Morning all.
Just another game away from home and another really awful performance, until the last twenty minutes.
Bellerin had a nightmare in defence which allowed Bournemouth to take the lead, Xhaka showed inexperience to give away a penalty and then I still don’t know how the home team was allowed to score a third…
At that stage of the game, I’d have felt like walking away from the ground to head home. After all, it would be a long trip back from the south coast. 3-0 down and as far as I was concerned all was lost but somehow, we recovered to grab a draw from a game we really didn’t deserve to. Bournemouth were lively and at it, Arsenal were all over the place and out of ideas.
Alexis started the come back, Lucas grabbed a second and the big Frenchman secured a point. A special mention for Lucas though as his goal was simply stunning, as was Xhaka’s cross for Ollie’s goal. He did pretty well too to keep the ball in play for Alexis for our first… But the Swiss international can’t take a corner for toffee!
Eddie Howe must be waking up this morning wondering how on earth his side surrendered a 3-0 lead. I’m still wondering how we managed a grab a point.
Just as I was about to rant, I read a comment from Scott, so here it is, his view on all things which are wrong:
‘Sanchez is gone at seasons end, Yes, I know everyone is rapt up in him, but if anyone tell me his effort, work rate and enthusiasm is what it was months back, then they’re blind. He wants out, so let him go and don’t tell me he’s tired because he had an abundance of energy when we were back in the game.
I mean, isn’t he the top of player with the winning attitude who deserves 300k a week?
I said it went Nasri and the likes left. These guys are happy to cop the big pay packet, yet are also happy to leave for more money citing the fact they’re “leaving for trophies”, yet that is why they were brought in, in the first place!!!
Sorry, and again, I know I’ll be in the minority, but he is a great player, but very selfish and very petulant when things are not going well. How anyone can blame someone other than Bellerin for the first goal is just outrageous. Ball watching….Ramsey???? What was Hector watching – his mum in the stands?? Then, to compound his pathetic positioning, he charges in, gets stood up and the goal results.
Xhaka was sucked in for the penalty, outsmarted like a Sunday pub Footballer. The attacker took a sideways step in front of him and he sticks his arm up?? Silly boy.
Yeah yeah…Wenger out blah blah blah, but for goodness sake, when will some of you start having a crack at the guys earning a shed load of money each week yet making schoolboy errors and don’t waste your time telling me it’s the coaching because that’s rubbish, and you know it.
Now, on to Wenger. Half time, a sub was needed. 2-0 down and he wait until it’s 3???? Bloody hell, what’s that all about?
When Coquelin came off, Ox going on was fine but why not play him deep and give us some much needed drive from the back?? Poor, poor tactics and we only got out of this because Eddie Howe went into safety mode, which suits us brilliantly. 3-0 so why change tactics? Seems the original game plan was working, but I’m glad he did lol.
Referee stuffed up on their third goal as it was a definite foul on Hector, but depending what angle he saw from, we can’t be too harsh, and let’s face it, it didn’t really cost us anything as we didn’t deserve anything.
From Wenger down to everyone’s favourites and villains, we were terrible apart from Mustafi and I’d even give a Giroud a pass mark.’
There you have it….
Apologies if any comments get stuck in moderation as I’m not around much this morning…
Good read Rico…
One small point of note. Ox has been played in the deeper position/central position in the past and he has always flopped
That clip of Sanchez ranting at Ramsey doesn’t look good for the ‘cohesion’ of the team huh. Well besides it being vulgar I support it fully. We always say how we need a TA in the team. Looking back to the few games I watched him play I never saw Tony Adams mincing his words to a ‘dead weight’ being carried by the team.
Players like Sanchez, Suarez CR7 are winners, they like winning and if in their opinion they see a certain player is dragging them down, they will express themselves. And South Americans really like to express their emotions.
Yes he irks me when he wants to take on an entire defence instead of a simple pass and I feel he’s always looking to pass to Ozil but for a player with 10 assists (I think the highest at arsenal) please tell me again how Sanchez is selfish.
Scott- as per usual I tend to concur
I cant grasp why sections of fans keep believing any over paid player needs a ‘man manager’ to motivate them?
When those ex-pros on TV keep repeating that phrase and mention the likes of Harry and Fat Sam as top team managers or man managers it makes me wonder.
Ts in the previous post you mentioned AS should look at himself too for missing a chance, well they happen. Not everytime an attacker scores with his shot especially at arsenal. He’s scoring goals, he’s assisting, puts in a shift what else would we ask of him?
I was expecting Xhaka to be a Kroos type of midfielder, he hasn’t been bad off but he’s pretty average especially for the value Wenger bestowed on him.
Marshall- Imho, a winner/top player is only as good as the team around him is… I guess it is a chicken and egg situation.
I have followed Sanchez since he was at Udinese and he has always been a bit of a ‘selfish’ player
At Udinese Di Natali use to tell him off all the time on the pitch; No one can question his AS07’s attitude but I wonder if he will be the same do it all if he was at BM, RM or Barca.
Lets compare Suarez’s attitude or style when he was at Liverpool and wanted out to how he now plays at Barca… imho I see a vast contrast.
We have a squad of fair players in midfield but no absolute specialists. The on field discipline is not good enough. It’s not just one or two but the whole collective . When things go wrong they go badly wrong and nobody seems to take control to stem the tide. They should not have to wait for a break to regroup. It should be done in play.
Agreed there Marshall re your 10:27am. re Xhaka.
You were right to assume Xhaka was going to be like Kroos. As mentioned sevral times on here even before we signed him; Xhaka is never a runner and needs runners around him; in fact at M’gladbach he was played at the base of the diamond formation in front of the back 3 if kramer was not playing.. I suspect for that reason.
First mistake ts.. comparing Arsenal to Barca , Real, Bayern…. nowhere near them.
Sanchez is a big fish in a small bowl m8… whether we like it or not he’s the best we’ve got.
Maybe he’s trying to do it all himself as Xhaka Ramsey, Ox, Walcott ain’t up to much.
Wenger is the problem, lazy ass players can be replaced by a new forward thinking manager…
Morning All
Sorry rico But:
From my chair Bellirin was in the correct postion
for the first goal.
Bould would have coached him to track over’
then show him inside..On his wrong foot.
It’s called in the coaching world ..Directing Traffic.
Ramsey should have covered that run and then
doubled up with Bellirin.
The push on Bellirin(pen) was the same as the Granite push.
Not saying he played well.Though.
Sanchez is in a different league..It’s called I hate losing.
How can you compare him with Nasri.
What’s any different,these day’s
we have a new lot of new player’s…………….don’t we.
Is it any of these the reason for us falling short?

Can anyone think of anything else?
Just to clarify I am not slating Ozil or Sanchez at all..
All I am trying to say is that those players should not think that they are bigger than Arsenal.
Those 2 players will not walk into RM and Barca starting XI and possibly even BM’s team.
If rumours are to be believed Messi wanted Sanchez out of the Barca team for one simple reason. He held onto the ball too long… as they say ‘everyone one has a master’
In the last 3 games how many free kicks have we had that requires a left footer to take but Sanchez had chosen to take it instead?
At any other bigger club I bet he wont even do that…
Agree Fred comparing Sanchez to Nasri is a strange one polar opposites fs…
Frednerk is right that would be exactly how he has been coached by Bould! It’s defending 101. Ramsey should have been in position to close it out.
You need to be comparing us to Liverpool, utd, Spurs ts… that’s the level we’re at…
Sanchez and Ozil would walk into those teams.
Kel- you are right that Sanchez is a big fish with us at least you admit we are not in the same league as those teams
Conversely, if he thinks he is better than us then he should move on imho…
When Sanchez goes through his drought in late January to March as he has done since 2009
As good as Sanchez has been assists and goals scored, has the team improved under him in terms of points collected at this stage of the season as compared to the last 4 seasons at week 18? we are 1 point better off than 4 years ago and worst off compared to last season…
ha ha ha Kel.. good one
I was gonna say to you about Sanchez ts.. come February I remember speaking about it the last 2 yrs he hits a brick wall and doesn’t score…
No I know we haven’t improved pts ways or tbh performance ways on last season or as you say the last 4 seasons.. all the more reason to try something new ie manager!! We can keep changing players but as you’ve pointed out nothing is changing
As for Sanchez thinking hes bigger than the club, does he think that though? Could he not be frustrated and he simply doesn’t hide it.
Rather than lose him we should be building a team with him..
Hi all and Happy 2017
I turned over to watch POG Dogs at 2-0. Thought another Southampton was on the cards. At that stage Sanchez had played 3 or 4 passes for angled runs that just didn’t come off.
My main point is about the line up and Sunday’s substitutions. Why take Elneny off when he is flying out to Gabon? Should have got a full 90 out of him. Same with Perez. He hasn’t played much so surely he is fresher than Sanchez.
On to last night. Why drop Gabriel when we had two clean sheets and he was getting a run in the team and improving game by game? Why leave Perez out when he looked good on Sunday? Bet he would have tracked Daniels for the first goal.
As for Ozil. Does anyone really believe he is ill?!!!
Tre Kel I think we over estimate how good arsenal is. But we are not in the top shelf of RM, BM Barca, these are perennial UCL semi finalists. It’s been more than a decade since we hit those heights.
Sanchez has his flaws but he mostly comes good in the end. I’d like to hear a better attacker than him at arsenal- in the current squad.
Kel- Agreed there re. new manager/new direction.
If it works hooray; if we do as Monaco, Marseille, Ajax, PSV, Barca, RM, BM , Liverpool, Milan and Yanited have done or did after changing influential mangers like AW, Fergie, Cruyff (R.i.P), Saatchi, Vicente, Capello then we have to weather the storm
*True.
I wonder how anyone of you would feel if you gave 100 at the pitch then you’re forced to play with a player who you clearly know (from the training ground) is maybe shit and is played out of position while there could be a better player there. Yet the manager/fans expects you to perform miracles.
BobJ- re Ozil I made a commented on here before Christmas that with his Bundesliga friends going on winter break; he was due a fast sickie… 🙂
Since Ozil has been here he has had a covert winter break every season;
that reminds me of Cesc getting the same preferential hamstring break in January in his last 3 or 4 seasons with us; is that being cynical? 😛
Mustaphi a pass? He was appalling and lucky to have remained on the pitch after a series of amateurish challenges and blatant fouls. And don’t get me started on his passing!
Before the game, we would’ve all said that Mustafi – Kos combination is our best and Mustafi is able to bring the ball out from the back.
So I’m sure, everyone, like me is thinking we should play Mustafi in a vital win game.
On sanchez rollicking, someone has to give it (Wenger certainly won’t) and I doubt Sanchez will be allowed to in the dressing room.
Weathering the storm It’s part of football I suppose I personally wouldn’t compare replacing wenger to replacing ferguson utd have dropped from a winning position of PL titles and success in the CL.
We are looking for an injection of fresh ideas to help us compete for title we might win we might not but top 4 is success at Arsenal these days.
BTW I don’t lay all the blame at wengers door we have a poor owner who doesn’t give a fuck either.
Although Chelsea had no problems changing manager.. spurs changed for the better.. and I think klopp is a good fit for Liverpool.
Change isn’t always to be feared.
Catch up later guys…
Big player’s………..Big Ego’s
Most have..
That’s life Ester.
Give me another Sanchez..Anyday Please.
Nurse.
Good day everyone from a quiet Cornwall.
I was watching BBC news last night when Wenger in an interview mentioned our…..” Mental Strength ” in the second half !…………………I then proceeded to kill every living thing within a 100 yards of my property ………………….did I say it`s quiet around here today ?
Thank fcuk we have …”Mental Strength” as a team !………..without it we would be 9 points instead of 8 points behind Chelsea …..if Chavs win tonight, we will only be 11 points behind instead of 12, so still in the title race………….thank fcuk for our ” Mental Strength !……..it really cant be emphasised how important and how lucky we are to have a team full of “Mental Strength” players !
Right off to explore further than a 100 yards of my property !……right !….knuckledusters…check…..baseball bat….check…,.sawn off….check……..barbed wire strap on…..check…………………………………………
Afternoon
Embarrassing first hour of the game. .
Young Hector had a mare. .all goals came from his side.
I give him a break because he was outstanding against Palace.
Tactics, lack of cover and players attitude all part of the dismal..
Sanchez is our star player..without his efforts we wouldn’t even be here discussing our title chances or in reality our top 4 .
I tried to find one thing positive to say about Rambo contribution this season and I couldn’t find one.
Sitting here and diverting the discussion about whether Sanchez is a big fish or small worm really irks me..
What he did in his previous clubs don’t concern me much ..it’s obvious that without him we are useless.
If he has any bad habits or faults it’s wenger’s job to coach it out of him .
After all he did coach good habits out of certain players..
De ja vu of what we were arguing about regarding Fabreas, Nasri and RVP, when it was rumoured they were departing .
Those players were big assets for the club and should have never been let go if the club acted the right way.
Moral of the story we should do everything to keep the likes of Sanchez happy even if it means let go the likes of Ramsey .
Wenger complaining about fixtures that he was well aware of weeks ago, before the game, sent out a negative message…
It’s all about managing your resources, using substitutions to save legs…
I just hope that Koscielny hasn’t aggravated something?
Not sure why he dropped Paulista, especially after 2 clean sheets?
I notice that there’s been a lot of Twatter chatter on Girouds celebration and comparing it with how Sanchez reacted…
Well, if you’re 3-0 down and you score to make it 3-1 you are not gonna go into one, are you?
But I bet if Sanchez had scored the 3rd that he would have danced around quite a bit.
I know that Giroud looked a bit of a knob but he wasn’t the only one in our team doing the conga….
Afternoon All btw…
Afternoon Rico…
Question: When Ramsey is out of the team, do we really miss him???
Kev,
Answer: NO
I feel the major reason for sanchez’ annual drop in form is likely due to wenger flogging him to death and not enforcing a break on him. Just another example of Le Profs inability to manage a squad.
He is the major driving force in this team and our best player and everything should be done to secure him at the club for his best years! If that includes getting rid of ramsey because he thinks hes crap then so be it.
With all due respect to others, I have watched the game 4X since yesterday and I been trying to figure out what people actually be watching? 1. First goal was not Bellarin fault, watch the entire build up rather than the last 5 seconds. Iwobi and Ramsey switched positions but I guess they had forgotten that, B’mouth starts the build up with Iwobi still on the wing Ramsey peeks and as always goes into the middle. Iwobi follows him oops we all saw the rest; but then when Bellerin gets there instead of just holding his ground he foolishly lunges. Scond goal was an individual mistake by Xhaka and the third was a fool that wasn’t called….. the idea that Arsenal was outplayed is an over reaction. They tried things that didn’t come off but came off in the last 25 mins. There were no difference in effort. 2. I have said here several times that Sanchez slows down the attack, not the least of it is his multiple touches on every play. Fact, Pep said he sold him because of that reason. I know many of you here don’t like international football, but watch Chile, you will see the constant bickering between him and Vidal, and at times Vargas who is as quiet as they come because he holds the ball. “He’s the best player we have”, and the point is, by what measure? In the opinion of many here, most of our players are not good enough. Hence even on the bad teams some one has to score and some one has to get assist….3. Sanchez and Ozil walk into Real, Barcelona or BM. Really? Watch the games people. I reckon they don’t even walk into Juve or PSG starting eleven, and Ozil is one of my favorite ….4. What happened to all those who were saying Ramsey is ineffective because he was being played out of position. The problem which I have said so many times is Ramsey is crap no matter where you play him. If he’s in the 10 role he’s doesn’t make the right runs and if you play him deep he makes too many runs and expose the defense. Never mind the fact that he has one of the highest turnover rate. My issue is that Arsenal fan are so fickle it’s unbelievable, sure Arsene should go, yes Ramsey is crap, but we have known this for a while; but some of the assessment here is totally inaccurate.
Kev. I make you right. The club is screaming out for change. Loudly.
Obi.. i think you’ve picked it up wrong Ts said Ozil and Sanchez would not get in Bayern, Barca, Real…. and i agreed.
I said They would get in utd, Spurs, Liverpool Chelsea teams…
Obi- well said..
One rare disagreement I have is that Ramsey is not as crap but very tactically naïve seeing as he is ‘British’ football educated.
When he played with tactical players like Rosicky and Arteta talked to; Unfortunately none of our players bar Ozil are tactical on the pitch.
Re’ Sanchez well that Copa America final says it all
Bravo; Beausejour, Medel, Jara, Isla; Vidal, Aranguiz, Diaz; Fuenzalida, Sanchez, Vargas.
Sanchez ran his socks off but in the end he was subbed and Vidal, Aranguiz, Medel stayed the cause; plus it was a team effort
In my view one of Ramsey’s best and matured game was in Fulham vs us 3 or so years back.
Even Klopp and Pep commented about the fluidity of the midfield 2 of TR07 and Ramsey in the pivot
Kev- unfortunately Ramsey has made himself dispensable; saying that how many goals have we scored from midfield compared to our rivals?
Lets try and analyse our predicament and for that I`ve invited a world renowned specialist and part time white van driver…..me….to explain !
Since we last won the league we have seen many changes in football, but just taking the EPL into account, we have seen mega money come into the game through TV and sponsorship, then there`s the small clubs that got big through multi-billionaire owners AKA Chavs and Citeh !………….we got a new stadium……WHam got a new stadium,,,,,Spuds building a new stadium…….Pool renovated old stadium…………..Arsenal have a new “owner”……….Leicester won the fcuking league !…………….top managers have joined the league………….Mike Dean has been voted into the top ten Spud employees ever……….blah blah blah etc` etc` etc`…………………………..in all the changes and I`m sure you can all name many more, there has been one constant !…………………………….Arsene Wenger !…………………the man had the best players to become invincibles and there lays the problem……… he had the best players, it wasn`t down to his great tactical know how or coaching ability !………………….now all the big clubs have the money, they can have the best players and the best coaches and Wenger is out of his depth……great manager but average coach !………………I`m absolutely 100% convinced someone like Klopp would get more out of our team than Wenger !.
A top coach is our only way forward, because even though I am 100% that Kroenke is the big evil at OUR club, he aint going nowwhere fast, so for the how ever long mean time, only a new coach will get us change from the groundhog day of top 4 but not 1st.
I have still not fully recovered from hearing Wenger mention “Mental Strength” last night on BBC and there has just been a knock on the door and through the window I can see it`s the local Jehovah Witnesses !………I shall invite them in and kill them, luckily no one saw them arrive so thank Jehovah no witnesses !
Talking about goals from midfield, our highest scoring midfielder is Ox with 6 in all competitions; Bear in mind only 1 of those of those has come in the EPL and 3 in the LC. Aside from that Iwobi and Xhaka all have one each…
It looks like we have addressed our striker issues but considering that no team has won the EPL without at least one midfielder (Lampard, Yaya Toure, Pires, Scholes, Ljunberg) etc scoring double digits in the EPL.
So in my view we need a Ramsey or even Ozil to ‘up’ their goal scoring game
Fred/Kel, re Nasri/Alexis comparison, that was Scott’s view, not mine. No comparison imo, none whatsoever….
Evening guys….
LC. Agree that a top coach is what we need.
For several years now we seem to lurch from one crisis to another. The team and squad is never settled and this manifests itself on the field. If it’s not an injury crisis, it’s player dissatisfaction or Wenger moaning about something or other while trotting out the same old stuff. Like your favourite,”mental strength”.
Yet, despite all the money invested, have we really moved on?
Le Coq- one simple question do you consider Ancellotti a top manager?
If AW won the title in 2003 all because he had good players and deserved no credit then I wonder why after Ancellotti won the title and spent nearly £80m for following season he was sacked half through the season after a 0–1 away defeat against Everton on 22 May 2011.
Same manager a better squad etc
Btw I know AW has gone too long without a title…
Morning all.
Ginge, Devil has said that about our lack of midfielders scoring for a few seasons now.
Bellerin was to blame 🙂
Hiya Adam…
I am reminded of the players you feel a new manager would get out of the club…
The players change, the manager and coaching staff remain, the song remains the same…
There are plenty of points to play for and it’s not beyond possibility that Chelsea will hit the skids. But where do we see Arsenal if they do?
Wenger blew it last season, he won’t get a better opportunity, with all the big sides in a mess. He’ll stay for another two years, but tbh I’m losing interest.
Hey Cocker, I’m a Jehovah’s Witness, I can email you some literature if you like?
Hiya ts……………………can we really compare anything at Chelsea to us, they have bought titles and would I swap Kroenke for Abramobitch…..absolutely !…………..do I really care who is manager if we win titles and if the owner sacks them every year and new manager comes in and wins something ?…..nope !………….DiMatteo won them the CL and was sacked !
Shame Kroenke hasn`t invested the same amount of money Abramobitch has invested……or changed managers as frequently !…….never know, but I reckon we may have won something more than 2 FA Cups had Kroenke followed the Abramobitch plan…..blue print etc`………………I can say this authority as I am a world renowned expert and part time white van driver ! hahaha
Correct Adam !……not much moving on ! 🙂
Deliver it in person Kev !…………..be quick though as I dont know how long I can stay this aroused !. 😆
Ts, for me it isn’t about whether AW has won the title or not as many other clubs haven’t over a lot longer period of time.
It’s about how things have stagnated, how we make the same mistakes, how AW makes the same old subs at the same old times, how he watches on doing nothing, how he fits players in just because he can. he doesn’t appear to select players on form, or the right players for the right opposition… The list is endless….
Kev. His job is to win the PL or the CL and he gets handsomely rewarded for it. Obviously there are more far-ranging responsibilities too, but essentially success is the aim. I think that, if the fans could see some really consistent progress being made, they would be happier. But at the moment it all looks like being too far away, despite the squad improvements and financial investment. All these match post mortems and player’s musical chairs like who should play where etc, seem futile to me. I think our failings demand action at a really fundamental level and therein lies an almost limitless amount of caveats that you and I have spoken about on many, many occasions.
Cocker, bless you my son..,
Well, I will say we missed our chance last year.
Chelsea is not playing Championship league or UEFA league so they have energy all the time.
Bellerin has been great this season we should be able to afford him a few bad games.
I put the performance to tiredness and players probably over indulged themselves over the Christmas period (So I blame Wenger for not instilling off field discipline)
Sanchez is right to complain, his anger got us the equalizer in my opinion, probably made other guys wake up and Giroud gave the performance of his life (MOM) except the bad taste celebration.
We just need to pay Sanchez what he wants we really need his skills and attitude (we are too soft in my opinion)
Sanchez for CAPTAIN
Hi SD, long time no hear from. Good to see you back, how are you?
Happy New Year Rico and the House.
Sorry to interrupt TSGH, of course Ancellotti is a top manager, that’s why he’s never been approached by Arsenal. We’re the club who agreed a deal with Ferguson, and six months later watched him take over at United.
Chelsea have a very different mentality and approach than Arsenal. Abramovich expects silver-ware every season, and as has been proved so often in the past, had a very itchy impatient finger ready to press the panic button if things aren’t going Chelsea’s way.
So much so that they both lost a CL final with an interim manager in 2008, and won it in 2012 with another interim manager. That’s the direct attention to detail and ambition that has been lacking from Arsenal for the past decade.
Ancellotti has done something Wenger can only fantasise about – he’s won the CL, not once, three times. He even improved Madrid after three years of Mourinho, swapping Ozil for Bale to win it.
Rico, LC I totally agree even as an ardent ‘Wengerite’ that he has stagnated.
Before Leicester won the EPL title it was easy as an AKB to say money bought the title. 🙂
Adam, I agree, but when you can name your own contract, choose when you leave, work with seemingly no pressure from above, then the malaise comes from above.
That isn’t going to change, so it’s same as for the foreseeable…
Absentee landlord obsessed with his ego driven LA Rams project, leaving us to just do enough for top four.
Buying just enough quality players to maintain the status quo.
I’m bored with the whole charade..
All along “The Watchtower” Adam?
Am I that bad that I have to be put in moderation, Rico 😀
Wavy. Would that be the Hendrix version? 🙂
Hi Herb, Happy New Year to you too… Not sure what happened there, maybe HH had an AW moment… 😉
Money can buy a lovely yacht Ts, but you still need the right man/woman to steer it…. 😉
Kev. Surely the pressure should come from within which is why you should get the big bucks. 🙂
5.20 Kev, totally agree and just how I feel….
No ambition from Kroenke and it runs right down through Wenger. This team is a mirror of it’s manager, the manager is a mirror of it’s owner..
Drifters the pair of them….
Eloquently expressed Rico. 🙂
Adam, I’d love to read Arsene’s job description or contract.
I wonder if winning a PL or CL title even gets a mention lol
Stan seemingly does not worry about silverware, and that attitude filters down though the club.
That said, I wonder what guarantees, if any, Ozil and Sanchez were given when signing with us.
Scott. We ain’t winning and we’re a shambles. All else is conjecture for me. 🙂
Shambles?
You’re being kind.
Scott. I’m a kind person. You know that. 🙂
So lady and Gentlemen………….what result do want tonight ?………..are you currently like me and couldn`t give a fcuk !…………..unlike some sites I dont class any of you as being delusional in thinking we are still in the title hunt and maybe you are thinking like me in that….fcuk the 4th place chase, lets save our best/strongest teams for FA Cup glory and maybe even the CL !
🙂 Rico. I will bear your 5:23 in mind when I win the lottery. 😉
Happy New Year Herb …………………………was hoping to see you on here as I have great confidence in your ability as the best ranter on all the blogs I have read, so come on Herbie Baby, a first of the new year classic please ! 🙂
Which one Adam? Lol
I`d love to win the lottery just to have enough money to get Arsene`s Arse secretly injected with some kind of Nanotechnology bomb which I will have control of and if I hear one more ” Mental Strength” uttered from his lips on a TV interview his arse will explode live on air !
He will probably be asked ……….what was that Arsene ? …………………….and reply….,” I did not see it ! “
Rico. The yacht analogy. TS’s comeback was good too. 🙂
?? Ts…
Thanks Adam….
All over newsnow that we have signed the left back Bramall !……………………..Title back on track !
Happy New Year to you too, Cornwall.
To be honest mate, I’m tired of it all. What can we say that hasn’t been said thousands of times already?
We are a massive behemoth of a club who just refuse to compete. Our finances be-lie what we have become. No other football club in the world operate with as little ambition or strategic planning as Arsenal, and I’m astounded with the fan-base that we have – among them some very prominent celebrities (and not just Piers Morgan!) – allow them to get away with such an under-whelming amateurish approach.
What does being the fifth richest club in the world mean? We are so far away from the promises made when moving to the Emirates it’s a joke.
A pathetic spineless football club rinsing its fans for every last penny and giving absolutely nothing back in return.
???
Kel @ 4:25, I was agreeing. It was a rhetorical question. I was saying they will not even walk into PSG or Juve starting 11, lol.
Ts I agree Ramsey requires loads of direction and that’s the problem. Most of the time his positional awareness is suspect, hence the reason for Sanchez getting upset yesterday, and since TR07 and MA08 are no longer there to cover him, maybe Ramsey should be gone too.
Regardless, how one feels about AW, we have to admit that 20 years as a manager at one club is a long time and there’s a time for change….. especially at his advanced age and given the downward trajectory we are on.
? LC, I’m super excited now….
No idea what’s happening with your comments Herb, sorry….
Thanks Herb………you dont disappoint ! 🙂
Know exactly what you mean in that you are tired of it all.
We seem to just go around in circles and it`s damning on my own personallity that I`m becoming accepting of it all as the norm` for us. We all know what`s coming and cant do much about it.
It`s like suffering from dementia and being left alone in revolving door of the clinic and passing the receptionist and thinking ….I know her from somewhere……………..I know her from somewhere……I know her from somewhere…….not knowing that the revolving door is your new execise routine…………………..wont remember much about the last title, but you`ll be fcuking fit !
Result last night made me do something drastic……..which I always seem to do when pissed off and bored…………..got doggy clippers out and gave myself a Number 1 up the sides and back of head but still a couple of inches on top !………………..look like I`ve escaped from Arkham Asylum ! hahaha
Cornwall 😀
Herb, try removing the link in your comments, it could be that sending you into moderation…
This is our squad. I posted that is not deep enought in quality and players for win the tilte. We have many injuries and players never been in the pitch or at the bench.
Looking forward: we must win at Preston (i’m curious with the line up) and next challenge versus Swansea away come in a abda time: they won last game, they change the coach, they palay for the first tima at home since the change and we are under pressure.
Let we see what happens in next two months.
About last game: I think Bournemouth scored 4 clear goals and maybe they have 2 penalties.
We were lacked physically, mentally and without football
I agree with JM…
Considering we’re outta the title race I think I want Chelsea to win here…
No love lost between Chelski & Scum..
Get stuck in lads, plenty of two-footed challenges, flying elbows, over the top, pulled hamstrings, yellow cards, red cards.
Well, I live in hope…
Lol I spend wks hoping for Chelsea to lose they win relentlessly lol
First night I don’t mind them winning… boom there getting beat lol..
Fuck i give up….?
Nighty guys..
Morning all.
JM, on squad depth…….well, as there has been no financial restriction on Wenger for 3-4 years now (Gazidis comment, not mine) the squad depth is down to Wenger.
If it is deep enough, he isn’t getting the best out of them.
If it’s not, he’s not buying the right players.
I’ll always defend the man when people make personal attacks on him, and that will never change, and while I still say we won’t be a real force until Stan sells up, right here and now, Arsene is not getting the job done and it’s on him.
Chavs 2-0 down.
Suddenly no so invincible.
From a potential title winning point of view, this result suits us but realistically, it doesn’t!!!
Not really. Does not mean to have many players, but to have a balanced team, united, humble and sharp for the same purpose.
The title run is lost? it depends of our performance. I’m concern with Totts: they don’t loose; they have many clean sheets, they play well and have the support of the media.
I think this squad if managed by a proper manager and not our washed up has been would compete…. Wenger leaves, Stan stays we get the right manager with current salary bill we become a force again.
Fuck me a strategically shaved chimpanzee could do a better job than Wenger…..as I said the other night the club has a new everything, apart from manager, he is the constant that is holding us back imo. He is living on past glories…..
We are not wining the PL or CL with Wenger at the helm not a chance! The oil money excuse or the Russian money excuse were all blown out of the water when Leicester won the PL by 10 points last year…..Wenger should of gone then.
Not bothered about the score at WHL , we aint going to win it so I’m not really worried. On one hand it slows down Chelsea and on the other it gives the other lot a chance to go above us which might increase the pressure on our lot but chances are they will implode before the end of the season anyway.
JM, I can only believe the players aren’t hungry enough.
Lee, when Arsene eventually leaves, we will know once and for all who was the real problem.
59 minutes v Cherries The Arsenal season was over, but now 8 points from top & alive.
rico
We will have our Ashes back by this time 2018?
Can’t wait to find out Scott, I don’t hate the man but I want a new perspective on things Arsenal.
Potter, 2014 was the right time for him to leave after delivering the first trophy out of the Emirates 🙂
On one hand, I do hope Arsene is not the problem as it hurts his legacy, but on the other, i hope it is as if not, we are going to be in the shit, big time.
Plenty think he’s still doing an incredible job, and is a genius to keep top 4 happening-what if they’re right???
Still, either Stan or Arsene must leave for us to have a real idea of where the problem lay, and the Yank’s not leaving.
As you know Scott I have long been anti Kroenke and along with others on the official club forum we were vocal enough about his taking over that PHW closed the forum down .It reformed as THe AFC forum and a few of us still post there . Very few of us there had any desire for a majority shareholder neither Kroeke or Usmanov but preferred a joint effort which would keep a balance .As we feared the then custodians of the club took the money and ran leaving the situation we now see. Our only hope is that the rumours of super star players wanting him out is enough ammunition for Gazidis to get him to go. He will decide himself as no-one has the clout or will to do the deed and as long as the fan base is split I can only he will hang on for as long as possible.
The club is treading water and it won’t be resolved any time soon.
Agreed Scott on not abusing wenger , by fuck he frustrates me and I may mutter a few words at times but I honestly would like to see he leave with some respect.
And who knows how things will pan out when he’s gone we could easily drop off for a few yrs but that’s football we’ll have to suck it up…
As I see it now out of the top teams in the PL Arsenal are the only ones who have a divided fan Base and tbh i think now its most likely 80/20 in favour of change, there’s no unity or togetherness so as a club we’re at a disadvantage compared to the others…
A house divided against itself cannot stand.
Gawd forbid abusing Arsene…he’s the only man I know who could poison shit !
Happy New Year Gooners.
Micko, you can abuse and attack him……..I’d be disappointed if you didn’t, as I do love consistency and work rate lol
Potter, the fact Wenger will leave when he chooses to is the reason I hold Stan responsible for the mess we are in-he should be making these calls when needed but he doesn’t care enough about the club to do it.
Kel, i dare say his avid supporters now still hang on in hope more than anything, but I’m sure they’d support the new man.
It will be Interesting to see what happens regarding whether or not some players won’t sign if he’s staying.
No player is bigger than the club, but neither is a manager.
This is where Stan SHOULD step up, find out what’s wrong and sort it out!!!
Stan only looks at one thing and it’s gold not silver. As long as the gravy train can support the L.A Rams as collateral for the KSE group he’s happy.
Potter, I’ve got no idea what it’ll take to see Stan out the door, but I’m hoping for it anyway lol
You’ll be waiting a long time for that Scott…..
Morning to you and anyone else who is awake… 🙂
Morning Rico, all.
Maybe Stan feels he owes Wenger for helping him acquire Arsenal. Hence he lets him run on his terms.
Every other team in the top six seems to be on the up but us.
Morning Rico and all. It’s freezing cold here, but it’s good to see the old Arsene or Stan debate is still alive.
I’m awake Rico… Morning…
Morning All
Adam, morning to you…
Seems that Wenger has signed the ‘new’ Ashley Cole…
I wonder if he’ll be in the squad for Preston NE this weekend?
Morning all.
Adam, it less painful than discussing the Bournemouth game lol
Morning Adam and Kev.
Freezing here too, bitterly cold…
Morning Marshall, didn’t see you there… 😉
Morning Kev. Rico. That is certainly true. The results and performances are really the bottom line and Bournemouth illustrates that we are falling behind where we should be. To say the least!
Change is required.
That’s taking the obvious.
Less obvious is what change/s are possible, and what, if any, will be made…..
Just the manager for me, get rid of him and bobs your uncle…
Rico, is that possible though hahaha
Anything is possible in life Scott… 😉
New post up now…
Good morning Rico, Scott and all
I can honestly understand folks wanting change and a new perspective but imho no one can categorically state that a new manager will guarantee us the EPL title.
its only ‘heresy’ that we are under achieving as in all cases across the 4 or 5 top leagues in Europe and also in South America the wage bills of each club defines where they finish at the end of the season. Those are hard facts that anyone with a computer can check…
Obviously Leicester city blew up the blueprint last season but where are they now and where will they be in May?
The same can be said of Valencia under Rafa, Montpellier with OG12 winning the French title and BVB under Klopp for one season and maybe Simeone at Ath…; none could replicate the ‘wonder’.
Coming back to this league we have the 4th highest wage bill and finish in the top 4 and in some cases we actually over achieve. With Stan being a sensible/business man with no emotional attachment he can see that and so he will never get rid of AW.
We’re handling this easy run with aplomb aren’t we? I really am shocked how this season is paning out, £90m worth of new players and still the same bollocks being served up!!!
Inspector Clueless has to go….
