Chamakhs Pipe Dream over & Is Vermaelen’s Arsenal career under scrutiny??

If Marouane Chamakh had plans on staying at Arsenal after this season ends, he’s probably just blown them!

That's the wrong kind of Peace-Pipe'!

We all know Wenger does not put up with bad behaviour off the pitch and no doubt when he see’s this photograph, captured by The Daily Mail, he’ll be told to find himself another club, sharpish!

Couldn’t care less what he gets up to off the pitch as long as it’s within the law but we’d just been beaten by QPR, why is he out celebrating with Adel Taarabt? He should have been at home, watching videos of just how crap he was when he came on for ten minutes!

On to Thomas Vermaelen, after his performance on Saturday, some of the comments that have been made in the Arsenal world of blogging have been overly critical !!

Yes he had an off day on Saturday, but as we all know, he wasn’t the only one and part of our vice captains problem was the crappy surface he had to keep upright on, something he struggled with!

Vermaelen, together with Robin van Persie are at the root of all things good at our club, together they have galvanised the squad, got them out at night as a group and they even compete on the golf course and table tennis table.

This squad is full of good spirits guys, and I don’t mean Grey Goose or Ghosts!

One off day and many fans, not here I hasten to add, have put him through the mangle and hanged him out to dry for the two goals we conceded against QPR.

Well, I don’t get it, not one bit!

Thomas Vermaelen is a top class footballer, a great defender and a great professional in today’s game. He’s a player that many top football clubs would love to have in their squad and whilst the summer saw a few desert us for £$€’s signs, he didn’t join them. No, instead, he didn’t hesitate in showing his loyalty to his club by signing a new contract. We didn’t hear about any crazy wage demands, we didn’t hear about him needing us to sign marquee players to convince him to stay, he just quietly and quickly got on and signed on the dotted line.

Many could learn from him, Walcott, Song and van Persie being three!

So why don’t they?

Do they love all the media speculation?

Do they enjoy holding Arsenal Football club to ransom?

Do they even care about the fans view, especially Robin van Persie?

Our captain knows what we fans think of him, his name gets sung loud and proud each game, home and away so why has he allowed his contract situation to come to this?

We so often question how Arsenal have ‘allowed’ our players contracts to run close to being in the final year, we have very often criticised them for allowing players to leave for free but surely, if a player really wants to stay and be a part of the club we all love so much, why don’t they force the issue, why don’t they initiate contract talks a lot earlier?

Wouldn’t you, if you really wanted to stay?

I know many will just rebuff the idea, suggesting that players these days are only interested in money and as long as they earn a huge wage, they don’t care who they play for but…

That takes me back to Thomas Vermaelen, I’m sure Manchester City would love him in their defence, they could afford to pay him £200k a week, but did he want that?

I guess not, he’s just a great player who wanted and still wants to play for Arsenal…..

Blame him for the QPR result, to heck will I………

    Morning all!

    Good post. Chamug…. Do one.

I can’t believe the stick Vermaelen has got. I admit, during the game, I did slag off the fact that our defenders slip a lotr more than most teams (with the exception of Liverpool…. Thanks Scott), which always seems to happen at vital moments. Away against AC Milan, Merts trying to be fancy against Sunderlant, slipping and doing himself in, and against QPR. There was one common denominator in all of those things….. The pitches were all bad. But seriously, how short are their studs these days?! I remember back in the day we played with studs the length of javelins and leg breaks were basically unheard of!

  2. rico says:

    Morning rocky and all ….

That’s it rocky, and now i can see why AW moans about the state of a pitch, in Milan we lost Merts because of it, something which shouldn’t be allowed to happen.

I don’t know if there is a different kind of footwear they should be wearing on surfaces that look more like by back garden when it needs a cut, than a football pitch…

    Maybe long studded wellingtons 😉

  3. rockyrocastle07 says:

    Morning Rico.

I think I’m right in saying that Adam was at the match on Saturday and noticed they were having dificulty controlling teh ball in the warm up. Surely that should be a warning sign that they may be in trouble?! I swear players think about fashion first when it comes to boots. Get rid of this orange and purple shite, and go back to boots like they were before Fashinu / Ball ruined it!

The original post is right though in the fact that he seems proud to be at Arsenal and seemed to sign without a moments hesitation. And I’m sure Koscielny would do exactly the same. It is refreshing after hearing about the Song/Walcott/rVP saga’s (if what we read in the papers is to be believed)

  4. rockyrocastle07 says:

Unless Nikki fancies helping about a bit around the ground…. Picking up rubbish after the game (and I don’t mean Arshavin!! boom boom!!), cleaning boots etc….

  5. Lee says:

Morning all….surely it can’t something as simple as stud length, can it? But our defenders do seem to slip at really important moments…..
@ Rocky, watching the cricket this morning, Matt Prior suffers from extreme jaw-jut!! Add him to the list….

  6. rico says:

rocky, you are right, Adam also said that gallons of water was being put on the pitch too, warning signs there too, they should have known they were heading into a meadow..

With you on the boots, forget fasion and wear something that will actually stop you slipping and protect the foot/ankle more..

That could be another reason for so many injuries…

  7. rockyrocastle07 says:

Morning Lee. In holiday mode yet?! Yeah, Prior really does! He has a little mouth as well making it even worse!

I really don’t know about the stud length…. I think it could be a possibility. All boots seem to be devoted for maximum speed these days, and not much else.

  8. Lee says:

You think AW has been at the forefront of player’s diets surely something as simple as their boot choice has not been over looked???

  9. rockyrocastle07 says:

Rico, they are undoubtedly to blame for more injuries. There’s nothing to them these days.

  10. Lee says:

Rocky, you put stud and length in the same sentence and the Goonster will be all over it……….. ;lol:

  11. rockyrocastle07 says:

Well he has completely overlooked playing people in their correct positions, learning to change a formation when it’s not working and when to time sub’s correctly, so why not overlook boots?!

  12. rockyrocastle07 says:

God Lee, I dread to think what sentence he’d use those words in!! Has anyone seen or heard from the playa lately?

  13. rico says:

Bearing in mind he knows the size of every players feet, he could get on and order their boots for them 😉

  14. Lee says:

Well, I googled the weather for the next few days in Murcia…..does factor 50 protect you from, lightening, rain & wind?? 🙁
    No smiling you lot!!!!

  15. Tlailaxu says:

Morning people, didn’t c the game but I can only tell there are a lot of Arsenal ‘fans’ who moan and start throwing shit their own team when they lose…and English press is something of a mystery…I’ve lived in England for 5 years + now but week In week out I just c so much negativity coming at us,I mean we are like one of the most successful english clubs in history but we get so much stick, where is all that hatred coming from…

RICO were u just joking about bendtner?

  16. gazzap says:

The issue with our defence isn’t to do with the players in the back 4. OK so rare individual errors apart, which you cant legislate for (and even the best defensese in the world make them occasionally) our issue is to do with how the team is set up. Our team is set up to attack. Our defence has not had decent protection for at least 7 years.

Personally I dont think Arsenal can win another trophy while we play under this philosophy. Heck even with 2 defensive minded players like Arteta and song in midfield we still cant really do a shut out properly. Its incredibly easy to get the ball into the middle of our defence and into the danger area.

As a fan you either accept it and enjoy the bumpy ride, or you campaign for Wenger out. While he is here, I dont see him changing the way we play.

  17. rico says:

I think diet contributes to injuries too, they all need bulking up a bit, other than santos….

muscles i mean, not turn them into porkies…

  18. Andy Brown says:

it’s a shame we lost due to a couple of mistakes, but vermaelen had an offday and you can pretty much guarantee that he wont have another one,but if it had been squillaci it would have been an everyday occurance,i think we were lucky it was tom because he’s got his mistake out of the way now and we can concentrate on the rest of the season..

  19. Lee says:

I was never a fan of NB but playing him on the wing and not up front was mind jamming…..he’s assisting plus scoring for MON!

  20. rockyrocastle07 says:

Ahhh, Lee… That really is a shame….! Still, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it! I’m sure you can find a caff somewhere for omelette and chips, so it’ll REALLY feel like home then!

I agree gazzap. Someone on here yesterday said they thought a DM position was overrated. I’m sure the teams that Makalele played for will disagree with that statement in a heartbeat. That’s what we miss.

  21. Mattyboy says:

    Good post…

I think the only reason RVP isnt signing is because he wants the club to invest in quality which we certainly slack and this is the only way you can get wengo to spend!! And look at the turn around its done already, wengo is sealing off deals before the transfer market has even opened!!

I think its a great move by RVP im fed up with wenger getting tesco valued players instead of the marks and spark good quality shizz!!

So big up RVP !! lol

  22. rockyrocastle07 says:

Thing is though Romford, it would be lower down that second fiddle, which he wouldn’t want. He should automatically be above Chamug and Park though (Having never seen Park in action for more then a half, I have no idea what he’s like)

  23. Lee says:

That’s why (imo) M’Vila is a must, in order to protect the back four…..not go on meandering runs up the pitch!

  24. Lee says:

I totally agree Mattyboy re RVP, he’s said to AW I went you to show me some intent by the quality of the players you bring in….not Lidl bargain basements!!

  25. Mattyboy says:

i agree lee M’vila is a must along with vertonghen who would be charlotte church of the back four!!

  26. Gooner Sam says:

Morning Rico, good post and another thing, without him we would not have won against newcastle or Everton, so there’s 4 points he got us single handed!

  27. Mattyboy says:

pahhhhaha lidls lol !!! need to get wengo on the marks wagon my man!!

But agree lee i aint heard RVP once mention the stall is over wages!! purely the desire of the club and being at his age he wants to win trophys !

  28. rockyrocastle07 says:

It does seem as though Wenger has been told to sort his shit out in the transfer market this summer. If that was RvP’s doing, then I lve him even more!

  29. rico says:

Morning Tlailaxu – no, he wants to come back and tbh, he has to be better than Chamakh and never thought I’d say that but as we have always said, why have a big striker who can head the ball playing on the left in a front three?

Hi gazzap, if we were to sign M’vila, that defensive problem would soon be resolved….

That though is a big ‘IF’….

  30. Romford Pele (formerly HC) says:

    @Rocky07

The Podolski move may be part of the process to plug that gap. Saying that though, I can’t see Podolski signing and being a back-up option to RVP. He’ll most probably sign and play on the left of a front three involving Walcott and RVP. If RVP leaves, you’d expect Podolski to take up the main position.

I can’t see us playing 442 with the amount of CMs we have

  31. rockyrocastle07 says:

I’m still undecided about Vertonghen. Never seen him play, but I’m sure he’s good. As I’ve said before, it’s teh way he’s been whoring hismself out to the highest placed team that’s annoyed me. If that’s the way you want to do it, fine… Just don’t say it all in the press.

  32. rico says:

    Morning Romford, Matty & Sam….

Hopefully Wenger has seen the light and we make very early signings, like Fergies did last summer, then those who need to sign new contracts too, then they can all naff off to Euros and we fans can enjoy the summer waiting for DD to come and for us to catch a bargin at midnight 😉

  33. rockyrocastle07 says:

I agree Romford. Maybe Wenger is finally giving up on his beloved formation…… Sorry, that’s a ridiculous thing to say….

  34. Adam says:

Morning all. Quite correct about the pitch preparation at QPR though it wasn’t as diabolical as the ones at Sunderland and Milan. Both the FA and UEFA should have a pitch compliance official who travels to the grounds after the previous match to ensure that the black arts are not employed in the unfair doctoring of the playing surface. It is cheating and also dangerous as we have found out. To have the world’s premier club tournament played in front of a TV audience of many millions on a pitch in worse condition than Hackney Marshes is a mockery. Put simply, if you cannot provide a quality surface then you forfeit the game, excluding force majeure of course. I bet it would only happen once then all pitches would be playable.

  35. Lee says:

It’s not rocket science is it? Give RVP NB’s £52k p.w salary that’ll sweeten him plus Pod,M’Vila & Vert…..it’ll be a done deal!
    We’ll need a back up goalkeeper……

  36. Mattyboy says:

yea i know rocky seem to be doing a hazard approach!! But at least he has ending his rant sayin that we would rather join us.

  37. rockyrocastle07 says:

The grounds staff at places like Sunderland should be embarrassed with themselves. Surely they can’t take pride in their work? Especially when teams like Hyde FC have better quality pitches then them. Teams like Sunderland are good enough without the need for a shit pitch, so I’m sure that isn’t the reason behind their “ploughed field”. So why are they so bad?

  38. rockyrocastle07 says:

Let’s see what happens if Spuds go above us again! Suddenly, I bet his favourite team has always been Spurs… Loved watching video’s of Hoddle when he was a boy…. Mabbutt was his idol etc!

  39. Mattyboy says:

Yea lee back up keeper is defo needed!! like i was sayin to the rock yesterday Chezza seem to be slacking a bit in goal, cause he knows he hasnt got anyone to challenging him for the numero uno spot!

  40. rico says:

    Morning Adam,

good idea, and didn’t Fergie once rough up his pitch when we had to play them in one of the Cups?

  41. Lee says:

A touch of the Robbie Keans about him….kisses the badge of every team he’s ever played for, saying “it’s been a boyhood dream that’s come true”….wanker!

  42. rockyrocastle07 says:

True Matty. He knows what dross is behind him in the pecking order. Can’t think who keeps on about Jeskelainen (not even going to attemp to pretend I know how to spell that name) but I’d take him. Even someone like Fraser Forster would be better than what we have.

  43. stevepalmer1 says:

    Morning all, fine post,
Yes vermaelen had a bad day but as you said he gets on with it and has shown he is an Arsenal man. Although i agree with what you say about players showing commitment and their undieing love for Arsenali also understand how getting the best deal they can should be expected. A player signs a contract say for 3 years and as his contract gets shorter if he has played well and has increased his saleable v

  44. rico says:

We can do without Hazard, he doesn’t know his a**e from his elbow, the swampies being the a**e of course….

Morning Steve, Scott suggested similar the other day about contracts, cut their salary by half in the penultimate season i think he said.. That would soon get them signing…

  45. stevepalmer1 says:

value i would expect him to try and get the best deal possible, sorry having problems with my name keeps encroaching in what i’m writing if you know what i mean

  46. Adam says:

Rico. I think Fergie just leaves the grass uncut to slow the pace of the ball. I read that article and believe almost every word of it to be fallacy. Typical lazy journalism that I could write without moving form my present slouched position.

  47. Scott From Oz says:

Sick of Wenger buying cheap players…..RVP awaiting him to spend…..all in one sentence…..just trying to recall exactly how much RVP cost us…….one of those bargain basement buys, hey????
Sick of reading that players are holding their club to ransom,or waiting to see if a club qualifies for CL football.
Piss off you prima donnas……give me a player who says “I want to help bring success to my club”!!!!!
    I am sick of them.
Theo hanging our for 75 grand a week….A WEEK….75 GRAND!!!!
    Get your hand off it.
RVP……we’ve put up with you giving us half seasons for years, whilst on big money.
We love you,but sign so other players can see you believe there’s a future, don’t ask then to sign so YOU think there’s a future.
    Anyone,but anyone,knocking Vermaelen is a bloody dunce.
The guy has more heart and love for the club than any five players!!!!
One off game, one slip, one offside NOT given, and he’s the worst in the world.
Those same people bagging him probably look at Kozzer and compare him,yet 12 months ago, nearly everyone wished Kozzer was half the player Vermaelen was.
Gooners everywhere….realise our club will lose games……realise that it ain’t the end if the world, and realise sticking the boot in is a piss poor way of,ahem, supporting the club.
    Evening all.

  48. Lee says:

Why don’t we lump massive buy-out clauses on star players? I’m sure I read somewhere that Hulk has a large buy out clause………not that he’s a star player imho

  49. rockyrocastle07 says:

Was that you Rico?! Know someone was banging on about him!! He’s a decent enough keeper as a back up. I’d even take Tomasz Kuszczak

  50. rico says:

I knew he did something Adam, maybe he’s just saving on petrol – he’s a bit tight you know 😉

  51. arseweb says:

My feeling is that Vermaelen is suffering now from being over-hyped before. He’s good, but he’s not amazing. He _always_ made a fair number of mistakes – in particular letting himself get pulled upfield, out of position and exposing the rest of the back line too much. He’s been going through a bad patch this year and is now suffering from the fact that there’s no cover for him (Vermaelen on his worst day is still safer than Djourou on his best).

All that’s not intended as a criticism – I love the guy it’s just that he ain’t _quite_ the consistently world class defender that some people were portraying him as. But he was still Arsenal’s best centre back, by some distance.

Now that Koscielny’s got into the groove and is looking better than Vermy, people are noticing it more.

  52. rico says:

Morning Scott, feel better after that 😉 😉

Another good idea Lee, didn’t Barca do that the very day they signed Cesc for peanuts, £100M or something similar wasn’t it?

  53. rico says:

I think we’ll get an older keeper this summer, Wengers attempts to get Swartzer (spelling) is behind my thought and Fabianski wants out..

Thankfully Almunia will be out of contract so finally he should be gone, and WEnger needs to handcuff Mannone to him as he leaves….

  54. stevepalmer1 says:

I think you guys are getting het up over paper talk, lets face it robins or Theo’s contract has not run out yet so whats the problem do you buy your car tax before it has run out course not if they don’t sign at the end at least they saw out their contracts, after all thats what they signed for.

  55. rockyrocastle07 says:

Lee… Didn’t Hulk have about EUR85m buy out clause?! He’s shit!!

Evening Scott. You’re right what you say in your post. RvP annoyed me last year when he said that we need to be winning more. I’m sure he probably said it from the treatment table, where he’s spent the best part of his career. He owes us. And he knows it.

I know we’ll lose games… But like I and a few others said yesterday… It’s the manner of the defeats that pisses us off.

  56. Scott From Oz says:

    Scotty is fired up.
Bust my arse for 50 odd hours a week, sir up til god knows what hour to watch my club play, yet I’m expected to listen other Gooners knock them when they’re doing their best(if they’re not,I will have a crack!!),and players who think they’re bigger than the club.
I love RVP as much as anyone, but I don’t want things to fizzle out as they did with Fab and Nasri.
Tell him to sign by August 1st,or he can go to the highest bidder.
    Bloody cold in Russia Robin!!!!
Let me emphasise how much I think of him,and his intentions may well be misunderstood, but my point is even Robin Van Persie is not nearly as big as Arsenal Football Club.

  57. rockyrocastle07 says:

Fair enough Steve….. But I don’t have millions of people’s hopes pinned on me renewing my car tax! And if they were, I’d make sure that I told them not to worry, I was going to get my car tax soon and all will be well. One sentence from RvP saying he’s staying will appease everyone and the conversations will stop. The silence is almost deafening.

  58. rico says:

    Welcome arseweb

I have to totally disagree, our defence hasn’t be stable because of all the rotten injuries we have suffered, TV has been at Lb for half the season, a position he has said he doesn’t like…

There can be no coincidence that our winning run started when TV and Kos were back together centrally with Sagna and Gibbs returning…

imho, TV is an outstanding central defender….

  59. rico says:

I’m not sure that’s the case Steve, if they don’t sign this summer, we lose a lot of money, money that would replace the players easily.

Scott, they need to sign before then imho – July 1st at the latest or sell them, just in case they go and get injured at the Euros….

  60. rockyrocastle07 says:

Rico – I’m inclined to agree with arseweb in the Kozzer theory. I think he’s been phenomenal this year. Yes, TV5 playing at CB has stabilised the defence… But it’s not stable when he’s alongside Djourou…. Kozzer’s emergence as a proper player has sorted us out. In my opinion! I love TV5, don’t get me wrong. But I love Kozzer more! How’s that for a gay love-in?!!

  61. Scott From Oz says:

Arseweb,I can guarantee I tipped Koscielny to be world class over 12 months ago.
Gooners tend to be overcritical,IN GENERAL,and impatient.
We do need to buy players who have potential,as we don’t have the budget of others.

  62. Scott From Oz says:

    Good call Rico.
The problem Wenger has is if he outs RVP on the spot and he leaves,he’s the worst in the world.
If he doesn’t and RVP leaves,he’s the worst in the world.
If a player wants to go,he will go.

  63. rico says:

😆 rocky, I’m not knocking Kos, he has improved so so much and is a very good defender but I can’t knock TV, he’s one of my favs…

As for Djourou, what defence would be stable with him in it?

  64. rockyrocastle07 says:

Haha! Pretty sure there’s a fence to be sat on somewhere too Lee! Seriously, he’s garbage. That’s like us sticking a £70m buy out on Denilson!!

  65. stevepalmer1 says:

Lets face it we don’t know whether they have told Wenger they are staying or not, they could quite easily have said they would but it may suit Wenger to keep it quiet, its plainto all supporters that Wenger never lets his right hand know what his left hand is doing, and what that actually has proved that he gets the most money out of it at the end of the day, like all transfers it is not always set in stone but Wenger has an uncanny knack of getting value for money.

  66. rockyrocastle07 says:

Kozzer had 1 season in the French top flight. He then came to us and went straight in the team. The fact he is as good as he is now after only 2 years in nothing short of spectacular. And the man’s glaringly obvious desire to get the ball first and to win for Arsenal is what I want to see from everyone.

  67. rockyrocastle07 says:

Fair enough Steve, but everyone at Arsenal is well aware of the unrest this is causing. If he’s already decided to stay, it would be beneficial to everyone if it was announced.

  68. rico says:

What will be will be in the end Scott and as you say, if a player wants out then so be it – no money will stop them, but i think the deals are pretty much done anyway, it’s all a cunning plan for this summers activities by our club….

  69. Scott From Oz says:

    Rico,I hope you’re right.
Steve, your comment about Wenger is dead on….he gives nothing away.
Why is it though that people always complain about him lying regarding transfer targets?????
He never says a word, people read rumours in the media or on the net, they don’t come off and he’s lied again lol.

  70. rico says:

    Here is my theory:

    Season ends – Podolski confirmed

Walcott then signs on, shortly followed by RvP

M’Vila and Vertonghen are signed shortly after.

    Then, the mass exodus begins…..

    Simples 🙂

  71. rockyrocastle07 says:

I think I’d even take £7 in luncheon Vouchers (do they even exist? Doesn’t matter… I’d swap them for him even if they were expired and obsolete and still think I got the better deal)

  72. adam says:

rocky. No tea and toast today mate. I have just sparked up a huge Sisha water pipe like Chamakh and am laying here re-enacting his escapades in Las Vegas. It is a bit painful though.

  73. rico says:

I don’t believe a word wenger says when it comes to transfers….

rocky – Groupon vouchers, they are all the fashion these days…

  74. rockyrocastle07 says:

I keep forgetting his Vegas escapades!! God, I hope whoever it was he decided to park up that night didn’t run their fingers through the chicken grease in his hair…..

  75. stevepalmer1 says:

Hi Rocky, makes me wonder at times, football clubs are a business and CL pays round about £30 mill say we were to miss out and an offer for Robin came in for £35 to £40 mill would the money be more important than the player 15 years of CL money gets to be taken for granted our normal profit announcement has become normal makes you wonder at times doesnt it.

  76. rockyrocastle07 says:

You’re right Steve. And I’m pretty sure if that offer came in, it would be considered at great length. If that were to happen, it would be a massive kick in the teeth. Especially as Ivan Smugides said it wouldn’t be a big deal if we didn’t get CL football…. It would almost be as if selling RvP would be their contingency plan to balance the books

  77. rico says:

rocky, i don’t think he would, it could mean the end of JD though….

At least we’d have a stronger ‘DM’ and a quality left back for when Gibbs is out…

  78. rockyrocastle07 says:

Rico, I’m sure if I went to the Ems with a pair of boots, I’D mean the end of Djourou….

  79. rico says:

I’m heading off for a while, Fido needs a wash, cut and blow-dry at the groomers 🙂

Catch you all later on this afternoon, have a good day….

  80. rockyrocastle07 says:

I could post a few things in response to that Adam… All of which I’m sure would be frowned upon!!

  81. Micko says:

    Morning all,
Rico, your turning into a little rottweiler.
Lee, your cutting it a bit short for the Citeh game aren’t ya.
I’m with Scott, wenger out, as for rvp he hasn’t scored for two games now, flog him.

  82. adam says:

rocky. I assure you I am naive to such things. But I wouldn’t want to offend any sensibilities here.

  83. Lee says:

The difference is Jar Jar Binks can trap a bag of cement and when through on goal he wouldn’t pass backwards….

  84. rockyrocastle07 says:

    Agreed Adam!!

Jar Jar Binks does seem to trip over a lot though…. And there are a few times that he looks like he is about to cry. Plenty of similarities there!

  85. kc says:

morning all……rico….am i the only naija guy here…..RVP should jus clear the air….no one is bigger than arsenal

  86. rockyrocastle07 says:

Morning KC. Not sure if you are the only one… Out of us 2 you are!!

Chamug must surely see that his future doesn’t belong to Arsenal. He’ll go back to France in the Summer.

I still think RvP will sign

  87. Lee says:

kc, maybe RVP has already told AW that he’ll sign if we show some transfer intent…that’s why he’s trying to do his business early doors!

  88. Scott From Oz says:

Rocky,I think he will too……why can’t he just do it and we will all know where he stands.

  89. kc says:

ROCKY….welcome mate…apparently im from d east….all of us want RVP to sign….who knows if he will or not…but replacing him(if he goes) with a cavani quality is not bad…..telling us Afobe/campbell will be better is suicidal….i might give vela anoda chance bt ping boot sud just piss off………bt is clear….VP owe us

  90. rockyrocastle07 says:

Thanks K.. Personally, I don’t think Vela is worth another go. He’s not suited to our league. There’s so much crap we need top show the exit door but I doubt we will.

  91. kc says:

lEE….we hope so…..but AW might be doing this early busines cos he is so certain that players’ price will sky rocket after the EUros

  92. Scott From Oz says:

    Lee,hence why TV5 deserves credit.
He could’ve gone just about anywhere.
He didn’t hold the club to ransom.
    He simply signed.

  93. kc says:

ROCKY….agreed but did we gave vela enuf chance….i dont think so….rico….any news on our Brazillian wellington

  94. rockyrocastle07 says:

Lee, I’m not mate, no. Only have a “hot desk” log on these days.

Totally agree Scott. We just need a few more to show the same devotion.

  95. rockyrocastle07 says:

We didn’t give him much of a chance, no. But I really don’t think he’s right for the English game. The same way Reyes struggled.

  96. Lee says:

Agree Scott, he has a bad day at the office and people wanna bury him…..that’s bollocks! He wears the canon on his chest with pride, we’ve lacked people with that kind of commitment/passion for a while, the knock on effect of TV signing can only do the club some good!!!

  97. Lee says:

As for this vertonghen whoring himself around to all and sundry is that not lazy journalism?? Fuck all to give Arsenal any shit about let’s write…blah blah blah!!

  98. W.A.T.H says:

Kc re wellington… he got the boot mate….!

TV is top notch anyone who says otherwise ain’t got a scooby…!

  99. Lee says:

Trouble is kc…Giroud is 6ft3″ striker, AW will play him in the pink boots position out wide………..

  100. W.A.T.H says:

Lee if you read what Vertonghen said he never really whored himself around at all, he has merely said when teams been mentioned by journo’s that yes they are quality teams and he’s be interested but for now he is an Ajax player… the one team he has said he really likes is us…! Unlike hazard who has been selling himself to the whole planet the little tart…. Na$ri 2 me thinks…………

  101. Lee says:

Yeah, what I’ve seen of Micky (not a lot tbh) he looks good but as you say, he looks like a grass is greener merchant! Gotze was the one that I really liked but he’s signed an extension…..
I’m popping out for bite, catch you later peeps!

  102. Scott From Oz says:

Wath,I’ve read plenty if the interviews Hazard has done….not internet interpretations….and never have I read anything different to what Vertonghen says.
    Id have them both.

  103. rockyrocastle07 says:

IT’s old, but the strange he wasn’t even mentioning Arsenal there. And didn’t really, until we overtook them.

  104. Scott From Oz says:

The players get asked about a certain clubs interest in them and respond.
    Including Hazard…..what should they say?
Tottenham…..no,they’re a low grade club,I’d never go there!!!!!
    Seriously????
That’s how it plays out,yet the interpretation is they’re selling themselves.

  105. rockyrocastle07 says:

Of course not Scott, I’m not dumb, I certainly know how these things work. But why only start mentioning Arsenal when we overtook Spurs? He was linked with us long before he was them.

And how do you know the reports weren’t initiated by him or his agent first? Why must it be a reporter who asks the question first?

Bottom line… I’m not fussed either way if he comes or not.

  106. DutchGooner10 says:

Lone Ranger Chamug blows smoke rings to warn chief: “10 minutes doesn’t exactly put me on cloud 9, you want me starving for oxygen??? I will be steamrolling until the ozone whole is plugged, this suntan isn’t spray on, you know, UV-rays are affecting my career. See you in Vegas, stick bread”

    AfterGoon all.

  107. W.A.T.H says:

Scott, I’ve heard plenty players say sperz who…………?

Hazard for me touts himself at every opportunity and have seen his i/v’s he will play for who ever offers the most money watch…! As said another Na$ri for me………..!

That’s very old on JV….. He mentioned us last season as well, as you say Scott the journo’s make most of it up but there are a few that make it obvious they just in it for the dosh…!

  108. rockyrocastle07 says:

And if reports are actuially true that Podolski “didn’t know who spurs were” kind of answers that, yes, they can respond it that way. Of course he knew who they were beforehand.

  109. Scott From Oz says:

Rocky, nobody accused you of being dumb.
I did say that the interviews I’d seen went that way….all of them.
If you’ve seem differently, then say so.

  110. rockyrocastle07 says:

To be honest Scott, most players decline to comment while they are still under contract in the interviews I’ve seen.

  111. Scott From Oz says:

Wath,I’m not sure the journos make it up so much as asking loaded questions.
No player, well very few, would disrespect a club who potentially is an employer.
They’re stuck when a journo asks how they felt about the Spurs manager showing an I.retest in them.
It’s funny people bag Hazard, who according to many has named Arsenal amongst others as a destination, yet love Gotze who showed no desire at all to join us or anyone else for that matter.

  112. rockyrocastle07 says:

I think increasingly these days reporters are specifically told not to ask certain questions by the press liaison people. I agree that some maybe too dumb to sidestep a rogue question, but I think for the most part it’s not mentioned. I’ve lost track of the “….. declined to comment” in the paper!

  113. rockyrocastle07 says:

To be honest mate, I’ve not kept up with this whole Hazard thing at all. Not really seen any stories of him, so can’t comment on him really.

  114. Scott From Oz says:

I just think hes got a raw deal.
He may well be another Nasri, but its yet to he proven one way or the other.
One thing he has is the X factor we could use.
I must day if Podolski has or will sign,he has done so with no promise of CL football,so unless Wenger has promised big spending,he’s done it for all the right reasons.

  115. rockyrocastle07 says:

    I hope you’re right Scott.

I know you’re a big fan of Hazard. I’ve honestly never seen him play… not even highlights.

  116. UpTheArse says:

Good day all. Hope we are well.
Just read the article and not the comments so I’m sure it has all been said.
Chamakh: regardless of whether he smokes a pipe or not should be shipped at the end of the season, we got him on a free so £5mill would be a decent bit of business.
Like many others don’t understand the stick that Vermaelen is getting, were these same people being critical when he was scoring the winner in the dying minutes of a few recent games. A lot of fans are just never happy and love a whinge! Don’t get me wrong I’m far from happy with the weekends result but for me the whole team didn’t do enough to warrant much from the game, lets hope they can put that right against City!!

  117. Scott From Oz says:

    I honestly don’t know Rocky.
    Id have either,or both lol.
    If…bloody big if….we got Hazard,for 35 million,I can only see his price going up,so if he’s a Nasri,so be it…..cash in on him.
If not,we will have an out and out superstar.

  118. Scott From Oz says:

    Agreed UTA.
Chamakh should be sold for stupidity…..fancy letting someone take your photo…..dumbarse!!!!!

  119. rockyrocastle07 says:

Both Scott!! I don’t think the world would be able to take the scock of 2 massive signings in one season at Arsenal!

  120. Scott From Oz says:

    Hence the lol……
Hazard is the only one we can get now,so I will change my decision of either/both to Hazard.
Word has it his brother, whose about 16 or 17 is a sensation in the making also.
    Thor,I think his name is.
The parents had fun with the names, didn’t they???

  121. UpTheArse says:

Can’t see us getting hazard, with City and the like sniffing round him his price will only go up and he is not worth the prices that are being banded around (well at least not yet). Plus I don’t think Arsene would want to ‘kill’ Ryo’s progression.

  122. rockyrocastle07 says:

It’s ok mate, I know you were only joking….!

I think we should get Thor just for the sake of it!

Can Hazard play through the middle or is he more of a winger?

  123. W.A.T.H says:

Hmmm good point there UTA regarding Ryo and buying Hazard………! hadn’t given that scenario much thoughts 2b honest….!

  124. Scott From Oz says:

    He can play both Rocky.
Ryo is one player I cannot wait to see in the first team.
    Another bargain buy.
I’ve spruiked Joel Campbell since the day we signed him.
Big and raw,but will be a ripper.
There’s plenty to look forward to.

  125. rockyrocastle07 says:

From what I’ve seen of Ryo this season, I’ve been really impressed. Heard good things about Campbell too, so you’re right, the future looks pretty tasty

  126. UpTheArse says:

Ryo does look a bit tasty, has seized his opportunity (as jack did) and shown everyone at Arsenal that he has what it takes.
Anyone have an informed opinion on whether Theo will sign an extension, obviously if not we will need another winger. Hazard??!! Ha.

  127. Scott From Oz says:

Every week my opinion changes on Theo.
If the right offer came in,I wouldn’t be devastated to let him go.

  128. rockyrocastle07 says:

I’m generally down on Theo. a handful of good games doesn’t warrant such a massive pay hike in my opinion.

  129. UpTheArse says:

Even before Theo had this upturn in form I wanted to keep him but not for the wages that are being talked about. Performance based bonuses on top of a decent wage, hopefully that would increase his consistency.

  130. Merlin96 says:

    AFternoon all.

Look, it is a TEAM issue and no one player to blame.
THAT TEAM at QPR just simply don’t gell…and did not play as a UNIT.

It is up to the manager to fix the TEAM, to select the players that can play to his tactical formation; tactics customised to suit each opponent respectively.

We can beat Abu Dhabi CIty this weekend, as long as Arsene Wenger got his tactics with the requisite players selected to suit his tactical formation.

    SImple isn’t it?
And why Wenger is paid 6-mil per annum.

And of course, Wenger can’t plan for individual mistake; and why it is called “accident” or “an accident waiting to happen”.

  131. UpTheArse says:

I’m sure they are given to every player. I don’t know exact figures but if theo is on 60k/week now and wants 90k then a slight increase on his current wage to say 65-70k and to build it up to 90 he would have to be scoring goals and making assists week in week out to earn the bonuses.
But yeah rocky hopefully the days of rewarding mediocrity are over.

  132. Scott From Oz says:

UTA,exactly what I said about Theo.
He may end up worth 90k a week, but not yet,and he needs to be more consistent to get there.

  133. W.A.T.H says:

Scott, agents would be up in arms if pay was incentive and performance based… Can you imagine…? they’d all go on strike…! Problem is for 95% of the clubs they’d all back it but the money bags would say we dont care we will pay what they want and thats the whole thing fucked.

  134. DutchGooner10 says:

Link rumours are stock trade information, speculative spins on the basis of need and want to create ghost value and generate Facebook-esq like traffic on a players profile. The internet is a economy on its own. Today’s or yesterday’s stories are just journos filling their day job, preparing for harvest season: the transfer period. They familiarize you with personified brands now to do less introduction later. Around the transfer period conversion on rumours are measured in seconds not hours, minutes or days. Website managers order content staff to grab the nipples of the cashcows and have their copy-paste library from the off-season ready when the battle for CTR (Click Through Rates) heats up.

It’s not about slow-newsweek, career moves or club ambition at all. It’s about the battle for your brain. Marketing covert persuasion to sell visitor numbers to advertisers in high-season when fan interest lowers their guard on useful information.

Most sites don’t even mind competitors copy and run their story. One source isn’t scoop journalism any more, many are telling and helps raising the value of the topic. Giving it a longer lifespan.

  135. Merlin96 says:

The Danish star has hit it off well with Stephane Sessegnon, culminating in an excellent display against Manchester City at the weekend.

However, O’Neill is not hopeful of retaining the Danish star who has netted four goals in seven games in March.

He said: “I’ve not thought about his future at all. I’ve not mentioned it to him, there’s no point in putting pressure on anyone at the moment.

“Bendtner played as a real proper centre-forward. He was holding the ball, bringing people into play – and he scored he goal. On a performance like that his self-vaunted opinion of himself is maybe justified.”

O’Neill believes the 24-year-old may still fancy his chances of making his mark at Arsenal, and added: “He’s played very well and may think that with that type of performance he’s still capable of breaking into Arsenal’s squad.”
    ____________________________________________

Well, Bentner returns and we buy Sessegnon who seems to deevleop a good understanding with him?

Say..like AUgust 2011…we sell Van Persie and Walcott for refusing to sign a new contract…and buy Sessegnon partnering Nik for 2012/13 season…

    …………………………..Szczesny

    ….Sagna….Mertesacker……..Vermaelen…….Gibbs

    ………………………….Koscielny

    ….Sessegnon…..WIlshere…..Rosicky………Ox-C

    ……………………………Bendtner

  136. Scott From Oz says:

Micko, that will be followed up by his Greatest Hits cd.
    Dutch….very deep!!!
Remember its late here,so small words bud lol.

  137. UpTheArse says:

Merlin: If RVP is off, I sincerely hope Bendtner is NOT his replacement. Sessegnon for Theo I could deal with though.

  138. Merlin96 says:

    It is “supply and demand”:

If Walcott continues to score in every game now……..and one of the stars at Euro2012, amongst the top scorers..

Guess what is his market value and how many teasm are willing to pay him 100K to 160K?

Walcott’s agent will be daft to agree on any new contract now with him hitting form and showing a glimpse of his potential when plays more centrally and with a co-striker where he can devleop an understanding.

Van Persie’s agent and Walcott’s agent are playing hard-ball now as both of ’em can wait for after EUro2012 to decide their future.

FOlks, I see it as a re-run of that Cesc-Nasari Saga all over again, with the usual suspects are to tap ’em up..

Imagine RvP winning the Golden Boot award, PFA PLayer of teh year….blah..blah……and still negotiating with Arsenal in July 2012…….there goes our pre-season 2012/13 preparation….Groundhog Day.

  139. W.A.T.H says:

Scott, totally agree mate is makes sense it’s practical and seems fair to me BUT am sure the players and agents would throw their toys out the cot….! The rest of us put up with 5% increases IF we lucky these fuckers get 25% and still they not satisfied…!

  140. Merlin96 says:

    UpTheArse says:

If Nik continues to score in every game…and has a fien Euro2012 as well……..perhaps some daft team will be willing to cough out 12-mil for him.

Nik said he will only sign for a top-team and want to play CL Cup or EUropean football.
If no team is willing to buy him and offer him European football, Nik will not leave and happily collecting 52K and play out his contract.
    Time is on his side.

And if Nik scores double-figure this season, Wenger may have a chnage of heart if Nik is willing to coem back and prepare to take his chanc eon the bench.

Better Nik on the bench rather than CHamakh and Park CY – two jackasses for the price of one Danish.
We can always send him bakc to Sunderland or Bolton comes January 2013

  141. Micko says:

Scott, I think he bought it out at 21 didn’t he………unbelievable.
He still has his best years ahead of him imo and remember he has Southampton DNA so he shouldn’t get too big for his granny knickers either unlike some we could mention.

  142. Merlin96 says:

ManU is 5 points ahead, and 8 points if they win on Saturday.

Guess which ABu DHabi CIty team will turn-up against Arsenal?
All fired-up or feel so sorry fort ehmselves that they can’t be bothered to play and already planning for their summer holidays – busily planning where to spend the Sheikh’s petrodollars?

CLichy, Nasri: “I join ABu DHabi to win medals, titles, trophies, silverwares and camel dungs.” ROTFLMAO

  143. Scott From Oz says:

    It’s been a pleasure guys….great discussion.
I’m off now,so have a great day all.

  144. UpTheArse says:

Merlin: Bendy ahead of Chamakh or park agreed, but if we lose RVP, surely we have to aim a bit higher?

  145. rockyrocastle07 says:

Theo Walcott: “why I suddenly realised I wasn’t worth 80k a week and instead signed for 65k” has a better ring to it Lee!

  146. Micko says:

    Nite Scott……..bloody part timers.

Lee, you’ll have to check out the paella in Spain, that’s the real reason cesc moved back to barca, they weren’t up to much in London apparently.

  147. W.A.T.H says:

Chmuk and Park replaced by Afobe and Campbell….. Podolski to bolster the attack Bendy has a decent Euro’s and we get 8mil for him…. anything over 5mil for Chmuk and Park would be great biz and look at salary saved on Bend, Chmuk and Park easy 150K a week…!

  148. DutchGooner10 says:

    Micko 🙂 re part timers

Scotty real funny, now beam down my clothes. Laters fella. 😉

  149. W.A.T.H says:

Micko, hows the kilt wearing going today matey…? stay off the black stuff til at least 8pm as well…!

  150. Micko says:

Wath, its been nothing short of a miracle how we’ve managed to get through this season with Chamakh and Park as back-up, it could easily have back-fired big time, looks like we may have got away with it by the seat of our underpants for the time being at least, it has to be all change in the summer.

    How it hanging dutch.

  151. W.A.T.H says:

Agreed mate, the fact RVP has stayed fit has indeed papered over the fact that chmuk is so shit and so unreliable…..! It could still backfire on us though mate so lets not count our chickens just yet…!

  152. Lee says:

Not that funny but, there’s a tapas bar I go to watch the Arsenal games and there’s this little Spanish fcker in there, he always greets my in his pigeon English with…. got any more players for us this season?

  153. DutchGooner10 says:

Micko you talk miracle I say it’s a manifestation of God. Blimey nothing short of biblical fortune.

I’m lounged with a coffee wetting ears of pages in a magazine with my fingertips Micko. No interesting reads to find.

  154. W.A.T.H says:

Your slow Lee, Lee him yeh plenty fella you can start by taking Bendy, Denilson,Chmuk and Almunia and we’ll take another 25million off ya… Cheers….!

  155. Lee says:

I like your Plymouth WATH, but he/they wouldn’t want that shower of shite!! ONLY Arsenal persist with those under-performing James Hunts!!!
Eat yellow snow was my tip to him, Rock………. 😉

  156. DutchGooner10 says:

Basil says to Manuel “You have rats in Spain, don’t you – or did Franco have them all shot?”

  157. rico says:

Hi rocky, she is, sulking a bit having been left, but she looks mighty fine thanks 🙂

::( re Chamakh, hopefully soon though….

  158. W.A.T.H says:

Tell him go eat some worms off the pitch seeing as those barca’s spend so much time rolling around on the grass….!

    I bet he’s Espanyol in disguise 😉

  159. Lee says:

I’m gonna love you and leave you all….i’m getting the Stansted express through leg-draggersville! Chat later on peeps!!

  160. rockyrocastle07 says:

Bore off Lee!! Enjoy seeing how the other half live (good half that is) at the good end of Liverpool STreet!!

Have a good one. No blogging while you’re away…….!

  161. rockyrocastle07 says:

Congrats Rico! What’s amazing is that only about 5% of comments have been worthwhile!! (Only kidding!! Only been on here less than a year so can’t pass judgement)!!

  162. DutchGooner10 says:

That’s diabolical Micko considering he Googled weather predictions. “If you like pina colada’s you have stand in the rain”

  163. Micko says:

Dutch, in Ireland it’s always raining so we just find ourselves a good high stool for the afternoon.

Hello rico, chamakh would tell ya that’s just a clarinet in his hand, you’ve got it all wrong.

  164. DutchGooner10 says:

CONGRATS RICO AN HONOUR TO BE PART OF HISTORY.

  165. W.A.T.H says:

Lee flashing……………. Best we keep an eye on skynews next few days for deviants in Spain on the loose…!

  166. DutchGooner10 says:

There’s no shame in being a bit commercially. Heck even Arsshave sells space on his personal site. He still runs a banner for Arsenal leisure gear while his headshot-kit picture on top of the starting page is changed to Zenith’s.

  167. rico says:

😆 rocky, you are on good form today…

😆 Micko, i thought you would have said it was something other than a clarinet… and did i see you called me a rotti earlier 😉

Thanks DG, as I always say, it’s only the bloggers who make it work, so thanks to all of you good guys and gals….

  168. rockyrocastle07 says:

Haha!! That’s one of my facourite words at the moment wath…. Deviant!! Really sums someone up!!

  169. rockyrocastle07 says:

I think it’s just delirium Rico… Knowing how much work I have to do by tomorrow evening, and I’ve been on here most of the day!!

  170. rockyrocastle07 says:

A prt of me really want’s it to be Dutch’s Basil Fawlty comment about the rats!! Shame it wasn’t his comment yesterday about that footballer looking like a Polish Plasterer!! I’m actually still laughing about that comment!!

  171. rico says:

rocky, I have counted back and worked it out to be Lee, his comment was to sell Song and Theo….

Now could that be spooky 🙂

  172. allezkev says:

It seems that Arsenal want to sell Chamakh, but that he doesn’t want to go.
    For financial reasons of course.
In England he gets approx 55k/60k.
In France he’d get 40k, even with PSG it seems?!

Night rocky, have a good one yourself….

Time for Wenger to force a few issues AK, there are a few that need to be told to go….

  175. W.A.T.H says:

Evening fluffy slipper man… next it’s smoking jacket and pipe watch…..

Chmuk will be hard to get rid of when paid so handsomely to be utterly shit…! Another one of wengers super super quality signings….!

  176. DutchGooner10 says:

Hiya evening (almost) AK. Chamug will go, Morrocans are pride geezers. Besides he still got a few years to go in his career. Over the long run he will loose income not playing.

  178. allezkev says:

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger feels the Football Association must sort out who will be England manager sooner rather than later. 😀

  179. allezkev says:

Frenchman Wenger, 62, has himself been approached for the England job in the past, and accepts the FA are in a difficult position, but one which must be resolved quickly.

“I don’t know their plan completely, I think they have been taken by surprise a bit with Capello going,” said Wenger.

“They are now in a difficult situation and the sooner they sort it out, the better it is, but it is not easy for the federation [FA] at the moment because they do not want to interfere with what is going on in the Premier League. You can understand that.”

After long being criticised for a lack of English talent in the Arsenal squad, Wenger now has a core of England youngsters at London Colney.

Midfielder Jack Wilshere is making steady progress on his return to fitness from a niggly ankle injury which has seen him miss all of the season so far.

Wenger revealed there was still a chance the 20-year-old could feature at the European Championships.

“The latest on Jack Wilshere is positive, but cautious. That means he is doing well in training and is getting stronger every week,” said Wenger.

“At the moment it is too difficult to say he will play in the Euros.

“You cannot rule it out, but as well you cannot say with certainty he will be fit and available before the end of the season.”

  180. rico says:

AK, those pictures sum it up really, but i wonder why someone at the DT reckons he knows everything….

  181. allezkev says:

Rico, no news means either inventing it or recycling it. 🙂

Just thought that they were good pics, especially Nik. The story of his football life in a picture. 😉

  182. allezkev says:

Evening Dutch and Wath. How are you gentleman on this fine day?

    I feel like crap….

But i can always cheer myself up by counting my money eh Adam…. 😀

  183. W.A.T.H says:

I’m fine thanx AK you take it easy mate plenty whiskey honey n lemon but you know that your as old as my Gran who told me 😉

Those fluffy slippers will at least keep you warn n snug you just get better mate.

  184. allezkev says:

Dutch, what’s the media response over there on De Boer’s opinion’s on Vertonghen being more suited to Spain or Italy?

  185. DutchGooner10 says:

Sir AK Vertonghen himself has instructed his agent to talk to clubs from the EPL. So, it would only interest him if Barca came knocking, as I predicted we would face competition from them. But again he prefers Fish & Chips (being Belgian and so) above paella or pasta Bolognese. 😉

  186. DutchGooner10 says:

    Adam

Caught this band on radio in a ‘special’ you might fancy. They also told the interviewer to be gear freaks, most notable vintage guitars. Being asked if they had an attic full of fresh purchases, one band member replied: “just old instruments, madam. And always on the prowl to add”

    http://www.mosstheband.com/

P.S. Don’t thank me. Life is for sharing.

  187. Adam says:

    Hiya Kev,

No mate. A rather selfish day buying things. Just gonna watch Barca and AC Milan.
DG. If you ever want a vintage instrument, I’m your man.

  188. Adam says:

    DG. Are they Dutch?

I met some musicians at a great audio store in Hilversulm called Rhapsody who were really clued up on music and older instruments. They were all good players and very friendly people too.

  189. DutchGooner10 says:

Adam I’m many things but no guitar player. 😉 I leave such things to Clapton, B.B. King or pikeys at the entrance of my local supermarket. Will keep my ears open though for any interests from others.

  190. Adam says:

Actually, thinking about it there is a truly great Dutch gypsy guitar player called Jimmy Rosenberg. Heard of him? He plays in the style of the amazing Django Reinhardt.

  191. DutchGooner10 says:

Yes Adam they are Dutch. Up and rising at the moment. What surprised me was they mainly been touring the European continent without visiting GB. Given they communicate in English they are looking to expand their horizon.

  192. DutchGooner10 says:

Rapshody doesn’t ring a bell. Rosenberg does, he actually plays with family called the Rosenberg Trio. Virtuosic sells them short, famous throughout the globe.

  193. W.A.T.H says:

This is all far to intellectually musical for me……… I can’t even whistle properly…!

  194. DutchGooner10 says:

Ohh and how could I forget Jan Akkerman. I believe Rosenberg Trio made an album called ‘Djangolist’.

    WHAT you culture brutal. 😉

  195. DutchGooner10 says:

Nahh WATH I (and AK I’m sure) love to read your comments. Always sharp, always slang lingo rich. Which me likes. 😛

  196. allezkev says:

    Wath, you’re really just a pussycat…. 😐

Dutch, good news on Vert. I’m still hopefull.

  197. DutchGooner10 says:

SAK There are reasons for me to think the ‘in’s’ are being dealt with earlier this year. So AW can concentrate fully on a clear-out and contract renewals.

    WATH is Puss in Boots.

  198. allezkev says:

Adam, never heard of the Rosenberg Trio, definately gonna look them up.

My Uncle used to go to jazz clubs in the late 40’s and 50’s.
He goes on endlessly about Reinhart.

  199. allezkev says:

Dutch, my lad got me into Nirvana…
    Gutted when Cobain commited suicide.
    My hero was Jimi Hendrix.

  200. DutchGooner10 says:

Kev Nirvana never grabbed me but I recognize they were a monument to music in their own right.

I have many likings all over the genre spectrum. Rod Stewart, Sting (old skool days) , Bob Marley………….. R&B, Jazz,Blues,HipHop (also old skool) Deep House

  201. Scott From Oz says:

    Morning all.
100,000 posts hey….well done to all involved.
I must say the quality of posts has improved dramatically over the last 6 weeks.
Oh,there’s another milestone to celebrate….my 6 week anniversary posting on HH!!!!

  202. DutchGooner10 says:

Kev we should be wise enough to acknowledge another round in the CL would have pitted us against Barca a year too early. I hold nothing against Fab but I want him to know and mostly feel the quality club he walked out on. Next year I wish to face them after the groupstages.

  203. allezkev says:

Eventually we’re gonna turn those Cataloonians over Dutch.
We almost did it last time. Maybe next time we’ll have the originality of an unbiased referee, then lets see eh Dutch…..

Look out, tie ya kangaroo down sport, he’s ‘ere…
    Morning Scott.

  204. allezkev says:

Arsenal rookie keeper Damian Martinez cannot wait to go out on loan so he can challenge Wojciech Szczesny for the No.1 spot.

The Argentinean is highly-rated at Arsenal and has been in superb form for the club’s reserve side this season.

The 19-year-old has been tipped to emulate Szczesny by making his mark on the first team as a youngster.

But he now thinks his next step will be a spell away from the club, much like Szczesny’s was with Brentford.

The young Pole was scarcely known outside Emirates Stadium before a highly productive spell with the west London club and he emerged as Arsene Wenger’s first-choice shortly after his return.

And Martinez said: “Wojciech said he wasn’t ready for the first team yet so he went out on loan and learned so much there.

“Then he came back to Arsenal and played in the first team as he was ready.

“Next season a loan spell could be an option for me.

“I am still looking forward to being on the bench for a few more games, trying to do my best in the reserves and then be ready for the first team.

“These are my ambitions for the next two months.”

  205. DutchGooner10 says:

Kev I want to break Barca in a unprecedented flow of creativity. Wipe all praise from the past seasons from the slate and making Messianic doubt to pension at Camp Nou.

Speaking of Spanish been missing JM.

Ahhh Skippy practicing his sarcasm always a larf. Morning Scott congrats on your perseverance.

  206. allezkev says:

Dutch, i just want to beat them when it really matters.
    I don’t care about Cesc.
I just want to see the Barca fans hurt as i have hurt in recent years going back to that 2-4 defeat at Wembley.

Scott, i’m good mate. The heavy cold i’ve been suffering from, is lifting.
You know that your under pressure to start another 7 match winning run this weekend – Lucky Digger.. 😉

  207. DutchGooner10 says:

Well since the night guard arrived I will pack my lunchbox and thermos to go home.

Night Scott enjoy ya shift. Night Kev don’t forget your spoon of honey/lemon. See you peeps.

  208. Scott From Oz says:

I’m away camping this weekend, but if I can’t watch it,I will be here with you all.
Glad to hear your picking up AK.

  209. allezkev says:

    Good man Scott.

    We need your Antipodeon optimism.

Feeling a bit knackered now mate.

Hiya Wath, did ya see the game tonight?
I’m cheering for the Chavs tomorrow.
A CL S/F straddling our EPL game is just the tonic…

  210. DutchGooner10 says:

Messianic = Messi. He said this week to pension his career at Barfa (no typo) without interruption.

    I agree Cesc.

    Really off. Night.

  211. allezkev says:

Arsenal are set to rival PSG in a bidding war for Sunderland dynamo Stephane Sessegnon.

The Benin winger has attracted interest from leading European clubs since Martin O’Neill admitted the Wearsiders may struggle to keep him because his family have not settled in the North East.

Sunderland paid PSG £6million for Sessegnon but his value has increased to around £10m after a series of breathtaking performances this year which have hauled Sunderland into the top four on results in 2012.

O’Neill will have scope to reshape his squad in the summer and finding fresh impetus up front will be a priority, with Nicklas Bendtner‘s loan spell ending and Sessegnon the subject of interest from wealthy rivals.

  212. DutchGooner10 says:

    SCALLY

Scally is a low life looser who lacks the basic education to string together more than 5 words. Preventing them to pick up the only job they qualify for as they can’t say ” Do you want fries with that??”

    Yeah I own a slang dictionary, WATH. 😛 😛

  213. W.A.T.H says:

  216. allezkev says:

    Good Morning Gooners.
Camping Scott, yeah that’s the life.
But you Aussies have lots of nice warm weather, your just a bunch of softies. 😉
You haven’t camped until it’s rained for a week and your ankle deep in mud…
When you’ve dug out your own latrine.
    Now that is a honey….
Cold baked beans for dinner, hmmmm.
No camp beds, just a sleeping bag straight onto a groundsheet.
Sitting around a camp fire at night to keep warm, a billy can on the go for a hot cuppa tea…
    That’s camping….
And there’s no chance of me ever doing it again… 😛

  217. allezkev says:

Yeah, i took the guv’nor to work and decided to stay up.
It’s a nice sunny day down here Rico.
    What’s it like out West?

  218. rico says:

Bit mixed at the moment, but it’s meant to bucket down with rain later 🙁

Hopefully not until my washing has dried on the line 🙂

  219. allezkev says:

There’s a good piece in the Telegraph about that.
    I’ll cut & paste it a bit lata….

Nothing we didn’t already know about.

UEFA, bent as a 9 bob note.

  220. allezkev says:

Yeah, we had some rain early this morning.

And i kept yesterdays bath as well, in order to water my pots out the front… 🙂
