Campbell scores, Lansbury gets two, Ryo gets player of the month & RvP survives….

Short one today guys and gals as I’m having all sorts of connection problems….

Joel Campbell played last night for Costs Rica and scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Wales in what was an emotional evening as players and fans together paid tribute to Gary Speed.

RvP played the first half for Holland in a 3-2 victory over England, Robben denied the home side in the dying moments of the game, good, who wants Parker to enjoy a victory as Captain? Me neither, not after what he did to Vermaelen at the weekend. No doubt the stories about RvP were just that, otherwise we can be sure that the Dutch camp wouldn’t have risked him, not with the Euros looming…

Henri Lansbury went from goalkeeper for West ham to goal scorer for the England under 21’s, the first was a peach, albeit a cross. 😉

Chamberlain also played his part in the fixture, setting up one and converting a penalty in a 4-0 drubbing of their Belgium counterparts.

Ryo had a call up for Japan but didn’t take part in the evenings 1-0 loss to Uzbekistan – still, I don’t suppose he minded, he’s probably still on a  high having been voted Bolton’s player of the month for February – didn’t take him long to make his mark did it?

Arshavin was back to his best too for Russia, he got himself on the score-sheet and set up the other and his country beat Denmark 2-0!

That’s about it for the moments that matter from International night – and to date, no injuries reported for our players….

Have a good day all, I’m off to take my laptop to the ‘menders’ …… 🙁

Hope to catch you later…..

Morning all, just a quick hello and bye bye, no laptop for most of the day, hope to be back later on this afternoon, depends how long it takes….

    🙁

lee, Lansbury said it was a cross 😉 😉

Catch you all later….. fingers crossed

  2. devilgunner says:

Hiya folks. Good morning guys and chicks of the Gunners’ faith.

    Morning Lady.

    Howdy Lee and Scott.

Lansbury’s intention was that of a cross although it went in due to being wind assisted. However it had an uncanny swerve which fooled the keeper (even me who though that it was a swerving pile driver) and dipped in at the last moment. IT may have been fortunate but it was a great goal all the same.

Campbell’s goal was a good goal also and as Scott said, his movement is great. I feel that with Campbell, Ryo, Afobe and maybe (I believe when I see it) Podolski, Gervinho, Theo and RVP the attack at our club would be awesome.

  3. lee says:

Devil, why do we leak goals, is it becuase of our midfield or a combination? As soon as we sort the defending out with our strikers/wingers we will be firing on all cylinders!!!

  4. Scott From Oz says:

Lee,personally,I believe we leak goals when all defending is left to the back 4.
I have no doubt we play best when our workrate is up,and movement off the ball(both in attack an defence) is high.
Too many times we turn the ball over, the player losing it throws his head to the sky,the opposition pushes forward in numbers and we are caught out.

  5. Scott From Oz says:

    Devil,we definitely have a great side,POTENTIALLY.
If management do the right thing,we have a great 6 or 8 years coming up.

  6. lee says:

Song’s mindset is massively relevant, as you stated the other day…if he thinks he’s messi we’ll leak goals!

  7. Scott From Oz says:

Lee,Song is brilliant when going forward,he’s just terrible at picking the right time to go forward.
I agree with our new assistant.
We need a man who has already got Wengers respect, and one who has a strong will.

  8. devilgunner says:

Lee, the problem we have with us leaking goals stems from the top. As has been pointed out we loose the ball, the forward throws his head up to the sky and does not track back. However I feel that whilst our movement going forward is great when we are in transition to recover the ball the majority of players are not taught how to cover back. That is why as Lee said the most important signing will be the number 2. AW is I believe the greatest coach in the EPL at teaching forward play, but a great suspect regarding defensive tactics and covering and channeling opposition players where they can be least effective and delaying tactics until the challenging defender is covered. There is no one positioning himself in the right way when we are attacking. A good coach works on the attack yes but should also work on the defence when we are attacking and on the way the defenders should position themselves to cover all eventualities.

Personally I think that while Song is great we need a defensive minded player alongside him. Arteta is a good footballer but not a great defensive one. We need a Gilberto type who can cover when Song decides to be Songinho (which he is good at by the way). We need a DM who is practically 100 a defensive minded player. And he must be a good organizer.

  9. Scott From Oz says:

    Give us names guys.
Who would you slot in under AW???
Devil,Rosicky has been our worst offender at looking to the sky…….until very recently,of course, and aren’t we enjoying the change?
Which midfielder would you like in??

  10. @frediville says:

Pardon me, but i don’t see how song is d problem if our defence..if anything dt lad has been ok alright dis season. where we have problems @ our defence is d fullbacks…imagine how demoralised nd uneventful we’ve been at d left back without A.Santos nd we’ve not also been alright at rightback even with d return of sagna(although we’re beter ther now). But imagine formers seasons when our only defensive worries were our centrebacks

  11. devilgunner says:

Personally I would like Keown to be number 2. But then again Bould can also be a great number 2.

Regarding DM there are a host of good players who can help in our midfield and make it stronger. While we already have Song we must also remember that we have Frimpong and Coquelin.

Other than those there are M’Vila, Fellaini, Vertonghen, Banega, Bender, Fernandho, Sissokkho, Reinartz, Gonalons (who I like), Chantome, Matuidi and Gago. They are all DMs who are tough and also can be creative. And they are all defensively minded and have a good engine.

  12. Micko says:

    Morning all,
Push the boat out and treat yourself to a new laptop rico, you know it makes sense.

Campbell still has a lot to do if he wants to earn his stripes at Arsenal, he’s got a couple of goals in the french league this season, get him back to London in the summer, start him in the CC next campaign and take it from there, I’m sure he’ll make a few appearances from the bench next season.

Kev, if it helps blame Nelson Vivas, it works for me everytime.

  13. devilgunner says:

    Micko. You ok mate.

I just heard that the spice girls are seeking a drummer for the remake of their song “Vivas Forever”. Interested??? 😆

I agree with you that Campbell still has a lot to do. However he has an eye for goal and has yet to bulk up. So as you said if he gets some game time under his belt next year he will be a good centreforward for us. But then again I would prefer Benik Afobe.

  14. Scott From Oz says:

I agree Campbell is very raw,but remember,he hasn’t had the schooling in a top quality youth system…..he’s from Costa Rica after all.
Plenty of improvement required, but there’s plenty to work with.

  15. Micko says:

Devil, my dad was a drummer in an Irish band, his skills were never passed down to me, i’m more of a tambourine man !
I’d always be interested in a meeting with Baby Spice if you could make it happen.
Just watched the Lansbury vid, someone was smiling down on him.

  16. DutchGooner10 says:

    Morning Gunner Fellas,

Other DM’s: Daniele De Rossi (27) , Alex Witsel (Benfica)

Alternatives to Ericksen/Gotze: Hamsik, Gourcuff, Javier Pastore (22 Palermo),

Pastore boasts world-class technical ability and skill. The Palermo playmaker has a delicate first touch and exemplary close control. With his reading of the game and skill, the Argentine can side-step challenges and glide past defenders with ease.

He can create opportunities for himself off the dribble, or open space for others with his awareness and intelligent movement.

Pastore’s passing and vision distinguish him as a classic playmaker. The Argentine international combines well with teammates, playing intricate one and two-touch football. He brings others into the play, linking up with attackers and picking out the telling through-ball. Pastore can keep possession in the final third, but he has the ingenuity and inventiveness to provide the killer pass as well.

With his combination of balance, elegance and creativity, Pastore has emerged as an elite attacking midfielder.

  17. devilgunner says:

But his raw power and strength, plus the fact that his movement is quite good makes him one for the future Scott. That is why there is already plenty to work with. The fact that he has not had the schooling in a top quality youth system may well work in his favour since he is not influenced by whatever there is in the system. And again it may hinder him also. However I feel that if he wants to succeed he will do so. Remember Bentley and JET. Both had top class coaching yet pessimistic attitude.

  18. devilgunner says:

Micko…..Pastore is at PSG mate. But I agree with everything you said about him.

I do like Eriksen. Witsel or Defour are also good uns. De Rossi is a bit of a no no. He gets injured often with niggling injuries. Do we want another Diaby??

  19. allezkev says:

Hey Mr Tambourine Man play a song for me, i’m not sleepy and there is no place i’m going to…

Great point Lee. AW’s new number 2 is pivitol.

  20. Micko says:

Dutch, Hunterelaar looks like he got his life back on track, for a while there it looked like he’d got lost in the wilderness, he was always being linked with us at one time or another.
By the way Holland in black don’t do it for me, they should always wear the orange.

  21. potter says:

Kev, if it helps blame Nelson Vivas, it works for me everytime.

Dont blame it on the sunshine / moonlight / good time “”Blame it on Eboue “”

  22. DutchGooner10 says:

Devil you’re right Pastore at PSG. Makes it hard, next to impossible, to lure him.

RvP had the same ailment as De Rossi, we might get a couple of end-to-end seasons out of him at a reasonable price and it would be a experienced international head which imo will be needed for RvP to sign an extension.

  23. devilgunner says:

His greatest asset is the balance he has and the awareness plus control of his body. He is a pure talent.

  24. DutchGooner10 says:

Micko it’s the new kit for the Euros. Don’t like it one bit either.

Huntelaar is back to his most lethal. Is up there with Mario in the Bundesliga topscorers list. Robbery looked the biz as well but made of glass.

  25. allezkev says:

    Coach, 10.19;
Maybe the players need to sort it out among themselves as the 97~98 team did.
    Afternoon Gooners btw.
Potter/Mick, Nelson Vivas, now there was a funny signing.
Was never really sure whether he was a good player [regular for the Argies] or a disaster?
    Dutch, where’s Stan?
Thought he’d be ‘on our case’ today… 🙂

  26. allezkev says:

For me Vertonghen ticks all the boxes.
Versatile, strong, top quality technically, good in the air.
All the things we require from a mobile def/mid.
A great asset at corners/free~kicks both defensively and offensively.
    Great range of passing.
The only downside would be the negative effect his signing would have on Coq & Frim.
I don’t want to lose either of them…

  27. allezkev says:

The Podolski rumours seem to be gathering momentum.
Not like Arsenal to allow their transfer business to be done so publicly, so early, before the deal is done.
    Wonder if he’s signed a pre~contract agreement?

  28. DutchGooner10 says:

AK think Stan is out to buy a cutter for his GPS bracelet. 😉

Micko The Hunt had a few seasons moving boxes, Ajax-Madrid-Milan-Schalke 04. His partnership with the sublime Raoul at Schalke has been nothing less than a masterclass to him. On the new kit it strikes me too much as training/warm-up gear.

Devil what’s your take on Hamsik?

  29. Merlin96 says:

Coquelin is a neat player and he had improved tremendously this season.

I see him as our DCM, with a great Engine like Flamini.
The only we let go is L Diarra; and 2008/09 was a curse as we lost both DCM in FLamini and Diarra.

    Jon Toral?
How is he shaping up as a DCM?

Perhaps that new German, 19 year old Thomas Eisfield suit the bill as a box-to-box attacking midfielder with defensive flair.

    Jon Toral?
    Henri Lansbury?
    Chuke Aneke?

Can anyone of this Trio grow in Vieira’s size 14 shoe?

    Diaby?
Perhaps next season, he will od a ‘Van Persie circa 2011/12″ and goes a complete season without major injury layoff?

Is Wenger willing to spend 6-mil quids on 23-year old Javi Martinez to fill ‘Veiira’s role”?

  30. lee says:

Sevilla’s Jose Antonio Reyes has revealed the “happy memories” he holds of Arsenal, insisting that he still follows the club’s results.
The 28-year-old was signed by Arsene Wenger in 2004 and went on to score 16 Premier League goals in his 3 years with the north London outfit.

Going on to have spells with, among others, Real Madrid and Sevilla, the midfielder hailed his time with the Gunners, admitting that, while it was a big step-up in his career, the experience was one to remember.

“I have nothing but positive and happy memories of that time,” Reyes told the official Arsenal Magazine.

“I follow their matches whenever I have time and I always hope the best for them.

“At the time I joined it was really exciting, one of those experiences where you pinch yourself to make sure it’s actually happening to you.

“It was a big step to take at that time but my family and girlfriend supported me a lot.

“I have to say that everybody was very, very helpful, and not just the players and the staff at the Club. I found the people in England to be very kind.”

The former Atletico Madrid man also reflected on his involvement in the ‘Invincibles’ season, where Arsenal finished the 2003-04 Premier League campaign unbeaten, admitting that at the time he didn’t acknowledge the achievement.

He added: “I did not realise it so much at the time but after the job was done I started to realise that I, we, were part of football history and that we had written ourselves into the history books.

“I think all of us who were part of it treasure that particular season. The intensity of the emotions was incredible.

  31. Merlin96 says:

    Kev,
Poldolski rumor maybe just another ‘RIbery” where everybody said it is almost 99% certainty he will sign for Arsenal…only for Bayern Munich to snap him up.

I see Giroud has more chance to join Arsenal than Poldolski….

Who will make way for Poldolski in the team?
    Walcott?
    Gervinho?

    If we sign Poldolski
, you think Walcott will isgn his new contract?

Imagine this 2012/13 team, assuming Van Persie is staying:

    ………………………………….Szczesny

    …Sagna………Mertesacker……….Koscielny………Santos

    …………………WIlshere……………..Vertonghen
    ………………………………..Rosicky

    ….Poldoski……………….Van Persie………………Ox-C

How many of these players are wiling to warm teh bench?
    1 – Walcott?
    2 – Gervinho?
    3 – Arteta?
    4 – Ramsey?
    5 – Vermaelen?

How many of these youngsters are patient enough to wait for their turns?
    1 – Coquelin?
    2 – Chuke Aneke?
3 – Henri Lansbury (most likely sold to West Ham?)
    4 – Frimpong?
    5 – Benik Afobe?
    6 – Miquel?
    7 – Kyle BArtley?
    8 – Joel Cmapbell?
    9 – Ryo Miyaichi?

I don’t know how true the rumor is as I read somewhere that Wenger “promised” those 2 SPanish lads that they wil be in the senior squad within 2 years.

Are Jon Toral and Bellerin ready for senior squad?

I believe Wenger will remain true to hsi youngsters and will promote players from within ratehr than buying established stars [again] in AUgust 2012.

New players will come in if Van Persie, Walcott and SOng refuse to sign the new contract extension in June…..and learning from the ‘Fabreas-NAsri” saga. Wenger will rather sell Walcott and SOng than to destabilise the team agin.

    Van Persie?
Priceless and there maybe some truth in Gazidis’ assertion that he will rather Van Persie walks away on a BOsman than sold him i summer 2012.

  32. Merlin96 says:

    Yup.
J.A.R. is a great loss..what apity with Henry’s death stare and Freddy slagging him off…with only a 17 year old putting a protective arm around his drooping shoulders.

Let’s hope he finds happiness again at Selvilla next season.

    You will never know

    Like Henry, J.A.R. returns
A more battle-hardened and a matured man rather than a crybbay that joined us with no support from senior players???

  33. Merlin96 says:

Let’s assume Wenger is successful to retain the present squad.

    The strikeforce is:
    1 – Van Persie
    2 – Theo Walcott
    3 – Gervinho
    4 – Benik Afobe
5 – Joel Campbell (assume he got a work permit after playing in 75% of internaitonals)
6 – Wellington SIva, assuming “special talent” work permit.

Perhaps Wenger picks up SOlomon Kalou on a Bosman.
ANd he buys French in Giroud with Park CY and CHamakh returning to France.

If he buys Poldolski and Gotze…….then we will have 4 no. “worldclass” striker to share the work load:
    1 – Van Persie
    2 – Poldolski
    3 – Walcott
    4 – Gervinho
    5 – SOlomon Kalou on a Bosman?

If he buys Gotze, then the playmaking department si further strengthen with a rejuvenated ROsicky, recovering WIlshere and Ramsey has more time to develop…
    1 – Gotze
    2 – Rosicky
    3 – WIlshere
    4 – Ramsey
    5 – OX-C
    6 – Ryo
    7 – Wellington SIlva???
    8 – Benayoun on a Bosman?

    If he buys Vertonghen;
    1 – Koscielny
    2 – Mertesacker
    3 – Vermaelen
    4 – Vertonghen
    5 – DJourou
    6 – Miquel
7 – Kyle Bartley will be sold in summer 2012?

    DCM?
    1 – Song
    2 – Arteta
    3 – Vertonghen
    4 – Coquelin
    5 – Frimpong
    6 – Jon Toral

That is how big a squad we have; and why Wenger needs 2 more years to see his Youth Project comes into maturity in 2013/14 season.

  34. Merlin96 says:

2005/06 season…And remember a 18 year old Cesc tackled Schole and also tackled Roy Keane from behind?
ROy Keane just grinned, shoke his ehad and did not retaliate.

J.A.R. was a crybaby then, a strange rin a strange land, unable to learn English..plus sadly, thick as a plank as well…..

I doubt J.A.R. is as ambitious as before and doubt very much he will ever leave sunny Selliva now.

If Real had not come a-tapping…..

Look like Wenger has a 100% losing record against Spanish puta:
    1 – J.A.R. to Real;
    2 – Fran Merida f**ked off on a Bosman;
    3 – Cesc f**ked off to Barca….

Even Bellerin said he will eventually return to BArca….

And if Jon Toral is developing at hte same rate as Cesc…wel…….who will come a-tapping?

WHen will Arsenal stops becoming a feeder club to Real MAdrid and Barca?

  35. Joaquim Moreira says:

Poldolsky is a completely different player comparing to TH.
    Vermaelen wasn’t very good yesterday
    Devil, who is Fernanhdo?
Reyes never been satisfied everywhere. All the seasons, change. will be sure, any reason for that.

  36. DutchGooner10 says:

Thanx Merlin, nice overview. Quite a lot of King Salomo’s judgements to be called next year.

Hope we find a spot for Lansbury though. Also Bothelo might return. And Hoyte recently came back from loan.

  37. allezkev says:

Merlin, i’ve seen some highlights of Bellerin playing for the youths.
He very much a full~back in the Daniel Alves mould.
    Reminded me of Silvinho.
Would probably make an equally good wide right m/f as much as a r/b.

  38. allezkev says:

We don’t know what RVP is going to do this summer Merlin.
Would make sense to have contingency plans if he decides to leave.
Chamakh, Bendtner, Park & Vela should all leave this summer.
I don’t think the addition of Podolski would be a problem.
It would allow Wenger the luxury of quality rotation instead of having 2nd rate reserves.
RVP could be protected more. Less need to leave him on for 90 mins in every game.
And with injuries always hanging over us, i’d rather have too many players than too few.
Yes, some may complain, but that’s just tough…

  39. allezkev says:

Lee, i agree with you, i also like Reyes.
Yes, he was a namby pamby, but he was dangerous on the field and never hid, even when that dirty shit Scholes was booting him up in the air.
What he lacked was support in his home life…

  40. allezkev says:

No mate, it’s dire again today.
Have to work late again i suppose.
    What’s on SS1…? 🙂

  41. DutchGooner10 says:

    AK

Wait a few months, and you will get fire-sales prices on smartphones. Really funny vid, the cabbie turned up at the BBC studios for a pick up and was mistaken for a live news guest they were awaiting. First few seconds are hilarious, his surprised glare

  42. DutchGooner10 says:

AK re some may complain, but that’s just tough.

I sometimes feel the Arsenal academy/reserves have become a bird’s nest with shrieking chicks that demand their daily worm.

  43. DutchGooner10 says:

Rico I would go and check on ‘the mender’ before your laptop is re-engineered into a coffee machine. 🙂

  44. rico says:

    😆 DG – Afternoon to you…

I was so angry this morning, phoned ‘India’ and after half an hour and the guy on the other end had altered a load of settings, he put the phone down on me as it was in his ‘too difficult’ box…!!

  45. allezkev says:

    Nevermind about Absent Stan.
    We’ve got Absent Rico…. 🙂
    Welcome back.
    Nevermind an iPhone.
    I’d like an iPad Lee.
    They look the dogs.
    I need it for work, honest… 🙂

    Boys and their toys eh Rico….? :-). :-). 🙂

  46. DutchGooner10 says:

Sounds like you need a nerd in your life who’s willing to take fresh eggs as a creditcard. 😉

Callcenters the same every were, here in Holland you phone helpdesks in ‘Ireland or India’.

  47. rico says:

Evening AK, i have given up on the iphone, can’t work a bloody computer so got no chance on a posh posh 😉

  48. DutchGooner10 says:

AK be careful with tablets, if you buy an android less than 2.3 you get a smartphone interface which has a lot of restrictions and limited app options.

If you buy a Apple IPad there are less operational software risks, better security, intuitive interaction and superb processing service. Only snag is your app market is limited to one provider and many populars require a small fee. (Android is open source, more app developers)

  49. allezkev says:

I’m waiting some wealthy guy in the city, to get an upgrade,
then i might cadge his old phone… 🙂

  50. rico says:

Bet i know who that is AK 😉

By the way, heard from Wath yesterday, he’s got a bad dose of man flu!! 🙁

  51. allezkev says:

Dutch, the only way i’ll get a tablet [other than aspirin] is if one gets left in the back of my cab…

  52. allezkev says:

Well forget the Lemsip and bring out the GG.

Agag will be on any second now that i’ve mentioned GG… 🙂

So what’s the SP on the laptop Rico?
A new one needed or is it GMail problems???

  53. Micko says:

Rico, I heard it was bird flu ? and there was me thinking wath was a double hard North London geezer.

  54. rico says:

It crashed last night AK, then the man in India totally fecked up my settings so had to take it down the menders – he has sorted it and i reset the BT Hub….

Furious, i will be email BT about a vey rude man!!

All is ok at the mo, no virus thankfully…..

  55. devilgunner says:

Hiya Lady and Friends. Seems you are all fine and dandy.

What’s that about JAR??? Is he coming back?? 🙂

    Good evening to all

  56. devilgunner says:

Yesterday Davy Jones left us. Today it was Lucio Dalla. An Italian giant who was a singer, composer and musician.

  57. rico says:

Evening devil. i was sad to hear about davy jones yesterday, grew up with the monkees…….

Have to be honest, i havent heard of Lucio Dalla 🙁 What happened….

  58. Micko says:

Devil, we’re all born to die, its just about making sure you enjoy yourself inbetween.

    Over and out.

  59. devilgunner says:

Death is but, the next great adventure Rico. We are all born to die as you said and its also just about making sure you enjoy yourself in between I agree with that. But after death???? There is a better life and whether one believes or not the second chapter starts when you close your eyes. And its a chapter more beautiful than the first.

Want a simple test Rico??? Close Woofa in a new room with someone else and after around half an hour tell someone to open the door. Woofa will fly out and lick you all over. Why?? He believed that whatever happens you are there on the opposite side of the door. And he waited while he enjoyed himself with the person inside the room. And that is life in a nutshell.

  60. rico says:

Micko said that devil, not me 😉

I shut my woofa behind a door, she’d break through just to get me 😉

But yes, being serious, i understand what you are saying…..

  61. devilgunner says:

I realized when I pressed the Post comment. But it does not matter I think. All of us believe in a better life after we close our eyes, no matter what our religion and beliefs are.

  62. rico says:

It matters little devil, if at all and I totally understand what you are saying…

Fishing scott, hope you throw them back…..

  63. Scott From Oz says:

Gotta catch one first Rico lol.
It’s more a boys weekend……fishing is an excuse!!
It’s been a busy start to the year so needed a chance to relax.

  64. DutchGooner10 says:

    You’re welcome Devil.

Scott enjoy. I used to watch Rex Hunt fishing trips, I envy you lucky Skippy. 😉

  65. Scott From Oz says:

Dutch,we have so many fishing options in Oz,its incredible.
This weekend,we’ll be spinning for trout in streams.
I live a few minutes from the coast, but the freshwater fishing is my favourite.

I can’t imagine two more contrasting types of fishing.

  67. Scott From Oz says:

There’s a few even better shows.
    Ifish is a great one.
Actually, one of my favourites is Extreme fishing with Robson Green.
    That guy is brilliant!!!

Ahhhh Fishing!!!!! I used to go fishing but now do not have much time for it.

The last time I went I was pissed off. I went with my wife before we had the little un, and I spent around 3 hours staring at the sea without catching anything. All the time my wife was reading a book. After 3 effing hours my arms were tired and my wife offered to hold the fishing rod while I rested a bit. I handed it over to her and barely 30 seconds had passed when the rod bent sharply. She was so inexperienced that she just yanked it out without even watching where she was throwing it that the fish ended up behind us and she nearly hit me with her elbow.

    She caught a mullet.

Talk about beginner’s luck. I was so pissed off that I never went to fish again. Now the little prince is pestering me to go fishing. We will see about that.

Good to see you enjoy fishing Scott.

What I liked about RH was the respectful catch and release and the environmental topics.

Have to YouTube your names. Discovery stopped airing good fishing adventures, now there’s Hill Billy Handfishing (pulling catfish from muddy pools)

  70. Scott From Oz says:

I am lucky enough to live close to the coast, twenty minutes from the biggest saltwater lake in Oz,1 1/2 hours from a great bass fishing dam,yet can drive two and a half hours and chase trout.
I try and get out every other weekend, but we haven’t had a summer, its rained nearly every day.
I’ve also been working 6 days a week, train a few greyhounds and coach the little fellas team,so time is the killer.
I love fishing, and it truly is my relaxation time.
Devil EVERY fisherman has a story like that lol.

  71. DutchGooner10 says:

    Happy munching Rico.

Offski for tonight. Bye fine folks. Have a pleasurable chill down.

  72. devilgunner says:

    Bye Micko. Goodnight mate.

Earlier I asked a question about Reyes. Is there any news mates???

  73. Andy Powers says:

DG – re: JAR not coming back, just said that he had fond memories of palying for the team and that he still looked at how they were doing. I think that someone posted the article in its entirety above and there’s also something on the clubs website to that effect as well.

  74. Joaquim Moreira says:

    International press:
Milan and Inter are the latest candidates to the hiring of striker Lukas Podolski of Cologne.
According to the German Press, the two giants Milan have joined Arsenal and Schalke in the German international race to 26 years, which is linked to Cologne until 2013.
According to news portal Express, badges interested in Podolski will have to pay 15 million euros to secure the cooperation of player, who is said to have already reached an agreement with Arsenal

Just hoping I can get reception tomorrow night to keep updated at Anfield.

  77. Merlin96 says:

    Kev,

Yes, we can accommodate Poldolski, Gotze and Vertonghen in the present squad and will make this team a quantum leap in quality for 2012/13 season..a squad with depth and breadth in terms of quality and experience.
Is it Wenger (or Mourinho or Ferguson or Benitez?)who said:

    1) You need 4 quality striekrs to play an average of 55 to 60 league and cup games per season, excluding internaitonals, to aviod burning out in March/April where you need to players the most with games coming in thick and fast, averaging one game every 3/4 days?

    2) The uniqueness of Premiership is that X’mas Weekend and Easter Weekend where you need to play 3 games per week.

    3) Then our 4 no. quality strikers/forwards are:
    – Van Persie
    – Poldolski (or Giroud?)
    – Walcott
    – Gervinho

    Striker-in-training:
    – Benik Afobe
    – Joel Campbell
    – Ryo Miyachi
    – Wellington Silva

    4) Our 4 no. quality CB:
    – Koscielny
    – Mertesacker
    – Vermaelen
    – Vertonghen

    CB-in-training:
    – Miquel
    – Angha
    – Daniel Boateng

    5) Our Attacking Midfielder:
    – Rosicky
    – Gotze
    – Wilshere
    – Ramsey

    ACM-in-training
    – Chuke Aneke
    – Galindo
    – Thomas Eisfield
    – Ozakhup
    – Gnarby

    6) Our DCM
    – Vertonghen
    – Song
    – Arteta
    – Coquelin
    – Frimpong (I don’t rate him, overhype, just a more muscular Muamba)
    – Jon Toral

Do you see Wenger buying 3 or 4 no. 24 to 27 year-old quality players in August 2012?
I can’t as he will stick to his Youth Policy and as usual, buy from his one and only hunting ground – France with his partner-in-crime grimandi and hsi french Clique scouring France and Africa for Arsenal players.

    Goodnight, fella and fellette…

  78. stevepalmer1 says:

Morning Scotty boy, if you should log in, good luck on your fishing trip I know the feeling i used to spend every weekend on the banks and never go home till the Sunday evening, i also liked the freshwater but most of my fishing was on lakes that held Carp and Catfish. Have a good trip and tight lines mate.
