Bernard deal done? Wenger wants Mata & Gustavo. Two players go head to head & temperatures rise….

Morning all,

So the latest gossip links us to Mata, well in my mere humble opinion, he’d be a wonderful addition to our side, he’s pure class. A little genius who would give us something quite special in attack.

Whether that poisonous little man who manages Chelsea would sanction such a sale to us is another matter. No pun intended. I strongly suspect Roman will have the final say though, he usually does….

Fingers crossed on that one.

Here’s another rumour.

Brazilian reporter Alexandre Oliviera has been quoted as saying: “Atletico Mineiro’s Bernard is going to join Arsenal.”

Well it must be true then……

And…..

Luiz Gustavo is the defensive midfielder Arsene wants to fill that huge void in midfield. The 25 year old Brazilian is reported to be the man and suggestion is we make an offer of £8 million for him! Surely that won’t be enough, will it?

Right, onto some real news. Carl Jenkinson isn’t ready to play second fiddle to Bacary Sagna this coming season. He wants the right back position to be made his own as he eyes up cementing his place in the England side too.

It would be a dream for me to go to a World Cup and if I can play for Arsenal every week then I would give myself a chance. That’s a big target for me.

‘It’s a big season for me. I look it at a massive season. I’ve had a couple of years now where I’ve played, settled in and personally I’ve raised my level and got more chances.

Hopefully I’ll get more playing time than I did last year because that was a bit frustrating at times but I think this is an opportunity to show I’m ready.

If I can play in some of these games then I think I can show that I can play week-in and week-out. Bacary finished up playing every week last season.

Most people would say he’s first choice. He’s a fantastic player and has been for many years. I’ve got the utmost respect for him.

But he knows I want to push him for his place. I hope I can push on to the next level and ultimately take his place and play every week.

This guy is determined and I don’t think many would disagree with me when I write that he’s starting to look like a top class player. He’s red and white through and through and for what Arsene Wenger paid for him, he could become one of the greatest ‘cheap’ risks our manager has ever taken.

What did he cost, £1 million?

He puts players like Arshavin, Park, Chamakh, Bendtner to name just a few, to shame….

Each of those players listed above, and more, would have been on a much higher wage than our young Englishman but what Arsenal get form him is priceless. He’s a true Gooner and a true professional.

Yes, I like him!

Oh, and our ageing old right back, Bacary Sagna has confirmed he’s going nowhere:

I enjoy playing for Arsenal,I love my team and I always give my best. I’m still here. Many people were talking about me going back to France but I’m still here and I’m looking forward to a big season with Arsenal.

Last season was difficult. I only had one year left and people were looking at that and maybe thinking I would leave.

But I tried to stay as calm as I could. Now I will work hard in pre-season and have a good season for Arsenal.

So that’s our right-back situation confirmed and that has to be good news, experience with youth.

Finally, there is a little story going around about the players having ice baths before and after training to help their bodies cope with the heat out in Japan…

Pfff, could do with that back here in England, and it’s set to get hotter……

Have a good day all, keep slapping the factor 30 on….

  1. Scott from Oz says:

    Aaaaggghhhh, memories.
Tha day we signed Jenks, Gooners worldwide were overcome with being underwhelmed.
    Who?
    Not good enough.
    Not Arsenal quality.
    Never will be, said some.
Who am i to rub noses in it???
Love it, and even more i love the fact he is just such a good kid, and a true Gooner.
    Top of the morning guys.
I had to get in first, because there is a small matter of the cricket i must face up to.
    Moring alll….Off you go 🙂

  2. Scott from Oz says:

On Bernard, i did the usual YouTube viewing.
Small, quick and skilful, but very direct which was impressive.
Oh, and he can really deliver a cross.

  3. rico says:

Aldi Adam please, did you know Aldi has been voted as one of the better supermarkets around… Better than Waitrose would you believe…

  4. C Hills says:

Theses gossips are becoming so tiring, yet you keep doing an excellent job as an unpaid journalist, rico.
    Morning everyone.

  5. Joaquim Moreira says:

    good morning
RVP is a key player for MU… I’m watching and listening Moses on the TV now
    brrrrr…
    I’m going to the beach ! 🙂
    Catch you later

  6. Adam says:

Rico. I tried to go into an Aldi store but there were so many caravans in the car park I had to go to a Waitrose instead.

  7. Scott from Oz says:

I don’t reckon he made that many Adam, but there some rippers lol.
Still, from where he was two years ago to now is a massive leap.

  8. Foolishgooner says:

Yup… Arshavin replacement? No, Gervinho replacement? No may be better than both? Can he defend? Will he score? Is he going out on a loan?

  9. rico says:

Thanks Ch, do like to keep up date with the gossip…

🙂 Breezy, you are becoming as cynical as Adam…

You didn’t mistake Butlins for Aldi did you Adam, no caravans in my local Aldi 😉

  10. Scott from Oz says:

    Agreed Adam.
I believe Bould had more impact on Jenks last season than any other player.
When he did play, his defence was fantastic barring the odd horror……that will go with experience….but he was picking his time to bomb forward superbly compared to his first season.
Heart can carry a footballer a hell of a long way, especially in the eyes of fans.
    He has a massive future.

  11. Scott from Oz says:

Yanited are about to kick off their game v our Aussie All Stars side.
Let me tell you, i know for a fact there are plenty of Gooners for one reason….to give it to Van Persie.
Plenty have gone to training sessions followed by autograph sessions wearing their best Arsenal kit and sticking it to him big time.

  12. rico says:

Any more than others though Adam?

He’s still young, whereas others who made a few shocking errors are mature experienced players..

  13. Kosta says:

I know he would bring a huge alter ego with him but Luis Suarez is the right player I believe to take this club to the next level and consistantly challenge for the league. Bernard would be another awesome addition to the squad and is regarded as one of the hottest prospects of South American football. He would add some much needed flair to the squad and create many scoring opportunities.
I am also loving Manchester United’s activity in the transfer market (none thus far) but I am a little surprised thiago went to bayern in search of first team football. Especially when they just purchased Mario gotze to add depth to the midfield, also having Kroos as well.

  14. C Hills says:

What I like rico, is us signing quality in areas where we are a bit short. Gossip is for ladies. 😉
Scott, that is priceless re Aussie gooners.

  15. devilgunner says:

………..it’s set to get hotter……you said???

    WAHHHAHHHAHHHAAAAAAHHHHHHAAAAAAA!!!!!

you should come here in the Med. We are frying today. Temp is 37 degrees and with humidity of over 90% you will become as red as a fried tomato.

Good Morning Lady, Sir, Gentlemen and Ladies.

    Bernard, Gustavo!!! Mata!!!!

we are going to sign the lot. the fiver is still dangling to and fro but at the moment it is still with Kev’s body odour. Still a long way to go.

Good news is that till now there is no KNOB ALERTS. And my saucepan is still safe on the kitchen cupboard.

  16. Ergs says:

Bernard looked good guys in the confederations cup would like to see us sign him!
im still optimstic about 3 new players coming in this summer just not sure who we are after.
im sure Wenger will pull out atleast 1 big signing.

  17. C Hills says:

rico: …And we don’t hear that the older players are not good enough apart from squid and santos.

  18. rico says:

Kosta, most on here believe that Suarez would be a fantastic signing.. As for the mancs, the more who choose not to join them, the better…

Morning devil, it’s quite cool here today, a bit of a change… 37 is hot, but nice if the sea is nearby, i know where i’d be 😉

  19. Scott from Oz says:

A lovely day today, down under.
    Just gorgeous for winter.
Seans side had a great win…2-2 at half time followed by a little rocket from yours truly, resulting in a 9-2 win.
Best ootball i will see today, because buggered if i can watch the Manc wankers.

  20. Scott from Oz says:

    On Mata,
I am not questioning the reports, but i am questioning the sanity of Jose.
Mata has been Chelskis best player for most of the past two seasons, so what on earth is he thinking??
    Joes, i mean.

  21. Scott from Oz says:

Rico, i must say that there is a steady flow of info suggesting Suarez is a real possibility for us.
Mata is one we really did miss out on.
    He is superb.

  22. devilgunner says:

On the results of the Spuds, Manure and Shitty.

All of them obtained bad results. Is it because they have regressed or because the teams they played have improved? I cannot say since I did not see all of them. However, I do not think that all three clubs have gone into games with a lack a daisy mental attitude.

  23. Canadian Gooner says:

Good Morning to the Lady of the House and all fellow Gooners in residence.

Rico “…well in my mere humble opinion,…” – mere no, humble yes. At least things are starting to look more positive regarding transfers in. Who knows, maybe Arsene will have multiple announcements to make on return from the Asian Tour. I’ll continue to keep my fingers crossed and saying my prayers.

  24. W.A.T.H says:

Agreed Scott, Mata pure class just can’t see that little piss ant tosser at the Chavs selling us a stale loaf of bread let alone a class player.

Agreed would not ever ever ever go watch the mancs…!

  25. rico says:

Certainly does Scott, he’d soon beat the old badger for the golden boot with us…

Morning Cg, I’ll be joining you on the mat..

Wath, that’s my worry re Mata, maybe if we agree not to pursue Rooney, once Suarez in, he’d sell up… 😉

  26. Scott from Oz says:

Devil, a little bit of luck in their goal.
A minute later our lads skimmed their bar.
The crowd is near silent…to be expected as most Mancs fans here know NONE of their players since Rooney isn’t playing 🙂

  27. Canadian Gooner says:

Unfortunately I don’t think we will get Mata, but it is a sign we are on the up if Arsene does make an inquiry or, better yet, a wriiten offer. I’m sure that would piss off the pygmy from Portugal. Who knows if Mata is feeling unloved like Vain Wooney, we just might.

  28. C Hills says:

I am 120% certain Mata isn’t coming but, if I’m wrong well, goes to show I have zero knowledge about transfers.
If we manage to sign only Suarez, I will be very happy.

  29. W.A.T.H says:

Scott, I went over to South Africa in 94 to watch Arsenal pre-season and we played the mancs in Jo’burg, fuck me it was spot the Arsenal fan the place was FULL of mancs…! Thing is they were all plastics mate they only knew Brian Robson, the ball got passed from one to the other and every player the people around us were saying ah it’s Brian Robson ah it’s Brian Robson, piss funny cos there were like 6 Robsons n the pitch, highlights their fans worldwide for the most part, glory hunting plastics…!

  30. Scott from Oz says:

    Agreed Wath.
The wankers i know here ask me how their side went overnight!!
I tell the bastards to get up and watch!!
We are watching…Seany wanted to watch a game……and it is silent.
It isn’t that it’s an Aussie crowd, it is the Yanited element.

  31. Canadian Gooner says:

W.A.T.H – Other than the ex-pats, many of the ‘fans’ here are like that. They couldn’t name you more than the few marquee players. Six months to a year later they are into the latest winning team or into the latest vogue sport.

  32. W.A.T.H says:

That’s the thing with global tv audiences CG, many many plastic fans who just follow the winners and change teams like their underpants yet as we’ve seen in Asia there are also many thousands of fans that are fanatical and follow their team through thick n thin which is how it should be and fair play to them.

  33. Canadian Gooner says:

Rico – It took me a minute to figure that comment out ha ha, but if we’re going to share a prayer mat, I trust your faith doesn’t have any weird &/or dangerous rituals?

  34. rico says:

That’s for sure Scott, I am quietly confident I will be rich in a couple of weeks…

Ha ha Cg, I can assure you that you would be quiet safe…. 😉

  35. Canadian Gooner says:

W.A.T.H – I try to change my under garments regularly, certainly more frequently than Robert Pires during a winning streak.

  36. W.A.T.H says:

Scott, i would rather out worldwide support was a tenth of the mancs if they were all proper fanatical and not the fickle plastics they attract, them the chavs n now Citeh…!

  37. Canadian Gooner says:

CH – Many of the fans around the world, no matter the sport and no matter the team, are fair weather fans. Yet, as we have seen on the Asian Tour, there are many avid and involved fans. I consider myself a supporter, through thick and thin.

  38. Scott from Oz says:

    I know Wath.
Let’s face it, a decent amount of time without trophies will test he resolve of fans.
Especially away fom England, people still passionate about Arsenal right now just have to be true and loyal Gooners.

  39. Breezy says:

@ WATH, I’ m South African and the plastics in this country are all over the show, not only do they know jack about football, but they first in line to give me a ribbing about Arsenal and the sabbatical we have taken from winning trophies. The good news is that are quite a few of us gooners down here as well now.

  40. Scott from Oz says:

There are more and more Gooners here coming out of the woodwork.
The Arsenal Australia spoorters group have made a big effort of late to get membership levels up, and it is really surprising to see how many keen fans there are.

  41. Canadian Gooner says:

Scott – You must be like me, finding it difficult to type when you’ve got yor fingers crossed for some good news on the transfer front.

  42. Scott from Oz says:

Nah CG, i am not stressing over it mate.
    No point.
Wenger has this last chance in my eyes, and i truly believe he will spend up, but there are enough worrying about it, so need or me to 🙂

  43. tsgh says:

    Another fine post…

”Let me tell you, i know for a fact there are plenty of Gooners for one reason….to give it to Van Persie.” Scott stop defending the indefensible… they heard a team who wear red from the EPL was coming into town and they just bought tickets… 😀

    Isn’t Heskey the A-star’s captain?
    Morning my fellow HHers btw..

Is the new John Keane Roy’s son?

  44. Scott from Oz says:

It is official…..98.2 % of the crowd surveyed DO know that Alex Ferguson is the Yanited manager.
And we thought they knew nothing about “their” club 🙂

  45. tsgh says:

Hmmm, The manure boys are playing so good attacking play… is it due to Moyes or the fact that the A-league all stars are ‘suspect’ footballers?

  46. tsgh says:

The dippers play Indonesia later today? We shall see if they can put more than 7 goals past the Indonesian XI..

  47. Gtid says:

    Off topic :
no more talks about shift in power at NL…sums up the media hatred towards Arsenal fc
I keep telling people Arsene will sign but now I’m not even sure
i hope he surprises us with good ones

  48. Scott from Oz says:

Ginge, our giys have never played together and haven’t played for months.
As our season is short, our off season is much longer…obvious, i know but you know what i mean.
Yanited are not great, though it is pre season.
I wouldn’t read anything at all ino this.

  49. W.A.T.H says:

Scott, very true about Arsenals lack of trophies will have our plastics scampering off to support someone else by now so I reckon most of our fans are proper very few plastics will hang around when you win naff all but as said least then whats left is proper supporters.

Breezy, I could not believe Ellis Park in 94, it was rammed, I reckon 5000 Arsenal 60,000 mancs and can imagine the stick you get but as you say they for the most part are clueless about the so called teams that they follow.

  50. Scott from Oz says:

I love it when a manc has a crack at me.
I just ask them to name their right back, or tell them to name 6 of the starting 11.
    Silence truly is GOLDEN 🙂

  51. W.A.T.H says:

CG, I am sure Park is gone already they just not announced it…!
I’d say Bndy, Chmuk n Gerv and we’re sorted big time in the mass clearout..! Credit where it’s deserved getting rid of what we have so far has been great business.

  52. tsgh says:

I know buddy re the A-league just pulling your legs
    On the comparison…

The major point of contention is the pass accuracy and efficiency… Wilshere appears to be more aggressive with his passing, making 29% of his passes up the pitch compared to Ramsey making just 26% of his passes in a forward direction, so how does that affect the efficiency?

Ramsey’s completion percentage goes from 93% in his defensive third of the field, to 84% in the attacking zone, to 81% in the final third. Wilshere matches Ramsey’s 93% completion rate in the defensive third, but falls to 80% – well below Ramsey’s 84% in the attacking zone. Wilshere makes another big drop in the final third – this time coming up with a 78% completion rate, which is 3% behind Ramsey in that area of the field.
So again, this probably reaffirms the notion that Ramsey is a better passer.

  53. Scott from Oz says:

Statistically, there is nowhere near the gap between the two as people think, and as i have said before, our win/loss ratio last year was much worse with Jack than without.
When Wenger works out how best to utilise him, we are going to be even better.

  54. Scott from Oz says:

KT, it came up a few days ago..of course Fab is coming back lol
Gee, if true, it would certainly help us get our striker.
Who wouldn’t want Cesc feeding them?

  55. Canadian Gooner says:

W.A.T.H – It’s strange that there have been plenty of rumours and speculation about Bendtner and Gervinho, but nary a whisper about Chamakh. Does Park really exist, has anyone seen him?

  56. W.A.T.H says:

Ok so here’s one for ya…

IF and a really big IF… (i don’t think it will happen) Cesc returns then what striker would we then want to get the best results…?

    Suarez
    Rooney
    Higuain
    Dzeko
    Lewandowski

    ????

  57. Scott from Oz says:

Still Rooney or Suarez for me.
In all honesty i have seen bugger all of Lewndowski, so can’t comment there.
We have Giroud, so no Dzeko.
    Higuain would do as well.

  58. devilgunner says:

If Cesc comes back we would need a fast striker for him to feed. With Cesc back it would mean that Cazorla and Theo would man the wings. Both are fast with Theo being faster.

Currently we have Podolski and Giroud up front. Both aren’t fast. But both can lead the line. Higuain and Dzeko are similiar to the two we have.

Both Rooney and Suarez can do the job. And neither are slow but more faster than the above mentioned four. Out of the two, though only Shrek can lead the line, be fast and score regularly and work for the team. Suarez is fast, but cannot lead the line in the manner that Podolski, Giroud, Hig and Dzeko (and also RVP) can do.

That leaves Lewandowski. The only striker who can be like Shrek.

Personally I would like Shrek. Lewandowski will bugger off to Bayern after a couple of years.

But if Shrek comes he can be to us what Cantona was to Manure when he went there.

    Aye.

    Shrek
    Cazorla, Cesc, Theo.

A forward line to water your mouth. Goals and assists galore.

  59. Canadian Gooner says:

DG – Unless Lewandowski changes his mind and signs a contract extension or the club changes their mind and sells him he will be a Bosman to Bayern next July. I’d love to have him or Suarez at Arsenal or Higuain in a pinch.

  60. Scott from Oz says:

So Cesc is the missing link?
I have thought for a while we do not need to tinker with the defence, just add to it for depth.
A creator and finsher is what we need.
Cesc signing would attract a big gun striker.

  61. ktr7 says:

Devil you are understimating suarez’ ability to lead the line.especially when you say poldi who is quite poor at leading the line.Suarez is excellent at it.

  62. tsgh says:

Hi Kt, Aneke wears number 24 too which is Abu Dhabi’s so it is either interesting or just what is available…..

  63. agirlagunner says:

Boo!! Hope we sign someone. And soon!

rico, another good one on another nothing day. 😉

    Hello, all!!

  64. ktr7 says:

i disagree devil.he can quite well since he has a low centre of gravity and excellent ball skills to hold it up.poldi may be bigger but he for me offers very little there.his movement is non existent.also am not a rooney fan and am not all fussed about him.

  65. ktr7 says:

playing up front for Arsenal it is paramount you have excellent movement since the movement of our wide players and AM are referenced to him.Poldi is quite static and doesn’t cause enough chaos in there to create openings for the other attacking players.suarez has that movement that creates loads of gaps similar to how rvp/lewandowski do.if wenger had faith in poldi there we wouldn’t be chasing a CF.

  66. tsgh says:

You have a point Dev… Suarez’s nuisance is that he does not stay in position as a CF…

It can be seen as a negative or a positive depending on which side of the fence you stand.

At liverpool Jonjo Shelvey was meant to play behind Luiz but ended up being the pivot upfront for the likes of Borino, Suarez and Sterling. Without Jonjo now at Swansea, it will be interesting to see how Coutinho and Suarez partnership develop if Luiz stays of course…

If we cast our minds back to the 2011 season, when SG4 played behind Luiz, Luiz only scored 12/13 goals that season even though the dippers will argue they hit the post more times than any team in the league. lol

Traditionally Suarez played as a 2nd striker.. a sort of crazy Del Piero… lol

He is not the main striker even with Uruguay either… its Forlan who leads the attack.

  67. Canadian Gooner says:

Ginge – That picture is of OG12 after AGAG has finished with him for the day. He needed to chil out and get some serious physio.

Good Morning Sister AGAG. All is well in Japan …oops I mean the Philippines?

  68. tsgh says:

Poldi’s movement is an enigma… Magath complained about Poldi’s movement in 2007 whilst they were both at FC Munchen.

It is interesting that Poldi played at the base of the diamond or AM or behind the striker in the last 2 Krauts friendlies…

  69. tsgh says:

Kt, what do you think of the idea of Poldi playing behind a new CF or OG12 with SC19/JW10 on the lhs and Theo/Serge?Akpom on the rhs.

AR16/Capoue and MA08 patrolling and marshaling the midfield

  70. tsgh says:

I think we may be surprised this season depending on who we get in regards to SC19 being a certified starter…

  71. Canadian Gooner says:

Ginge – Sister AGAG has never given me any reason not to trust her. So, I will give the lady the benefit of the doubt.

As for you, look closely at the heels of the shoes in her avatar. Those in the hands of a true mistress of Escrima could do serious damage and inflict extreme pain. I would be very very careful if I were you.

  72. agirlagunner says:

Hahaha. He looks drugged out in that pic. 😀 And creepy.

Interesting bit about Per’s kit number. 😉

  73. Canadian Gooner says:

I think Poldi would be more comfortable in the AM or 2nd striker role. He is not an out and out striker. Stick him behind the likes of OG12.

  74. ktr7 says:

Poldi played that role recently for Germany but he wasn’t impressive for me.theoretically it sounds fine but in practice i don’t think it would work especially since poldi doesn’t have the workrate like rooney for example to help our CM’s.also in that formation i doubt theo would contribute much since you are pushing him further away from goal which is pretty much where he is most effective.

  75. Canadian Gooner says:

ktr7 – I think we will continue to see more squad rotation this coming season. If Poldi doesn’t up his game he could be superceded by the likes of Ox.

  76. agirlagunner says:

I’m trustworthy, not to worry. 🙂 And honest to a fault. I was asked by my boss why I was late to a meeting she was not prepared for (that was my job, tbh): I freely confessed that I watched Arsenal play a CL match which finished at 5 am, and I took a nap and did not wake up early enough to clock in at 9 am. That really hurt my bonuses. 😉

    HI, KT and WATH. 🙂

  77. rico says:

Crikey, you have all been busy.. Cesc to et the number 4 then 🙂

    Night Scott..

    Hi agag, thanks …..

    Hello again all…

  78. tsgh says:

Interesting assessment kt… in short I guss it it depends on the team dynamics and personnel… we are already short of grafters in the team so unless we have someone like a fit Abou or Frimps the balance between attack and defence can be skewed by deploying the wrong person in key position…

Lebouf thinks Laudrup will be the ideal candidate to release Tito.

  79. agirlagunner says:

rico, as you can imagine, Boss did NOT find it funny. 😀

Weekend’s been shopping-ish, WATH. 🙂 Online stores will be the death of me. 😛

Scott, did your friends really give it to Judas?? Excellent!!

  80. agirlagunner says:

    Hello, C Hills. 🙂

We don’t have nearly enough word class players at the moment, so Cesc and Suarez would be a start. 🙂

  81. tsgh says:

The dippers are currently leading 1-0 against Indonesia XI

Only 10 minutes gone though… They have their new signings playing and all the big guns except SG and Suarez

  82. agirlagunner says:

Xavi has been poor by his admittedly (grudgingly) standards. Old age catching up with him, I suppose. I don’t suppose it makes sense to sell him this summer esp since Thiago left, but stranger things have happened. 😉

  83. C Hills says:

Yea, stranger things have happened agag. Like a poster on arseblog said the other day, they’ve often tested positive for stupidity. Anyway, I don’t think they are that stupid.

  84. Canadian Gooner says:

Have a great day fellow Gooners. I’m off to make myself some breakfast then off to bed.

    Keep the Faith!

  85. tsgh says:

Its funny how you can tell the difference in class between the dippers performances and ours…

    Later Cg…

  86. rico says:

Not been watching Ts, are they rubbish 😉

You’ll get to realise as you send more time on here Ch…

  87. rico says:

Mel Smith, 60 years old, has died after suffering a heart attack…

RIP big guy, a very very clever and funny comedian……

  88. tsgh says:

    Hi CH and Emma…

So Gerard was playing all along… its virtually the full senior squad minus the suspended and injured players…

Rico, well they are fluffing around… there is quality on the pitch but it looks disjointed…

  89. emma says:

Gerard played the first 45mins. I would say the only player that impressed me was Coutinho. Surprised robson hasn’t scolded the dippers

  90. tsgh says:

He won’t do that… that would make him very unbiased 🙂

Its also interesting that a few fans on the web things Akpom and Serge passed the ball back too often but Sterling wants to take on the whole Indonesian team but gets no where…

As the saying goes, this is the only country where a safe pass sideways or backwards is seen as a bad thing…

  91. tsgh says:

I am surprised robson has not blamed AW’s poor tactics and non-spending for the state of the pitch… more time yet though 😛

  92. Gonerjoe says:

    Rico
Sad to hear about Mel Smith very funny man like the talk about the no4 been available but the summer transfer window is getting tedious.

  93. tsgh says:

Indonesia play a good game though… they are keeping the ball much better than most teams in the EPl.

Comparing the 2 performances (the dippers and ours) makes me think our team is much better than some fans think it is… or maybe just an issue of learning from mistakes 😉

  94. emma says:

Borini, Aspas, luiz alberto will not cut it in the PL. Dippers have lost their way since Coutinho was sub

  95. tsgh says:

Robson and a dipper loving commentator. I think it is Ray Stubss.

robson making excuses about why Arsenal scored more.. i.e the team are playing better than when they faced us.

Ray said our finishing was better… 😛

  96. emma says:

Glad we have a more settled tour this season. Unlike last season, seems Wenger has found a solution to it.

  97. tsgh says:

Its a case of frying pan to fire…

Our team spirit looks good so hopefully by the time of the Erms cup and the introduction of the 2 amigos and possibly Frimps we may be ready. Plus a signing or 2 in key positions of course.

  98. Adam says:

We need at least 4 new players I think. Then the fans might start to believe. Well, some of them anyway.

  99. tsgh says:

Sahin, Reus and Lewandowski are all playing…

Gundogan, Humells too, its almost a strong squad but not quite…

  100. Adam says:

    TS. Amen to that.
The fans deserve to feel that the team can compete. For Wenger it is now or never I think.

  101. emma says:

Wenger is a changed man. The honeymoon period is now over. Days where players dont give a shit or play badly and he wraps his arm over their shoulder is over. You either put up or f*ck off
    deadwood left:
    park
    chamakh
    Djourou

I will still keep Gerv as a squad player

  102. Adam says:

    Agreed Rico.
Emma. I agree with almost everything you say. Gervinho staying though is a step too far for me.
I thought Djourou was out on loan.

  103. tsgh says:

Emma… Aw use to have a ruthless streak to him… Boa Morte, inamoto, Van Bronquist, Jeffers, wright all saw the boot in the past.

Watching Bender now its amazing how similar he is to AR16 but one is valued at over £25M and the other is considered a deadwood by some…

  104. emma says:

re Ceasar. I doubt he will join. He refused to take a wage cut to join Napoli and I doubt if we will match his wages
I will say lets go with the 2 keepers we have. What matters is the team structure when defending. We will be fine if we give our keepers enough protection and hope fabianski stays fit to push Szesny

  105. agirlagunner says:

    How did Liverpoop fare, Ginge?

    Hello, emma. 🙂

Adam, you haven’t even changed your gravatar. 😛

  106. Adam says:

Agag. It doesn’t work for me. I have tried but as you know, I am quite dim. Even Rico has given up on me.

  107. tsgh says:

    2-0 Agag…

Robson was trying to blame the field for the reason why they could not match or beat our score…

Note, this is a week after Indonesia played us so Liverpool should be more sharper than us… 😉

Emma, do you see how Bender goes wondering around even though he is meant to be the DM… he has just gone on the rhs… if he did that with us Rico would have a fit 😛

  108. agirlagunner says:

Ginge, ah. Typical of Robson. Tut tut.

What you can do Adam is open a wordpress account and upload your picture there. 🙂 Go on, you can do it. 😛

  109. tsgh says:

    wandering even…

Indeed it just shows sometimes some players are not bad just not a good fit… he looks a far superior player.

  110. tsgh says:

Ah well, not excited but maybe it is best for kouassi. That league is played at a slower pace than the EPl and so he may enjoy it…

    Very impressed with Sahin…

  111. rico says:

4.47 emma. I still think we need a keeper, unless we sign a quality DM kind of player..

    Ts, not really 😉

Adam, can you get another email address, then you could try again, i still blame you tough, it worked after I set it up…. Then you intervened 😉

  112. Gonerjoe says:

    Rico
It’s always the way the good die young will go on you tube to find some sketches later.

  113. agirlagunner says:

Ginge maybe your boy will become a shoe designer. 🙂 🙂

Adam, hahaha. How on earth could you mess up a WP account? 😛

Can’t say I’m sad about Gervinho leaving. But I hope he is replaced and soon!

  114. rico says:

Thank goodness they aren’t in the PL then Ts 😉

Off to get the bbq fired up now so back a little later….

  115. tsgh says:

Still only 1-0 up… and it was a tap in from Boateng the Cb

😀 CH… they say he sets the teams up to win not to entertain re Jose 😉

  116. C Hills says:

Ginge, saw a link to an interesting article comparing AR and JW earlier on. If those two really step up, we might not need a DM.

  117. tsgh says:

Diego Simeone that DB7 nemesis now of athletico has weighed in on the SC19 rumours by saying everything is possible…

  118. Bradster says:

    Hi all,

I remember that tournament here in SA with Liverpool too. Back then i recalled more Liverpool fans than Man United. There are plenty plastics around, the Man City shirts only lasted on year.

Regarding Cesc, I’m sure his DNA will keep him at Barca.

  119. rico says:

Bbq agag, just a veggie burger in a roll.. Oh and griddled peppers, Halloumi cheese and salad…. plenty of garlic and chilli sauce too and gherkins …

    Nothing too exciting 😉

  120. agirlagunner says:

Sounds exciting to me, rico. I had a tuna and gouda sandwich. Now, that’s unexciting. 😛

  121. rico says:

Funny enough Wath, No!! All four are still safe in my garden….;)

    agag – that’s nice, I’d love that….

  122. tsgh says:

Kt, indeed Thiago looks even special playing for the bavarians…

I heard Pique is retesting himself to confirm his Khazar bavarian roots…

Bbq chicken for me… on the bone of course.

  123. rico says:

Ha ha Gjoe, nothing wrong with a chip sandwich if that’s what you fancy….

    I won’t tell my girls Ts 😉

  124. W.A.T.H says:

AGAG, I had lemonade…. with my GG of course 😀

I wondered about the chickens Rico, maybe you were “peckish”

  125. agirlagunner says:

Gonerjoe, that beats my dinner on the “meh” scale. 😛

Ginge, I like! I love chicken. But don’t tell rico.

  126. Adam says:

I had a Linda McCartney Mozzarella burger, sautéed onions and garlic, chilli chips and broccoli with soya sauce. It was passably decent.
    Yes Rico. I did it.

  127. rico says:

Nice Adam. I had the LM burger too 🙂

Gjoe, have it very rare, it wouldn’t take to long 😉

  128. agirlagunner says:

Have you tried calamansi concentrate with GG, Wath? Happy-making stuff. 😉

Adam, sounds yum. Oyster sauce would have even been better with the veg . 🙂

I hate pretty much all the Barcelona players, C Hills. They largely make up my Hateful 11.

  129. Adam says:

It does have. Certain Je ne sais qua if I say so myself. 🙂
It isn’t the one I posted though. I think Rico has substituted them for a leather pair.

  130. tsgh says:

Utd have reportedly increased their bid to £30M for CF04…

CF must be open to the idea! i bet Judas has an involvement in this plot…

  131. rico says:

That’s what we do here Ch, we have all sorts of conversations during the quiet times, it’s much nicer than arguing and moaning all the time…

Oh, if you fancy writing an Arsenal post, please do, same to all, feel free to help out during this very quiet time..

    Hint Hint…!! 😉

  132. Adam says:

I am for for a movie, a cuppa and a pain au raisin. Evening all. Glad you like my trousers Agag. 🙂
I think “that photo” would be appropriate for me Rico. 🙂 I would fit right in.

  133. W.A.T.H says:

Ts, depends on my mood mate I have GG with everything even with my yorkshire pud and roast beef 😉

AGAG you know GG goes with everything.

  134. rico says:

Judas reckons he has not spoken to CF Ts, but I bet you are right… It’s not looking good is it….

  135. agirlagunner says:

Not Cesc. 🙂 He used to be my favorite. 😉 What did you have for dinner?

Adam, more like c’était affreux!. 😛

  136. tsgh says:

Rico, Cf said last summer he thought Judas will stay because he loved AFC…

It will be up to us to match the bid of united…. that £25M figure is a lie…

WATH… just pulling your legs.. 😉

  137. Gonerjoe says:

Thanks for the good wishes have a good night off for some cake and a lot of beer. I need it still no transfers?

  138. rico says:

I too am off for the day, have a good evening/morning/night all…

    ‘Til tomorrow….

    Nighty Night…..

  139. W.A.T.H says:

Cheers All seems your all departing… have a great evening.

Ts, the GG goes with anything mate, the siberians follow my lead mate 😀

  140. tsgh says:

😀 if the siberians follow your lead then get songiho sentenced to FC anzhi for 4 years of monkey chants…

    night Gj…
    Nighty Rico…

  141. Scott from Oz says:

    Morning all.
300 + comments at this time of year is incredile, and ot a corss word among them….hats off guys.

  142. Scott from Oz says:

I am waking up to pics of Gooners in the crowd at the Yanited game.
They have gone to some extent to let it be known we loath the guy.
People walking around with proper shirts and

    VAN PERSIE

    IS

    SCUM

    Amongst others.
Another got thrown out for chanting FU, RVP
Funny though….a mate got pics with Moyes while wearing an arsenal shirt and the guy was fantastic.

  143. tsgh says:

Scotty, what is your opinion on CF being available/

My thoughts on Fabregas are that I dislike him for the way he forced his way out of Arsenal. It was despicable behaviour .Only a repentant Cesc Fabregas should be allowed to returned to Arsenal. Don’t get me wrong he is a classy player but all those fake injuries and none attendance after February for his last 3 years were shocking…

  144. Scott from Oz says:

Sorry Ginge, thought everyone was gone.
I agree he did not acted poorly, but the saving grace is he never criticised the club or anyone at the club.
I would take him back in a heartbeat, but not make him captain.
I think he us exactly what we need, along with a top striker, to compete with anyone.
    Catch you tomorrow mate.

  145. allezkev says:

Adam, I have to confess, that this morning was, in fact, the end of a raucous, but very enjoyable, evening/early morning knees-up…

But my sentiments were what was on my mind, thru the Peroni/San Miguel. 😀

Potter, sorry to shock you mate, 😉 , just sick of all the usual bell ends that we get passing through…

    Anyway, it’s good to talk/blog/rant, isn’t it Rico?!!! 😛

  146. allezkev says:

Hair of the Dog did it for me this afternoon Adam…

Now, well sleep is the answer, so night mate… 😉

  147. allezkev says:

Just gotta say Adam, I simply lurv the Gravatar.

What are the words i’m seaching for????

    Fashion icon, yep, that’s it… 😛 😀
    Night mate
