Better than Bergkamp? Records smashed for Ozil. Viviano signed up too, but is it enough?

Morning all.

What a drag yesterday was.

The night before, the Mesut Ozil to Arsenal rumours started to do the rounds not long after Bale had officially joined Real Madrid. That story gather pace as the day progressed and then finally, Sky Sports flicked over to their reporter in Germany and he confirmed the player was undergoing a medical prior to a move to London….

Another story related to Italian  international goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano on a season-long loan. This confirmation came first but we had to wait until late afternoon before AFC.com finally confirmed the deal.

The 6′ 5″ 27-year-old, spent last term on loan at Fiorentina, where he kept 11 clean sheets in 32 league appearances.

Arsène Wenger said:

Viviano is a player that we have rated for some time and we are very pleased to have signed him on loan. He’s experienced and has proved himself at a high level, and provides us with excellent cover to our existing goalkeepers.

I’m not quite sure we signed him to be honest, not if what Arsene Wenger says is true. At 27 years old and hoping to play for Italy, why would he join us just to be competition for the two we already have?

Surely this guy wants to be number one by now? Watching that situation unfold will be interesting to say the least.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not unhappy that we have signed a keeper, not one bit. Just Viviano is an odd choice imho.

So that was one in, albeit on loan.

Next rumour surrounded Demba Ba, followed later by Javier Pastore – the latter, a 6′ 2″ attacking midfielder from PSG. Suggestion was that the French side wanted Juan Mata and if they were successful, they’d consider selling us Pastore.

8.25pm, Chelsea confirm that they would not let Demba bar join us. Where would Arsene Wenger turn to sign a much needed striker?

Well, forty minutes later, we had our answer. Nik Bendtners proposed move to Crystal Palace was postponed just in case Wenger couldn’t find another option before the deadline…. Shocking!!

Finally, just before 10.30pm, the news we all waited for, broke.

Arsenal FC had signed Mesut Ozil… Phew.

Record Breaker..
Record Breaker..

A top top class signing and apart from Bale, the biggest signing of this summer transfer window and he’s ours and he’s thrilled:

I am thrilled to be joining a club of the stature of Arsenal and am looking forward to playing in the Premier League. It will be great for my own personal development as a player and I am particularly looking forward to working with Arsène Wenger.

From our negotiations it is clear the Club has huge ambition and I look forward to being part of an exciting future.

Funny really that he should say ‘exciting future’ – that’s something which clearly RVP was not told as he suggested our future plans were the very reason he was seeking glory elsewhere. Maybe he was just too old to wait for that future to arrive.

Arsene Wenger is also very very pleased to have got his man:

We are extremely pleased to have signed Mesut Ozil. He is a great player, with proven quality at both club and international level. We have watched and admired him for some time as he has all the attributes I look for in an Arsenal player

I have said throughout the summer that we have been working hard to bring in top quality players to this football club. This has involved many many people across the Club and I have always had the full support of the Club in making decisions on the football side.

Mesut is a top quality footballer who will be a fantastic addition to our talented squad. We are all looking forward to him joining up with us after his international matches with Germany and working with us as an Arsenal player.

So are we Arsene, so are we…..

But whilst I am thrilled that we have signed such a wonderfully exciting player, who by all accounts turned down PSG, I am very disappointed that we didn’t show a bit more ambition. Just signing a striker, a goal machine would make so much difference as if Olivier Giroud suffers an injury we are back to Sanogo, Park and Bendtner.

Maybe January will see the top striker arrive, maybe Ozil is just the start of many world class players who will now be signed up by Arsene Wenger?

In Ozil we have a player whose ‘assists’ are only outnumbered by Messi, we have a player who will now stop the media/press from writing silly stories about how tight the club are as this deal totally smashed any previous record signing made by us. In fact it’s the second highest signing on fee paid by a Premier league club for any player, Torres to Chelsea sits above it.

We have a player who many an opposition will fear, a player who others around will learn from and a player who will lift the spirits of all those around him……

A truly world class, outstanding player and he’s ours. I’d actually say he’s the most exciting signing since David Dein confirmed Dennis Bergkamp, maybe even better as the great Dutchman was struggling with his game when we signed him.

If Mesut Ozil can get anywhere near to matching the great career Dennis Bergkamp had with us, we are in for a few treats….

Just a shame we couldn’t get that striker…….

On a final note, Highbury House records were smashed yesterday too, the comments went over the 1000 mark, thanks to all of you who stayed to see the events of the day unfold…

What a day….

Thank goodness the window is now shut!

Looking at Ozil’s assists for Real it seems that he created many tap ins for CR7 arriving at pace. Entirly possible that it will be Walcott who benefits most from Ozil this season and I can see him scoring a lot of goals, so perhaps the disappointment at not landing the top, top striker won’t prove so bad.

  2. Lee says:

Not adding a striker is lunacy imho.
Still ho hum it is what is, we got to get on with it and get behind the team! COYG & foys!

  3. devilgunner says:

Morning Lady, Sir, Gentlemen and Ladies.

Nice post Rico. One to make us smile.

MG…..its this season which counts now not last. 18 points last season mean nothing. At the moment we are just 3 points of 1st place and we have added one of the top AM around. yes we lack another striker and another defender but for heaven’s sake…lets not knock the season yet.

  4. agirlagunner says:

Good morning, rico!! We’ll get someone in January. We have to. The squad is still very thin. Yay to the 1000 ++ comments.

And 6 million hits quite soon!!! Wow!

  5. rico says:

    Morning Mg and all..

I don’t think it’s been a good transfer window either. We needed 4/5 players at the beginning of it, we got 3. One of which is not a PL player yet, in fact he should be on loan imho.

I knocked the Flamini signing but right now I am sure glad he signed because we be snookered without him.

My huge concern now is an injury to Giroud would see us really struggle to find goals.

Not gett a striker is a huge mistake, chasing Ba so late in the window was a mistake too, why not contact Chelsea much earlier if that’s who AW really wanted.

Suggestion is we were knocked back for Benteke and Rooney on DD, no surprise there as how could either club sign a replacement.

All this comes about because we left it all too late, Ozil was only ever going to be after bale signed for Real but other targets should have been in a lot earlier…

  6. malaga gooner says:

ginge you said yesterday that gustarvo said wenger told him his place was not 100%certain but surely that is same for every player,no players has a right to be a starter, they have to fight for a place.

  7. rico says:

    Not so BigS 😉

Absolutely Lee, apart from Nik and Park, everyone who is here is ‘wanted’ by us fans, from now on it’s get behind those players the same as we all did on Sunday..

It’s not their fault AW didn’t sign a striker.

Can’t wait for the Sunderland game….

  8. wardy says:

PROOF YOU CAN’T PLAESE ALL THE PEOPLE ALL THE TIME.
WHY ARE PEOPLE FIXATED ON A STRIKER WHEN WE ARE IN BIGGER NEED OF MUSCLE DEFENSIVELY (IN MIDFIELD)
IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO GIROUD WE COULD PLACE OZIL ON THE RIGHT AND THEO DOWN TH MIDDLE. NOT ALL BAD.
WHY CAN’T WE JUST BASK IN THE GLORY OF THE CLUBS BIGGEST SIGHNING IN DECADES? INSTEAD PEOPLE (INCLUDING FANS) DECIDE TO THROUGH IN A “BUT“

  9. agirlagunner says:

    Devil, well-done on yesterday’s post. 🙂 🙂 Hola, Lee!!

Malaga, well, it may not be a raving success but it’s not a complete failure either. 😉

  10. tsgh says:

    Morning again all,

A fine post fine and a good read too…

Mg, calm down buddy… Flamini is far better than Gustavo. Just because he played for Brazil does not make him good imho…

Santos has 2 to 4 times more caps than Willian, Fernandinho and Gustavo…

I have repeated it a few times, Gustavo only played in the Confed cup because Sandro and Ramires were injured.

I watch enough Bundesliga to know he is past his best,

  11. rico says:

Fh, a few said similar here yesterday, let’s hope that proves to be the case.

    Morning agag, devil, thanks

Anything Arsenal can do we can do better agag 😉

  12. devilgunner says:

    yes and no Rico.

Your arguments show that yes it was not a successful window. We should have wrapped our signings earlier. Another defender and a striker should have been added.

However this TW and last year were two successful ones as well.

We got Cazorla, Podolski, Giroud, Ozil, Flamini and Viviano. That is 6players, half a team of the 1st 11. And they are all an upgrade on what we had the season before with RVP and SOng.

but yes, something better should have been done.

  13. malaga gooner says:

devil,im just not happy,we could have done a lot more.
    where was the transfer strategy.
what if bales transfer collapsed,it does happen.

  14. Tommy says:

Well 18 points behind last season, doesnt mean we Will be that this season, manutd lost their most important asset in Ferguson.

  15. BigSanty says:

Ps no more complain Malaga Gooner, have we not gotten the Top quality & marquee Player we so much sought in Ozil? Believe ♏ε̲̣̣̣̥ Wenger has just pulled one of those signing none expect & least we need is complain but to applaud him. Top striker will come January & will be quality too as Ozil signing has paved way in quality players considering Arsenal as ambitious club now. So common give your support to the Team now as the best is yet to come. Blazing Gunner for Life!

  16. devilgunner says:

    you are right MG.

But Bale’s transfer did not so we cannot comment on that.

We can only comment on what has occurred now.

Imo between us and RM we have got the better deal in Ozil than RM have had in Bale.

Mark my words………Bale will be found out. yes he has lots of attributes but his presence in the RM will create more discord than harmony.

  17. ozgunner says:

morning all – very surprised to rise this morning and find one addition. A luxury item as well seeing all the mid-fielders we have on our books? So we spend all summer trying for a striker and end up asking Chelsea to lend us one and help us out? Let me say, Ozil is a super player who was pressured out of Madrid to assist them balance their books, his stats are great but they are achieved with the assistance of people like Ronaldo so lets not put to much pressure on him. Wenger’s whole summer has been about numbers and a thin squad, coupled with chasing Suarez and telling everyone we could afford Rooney, little confused here. There is still no physical presence in this midfield and we’re one injury away from Bendtner?? The fact we cancelled his deal with Palace is simply embarrassing to me and should be to the deal makers. Where the needs properly addressed or a band aid applied?

  18. rico says:

    Thanks Ts

Gustavo past his best? He’s only young and you write him off already, poor kid.. 😉

Thanks all I am saying Devil, it could have been so much better but it isn’t and until we all see how the next few games/results go, only then will we really see whether the transfer window was a good one or not..

One thing Ozil will do is really give the players a boost, much more than signing Arshavin did. We all know this little guy is a world class player, a true world class player….

  19. Savage says:

Really excited to see how Ozil links with Giroud and Theo.

We already have top strikers at the club, and Ozil will raise their game.

Not only that, but get this: Wenger will improve Ozil.

  20. ktr7 says:

Yeeeeeeessssss!!!…Get in my son…the best signing eveeeeerrrr!!!…welcome to Arsenal Almunia’s Italian brother Viviano.am in tears right now…

  21. malaga gooner says:

ginge i dont think gustarvo is all that either i was just giving you an example of the way wenger acts.
i do not hate wenger i just wish he would let his hair down and have a session in the transfer market.

  22. devilgunner says:

on the Ozil – Bale debate even Ginge agrees with me as he said on yesterday’s post……….

A few on here believed a proper no.10 is more crucial for us than a striker.

And thankfully, Ozil is one of the last of a dying breed of no.10 in the mold of Gheorghe Hagi, Valderama, Laudrup, Gullit, Viali, DB10 and there I say Maradona. Players do not come out of the football factory like him anymore…

There was never any guarantee Suarez would fit in. I will take Ozil above Bale, Mata and even Pastore any day. Only Lavezzi may be as good as a no.10 but he won’t have given the regular gooner the same buzz as Ozil..

I believe Akpom will score for us.. AW will make Sanogo good. Even B-52 will do a very good job for us. He was very good for Sunderland the year before to get a loan deal with the Old Lady…

There is no point in seething.. we have what we have now and it is far far better than what we had on Sunday.

  23. rico says:

    Oz, Ozil a luxury?? Seriously?

Not in my view, he’s a ‘first on the team sheet’ player, he’s no luxury..

Going for Ba on loan makes me think Wenger wants someone, he’s just not ready to sign him yet…

  24. agirlagunner says:

    Glass half-full, Devil. 😀

    Hear, hear, Big Santy.

rico, but of course!! Shame it is interlull yet again. Ick. ;?

  25. tsgh says:

Mg, there is no guarantee even Suarez would have fitted in…
As it has been stated previously by a few on here, the mental effect Ozil brings to the squad will be phenomenon..

For the first time since 2005, we will have a proper no.10 in his prime… Cesc tried to play as a no.10 but he was more of an old fashioned no.8… not quite the same.

We will also be able to field players like Sagna, BFG,Arteta, Flamini, SC19 (maybe), Poldi, Ramsey, TRO7 and OZil who are tactically very sound…

The performance against Fulham scored people… even Pep commented on our midfield and we know Klopp also did.

Mauren-yo got scared afterwards and Rednose knew last year our midfield would be very fluid.

    Have some faith guys.

Fergie gave Yanited at least 12 points a season… that means if our crowd can back the team to win 2 more games at home than we did last season we will be up there with the best of them… imho…

  26. Adam says:

Morning Rico and all. Ozil is a great signing but, otherwise, an opportunity lost and a sad indictment on what those concerned have been doing for the last 3 months.

  27. ktr7 says:

Good read rico.its such a shame that we couldn’t get that ST we desperately needed but in midfield:
Oezil/Rosicky/Santi Arteta/Flamini/Ox ramsey/wilshere is pretty incredible depth if all are fit including diaby.i doubt there is a club in England that beats that…just check MUFC’s options 🙂
I too wanted a physically commanding midfielder but so far in the season Wenger has showed that he prefers us to defend by staying compact limiting space in between the lines.

  28. rico says:

I hate the international breaks agag, but at least with this one, we signed off having beaten the scum and now we’ve signed a world class Ozil. Just hope all our boys come back unscathed…

Is it one match or two?

  29. devilgunner says:

    I have Rico.

And his performances in the league last season were good.

He has also played 6 times for the national team and with Buffon around that is a good amount.

He is calm and very directive.

Let’s hope he adapts to the EPL.

  30. agirlagunner says:

rico, I really do think we’ll go back for LS in January. 🙂 I’d have like Ba around, but that is not to be now. Just happy to be basking in the sunshine of the Ozil deal.

KT, you happy? Good morning, Oz!!

  31. tsgh says:

Dev- I agree with you totally that the window could have been a bit better BUT it has been very good in my view.

Flamini can play in 3 positions and his time with the likes of Seedorf, Gatuso, DB10, Keown must rub off on the likes of Ramsey.
Ozil can play in 3 positions and even as a striker in a false 9 role.

Players like Serge, Ryo can only learn from Ozil… The BFG will ensure OZil settles very well in the team too…

We now have players like Ramsey and JW who will play through pain and muscle pulls to win for us…

May I say it again (Micko) Cesc use to hide from such physicalities in his last 18 months as he wanted to stay firt after March to move away…

  32. devilgunner says:

    ………….oh yes he would mate.

He would be teaching you the method of PROBABILITY. To see the probability of your predictions coming true. 😉

  33. rico says:

    I’ll forgive you Oz 😉

Morning Adam, that’s how I feel too, a huge missed opportunity to really build on what we have….

  34. Charles says:

Am happy, but mourinho did let BA join us because he consider us rivals..the last time I checked he said ‘there is nothing wrong in selling to a rival club ‘ because he wants Rooney.

  35. ozgunner says:

agag morning to you! No doubt Ozil is a big signing and we are all delighted with that – would have loved to see a quality striker brought in as Giroud has no pressure at all now, not good at this level and should not exist. Might even buy an Ozil 11 shirt now 🙂

  36. SD UK says:

Guys guys guys we got Ozil,

Real Madrid’s 20000 fans were shouting for Ozil not to go while £85mil Bale was still trying to perfect his only 8 keepy – uppies on the pitch (i am sure somebody will interpret for him)

We have a solid player now that will inspire Ramsey Wilshire and even Walcott , I am sure the happiest person will be Carzola, he now has somebody to do tricks with.

Plus he will fit in easily, with 1/3 of the team now German (who saw that coming ? )

I can confidently say we have the best midfield in the PL and they are a solid unit (Barcelona anyone ?).

The other good thing is, thank God we signed Flamini and he looks to be up for the fight.

Trust me Wenger definitely planned this all along,

  37. rico says:

Thanks Devil. I have a feeling he’s not here to play second fiddle, Ches will be looking over his shoulder and that’s got to be good..

I’m surprised Fabianski didn’t move – or maybe he’s willing to see out his contract and move in the summer…

I know emma believes we need 3 keepers, but when did we last have 3 keepers of a similar standard as we have today.

  38. ozgunner says:

my hope is Ozil will bring the best out of Walcott to be honest and assist him to raise his game to the next level. I fully expect Walcott to be the biggest winner along with us fans of course

  39. rico says:

Einstein – who is saying they are not happy with us signing Ozil. Maybe you should read the comments a little more carefully before making such a daft suggestion..

  40. Adam says:

Agreed Rico. When life or football provides an opportunity that you are well fixed to take, it is folly to let it slip. Wenger was trying to be too clever leaving it so late and time ran out. A serious bid for Benteke, before he signed his extension might have been a smart move but that would have involved sharp thinking and mobility. Things that our club lack as the powers within spend their time engaged in pointless squabbling, in-fighting and schoolboy power struggles.

  41. ktr7 says:

Oezil isn’t a luxury…in 105 games at madrid he created 324 chances.there is a reason why Ronaldo scores so many tap ins.I visited Barca blogs yesterday and they were ecstatic with the news since Ronaldo is going to be the most affected by this move.I said earlier in the summer that a no.10 should be a priority and am happy we have one.

I’ve seen fans say he wasn’t needed…BS.we struggle to create chances these days compared to when we had Fabregas.if you have such a player who can do that you don’t need to suicidally commit more men forward.our defence will funny enough improve due to this.he is as good a signing as you can get.

  42. rico says:

Oz – Walcott could have had 2/3 goals against the Totts but imho, the ball played to him for those chances were slightly heavy, giving Lloris a chance to smother them.

Ozil will hopefully play those passes with more precision and let TW do the rest…

Actually, maybe that is the plan, TW will finally move central and stay there 😉

  43. S2S says:

    Hey guys,

Was up till 2.30 to catch Ozil announcement and just after I went to bed they did it. I’d admit, I’ve hardly seen him play. Don’t get much time to see games other than ours, so I am not as hysterical as every one but by the looks of it we’ve got a great deal and remember the figures are thrown out by just media and not club and I think we’ve got him cheaper than what every one thinks.

    @ Rico,

About that Striker, I am sure Nik B will fit in superbly till Jan window opens up. He has 10 months on his contract and he badly needs new employer to support his life style. He’s gonna have rocket up his arse and would score a lot this season. Just my opinion.

P.S. Is it true that Ozil and Poldi don’t get along that well?

  44. tsgh says:

Hiya Kt, I am pleased as you are.

On the DM- AR16 won more tackles in the 2nd consecutive game ahead of any other top DM in the world..
Flamini will be our best against teams like Juve or Chelsea.

Just imagine Ramsey/TR07 and Flamini/frimps even hounding down players like Oscar or Kehl
We all know Ozil does not really play or feature for 90 minutes in games but he knows AW will make him a better player…

How many players in teams winning F all and finishing 3rd or 4th have their players continuously nominated for European Best Player awards?

  45. ktr7 says:

Madrid fans are fuming…i’ve seen some wish perez died.tye prospect of wenger improving Oezil even further is quite scary.

  46. devilgunner says:

I had already commentedabout him this morning Rico, in my run up to 1000 comments. I can assure you he is not here to play second fiddle.

Regarding Fabianski I commented as well.

I feel he will be allowed to leave in January so that he can challenge for the gk place in the Polish team. Especially if Viviano plays and he does not.

  47. rico says:

SD – he may have planned Ozil, but what about his plans for a striker?

Last day bidding for Benteke and Rooney was never going to bare fruit, but had we made very good offers for both a couple of months ago, we would have probably got one or the other…

Moyes would have sold to us if we are to believe what filtered through the press, just not to Chelsea.

  48. malaga gooner says:

respect adam,i left school when i was 14.
if you cant understand my posts fair enough.people like you make me sick

  49. ktr7 says:

ts am quite happy with him.
I saw a stat that says Ramsey has won 100% of his tackles 12/12…the best anywhere.he will supplement Ozil similar to how Khedira supplements him.

  50. rico says:

Ts – and that’s not me being critical either, just the finer detail of our game. Lloris looked good but we made him look good with our through ball.

I hate saying ‘some might’ but I bet there were fans who thought TW should have fought more for the ball but I’d disagree, he would have got injured I suspect.

I’ll agree he’s far too static and gets far too close to the player with the ball and seldom makes the right run off that player but give him a proper sniff at goal and 7 times out of 10 I think he’d bury it…

  51. rico says:

Adam, re your earlier, I would have loved us to sign Benteke, I really would and totally agree that when he said he wanted to move on, we should have been right in there with a proper offer.

Sadly we were given false hope on Suarez…

  52. ozgunner says:

and i hope the correct ball in the right place might see him have a very good goal scoring year Rico – hello Ozil!

  53. tsgh says:

Rico- AW will make Theo as feared as Robben or Muller by next summer.

I agree with Ozil and his left peg hmmm. sweet.

I can’t wait to see us smash BVB. Kehl the german Gareth Barry will be scared to death when Ramsey and Ozil charge on him…

  54. rico says:

Thanks Devil, could be all a little too late for him by Jan. Ches has been pretty solid the last few games, I reckon he knew a keeper was coming in. Just what we all wanted, proper competition for a young man who has a bit of an ego. Channel that ego in the right place and he’ll be a lot better…

Another scenario which will be interesting to watch as it plays out..

  55. tsgh says:

Some might is my fave phrase that seems to cheese a few off… any suggestion on alternatives will be appreciated. 😛

  56. S2S says:

I still think if we get through the group stages of CL and are any where near the top of the league we’d go all out for Suarez again. If you remember AW said that we’d talk about LS07 some other time. I guess he still wants him.

  57. SD UK says:

    We will be fine

Wenger should just be clever and not go for all competitions we don’t have enough players.

We don’t need a defender , Verminator will be back and Flamini and Sagna will cover if needed.

Short on a striker but we should be fine till Podolski comes back.

@ S2S : Podolski tweeted throughout yesterday about his excitement of signing Ozil, he even re-tweeted other people’s tweets. I think they are fine , if not , Ozil wouldn’t come.

  58. Mesutro ozil says:

I can only but say perfect TW so far…Kudoz to AW he has given us an edge over other epl teams in our TOP TOP QUALITY BUT NOT QUANTITY SIGNING. ozil wil complement the present quality we ve got…
    viviano/sz
    jenko/BS…PM..KOZ…GIBO/NM
    FLAMINI
    TW……RAMBO….SANTI
    M.OZIL
    O.G =VICTORY
    bencH
    Fabian…Wilshere…Frimpong…Zalalem…Gnaby..Nik bend…Sagna…

  59. rico says:

I think so Adam, maybe there was little planning. But yes, too late now and we have to get behind who we have..

The next big announcement must be due very soon….

  60. c2hills says:

    Morning rico and all.

Thank goodness the transfer window is over and am out of my partial hibernation.

    Mesut of Öz eh? Brilliant.
Hope Almunia isn’t back as an italian or, has the ban on cloning humans been lifted?

  61. Keith says:

Benteke’s coversion rate coupled with ozil’s chances created would have been a mouth watering prospect! I entirely agree that we should have signed Benteke. But still Ozil will bring Theo to the next level. I dont think the aquisition of Flamini should be underestimated….he is a superb tough tackling defensive midfielder with a lot of leadership qualities, and versatile also…a clever signing he will prove to be over the season

  62. GunnerDNA says:

Geoff Arsenal said on a podcast yesterday that AW contact city about Dzeko last week and they said no, i’m disappointed but i understand what AW was trying to do, spending 35 mil on Benteke was too risky, he honestly try, i wont knock him this time. I like the fact that AW is not willing to splash cash on players who are not quality anymore, its work in progress.

  63. tsgh says:

Benteke now has a 32 Million buy-out clause allegedly. I don’t know if it is £ or Euros…

AW rates Benteke highly, the issue is that tehre were initial fears he was not high profile enough to spend £30M on…

I believe in January that may be possible if Av are in a decent position in the league…

  64. ktr7 says:

“He is the best No 10 in the world.
Everyone loves him and sees a bit of Luis
Figo and Zinedine Zidane in him,” –
    Mourinho on Ozil.

Mourinho knows this is a game changer and i believe he screwed us over with Ba as a result.if we stay clear of injuries and we get our players back i think we’ll be 5 points or less from the top in January.Since we have cash we’ll go all out for a ST and maybe 1 or 2 others.if our 11 stay healthy…

  65. tsgh says:

AFC fans can watch Mesut Özil play for Germany in their World Cup qualifier against Austria on Friday at 7.45pm on BT Sport 2.

  66. devilgunner says:

Adam makes me sick as well.

his intelligence is of nauseatic proportions.

and his grasp of the English language demoralises my intestines so much that they start diarrhoeating before I actually manage to sit on the loo.

    😆

  67. tsgh says:

Dna, I also heard AW asked Manuel to inquire about Suarez so we can get Dzeko… I don’t know what happened there…

  68. ktr7 says:

Theo must be smiling from ear to ear now.he knows if he makes a run buggy eyes will find him.when theo starts scoring he will not stop and i bet he beats his last year’s tally of goals and assists.

  69. vernat1066 says:

Hi, I think Ozil is a superb signing however the squad is short on depth so perhaps AW will look at a change in formation if we get any injuries up top as he has abundant talent in the midfield.

I have to admit it has been nice to see a little more tactical flexibility at Arsenal and with the versatility of Cazorla, Rosicky and Ozil we could adapt even more and not be so easy to read and set up against?

  70. Keith says:

Tsgh: I think you may be right..if benteke continues to progress this season then I think Wenger would pay that amount for him, especially as he is still only 23!

  71. ozgunner says:

ktr7 plenty agree with you on the Ba assumption mate, the fact we were trying to borrow again with 100m in the bank did my head in somewhat haha!

  72. Scott from Oz says:

    Morning all.
I will remain the sole voice arguing we got exactly the player we need.
The transfer of Ozil means, in my most himle opinion, that our dire need of a striker is now null and void.
This guy will make our strikers/forwards look better than ever, and the entire club will prosper because of it.
    What a signing!!
    THE perfect buy, imo.

  73. tsgh says:

One side of Ozil’s game he will work on under AW is his goal return. Currently he sits at 1 in 5 roughly… 1 in 4 will be superb.

  74. Woody says:

    Morning all!

I’m feeling happier this morning than I did last night. I don’t think we can be too disappointed with the window in the end.

Everyone who was on last night will know I wanted a striker as well and that would have been amazing, but I think we will get one in January.

Maybe Wenger wants to bring in 3-4 payers now, which he has done and let them integrate in to the squad before adding another 1-2 in January.

Let’s look at Spurs on Sunday. A load of good players that didn’t know how to play together. This could work well for us.

If we can get through until January, we might get another little boost which will be good for both fans and players.

For now we have Giroud, Sanogo, Poldi (when fit), Walcott, Bendtner – these 5 players have to see us through 4 months.

  75. Woody says:

Also, it could be the making of Giroud.

He’s started well, so let’s not stop him while he’s on a roll and by the January transfer window he might be proper settled and that would be the perfect time for another striker.

  76. ozgunner says:

playing the devils advocate Scott – he may be good but controlling injuries and suspensions he can’t do 🙂

  77. tsgh says:

Hiya Scott… I think you summarise perfectly what kt, Rico and Dev have all said in parts.

Ozil will make even Poldi score goals.

Lowe must be creaming at the prospect of AW improving Ozil for him for Brazil…

  78. bradster says:

Perhaps Giroud will have an RVP season of playing almost every game and not once injured.
Now there’s serious competition for the youngsters, Wilshere and Ox included. I won’t be surprised to see them on the wings.

  79. tsgh says:

Oz- Ozil’s injury record is better than Hig, and Di Maria’s. But our sick bay is quite a 7 star lodging so… 😛

  80. vernat1066 says:

As well as the main players it is a big season for two young players at the club, Gnabry and Ryo if they can step up and give us some cover for say between 10 – 15 games in all competitions this season it will make a big difference to the squad.

  81. Scott from Oz says:

I will add another player or two would have been icing, but damn, what a cake!!!
We all had ideas and hopes, but who honestly thought we would get a guy of this quality?
    Incredible.

  82. ktr7 says:

ts I bet klopp knows that our CL tie has gotten so much harder with Oezil in the side. Our midfield has got very intelligent players to adopt almost any kind of setup and we’ll be much harder to read now.If we are in touching distance in the league in January and in the CL KO Wenger will gi for it by buying again in January.I bet our scouts are busy searching for those options.

Also with Oezil signing it pretty much nails Wilshere to playing a deep role for pretty much the near future.

  83. tsgh says:

German spent less money than the rest of the top 5 European leagues but I bet they will have a team in the semi’s of the CL at least…

The EPl spent 3 times more than the Germans and 1.5 times more than La liga. If you consider net spend then La liga spent less than Germany… wow

  84. SD UK says:

    Question ?

Would RVP have signed for Manure Utd , if he knew Fergie was going to resign ?

😀 he is now stock with Moyes

Morinho can keep Ba , Sanogo might surprise us , Podolski should show him London so he can loosen up , he seem tensed.

    We will be alright.

How funny the effect a single player can have on a club.

Arsenal gained the most in this transfer window.

    Man Shity looks shaky

    Chelsea still experimenting

Moyes not sure how to coach Manure Utd

Spuds are oing to feel the sale of Bale

So we will see how it unfolds

  85. bradster says:

This interlull feels like home. Bought a new set of golf clubs last week but been too busy to see how it improves my game.

  86. tsgh says:

Arteta, Vermaelen, Szczesny and Mertesacker’s contract run out in 2 yrs allegedly.

Bacary Sagna should get a new 2 year extension. Rosicky should get another year too. TR07 deserves an extension too…

I will get Arteta on the coaching staff immediately to coach the u-18’s some tactical awareness…

  87. c2hills says:

Someone please explain to me how RM can let go of Özil and by Bale? Isn’t that testing positive for stupidity. Moreover there’s the price thing too.

  88. vernat1066 says:

With next year being a world cup year, it should be easier to sign players in January as those who are not playing enough will be more likely to move to try and get into their national squads perhaps?

Reports today that Podolski is out for three months with hamstring so it looks like we are going to have to rely on OG staying fit and and also when we rest him or he is not available look at playing a different formation?

  89. Wasiu says:

Morning all, me thinks AW’s failure to address the DM position properly is due largely to a change in footballing philosophy despite being one of the managers that promoted this role he’s ditched it. Instead of the lone destroyer it is now 2 ball playing anchors capable of breaking up play and also creating goals. Only flamini in this squad represents a specialist DM and he was signed as part cover at RB given sagna’s CB’s leanings. Diaby is no DM he has hardly played there for us. To butress my arguement Song’s last season at afc suggests a ‘dm’ that was doing a lot more than cover the back 4, hence the high number of bodies in CM at the club

  90. ktr7 says:

I agree on his goal return ts.Wenger will help him improve in due course.even santi had never scored more than 10 goals in a single season in his entire career before he came here.he has the quality to reach 20 goals imho.

What I also really like about Oezil is his gaming intelligence.he is always scanning the pitch assessing his options.he is like an olympic fencer in that regard.he’ll make his teammates much better than they really are;similar to how fabregas made Adebayor look WC.the santi/Oezil axis is going to be as creative a duo as you can get anywhere in Europe.

am still pinching myself since i can’t believe he is ours…i can’t wait to actually see him play for us..

  91. tsgh says:

CH, Perez works on shirt sales… the reason Robben, Van Der Fart, Sneider were all sold. Even Eto too…
I am hearing Ozil became available only as a result of Adidas not offering much to RM’s accounts 2 weeks ago.

  92. Scott from Oz says:

Spurs fans must really be devastated.
Their selling off of their best player has allowed us to buy a truly world class player.
They have brought in some decent guys, but none of the class of Bale or Ozil.
And they have been laughing at us over the last few years.

  93. tsgh says:

Bale will leave in 2 years time for £40M back to Yanited me think…

RM will be making 600M euro’s in revenue next year… almost 350M more than us… Wow

  94. rico says:

Don’t usually bother to watch Germany play, might have to on Friday or record and watch whilst ironing on a later day…. 😉

  95. Woody says:

I don’t mind Jack in the deeper role for now. He tends to get further forward than either Arteta or Ramsey, playing his little 1-2’s as he pushes forward, so I’m not too bothered about the defensive midfield positions now.

We will have either Arteta, Flamini or Ramsey in the deepest role. Mainly Arteta and Flamini.

In fact if you look at our midfield 3 we have real competition:

There are 3 positions up for grab as follows:

    Deep lying: Arteta/Flamini
    Deep lying: Wilshere/Ramsey
    Behind Striker: Ozil/Carzorla/Rosicky

Of course, some could play wide as well, but that is healthy competition and I don’t see where another midfielder could fit in.

For me we’re in a position now where we probably do need a striker, but we are covered in all positions.

Any player that joins should also see a player leave. Straight up we will get a striker and lose Bendtner, but other than that who needs to be moved on and replaced with better quality?

  96. Scott from Oz says:

    Kt, i am buzzing mate.
    C2hills….morning mate.
Seriously….given even luck with injuries, we really can win he league.

  97. ktr7 says:

I now actually believe the rumours that Bale is an Arsenal fan…he helped us get Oezil 🙂 screwing over sp*rs in the process 🙂

  98. Mohammed Bhayat says:

I have been a massive Wenger fan but over the last few seasons through fustration and some of Wengers comments which haven’t helped matters at all that fustration got a lot more and this summer was the icing on the cake and I just couldn’t take any more after the villa game.

But and its a big BUT this signing is just amazing when I first heard about it before the Bale move I just dismissed it as a stupid rumour but then on Sunday when they reported on Sky Sports News that we were in advance talks I almost creamed myself thinking about him in an Arsenal Shirt sorry for that expression.

Although I totally agree that We needed a defender, DM, Winger, Striker I have to say this signing has surpassed everything I thought we could ever achieve and this isn’t like exactly like Bergkamp.

When Bergkamp came he came into a team who were very poor attacking wise and we are not, Ozil could really be the missing piece in our midfield that could really make the most of Carzola, Wilshire, and Ramsey. Another point is Bergkamp was signed as an Inter Milan flop, where as Ozil has signed as a guy how was a Madrid starter last season, who Mourinho, said is the best number 10 in the world, who when Bale was revealed the fans chanted ‘don’t sell Ozil’, who Xabi Alonso said ‘You don’t find players like him these days’ so there is a huge differnce the second massive differnce is that Real Madrid don’t sell players in their prime who are top level performers, and if someone can think of one please tell me but they did here and we managed to get him and regradless of the crap most of media tell you we beat PSG and Man U to get him, because your telling me a player like Ozil went up for sale and all the big clubs just sat round, course not that as believable and as Bentdner getting us a Hatrick against Napoli in the CL. So this now sends out shock waves in the football world and shows we mean business we could have easily gone and brought some young up and coming kid Like Daxler and spent big and Daxler could be just as good a player as Ozil but will that have the same effect, NO.

I know people are worried about other positions but I really think Wenger knew that when Bale went, Madrid would have to sell and had a few in mind and Levy knew this and therefore delyed the Bale transfer until after the NLD and the day before Transfer deadline leaving us no time to act, I no people will say Wenger could have brought others and I agree and Higuain is the first to come to mind, but lets not let that underestimate what a big move this is and what this means and lets understand the work that must be needed to get such a BIG name to Arsenal and applaud and apercitate it just as we have been so quick to critize the inactivity, and just as Bergkamp before him this could just be as David Dein put it with Bergkamp ‘the first brick in the wall’ and this season will be massive if we want to bulid on this.

    COME ON ARSENAL

  99. ktr7 says:

Sp*rs really are a gift from God.they spend a £100 mil but still can’t beat us.they have their best summer in terms of buys but also the worst in terms of selling their best player which allowed us to get a WC CAM.i love how things work themselves out 🙂

  100. Canadian Gooner says:

Good Morning to the Lady of the House and all fellow Gooners in residence.

Rico – Good article with a fair balance that I am sure represents the sentiments of many Gooners.

  101. tsgh says:

Hiya Cg… where have you been?lol

Isco, Mkhitaryan, Lamela, Mario Gomez PLUS Tevez, Strootman + Maher + Quintero + Villa all players who cost less than the Moyes trolley dash…. lol

  102. devilgunner says:

With the signing of Ozil I feel as if its the LOTR all over again…………

AW 1996 to 2004 The fellowship of the Ring.
AW 2005 to 2013 The two towers (Highbury and Ems) plus the breaking of the fellowship
AW 2013 to ???? The return of the King.

Believe me mates. This signing will leave devastating ripples. not immediately but hopefully for the next six years.

  103. devilgunner says:

    that is true Ginge.

quick get on the phone to Arsene!!!!

He can offer him a year’s contract plus he is a mate of TR07 if I amnot mistaken.

  104. ktr7 says:

I have seen opposition fans say that Oezil isn’t what we need.I’ve seen some suggest that he is even past his best!!!…they clearly don’t watch us much because he is just what we needed.

Its quite mind-blowing to think we may actually have the best player in the league in our ranks!!even our players agree since i saw through their tweete how happy they were with this signing.

  105. Canadian Gooner says:

I thought this was a joke when I first read it, but no, apparently it is true. The Totts offered Chelski Adebuymore in direct exchange for Torres.

Who said the Spuds don’t have a sense of humour or a sense of the absurd? If Maureen Yo wasn’t struck dumb by the shear audacity of the offer, he must have wet himself from laughing so hard. It seems second season syndrome is a recurring theme for poor poor Emmanuel. Such a shame it brings crocodile tears to my eyes.

  106. tsgh says:

Our clueless doctors need help imho…

After the euphoria of Mesut Ozil’s £42.5million transfer on deadline day, Arsenal have been dealt a major blow after being told Lukas Podolski faces three months out of action due to injury.

Arsenal’s medical staff were already resigned to losing the forward for between eight and 10 weeks, but their counterparts with the German national team have run further tests and insist Podolski faces even longer on the sidelines.

Dr Hans-Muller Wohlfahrt, who conducted Ozil’s medical on behalf of Arsenal with the playmaker in Germany ahead of his country’s World Cup qualifier against Austria on Friday, delivered the news to the Gunners on Tuesday.

  107. Canadian Gooner says:

S2S – Regarding Ozil and Podolski, I’m sure I read that they are actually good buddies in the Germany squad.

  108. agirlagunner says:

Mind your heart rate, KT. 😛

Hello again! Hi, CG! where were you yesterday, HH was buzzing? 🙂

ginge, love the pic. To be fair, Ozil looks happy. I remember Robin’s photos with Fergie when he was presented as a United player. He looked to be in agonized constipation. 😀 😀

  109. rico says:

Yes Ch, women can multi task and I don’t even burn anything 😉

Popping off again – busy one today, backs shortly though…

  110. Canadian Gooner says:

Ginge – There may not have been time for Arsenal to book Podolski in for an MRI scan before he had to report for international duty. The quotes I saw from Arsene said he wouldn’t know for sure, how long he would be out, until they had the opportunity for a full diagnostic scan.

  111. Canadian Gooner says:

Sister AGAG after having stayed up all night and into the next afternoon checking every feed I could find for news of Arsenal’s deadline day dealings, I was tired and my brain was fried. I NEEDED SLEEP!

  112. ktr7 says:

Özil: “In Madrid, only the Spanish are
valued. In 3 years there, they never
chanted my name. In Isco’s first game,
    they chanted for him”

we’ll chant our throats off for you mesut…you are our simba from the lion king 🙂 we only need BFG to raise you above his head during one sunset on the roof of the Emirates to signify the arrival of our special one.

  113. Canadian Gooner says:

Ginge – I wasn’t paying too much attention when I hit the link, but I thought well I’m here, I may as well read it to see what the opposition’s point of view is. The article was a balanced well written and unbiased summary of the game, players and tactics.

  114. ktr7 says:

Oezil by the end of yesterday had over 3 million mentions on twitter compared to Bale’s 800,000.he is going to be so loved by the fans in England than he actually expects.I predict he’ll become the #1 shirt seller in the UK by the time the season ends.

  115. agirlagunner says:

CG, that Spud is not half bad. Who knew?? 😀 I fell asleep, too, ha ha. I had a dream of Panglao island and cute furry little tarsiers which augured well for Arsenal since we ended up signing Ozil. 😛

Ozil has revived our collectively flagging hopes; I’m terribly happy about that, KT. 🙂

  116. Canadian Gooner says:

ktr7 – That is very interesting as I was watching an excerpt from Bale’s presentation to the UnReal fans. Their President was taken aback when many, or a very vocal minority, of the fans chanted for the Pres. Perez not to sell Ozil. He seemed to be noticeably flustered by those fans.

  117. ktr7 says:

Hi Agag.i have my doctor on speed dial 🙂
it also seems poldi is loved by every one.he is like the social glue.him and BFG are going to help Oezil adapt seamlessly.

Its also worth noting how Oezil was swayed by Wenger’s confidence in him.it seems in Spain he never really felt appreciated.at Arsenal he is going to be the main man and I bet that made him feel really special.

  118. Lee says:

Wenger sells Gervinho to Roma, Roma sell Lamela to that shower up the road, who sell monkey boy to Madrid, who sell us Ozil………sweet work Arsene!

  119. ozgunner says:

Just went to my local shopping centre and two of the young lads i chat to, nice kids, couldn’t wait to ask if’s I’d heard about that Real Madrid player we’d brought!! That’s more like it, god how long have we waited for this, bring it on Arsene 120 days to next window!!

  120. ozgunner says:

hiya CG – I have spent much of the day reading the same stuff on their fans sites. Bale will be under huge pressure let me tell you and they will come down on him quick time – many are not happy at this trade

  121. ozgunner says:

All we wanted was a show of intent mate, we got that yesterday. He seems a very popular lad as well who’s come through the hard school of knocks, nothing silver spoon fed about this lad. Like him already. Sad at the Madrid treatment but we knock them over in the ECL Final and he gets the last laugh hey?

  122. ozgunner says:

agag I agree with you. No one quite understands why the hell they brought Bale in the first place, let alone refurbished half the spurs side with the payment amount. They are a law unto themselves that is for sure.

  123. devilgunner says:

Good report of the match CG.

I read this on the net from Arsenalshorts. LMFAO………….Arsenal 1-0 Tottenham…
This season has already seen some (one) David and Goliath clashes, with lowly Cardiff beating mega-money giants Man City 3-2, and we were at the centre of an even bigger underdog story this weekend.

Champions of the top flight a record breaking TWO times, the second as recently as 1961, also Champions this season because of their amazing new signings, Spurs came to town expecting an easy victory over newly promoted Arsenal. We only found ourselves in the top flight in 1919, and few people gave us new boys a prayer on Sunday afternoon.

However, despite their amazing new signings of both youth and experience, we had the bare faced cheek to turn the footballing world on its head and ran out 1-0 winners. Oli Giroud scored the only goal of the game after Theo’s shot flukily deflected in off his outstretched boot and past France’s first choice keeper. The rest of the game saw us brave the onslaught of wave after wave of attacks, shots raining in on both corner flags from their razor sharp marksmen, and Jermaine Defoe.

The result now sees us ABOVE Spurs in the league for the first time since last season final game at Newcastle where we drew 1-1 and finished 4th and in the Champions League spot. Who’d have thought this topsy turvy season would throw up so many shocks (2)!

  124. agirlagunner says:

There are some very creative writers out there, Dev. Ha ha. 🙂

Oz, I’m also heartened by the fact that there is nothing like signing a player with a point to prove. I hope Ozil does it with us. Madrid has a fondness for show ponies and signing Big Names more than players that they actually need.

  125. emma says:

I am still basking in the euphoria that we have signed ozillllllll. Still many don’t understand the implication of what has just happened. That was a masterstroke by arsene. Ozil’s presence in the club will attract more ‘A’ star players. We could get an ‘A’ star striker in the winter/next summer window. It also sends out a strong statement of intent that arsenal is back.

Striker? I wouldn’t be worried about that. Lets just hope Giroud remains fit and Walcott/Podolski can slot in when called upon. B52 may have a part to play as well when he drops his ego as he’s got 9months to enjoy his £52k

Some of us are underestimating Emiliano Viviano. He was on loan to Fiorentina last season. On the few occassions I watched Fiorentina because of our reported rumour interest on Jovetic, he did very well. He is a top top top good keeper. He displaced fiorentina no1 keeper when he was signed on loan from Palermo and remained their No 1 keeper thru the season. Wont be surprise if he gazump Scescny

  126. multiple says:

Gud afternoon evry1 ,good read and bw heard that mohd. Cissoko is a free agent, may be cud add him up to make up the numbers??
    Wat say every1

  127. Canadian Gooner says:

I’m ecstatic that we have signed the Wizard of Oz. (no slight to our members from Down Under intended). I think he will give our alumnus DB10 a run for his place in Gooner hearts, as I see Ozil playing a very similar role. Thierry Henry said that he wouldn’t have been half the player (goals scored) he was without Dennis. Let’s hope Ozil can do the same for Olivier, Theo and the team.

As Rico mentioned in her article and a number of the posters have also commented, I think Arsenal will be active in next summer’s, if not the January, market for a couple of players. A striker for sure and probably a DM.

I was expecting us to sign a DM this window, but a number slipped through our fingers. It seemed as if Arsene was not interested in the likes of Capoue. He seems to have have the likes of Lars Bender in mind. This ties in with some of ktr7’s comments from a week or so ago. Arsene isn’t looking for just a large physical player like Fellaini, but one that is flexible and technical that can complement and integrate with the flowing interchange of our midfield of Cazorla, Ramsey, Rosicky, Walcott (see the home leg against Fenerbache).

    As for some of the other positions we were hoping would be addressed this transfer window. Arsene either has;

1.) specific targets or types of player he is looking for

    and/or

2.) has a Young Gun he is anticipating to ease into the the position(s)

A number of players, like Gustavo, were interested in coming; but were too concerned about a possible lack of playing time with competition for places in their respective national teams for next summer’s World Cup.

  128. ktr7 says:

    TheSPORTBible @ TSBible 36m
If Arsenal fans don’t sing: “Cazorla to the
left of me, Ozil to the right, here I am
stuck in the middle Giroud.” I’ll be
    disappointed.

some cheeky lads on twitter… 🙂

  129. ozgunner says:

she is stunning Dev, they say they are the Posh and Becks of Germany – not sure he has Becks dashing looks but she is stunning indeed

  130. devilgunner says:

JT would have been like a hyena wetting itself at the mere sight of her pic……….let alone seeing her in front of him. Mourinho was not going to have anything of that.

  131. devilgunner says:

I thought about that Adam. maybe he thought that RM would not sell Ozil. I hoped we would get Mata as well. That would have set us up.

  132. ktr7 says:

Any German talent that isn’t Bayern bound will find us much more attractive now since we have got a #German core.

CG it seemed I was right indeed.we only needed one destroyer for certain games but not as a plan A.thats why Gustavo never came because AW couldn’t assure him of starts at the club.

as you have stated Wenger wants 2 CMs who can both defend and attack fluidly.this is the plan A.Ramsey is almost perfect for us in that respect.I suspect Wenger will groom Wilshere to that deeper role where Arteta plays with the added bonus that he is more mobile and can switch with Ramsey during games.Rosicky has also showed intelligence to play that role.

Our defending now is based on keeping it tight in midfield not old fashioned destroying.so far so good.

  133. c2hills says:

Hi Agag. Think your 12:20 should read, there are very creative arsenal writers out there. Great day to be a gooner though.

  134. Adam says:

Hi Dev. A lethal striker for me but I will be interested in seeing how Wenger deploys Ozil. It could be an interesting methodology. Great signing though.

  135. ktr7 says:

With the midfielders we have its going to be fun to watch especially in Europe so much quality.if Szczesny starts fulfilling his potential and jack/ramsey too we are set for a good year.

  136. devilgunner says:

I would have enjoyed seeing Di natale as a CF with us. Or from the days gone by……TH, Inzaghi etc.

They would have terrorised even Mourinho. he would have been shitting himself at the prospect of facing us. he is scared now………what if we had a lethal striker with us???

  137. emma says:

    Emiliano Viviano
    Stats for fiorentina last season
Appearances: 32/38(injured for about a month)
    Clean sheets: 12
Keeper of the week in Serie A : 15
    Average saves per game :1.38

He will definitely push Scescny for that No1 spot and keep him on his toes

  138. Canadian Gooner says:

Well the transfer window is closed until the New Year and we have a tedious international break. So, we can all relax for a week and a half and contemplate how the team will look once we integrate the Wizard of Ozil. It has me licking my chops in anticipation.

  139. devilgunner says:

CG you need a dreadfully long tongue to lick your chops mate. unless your chops reach right up to you mouth. 😉

  140. ktr7 says:

Di natale has always been one of my favourite players in serie A devil.its a shame he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves.

  141. Canadian Gooner says:

DG – That must mean something different in Anglospeak. I’m usually up on the more common uses of Anglo-English. I’ve obviously missed out on the meaning of chops on your side of the pond.

  142. ktr7 says:

With this awareness not only to find space
away from the opposition but also from his own
team-mates, it is easy to see why Özil is
regarded as the perfect foil. “Mesut is a great
player and it is good fun to play alongside him,”
says Ronaldo. He is the facilitator for the blunt
    instruments of destruction around him.
    Mourinho saw it. “Özil
    makes things very
    easy for me and for
    his team-mates with
    his football vision and
    the decisions he
makes,” he said during his time in charge at the
Bernabeu. “It’s easy for him to make decisions
on the pitch, which is actually the hardest thing
there is in football. It is an art to make football
look easy and he has that quality.”

  143. Mohammed Bhayat says:

Cheers guys for the love man. I swear I can’t explain how happy I am with this Ozil deal I am still trying to believe this has happened and I’m not going to suddenly refresh the net to be told its another Mata case.

I can’t believe the Madrid fans didn’t chant his name and chanted for Isco, after his first game. I’m not saying Isco’s rubbish but its hard to separate the two, Isco is a bigger goal scorer perhaps but they are both top players Ozil is more a Zidane might not score tons of goals but boy does he know how to play, technically flawless, guys imagine a midfield of Flamini/Areta, Ramsey, Wilshire, Carzola(left wing), Walcot(right wing) and Ozil behind Giroud. Fu*k me they will blow teams away.

I love the comment of the match report by Devil Gunner fu*king brilliant nothing gives me more pleasure than watching us stuff the Spuds, other than watching us stuff the Spuds when we are ‘underdogs’

tsgh can you please not post a pic of Ozil with an Arsenal shirt cause I am at work smiling to myself like some freak now.

Fu*king amazing bring on the 14th we will show Ozil how we chant his name. I read in the Metro the Real players would call him Nemo cause his eyes reminded them of Nemop from Disney. Thats what we should chant. I think he will love that, and he will be over come when 60K fans are chanting his name and will know this is Arsenal baby and we love our stars.

  144. ktr7 says:

MB Oezil is going to get so much love from the Arsenal fans than he would’ve dreamed of.
Ozil went from 1.9m followers to 3.1m in
20 hours…just wait till his Emirates debut.its going to be packed to capacity with the crowd chanting his name to the heavens.

  145. potter says:

In the vernacular your chops are your cheek bones. Not anatomically correct but well what ever is in slang language.

  146. BrainwashedKev says:

    Gotta agree with Lee….

Whenever I am in Adam’s company, I also get this feeling of wanting to throw-up…

Fortunately that feeling will subside when his cheque arrives… 😉

    Where is Rocky???

  147. Mohammed Bhayat says:

    Love this chant from ktr7

    “Cazorla to the
left of me, Ozil to the right, here I am
    stuck in the middle Giroud.”

    Brilliant

  148. Canadian Gooner says:

ktr7 – I have seen a definite change in Arsenal’s playing style this past two months. They can still hold and pass the ball around until they put the opposition to sleep. However, rather than acquire large physical players to counter the physicallity and constant pressing of the likes of Stoke RFC they have opted for a more compact formation on field to soak-up that pressure, frustrate the opposition and hit them on the counter attack.

Our tactics are more direct and pragmatic. Instead of many backwards and sideways passes probing for an opening, we can put the ball in the air and bypass their midfield. This results in a much quicker breakout from our half and denies the other team time to regroup when they lose the ball.

I’ve seen more long balls over the top from our team in this last two months, than I’ve seen in the previous two seasons. This is a seismic shift in playing style. It is obvously something the team have been working on because you don’t start making that type of pass accurately without a lot of practice.

We finally seem to have a Plan B. We can still play like the old Arsenal, if the opposition give us the space and time required, yet can also have them chasing shadows with our more mobile interchanging positions. We are not quite as predictable as in the past.

The Wizard of Ozil should integrate in very little time into our squad and our new style.

  149. agirlagunner says:

rico, no we haven’t signed anyone in your absence. I think your baby, HH, will breach the 6 million marks today though. 🙂 🙂

CG, I reckon my understanding of “licking your chops” is the same as yours. But then again in the Phils. our English is very Americanized. 🙂

  150. ktr7 says:

Another brilliant insight into buggy eyes…

It is Ozil that makes the side play, and his
appreciation of space is incredible. He has a
phenomenal ability to drift between the lines and
find himself free. So often you could pause the game
and draw a triangle or a square around the three or
four players closest to him; Ozil would be precisely
in the center. It’s a difficult thing to quantify,
difficult to outline why being five yards from the
midfield and five yards from the defense is
significantly better to being, say, seven yards from
the midfield and three yards from the defence, but at
this level, margins like that matter.
His thinking in such situations doesn’t stop there.
When one of the opposing players realizes Ozil is
free and moves toward him, Ozil recognizes he’s
now being tracked and replicates his opponent’s
movement to keep a good distance between himself
and his marker. There’s two effects of that. First,
the other opposition players see he’s being tracked
by a teammate so don’t bother picking him up,
despite the fact that the defender is never in control
of the situation. Second, the opponent becomes
dragged out of position to leave a gap for someone
else to exploit. It sounds simple enough on paper,
but it’s more difficult to combine this constant
movement with the actual concept of playing
football — getting the ball, creating chances. He’s
    not just playing tag.
With Ronaldo and Di Maria in a line of three, Ozil is
beside two players who love coming inside. Many
typical number tens would find this frustrating. Ozil
instead helps the side retain fluidity by moving to
the outside. In particular, when a lateral ball is
played to a Real fullback from one of the central
midfielders, Ozil will make an arced run into that
same channel. It’s an unusual movement, going
away from the dangerous central area of the pitch,
and neither the opposition holding midfielder nor the
relevant fullback knows who should be tracking him.
In the confusion, it’s often Ronaldo or Di Maria who
can then make the opposite run and be the one in a
dangerous position, ending up with the glory.
Few other players in football give the impression of
always thinking. Ozil is always glancing around him,
always looking over his shoulder to see where the
space is. He’s so concerned with making sure
defenders don’t track him that he occasionally does
something Thierry Henry used to do in his Arsenal
days, drifting out wide to the touchline and standing
still, as if disinterested from the game, before
bursting into life. Does it work? Rarely. Defenders
aren’t that stupid, but it shows Ozil’s mentality,
how he’s constantly trying to get some space, trying
to escape the attention of defenders.

  151. magnetben says:

I’m so delighted to see another german player in the Arsenal Squad – and he is way better then Podolski. He is just brilliant!

The only only negative thing about Özil is, that he sometimes lacks consistency and sometimes “hides” in the big games. But we will see..

What is going on with Park? Is he still a first team member?

  152. ktr7 says:

I agree CG.We can now play in a variety of ways with the midfielders we have at the club.Oezil will improve us so much no doubt.

I’ve just posted an insight into Oezil to show just why it will not matter much if Santi starts on the left.when we fully integrate him teams are going to chase shadows in most of our games.

  153. tomstonedtomstoned says:

congrats on the buzz yesterday Rico, and even though i do share your concern regarding a striker…i would say that this transfer window fixed most of our probs..
goalie..we all know that Szczesny is our main man,so a back up is all that we needed..
    Cb fixed from within Sagna..
Dm flamini and he also covers as rb…and if he shows anything like he did against the spuds..he is just what we needed,,,im giving him the chance to prove that he isnt the flamoney we all think
    Ozil…what a player and signing,..world class…
so we are abit thin at the moment, but we will be at full force very soon…Arteta back,Wermy back…very soon…
i just hope that all Gooners now can come together and stand firm behind Our Beloved Arsenal…let the Emirates be the fort it was on sunday….everytime we play at home…
who’s excited about our next game ??..me im happier than ive been for a very long time..

  154. rico says:

    It was fun tom 😉

But who fills in if Sagna is injured?

Who up front if Giroud gets injured.

Those are my two worries, especially if Nik B is the guy AW turns to. Think I’d rather see Park up front…

  155. Canadian Gooner says:

Sister AGAG – It doesn’t seem that long ago that you, a few other stalwarts and I stayed online to push the House throught the 3 million mark? The second 3 million mark has taken a much shorter time.

  156. Canadian Gooner says:

tomstoned – Amen to your 1:49 pm posting.

On that note, I’m off before I fall asleep at the computer and wakeup with Belgian waffle face from the keyboard.

Keep the Faith fellow Gooners! We are on the up.

  157. arsenal11730 says:

Congratulations Rico on the record 1000+.
    Well deserved.
    Best Gooner Blog around.
Very respectful and informative… Except for Malaga Gooner LOL…
    Cheers

  158. ktr7 says:

Theo Walcott: “Everyone was glued to

but we have to focus on Friday against
    Moldova.”

Sami “Im sad about Mesut’s departure. I
had known it for 2-3 days, its a big loss
    for the team” (bild)
seems the deal was done earlier than we thought.

  160. ktr7 says:

Arsenal sold 100 Ozil shirts online in the first 15
minutes after he’d signed yesterday according to
Sky and it’s not slowed down. 🙂

  161. ktr7 says:

    Tom Gordon @GoonerGordo 3m
Stewart Robson just been interviewed on SSN and
he’s moaning about where Wenger will play Ozil. 🙂

  162. agirlagunner says:

rico, 6 M mark happens tomorrow at the latest!!

Good night, CG. Make sure you make it to your bed. Nobody wants a waffleface. 😀

KT, you are still superstoked. Haha.

  163. arsenal11730 says:

I agree with the many optimists, although we failed to land a top striker. We finally have a No 10 again. OG, TW and Poldolski will be the main benefactors of our increased assists.
Scez better sharpen up, as Aw has given him the kick up the bottom he has needed for a while. I sense a great battle developing between the sticks. Compettition eliminates complacency. We now need to lengthen BAC contract as he is a cog in our machine, and puts his body on the line for our shirt and the crest.

  164. Woody says:

ktr7 – that idiot Robson shouldn’t be given any tv or radio time. He’s just a bitter old fool that still can’t get over being sacked.

    He needs to grow up.

  165. tsgh says:

    Robson is a clown…

One of the best goal poachers of recent times and DFB director Bierhoff comments on Ozil to the Arsenal move:

“He has signed for an outstanding club with a great coach, who knows how to work with young players.

“For his future sporting development, this is the right step. It is an important step for him, especially as it is a World Cup season.”

  166. arsenal11730 says:

    Mohammed super comments.
    I share your happiness.
Now the transfer window is closed.
We have to unite and support this team to the hilt.

  167. tsgh says:

Niklas Bedntner: “‘I want to assure all Arsenal fans that I will give everything I have”

Kev- you have a point about Sven. He is currently behind Sahin in the BVB midfield. Kehl teh captain is back to his best and I suspect Gundagun will walk into the team when he comes back from injury. The 3rd or CAM goes to mkhitaryan. They now have another goal young goal getter who has rescued them 2 times this season in Hoffman.

Will BVB sell to us though considering Lew is leaving next June?

    Kev- sunderland is 3 o’clock so no…

  168. tsgh says:

Khedira confirmed Ozil deal was basically done last Friday, as Balague said. Also confirmed Real rejected Man Utd bid for him.

Khedira- “Personally, I feel bad about Mesut’s transfer. We are very, very good friends.”

As I mention yesterday it was confirmed on Al Jazeera Saturday night but Perez decided to not sanction the move until yesterday afternoon. He decided to then ask other big clubs to bid for him in order to get more from us…

Original bid was £35M but we had to up it Sunday night allegedly.

I will take Khedira too in January when Alonso comes back from injury…

  169. tsgh says:

Your last match’s t-shirt will be kept foundly with me. @MesutOzil1088 pic.twitter.com/ocrltHEZH3

RM can buy Ozil back from us next summer for £100M… 😀

  170. tsgh says:

    Finally some humility from TGSTEL..

”Many things have been said about my where my future lies after many years at Arsenal; the truth is I just want to play football which is when I’m happiest and Arsenal is a fantsstic environment for any professional to apply their trade. I still feel very strongly about Arsenal Football Club and following positive talks with the Manager, I am looking forward to working hard to regain full fitness and doing my very best to help to the team and the Manager fulfil our objectives and ambitions this season.

I’ve learnt a lot from my loan experiences at Sunderland and Juventus and I want to assure all Arsenal fans that I will give everything I have to contribute to what I believe will be a successful season for the club.”

  171. tsgh says:

Last season we could not score against Sunderland… we will see how we have progressed from last season against both Sunderland and Stoke who we drew 0-0 against.

  172. tsgh says:

Arbeloa told reporters – “Ozil said goodbye on Sunday, but I thought he was joking. Ozil is different, there is no one else like him in the world. He makes such a difference.”

  173. arsenal11730 says:

    Ozils comments indicate intrigue.
Said up to Friday he was staying at RM.
Ancelloti and Perez did not fully support him.
Credit AW for selling Ozil Arsenal, Manu and PSG were sniffing.
Ozil said he needs the full confidence of the manager and club.
He is confident of his abilities, but feels he can be improved by AW.
Classic purchase feels like DB10 in 95. Though a few more bob.
    No more factions and divisions.
It is time to draw the line and push in the same direction.
I trust that we can move onwards upwards and unify as a club.
Moyes is still settling in, somebody mentioned SAF subs were worth 10pts a season. Mourinho will not get it all his way. We cannot count Spurs and Liverpool out, as they have strengthened significantly and LS still to play.

  174. arsenal11730 says:

I would of liked Defoe in our squad, as he is a decent finisher.
He can still play and caused us problems when he came onto the pitch Sunday.

  175. ktr7 says:

  176. ktr7 says:

Quote from Sergio Ramos: “Özil would be
the very last player who I would sell from
Real, if it was up to me. I don’t
    understand this.”

  177. stevepalmer1 says:

    Evening All, Nice one Rico.
A long transfer window day, and as i thought it would be in the last few minutes that Arsenal would announce their dealings Ozil wasn’t even on my radar i must admit, but i feel he will fit in well. I would imagine that many would still be moaning how we havent filled certain positions, but when i look at who we have brought in , i feel that all positions are covered. Many have said they are disappointed we didn’t buy a striker, i dont think in the managers eyes he ever looked at a striker, only when a bid came in for Bentner did he make a bid for Ba.. Bentner may not be everybodies ideal CF, but he has not played for us for 2 years but he has been on the books and we have paid him for nothing, now he may be called to earn some of it. I would have likes a Striker but we do have cover and i dont think it will cause any problems Should our No 1 get injured. I feel that Giroud is going to find it easier with ball that will come to him from midfield personally i feel his lack of pace will hinder him but we now have the players who will feed the ball as any striker would like it. Reading the comments i see Park is still within the fold Sanogo and Bendy we also have other players who could be asked to go up top so i dont think we have any problems at all. Pleased about an experienced keeper on loan Its up to the other 2 to learn their trade a little more maybe he may bring them both on

  178. rico says:

Thanks Sp, I’m not as convinced as you re the lack of striker, and certainly not NB – I don’t even know when he last played a game of football, let alone be called upon for a PL game…

My own view is AW has someone in mind but couldn’t/wouldn’t try for him this summer, hence just a loan deal wanted for Ba..

  179. ktr7 says:

    Mesut Özil
    dear friends,
i’m really amazed to see your tremendous
feedback! 11 million – what an incredible number.
looking forward to you guys, Arsenal fans!

  180. ktr7 says:

Spanish newspaper El Confidencial have come out
with a sensational claim on Tuesday that will be
greeted with both glee and despair in north
London following Arsenal’s capture of Mesut Ozil.
According to El Confidencial, Tottenham chairman
Daniel Levy was keen to make his mark at Real
Madrid on transfer deadline day just as Gareth
Bale was being introduced to the Bernabeu.
Levy called Florentino Perez on Monday in an
attempt to stop Mesut Ozil’s transfer to Arsenal,
    Spurs’ great north London rivals.
Jose Felix Diaz writes in El Confidencial that Levy
felt betrayed by Real Madrid after lengthy
negotiations over Bale and a partnership
agreement between Spurs and the Spanish giants
that was agreed when Luka Modric left White
    Hart Lane.
El Confidencial add that Levy and Spurs had
enquired about Ozil in July and August during the
discussions over Bale but at that point in time it
was thought the German playmaker would remain
    at Real Madrid.
Los Blancos president Florentino Perez politely
informed Levy that the deal to sell Ozil to Arsenal
    was all but done.
This follows suggestions, voiced by Sky Sports
News last week, that Daniel Levy had held up
Real Madrid selling a player to Arsenal to ensure
they would not play against Spurs in the north
    London derby.

  181. tsgh says:

Daniel Levy wanted to make his mark up on the day of the presentation of Gareth Bale. Already with the Welsh in Madrid and white dress, the Tottenham chairman has tried to make clear their understanding of the market and negotiations. Levy did not hesitate to call the white club to try to stop the sale of Ozil to Arsenal, direct rival team. The chief executive of the London club felt betrayed by Real Madrid after the movement made Wenger’s team. See to believe after everything that happened during the months of July and August.

    http://www.elconfidencial.com/deportes/futbol/liga/2013-09-03/daniel-levy-llamo-al-real-madrid-para-intentar-frenar-la-venta-de-ozil_24086/

  182. ktr7 says:

I find it hilarious that levy thought spurs could get Oezil 🙂 and that partnership with madrid is a joke…how exactly does it help them? 🙂

  183. Adam says:

You’ve got to hand it to Levy. He makes classlessness ( if there is such a clumsy word), look easy. I imagine he has his very own tantrum room at home where he goes and does all manner of strange and unpleasant things to strange and unpleasant things.
There is something deliciously joyous in that thought for all Gooners.
I love it when he puts on that “I’m a shrewd and ruthless businessman” face as he sits shrew-like in the directors box, his face, that he believes displays his hard nosed approach, a contorted knot of little muscles that betray the screaming, paranoid little man within.

  184. Adam says:

    Evening Rico.
That Levy story, if true, is fantastic. Anybody who thinks that Perez is going to honour any agreement, except when it suits him is deluded. I am reminded of Neville Chamberlains scrap of white paper that he waved from the window of No.10.

  185. rico says:

Perez is about one thing Adam, Perez. I strongly suspect that Ozil wouldn’t even entertain joining the Toots.

He shafted us over Higuain, I was surprised we even thought Ozil would be allowed to join us, let alone getting him…

Paying over the odds clearly suited Perez.

  186. devilgunner says:

Blimey Adam. Are you so freaking that old that you remember Chamberlain waving the scrap of paper from the window of No 10???

I thought that only WATH and KEV were the geriatrics here.

    Good evening fine smiling folks.

  187. devilgunner says:

I just heard that the spuddies have contacted Barca to form up a partnership. They are afraid that the next player on our list is Messi and want to put a stop to that as well.

  188. potter says:

We should remember those newsreel pictures ” I have in my hand a piece of paper ” etc. It was on that programme that had that cockerel crowing at the beginning , Pathetic News or something ………..Nothing changes.

  189. Adam says:

Potter. That’s right. I see Levy, waving a a 5 million peseta note, currently valued at £12.50, from the window of the Spurs trophy room, a place nobody could remember the location of. As the baying crowds raised their Nike trainers above their heads alongside their flat screen TVs and the shops burnt behind them, Levy bawls “I have here the note from our good friend Florentino Perez in which he promises that he will not sell Ozil to that lot down the road”.

  190. tsgh says:

Hi kt- I saw that earlier and I thought it is spot on…

My view is that in terms of No.10s Ozil is very different to the likes of Zidane who were more forceful in their play. It is reminiscence of typical player makers like Abedi Pele who learnt their trade on the streets rather than football academies.

Ozil I would say is a cross between Figo, Ballack, and Mendieta but left footed in his way of play. That is the reason why I suspect some fans will probably end up turning on him in some games.

I think the negative side to his game is that he does not force play like Zidane or Maradona did at Napoli.

If you are not family with Abedi then his video is below:

As I have mentioned before his son Andre is WC but he opted for Ghana instead of France and so is not quite on the lips of most pundits.

  191. tsgh says:

🙂 Rico, like a few did with AA23. Both drift out of game a bit to a fan but team mates and managers may see it as being strategic….

  192. Micko says:

There was a cheeky rumour going around last nite rico that the reason we delayed annoucing Ozil for soooooo long was due to the fact that he originally failed the medical because of an asthma attack caused by the dust from our empty trophy cabinet, it could of been a wind up mind ya, only Arsene knows !

  193. devilgunner says:

Rico……….when Poldi got injured I said it immediately that it would be 3 months out. Any tear, large or small on a hamstring requires around 12 weeks out.

When AFC medics said it to be around 6 to 8 weeks I laughed at it.

Seems as if the German doctors say that I am right.

  194. rico says:

But there is a huge difference between the two surely? One allowed his head to drop, put on weight and perform lazily on the pitch.

The other – well I just can’t see that happening, he’s a bigger star, a far better player and he’s ambitious…

I doubt he’ll moan about the food, the driving and the tax…

  195. Micko says:

tsgh, it’s never more than an arm’s length away.

Ole ‘Googley Eyes’ should have joined us first time around, it was good business for Real, didn’t they pick him up for 12 odd million a couple of seasons back.

  196. Micko says:

rico, you only have to look back at the chaos that volcanic ash cloud caused, like I say it was only a rumour, never confirmed.

  197. rico says:

Will be the same when we get Mata in Jan Micko, why sign them cheap when we can pay over the odds a few years later 😉

Good point Micko, ash can be a devil, he is in Casualty …

  198. tsgh says:

Yes 16 million euros I think… they offered him an after tax package which we couldn’t. That 30% was enough…

  199. ktr7 says:

Ts I think thats the reason why Oezil/Cazorla will work so well no matter where either starts.however Oezil is better at playing in between the lines where he is comfortable searching for space.he is better than santi there because of that.Santi prefers to be in the thick of things with the ball to feet.this is why i feel he is preferred out wide by wenger whereby he can tuck in to dictate play.

  200. Micko says:

rico, casualty….that’s where poor ole phil is tonite !

Tsgh, I remember him tearing England apart at the world cup, he would have been a great signing at the time but as you say money talks, at least he’s seen sense now, better late than never.

  201. tsgh says:

Kt- I suspect that if SC19 had his way he would prefer to play in MA08’s position. He has played there for Spain in the lasst 2 internationals with Martinez as the DM next to him and Iniesta ahead of him. He played there for Villareal behind Riquelme sometimes too…

  202. rico says:

I bet he is Micko, what a nutter that other chap is, can never remember his name he is so naff – Never mind, Max has made it clear he’s going to end it…

3 weeks says the nutter, I think he might have died in that crash. Hopefully….

It’s all going to get exciting eh…

  203. Scott from Oz says:

    Morning all.
Aother great day to be a Gooner, but aren’t they all?
    Classlessness Adam?
I googled it……several football related names came up.
    Jose.
    Fergie.
    Levy.
Stan K is one i did not recognise.
    Robson.
Actually, i got bored there and stopped reading, but there were plenty more 🙂

  204. tsgh says:

Agree Micko.. but I am hearing he tok a pay cut to join us. Mustafa his dad is not pleased… AW was the difference.

The reason he was pimping his son out to anyone who could offer more.

  205. Micko says:

Sorry rico, to quote your house motto ‘where it’s ok to disagree’ if he dies he will have let us all down very badly, your out of order, take an early bath girl !!!

  206. rico says:

Ha ha Micko, but I can’t stand him. I doubt he’ll die though, there’s a big storyline brewing and he’s going to be the fall guy…

Of course Scott, even though it’s sometimes bloody frustrating….

  207. tsgh says:

I will never claim to be in the know but I do hear from certain people who claim to know. 😉

But the truth always comes out…

Anyways, Ba and his people were allegedly looking for £3M to ensure the loan went true… Arsenal refused…

  208. Scott from Oz says:

    Hi Ginge.
    Night Rico.
3 million for a loan deal on a guy that cost 7?
    They were having a laugh.
    We can win this thing.
I thought we were a chance, albeit slight, before Ozil came in.
I still can not believe we got a player of his class.

  209. Scott from Oz says:

Does Ozil meet the criteria of a “super, super quality” player?
Thank goodness Wenger and Ivan, and whoever else was involved, fulfilled their promise.
Even my confidence was starting to wane, though only a little 🙂

  210. tsgh says:

Ozil is super quality but, this league is different. The fact that he is coming from La liga should help him settle better.

The best foriegn players have mostly come from France and Holland with a few currently coming from Spain. Germans have not truly fulfilled expectations in this league.

But I have high hopes for Ozil as he is a different breed and his 3 years in Spain especially with Manuel will help him get on with AW…

Ozil always said his 2 dreams in footballwas to play for AW and retire in Turkey. One has just be fulfilled or should I say about to start. lol

  211. Micko says:

tsgh, anything a professional footballer says I would take with a large pinch of salt, nite mate, scott, rico, lets all laugh at Levy.

  212. Scott from Oz says:

Possible the best post i have ever read……..

Definition of Irony – this article talks about how Wenger signed possibly the best no. 10 in the world. The author’s previous article is titled “Why can’t Arsenal buy big?”

Short termism in football is amplified by lazy and short term journalism in Britain. They have successfully ended many players’ and managers’ careers.

  213. NashuaGunners says:

Good night Rico… T’morrow is another day

tsgh, I’m never far away. HH is like a pain medication drug you don’t give it up so easily when you experiencing frequent pain . When HHers are on the same wavelength it nice to sit back and enjoy the ride.

No one has mentioned 4:3:3 formation and how Ozil will be use and what players could in the squad if OG12 is not in the lineup.

  214. rico says:

    Morning all.

Off out with Fido early as it’s getting hot and sticky here, post will go up at 9.40..

Might be back by then if it’s too hot 🙁

  215. Lewis says:

Isn’t it wonderful to see all the Real players saying they are not happy Ozil has left, shows how highly they rate him. We have a serious footballer on our hands here!

  216. Mohammed Bhayat says:

Another thing which I find really funny is how none of those same players who are sad to see Ozil leave haven’t said they are over the moon with seeing Bale at Real.

I really think Bale will get a wake up call when he starts playing, well over hyped and over priced and what a wanker Levy is the prick well the hope he had of beating us in the NLD back fired and although it will take the Spuds time to gel they won’t finish above us and its as simple as that I personally believe they won’t be in the top four and the gap between us and them will be bigger that a point.

If I am right and I hope I am Levy will look like a mug and so will their fu*king messiah Baldini and AVB. Levy has placed all his eggs in a 110M basket and if and I hope its does back fire what a dick he will look like and all those prats that said because they brought ‘better’ than we did they will finish above us, and if they don’t what that will do for their credibility will be good to see.
