Big Sam lays the boot in, twice! Wenger dig re transfers & Fab Four ready to rock and roll?

Morning all.

I keep thinking about the goals Theo Walcott scored last season. Nineteen from the wing isn’t a bad return, especially when you consider how few of our players are actually contributing to our goal tally this season, but for reasons only Arsene Wenger and Theo know, this season he was discarded like an old dishcloth and dumped into the Europa League squad. He made the odd appearance in the League but it was clear his first team days were over. And for what, or rather who, Alex Iwobi! I’d understand the Englishman being overlooked for a better player or even Nelson who I believe is our future, but not for one minute do I believe Iwobi has been a better option.

Already it seems Walcott and Coleman are working well together, well, they did in their last match against Leicester. As Big Sam said, signing Walcott for £20M was a ‘no brainier.’ Our left hand side will be tested today that’s for sure although another start for Coleman might be too much having just returned from a long spell out with a broken leg.

The above two aren’t the only players who could cause us big problems, there’s Rooney, Sigurdsson, Gueye, Williams on set-pieces to name just a few. This isn’t the same Everton as it was under Koeman. The big fella will have them organised defensively and he’ll be out to get one over Wenger, again!

“I always felt defensively they are weak,” Allardyce said yesterday. If we break out with some quality forward passes, then create some good counter-attacking opportunities.”

“Swansea managed to get a result against them but the Emirates is a different kettle of fish. It’s about nullifying the strengths of Arsenal.”

Arsenal’s attacking force is something you have to manage. Even though they haven’t scored as many goals this year as they have in recent years at this stage of the season.”

Ok, he’s spot on about our defending, it is weak. Actually, it’s dreadful but if the Totts can batter them 4-0 at home then why can’t we at The Emirates?

At home our results have been better than those on the road although that’s not difficult and hopefully this evening we’ll get to see Aubameyang make his debut along with Mkhitaryan who’ll be playing in front of the home fans for the first time. Wilshere and Aubameyang were doubts according to Wenger but both were involved in training yesterday. If fit, our own ‘fab four’ could be on show tonight. A mouthwatering prospect eh.

As already said, defending is our big problem and it’s that which lets the team down. It’s the manager who’s letting his defence down.

Wenger spoke about just that yesterday:

‘Our defensive numbers aren’t good enough. We needed strengthening because we have to improve our defensive numbers to make the top four.

So why leave it until deadline day to make a move for Evans, a derisory one apparently. Why not get in there early and sign a defender who might make a difference, or a midfielder who will protect his back line and take the pressure off? Is this just a simple excuse yet again for his failings, or a dig at Sven and Ivan for not getting the player he wanted through the door? Perhaps a bit of both but instead of talking about who might have been, why not do something about getting more from who he does have and if he can’t, let Bould and stop putting himself before the good of the team.

Anyway, yet again I’ve rambled. Enjoy the game and let’s hope Walcott doesn’t ruin our evening…

Morning Rico not overly concerned about Everton fat sam’s record(much like Tony pubis) at arsenal is abysmal. He has never won a game against us at home(highbury and Emirates) yes he got a few draws but his team still manages to lose each time they come around. 3.1 to the good guys. It’s in the bag Rico. The feel good feeling is back. Wenger is on his way out of our club. Things are looking up and for the first time in ages am actually looking forward to match day without any trepidation whatsoever. Even if we lose I know Wenger is on his way out so that’s a consolation. Great post Rico still don’t know how you keep churning them out. You must have an amazing reservoir of knowledge (kissing was again eh Stan ?) come on you fucking gooners. Let’s smash them. Laca with a brace. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah. Come on.

  2. rico says:

    Morning Goonster, thanks.

Wish I was as confident. I reckon they could upset us if we defend like chumps…

Catch up later as it’s inlaws today…

    Morning All

    Morning Rico, good luck….

Yes, it’s all well and good Wenger and his partner in crime Primorac commenting on how bad we’re defending, talk is cheap, but when Uncle Bouldy wanted to do some extra defensive training who said no…..?

The fact is Wenger is either unwilling or unable to rectify the teams defensive frailties, yet another example of his intransigence and arrogance, you know ‘I’ve been a manager for X amount of years and I’ve picked X amount of teams, nobody can teach me anything’ mish…

I’m really happy with the business the club has done this January, getting a quality player in Mkhitaryan out of the mess Wenger created with Alexis was brilliant work.
Bringing in Mavropanos for a pittance, a player with huge potential.
Getting some good returns from players who’d served their time and been moved on.
Signing a top top class striker whose at his peak.

Yes I’m happy, but in years gone by I’d be buzzing, on the phone to my mates, talking about how the team is going to evolve and what we’re gonna do, because the elephant in the room is Wenger and Primorac and until they have moved on we’re never going to fulfil our potential and become EPL competitors again.

  4. Lee says:

“We don’t necessarily need relief but we want to be more efficient on the football pitch because when you say we’ve conceded too many goals, I think we don’t score enough goals.”

There you have it, the scrawny necked fuck doesn’t do defence!!! Just piss off………

  5. Kk says:

Wenger talks in riddles as usual. .he should be a politician. .
Always try to play with words and ignore the bleeding obvious!
Think we will struggle today, confidence is low after that dross show at Swansea. .need early goal to calm the nerves..

I am with Potter there we missed a trick not signing the speedy Moura..we don’t have any an out and out winger in our 1st 11.. thats why we always try to pass the ball inside and through the middle.

Hector supposedly a winger by trade can’t take on defenders and can’t make a decent cross..not good at defending either!

  6. Alex says:

    Aternoon Rico

Bould is as guilt as Le Prof…..Yes man happy to take his money only.

Otherwise would have packed ages ago.

  7. Wavy says:

The team I’ve just seen inspires me with absolutely no confidence. A little like the manager, it is unbalanced. Too full of nice boys when we need a ‘peaks blinder’ or two!

I shall be watching but for how long……….

  8. rico says:

    ? Kev..

Should have been five if Xhaka didn’t get in Ozils way.

Mind you, Auba was well offside for his goal.

And to think I thought this match would be tough. Really need to take them to the cleaners and not drop off.

  9. Joaquim Moreira says:

The same problems. With this line up we have big defensive problems. Fortunately, Everton don’t pressure today.
With ozil-Iwoby-Mythryn we can have a dangerous attack but poor in defense. One of them will be good, two enought; three it’s a “samba scholl !”.
We are one-to-one in back frequently and a big space betwwen the defenders and the midfield.
This footbal is good for our eyes but the problem is: what’s happen if we are not able to score one more goal then the opponent?

  10. potter says:

4up at half time ,lets see if we go crab like again. As for number 4- he was already turned but his feet were level.Has the rule changed because when I played that’s what mattered.

  11. Joaquim Moreira says:

As I predicted the second half. All they had to do was to press for Arsenal to look like “fool” on the field, with no connection between defense, midfield and attack. Did you sometimes notice that the number of defenders was equal to the number of forwards? Arsenal players (and AW) have to realize that defending is not tracking the player with their eyes. As long as this mentality is not changed, throwing it away will always be a chill. In Emirates, teams are usually not as offensive and there is more space to do “recreation” with the ball.

  12. Meerkat says:

Looks like I will have to write my post again.Doh!

‘Evening guys and gals. Fat Spam needs to take some lessons from Le Prof.
The team played a blinder today and shoved his words back down his throat.
For two thirds of the game we were breathtakingly good, and that was because of the manager, not in spite of him. The pre excuses are in abundance already I see, saying Wenger is no longer in charge, he didn’t have any say in the TW. Not true. He is shrewd enough after 20 years to know the club demands he balance the books, so had to get shot of some dead wood to free up some cash.

He is articulate during interviews, yet is criticised. I sometimes think some of you are happier when we lose, so that it justifies the criticism of Wenger.
The team have some wind in their sales now the little shitbag has gone. How long before he falls out with everyone at manure? The side is much better, and trite but true, attack is the best firm of defence.

Sad to see Theo in the toffees though, but he may shine through the dross there.

AKB, lol. Where is Scott these days?

  13. Meerkat says:

    Rico 9.12pm (And?) LOL.

Don’t you lot get fed up with agreeing all the time? Not one dissenting poster! What’s the point of that? Armchair managers do not get it. Experience counts for a lot. AKB.

  14. rico says:

So you’re suggesting you know better then Meerkat? You assume we all prefer us to lose than win. I couldn’t care less if you’re an Akb as you call yourself, but don’t assume how I or anyone else feels eh…

By the way, if experience counts for so much, how come a bloke who has managed in the PL for twenty years, can’t sort our defending out?

  15. Meerkat says:

I’m just an Arsenal fan Rico, not a pseudo manager and have never suggested otherwise, so don’t make assumptions about me either.
What I do know though, is that you don’t like anyone, particularly another female on here, disagreeing with your constant criticism of Wenger, and that isn’t just an assumption. C’est la vie.
Our manager is far from everyone’s ideal, but I don’t know if any at any other club, who is.

  16. potter says:

After a win of such proportions it is easy to appear and cry foul to all the wobs amongst us. However it is foolish to cite the wonders of our home form whilst forgetting the woeful away form. It’s a double edge blade even after the impressive first half ,once we went into containment mode our defence looked less than safe and efficient. We may, have sorted some of our attacking options but the neglect of the defence is nothing short of criminal.

  17. rico says:

Poppycock Meerkat, I couldn’t care less if your male, female, martian or whatever. That’s a really cheap and stupid accusation to make!

I meant, better than anyone here, not Wenger…

  18. Meerkat says:

I beg to differ Potter. It’s not that easy to post on here actually, knowing full well that your views will be shot down because you choose to differ. Rico will be quick to say ‘don’t bother then’. Lol.
Also I am not foolish enough to think that one good display means we are now world beaters. Yes our defence are shaky, but I didn’t see that many real quality defenders available in either the summer or this TW.
Evans isn’t imo Arsenal quality any more than Kolasinac is, so if we had settled for buying him it would have smacked of desperation. Yes we may be a little desperate, but a good attacking force will do just as much good for the team, if not better. The new signings may have a real positive effect, they did today anyway.
I don’t think it’s criminal at all to prefer no defenders to average or poor ones. Bould and the other coaches should be earning their salaries. And I don’t believe for a minute that Wenger won’t allow them a say even if you all choose to.
And for the record there are not WOBS amongst you, you are all WOBS.
No wonder this blog is down to only four or five regulars. Contrary to the claim, its not ok to disagree, and that is made clear to everyone.

  19. Meerkat says:

Cheap and stupid Rico? Yeah, true though. Hit a nerve there methinks. You were always scathing and rude to Scott, bullying him, no wonder he doesn’t bother anymore. I said once before, he was everyone’s whipping boy on here, and I still believe it.It is so negative all the time.
I admired you once for taking this blog on, but most of the original posters have disappeared, I wonder why.
Oh, and don’t try to talk me out of it, lol, but this time I am outta here for good. Unless I am bored another night and fancy a laugh. Byeeeeeee.

  20. micko says:

C’est la vie Meerkat, make the most of it because come the summer your be riding out of the Emirates on the back of Arsene Wegner’s donkey if he’ll have you lol !

Stapleton, Clive Allen (ahem), Chapman, Campbell, Cole, Anelka, RVP, Adethewhore, who have I missed, thank goodness Walcott was always a bit of a soft touch lol !

    Nite Gooners.

  21. Goonster says:

This chic always irks the fuck out of me. Where were you when Bayern mauled us 5.1 3 seasons in a row??? God some people are so mind numbing stupid. We win one game and they all crawl out of their shanties and talking out of their ass and for your information meercnut Rico was never anti. Wenger. The old fool pushed her to the brink just like he did me. I was pro Wenger for years. Supported that fraud through thick and thin. Used to post comments on legrove and got cursed out by jaguar. That’s where I met kev and Rico. The resident WOBs here were me lee micko and my main man arsenalDNA. Rico even threatened to ban us for our incessant moaning but can you blame her. We had the opportunity to sign hazard yet got gerwanko, they offered us greizmann, we opted for sanogo. We haven’t signed a DM(Still haven’t) in eons. Yet cnuts like you crawl out of your swamps and come on here to cast aspersions on us all. Leprof she always says….more like leshit. Cnut. Stupid bitch.

  22. Goonster says:

Sorry for the nasty words Rico am not sticking up for you just gotta blow off some steam. Every AKB and their dog were out last night talking out of their asses again. My apologies for all the swear, curse and foul words. Am not sorry I said them though. She deserves it. What a tool.

  23. Lee says:

Stan these people make you die don’t they? One good win and they appear, not about after the Swansea embarrassment? Or the other countless embarrassing results that Wenger has served up?

As for no defenders available in the summer or even in January, you must either live under a rock or not watch any football…. for me the biggest (and there’s been countless) mistake by Le Washed up One is neglecting the DM position for so many seasons! Xhaka just isn’t the answer…

Finally if Rico is doing such a bad job with the blog, why not set up your own one? You could enroll Scott a Neolithic poster that called an away supporter a “dick head” for holding up a Wenger out banner! Someone that wanted to have a fist fight with another poster….classy!

Twenty four points behind City, five points behind 4th spot played an extra game (that’s a trophy for your ilk isn’t it?)
knocked out of the FA cup. still in the Europa (will not win that imo)and in the final of the two bob cup!

Supporters like you think that that’s ok, looking through your Wenger tinted glasses. Well I can’t wait for him to leave and hopefully his band of blinkered fans follow him too.

C’est la vie? More like ”piste-froid” far more apt!

  24. ScottfromOz says:

Stan, by using “stupid bitch” “meercnut” and “cnut”, you’ve just shown what Meerkat said is absolutely right, so well done.
    It’s ok to disagree?
    Really?
I see a week ago that Arsene was going to stuff up the Aubameyang deal, yet when it was done, it was down to Ivan and his mates, but then Arsene has all the power.
    Mmm.
You don’t even see the irony lol
See you next time 🙂 🙂

  25. Goonster says:

Scotty oz she can’t come on here and insult us all. She has this condescending way of posting. Why do you guys always pop up when we win?? Where was she when lowly fucking Swansea whipped us?? Plus she only came on here to goad us. This is not legrove we ‘re not here to wish ill on arsenal. We all want the same thing. Nobody on bere has ever wished arsenal lose a game. We all get behind the team and root endlessly. She’s just bitter because she knows her dear leader’s time at arsenal is coming to end. And I ‘ll reteirate I don’t regret anything I say to her. She deserves it.

  26. Goonster says:

Lee I try not to engage them but sometimes I just can’t take it anymore. Like you said I can’t wait for lecnut to fuck off and take his foul smelling fan base with him.

  27. ScottfromOz says:

Stan, I’m sure Meerkat wants what’s best for the club, like we all do.
I’m heading to Holland later in the year-my boy has a football tour so even though we “hate” each other, I’d love to have a beer with you 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
    Kidding mate.
When the club has some proper success, I’m sure we will all revel in it and hopefully, it happens soon.
I think we are headed in the right direction.

  28. Goonster says:

Scott really?? You still on this? Like I said why do you guys only pop up when we win only to goad. You guys are unbelievable.

  29. Goonster says:

Plus I don’t hate you Scott. Our arguments has always been one of respect. I ‘ll love to show you around Arnhem. Let me know when you ‘re be coming.

  30. ScottfromOz says:

Stan, I only came on as I was called out-I didn’t jump on because we won.
I’m not sure of the itinerary, but I’ll definitely be bringing Arsene over to convert you hahahaha
Nah, he won’t last long and his heart isn’t in it, from what I’ve heard.
He’s helping the transition to life after Arsene, so the story goes but time will tell.
    Later guys.

  31. rico says:

    Morning all.

Feisty start to the morning. But what’s been said is so true. Certain people do only appear after a victory and try to claim life at Arsenal is all rosy again which of course is absolute poppycock. Yes, watching our forward players yesterday was exciting at times, but the rubbish served up behind them is embarrassing.

Goonie, your language was choice, but I get the frustration and thanks for your support, you too Lee….

Lee, starting up their own blog is a task too tough I’d imagine, after all, how would these AKBs deal with the majority of fans who are WOBs ad Meerkat refer to us? The suggestion that I don’t like other women being on here was absolutely ridiculous, insulting actually.
