Morning all,
I’ll kick off with the gossip and the main headlines are all about Cesc Fabregas. Both Manchester sides are very much interested in signing the player with £30 Million being the reported price. Ouch, that will hurt if he ends up at either of those clubs.
Julio Cesar reckons he’s in talks with a few clubs about a move away from Qpr:
I am in negotiations with other clubs in England and from other countries but there’s still not been anything definitive.
That reminds me of Bendtner, he and his agent were always telling us they were in talks with many clubs, still he’s on our books. I strongly suspect the Brazilian is getting desperate for a move but no-one is interested in him because of his salary.
Onto today’s post…….
The Day I became Gooner…..
Just yesterday I finally watched ‘Fever Pitch’. Awesome awesome movie and it just took me back to how and when I became Gooner. I am from lovely country of India and as most Indians Cricket run through my veins. I grew up watching the great Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid….. So, my love for Football started very late.
My first run in with Football was during 1994 World Cup in USA. I still remember watching Roberto Baggio miss a penalty against Brazil and being left so disappointed. That was the first time I felt pain due to football.
My next encounter came 4 years later in 1998 France and I became aware of players like Zidane and Suker who I admired. I loved Suker, for some reason I always have a soft spot for those departed nations from USSR, especially Yugoslavia.
After the 1998 World Cup, Star Network in my country must have realised just how big an audience was to be catered for, we had to wait four more years for telecast in India. Finally we got our first match in 2002.
That was the year when I was torn up between who to support.
Would it be Liverpool because of Owen (Love him hate him, he was one of the best), Man United because of RvN, Chelsea for one great Zola (felt for him when Watford lost in the play-off final) and Gudjonson or would it be the mighty Arsenal because of one man named Thierry Henry.
It took me over a year to make up my mind……
Finally the moment came and it was during the 2003-04 season, I knew I would support Arsenal for rest of my life.
It happened at Highbury.
We were level at 2-2 after Hypia/Owen and Henry/Pires goal. Henry received the ball on the half way line and off he went, dribbling past five players, including the great Jamie Carragher. He dribbled and dribbled until he had ball in back of the net. Of course, we went onto to win 4-2 thanks to that great mans hat-trick……
It may not be everyone’s favourite goal but I will cherish it forever for the goal that made me Gooner.
Here it is:
Since that day, through the good times and bad, Arsenal has and always will be a big part of my life…..
The great man has been talking about the Arsenal, present day. Just like Freddie, he didn’t like the celebrations after 4th place was secured, but he’s is willing to understand if it was about one reason and one reason only and that is:
Putting Tottenham out of the top four, and I really do hope that’s what they were celebrating about, that’s the only thing you can celebrate.
If you’re an Arsenal man through and through that’s like winning something.
I said it when we did to them in 2006. It wasn’t the fact that we qualified for the Champions League, it was because we kicked them out of it and we went in.
Isn’t that the one and only reason we all celebrated too?
Written by S2S
fabergas to man u or man city?? never goin to happen!!
Only a couple of comments enough has been said.
Celebrating the win at Newcastle was definitely because we piped the Spuds to a Champions League spot. We hate tottenham.
More important, if Fabregas leaves Barca for any premiership team then he is a traitor just as much as the rest that have left us for our rivals. If he does not come to Arsenal then he’d better go elsewhere like Bayern Munich, Dortmund, Milan or Juventus.
If Wenger or the Board allow him anywhere near the North East they themselves are traitors and can F off with him.
Oh S2S good read not sure why you took so long choosing the Mighty Arsenal especially with the sides we’ve had in the time you where writing.
Really enjoyed s2s, well written.
umm… did you miss the memo about Cesc having a clause in his contract that states Arsenal have first refusal if Barca ever decide to sell him. The lads a gooner.
Morning all.
Nice one S2S
Cesc to leave Spain and come here, i thought he wanted to leave here and go to Spain. Anyway not a problem for me He went and left us with a weakened side not that it was that strong anyway. Cesc is now a foreign player playing in a foreign league dont really care where he goes, would i take him back, No he bailed and that’s good enough for me plenty of fish in the sea. Oh and glad you picked the best team S2S you could have done a lot worse 🙂
If rumours are something to believe, we should notmbe talking Jovetic or Higuain moving to Juventus as according to them, those players have either signed a pre contract agreement with Arsenal or agreed to be part of the team, so they ( rumours ) say.
It is the same thing with Cesc and Man City to Man U rumours. It will never happen. Not now or next decade.
His love for Arsenal is too good to make him a traitor.
So, Man City or Man U fans must keep on DREAMING ON!!!
Morning all..
I will not believe Fabregas will go to Manchester..
Amazing all the comments about Cesc being a gooner and loving Arsenal… IF that was true why then is he playing for Barca…?
He’s barca… end of..!
Morning all, AK stop being so bloody miserable…! 😉
Cescs fabrigas was born to play only for Arsenal and barcelona,…..leave that is just a speculation.
I think folk are naive if they believe Cesc would never join MUFC or MCFC. Just because we have first refusal on a transfer away from Barca doesn’t mean we are the only club he could leave them for: it just means they have to offer us the chance to sign him if they want to sell; if AFC decline (or decline at the price demanded by Barca, anyway), I’m pretty sure that Catalans woudl have the right to sell elsewhere if they so choose. It then comes down to what Cesc wants. Woudl he ever consider joining another PL side? He might prefer to retunr to AFc in an ideal world, but he’s already demonstrated once that he will take a rational hard-headed decision to reject our club in favour of what he considers a better prospect: if he’s done it once, he could do it again. Forget the DNA rubbish: money and ambition talk at the end of the day. That said, I suspect he’d much rather stay and make a success of his time at Barca if he can, so it all depends on how he regards his prospects there.
S2S, I grew up with a similiar scenario to yours, Ian Botham, John Hawley and Ian Rush, enuf said.
Good Morning Lady and Gentlemen.
Good read S2S
People, would you like ……………….
Fabregas to Arsenal,
RVP back to Arsenal,
Nasri back to Arsenal
Flamini back to Arsenal
Song back to Arsenal
or any superstar that has left in the past eight years???
Just in case you haven’t noticed………….with them we won sweet FA.
Yes I would like Cesc back. but only if he is complemented by other signings who come from the EPL and if and only if AW inserts a clause in his contract stating that he cannot utter a word about leaving AFC before he is 31 years old.
Not Stanley Matthews Micko 😉
FEM… spot on, the media reports say the buyback clause for Cesc is 25million…! If we really want him and IF he really wants to leave barca then it won’t be due to us not being willing to pay 25mil it will be because we genuinely do not want him back..!?!?
A very valid point you make there Dev, we won nothing with those players that have all left, we were still a few players light when we had them and for me i’d take none back, I think you cut your ties and you move on…. Plenty players with quality out there who would make us better, get them lets not go back to players who left thinking that it is better elsewhere…! Cesc prime example… Great player but poor attitude huge ego…!
on the serious side now.
yes I would like him back. But I believe that he will remain at Barca for the rest of his playing life.
all that is being read and printed in the news is pure speculation.
but then we all like to read and fantasise and speculate.
Hiya WATH.
how are you?
be honest………..who do you think AFC will sign? And who would you like us to get before pre-season
God forbids Fabregas from joining another club in England. Its Arsenal or abroad. I urge Arsenal board to push quickly for him, he loves the club, he will come.
As I said the other day, Wenger won’t evertake him back., he never forgets tantrums or picking up toys, thrown from the pram, nor does he forgive, disloyalty! That’s what the small boy Cesc did in order to engineer his return to mother barca! So that’s him binned!
The fact is his near pensioner aged girlfriend wants to come back to London and Cesc can afford to buy her divorce settlement priced house back for her, so he sees this as an opportunity to return to the city where he left some of his dna, I’ll leave you to work out what and where you may find traces of his dna!?!? Subtly he his engineering his way back to these shores. Yes, I think he would re sign for Arsenal, but should the chavs arrive with an offer that would ‘do’ Manchester is probably a journey too far, although it is not far on a map. Only a couple of inches!!
Nah, he won’t be back. Costa Brava and family v London and anonymity?
What would you choose?
Am fine Dev, how you mate, hope all is well is sunny Malta,
I want Rooney for starters and i think we are genuinely in for him….! No laughing….!
I think we need a central midfielder Fellaini would still be my first choice but Capoue or similar would be fine, I think we also need width, a proper out and out left winger would be good, Tom Ince i would get and the same as most others I would like an older experienced keeper and centre back “IF” TV5 leaves…!
Keeper,
Centre half
Capoue/Fellaini
Tom Ince
Rooney
That would do me Dev,
Wavy, you insinuating London weather is shit lol………..
I happen to think that that mind set is slightly mistaken Wavy.
With regards Cesc…….AW will forgive him. He will not forgive the togolump, or Nasri, or flamini.
But for AW Cesc is a different matter.
And Cesc knows that if he wants to be main man around whom the team revolves the ideal place would be AFC.
Personally I think that it will be Cesc and Rooney together and no one else except a goalkeeper on a freebie (Cesar) and a r/b in case Sagna leaves……….
or else spend the 70 million on 5 new players whom we have never heard about.
Nice one S2S is this your first post for the house…
I also remember the trequartista miss that penalty and Dunga lifting the penalty… great tournament…
Cesc is a snake, and has no loyalty to us imho… but then I would say that because I don’t trust no footballer..
Afternoon btw…
I like Tom Ince as well Wath.
still young and his potential to develop is there to be taken advantage of.
off for now fine folk.
back a bit later
Afternoon folks.
Nice post S2S… Hopefully you will join us a bit later..
I loved that goal, any against the dippers I love….
Dg, your last para is dead right, except it won’t be 70m it will be nearer 25m max. The players will mostly hail from africa or france and they will be “ze noo generashun ov plyas to tek ze clurb forwurd”
But no Cesc nor Vain? Imo.
We only just pipped spuds to 4th place. The way we’re going, we can only get lucky so many times. At some point, they’ll get one over us if we keep playing like we do.
Its not just about the quality of our buys…I think the training regimen is all wrong as well as as player attitude. Theres a lot of work needs doing..from the top all the way down. Else….I don’t see us in the top 4 next season.
Fact is, Cesc is getting stick from Barca crowd. Painfully obvious when you watch their games. Seem to remember him slagging off City when he was linked with them before, he’s defo had numerous run-ins with Maureen both here and in Spain and he has previous with Moyes from a couple of Everton games too.
Benteke took his goals very well yesterday…
David Villa is also available so there are options if Rooney appears too expensive for pensioner PHW…
Hristo Stoichkov Stoichkov scoring superb goals in 1994… players are not made like that anymore…
Bj, has Cesc been playing badly then? Don’t watch Spanish football very often….
Asgrid, I thought that day was going to be the final day of the season….
Far too close for comfort…
Hey Rico,
Thanks for posting it. You know it been a while since I have written anything so like all greats I am some what rusty.
And thank you all you housers for warm support. Finally I’ve got off from work and it has been quite hectic of late. I
@tsgh: Its my second post for house. My first one got massive 500 response and i was so stoned on that that i felt like never writing again. ehe.
Re: Cesc
I don’t think so we’d need to worry about Man Utd getting him. Its proper bollocks from media. The reason why we sold him so CHEAPLY to Barca was mainly to have that first refusal clause. And i.e. why we sold him for mere 34M and I dont think Barca are so bad that they’d sell him back to Man Utd for 25M when they say we get 50% of his sale fee. It means they’d get just 12.5Million for Cesc. Media are just crazy.
Its back to Arsenal or only at Barca for Cesc and no where else.
IF (Big if) Fabregas rocks up in Manchester… or anywhere else in England for that matter I think it could be the straw that breaks the camels back for me. I genuinely think that transfer could turn me off top flight football for life.
I’d probably go and follow my local club.
Sounds a bit ‘Toys out of pram’ I know, but I really couldn’t stomach watching Cesc play for anybody else.
I’ve been disillusioned with football for a long time anyway. Just my love for Arsenal keeps me watching. I rarely watch any other games these days as the players are such disloyal money grabbing c*** bags.
Rico,
Can I get off moderation?
Agrid… I know it was only one point but we scored 15 more goals and had superior goal difference… the issue is that we did not have a ‘Bale’ to conjure some magic when needed as was in the case against Norwich in October… that is why I always refer to the lack of big game players… that is what we need.
AW spends ages scouting players whilst fergie only looks at players he is interested in when they are playing against title contenders or local rivals… i.e big games.
That is the reason why Fergie bought Powell after watching him once in the play-off whilst we spent months watching him againt teams like Barnsley etc.. Another example wa Strootman flopping against Ajax when Fergie was there so he was not bought…
Rico, Cesc is playing okay… most people expect him to be doing what he was doing with us but that is difficult when you have the world’s best players arouind you… Even Alexis looks lost around Messi and the biggest ego on the planet Ibrahimovic was like Gerv in disguise during his time at Camp Nou…
Hi Rico,
Would compare Cesc in Barca to Poldi. Rarely plays a full game. Usually substituted. The groans and whistles have been audible when he has been in posession though.
BJ, Cesc is like what Rambo is at Arsenal.
Cesc has not been able to shift Iniesta and Xavi from his favoured position and has been used as a false No 9 in place of Messi , All of which are hard acts to follow. Certain sections of the crowd treat him, as certain of ours, treat Walcott. They feel he is a step down in comparison. I will be in Catalunya next week and will try to pick up on the local vibes. Personally I would have him back , all transfers are risky but this one will be less so as there should not be a settling in period. It’s all a case of whether he can get his head straight as he seems to be an unsettled type of kid that is easily swayed by those around him.
Hi Rico. Look at the player’s private life to see what has gone wrong for him.
Suarez thinks te media are making his life hell in this country because they think he is a ‘looker’… wonders shall never end…
Thanks Bj, not nice for him then. Bet he wishes he’d stayed with us, where is was once truly loved by all….
Good point Ts, he had quite average players around him with us, shame we didn’t build around him a bit more, things could very well have been different….
Hi Adam…
Reap ( or is that reep 😉 ) what you sow I say 😉
Must nip out with Fido before it rains again, back shortly…
Here’s at least one Cesc/Moyes row
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/9384569.stm
Think there was another one at Goodison when he accused him of getting Arteta sent off!
Good point Rico… but in Cesc’s last 2 years with us he was like a cheating spouse… instead of putting in the effort to improve things at home, he flew to Catalunya whenever he did not feel like facing Fat Sam or Stoke in the winter… its still a wonder to me why and how he has not got the chronic hamstring injuries since his move…
I guess he does not play much so…
And Adam is also right… his private life is a mess…
C’mon please clear me off moderation.
Vermalen got injured last night… another example why Aw may not buy until this round of internatinals are over…
It will be suicidal to spend £20M on a player who may get injured playing for their country and miss the whole pre-season when you can probably go for a plan B who will be fitter and cheaper come august… 😉
hi there!
Really? Did you hear groams and whistles when Cesc play? And when he scored?
Xavi is in the end of line. He never plays a full, game. Sometimes, he replaced Cesc.
Iniesta is no more the same. Sometimes, he is also replace because he can’t play the full game.
Where did you read Cesc leave Barcelona?
Song was sent off yesterday.
Falcao – monaco – 45 millions
And Fabregas scored yesterrday for Barcelona
The other one
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-505207/I-thought-Fabregas-broken-jaw-reaction-says-raging-Moyes.html
Good points JM…
JM what do you think of Iago Aspas? His team are going down so I am not sure how to rate his 12 goals in 33 games stats… He is the one going to replace Suarez at liverpool…
Phew, managed to dodge the rain…
Afternoon…
Sorry S2S, I let you out the “jail” as Rico was sleeping lol
afternoon Rico… how did you dodge the rain drops? lol
Young Park scored 3 goals in 8 starts for Celta vigo… I wonder if Monaco will want him back… he is considered a legend over there. Plus there new found worth and tax exemption no wonder Falcao chose Monaco over the biggest teams in Europe…
Thanks W.A.T.H.
Afternoon all,
I don’t see Fabragas leaving. I’m sure Puyol is in his ear that Iniesta and Xavi are getting on and he’s next in there.
Still a month before the window opens. At least Confederations cup is next month to keep me interested.
Hi Ts, easy, it didn’t rain 😉
Sorry S2S, I wasn’t sleeping honest, just stirring a pan of Polenta 😉
I’d rather he stayed put too Bradster…
Polenta… nice
I like it sliced and grilled with Salmon…
Hi Brad, definite the confederation cup will be interesting… MA08 did not get a call up again… well our gain… he can geta well deserved rest ready for preseason…
I am looking forward to rugby too…
I’m with those of you who don’t think Cesc is leaving Barca. For one, It does not make sense for Barca. He is not playing badly, He does what he is asked to do and he scores the goals he gets.
Secondly, the alleged structure of the sale agreement with Arsenal , (first refusal, 50% sell-on fee) and the fact that they still owe us on his sale, means it would be a poor move financially too. Very poor.
The only thing they would gain is ridding themselves of one of the world’s best mids who they fought tooth and nail to get back… And looking pretty stupid at the same time.
Frankly, I think Arsenal raped Barca over Fabregas from start to end, and the rape could still be on.
🙂 interesting analogy Will…
AW will rather take their share in the sell on fee even if it is 10M and add to it…
Players like Younes Belhanda, Capella are available and hungry…
Ts – I love it grilled and with a red hot veggie chilli – but with salmon sounds yum too… Have added a bulb of roasted garlic to the Polenta 🙂
Selfishly, I too am glad about Arteta being overlooked but sad for him, looks like he’ll not get a call up for his country before he retires, amazing really considering how good he was at Everton and latterly for us…
I’m looking forward to the Ashes, be nice to rib Oz and Scott when the Aussies take a battering…. 😉
Good points there Will, but I also think Barca did us over when they signed Cesc back. At the time he was worth £50 million at least but they knew they had us over a barrel – so all things equal I’d say….
We just gave the kid a chance early, they wouldn’t so they paid….. Tough I say…
Monreal and SC19 are both in Spains team playing in the Confederation cup this summer… that would mean those 2 players may not be ready for August…
Marca. Claiming unreal mardyrid have struck a 40m deal for Suarez. Get your teeth into that one! Or will it gum up the works?!
Knock on effect Higuain to……..? Or Benzema to……..?
Rico, you are right about the initial fee we got but the selling on fee we will get back a la David Bentley type will be very interesting whoever and whenever he moves on… it is inteesting that it was AW who insisted on those clause when IG was just happy to accept whatever he could get…
Wavy, the unreal madrid paid 40M for that short spuddie… those guys are clueless… no wonder the Spainish economy is nose diving…
If Barca win another title and a CL over the next 3 years, they will owe us another 4 mil … on top of the 2mil they just paid us for winning the league. Love it.
It is also interesting to note Torres and Villa are both playing in Brazil this summer but Negredo was not selected…
Will… you reminding me of all these deals/clauses makes me see why Stan loves AW… he is a genius…!
Those amounts covers most of the dead woods salaries… 🙂
Aspas is a interesting player.
Bale – R-Madrid – 70 millions?
How the mighty dippers have fallen…! 😀
They will sell Suarez and replace him with Iago Aspas…. and Arsenal fans think we have got it bad… at least we have Gerv to pass our frustration onto 😛
70 million Krone maybe… if it is euros or pounds I will cry… lol
Atsu (F.c.Porto- ghana) – Liverpoll, totts, Everton or Arsenal?
Probably in the PL next year.
Come on AW!!!!
Tsgh, Financially, nobody compares to AW. He’s had ample time to wave his financial wand now though… Full time to get back to prioritising our football fortunes.
Lets hope Spain go out early then….
Ts – If Cesc is true to his word, he’ll go nowhere. He left us for one reason according to him… And that was to go home.
Hope we don’t have Gervinho next season 😉
JM, Atsu, is he good??
He is young and very fast, In Ghana, they cal “the messi of Ghana”. but he is a completely diferent player. He can be lucky in the PL.
Gundogan (BD) – Chelsea?
Wanyama (Celtic) – Totts?
Jm, I like Atsu but he is not suitable or prolific to playing in 4-3-3 imo… he is a very traditional left winger useful for 4-4-2
Will- we shall see with AW… saying that I am pleased with the linked players such as Clement, Cabella who all seem to only have one year left on their contracts…
Even Capoue I beleieve will come to us if the right amount is bidded considering he turned down PSG in January…
If Villa has a good and injury free tournament he could be a good addition,,, a big game player imho who can make a difference for 2 seasons at least.
The question is will the fans like such low cost signings because of the price tag…
Schulge (B.Leverkusen) . Chelsea. Deal done
Rico… a footballer being true to their word? ha ha ha… Rico I love the way you have a lot of trust.. I wish I was still like that… I am being honest here so don’t take offence to that.
As I said I would not trust that man with a used socks… 😉
Schurle? when was that JM… Draxler was not too good last night…
Do you know about Hermann?
yes, schurle. Today.
no
We have no chance then JM, if he’s good…
Ts, surely you know my comments well enough by now to spot irony 😉
Not making UK news yet I think… good for chelsea why Schurle though… they have Mata, Hazard, Moses…
Suarez’s agent says he is staying put…
Nice one Rico… you got me there… reading the post again it is clear now… 🙂
Marten Stekelenburg is available will you have him Rico?
Footballers?… NUFC are reportedly trying to hijack Carrol from the grasp of WHU…
ooWRooney, Cesc, Benzema, Huguain, Jovetic, yeah yeah yeah, we’re in for all of them aren’t we?!!!
Gooners, this is Arsenal and Arsene Wenger we’re talking about here…
Great comments all the same… 😉
Where’s Wath, is he somewhere moaning at someone?
S2S, nice post. Do you work in a call-centre? 😀
I might have been talking to you yesterday….
Rooney & Cesc Coach…. You been on them Colchester Woodbines again??? 😛
Nzonzi has already handed in a transfer request after 1 year… you can’t make it up… ha ha ha
With Hughes in charge of Stoke I think Begovic is a no no then… 😉
Hi Ak…have faith …pigs can fly I have seen that before… 😀
Ginge, Faith left town 8 years ago… 😉
Hi Rico, lata
JM, who needs “The Messi of Ghana” in Diaby we have “The Messi of the sick-bed”
Falcao will be earning 14M a year tax free…. wow
Ak, with hope and glory! 8 years of shambles, shame and sh.t! But we may have re signed Faith! Along with Hope and then we’ll get some glory?
Latest from BBC Sports Day
FOOTBALL
BBC Sport’s Dan Roan is hearing that Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood could be stepping down from the club’s board after 51 years as a director, on health grounds.
He tweets: If Arsenal are preparing for PHW’s departure they have v big decision to make re new Chmn. Average age of 4 current non-exec directors; 74.
I’m not so sure re Skelenburrrgeng Ts, he’s not playing so well these days is he??
Hi Ak… Mind the raindrops 😉
Micko – That’s funny.
rico, we’ve just had two days of beautiful sunshine, that usually means it’s heading your way, that’s our summer done and dusted over here.
no he is not playing at all… Rico
Thanks Micko, I really need some sunshine, hope you are right 😉
We are due a great week, maybe on the 22nd June when I head off on my hols 🙂
Were you trying to catch me out Ts 😉
When does the transfer window open or have I already asked that?
July 1st Adam…
😀 rico
Thank you Rico. Plenty of time then. 🙂
Not really though Adam, look back at Fergie’s transfers, he’s always made most of them before the 1st July.
If two clubs agree a deal, it can be done. July 1st is simply a contract signing on date I think…
I think once the overseas leagues have ended, (this weekend) we will see clubs start to move and sign players..
Not Arsenal of course 😉
I thought it was August 31st rico, don’t wanna be getting Adam’s hopes up.
🙂 Micko, but you could cut that window down a bit. 11-1159 pm for Arsene..
Off to get dinner now… Back later…
Have we signed anyone yet?
I’m only asking for Adam’s sake…
Faith, Hope and Charity, Wavy…
PHW going eh?
Now i’m really sad to see him go, not!
I suppose he could get a job writing for the Daily Star.
Dan Crowley to sign from Aston Villa tomorrow.
17 year old Crowley is rated as the next Jack Wilshere.
Yaya Sanogo expected to sign this week as well…
That’s it, transfer business done, that’s a Fiver you owe me Rico… 😉
He is more of a Gotze than a JW10 me think… according what has been said…
Wasn’t Jack Jebb meant to be the next best thing?
Dan Crowley goal against our u-18
No, no, no tsgh, Eisfeld is the next Gotze, Arsene saved himself 30 million there……………we’re all gonna end up with egg on our faces.
And he is British…Rico should be pleased 😉
Very good on the ball
ha ha ha Micko… that was your spin… Eisfield says he is the next Mozart….
Nice one, who am I to argue ! Either way be interesting to see if he steps up or goes the way like lots of others before him.
I know buddy… he looks good in preseason but like his idol fitness is an issue for him…
I am very impressed with Ak’s new boy Crowley…
Now we need someone from Kazakhstan or Malawi to balance the equation…
What happened to Dragoev… he was meant to be bees-knees last summer? And allegedly he only had a year to go on his contract last summer
I suppose we need Alistair Crowley for when we sell Jack to David Moyes. That and his affiliation with Satanism obviously.
You serious about Crowley Ak??
AW really is going British….
Ts, you can be so cutting 😉
If this transfer window goes back to being as frustrating as in previous years, ( except last year) My patience with those running the club would run out.
We need a couple players who excel in their position and are not just proficient. We need some excellence.
I’ll stop watching the transfer market now. I’m sure I’ll hear if we sign anyone, then I’ll start paying attention once again.
It will be a great shame if Hill-Wood leaves. He has been a great servant to the club.
It says here.
I was expecting you to mention ‘the beasts’ name Adam 🙂 Thelema and the bok of the law is what you read for PHW to resign I was told…
Rico, he only signed Dan because he has the turn of Le grand garlic Platini…
Rico, love you really… 😉
Didn’t Crowley perform “Fearful abominations with the Toad”?
Being a Toad myself I am a little worried.
He has Adam, but…. 😉
Ts – that’s nice to hear 😉
Shock, horror. Footy Latest are reporting that Sgt Major Moyes is raiding Bareclona (sic), which is a city in Catalynee. Apparently Cesc can’t wait to play under such a long-serving manager who once won a school raffle. Van Persie is also delighted and said earlier “Ja, David Moyes’ record as a PL manager is equalled only by Tony Pulis. Ever since I was a kid at school in Holland I have always wanted to play kick and rush football. When Pulis left Stoke I thought my chance had gone”.
Think nearly every newspaper is suggesting similar Adam…
Fabregas is silly to have left us, but is he stupid enough to come back to the PL – let alone with a club other than ours…
I doubt it myself….
I’m done for the day now….
Night Adam, Ts and anyone else who is reading…
‘Til tomorrow….
Me too. Night Rico. Night all….
night all…
Good night Rico, tsgh, Adam…t’morrow is another day.
Is he coming, or is he staying? (And I don’t mean Stan)
Yep, the ‘smart money’ is on Cesc staying.
But is this all just a ploy by Wenger. Some reports say that Barca would need to get £70m for him, just to get their money back as they have to give half of the fee to Arsenal.
Or is that half of any profit they make over the £26m they paid Arsenal?
Who knows? Who cares?
Well Wath cares, bless him…. 🙂
Then there is the report, yes that’s right ‘another’ report (where do they get them from?) that if a bid is made, that Barca must inform Arsenal, as we have first refusal… And can buy him back for the fee we sold him for. Or not, as the case may be, and depending on which ‘report’ you read.
I’ve read them all, or nearly all of them, and i’m none the wiser.
Is Cesc going to Manchester?
Is Cesc staying in Barca?
Is Cesc going to Chelsea?
Is Cesc returning to Arsenal? (hooray)
Is Cesc joining the Jehovah’s Witnesses?
Does Mick drink ‘Moonshine’..?
Is Gervinho moving to Colchester?
Night Gooners.
Ak, well, yes and no, to Cesc that is……..you choose the yeses and the noes and add or delete as appropriate.
Cesc returning not bloody likely! Not in the next 10 years or so
Good stuff all around…nothing real to say, except what I remember the most about WC’94 was my favorite player even Marco Van Basten not being a quarter of the player he really was. I think the only noteworthy thing he did was win a penalty…which I’m not even sure he deserved. Marco Van Basten. Ruud Gullit said he was never fully fit when playing for Milan…Van Basten…the biggest of the could have been’s!
Morning all….
Ak, Is Cesc on the move then? 😉
New Post up….
Fabregas shouldn’t have left but he did,
Fabregas knows better not to sign for Man utd but so did RVP but he still signed…
The question is would RVP have signed for Man utd if he knew Fergie was leaving at the end of the season?
The answer is I don’t think so.
The fact is , footballers are not great thinkers and they mostly or usually make the wrong decisions (Kaka to RM,Shenchenko to Chelsea, Drogba to China,Anelka to everywhere,Fabregas to Barca,Viera to Juve,Sinclair to Mancity, just to mention a few)
No doubt if RVP’s game should drop or if he should get injured, Moyes doesn’t know him and he will not be patient because he has a point to prove then it will be our time to laugh.
I think Fabregas should stay in Barca and fight for his shirt like a real footballer, Wenger is not going to buy him because he begged and begged him to stay.
