Best Arsenal photo in years? Ospina wants Toffees move…?

Will he be the best since Mad Jens??
Will he be the best since Mad Jens??

Hello you fine folk…..

I’d like to think you’ve missed me but I know you haven’t. Wath has done a great job, he always does…. Yes I know, I’m lucky, well, you lot are as without him, you’d all be bored looking a week old post every day!

Once we had Mad Jens, a goal keeper who many think has been our best since David Seaman but now we have a player who on paper is a world class, experienced and about to win us the league according to so many people in the media and in other places…. Better than Mad Jens?

Well he’s finally joined up with his new team-mates and is training hard. He’s clearly enjoying himself to as one only has to read the updates on the official site to realise that.

We all know that in life, sometimes a change is as good as a rest as it can bring a new lease of life into us all. New goals, (excuse the pun) new surroundings, new friends can all so often bring new rewards. It happens in every day life when we change jobs. Suddenly from being bored, we get excited again because a new challenge lies ahead and that’s exactly what life will be like for Petr Cech. It’s all new…

It was the same for Łukasz Fabiański. He left us after a few years of being know as ‘Flappianski’ but at Swansea, he’s had a great season and really proved he has what it takes to be a very good goalkeeper.

Similar could be the case for David Ospina who could be on his way to Everton and he’s said that a move is on! Well, apparently he’s said it’s a ‘great possibility’ according to reports…

It’ll be a shame if he’s the guy to go but it is what it is and there must be a reason for Arsene Wenger to stand by Szczesny if that’s the way things pan out. I’m not convinced that would be right but then I’m not around these players each day so all we can do is hope the management/coaches get it right…

But you never know, both Ospina and Szczesny could yet stay, especially after what Arsene Wenger has had to say:

It was a very, very tough decision [to buy Cech] because I have two great goalkeepers. I think Cech can make them better as well.

What about Martinez?

Anyway, all will become more clear as this transfer window carries on….

One thing is for sure though and that’s that Arsene Wenger believes that the arrival of Petr Cech brings nothing other than good things:

He has huge experience and the fact that he has won more big trophies can strengthen the belief of the team. That can help them to develop and that’s what I expect from him.

You always want to improve the experience level of your squad and I thought he could help us gain something on that front.

I still think he has a huge hunger. When I saw him with Chelsea last year he was always convincing and I’m happy that we could do it. His kind of knowledge and experience can help us.

Well, Arsene Wenger has started with the back of the spine, now a central midfielder and an attacking player to finish it off would be a near perfect end to this summer….

And let’s hope Cech really does sort out our goalkeeping situation for many a season to come…..

I’m going to cheer on Murray now, the nice one… 😉

Afternoon Rico and the House Great post on your return Rico you have been missed and its great to have you you back.
I think Wath has been very good while you was away.

  2. allezkev says:

I think the main consideration that Wenger has, is that Szczesny is a home-produced player where as Ospina would count as foreign…

I can see Ospina leaving this summer and Szczesny next summer if Martinez shows sign of developing into a good No.2…

Cech is gonna be between our sticks, imo, for the long term, despite his age.

  3. Rick says:

Rico i think we will have to be very careful what we say to Scott
His team have been completely outplayed by England in under 4 days
    A great win.

  4. Rick says:

Kev your 5.26 is spot on
In the first game of the season our u21’s played Bournmouth behind closed doors at Colney. The game finished 1-1 Hines the scorer

  5. agirlagunner says:

Your deputy has done a creditable job, rico!! How are you? Keep an eye on your pets, Stanley has his eye set on a fried chicken!!

You’ve gone all jetset, madame!! 😉

  6. goonster says:

My God finally a good post. Hey wath are you reading? Now that’s how to write a post you old git 😀 welcome back mama bear I kept the place lively for ya. You know how I roll?

  7. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Good Evening Lovelies and Hunkies.

Aye…..a fine post Lady. Welcome back. Hope you enjoyed yourself wherever you have been.

Thanks for your patience Wath. We really enjoyed it with you (especially when pulling your leg). And you did hold the fort when in essence there was nothing to write about. Now you can enjoy a chicken stewed with pineapple and sip a glass of wine.

I agree with you Kev. This summer it will be Ospina (sadly) and next summer Ches if Martinez shows promise. So imo Martinez should be sent on loan this season, but somewhere he will play as number one.

And unless its a question of money, Ospina should be loaned out rather than sold.

The ideal situation would be one which sees Ches and Martinez loaned out and Ospina kept as number 2 and given frequent game time.

but I doubt that AW will do that

  8. rico says:

I’m good thanks Agag, looking forward to my next trip away in September, you ok?

Stan is just a bad man around animals…. 🙁

  9. agirlagunner says:

She takes after her pa, goonie. 🙂

Hello, Dev, that stew sounds yummm. What goes into it? It’s past midnight here, and you have me hungry.

Can’t wait to go on hols, rico. 🙂 Soon, hopefully.

  10. Hell Raising Devil says:

    hi Agag. how’s things?

aye. good stews are important in life. they spice it up and add a bit of colour to your tastes.

and if you add Goonie’s gonads and didgery doo as well in the mix it will be even tastier.

  11. Wavy says:

Welcome back Rico, you have been missed but, we have to Congratulate Wath for writing something every day, the more so as there really was nothing to write about! But we rumbled on. Some more loudly than others but I think we kept ourselves amused! Now you’re back perhaps we will return to a few more contravesial top is and really have something to shout about!
Holidays are all very well but there’s nothing like the comfort of your own blog!

Away from the homestead myself but always attached via the wonders of new technology!

Czech, number one but not all games in EPL. He will be given down time against the weaker teams, who ever is number two will fill his boots! Plus milk cup duties, and FA cup appearances. Jobs a good ‘un.

  12. rico says:

Thanks Wavy, I agree, dreadful time trying to find something to write about… At least the new season kicks off soon…. Lol

  13. goonster says:

Hahahahahahah bloody iPhone my god that was “break the Internet ” not breakfast Hahahahahahah

  14. rico says:

Lovely time thanks Adam, warm sea, storms and rain but topped off with really warm temperatures – the local fish from the harbour was awesome…

  15. Hell Raising Devil says:

I think that Wath and everyone else including me will be waiting with anticipation for a post from Goonie. I think Wath will literally pee over himself that day.

that will be the day when practically Wath and I will write over 1000 comments between us two alone.

  16. Adam says:

I am expecting a Dutch Masterclass of creative writing combined with some verbal abuse and profanity. Filth, but erudite.

  17. Micko says:

Never thought I’d say it rico but what a sight for sore eyes you are !

The Martinez situation is a simple one, another Stuart Taylor waiting to happen, he’ll eek a living out of football just not at AFC……..how can anyone disagree.

And well done to Wath even if he did fall asleep at the wheel today !

  18. rico says:

To be fair, I knew Wath was tucked up today with stuff so we agreed I’d do a post when I got home… Better late than never.. Like Stans promise….

  19. Micko says:

The next one out the door rico !!

Agree Adam, it would certainly be colourful ! Probably a watershed post though.

Off out to play, laters guys.

  20. Hell Raising Devil says:

Its a situation similar to Ospina Rico. He did very well for us. But when a Cech comes along you cannot refuse him. And same with Nacho. Maybe a superior defender is in line. Someone AW cannot turn down.

  21. rico says:

    Probably Micko… Have fun..

Devil, just think Monreal has been superb, finding better will be difficult imo..

I’m off too, see you all on Monday. Night guys…

  22. goonster says:

Baffles me how santi is on his last hear yet no contract has been offered to him. Am worried maam. Don’t want to loose santi after ozil and oxchambo he’s my next favorite player. Sign him up arsene you tight wad 😀

  23. Hell Raising Devil says:

Petr Čech will wear the number 33 shirt for Arsenal next season, the club have confirmed this evening.

The 33-year-old joined the Gunners from Premier League rivals Chelsea a fortnight ago in a deal believed to be worth around £10 million.

Čech signed a three-year contract at the Emirates but has since gone on to say that he plans to continue playing football at a high level until he is 40.

Why not give him the number 1 shirt???

  24. goonster says:

Oh crap so wath ll be back tomorrow for another rubbish post. Yawn I ll hibernation till Monday then.

  25. goonster says:

Power pace precision 😀 what a lad. He ll be immense this season. Can’t wait. Come on you gunners 😀 bring on the season already. Grrrrr

  26. goonster says:

Am expecting great things from him theo and wilshere this season. Good thing jack has added goals to his repertoire. My God watch out epl we are all out to get ya 😀

  27. goonster says:

Ozster wilshere rambo Santi oxchambo sanchez theo and Ollie 😀 oh br afraid epl be very afraid.

  28. goonster says:

So manure signed that pig fucker shweinstieger? So?? We ve got lecoq the beast of le mans 😀 between him santi and sanchez they ll keep him quiet.

  29. goonster says:

Hey how about we put in a cheeky bid for shniedrline now that manure have moved on 😀 say 8 million pounds 😀

  30. goonster says:

Our back room staff is key to our title aspirations next season. Keep our core players fit and none shall touch us. Cech kozzer mert lecoq santi rambo ozil sanchez and Ollie and watch us smash those cnuts home and away. Can’t wait I feel drip coming 😀 kream that is 😀

  31. goonster says:

I see us brushing both Manchester teams aside. Smashing the scousers and finally getting one over that poison dwarf. But who I really want us to obliterate are the scums and at their shithole too. 8.0 sanchez hatrick 😀

  32. goonster says:

We ll be formidable next term guys. I can see us going far in europe too. Maybe a semi final run. Oh God in heaven what I ll give to lift that big eared trophy.

  33. goonster says:

I see us bagging a super duper player soon. Arsene has been too quiet lately. Something is brewing. The calm before the storm 😀 my god let it be isco rakitic or Toni kroos. If we sign Toni Kroos I ll jump off the empire state building 😀 and am crazy enough to do it 😀

  34. allezkev says:

So you don’t rate Martinez then Mick..?

I can see the point you’re making and the comparison with Stuart Taylor.
But I don’t see it quite the same, and I don’t either, see Martinez as our eventual No.1, just as cover for Cech…

  35. goonster says:

Hold on kev how did palace manage to nab cabaye?? Wow. We could do with him coming off the bench. I ll prefer him to shniedrline too. Bummer.

  36. allezkev says:

Mick, if Cech stays in our goal for the next 5, 6 or 7 years, the goalkeeping situation and who is available, will be very different.

Wenger may have retired before Cech, so it’s a long term situation we’re looking at.

  37. goonster says:

Kev I can’t wait 😀 especially if cech help us pip the chavs to the charity shied by saving all 4 penalties 😀

  38. allezkev says:

    Really Stan?

Not sure myself mate, I like MS, Cabaye is also good, but Sniederlin is quality and on 25.

  39. allezkev says:

Funny you say that Stan, I was chatting to my son yesterday, who has just found out he’s got his tickets for the Charity Shield, and I said that we’d probably beat the Chavs on a penalty shoot-out… 😉

  40. goonster says:

Kev age is sooo overated. I ll have yohan in a heart beat. Xavi played into his mid 30s so did Andrea pirlo. Cabaye over shniedrline any day.

  41. goonster says:

Kev we will beat them. It’s in the stars. The league is ours to lose. We have momentum plus we just managed to bag a top 5 world best keepers. Only barfa has more wins than us this year. Maureen knows it that acrid stale breathe van gaal knows it. They are all running scared.

  42. allezkev says:

Seems that Van Gaal has set himself out for a short term team rebuild. Buying ready made players, who are possibly past their peak, or will be in 12 to 18 months…

Similar to Fergusons deal for Van Persie…
That deal was all about Fergusons legacy and retiring as a winner and bugger the long term consequences.

    Was RVP value for money?
Yes, ManUre won the league, but they’ve paying through the nose since…

Van Gaal seems to be following the well trodden path of Red Nose…

  43. goonster says:

Just manage to convince kroos and we ll win everything available next year. The African cup of nations world club cup fa cup premier League champions League heck we ll even win the copa America 😀 my god let it be Toni kroos and I ll give up sinning 😀

  44. allezkev says:

I’m Stan, I cannot argue with you over Cabaye, ax I like him as a player…

I’m glad you are confident about the forthcoming season.

So am I, but keep it to yourself ok… 😉

  45. goonster says:

Well kev am not complaining. Let him sign di Natale for all I care. As long as we win the league at shite fart lane am straight 😀

  46. allezkev says:

Tony Kroos, yeah he’s ok, but I’m not even sure that Arsene is looking at a def/mid tbh Stan…

  47. allezkev says:

I think that Arsene is looking for that player who can get us another 15 goals…

All the other bases are pretty much covered mate…

  48. goonster says:

Kev don’t rain on my parade. It’s a free country a guy can dream no? Plus we don’t know whim arsene has his eyes on. So as long as that windows is still open. I ll keep dreaming 😀 Toni kroos Toni kroos Toni kroos Toni kroos Toni kroos

  49. goonster says:

He won’t be looking at a striker mind you. Theo we’ll sanchez Ollie and akpom. We re well stocked. I sincerely hope it’s kroos or rakitic but kroos more 😀

  50. goonster says:

A midfield of kroos santi and rambo with ozil playing at the base and we ll kill them all 😀 I know they are all both similar players but who cares. We ll rip the league 😀

  51. goonster says:

My god am so excited I can’t stay still 😀 bring on the season already. The waiting is killing me.

  52. goonster says:

I have a feeling arsene ll shock us again. My God let it be the good kind. Don’t want another sanogo sized turd smiling on my karma as I walk pass the pearly gates.

  53. goonster says:

Sanogo akpom zelalem gnabs and Crowley should all go in loan to garner more experience. Maybe sell sanogo outrightly 😀 that ll make micko smile.

  54. goonster says:

My god I need football back Pronto . If I take one more weekend of this I ll probably shoot myself.

  55. goonster says:

The just concluded season 😀 my highlight is watching gerard bow his head as it hit him he won’t be celebrating an fa cup win on his birthday and final game for the mugmashers 😀

  56. goonster says:

I think I ll write a post on the just concluded season. The highs and lows. Hey rico make room maam and thrash whatever drab post wath has concocted. I ll have a boner for you tomorrow 😀

  57. goonster says:

Hahahahahahah wath is a 4 letter word and so is shit!!!!! coincidence???? I don’t think so. Hahahahahahahah wath us shit 😀

  58. goonster says:

Ozil is just a graceful footballer. I saw DB at his best and zizou( messi ronaldo don’t count) but there’s something about mesut. He’s just a class act. So glad he’s ours. Plus he just paid for surgeries for 11 kids in Brazil. Talk about class. Take a bow son 😀

  59. goonster says:

Who am I kidding? Zizou is the greatest player ever. Men that dude could control a meteor gracefully.

  60. goonster says:

Wish I could rewind time. I ll want to go back to watch zizou play again at his prime. What a player.

  61. Micko says:

Cor blimey Stan, you were on fire tonite !

It’s not true what the others say, your a real stalwart to HH matey, long may it continue !

    Nite Gooners.

  62. goonster says:

I ll say it again zizou is the best player I ever saw play football. He’s on another planet. There ll never be another. End of. Football misses you zizou.

  63. allezkev says:

    Morning All….

We already have Mertesaker, Koscielny, Paulista and Chambers, as well as a couple of very promising young central – defenders in the U21’s, so another defender wouldn’t seem a priority to me unless Arsene was thinking the unthinkable, selling Kozzer?

So when I read about the rumour of Arsenals interest in Jonny Evans, I just thought bullshit…

    Or is it?

  64. allezkev says:

Hiya Digger, I’m pretty good mate.
Having a lazy Sunday off, very enjoyable it is too…

How are all you down under mate?

  65. allezkev says:

Yeah, I have to agree with your sentiments concerning Wengers sanity, Koscielny is crucial to us imo…

But you can never second guess what AW is gonna do, because we don’t know what goes on behind the scenes…

  66. scottfromoz says:

That’s true but in this case, if those BEHIND the scenes want to sell, Wenger would surely have to stand his ground.
The guy is as good a CB as there is, IMO.
    Things are good here bud.
I’m aiming up at having a pint and curry with you all next year at some point 🙂

  67. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Good Morning Lovelies e Hunkies.

Kev and Scott, I have to disagree slightly with regards Kos. If an offer of 21-25 mill comes in I feel AW should consider it. Soon to be 30, with an injury history is too good to turn down Gabriel is a solid defender and with game time he will be better than Kos. And there is Chambers as well.

I feel that there might be some truth in the Evans story.

  68. scottfromoz says:

Devil, we don’t need to sell, so why sell?
We’ve waited a long time to be in this position, so selling him would take us back a few years in my opinion.

  69. allezkev says:

Scott that would be great if you could visit next year. Maybe we can meet up with all our friends in the Gunners pub?

And I’m sure we could all do a curry again with the usual suspects…

  70. allezkev says:

Coach, at first glance, and as Scott says, selling Koscielny would seem crazy and send out the wrong messages…

But we don’t know what goes on between the medical staff and Wenger…

Apparently when RVP was agitating for his move to ManUre, Wenger had already commented that he thought that RVP had about 18 months left in him at the highest level. So we were never gonna give him what ManUre gave him financially and maybe getting £25m for him was a really smart piece of business?

  71. scottfromoz says:

Kev, I’ll give you all plenty of notice to arrange holidays 🙂 🙂 🙂
The shirts are still on the agenda, but when……who knows.
You’ll be the first in line when they’re done mate.
On RVP…..24 million was a great business, and I said I thought that was the case at the time.
    He wanted out…bye bye.
If Kozzer wants out then sell him…..if he wants to say, keep him, IMO.
I never want a player who hints at wanting out.

  72. allezkev says:

So Coach, what you suggest isn’t quite as crazy as it seems…

Gabriel has had a year to settle, and he’s a great defender, who would compliment BFG perfectly…

Not sure about Evans myself, but then I wasn’t sure about Welbeck and given time he could turn out to be a really good signing…

  73. Hell Raising Devil says:

Evans would jump at the chance to be at our club. Top four, challenging for honours. And he is home grown. Plus a patient manager.

Its not a question if Kos wants out or not Scott. its a question of health, fitness, how much he has left at the top. If AW thinks that he will not last more than 1 or two seasons at most than a fee in excess of 20million could well see him sold. Evans, who is around two and a half years younger at around 8 million would be a good piece of business.

  74. goonster says:

Hahahahahahahah Jonny evans??? I won’t touch that prick with a long pole 😀 you guys hahahahahaj sell kozzer they say and buy evans! That’s the funniest thing I ve ever read. Jonny Evans??? Hahahahahahahahahahahahah morning HH.

  75. goonster says:

How about we replace arsene with John carver 😀 hahahahahahahahaha HH is a comedy blog. I love it here.

  76. goonster says:

Replace that with who???please don’t say Jonny evans 😀 the only defender I ll replace him with is in Madrid and they sure won’t sell him to us. Gee this age thingy irks the hell out of me. Cnut Terry is as old as the mole on me mum’s rump yet I don’t see that prick maureen letting him go. Jaap stam played into his late 30s so did Franco baresi Paolo Maldini heck even mr arsenal himself tony Adams played into his late 30s. Guys give it a rest this age thing is getting too old too fast.

  77. goonster says:

Kev I ll rather have Henry than evans Karl Henry that is 😀 wath ll love that. He’s a sucker for big brawny bastards 😀

  78. Adam says:

You must have had a lot of sugar Stan. I was hyper last night too. We played a game with our Dutch friends where you have to open a pack of Stroopwafels using only your lips.

  79. allezkev says:

Stan, I think that Wath is still getting over Arsenal losing out on Angel Di Maria.

Personally I want a Bender, just as Bruvver Lee does…

  80. goonster says:

Laccesste (spelling ) is making the rounds this morning kev. I ll be underwhelmed if he’s the signing of the season. I want kroos 😀

  81. goonster says:

Ak am not surprised wath always appear a tad gloomy. Poor bastard he never really got over us selling his best bud gerwanko 😀

  82. allezkev says:

Gervinho, now that brings back fond memories Stan…

I can still see Lee, loudly voicing his admiration for our old African wing wizard.
Adam nearly choked on his pitta bread…

  83. Hell Raising Devil says:

Goonie, Stanley Matthews played till he was over 50. Does it mean that others can play up till that as well??

It does not mean that if Adams etc played on till over 30 that Kos will do the same as well. Kos has his injuries which with the passing of age will only increase.

I still think he is one of the best defenders in the EPL. But imo if someone offers crazy money like 25mill then I say sell him.

  84. goonster says:

Adamant you probably saw that on dutch tv. You have no dutch friends adam. Lol if you did you would have met them a long time ago.

  85. Adam says:

Stan. Of course I do. What about my frequent trips to the great city of Arnhem where I kiss all the women 3 times? No tongues of course!

  86. goonster says:

When was your last trip to Arnhem adam? Am getting nostalgic 😀 I ve been away from home for too long. Lord Jesus bring me back. Good lord I need me a break.

  87. goonster says:

Have you ever gone with the missus adam? I ll bet she ll love it. Take her on your next trip adam. You guys should visit Eindhoven too. Beautiful place.

  88. Adam says:

She’s been to Amsterdam with me but never Arnhem Stan. The worst part is the long car ride form Germany. How long is the train to Amsterdam to Arnhem?

  89. goonster says:

I ve never taken a training ride to Amsterdam adam. Not sure. Hold on let me ask the loafer next door. He went just last month 😀

  90. Adam says:

What an extraordinary accent that chap has. A mix of Dutch and West Indian.
Looks cool Stan. Mrs Adam fancies giving it a try.

  91. goonster says:

Lol dutch and west indies??? Really? He ll probably sound like Sebastian the crab in the little Mermaid 😀 hahahahahahah

  92. scottfromoz says:

Devil, I see your point but I think the value in knocking back a massive get for Kozzer is worth much more than the money, long term.
    Stan….you’re on a roll bud 🙂

  93. goonster says:

Well kinda but not so much. I have a more southern accent. Dirk kuyt sounds like van Persie bergy and Klaas Jan. I sound like Jan Mulder 😀 classic ain’t it??

  94. goonster says:

Gee scott tone it down rico ll have your gonads too 😀 adam and me in a room? My god *shivers*

  95. goonster says:

Scott I ll sooner dangle my bits in front of a great white shark than share a cab with that smelly turd faced bastard. He’s scum.

  96. scottfromoz says:

    All good mate.
I was away fishing for a few days and then had some early starts at work.
No big mystery……no holiday with Rico 🙂
How’s your part of the world treating you?
    Princess well, I hope.

  97. Wath says:

    New Post up………….

Waiting on rent a gob Stan to write a post we’ll be here til the end of eternity….! Enough said..!
