Bid Rejected, Bielik Confirms Move & Arsene Wants A Brazilian….

Morning all.

So, Krystian Bielik, born on January 4, 1998 in Konin, Poland, is looking highly likely to become an Arsenal player. He’s a 6ft 2in Defensive Midfielder who has played six times for Legia Warsaw and twice for Poland U16s.

Well the bonus there is if he turns out to be very good, he’s tall!

According to reports, the player has said:

“I’ve made a decision (to join Arsenal) and I’m not going to change it.”

Now it’s all about Arsenal and Warsaw agreeing a fee so if Arsene is involved, I suspect we are trying to get him as cheap as possible!

But what about the here and now, surely Arsene Wenger won’t persist with Flamini and Coquelin and despite what he has said about the latter and as much as Le Boss wants to praise Le Coq in front of cameras, his returning from Charlton and playing smacks of desperation, just as much as the resigning of Flamini did.

Arsene Wenger has to sign someone in that position this month surely? Or is he really waiting until the summer to get Morgan Schneiderlin. My fear is if he waits until then, other clubs will get in there first with a bigger and better offer so why not make that move now, offer whatever it takes to get the player signed up. Within reason of course.

French all rounder Reggie Perrin won’t be signing now according to L’Equipe, they reckon Arsene Wenger has cooled his interest and moved onto 24 year old Brazilian Gabrial Paulista who plays for Villarreal. He’s never played for his country so getting a work permit might be difficult. It usually is for us! Anyway, when have L’Equipe got anything right?

Same could be said about The Daily Star who today write that Arsenal have had a £5 million bid for 22 year old Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Marcelo Brozović  rejected.

Finally, Petr Cech will be allowed to pick a new team in the summer and we are heavily linked to be one of those clubs…

Ahhhh, the transfer gossip, don’t you just love it….

Have a good day all…

    Morning Rico and All
Post about right on whats going on now……
    ……………….the window has opened………………….
The scouts have done the work..hopefully?
What are you waiting for Mr Wenger
Dont all rush to tell me.

  2. rico says:

Morning Fred, makes you wonder if AW has any kind of plan doesn’t it?

Hayden could be the answer if given a chance but we still need someone like Morgan signed and get Flamini and Coquelin off the books – and Diaby….

  3. Adam says:

Hayden seems like a player who has become both brilliant and what we need without playing a game. I think he is fantastic. Who is he?

  4. rogerbij says:

Morning all, Im all for signing the best youth around. And if they dont make the grade then sell them at 21!

This is a completely separate issue from needing experience and quality now in DM and CB. But there is virtually no chance of Schneiderlin signing for us in Jan – Southhampton are above us remember, and are in no need to sell. There is only slightly more chance to buy Carvalho since Sporting are out of the CL. I dont like waiting and probably Wenger doesnt either, but thats the reality. Im dead against buying anyone who is not top top quality in Jan and signing them on for 4 years. The sensible option would be a loan till summer for someone decent-ish. And buy a top CB if you can. Not a sexy option and not my preference, but that is the universe as we find it.

    Back to the beach…

  5. rico says:

I’m not suggesting he’s brilliant for one minute Adam, but from what I’ve seen of him, he’d work a lot harder than Flamini and Coquelin!

  6. Adam says:

Rico. I like him enormously as you know and there is non so ardent as the newly converted. Despite my unbridled enthusiasm I still think we are setting our sights much, much too low. But it’s an old and rather stale point of view from me these days and unlikely to fall on fertile ground. As Ath. Madrid proved last night though, you can beat the best if you are conservative and have a game plan with intelligent players who can employ that plan against technically superior opposition. In other words, if you don’t buy the best, you absolutely need a tactician in the fold.

  7. eduardo says:

“setting our sights low these days” what a load of bullshit, Ozil, Alexis, Debuchy, Welbeck, Ospina, and Chambers are our recent signings, over £120M spent, if that lot is setting our sights low, then long may it continue.

When things are getting heated, I tend to go, and sit in a darkened room, with a cool glass of Cydrax…

  9. Canadian Gooner says:

Good Morning to The Lady of the House and all fellow Gooners in residence.

Nothing, other than some of recent game fiascoes, seems to raise Gooners` blood pressures than transfer window speculation. As the club have three more weeks, I`m not going to get too excited yet. However, I hope we don`t sign any stopgaps of the likes of Flamoney.

Time for deep breathing exercises and meditation to keep the blood pressure within the healthy range.

  10. Canadian Gooner says:

Kev – Whatever gets you through to the end of the month and the close of the transfer window. Let`s just hope that there is some reward for us and the team at the end of it.

  11. Adam says:

There are some games at the Emirates that can be enjoyed, there are some that are fraught with tension. Then there are some that need to be endured. Stoke come in the last group. If they were in a lower division, kicking the crap out of another bunch of Northerners, the world would be a better place. They could take that barrel of lard Moss with them too.

  12. rico says:

How many footballers still perform at the highest level at 44 years old?

None I’d say and certainly not outfield players..

So how can a referee still perform at this level at that age?

  13. tsgh says:

    Afternoon all..

    Interesting post Rico…

I hope Gabrial does not turn out to be another Edu style fiasco. Rumours were that he was going to be getting an EU passport before he moved to the yellow submariners but…

  14. tsgh says:

… Joel Campbell is going to other way anyway so…

With AW still stuck in 1992 he will never build a squad of 22 senior players but 15/16 seniors with the rest made up of potential…

  15. tsgh says:

Yes.. Bt I saw the photo…

Is it not the same incident that got L.A thinking there was going to be another earthquake last April?

  16. Bt62 Gooner says:

Ts, i don’t know. i just came across the article with the sequence of photos and an interview with the photographer..
I thought it was a stunning set of photos and something you would find interesting..

The photographer is Polish i believe, perhaps it’s all a case of ‘smoke and mirrors’ Boom, Boom!!!

  17. potter says:

De ja vu all over again , Bielik wants Arsenal , Legia Warsaw want a good price , apparently they have offers from two German clubs in excess of Arsenal’s offer of £ 1.6 million around the 2.5 Legia want. Yet again we appear to be prevaricating on price.

  18. frednerk says:

    Wengers at it again,
He says that the winter window,is not worth it regarding players,
He says that the real deals are done in the summer months,
You need more time to get deals done..He says
Wonder why he leaves it to the last 3hours on the last day.

  19. Rick says:

    Afternoon Rico and the house.
The FA have charged the Dwarf for the comments he made in the game against Soton. Bet he gets away with it.

  20. frednerk says:

Funny how the work has gone into this polish kid Rico,

Wenger has a way with the boys, but its the men we want.

Thought you could use that tomorrow for the headline..Rico

  21. Rick says:

If they fine him, he will say case proven they got in for me.
Good to see you sticking up for Isaac Rico.
I notice that Micko had a pop at you last night over him, take no notice of him.

  22. rico says:

Seems that way Fred and I don’t get it really, not when we have Hayden in the squad who us older, taller and looks good. Albeit I seem to be one of a very few who rate him….

  23. rico says:

Rick, I like Isaac, very much – but I don’t think Micko was having a pop, he was just being his usual cheeky self… Lol

I’ve watched him for the under 21s and he looks good, confident and competent. Shame so many want to write him off before he’s even given a chance.

  24. rico says:

Fred, do you reckon Hayden could make it with us? Be interesting to hear your view as you are well informed on the academy…

  25. rico says:

Same as all of them coming through Fred, they all need games to see if they have what it takes but I thought he did little wrong against Southampton…

Hard working, well that’s something most if us crave for in our team, there aren’t many who can be credited with that eh….

  26. rico says:

His injury sure came at the wrong time – having just promoted to the first team squad, he may have been used more gas injury not struck..

  27. rico says:

Hi Micko, I have been waiting all blooming day for someone to make a comment about the headline. I knew I could count on you 🙂

  28. rico says:

Tonight’s news made very sad viewing…. What has this world become…… Rip all those whose life has been cruely taken in France…..

  29. Micko says:

rico, EE will be filming a flash back episode shortly, first time ever, re lucy beale……you’ll be in soap heaven, nite
    matey.

  30. Rick says:

As you know Rico I have been a big fan of Isaac from the moment I first saw him, and that was the at start of the 2012-2013 season. Last season Ginge and I discussed( more than once)what we thought would be his best position and I think we both agreed that it was at C/H
Like Fred has said he needs playing time with the first team which I think he would have had by now but for his latest injury. I would love to see him playing alongside of Kossy with Mikal in front of him. I honestly think he is one of the best defenders that we have and he has it within himself to make it to the top.
Now there is a vidio of young Bielik and having seen it I would say he is a differant type of player altogether amidfielder as to a defender.

Fred all three from your zone , They are not far from my old zone.

  31. rico says:

Either position, I think he deserves a chance Rick and I seriouslybhope he isn’t sold off just like those before him….

    Def gone now….

  32. frednerk says:

    Rick,
Kev ask me a while ago if a new Dobson,
some how or another I thought I had missed him,
Spoke to his school teacher the other night and he told me,
that when I watched him,he played him up front, most times.
Hayden only played up to the age of 8 for brentwood,
    then went on to southend.
Dobson and Lipman both went to Brentwood private.
    Harry I know well.

  33. Lee says:

Lukas Podolski has already made his debut for Inter Milan after a swift early loan move became one of the big transfer window deals.

The German international had incredibly failed to start a single Premier League game all year, and was growing increasingly frustrated on the sidelines.

In early December, Podolski netted two goals in a 4-1 Champions League win away to Galatasaray, and says his treatment afterwards made up his mind to leave Arsenal.

He told The Sun: “Wenger said to me I was the best finisher at the club. Let me play, then. If you always play ten or 15 minutes, you can show nothing. I was coming on at either 0-0 or 2-0 or 3-0 down.

“The big moment was after the Champions League game. I played a very good game against Galatasaray and then I was on the bench again. I knew I had to move.”

Podolski was overlooked for five subsequent matches against Newcastle, Liverpool, QPR and West Ham, and Southampton, with Wenger claiming he had a hamstring problem for the Saints loss.

The World Cup winner had every right to be frustrated, particularly for the West Ham game in which Olivier Giroud was suspended.

The clash at home to Newcastle would have been an ideal time to put him straight in while his confidence was high after the Galatasaray game, but really, it should not even have been an issue and Podolski should have been getting game time in the league far before then – and now he has a great opportunity to show the club what they are missing out on.

  34. scottfromoz says:

Wenger takes a set and that’s it…the player may as well leave.
I said it recently, he must put his ego aside and pick the best players.
    Morning Lee.

  35. Lee says:

Seems not Potter….. and played Sanogo in front of him a few times, that’d hurt, a bloke that couldn’t trap a bag of cement getting in the team and you not!!! Beggars belief….cue the happy clappers!

  36. tsgh says:

Lets not forget, Poldi is a lazy but talented player who still thinks he just won the best young FIFA award in 2006…
He hardly put in the shift as a LW and was not strong or mobile enough as a lone striker…

The only alternative was for him to be played behind another striker which unfortunately AW for whatever reason was not so keen on because of AW trying to accomodate JW, AR16, SC19 etc..

Don’t get me wrong AW is vindictive and does not condone certain persnalities in the dressing room who don’t appear to be all about football like him…

Poldi, has always ran when he has been challenged. Last summer he could have joined S04 but he knew he might fight for his place as well so he decided not to…

Which Gundogan? the İlkay of 2.5 years ago was almost world class but since coming back from injury taking over Jojics place in the BVB squad, even Klopp’s reputation/judgment has been questioned since the player is not the same….

  37. Wath says:

Morning Adam, Ts, Bt and all…..

A belated Happy New Yr from me….. Technical issues am afraid and also just needed a holiday lol

  38. Bt62 Gooner says:

If people would stop feeding and massaging AW ego you might have a chance, Scott..
Until that happens it’s it’s all pie in the sky…
    Happy New Year, Mr.Wath….

    Morning all…

  39. Lee says:

Hummels earns enough at Dortmund: Manchester United’s hopes of landing Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels have been hit after the Germany international said he is happy at the Bundesliga club and his family life in Germany. United are desperate for defensive reinforcements and manager Louis van Gaal is thought to be interested in the centre-back, with a view to a move in January. But the Daily Mail reports that the World Cup winner thinks he earns enough cash where he is, loves his life in Dortmund with his girlfriend Cathy and wider family, and is not tempted by a big-money move to Old Trafford. He told Bundesliga Magazine International: “We earn enough here…I believe that’s enough for me.”

  40. Bt62 Gooner says:

Roberto Martinez after 18 months in charge at Everton, has launched an investigation into why they are suffering so many injuries mainly hamstring. Some personnel changes have already taken place, hard to believe anyone would do that after only 18 months in charge…

  41. tsgh says:

Happy New year to you too Wath…
    Another holiday,?
Isn’t your lifestyle nothing but a beach holiday? :d

  42. scottfromoz says:

    Wath is back!!
Ginge, I wanted Podolski at Arsenal long before he joined.
Everything you say is right, but Wenger should have known what he was getting at the time and used him accordingly.
Five yards of space and a little time… Podolski hits the target.
Why oh why try and make him run his arse off?
Another instant of Wenger trying make something out of something else, IMO.

  43. Bt62 Gooner says:

Ts, what’s your take on this Carvalho fellow?

Seen him play a few times and wasn’t overly impressed, seems to pick up a lot of cards.

  44. scottfromoz says:

Aussies 3, Kuwait 1 and we are ripping them a new one.
Cahill and Jedinak on the scoresheet as well as one hell of a talented young guy…..Luongo.
We have some decent kids come through 🙂

  45. tsgh says:

Exactly Scott… to combat those deficiencies we needed 2 Ramsey-types or proper DM to cover the likes of SC19 and Poldi who are played on the wings who are not natural athletes but hey…

Bt- I am sure you know my views on WC.. I never rate him… he is a nice player and all but I think his style of play wont be suitable to the EPL.
He seems to need to much time on the ball…

Of all the portuguese imports to this leage in the last 10 years only CR07, Carvalho the chavs defender and maybe 1 or 2 others have done well..

Matic is different as he was schooled in the English academy before he moved over there briefly..

The likes of Postiga, Boa Monte.. well… lol

  46. Joe says:

So Wenger refutes an article printed in the sun so maybe he’s not as bad as people seem to think and there’s no need to blame the ref.
