bloggers on there who know as much about Arsenal as you or I. That is not defending or endorsing those ridiculous posters who wish ill-health or death on Wenger, those people are either sick in the head, or just brain-dead.
And when all is said and done, it was one comment, it’s not as though HH was suddenly being invaded or taken over by Le Grove bloggers, so your reaction was completely out of kilter.
But even allowing for your personal blog tastes, there’s no need for bad manners.
You should learn to have some humility, because none of us are right all of the time.
Blogging is supposed to represent intelligent friendly debate, but if you find my posts offensive or boring, you don’t need to draw yourself to them.
When I posted that particular comment, it was for everyone to digest and make up their own mind, I don’t recall saying ‘This is for the personal attention of Scott, who by the way, absolutely hates Le Grove…’ so for you to take it so personally was a bit odd.
As I said Scott, I recognise your aggressive abbrassive bad-mannered attitude from another Arsenal blog a few years ago, a leopard never changes its spots.
I didn’t and wouldn’t try to get you banned from HH, because coincidently you are quite capable of being polite and pleasant, and many on here value your contribution. Plus of course you have friends on here that you have met. But your behaviour and attitude towards me for posting an Arsenal-related topic was totally unjustified and uncalled for.
It’s strange that you boil with rage at a comment borrowed from Le Grove, yet when one of their contributors show up you’re as polite and calm as you like.
This is your arena, Scott, enjoy.

  59. scottfromoz says:

Herb, I’ve never used the name ScottfromOz anywhere else, so I dare say you’re mistaken there but so be it.
I never suggested you attempted to have me removed, so apologies if you took things that way, but it’s not correct.
I’m not sure who contributes to LG as I haven’t been on that site for years, in fact, I only lasted a day lol, but if you mean GG then I dare say he’s nothing like the LG regulars from my recollection.
Besides, It’s not the contributors I detest, it’s the people running it but that’s been done to death, the rest of us have moved on, found common ground so best we do as well.

  60. potter says:

Has the storm blown over and is it safe to come out now ? Back to topic , I read the Artseblog piece on the Wenger spat last night, I suggest that it’s well worth a read and could be cited in Wenger’s defence.

    Great article, Potter.
I’ve even seen Ozil scream f**k off at refs-shocked us fans more than it did the ref lol
It’s simply frustration due to poor decisions.
It’s hardly Arsenals way to systematically intimidate officials as others clubs/players/managers do.

The next comment I see which is offensive towards another blogger here on HH, the person leaving it, whether it be in jest or not, will go in the bin.

Too much has been left to run on here and that’s my fault. Not any more and that’s regardless of whether I miss the original comment or not when not here.

GG, no anti any country from me or any other person here as far as I know…

Micko, I see the parking of the bus hasn’t gone down well.

    Morning all.

  63. Kel says:

Interesting read that Potter I didn’t realise 5 outta the last 6 red cards issued by Dean have been overturned and Stephen hunt is spot on about him.

If wenger was sent off for saying f**k off then Taylor is obviously very sensitive.. I’ll also wait and see now how the next player or manager who uses f**k off is treated, Taylor is leaving himself wide open here.

Bit like the eduardo dive v celtic, TV got themselves all involved in it uefa issued a ban can’t remember what it was 2 games I think… Arsenal to their credit said no problem as long as every dive is punished the same… few days later eduardos ban was overturned.

    Consistency is key…

  64. scottfromoz says:

Kel, games will finish one on one if they all get sent for swearing lol.
I guess they don’t highlight the fact cards are overturned, which is kind of understandable, but surely it shouldn’t take 5 from 6 to realise there’s an issue with an official.

  65. rico says:

I didn’t realise that about Dean either.

Sky Sports jump on the bandwagon for most things whether truth or not, shame they don’t spend a lot more time in highlighting how poor the referees are in the league…

Still think the FA will throw the book at Wenger…

  66. Kel says:

Well that’s true Scott, basically they allowed dean to have a deciding factor in 6 games this season.

Can’t remember what pundit said it but one pointed out that dean always wants to be centre of attention and he’s absolutely spot on.

It’s not like dean hasn’t had previous to set the alarm bells ringing he’s been a prick for yrs now Arsenals record under him was dreadful once it started to be highlighted it changed a little. He nearly had me thrown of HH to lol when I called him the C word. ?

  67. rico says:

Think it was Souness Kel and he’s right about Dean. A great ref goes through the game unnoticed…

Your choice of word for Dean is apt.. 😉

  68. potter says:

In the courtroom of honor, the judge pounded his gavel
To show that all’s equal and that the courts are on the level
And that the strings in the books ain’t pulled and persuaded
And that even the nobles get properly handled
Once that the cops have chased after and caught ’em
And that the ladder of law has no top and no bottom.

Bob Dylan wrote that in 1965 and the parallels to the Wenger hearing are there for all to see. He will be castigated and hung out to dry . The F.A will pontificate and lay the blame at anywhere but at their own doorstep.
Dylan was of course being sarcastic , just as I am about the F.A and their mandarins.

  69. ScottfromOz says:

    Hahaha Kel.
That’s one word even I’m not game to say on here hahaha
I remember Spuds scoring against us a ew years back and that little bastard skipping with glee.
Amazing he was ever allowed to referee either side again.

  70. rico says:

And let’s not forget Mourinho’s words about Wenger getting away with things more than him. I’m sure the FA will enjoy their moment to make amends…

  71. ScottfromOz says:

Very interesting insight there from a journo.
Plenty would have stuck the boot in, and most managers would not have done the interview imo.
Still, what’s done is done and he will cop some form of penalty, no question.

  72. Kel says:

Like I said the other day Scott, it’ll do him no harm maybe a few games from the stand he might see a few things differently ie monreal getting skinned regularly.

  73. Wavy says:

    Technology…..qed.
The Arseblog comments are absolutely spot on. The fault lies with them and their ostrich like attitude to the use of reviews for game changing events, borders on the level of flat earthers! How many would have expected Wenger to go off on one if he’d had the privilege of the review. He could have seen for himself Le Coq tried to rearrange Barnes’ legs for him. Argument over. What ensued was old Arsene’s purblind eyes leading him to mis interpret what he saw, vis Barnes diving, he didn’t. Angry Wenger complained in good well tried and trusted Anglo Saxon rhetoric! Taylor, the fourth official and former prison guard, took exception to Me Wenger’s colourful language and true to the spirit of the game effected his sending off, Mr Moss bros was only too happy to comply.(He hadn’t sent any one off for at least 30 minutes so he was clearly up for a bit more creative writing after the game)
The ‘shove’ whilst wrong was not, in my view aggressive it was more trying to move the 4th official out of the way so he could witness the end of the game. If anything Taylor was the more threatening, physically and verbally. Approaching the 67 year old in that fashion was almost designed to effect some kind of defensive response and he got it.
Wenger was wrong and his reaction was ill judged but at no point was it dangerous. Taylor too, after a little reflection I suspect would approach the situation differently, if he could turn the clock back. There was fault on both sides.
The cause of all the unrest was plying his trade or rather ploughing a deep furrow on the hallowed Emirates turf. Had he not been so inconsistent, in his decision making, had he had recourse to ‘a second look’ at some of the questionable decisions he made during the game none of the last 5 minutes would have occurred.

My opinion of course and my tainted view of events. None the less the use of technology would have obviated all the chaos at the game. All the falling out. All the aggravation. And, all the consequences!

Morning all. Blue skies. Clear but cold here today.

  74. potter says:

Anyone remember Paul Durkin sending Petit off at Highbury . As I recall Durkin was only about 5 foo t7 ish at least he looked small to Bouldy who he was going to book . As he went forward to Book him he kind of jumped forward towards Petit who put his hands up to fend him off. Durkin then straight redded him and he got a 3 game ban.

  75. Wavy says:

I was at Sheffield We’d the day Allcock got ‘shoved’ over by id Canio and Keown got sent off too. He was standing around just looking ugly….a crime???
I suppose that incident was an example of “when push comes to shove”!
Keown got 3 matches and diCanio, I think got 12.
What can Wenger expect? Keith Hacket reckons he should get 12 matches and be banned from the ground for the duration! Plus a hefty fine, to discourage other offenders with violent tendencies!
We’ll see. …..I wonder where they will find the blame lies. Not the men in black, that’s for sure!

  76. Wavy says:

Just to add. Keown was trying to calm the mayhem that broke out after Allcocks fall. He was trying to separate two players who were intent on knocing three bells out of each other. He was acting a peacemaker not aggressor! FA did nothing to turn it over, even with the use of tv replays.
The referees body corporate really are unbelievably one eyed, or are they quite simply bent?
You have to wonder, don’t you?

  77. Le Coq Monster says:

    Evening all.

I detect an anti-Cornwall sentiment on here and I`m fed up with insinuations of my affection for sheep ! 😆

Delivered to Wreckers in Charlestown today and whilst speaking to the Chef was distracted by a deluded bastard walking in with a wooly Spud hat on and told him to get out and not come in untill he had removed said offensive attire……..preferably under some of Poldark`s pooh !
I then realised it was the owner of the establishment and we carried on our usual banter !………………me having to defend our “luck” of scoring in the 98th min and I put the blame solely on the Burnley Goalkeeper !……not only did he waste time for the extra time, but it is official that from Burnley`s 30% possession …..Heaton was responsible for half of it !…………………..fcuk me, he was even taking free kicks near the half way line next to the linesman and at one stage walked sideways enough to be sitting on Adam`s lap !…………………..please verify Adam ! 🙂

Wish Arsenal had a camera outside the ground to see peoples faces who left early………….and put it up on the big screens after the penalty cheer ! hahaha

  78. scottfromoz says:

    Morning all.
ARSENAL, A CLUB IN CRISIS-can see the headlines now lol
Sheep are a man’s best friend, LC.
Well, they are in Wales and New Zealand 🙂 🙂 🙂

  79. Le Coq Monster says:

This time next week…………………… if we can beat Watford at home and Chavs were to lose at Bindippers it will make the next game versus Chavs interesting to say the least !

It`s the gaelic countries…..or……Celtic Fringe, Scott ! ………………..they just cant resist a well scrubbed up sheep !………and they dont even have to be inebriated from alcohol !……………although by the looks of some of the Celts, the sheep have to be ! hahaha

  80. Wavy says:

Used to have a Kojak box camera…..!
    Coat, I’ve got it on!

How will we win any of our next 6 games when our manager is on his enforced winter break?
The world of Arsenal totters, that’s for sure!

  81. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    ‘If’

“If a face could launch a thousand shits”,

it would have to be Maureen wouldn’t it. He gets my guts rumbling thats for sure!

  82. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Afternoon Rico1 & all,

I remember the term all those years ago (28 to be precise) that things came in threes, like London buses. Well this is relates to the idiots in the world of media who predicted Britain would vote yes to say in the EU; that Hillary Clinton would win & that the 2016/17 PL would be between man city & shitty, oops I mean United. The scribes & has been former players like Craig Burley & Co must be so pissed off, they have reverted to their default position of bagging The Arsenal 🙂

  83. Marshall says:

We always come out and exceed these stupid pundits and journos expectations. To them we are undeserving overachieving bastards from north london who are always above their favourite spuds. Riles them up, they choke on it and I love it!

  84. ScottfromOz says:

    Morning all.
Bugger the media, and what is a pundit, anyway?
Someone paid to offer an opinion, but it’s just an opinion.
    Most of them are muppets.

  85. ScottfromOz says:

Rico, we had a nice, rainy and cool day.
After several plus 40 degree days of late, it’s been a lovely change 🙂
