Barca Star Set To Join Alexis Sanchez? The Postman Delivers Again…..

Morning all.

According to The Metro, Barcelona’s Pedro wants out as he’s sick of playing second fiddle to Neymar and now Suarez. Apparently it was him Arsene Wenger wanted in the summer but ended up with his old team-mate Alexis Sanchez. Well we all know that’s poppycock.

Signing a quality player like Pedro would be fantastic but at this moment in time, our priorities in the next couple of transfer windows have to be elsewhere in my opinion. Pedro, a CDM and a CB though would be acceptable in January… lol

Sometimes in life you just have to accept that lady luck just isn’t on your side. No matter how hard you try or how much effort you put into what you are doing, it just doesn’t go well. We of all fans know that. That’s pretty much what happened at Sunderland yesterday. After the battering last week, it was clear that Gus Poyet had got his side up for the match against us but regardless, they lost and they have no-one to blame but themselves.

Two shocking errors gifted us two goals and all three points.

I doubt Alexis Sanchez will care as he benefited from both errors, I doubt Arsene Wenger will care either and I doubt many Arsenal fans will care. We needed three points and right now we’ll take them any way we can and to be fair, I think we deserved the points. Cazorla had many chances to sore, Welbeck too but neither were able to take them. Another day, another chance and perhaps they’ll go in.

Our first goal came about after Wes Brown scuffed an attempt at a back pass to his keeper. Alexis Sanchez was on the ball in a flash, ran at Mannone and chipped it over our old keeper to make it 1-0. Cool and classy from our postman…

Just before the final whistle, another dreadful mix up in the Sunderland defence and a total balls up by Mannone presented Alexis with a simple tap in for his second of the match.

Not all was good news though, Welbeck got booked for an alleged dive which I thought was extremely harsh, especially when one of the Sunderland went unpunished for a two challenge  earlier in the game. Arteta and Gibbs also picked up bookings. The latter picked up an injury too and it looks like he’ll be out for a few weeks.

What was I saying about Lady Luck?

A good result away from home but the performance, well I’ll leave that to the comments section.

Have a good Sunday all…..

Former Chelsea man Paul Clement lined up to replace Arsene Wenger at Arsenal
ARSENE WENGER is lining up Real Madrid coach Paul Clement to be his successor at Arsenal.

The Gunners boss will be given the keys to the Emirates castle – just like Sir Alex Ferguson was at Manchester United.

The 65-year-old will handpick his replacement when he does retire and has identified Englishman Clement as a shock contender.

The Sun report that Wenger wants to hire the ideal man and teach him the the ropes.

There is understood to be an agreement in place that Wenger moves upstairs after he calls time on his managerial career.

His current No.2 Steve Bould is considered ready but Wenger sees potential in Clement.

Clement, 42, has coached at Chelsea, Fulham and Blackburn.

He joined Paris St-Germain in 2012 to work under Carlo Ancelotti – then moved with him to Real Madrid a year later.

  2. rico says:

I just looked him up on Wikki, seems Ancelotti must really trust him as he’s taken him to nearly every club he’s managed.

  3. Adam says:

Big difference between being the main man though Rico. You have to answer questions from all sorts when you are. 🙂

Morning all. Nice result. Full stop.
I didn’t think Welbeck dived – I don’t think that he’s that type of player. It may get turned over after an appeal…. maybe.

  5. Drake says:

I dont mind having clement, yes it risky but we have to move on.guys klopp season keeps on getting worse,i think they will win the champions league this season

  6. potter says:

We certainly used to ,at one point we used to send video evidence to the F.A. We exposed such luminaries as Poll , Webb , Durkin and Riley as being less than perfect. Look where it got us :- Riley is in charge of referees and Webb is in charge of the current crop’s training. Many myself included believe that’s why we don’t get a fair shake from them.

    Morning All
    Morning Rico

Gibbs out for three weeks I hear…

Yesterday was only our 2nd clean sheet in the EPL this season.
So it’s clear where the problems lay.

  8. rico says:

I actually didn’t think any clubs appealed bookings, just sending off..

Morning Kev, 3 weeks for Gibbs, that’s rotten news.

Szczesny tried to prevent us getting that clean sheet…

  9. dublingunner says:

morning, jeez, have we even got 4 defenders fit for the next game, This is turning into a farce, really. Interesting to see wenger all smiles and joking with the media interview, yesterday, compared to last week, amazing what a win can do.
You,d wonder is there really a culture among referees, that they can secretly decide amongst themselves, teams that they should be lenient on,and teams they just dont like.

  10. rico says:

    Morning Dubin..

    Bellerin Chambers Merts Monreal..

We are hanging in their. Just!!

Won’t be long before Hayden gets his chance or the other CB from the reserves…

  11. BrainwashedKev says:

Potter, if we don’t get a fair shake, then we have nothing to lose…

I think that Adam put it the best a few weeks ago.
Basically Wenger should highlight it every time we get a bum wrap from the referee.
We’re getting sweet FA so what’s the point in just sitting back and getting shatt on, whilst not complaining.

  12. rico says:

If Wenger starts hanging the officials out to dry, he’ll just be accused of finding something/someone else to blame other than looking at the bigger picture.

And that’s what that journalist did, although I thought she just asked a few good questions, but we’ve been there…..

  13. rico says:

I can barely contain my happiness with that news Kev… 😉

If he returns and immediately plays in order to rest Welbeck, Campbell won’t be happy and neither will we…..

  14. dublingunner says:

Thin ice rico, Only burnley, Anderlecht and Swansea to play before international break. We should be ok,just. Hope we get gibbs and kos back before nov 22nd, 2 big games United on the saturday and dortmund on the wednesday.

  15. Xr!s says:

I think Kos will be back before/during the next international break. Let’s pray for no setback….

I think it’s time Welbeck and Alexis get some rest before they drop off. Yesterday’s performance was dreadful. Where did our passing game go to?

  16. rico says:

    Wenger said after Xr’s.

Spot on re Alexis and Welbeck, both should be on the bench for Burnley imo.

Same with Merts, he’s playing far too many games imo, but how can he be rested, unless AW puts some faith in Hayden, he wont be….

  17. dublingunner says:

Reading through some of piers morgans online tweets yesterday, I know he,s not everyones cup of tea, But 1 stood out to me. “If we had 11 players with the talent and hunger of sanchez, We,d win everything.” So true.

  18. Joaquim Moreira says:

How can I send my Curriculum to AW?
Welbeck now, start to understand what are the difference of playing in MU and in Arsenal. yesterday, was a clear fault and the defender probably could be punished if he had MU shirt; with Arsenal shirt, was marked an opposite fault and had the yellow card.
Podolsky saved us three days ago and didn’t play a minute yesterday…
    Campbell, almost the same.
    Prorbably they leaving on January…
    Our performance was poor yesterday.
Nobody is happen with this team, his quality and his performance.
Fortuanately for one side, we are out of League Cup; for other one, players like Rosicky, Campbell,Podorslki, etc maust play with more regularity.

  19. BrainwashedKev says:

Rico, there’s not a cat in shells chance of Wenger resting any of those players you mentioned.

Burnley or whoever, he’ll go with his strongest starting XI…
Wenger needs to maintain the momentum, as it is, and three wins on the trot will gradually see an improvement in confidence, as it is….

  20. agirlagunner says:

Boooo! How is everyone? One happy bunny here, never mind that we weren’t all that great last night. 🙂

Hi, ricooooo. I’ve missed you guys. 🙂 Howdy?

Cat in shells, Kev? 😀 The RSPCA will have you for that.

  21. potter says:

Yes I wanted to take a punt on him Rico but he has been injured so would have fitted right in with us. Anyway we have Welbeck now and Giroud and Theo to come back and our priorities lay elsewhere. I am sure that if we looked around the lower leagues there are bargains ,little diamonds to be found , not every signing has to break the bank as long as they are bought to do a job and they get to play where they are designated to .

  22. agirlagunner says:

Boo, Kev!! How’s driving? If you see Fabregas, run him down, please? He’s been too good for the Chavs. 😆

  23. agirlagunner says:

Kev, I meant the job I got after not having one for close to a year. Lol. 😛 No more shopping for me this year. I’ve maxed out my budget, I think.

  24. agirlagunner says:

Hello to Mrs Adam, too. 🙂 I hope she’s doing fab. 🙂

Kev, run down Arsene, then. 🙂

    HHCC date tomorrow?

  25. BrainwashedKev says:

Yes Adam, I’m looking forward to listening to Bridge of Sighs… 😛

I will text you when I’m on my way mate, so Mrs Adam can get the kettle on… 😀

  26. BrainwashedKev says:

Sorry Agag, I’ve got a few hundred cyclists to deal with first…

Yep, me too, saving for a rainy day… 🙁

  27. BrainwashedKev says:

My taxi garage is in Stratford, East London, close to the Westfield Shopping Centre…

Adam is only 15 minutes away so we’ll share a cup of cha Agag…

  28. rico says:

Potter – I couldn’t agree more with your earlier comment. Not every really good player has to cost us £30+ million…..

Sometimes, work ethic, spirit and commitment can come quite cheaply..

    Afternoon all…

    Good news Agag… 🙂

  29. Adam says:

What an ingratiating douche bag Chris Foy is. “Oh yes Jose, no Jose. Is there anything I can do for you Jose? Shall I kneel here Jose?”

  30. BrainwashedKev says:

    Night Rico…

If there is any justice in this world, then Chelsea won’t go through the EPL season, unbeaten….

  31. BrainwashedKev says:

Good to see Jon Toral scoring for Brentford.

Also noticed that Wellington Silva has been called up to the Brazillian U21’s…
Wonder if that lad could still have a future at Arsenal…???
I believe that he is under contract until 2016…

  32. BrainwashedKev says:

Rico, latest I’m reading on Gibbs, is that it’s 2 weeks out now!

Also that Giroud, Ozil, Ospina and Debuchy should all be back before Christmas.
    Fingers crossed…

    Don’t shoot the messenger… 😉

    Night All

    Morning Scott

    Morning Lee

  33. scottfromoz says:

I still want Dennis as our next manager!
I could not care one bit about his lack of flying.
    Top of the morning everyone.

  34. rico says:

Morning Scott, Adam, Kev, Lee and all…

I’ll have you know i’ve been up, fed my chickens and cleaned their house out this morning Scott… 😉

  35. Adam says:

Hi Scott. Not bad thanks. Yes, with the clocks going back at the weekend my own body clock is all over the place. I hope you and the family are well mate. Looking forward to seeing you back in London some time.

  36. scottfromoz says:

    All is well here, Adam.
Early next season is on my agenda for a return trip.
Morning Rico….you’re the ultimate early riser 🙂
    Where is Lee hiding?

  37. rico says:

Mornings are light again here Scott, always wakes me early which is rather annoying. Mind you, I was in bed very early last night….

  38. scottfromoz says:

    Hahahahaha.
    Could well be 🙂
I need some translating from Devil.
I had a chat to Sean’s coach today who was explaining how Sean’s something or other physical blah blah blah was in the top 2% of kids he’s ever coached.
I asked is that good, and he just smiled.
    Ok then lol.
The kids are. Ensured and weighed each month to ensure the workload doesn’t stunt their growth,…seriously, it can happen!!
I’m constantly astounded as to how in depth the coaching at this school is.

  39. scottfromoz says:

I was off work today so sat and watched them train, Rico.
    The kids lap it up.
They work their backsides off but laugh their way through the entire session.
    They’re thriving.
