So, our Italian Stallion want’s to one day return to Italy and play for AC Milan!
Former under-21 international goalkeeper Vito Mannone has been talking to Corriere della Sera:
I am happy at Arsenal and want to be Number 1 here, then I’d love to return to Italy and play in Serie A, hopefully with my beloved Milan. I have always supported the Rossoneri. And finally, the Nazionale, which I already experienced at youth level, but the senior Italy squad is very different.
I had some tough time, as in 2009 I played for 10 games after [Manuel] Almunia’s injury, but the manager did not think I was ready. I was absolutely furious and wanted to leave. Now I understand and have achieved maturity by working hard.
Well well, there is a man with big ambitions. Same old though isn’t it, stay at a club where players get pampered, treated like royalty and paid handsomely. A club which gives younger players a chance, as Mannone found out in 2009 and now he has had a few games between the posts returning to AC Milan has become his long-term target.
Why doesn’t he want to be our number one goal keeper and stay as that until he’s finished?
Bearing what he has said in mind, should he be offered a new contract before the summer or just let him go now and don’t waste our time on a guy who really doesn’t see his future with us, well, not once he’s good enough to be AC Milan’s goalkeeper.
Could be a long long wait!
Talking of long waits, it seems ours, to remain patient with the board/manager at Arsenal, is drawing to an end!
Well, according to Ivan Gazidis.
UEFA have now introduced Financial Fair Play guidelines for clubs to live within their means and from next season they want clubs to balance their books in order to bring their annual deficits down by 2018.
As we all know, FFP will probably make little difference to us as we have been running within our means for a few years now. Having posted a healthy pre-tax profit, Gazidis is bragging about how we are the club to follow.
He said:
Arsenal were operating this way a long time before football looked at it and decided it would be a good path for football to move into.
I bet he loved saying that!
During those times of selling our best players to help fund our move to The Emirates not overspending, Arsene Wenger has been at the brunt of many fans criticism. He has sold off our best players and replaced them with what many believe to have been second-rate or very average players and because of it, our best achievement for a seven years now has been top four.
Gazidis believes Wenger’s way to have been brave rather than just being tight with the clubs money:
I don’t think Arsene is conservative, I think he is extraordinarily brave. I think he does things others don’t do and sees things others don’t see.
Arsene is not fixed on the price of a player in assessing a player’s value, he will look with equal weight at a young player who is coming through the Arsenal academy and a player that might be available with a very hefty price tag from overseas.
He is not afraid to spend money when he believes in a player and sees a player he thinks can kick us forward but he is not obsessed with the security that a big transfer fee might give him.
I think the time when we have to continue to ask them (Arsenal supporters) for patience is coming to an end and I think we will be able to deliver the kind of success they want on a consistent basis going forward as one of the leading clubs in Europe.
Gazidis went onto say that he understood the criticism that has come the club’s way over the last few years because of the lack of silverware.
But he’s convinced the wait for a trophy will soon be over!
Hope he means for us…. 😉
Finally, reports came out yesterday that Koscielny had picked up a nasty injury in training with France. Not sure how much truth is in this or how bad any supposed injury is, have to wait and see throughout the day.
That’s it for another day, have a good one all.
Morning Rico and all. It never ceases to amaze me how readily footballers are to share their thoughts with us. It doesn’t surprise me that Mannone would like to play for his “beloved” Milan but, at the beginning of his Arsenal first team career, do we really need to hear this? If he is looking for Arsenal fan’s support I would think that this is an ill-conceived way of getting it.
We would all like to believe that our players love the club and that their loyalty will remain steadfast. Witness the recent Jenks love-in. But, in reality, they are all just passing through though some will stay longer than others. That which endures is the club.
As for the thoughts of Chairman Ivan? Well, he would say that wouldn’t he? Always best to make such pronouncements after a win though.
Morning Adam and all…
I think Mr Mannone may just have talked himself out of a new contract, can’t see AW getting bitten twice by a player who wants to go home…
Morning.
I think Wenger should be looking at another keeper and letting Mannine go at the earliest opportunity. I was quite getting to like him until I read that yesterday. Fabregas mark 2.
I suppose Milan is in his DNA? Muppet. I’d rather have someone who thinks only about being Arsenal’s number 1.
I have serious doubts as to UEFA enforcing financial fair play to the point we gain any advantage. We will, however, be much stronger when the current commercial deal expires in 2014 no matter what other clubs are allowed to get away with.
Rico. I believe you and I are agreed on the goalkeeping situation. I don’t believe there are that many great ‘keepers around these days.
I think most of the ‘home grown’ players like Jenks will remain a lot more loyal to us, most of them are Arsenal fans like us so what better is there than to play for the club you support.
There will of course be the occasional Cashley..
That is why I always prefer us to sign the more mature overseas players, they see us as their final big club, rather than the first. But of course, for AW, he doesn’t make a profit on those…
Bg, Mannone and Fabianski and go get a really good older keeper. Go get the German keeper, not that i know who he is, but i bet he’s pretty good 😉
I’ve heard that the Squilster has his eye on the no1 jersey! Problem solved!!!
Morning all…
My understanding re FFP is that Platini has opened a can of worms and the Genie might be out of the bottle. It is very much in the interests of the true major clubs in Europe that some sort of financial limitations are applied and their collective power might force it through. Although, if you listen Patrick “chip on shoulder” Vieira yesterday and his declaration that Man City could spend £45 million on Falcao and not breach rules they are already breaching, then you see how deep the arrogance and sense of entitlement run. A few million dropped in Swiss bank accounts might be the deciding factor.
Neuer…that’s him I think Rico.
Lee. I have always believed that Squilli can play anywhere. Great shout. 🙂
I think so there Adam, and you could be right about the lack of keepers available, even Barcelona’s isn’t great is he?
But, what about in the Championship, there has to be someone somewhere, are we as a club looking in the right places, are we even looking at all.
I think Vorm is a quality keeper. How hard would it be to prise him from Swansea?
Agreed Rico. Man Utd spent a fortune on De Gea and he flaps around at anything in the air. Neuer is great but would be too expensive. Only the usual suspects could buy/bribe him.
BG. I like Vorm too.
Mannone is rude, he should be shipped out in Jan because he is not good enough. No milan club is bigger than afc…Good morning HH
Morning peeps.
Agree with Adams first post, it hardly the best way to endear him to the arsenal fans is it?! Regardless of where he sees himself in the future, I don’t rate home anyway. Sitting behind the goal last week and watching his distribution close up it was awful, I think he kicked it to the same olympiacos defender 3 or 4 times and his commanding of his area is poor. We can do better, looking forward to szczesny’s return.
What will gazidis do if FFP doesn’t do as he had hoped, will he harp on about what should have been.
Morning Lee, thanks re the gk name, he is meant to be pretty good isn’t he..
We need a Peter Schmeichel kind of guy, big, strong and no nonsense….
Krul at Newcastle too, he’s pretty good…
Even a team like Barcelona, widely acknowledged as the best team in th world/ever, played against Real Madrid last Sunday without a real defence. The moron Piqué was out with an injured quiff, Puyol was injured and they didn’t trust the mighty Song, who they bought as a CH apparently. They played Mascherano and a LB in central defence and drew a game they should have won. And you are right Rico, their goalie is average.
Maybe the number two shirt would suit Squilli more that number one….
Why don’t we go and buy joe hart…..
But Rico. That would be like bolting the stable door after…..etc…etc
Hi Bg, Lewis and gdna…
Good morning Rico and All.
ManU tried for Neuer some seasons ago but failed. If Vito thinks he is world class let him go.
What about Brad Friedel?. He won’t be 60 for another 3 years. 🙂
Rico, I think the Toon would put a ridiculous price on Krul. They have aspirations and wouldn’t let him go cheap. Vorm wouldn’t be cheap either but maybe not as silly as I think Krul would be.
I knew if i dangled the carrot Adam……
Good morning all,
A fine post as usual Rico.
A dull morning here in Surrey even made worse by this unnecessary international break. thankfully Kozzer is not injured as first expected.
On Mannone… well, well what can I say? shooting yourself in the foot comes to mind. When even Atalanta could not be bothered offering him a contract but finds himself at Arsenals thanks again to the generousity of Le Prof, he comes out with that crap.
Personally, lets give James Shea a chance he can’t be worse than some of the goalies we have had recently. And I suspect he is one of us too.He has been excellent for the u-21 thus far too.
You dangled a whole nose-bag Rico.
Now ,we spent yesterday spruiking the wonder that is Carl Jenkinson, and saying how great it is that he always wanted to play for Arsenal, even when he was playing elsewhere….now the shoe is on he other foot, and everyone wants to turn on Vito?L
If that isn’t hypocricy,i don’t know what is guys!!
Keeping in mind also the fact that Wenger was more than happy to sell him a few months back, and his loyalty and ambition is being questioned??L
Please!!!
whats good rico? what a fresh little fella manonne is…
Hi Ng..
Bg, much depends on how their season goes, if they hit a wall and slump down the league, players price will drop. I just use him as an example really of good keepers who are out there and the right price will not doubt get them.
Vorm would do though 😉
Seriously though, the Championship could be the place to go looking, its a harder, maybe busier league to be a keeper in. There has to be a really good keeper in that league or even Div 1..
Morning Tsgh, thanks..
Grey and miserable in Berkshire too, just waiting for the heavens to open….
Good news on Kos, is he returning to London or staying with the French camp?
And behind Shea is Martinez – are either any better or worse than Mannone, I don’t know..
when players are at a club like afc they should feel privileged and play for the badge and stop running their mouth, as AW shows in past no player is bigger than the club, vito career with afc is done, even SC19 says afc is the best club he ever played for, classy little guy…
😆 Adam.
Hi Scott – there is a huge difference between the two, Jenks is now playing for us. Mannone is voicing what he wants to do in the future and that doesn’t involve staying with us.
Had he stopped at ‘I want to be Arsenal number 1’ – we wouldn’t be talking about him today, and if he has always wanted and still wants to play for AC Milan, well wait until he is good enough and is wearing their shirt before spouting his mouth off…
I don’t think it hypocrisy to bag Vito when he’s the one running his mouth about moving to another club down the line. We need club faithful.
gdna – i don’t think any of us truly expect loyalty from players any more, not all the time there are clubs like Citeh who will offer such vast sums of money to prize the better ones away but all i wish they would do is keep their own future ideas to themselves.
All Mannone has done is given the fans fuel to knock him when he makes mistakes which i strongly suspect he will.
I bet AW is furious….
We been burned so many times with these opportunist-footballers using Arsenal as a stepping stone. Why can’t they just shot up?
Hi Scott,
I understand your comments at 10;16 but it depends on what level we think Arsenal is at in relation to other European teams?
If we consider arsenal a big club then I expect players playing for us especially those who have been given the best second chance a football can have by join arsenal to be extremely proud to play for us.
In my opinion over the last 16 years most if not all professional player over the age of 20 should be aware of our status in European football.
If on the other hand we consider Arsenal to be a grade or more below the Milans who last weekend could not even fill the 80k capacity San Siro Stadium on a derby day against their bitter rivals Inter then I shall take offense to any player who should count himself extremely lucky to be playing for us saying he wants to use us a stepping stone. If you consider AC Milan sitting 11 place and 12 points behind Juve after 7 games.
Milan is like Liverpool now all history, no present and definitely no bright future.
Do you guys think Jenks never spoke about playing for Arsenal in the past??
Of course he did,it’s just that nobody would’ve taken notice of him.
Sorry, but it is the same thing.
Just watched a little article on Wilshire.
They showed a bit of footage from his game the other day,and i reckon he looked pretty sharp.
So far,so good…slowly,slowly though.
Guys,i am not condoning that Mannone said at all.
In fact, the opposite……i wish these guys would all shut the hell up.
All i am saying is fans are fickle, and if everyone is honest, reading any fans forum proves this on a daily basis.
I’m not sure we can compare the two Scott.
Jenks was at Charlton, a club who didn’t think he was good enough and loaned him out to two other clubs who obviously thought he was rubbish too, as they didn’t play him much.
We signed him at 19 years old, a kid in footballing terms.
Mannone has just been given his chance in the first eleven, he’s 24 years old and already he is talking about leaving…
I don’t think it is hypocrisy Scott, one of those players (Jenks) has proved how good he is and is arsenal through and through, the other has come in, looked shaky at best and then said he one day wants to leave for AC Milan. He has set himself up for criticism. You said yourself that winger doesn’t rate him so why is it a shock when some of us don’t either. I rate Theo, Some people don’t, that doesn’t make them hypocrites.
Would we prefer he said he wanted one day to play for Utd,a club with a higher profile than us presently…no way.
He wants one day to go back and play for the club he followed as a kid, thats all.
Jenks dreamed of playing for Arsenal, even when being paid by Charlton to play for them.
I have said enough on that…
Mannone is a wanker and should replaced by a good keeper!
Lewis, you will have to explain something here…..where the hell did i suggest it was a shock people don’t rate him,and what has that got to do with anything i said????
Also, what has whether or not people rate Theo got to do with this debate???
You have baffled me completely, not that it’s hard to do!!
I thought i was done….didn’t last long lol.
Lee, I don’t normally write such things but, lol.
Fair call Lee….makes you wonder why everyone is even worried about his comments though, doesn’t it?
Where is Schwarzer??
I really beg to differ Scott. Arsenal is a big club so as Milan. Jenk was playing for a lower league and wants to move up,its call dream and ambition. What can Milan offer Vito that Arsenal cannot?
I rate Theo too Lewis…. but I think you may know that by now 😉
Scott – I’d rather he just said he was enjoying the playing time, he wants to keep on improving and challenge Ches for the number one spot. Anything else, keep to himself…
Lee, stop sitting on the fence ….
What is going on with Fabianski, is he still unfit?
Who is the better, him or Mannone?
News reaches us that Alan Pardew has asked his team members to ignore all the bruhaha over Wonga.com taking over the sponsorship of the club…
He has asked them to focus on the football and to just, get out on the pitch and give 4786% .
Nashua,the answer is simple….fulfilling a childhood dream!!
Rico, cut all players tongue out,and return them when they retire 🙂
Fabiansi is better than Mannone imo,Rico.
He just needs to convince himself how good he is.
Ha ha Lee…
Just once they have left us would do Scott. Once they have gone, I don’t really care what they say, if they feel the need to talk about us then they can’t be truly happy in their own life.
Good call Rico.
Bent and Defoe support arsenal but do not run their mouth off telling their current fans they are waiting for a call from Arsenal to move us…
His agent is clueless if you want your client to receive an offer for current extension you don’t on Monday say Napoli are going to make an offer and then the next day state he wants to move to his boyhood club in future.
imo, they both have the same weakness and that’s crosses, so do we need both?
No imho…
And we could say the same about Theo Tsgh, he and his dad have always been liverpool supporters, but we don’t hear him bleating on about joining them.
In fact he could have joined them when he chose us, but he put football first….
True there Rico. he chose us over both manure and ‘liverpoo’ because he was guaranteed first team opportunity and the extra dosh of course. 😉
Mannone being given the opportunity of a lifetime: he should focus and try to prove to his employer that he deserves it. Everyone has dream; some we keep close to our hearts.
Trust you to add that on the end Tsgh 😉
Exactly Ng…
What else is in the news….
Daily telegraph reckon that AW’s scouts are on the look out for a striker to sign in January…..
That must spell the end of Chamakh then….
I seriously do not understand why both he and AA didn’t find themselves a club in the summer, especially AA who is so spring chicken….
Talking of us in the transfer market, got to pop out and do some shopping at Lidil 🙂
Back in a bit….
Good goalies are hard to find now. Maarten Stekelenburg is rubbish, Reina 3 choice spanish keeper well …
Mark schwarz can still do a decent backup job for us. I will go for Samir Handanovic but will he accept being a no.2 or is he vastly better than Szec?
Harib Al-Habsi is not bad but has mistakes in him.
just seeing if i have managed to work out how to post on my phone
Bent and Defoe know they’re not good eough to play at Arsenal.
Vito knows he will not be at Arsenal much longer.
I really don’t understand why everyone is so upset.
6 weeks ago, every single person on this forum would have swapped him for a decent dinner!!!!
Get over it…he will be gone soon.
The more top flight games he gets, the better the price he commands.
Afternoon Gooners.
Afternoon Rico, interesting post M’Lady.
Mannone of the San Siro?
Hmm, I just shrug my shoulders!
Is Mannone replaceable?
Of course he is.
All that concerns me, is that he puts in good performances and hopefully helps us to win something.
If he does that and we win some silverwear, then I shall say grazzi Vito, off you go to Milano, and no hard feelings.
Once again AK…the voice of reason…….
All footballers should be given a card with the following words on it “It is better to remain silent and appear a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt”
Good morning Rico and all you other Happy Housers.
It’s has been a fine moring here in East Anglia, and a couple of hours blackbery picking has blown away the cobwebs, cloudy now and rain forecast.
According to the Telegraph we are definitely in the market for another striker, Wenger sees Giroud as the long term replacement for the Little Dutch Boy but wants another experienced goal scorer.
Sry Scott, seems I got the wrong end of the stick with what u were saying. I’m good at that. Exam tomorrow and it would seem I still have the problem of not reading the subject matter properly!
All good mate.
Hi All,
re:FFP. What’s to stop the Man City owners from buying millions of items from the ‘club shop’ and dishing them out for free to kids in China, Africa, India, etc? Surely this would then qualify as income from merchandising!
Hi guys. I’m totally with Scott on this one. I do not think Vito is comparing the status of both clubs and i see no problem with him wanting to play for his boyhood club. Maybe saying it in the media isn’t a good idea, but we should not berate him for having those feelings. It seems now everyone is itching to throw him off the bus. It feels great when players from other teams speak highly of Arsenal, so i will not kill our player for doing the same. I’m sure he knows how well u have to play to catch the attention of other clubs, so at least we know he is striving to impress. That’s a good thing.
Bob John,
I suspect that there are going to be myriad ways of circumventing FFP. In a couple of years Platini will have moved on to FiFa and the whole thing will be kicked into the long grass.
Good post and raises relevant questions. I still think mannone will potentially be one of those keepers that looks ok for a while then continues to cost us with avoidable errors, but I may be wrong. He still looks flappy to me when deciding when to come for a ball in a crowded box. As he is not the finished article, and has just got his chance his comments were a bit idiotic. For me a keeper more than any other player at a club can stay at a big club for a longer time and give continuity to that area. Mannone has basically just said that we will only be priveleged enough to have him for a while before he moves on and follows his heart, and if that is the case this could then upset that continuity. If we cannot count on him remaining with us in the future I see no point in promoting him to our permanent number one and nurturing him, and so would look at any potential offers from Italy.
It is interesting that the responses to this post have mainly focussed on what to do with Mannone and who else we should bring in. There is very little mention of Szcezny who aside from recent injury has been our number 1 for a while. I would agree with any that point out a couple of his errors in the last few months and that he is not a regular world class keeper yet. I will however defer to his age which we all forget is still very young for a number 1 keeper at a big club. I still personally believe he will iron out those errors and for me in the many games when he doesn’t make a silly mistake he looks like a commanding world class keeper.
The bigger question for me then, (rather than what to do with Mannone), is that do we believe that Szcezny is a world class number 1 in the making or do we believe he is one of those keepers that will always have a mistake in him and never quite ascend to the world class level. The answer to that question is what should decide our next move. If he is world class in the making and will iron out those faults then there is no point in bringing in another quality young keeper like Vorm. We already have some quality young emerging keepers in Shea and Martinez and what would be better then is that older keeper, like say Schwarzer, who can back up / keep Szcezny on his toes but not stand in his way as a long term replacement. If we went for Vorm it should be on the undersatanding that he is to become our new number 1 and then for me we would be waving bye bye to Szcesny.
Ah, JW.
I’m off up to visit my cousin for a couple of days up your way, just outside Stowmarket.
What’s the weather gonna be like Mon’ & Tues’…?
Ivan Gazides…
Now there’s a man who knows his stuff…
Season ticket re-newals plummit this summer.
And so he comes out with the usual old guff about the club being ready to repay the fans…
Yeah right???
Well if the club does, then it’ll be no thanks to Kroenke or anyone else on the Board…
GoonerB,i may be wrong here, but i think everyone,or most, takes for granted that Szczesny is our long term keeper, but we would like a more reliable, more experienced back up keeper….someone Szczesny can learn is trade from.
That is my take, and not just on reading todays post,as this discussion has been raised a few times before.
Chezzer being out of the spotlight, could actually do him a favour.
All young players experience dips in form and he had a mega-dip in the Euros.
I think he’s still around 22, quite young for a keeper.
Therefore, he’ll have had a bit of time to re-evaluate his game, and will hopefully come back more focused, so as to push onto the next level, as Joe Hart has the last two years.
AK,
I wouldn’t stick my neck out but, statistically speaking, this is the driest part of the U.K. Which doesn’t mean we don’t get p****d upon from time to time.
Bring your passport and we accept all major currencies, except the Euro. 🙂
Hope you enjoy your stay.
Oh,and there is no way a young keeper like Vorm would come to us,for reasons you point out.
Ha ha JW.
I used to have a season ticket on the Broads mate.
But I will get my visa from the East Anglian consul just in case.
I think the trouble with all our ‘keepers is the standard of coaching available to them. Who is our goal-keeping coach, anybody know?
Distribution is a weakness in both Szczesny and Mannone, I think it was in the last game I saw that Mannone put three fly-kicks straight into touch around the halfway line. At other times he was lumping the ball up-field towards the smallest guy on the pitch, Santi Cazorla Surely somebody should be explaining the concept of passing the ball to your own players whenever possible.
Scott, tbh the club is already full of young goalkeepers.
All of them good, just that they’re inexperienced.
Shea has been playing well.
Martinez looks quality.
Charles-Cook is a good ‘un.
Vickers is supposed to be mustard.
They all share one thing.
A lack of experience.
Wenger should have got Petr Cech when he had the chance.
Wise in retrospect I know, but a big miss.
Scott/JW, I remember going to QPR in 89-90, & watching David Seaman put in a masterclass against Arsenal.
From then on, I was sold on him and was made up that summer when George Graham paid a British record fee to get him.
And wasn’t he value for money!
The only goalkeeper around, who I see in Seaman’s class, in the UK, is Joe Hart. And you won’t get him.
Afternoon guys….
Hart maybe good Ak, but not good enough to stop Arteta and Kos 😉
Afternoon all,
His comments aside, Mannone ain’t good enough anyway, he’s just a stop gap at the moment and not doing a bad job at that.
I wouldn’t stand in his way if Milan came calling in the summer, it’s more likely to be Middlesborough or Millwall though in my opinion, perhaps his agent is behind on his mortgage repayments and is trying to drum up a bit of business, sounds about right to me.
Afternoon Micko, think you have hit the nail on the head there, he just isn’t good enough, those behind him look more promising….
Back shortly – quick run with the Fido…
Kev, I also remember Richard Wright having a few master-classes against us as well !!! we had a good bit of banter with him in the clockend when Ipswich came to Highbury, the rumours were rife he was signing for us.
It later came out that the board over-ruled Wenger and insisted on the signing, don’t know if there was any truth in it, suggestions were they were looking for more of an English spine, think Jeffers was also signed around the same time as well, who knows.
Robert Green does wonderfully well against us why dont we go for him. haha 😀
Hi Mick.
Maybe Dein pushed those deals through?
Shame about Wright (and Jeffers), I was pleased with their signings at the time. But it just didn’t work out.
Tsgh, I was all for Buffon a while back but wasn’t he named as one of the main culprits in the match fixing in Italy last year.
Kev, a great signing at the time, touted as Englands next number one, don’t think he could handle the pressure at Arsenal, signed for Citeh this summer, won’t get a game.
Good afternoon
Which is why Manone can not say what is his favorite club?
It’s a bad professional? No training? Do not do his best in games? Creates bad environment in the dressing room? Has bad habits out of Arsenal? etc …
I think not. It is natural to say so. What matters is that when he is in Arsenal, gives us his best and what he can do.
As for the future, belongs to God.
My dream was to play at Arsenal and Arsenal, never hired me. And now it’s too late!
It’s raining!
Maybe we should have stood by Stuart Taylor…. 😉
Or Manninger who is on trail at Everton now…
JM, you know you’re getting old when you stop having dreams and start having regrets !
Hi JM… It’s never too late 😉
yes, Micko but I give “Gracias a la Vida!”
Steady on JM, no need for that sort of language.
I hear what your saying, Chezzer has also said he dreams of playing for Barca one day, just think they need bringing down a peg or two sometimes.
Does that mean given up all hope?
Mick, Stuart Taylor, Richard Wright, I can see a pattern emerging at City.
Think we can persuade them to sign Almunia and Fabianski..?
I haven’t seen that from Ches Micko…. Sell him! 😉
That’s right Rico, Chez was talking in terms of moving on in the future.
Kinda makes ya realise that maybe the thing to do is sign a goalkeeper aged around 25/26/27, who’ll see joining Arsenal as the pinnacle of his career, rather than as a stepping-stone to elsewhere…
Wonder how many players Wenger might have to pick from at Norwich… Diaby, Gibbs, Jack, Sagna, Frimmers???
No comments about ladies success here!
Spot on Ak, similar can be said of the outfield players, Merts, Pod, Santi, Giroud etc etc, all at the right age and they are loving life….
Ah, the continental cup win JM, 1-0 winners over birmingham.
I reckon all those Ak….
It’s tipping down in London.
I wonder if Agag has visited a coffee shop in Holland?
Wonder if Adam has his pearly king suit on today?
It is here too Ak, horrid and dark too…
I do Kev. Mrs A and I donned our Pearlies and drove out for a cuppa and a bit of bread pudding in them this afternoon. I’m doing a turn at the local pub tonight where I will lead the locals in a chorus of Maybe It’s Because I’m A Londoner, finishing, after a few oldies, with My Way. Everyone welcome, especially Gooners.
Bread Pudding Adam, bread pudding…. 😮
Not heard anything from Canuck for awhile…
Where on earth, can he be???
Logging in The North-West Territories?
Marching across the tundra trapping beaver??
Panning for gold in the Rockies???
We miss you… 😉
I had to think for a minute then Ak, Canadian, was he going on his hols?
Or is he just avoiding us 😉
Do you like bread pudding Rico or don’t they have it in the country?
Gawd bless ya Adam, me ol’ cock sparra…
Kev. Do you know My Old Man Said Follow The Band? It’s one of my best songs. They love it down the old rubadub.
Sound just like Dick Van Dyke, there Adam.
Hum diddle liddle liddle hum diddle lie…
I can’t stand it Adam, jam doughnuts are my weakness ….
I always knew you were a classy girl Rico. 🙂 personally I love a bit of bread pudding as long as it’s a good one. Need to be home-made really. Served warm with a cup of tea. Very nice.
Nothing wrong with a good jam duffnut Adam, as long as its dipped in granulated sugar and not castor 😉
Obviously Rico. Any preference as to flavour of jam?
Has to be strawberry Adam and seedless. I watched the British Bake off the other week and they were making them. I’m going to give it a go soon… Should be interesting…
That’s an exciting program Rico. I met Paul Hollywood once. He had a tremendous presence and dynamism about him. Must be from inhaling all that yeast. 🙂
He certainly seems a nice guy – quite like Mary Berry too….
