Breaking News: Henry & Beckham led consortium agree takeover of Arsenal FC

The stunning news out of Denver in the early hours of this morning is that Stan Kroenke has through his company KSE agreed to sell his shares in Arsenal Football Club to a consortium led by Thierry Henry and David Beckham.

This amazing deal may seem somewhat of a surprising partnership between Henry and Beckham but the two have become very close friends over the last few years and it seems the friendship has blossomed enough for this astonishing business deal to of been put together. Arsenal fans from around the globe will be excited and chuffed that the ex Arsenal legend will have a controlling interest in the club that he loves and also it seems Beckham has quite a soft spot for the club despite his previous Man Utd connections.

The financial side of the deal is a little sketchy but sources close to KSE disclosed that Kroenke has agreed to sell his majority share in Arsenal Football Club to the consortium for approximately £950 million. It is believed that Thierry Henry along with David Beckham will be involved at boardroom level but the consortium will orchestrate the business side of things with appointments to the board from people within the game with the name of David Dein being mentioned.

Exciting days ahead and we await more details on this deal and where this leaves our other shareholder Alisher Usmanov and will the consortium now bring him on board so to speak.

More on this story is expected throughout the day…….

Morning Ts, Xr’s and all , glad you finally got back on here Xr’s. Troubles over now?

    Ts, I blame Wath for today’s post… 😉

  2. Adam says:

Lee. It’s true, but we need your financial clout onboard for Diaby’s new contract. 🙂
There are going to be some changes to the match day experience too.

  3. Wavy says:

What can one say to such astonishing news and, on All Fools Day too! We must just be careful what we wish for. If he were to sell up and bugger off back to the U.S. we could easily end up with another Londoner! Mike Ashley for example??? Or some other wealthy asset thieving bandit. Sometimes the devil you know is better than the unknown you don’t. At least old baldy syrup doesn’t interefere with the running of the club he spent so much of his wife’ shard earned cash on!
Rico, for a nano second I nearly believed the blog, cos I’m gullible! But a good jape for all that!

  4. rico says:

    Same here Lee..

Thanks Wavy, but Wath has to take the credit today… 😉

I think Kroenke is here to stay for a long time…..

  5. Adam says:

    I realise that Wath. 🙂

Walcott for now Brudder, unless he signs quickly. I understand that Wenger is interested in Sterling but also likes Pedro from Barca. The Sterling thing has been on the table for months.

  6. Wath says:

The Sterling thing goes back to wanting him originally from QPR Adam, Wenger has always liked him..!

I’d sell them both if the money was right BUT only if they were properly replaced..! Same old same old…. It’s not about who we sell it’s about who is brought in…!

  7. Wath says:

Ts, please use all your available resources… ( nudge nudge wink wink ) and flush out who was impersonating me this morning at that ungodly hour…! Thanx…! 😉

  8. Adam says:

Very quick Rico and can go past a player which is more than Theo is doing right now. He’s been around a while and never really broken into the Barca team full time, but then with Messi in there and now Neymar it’s become difficult. I remember watching him when we played Barca at the Emirates. He’s a good footballer alright. Will he fit? I dunno. He likes to work the ball into the areas at her than just cross it.

  9. rico says:

I think similar to you Wath. If we get to mid August and we’ve made better signings then sell both to the highest bidder.

  10. rico says:

I know Adam, he’s one player abroad I actually have seen play… 😉

    LG I thought Wath..

Morning Kev, I’m amazed no-one else has reported the story, it’s all over the Denver post… 😉

  11. Wath says:

No that’s that Biscuits bloke you’re thinking of Kev……… He’s a diving cheating slime bag…! As Lee would say a trght fucktard..!

  12. rico says:

They need to up their English players Kev….. I wouldn’t sell to them though, never..

    He’s smaller than Arshavin Adam… 😉

  13. Bob John says:

    Hi all
    Happy All Spuds Day!
If there was a choice I would chose Pedro over Sterling all day long. Pedro has been schooled in the Barca way which fits in nicely with us where as Sterling plays with his head down and misses what’s around him and ends up being greedy. Ross Barkley is another who does this.

  14. Joe says:

    Yep 🙂
Seems we will be using a left sided football or a football that will help left footed footballers the stands at the stadium are going new names.
It’s going to be a long day. 😉

  15. Adam says:

Not many managers these days prepared to give young players a chance. Brenda, Poison Dwarf and Pellegrinni all like to spend.

  16. rico says:

Southampton midfielder Le Tissier defended Walcott’s talent and explained why the 26-year-old could be best-served leaving the north London club.

“He could be a very useful centre-forward in a team that plays on the counter-attack.

“Arsenal tend to dominate football matches, especially at home, and there isn’t always a lot of space in behind the back four.

“You saw last night, Italy didn’t allow too much space in behind and dropped fairly deep, and there was no room for Theo to manoeuvre.

“I do think he could be a centre-forward if he was in a different team.

“I don’t think Roy [Hodgson] did him too many favours last night by throwing him against the Italians as a centre-forward, especially when he has spent nearly a year out injured.”

  17. Rick says:

    Afternoon Rico and the House.
Nice try Wath but you did not fool me.
April fools day was yesterday, well it must have been 4 Spuds in the England team.

  18. Rick says:

Yesterday England U16 beat Mexico 4-1 with young gunners Tolayi Bola playing the full 90 mins and Reiss Nelson 78Mins. Both are good games.
    Next game Turkey tomorrow.

Next Tuesday the U21s play Stoke the following night the U15s playMK Dons
    both games at the Emms

  19. allezkev says:

Just popped into the Food Bank to get me dinner…

Rick, at last, some Youth games on our priceless, pampered and underused turf…

  20. allezkev says:

Rick, I just had a look, it seems you can only purchase tickets on line….

Reading U21’s on April 13th is at the Grove as well…

Why don’t thise tightwads just open the gates and let a load of kids in for free.
Let us alm in for free….

    Pathetic…

    But typical Arsenal…

  21. allezkev says:

    Hi Rico….

Another unimaginative decision by our hopeless box office it seems….

A golden opportunity to get a load of local kids into the ground. Possible season ticket holders of the future, but those dullards can’t see it, as per usual….

  22. rico says:

You’d have thought with all the guff from Dyke, the club would do just that Kev. Open the gates, let families in for a tiny fee, kids for nothing and get the support for our young guns…

  23. allezkev says:

Looks like it’s gonna be another hot and sunny Easter holiday……

I think I’ll put my shorts on today…

  24. tsgh says:

Has the club increased the u-21 gate entry fees?

Last season against CSKA u-21 it was £4 for adults and free for kids who were accompanied by an adult…

It was a great atmosphere albeit it wasn’t full as the time for k.o was a bit inconvenient.

Miss te old Meadow park days; thinking about it, it was still £3 on the gate

Morning Rico, Kev and all btw
