City Want Ozil. The Story Remains The Same……

Yesterday began with the earth shattering news that Man City were preparing to sign Mesut Ozil for £32million. A loss to Arsenal of over £10million should the move go ahead. The report was in the Express and repeated in the Metro. Two newspapers, famous for reporting a load of rubbish, so still my beating heart….

Later in the day Hull City took to the field at the Emirates with revenge in their heart as they faced an Arsenal team still smarting from it’s 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge and with a makeshift defence.

Yes, all our worst felt fears about the lack of depth in the Arsenal defence, was being realised. Those fears were not eased by Arsene’s admission at the recent Arsenal AGM that he had needed another centre-back this summer. I suppose the question is, how long does it take to actually sign one? As Wenger seems to make a career out of dragging these transfers out, endlessly… Therefore, Nacho Monreal became Per Mertesackers third centre-back partner of this EPL season and Hector Bellerin made his first EPL start at right-back.

The rest of the Arsenal team had sufficient quality to see off a stubborn, time-wasting Hull team but once again, as at Chelsea, a referee did not do his job and it ultimately cost us points.

Following an encouraging start,  Alexis Sanchez destroyed Curtis Davies before firing a vicious drive across the face of Harpers goal and into the far corner of the net. A well deserved lead at that point. Harper had already made two top class saves to deny Welbeck and Cazorla.

Then Diame burst forward threatening the Arsenal box. Mathieu Flamini did his job, getting across in front of him, preventing his progress and had the situation under control. Diame could only regain the ball by fouling Flamini and that’s what he did by twice pulling back the Arsenal man. We waited for the referee to blow for the foul. And waited, and waited, meanwhile Diame ploughed on and equalised. The referee, Mr East showed the kind of ineptitude that Martin Atkinson had shown at Stamford Bridge when he failed to send off Gary Cahill, and once again, a PGMOL cretin, cost us points…

Hull rode their luck, Arsenal showed their fragility and Wenger sat on his hands.

We expected the team to come out in the 2nd half, breathing fire… Instead they conceded a sloppy goal in a not untypical manner. Acres of space where Gibbs should have been was filled by a Hull attacker who delivered a delicious cross which was totally misjudged by Mertesacker, headed home by Hernandez, and we were trailing 1-2…

The rest of the 2nd 45 was like, well, like so many Arsenal games in recent years when poor defending has led to the Gunners chasing a deficit. It was left to the best Arsenal player on the field and probably the best Arsenal player of this season so far, Alexis Sanchez, to salvage a point, as he twisted and turned in the Hull box to deliver a perfectly weighted pass that Welbeck crisply controlled and dispatched into the net for the face-saving equaliser.

Arsenal are now 11 points behind Chelsea, with absolutely no chance whatsoever of catching them. Of course, Arsene will continue to claim that that is not the case and that the EPL is still within our capabilities and to a certain degree he is right. He also has to convince his players and us fans that that is the case, but in our heart of hearts we all know the truth.

But in his darker moments when he is alone at home re watching a video of a recent game or some obscure game in a foreign land, Arsene will also know, that the game is up for us this season…

All this won’t bother Stan Kroenke as he counts his Arsenal profitability. Nor will it stop Stan from eulogising the achievements of Billy Beane, the American sports coach he associates most with Arsene Wenger. Beane won absolutely nothing, but he did it on a shoestring.

Sounds familiar eh?

As a City fan you are welcome to Ozil and as you say if its in the Express and the Metro its almost guaranteed to be garbage.

  2. rico says:

    Morning all.

Good post Kev and thank you.

Same old bad officiating, same old time wasting by the opposition, same old careless defending by us, same old same old from Arsenal…..

I only saw the highlights but that was enough. What I do find strange is how we started so well but a bad decision and our heads go down and we lose our way. It’s happened many times before.

I’d have thought the anger after East allowing that goal would lift a side…. Did totally the opposite..

  3. potter says:

45,000 people in the stadium saw that it was a foul on Flamini , 3500, didn’t care they were in the away support area and the rest were either in the toilet , texting their girlfriends or trying to get a selfie .Arsenal fall foul of ineptitude again. All very depressing , all too familiar and all too predictable. What ever did we do to the gods of football officialdom to reap this constant whirlwind of wrong decisions from Riley and his merry men ? The answer is we stood up to them. In his early years Wenger went on a couple of occasions with video evidence to prove amongst other things that Rooney dived and that Eboue was not in fact Abebayor. There is nothing a kangaroo court dislikes more than evidence , and the referees exposed in these videos were :– Riley head of PGMOL and Howard Webb yes the same Howard Webb that quit refereeing to become technical director of the official referees’ association, the PGMOL.. Get the connection ? As long as Wenger is here Arsenal will suffer at the hands of this omnipotent organisation , they will not forget and never ever forgive.

  4. Bill Tyson says:

Further to that, it’s all well and good going on about the foul that should have been, but if we’re that good, our game won’t hinge on one decision!!

  5. Wath says:

Potter, totally agree the ref was a total prick and made awful decisions but that also doesn’t paper over the fact that once they scored a dodgy equalizer be were pathetic. We stopped playing the way we had the first 20mins and looked totally clueless.

If I was Sanchez I’d be putting in a transfer request in Jan the bloke is head and shoulders above any other player we have and the bloke cares and puts in a shift like no other as well, shame a few others don’t get stuck in like him….

  6. Wath says:

Sorry Bill your comments were in moderation and i’ve just posted the interview where our Boss decides he doesn’t like good honest questions aimed in his direction…!

  7. bennybigschlong says:

I am sure as steve bruce says its nice for hull to get a decision go there way, what I cant understand is why every team seems to get that one decision a season against arsenal.

  8. ozgunner says:

Wath – just seen that interview, i try to stay clear now of his ramblings but poor to say the least. Absolute arrogance. But after this at the AGM what do you expect? Arsenal FC Chairman Sir Chips Keswick at the AGM this week: “It’s not my place to double-guess Arsene’s intentions. We back Arsene when he has a plan. We stay quiet when he doesn’t.”

What a complete mess this club now is, talk about Arsene FC ffs.

  9. potter says:

I’m not raising the ref as a way of excusing the inertia from the team. That comes from the very TOP . The board are under no pressure and they don’t pressurise the manager and in turn there appears to be little else than personal pride to spur the players on . We have a team of top international players and they know the faults within and if no-one else is bothered why should they be. .

  10. ozgunner says:

there are dozens of these decisions every week benny – don’t let it mask the fact we were simply not good enough again. This is surely now the message that should go on the coming Wenger statue. Simply NOT the best

  11. Wath says:

As you say Oz, shows complete lack of integrity to attack the reported just cos he doesn’t like the truth of the question but again as you say no different to the way he blanked questions at the AGM along with his “Bosses”….

Spot on Potter, the ship is steered by a group of elderly gents looking for a quiet life… why show any ambition what so ever that means taking risks…. No chance.

  12. bennybigschlong says:

Potter has already answered my question. Bill tyson we get bad decisions every game so therefore most of the time we are good enough to win even with bad decisions, a lot of the time its not just the decision its the points of the game the referee makes them that contributes to us struggling to get the three points when we are not at are best.

  13. ozgunner says:

i think the refs are the very least of our problems – trouble is we forget many of the rather fortunate calls we’ve had. The problem lies on the bench and with the men who employ him – what was it Adam said – so totally predictable. Couldn’t have put it better. I hope if Wenger goes Stan will sell up and f. off. The press need to keep the pressure up and drive home his wide of the mark predictions and constant excuses. His smug ass smirks need to be wiped away once and for all.

  14. ozgunner says:

Chairman of the Board – We back Arsene when he has a plan. We stay quiet when he doesn’t.” – i just can’t believe he said that – many of us have touted this as fact for years but to openly admit it is beyond a joke. Seriously

  15. allezkev says:

The problem with English football, is the Football Association.

The problem with Arsenal FC, is the Owner/Board of Directors.

Nevermind the ‘quality’ on the pitch.
What about the quality in the clubs leadership?

Any organisation is only as strong as those at it’s head…

  16. Wath says:

That interview Rico is exactly what is wrong with Wenger… He doesn’t like it when it’s pointed out he wrong and that he is responsible so he goes on the defensive and turns the question on the reporter…. Very very poor…!

  17. Bt62 Gooner says:

Well, well, well, This morning we yet again cast our eyes over the smouldering wreckage of another tragic car crash of a performance……

    Good post Psycho…..
    Afternoon all…….

  18. dublingunner says:

afternoon, wath ,I was thinking the same thing after the match, Dare i say it, Sanchez could be too good for us. I mean without him yesterday, we would be in a darker place today, But AGAIN we had to salvage something out of a game we should be winning. and Arsene,s tetchiness with, in fairness reasonable questions from Jacqui oatley, spoke volumes to me, That he just hasn,t got the answers, is out of ideas and knows he has Blown it already this season, Why the hell,as it,s getting reported this morning, would you let vermaelan go, and not bring in a replacement, utter madness.

  19. Wath says:

DG, the other side of the Vermaelen thing is Wenger said the whole summer that if he leaves he will be replaced…. What Wenger left out was exactly when he would be replaced… Stupid us we all assumed it would be the same time Vermaelen was sold…We got it wrong we are all stupid…!

    Yeh right…………

  20. Wavy says:

The interview, shocking. Reason, he knows that the ‘team’, his ‘team’ fucked up!
He knows that it is his fault and so adopts an aggressively defensive tone and attitude! He is trying to excuse the indefensible, hence his manner. But, and it is a very big but, he doesn’t have a clue how to mend the failings and faults that have emerged in ‘his team’.
I think I would be angry if I could see the poverty of my team but when it came to it I couldn’t find a remedy, because I was totally clueless!
Perhaps the penny has dropped, at last. Will he go at the end of the season? Unlikely because he always honours his contracts, unless they are terminated early. A la Monaco et al. The only dictator I can think of who resigned and spent his declining years peacefully, having married his daughter to his regal successor, was Generalisimo Franco! All the others were ultimately shot, hanged, committed suicide or were legally demised! What will be Wenger’s end? Who knows but I don’t think it will end well!

  21. rico says:

Absolutely agree Wath, his body language was shocking as well. Looks like a broken man to me and one who is all out of ideas and answers…

  22. ozgunner says:

the FA Cup masked things and only prolonged what we already knew. I am positive the end is in sight and man how long have we needed this! The press after that outburst should assist now. Give him shit and drive him out guys please!

  23. rico says:

Not only did TV go, but the other young central defender too….

Still, we signed Chambers who was a replacement for everyone… 😉

    What a joke….

  24. bennybigschlong says:

Wenger got prickly with the reporter he did not attack her lets not exaggerate to much. I’m perplexed to as why with a strong premier league showing in many aspects last season we havent improved to be contenders this season but I really wish so called arsenal fans would not help the media etc ridicule and snigger at a man who derserves much respect.

  25. rico says:

Oz, I think he’s too thick skinned, he won’t depart. It’ll pick up soon, we’ll get 4th perhaps and all he’ll get is another pat on the back from Kroenke….

  26. Adam says:

It must be me but I didn’t see that interview as being as bad as I had expected. She was obviously trying to rub it in a bit and humiliate him. I don’t think he deserves that myself. I didn’t like her tone either and suspect that the BBC sent her knowing full well what to expect.

  27. rico says:

I didn’t think she did a lot wrong Adam. Perhaps she’s an Arsenal fan and wanted to get to the bottom of a few things…

  28. dublingunner says:

Adam, He did nothing but brush off every question, he was asked, and to me ,made the girl feel ,uncomfortable, in that she didnt know what she was talking about, came across arrogant and patronizing, just my reading of it, There was no positives for the girl to pick up on, only alexis sanchez., any way it might not be so bad as i dont think l,pool, spurs or everton are any great shakes this season either. so we might just grab that last champions league spot, something to look forward to , eh.

  29. Adam says:

DG. Then we saw two different interviews. I have conducted many interviews though not of that nature and the dynamics involved are subtle. We all have our views but I don’t want to see that sort of thing myself.

  30. bennybigschlong says:

Ridicule for what rico. The same happened to benitez, benitez may not be the best manager in the world but did not deserve the disgusting treatment he got, I think that is a big part of the reason england is not liked very much by the rest of the world. The reporter chose too pick at every answer wenger gave to her question, when steve bruce was asked about the first goal he gave an answer that had massive holes in it but she did not pick at it. That shows a narrative against wenger, the same as people not asking questions but instead saying wenger attacked a reporter who he actually just got a bit annoyed with.

  31. rico says:

Adam, II disagree, she just asked him questions. The fact that she was a woman seemed to irk Wenger more than her using it to an advantage. Perhaps he see women as being inferior, a lot of men do….

  32. rico says:

benny, I said respect for what, in the past he’s always had my utmost respect, but that respect has lessened over the last few years..

Bt, ah, good point, I kind of meant he’s the one who dictates all so should have the answers, however, as you rightly suggest that when it comes to playing the game, he seems to have no answers…

  33. dublingunner says:

adam, what sort of thing, A girl reporter interviewing a manager after a game, with direct,to the point questions, that he didnt like, pity about im, in his 8 million a year job.I think she held herself well, and was very professional about it. Thats wenger,s problem. he has so much power within the club, there all afraid to speak up to im. anyway we,ll agree to disagree.

  34. Adam says:

Rico. If that’s the way you see it. I disagree though and think Benny is far closer to the truth. I want to see change but some want humiliation too. That’s not me though.

  35. ozgunner says:

he’s close now to retiring like one of those old punch drunk fighters that everyone looks at a says “shame was a real winner in his day, stayed way to long”

  36. Bt62 Gooner says:

Adam, Aw continues on the same old track year in, year out, by doing so he brings humiliation to his own door and to Arsenals…..

  37. rico says:

I still don’t think he will Oz, he’ll stay and believe he can turn things around and will be given the time to do so…

  38. Adam says:

BT. I agree but this must be solved by the club and I won’t condone what I saw in that interview. If you had spoken to me straight after the game I would have had the hump too. We have no hierarchy (according to the AGM) or chain of command that might result in decisions being made.

  39. potter says:

It’s a classic deflection , here we are the media -News Now – blogs all talking about Wenger’s reaction to the questions rather than his answers or lack of them. In many ways I agree with Adam the focus should not be on ridiculing the man but on getting to the root cause of the problem.

  40. Wavy says:

There is a reason why men of his generation are expected to retire when they get to 65. It is because they are no longer considered able to fulfill the roles that a 20 or 30 or 40 or 50 year old can. Any number of reasons/causes are likely, lack of stamina, muscular weakening, fatty arteries, loss of vitality, a tendency to curmudgeonlyness, smug arrogance, meanness, loss of hearing and an inability to follow a conversation……etc.etc….
These are a few of the qualities I see in Wenger now. Gone is the sharp urbane wit and charm. Gone is the sharp critical eye. Gone is the decisiveness of yesterday. What he was has sadly been superseded as a result of the aging process. I don’t want to see him pilloried or hounded by the press or the supporters or anybody else but I do think he needs to take a good, long, hard look at himself and recognize that he is best days are sadly behind him. He should write in his diary, Monday; bridge with Chips. Tuesday; Bridge with Chips. Wednesday; Bridge with Chips. And Thursday; Bridge with Chips. Friday; lie in. Saturday; Directors Box with Chips and the gang. Sunday; gardening.

Just the job, so to speak.

  41. dublingunner says:

the root cause of the problem, continues and will continue to go unaddressed, i.e wengers stubbornness,The board, The lack of blindingly obvious signings in blindingly obvious positions, High ticket prices, False promises,,Playing players out of position, the list goes on and on. Thats why wenger and the board get ridiculed, and like it or not, rightly so in majority of cases.

  42. Adam says:

It’s right that Wenger should receive so much criticism, but a lot of the players that he has invested (too much) faith in are letting him, the club, the fans and themselves down far too regularly. I know that we are not living in an age when humility is considered anything other than an unfortunate affliction but we have some right arseholes playing for us.

  43. rico says:

I still think – different owner would equal a different kind of Wenger.

But a replacement of Wenger would see a much more organised team…

The lot of them together are a very bad combination but first and foremost, I would like to see Usmanov take over, get a younger and more ambitious board and see what happens…

  44. dublingunner says:

That is true, A lot of players do let im down, but with the exception of a handful of players, a lot of them are just not as as good as wenger thinks they are. and that is another blind spot of the once great man.

  45. allezkev says:

Unfortunately BT, there are far too many left.

I don’t mind the Boris Bikers, part-timers/tourists, easily avoided.

But the Lycra clad kamakazi types are a real menace…
Their the ones that cycle thru red lights and luv to play ‘chicken’ with ya on one-way streets.
I do enjoy forcing them into parked cars on occasions…

All in the best possible taste, you understand… 😉

  46. potter says:

Of all of those listed only 1 could be considered a top footballer , One used to be just about good enough but is now over the hill and only good for certain matches against inferior teams. Podolski given the chance would /could still be of use but cameo appearances as a bit part part player are a waste of his talent he needs to go to somewhere where he would get regular playing time and his goals would come back. As much as I like him I would add Rosicky to your list as well for the same reasons as Pod . Wenger is doing neither of them any favours , there was a time when he was credited with extending player careers now however he is allowing great players to slide away into obscurity.

  47. rico says:

Yes Potter, I would probably add Rosicky now too, love him but he’s doing himself no favours by playing international football, something which I suspect is keeping hi out of the first team…

  48. Adam says:

Unless Wenger had an agreement with Rosicky that he wouldn’t play International football, which I doubt, then not playing him out of some sort of spite while still paying him £60 k a week seems somewhat perverse to me.

  49. Rick says:

    Afternoon Rico and the House.
I have been following todays debate and I think I should do what Micko told me to do
a few weeks ago ,” Get off the fence”
I have seen the interveiw and agree with Adam and Benny.
I think I am right in saying that the “Girl” you all refer to is 39 year old Jacque Oatley.
Jacque is a freelance sports broadcaster and is best known as being the first female commentater on Match Of The Day. She is also known as being able to hold her own with any Male commentater and that includes the awfull Alan Green
I honestly think she was setting Arsene up the moment I heared the question,no matter what he replied he would be seen as in the wrong.

  50. Adam says:

Perhaps letting all these situations build up while being inactive and – one might suggest, complacent, hasn’t helped at all. I could almost believe that an assistant might have helped over the past several years.

  51. rico says:

Well there has to be some reason Rosicky isn’t playing…. Last season our midfield was so much better with him in it.

  52. rico says:

I just saw it as a few tricky questions which got under Wengers skin. I also wonder what we’d all be saying had Jeff Shreeves (spelling) asked the same ones…..

  53. Rick says:

I think that Shreeves (spelling) would have got the same response Rico.
As others have said he looks shot to me and is always looking for a way to end the interview.
By the way Wavey your 2.43.
Have you been talking to my Wife thats whats she has been saying about me .(Well almost)

  54. Wavy says:

Funnily enough I think I met her at a seminar dealing with, “coping with the nearly retired partner and , how to recognize their failing faculties.”
So yes Rick we’ve had a ‘conversation’!

  55. rico says:

I’m not so sure Rick, Shreeves has been asking the same kind of questions for years but Wenger has been accused of avoiding them…. And accused of coming out with many excuses…

  56. AndrewH says:

What a shame. Years ago I really liked and would defend our manager. Respected him. Now when I see him, I just want to throttle him. Every time. Every fu”ing time!

  57. frednerk says:

    Evening All,
What a back four, how on earth can wenger be right in the head,
Hull turn-up with game plan to keep the score down and end up nearly winning it.
If we didn’t know wenger better you could could agree with him when he says .
We had 80% of the ball and Hull only had 3 shots at goal and that Ref.
Prehaps if he listened to people in the game and out of the game and bought the right players and the back-up for injuries to win these games,he might just get us supporters to at least listen to the cr#p he churns out.

  58. Wavy says:

    Cont:
What he is going through. It’s a bit of a Hamlet moment, to do something or not to do anything at all!
When you’re in your prime you don’t think you just do! As you get older you tend to become far more measured, sometimes this seems be the manifestation of indecision. In football, by the very nature of the pace that it is played at and the brief moment in time it takes for the game to be played, indecision is not a commodity that sits well with the punters, sadly I think Wenger has reached the latter stage. He has huge experience of football and knows oodles but this sadly leads to information overload and his aging brain can’t cope as quickly as once it did.time to acknowledge the fact that the synapses aren’t what they were and time to look for quieter pastures. Nobody would begrudge him a long and happy retirement it’s just time for him to grasp the nettle, make a decision and, at the end of this season leave, gracefully

Does that sound a bit like your wife Rick?

  59. Wavy says:

Ho hum! I know a man…………..! I could put you in touch with Peter Pan!! But sadly the aging process is irreversible!
So we’re all bu**ered, metaphorically speaking! Says he, decisively!

  60. Joaquim Moreira says:

We had only won two games in eight possible in this year.
Rosicky’s problem is easy: he hasn’t be fit enought for playing in high level twice a week.
We can’t see Rosicky like he played 3/4 years ago.

  61. scottfromoz says:

    Morning all.
On the famous interview, having seen it, I can not believe the loads of shit I’m reading about it.
The few questions he didn’t answer were answers in his statement a few days ago, and the smart arse journo knew that, or at least, SHOULD have.
Just another chance for Wenger out people to have a crack, and I’m disappointed so many on here took him to take whilst seeing no wrong at all in the obvious attempt at a cheap headline.
Forget Wenger, Highbury House members are better than that!

  62. scottfromoz says:

Rant over, so onto the game.
    How disappointing!
We all know what the problems are, so no point me rolling them out again, but damn, if Wenger doesn’t get in at least two top class defensive players in January, we will miss top 4, for sure.
2 months ago, we were filled with hope.
Now, we are hanging on, and that’s not good enough.

  63. scottfromoz says:

Apologies for my earlier rants guys.
    No excuse.
Frustrated as all hell, but I just think Wenger deserves better from some snot nose wannabe, and I should not have taken that out on you Housers.

  64. Lee says:

Wenger is complicit in this cluster fuck that is happening at Arsenal…I want answers to why he is so blinkered, why we have so many injuries and what the fuck is going on defensively?
So we’re using our third choice goalkeeper on weds night, it just gets better and better.

  65. sukky says:

Wenger is behind †̥ђƺ injury problems too.ask me and I will explain. Why is Joel campell not playing?why is welbeck starting every match, why no team rotation, good tactics and great team shape….†̥ђƺ answer is WENGER.Why can’t †̥ђis man just leave us alone

  66. Adam says:

Well done to Gary Monk. At least he had the balls to speak out about the shocking refereeing standards and get a dig in at Riley. The penalty decision against Swansea was a disgrace.

  67. Luznic says:

I don’t believe Wenger was arrogant in his interview with the oatley lady, I would have reacted if you posed that same question to me, I get it people don’t like Wenger’s face again and I don’t either, but those questions were too direct and provocative for God sake if she wants to know who a blame should be apportioned to she should get an uefa certificate to coach, if she had posed those questions to a poyet or Sean dyche they might be getting the sack this morning, that’s unfair I think Wenger is unwanted as a person in England and with the English media known to stir up trouble he also should quit or do the right thing, I am sure that Oatley won’t ask Sir old red nose those question and Mr clean Garry Lineker won’t be voicing his opinions as I am even tired of BBC always quoting him on twitter who the hell does he think he is? Maradonna or Cruyff pleaseeeeee. Good Morning everyone

  68. scottfromoz says:

I know we can’t let poor decisions cover the teams shortcomings, but there are too many shockers that hurt us not to bring them out in the open.
    It’s weekly.

  69. rico says:

If that was bad enough, the ‘jump’ by Merts was even worse…

Where’s the fire and determination in some of these players?

  70. Adam says:

On the day that the crisp-munching moron’s opinion have any relevance it will be time to pack up and go home.

  71. Lee says:

It’s become all too cosy at Arsenal………from the top all the way down!! Too many players just coasting whilst earning a fortune!!

  72. scottfromoz says:

    It was disappointing, Rico.
One thing I always remember though…..my dad said it when I was a kid.
A striker makes a mistake, no dramas, as he will get another chance.
The keeper or a defender makes an error and its a goal!!!!
    14 shots the other day.

  73. Lee says:

Hansen and jug ears are a brace oxygen thieving cnts, why anyone would give a fuck about what they think is beyond me!

  74. Adam says:

Luznic. The BBC are a highly political organisation brimmed full of bleeding-heart socialists and wankers. Nothing they do or say is without a political slant. This runs from their middle-east coverage to their football commentary and interviews. They are busy trying to make themselves relevant and justify the ludicrous licence fee that we don’t even have a choice of paying.

  75. rico says:

Very disappointing Scott and darn right laziness imo, all we are asking is they do what they get paid for…

  76. Luznic says:

Scott I was asking myself yesterday, we pass a lot in the penalty area, we don’t get any penalty, I can count like 3 or 4 penalties in about 3years are you telling me defenders who play against us are perfect? if oatley wants to change the world let her ask questions from Riley, watching the Chelsea game against palace and after Azpilicueta was booked the man was under pressure to send off a palace player and Delaney presented himself, it will happen for Chelsea not for arsenal, I came to a conclusion that the English hate great passing game because even Swansea are suffering the same faith, English press hails mourinho who lacks proper upbringing and hates Wenger who is a conservative, what are they smoking there in press houses……I just don’t get it, there must be something Wenger has done to warrant this hatred for God sake this is a man like it or hate has succeeded in the English game, say for Clough,Ferguson, Paisley and that other Liverpool bloke who do you mention as a great before Wenger……..he needs to quit but he deserves some respect

  77. Luznic says:

Adam that’s funny hahahaha I sense you are tired of their nonsense like I am, I used to respect Phil McNulty till he questioned why a 19year old boy should be tired and like that was not enough he said the performance against hull was lacklustre and I was like ooh really I thought arsenal were all over them except we didn’t win, I am sure he was watching with an hangover silly people all of them

  78. scottfromoz says:

    Lee 🙂 🙂
Luznic, the funny thing is not how many penalties we DON’T receive, it’s how many we give up.
    Same as fouls.

  79. Adam says:

Up until only a few years ago the man who ran MOTD was a huge Man U fan. I know because a friend, who is unfortunately a Chelsea fan, worked on the program. There were huge rows and fall-outs behind the scenes because of the disproportionate amount of time devoted to Man U. It’s as simple as that. Let us not forget that this is the organisation that effectively pimped for Jimmy Saville for decades.

  80. Lee says:

Adam, my 9:13am comment sad but true and funded by you……..

Arsenal are a joke and the rot needs to stop asap!

  81. rico says:

I think that’s the place to start Scott but I also believe that a different manager may get more out of this squad…

  82. scottfromoz says:

You maybe right, Rico, but I still think a new manager will be a short term fix while Stan is still around.
I could be wrong, but that’s where I’d start.
