Coleman, Perez & Arnold summer swoop? Show us what you are made of Arsenal!!

Morning all…

Wolfsburg prodigy Maximilian Arnold who is a 19 year old attacking midfielder is being scouted by both us and Juventus and Everton’s right back Seamus Coleman is reported to be the player Arsene Wenger wants to replace Bacary Sagna. According to a few morning newspapers that is…

Arnold is available for around £8 million, while Coleman will no doubt be valued at more than double that amount but if we as a club are going to be serious in the summer transfer window, get in their first and make both clubs an offer they can’t refuse. Especially when it comes to Seamus Coleman as he’s having a great season with Everton and it’s well documented that they aren’t the most wealthy of clubs and a proper offer might be too hard to resist.

The Metro report that we have already opened talks with Tenerife for their 20 year old striker Ayoze Perez who has scored 10 goals in 21 appearances this season. Hmmmm……

Back to the here and now….

Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Wilshere, Arteta, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Ozil, Giroud, Fabianski, Jenkinson, Gibbs, Rosicky, Gnabry, Podolski and Sanogo.

That’s our squad for tonights fixture.

They are the players who need to restore some faith after the weekends ‘accident’. Accident my Arsenal, it was a horrid and disgraceful showing by most, if not all, including the manager! It’s easy for him to say ‘let’s not forget we had a good run’ before the 5-1 drubbing isn’t it, as we all know, you are only as good as your last game and our last was awful.

Well tonight they all have a chance to restore some respect in themselves, the club and give something good to the fans.

Manchester United are all over the place right now and having seen them beaten on many occasions already this season, this is our chance to finally get that long sought after victory over them.

Arsene Wenger and his players have one of two options tonight, either turn up as they did on Saturday and let all the doubters say ‘I told you so’, or grow a pair, stand up and be counted, and put a 95 minute shift of hard work, commitment, passion and 100% effort and get our club right back on track…

Will soon see what this squad are about and we’ll also see if Arsene Wenger has been watching how those sides who have got one over Moyes or not and is prepared to make the kind of changes/tweaks that will earn us all three points.

And I mean earn!

Results won’t go our way unless the manager and every single player who is called upon tonight put’s in 100% for start to finish and that goes for the rest of the season too.

We all know what happened last night and now it’s back to us to put the pressure on.

Let’s see what you are made of Arsenal…..

  1. AndrewH says:

Morning rico, good post. We need little Rosicky bubbling around making quick passes through the static ManU midfield and defence. TEMPO please Arsenal.

  2. Joaquim Moreira says:

yes, TR must play today. He also defends. if we win today we are in the top of tje Legue again. It’s crucial for Arsenal and for the players mentallity

  3. ArsenalDK says:

Too bad we have to hypnotise the players before they show passion rico 😉
We should be absolutely fired up for this one!
Its about time we beat those tossers….
I for one, will be watching the game on Danish TV

  4. Joywedsjeff says:

Morning all… I believe we will see a reaction today from the boys. If we can keep things tight, we’ll definitely score against that championship defence. I say put Gnabry on Evra to prevent him bombing forward. I’ll reckon he is united’s biggest threat. Whoever starts on the left hand side must track runners all night long. We need to stop those crosses from coming in. Will go for a midfield five of Gnabry(ox), Carzola, Arteta, Rosicky and Ozil.

  5. rico says:

    🙂 Adk,it was just a thought…

If the boys can’t be up to face the Mancs, then they deserve nothing but I think we’ll see a very different side from the weekend…

  6. W.A.T.H says:

Agree with Andrew it’s all about tempo and our games have lacked it for a while… when we play with tempo we’re a different animal otherwise it’s pippy tappy sideways n backwards rubbish and if there no tempo can’t see us winning… If we play with hunger and tempo then good chance we can smash em…!

  7. AndrewH says:

Wath, if we start without that hunger and speed and don’t score within half an hour, their big three will make us pay, can just see it.

  8. rico says:

And the fans Ah, they’ll go quiet and we’ll be in a tricky place again..

Play the Mancs the way we played Napoli, if we can and do, we’ll could easily rip them to shreds…

  9. Joywedsjeff says:

Rico… That would be fantastic as it would render Januzaj/whoever and Evra redundant plus we will also have two good crossers of the ball in case we need a plan A(lol)

  10. tsgh says:

    I echo TR07 starting and Serge too…

Personally I will drop SC19 and start Monreal and Gibbs together and introduce SC19 or Poldi after the break because we are very unlikely to lose these kind of matches in the 2nd half…

    My preferred 11:

    Scez
    Sagna BFG Kos Gibbs
    Arteta
    TR07 Monreal
    Ozil
    Serge
    OG12

    In a 4-1-3-1-1 set-up

  11. ozgunner says:

first 10 will be vital for many reasons – get in at them from the off. Move the ball quickly, work hard and 3-1 easy. End of United head trips 🙂

  12. Adam says:

Morning Rico and all. I, as you know, am not a great fan of Jenkinson and hope that the club have serious plans for a ‘finished article’ RB at the end of the season.
The fans are the lifeblood of the club and they are caught between the screaming desire to actually win something and the increasing realisation, or should I say suspicion, that the sporting ambitions of the club are a distant second to the finances. Quite how they made the decision to increase ST prices is beyond me but I guess they thought that the team’s success this year means it’s a good time to turn the screw.

  13. rico says:

Ts, I can’t see AW dropping Santi, nor can I see him starting with Gnabry, that would require making a decision 😉

  14. Scott from Oz says:

How have they attempted to justify the rise in ST prices, given the recent announcement of a massive kit sponsorship?

  15. ozgunner says:

lets hope we talking team success in May Adam – Long way to go with plenty of potential pit falls to face yet mate – I think the fan base or a large majority of it is still very nervous. They reacted last season big time and those memories are lying under the surface no doubt.

  16. Adam says:

Scott. I don’t believe they have tried- yet, but I imagine they will use the ‘increasing costs of football’ as the stock phrase. It’s nothing new but this year will be extra painful, especially if we don’t win anything.

  17. tsgh says:

🙂 Very true Rico… AW likes Santi who is a very honest and good player but he is not athletic so no matter how he tries I am not convinced these are the kind of games for him especially with our current crop.

SC19 will shine in a Fergie team with 9 hard workers and 2 luxury players…

We have minus Ramsey and Flamini 3 hard workers, 2 snails, 1 lethargic player and 4 luxury players imo… 5 honest guys can’t carry the load for the rest…

  18. Adam says:

Oz. I hope you are right. Ozil was their message that they mean business. Wenger sails on regardless though, hovering above it all in his own little world.

  19. rico says:

    Agree Oz.

Morning Adam. I wouldn’t want to see Jenks at Rb but in front of Sagna he can give us more protection and he does whip a good cross in….

I quite like him so I’m fighting his corner 😉

Only in the January before in a WC year …. lol

  20. ozgunner says:

Adam, we have fed off his arrival for a while, now the questions about him are starting, he needs an attitude shift I think but the team around him does not suit his style IMO – We should have brought a Walcott style option in the window but we loan someone useless to the team effort in the short term instead.

  21. Adam says:

Sorry Rico but I can’t see that one. Jenks has extremely limited powers of concentration for me. He’s willing though. As for whipping crosses in I ask why? If Wenger wanted crosses whipped in he could always buy a winger. He’s has enough time and opportunity.

  22. ozgunner says:

Agree with you on Jenks i prey we don’t hear Wenger talking backup RB’s next season only – he’s not there at present.

  23. tsgh says:

Against Chelsea and maybe BM I will play CJ25 infront of Sagna but not this current Yanited team… I think this match will be like Naploi first game… holding possesion and having players who can work hard and keep the shape is more crucial than stopping a non-existing onslaught imho…

We know from recent history, it will either be a dive by Wooney or a corner kick or a defensive error that will gift Yanited a goal…

If I was Aw, my aim will be to play the game in their half for majority of their half without having JW or Ox to dwell on the ball in dangerous areas who may concede possesion in dangerous that may lead to a counter attack with us caught 3 v 3 at the back…

  24. tsgh says:

Re. Ozil non-performance, I think it is more to do with SC19’s/JW starting position when we have the ball that is the issue…

SC19, Ox, JW all like to come deep for the ball whilst when TR07 and AR16 are playing they form a triangle high up in the opposition area and allow Ozil to come for the ball in a deeper position.

Ozil palyed a lot of good games initially without Theo before Theo came back from injury before christmas…

You can’t play a midfield 3 or 5 with all the palyers in a linear formation imho… it makes opposition job very easy.

Players must be able to form triangles… i.e tactical aware of what is around them…

  25. rico says:

That’s right Adam and feature in our pre-season.

I know it’s wrong and a club like ours shouldn’t be in such a situation but I hope the guy stays fit and starts scoring goals…

    Thanks Tsgh.. Phew.

  26. rico says:

That’s not cynical Adam, it’s fact, Jenks was cheap, very cheap..

I like him though, not quite there yet but….

My own little thought is he’ll end up at CB…

  27. W.A.T.H says:

I think your all miserable bastards………..

Poor Jenks, nothing wrong with the lad..! Needs to play to improve..! I remember Razor being called brainless and a headless chicken and not good enough…!

  28. Lewis says:

Have our team got it in them to beat a poor Utd and get back to the top of the league?!

Has to be three points, anything less not good enough.

  29. Adam says:

    Rico. 🙂
I admire a man who has taken care of himself like Ruddock.
I’m not miserable Wath, just hesitant and doubtful as where the team/club is heading. And a little sad as well.

  30. frednerk says:

Not saying Jenks is better than sagna
But Jenks is better going forward than sagna,
his reading of the game is behind for this level at the moment,
for the U/21’s he looks a class above any of the players in that squad.
What he has is a passion for The Arsenal.
    and that you can’t buy.

  31. ozgunner says:

Play the team tonight not fergies old dominance and we’ll be good to go top of the league. They have nothing, as they are constantly proving. It’s surely only our poor history against them that has us concerned. OK and Wengers tactics maybe 🙂

  32. W.A.T.H says:

That’s why I’d play him in front of Sagna Fred, to bomb forward and with his energy he gets back to support Sagna as well. Just a thought.

Adam you been sad since King Syrup rode into town….!

  33. ozgunner says:

W.A.T.H. giving them to much respect. Get out there, move the ball and rip into them – Rosicky, Caz and Pod for me

  34. tsgh says:

Agree Fred… you can’t beat passion for the club…

Sometimes it is not about quality only…

A typical example will be Eboue/Maicon vs Gary

Gary admits himself he was a very limited player but he had passion and could read the game…

Eboue had all the skills to be voted into the UCL team of 2006 but we know he did not have the brains as a defender at least not in this league…

Maicon has teh engine and skills but I won’t apy for him to play as a defender in my sunday league team… lol

  35. frednerk says:

We need to reach the level we had for the Napoli, liverpool(home),spuds games.
We have 3 games at home now,we have to get back to our best to win these games.

Made a statement yesterday about the backbone of foreign players at away grounds.
Chelsea left out Terry.Cole and fat frank last night and hung on for a draw in the end.

  36. W.A.T.H says:

Oz use Jenks to get into them… Poldi to slow…! I’d go 442… I’d also play Gibbs in front of Monreal to get down the wings and get at em as you say, Jenks isn’t my choice to show them respect it’s to get at em… Evra is a yard dog get at him…! Then bring on Gnabry or Ox to play wide and proper give it to them for the whole game…!

    Lee, Valium not blue……..???

  37. Woody says:

    Afternoon all…

Massive game today. I don’t think I’d be dropping Santi today, he’s been on good form at home in recent weeks. Indeed I believe he is nominated for player of the month, so he’s in my team.

If anyone needs a rest it’s Ozil. I’d be tempted to go with Santi, Rosicky and Gnabry/Poldi behind Giroud tonight.

Ozil can come on a bit fresher if we need him in the second half. Especially if we are winning. At the moment he needs to learn the pace of the English game. Everytime he gets the ball he slows the game down – even when were on a counter attack.

That might work in Spain where it’s really slow for 90% of the game, but not here where it’s really fast for 90% of the game.

  38. EFCS says:

A proper offer for Coleman would be 20m+, we’re skint but we never sell cheap.. Fellaini, Lescott, Rodwell etc. Suppose Arteta at 10m was a better deal for you than us though haha.

  39. rico says:

He’d be in mine too Woody, but then they all would 😉

Our lights keep going up and down so if I disappear, you know why.

  40. frednerk says:

Just to pass on a bit of info regarding season tickets and silver memberships.
We jacked our season tickets/silvers in last season,
and to be honest after the Villa game felt pleased with our-selfs.
But wenger then broke the habit of a life-time and spent more money on one player than anybody could have imagined.
    So far its working..Great.
So me and the lads were a bit pissed off.
8 years not really competeing for the League,we now seem to be cracking on.
We took a chance and called the ticket membership office.
Call it what you like No waiting list or loyalty…….we got the season tickets back (diff seats) and the silvers back for this season.

  41. Bob John says:

    Hi Rico,
    re: 11.24
Can’t ever see Jenks as a centre-back to be honest. He’s one of the worst headers of a ball I’ve ever seen. Think he’s done ok when he’s had a run of games to get up to speed at full-back though.

  42. rico says:

EFCS, I agree re Coleman, hence my comment in the post about him. He’s a top player and they don’t come cheap..

Hi Bj, Maybe I’m thinking too much like Arsene Wenger. lol I do think the more he plays the more confidence he gets and his performances improve….

  43. NashuaGunners says:

    Good Afternoon Rico and All.

“Well tonight they all have a chance to restore some respect in themselves, the club and give something good to the fans.” My gut feeling tells me they will, Rico.

Woody, I agreed with you re:Ozil. Let him stay in the bench and see how it done. Taking two to three players at a time knowing that they are going to crowd you when you have the ball, and when you fall it take ages for you to get up and help to defend, is another thing.

Three points for us tonight; anything less would be uncivilize.

  44. AndrewH says:

Just read the Daily Mirror in a cafe and surprised to read a good and very fair article on Arsenal. The fact the Emirates could be like a Volcano simmering but waiting to explode is not because Arsenal fans are fickle. But years of frustration then under spending even now the cash is there has left its toll. On the other hand, a win tonight against our main rival, and all will be well…… for now.

  45. NashuaGunners says:

The Under Spending could drive any fan banana. Fans are fickle when it comes to players joining Arsenal. But, the message is loud and clear, ‘if the money is there and the team is in need of players, what the use of keeping the money in the bank then humiliated in the pitch for the whole world to see, it doesn’t make sense.

What the use of going to Chelsea at almost the end of the TW for BA and fail and then didn’t addressed the issue the next TW when the problem still exist? You become complacence when you think you have a job for life. Because when you not sure of your position you try to do everything possible within your power to secure your position. Especially, when the means are there.

  46. frednerk says:

If the club are saying..We have a waiting list and are charging the fans to join the queue…It must be loyalty rico…
    then again who knows.

  47. Woody says:

It sure won’t, but given Uniteds recent record this should be the weakest United team we’ve faced in a long time.

They are come what of a bogey team of ours though, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they got something.

  48. Woody says:

I have to say, I wasn’t too worried about the fact that we lost to Liverpool, the manner of the defeat yes, but not the loss.

Really all big team should expect to win their home games, if we manage a draw and a win at home then 4 points off a rival compared to their 1 is good.

The manner in which we lost does make you think that we are still vunerable, even after having so many good defensive games this season. You just don’t see other tops teams do that.

On a positive note, this is the second time this season that pundits have said that we will know more about Arsenal after these few games – win tonight and we go top.

If that’s the case we would have been questioned twice and both times still been top of the league at the end of it, so even after losing at Liverpool it’s not the end of the world.

  49. Woody says:

Yeah but we never really do that well at OT – I know we look back on 0-0 draws like wins, but there aren’t that many wins really.

    98, 02, 06 – missed any?

I think that’s it for Wengers reign.

  50. potter says:

Fergie was one of the managers that worked Wenger out , when we had a team of better players things were tactically harder for him but subsequently as the standard of Wenger’s players diminished he found it easier to pick Wenger’s teams off.Tonight we play a different United , we need a different approach to get a different outcome.

  51. tsgh says:

Arsenal team to play Man United: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Arteta, Wilshere, Rosicky, Ozil, Cazorla, Giroud

    Predictable team…

  52. tsgh says:

    A tactical selection

United XI: De Gea, Rafael, Smalling, Vidic, Evra; Valencia, Cleverley, Carrick, Mata; Rooney, van Persie

Hoping for a 2-1 win; but will settle for 1-1

    JW and Ozil

  53. tsgh says:

Manchester City’s V Sunderland has been called off because conditions are deemed ‘unsafe’…

Typical….So Aguero and Fernandinho can be fit to help $hitty win…

    Conspiracy!

  54. DutchGooner10 says:

    Evening Goonerdom Worshipers.

Madam how are the water levels in your neighborhood? Hope all is well and any damage limited to a minimum.

  55. rico says:

    Evening Ts/Dg

I am very lucky where I am Dg, many roads are flooded and travel is difficult and our fencing has been battered and knocked over but that’s nothing compared to what others are suffering. It’s horrid….

  56. rico says:

Great lay by Ozil, who looked up expecting Giroud to make a run…. Nothing!

    Very high places Ts….

potter, he’s not big full stop, apart from his mouth…

  57. rico says:

Ox, Gnabry or pod need to come on and we sure need to start taking a few shots at goal..

And for goodness sake, drive at their shabby defence, it will crumble…

  58. potter says:

Too slow through the middle , maybe we will get 10 minutes of Sanogo.
Gibbs , Rosicky and Ozil have all have had to check back before putting over the final pass . Need more pace than Giroud.

  59. rico says:

I wonder Potter, at least he has some pace….

Ah, better organised at the back, but up front, we offered little. Actually, make that nothing….

Arteta has been caught on the ball a few times though, he’s not the player he was….

  60. AndrewH says:

So the players we need then are Flam, Ramsey, Walcott, Gnabry, Pod!!! Anyone whos not playing. Even Sanago, LOL

  61. potter says:

Arteta has fulfilled his time with us as far as I am concerned . Captain of the Capital and F.A teams. We need more pace throughout.

  62. W.A.T.H says:

Has 2 b said why is Wenger so gutless in making substitutions to beat a really shit manc side…. pathetic…!

  63. W.A.T.H says:

That just sums up why we won’t win anything….

Why so gutless in out ambition to actually win a game against a really shit manc side… As i said earlier pathetic…!

  64. W.A.T.H says:

Anyone happy with that result is in cuckoo land….!
Mancs set up to defend and we were not good enough to break them down…! No width no speed up front nothing in front of the midfielders to pass to.

  65. rico says:

Wath. We were shocking, Wenger was gutless with his lack of changes. Giroud was having a mare, get him off and get Pod on…

Five mins to go, throw Sanogo on as he has pace..

Wenger has lost all that he once had imho….

  66. goonster says:

what a load of shit….cant believe i ditched my friends to watch that shower of shit….seriously is this the championship winning team??? i doubt it. afternoon folks#seething

  67. bradster says:

That makes us 3 points ahead of Liverpool. How far is Totenham behind? Any of the top 5 can be champs or not even cl next season

  68. W.A.T.H says:

Ts, thing is they shit… we looking to win the league… We showed zero ambition from the management to win the league sorry but his gutless streak always shows when it really matters…!
We can all moan about Giroud but to be fair he put himself about yet has no real support…! We have midfielders who all try and do the same thing yet we have no players who get in behind a defence and when the bus is parked we useless… nothing much changes in 8 years eh…!
    Even Stoke beat the mancs….

  69. stevepalmer1 says:

    Evening all,
A point against United, better than i thought. I think we can kiss goodbye to winning a game in the league against the top teams we haven’t the fire power, but if we keep winning the smaller games the league may still be a possibility. We have no teeth up front against the better sides and although i wouldn’t put United in that catagory just yet, they have the edge in our minds. Still just a point behind Chelsea but still up there. We haven’t many options up front but it is quite obvious that Girouds pace is not going to help us a lot in this type of game, so we either have Nick or Sanogo take your pick. But were still trying.

  70. goonster says:

tell me about it WATH….arsene should be ashamed of himself. 8 million a year for this dross? christ in heaven.

  71. NashuaGunners says:

When we don’t have the money we try to “turn tractors to ferraris”, now that we have the money “there are no world class players”.

  72. snaparse says:

was hoping for a better performance than Liverpool so I can’t complain……..what has poldi done to Wenger?++??

  73. Joaquim Moreira says:

Mourinho is to laugh … The teams have already figured out how to play against Arsenal : give us the initiative to close the game and well outside the penalty area . How Arsenal plays based on short diagonals and small tables , playing in front of the Arsenal and expect the error to lnçar the counterattack . against Liverpool with fast players was the debacle ; against Chelsea can be ; against MU can also be , as Valencia , Dani , were with speed …
Well, the Arsenal team . Explain to me (who segunte ) the following :
    a) The right side does not work because Sagna plays alone. If the model implemented in Arsenal ‘s Sagna – TW have the right and it works, it’s not natural to missing TW , Sagna is Gnaby – even if not the same ? No change in game model that has been successful ?
b ) The same is true on the left side . Attacking the flanks without having a defense and an average / advanced to attack and defend and complement , makes no sense. And is not attack from both sides the same . Is taking turns .
c ) In my opinion and I have said , we have the most players to do the same thing, which is to lead the game . This implies that overlap in space and imagination of each. JW SC Ozil and TR 4 can not play simultaneously. The whole team is unbalanced and none excels in performance….
A team must be balanced, even though theoretically the best players do not play (personal opinion).
    e) Performance: Giroud tired, glare, missed a table. Solution: Bendtner, JW How is it possible to have the game to the end: Ozil does not move to come back to get the ball to Organizr game, Gibbs was the best Arsenal?. Szesc has given us points. If we had a few years ago, had already been champions.
Mata also defends bit. Obviously that does not fit the scheme of Mourinho, who preferred to lose a great player to make way for a large gap in the team, allowing you to balance the team and earn points and games.

  74. stevepalmer1 says:

Giroud is not the only player coming up short, Giroud holds the ball well but we have no runners which we need if Giroud is to be our CF, He has the touch but not the speed so he needs runners on either side to lay the ball off but no one runs, his only option is to either pass back or wait for the foul.

  75. tsgh says:

Sp1 I am still awaiting your count on how many times Jw went to the ground?lol

Our fb’s were very good today.

What hurts me is that we have a young German who can do what Ramsy does and bobby use to do…but AW does not fancy him.
Not talking about Gideon or Serge btw…

  76. W.A.T.H says:

U think we can beat shitty Ts… by that time we could be 5th…..!
Eisfeld don’t even make the bench Ts… wonder who he has pissed off…!

  77. potter says:

And probably not for much longer SP. The club has hit a crossroads . We are now financially sound and must decide how to go forward .Currently we are always about to be the best of the rest but never best of the best

  78. kel says:

bad game tonight, but after shipping 5 against liverpool, not conceding tonight will help build the confidence again, anyone who thought we would beat utd by 3/4 etc was getting a bit carried away imo, both teams were nervous and canceled each other out, personally i think if Ramsey and Theo were playing we would have won, but without them we are toothless in attack and it aint gonna change anytime soon so imo we just have to soldier on and make sure we stay in the top 4 now, next 3 league games…

    H sunderland A stoke, H swansea…

  79. ozgunner says:

so we’ve gone from having accidents to being nervous – not getting this run in right at all are you Arsene – instead of focussing on what’s in front you might need to watch behind you my son –

  80. kel says:

in fairness oz getting destroyed 5-1 four days ago, and then your up against utd with rooney and vp two players who really seem to enjoy scoring against us, nerves inevitability kick inn, it’s just the way it goes, it’s a fight for 3rd/4th now imo, the team is flat, with zero pace and has little penetration, and that imo is due to wengers pathetic performance in the transfer windows.

agree Kel – “he’s one of best finishers i have ever seen” Wenger on Pod – uummm ok then, it’s 0-0 we’re offering little and we’re at home against a team struggling to put points on the board – make sense?

  82. kel says:

the only thing i can think of oz is he wants hm v liverpool, but it still doesn’t make sense as you say, even with 15 mins to go get him on fs giroud could still be playing and nowhere nearer scoring, i like the guy good work rate and all that, but after 60 mins of missing everything, why not try podolski!!

  83. ozgunner says:

and there you have the Wenger story of the last 8 years my friend, I expect this season to end no differently than usual to be honest. Giroud is a good off the bench and cup player and nothing more in my opinion. We’ll finish the season with his supporters (Wenger) declaring he’s only one of two transfers off a real deal team… how old is this line getting 🙂

  84. kel says:

it’s frustrating oz, and that’s how i see it to, we done well and have punched above are weight imo but the last few performances have been really average right back to the villa game a few wks ago, a few shrewd moves in the transfer window in jan, would have worked wonders imo, may not have won us the league, but might have kept the momentum going as well as the feel good factor, personally i think we have lost both ie the Ramsey/Theo injuries have had a serious impact, then no activity in the TW.. finished with a heavy defeat imo has left us looking flat/tired imo.

on that note im off for the night oz, i’ll catch up with ya over the next few days im sure.

  85. Scott from Oz says:

    Liverpool….never.
They will hit a slump as all sides do.
Morning Lewis….the replay is on late here, so see how i go 🙂
I missed it live due to work…who invented that, anyway?

  86. Lewis says:

Morning Scott. Our next 4 league games should be maximum points! Add in an FA Cup win and a result against Bayern and we’re laughing. Not too much to ask is it?!

  87. Adam says:

Morning Oz. Yep. It’s been heading south for a while now. Frustrating stuff and some big games coming along very soon too.

  88. Scott from Oz says:

    Morning guys.
Lewis, i will take 10 points and Cup win.
    CL….i couldn’t give a rats, to be honest 🙂

  89. stevepalmer1 says:

    Morning all,
Many supporters this morning saying the game was crap last night, I felt it was a vast improvement than against Liverpool the weekend. We are talking about a team that have been champions for years and who are still the reigning champions, I feel a draw against them was a good result. I expected a loss but am happy with the draw. We seem to have a hangup with Wenger and the transfer windows. Were in second place and the hatred for our manager seems odd to me. Why he hasn’t brought players mystifies me but i dont believe that we are rolling in cash as has been portraid. Buying a centre forward in the TW i feel wouldn’t have won our game last night, we would need more than that as our flanks are empty. Midfielders coming out of our arses but no wingers in sight. When you look at our players on paper they look very good but off paper none of them like breaking forward. i counted nine United players in their box last night and one of ours, its all about players going forwards, Wenger can tell them to go forward but its a bit like taking a horse to water you can’t make it drink.
