As the dust settles, let's go and chase down third spot……

The dust is finally beginning to settle, following Tuesday night’s disappointing defeat by a rampant Bayern Munich…

Meanwhile the Media/Press Scum are having a field day, rubbishing Arsene Wenger, rubbishing Arsenal and in essence rubbishing us fans…

Nobody, but nobody, quite manipulates football fans quite like the English Press.

If they aren’t stabbing Roy Hodgson and the National side in the back, then they’re engaging in their favourite sport and traditional pursuit of slagging off all things Arsenal…

We’ve all (well most of us) been caught up and influenced at some time or other, by their games but recently they have plunged to new depths as they have attempted to crucify our manager, who, for all his perceived faults, is basically a decent man, with the kind of morals and standards that are sadly missing from many (British) managers we could all name.

Managers that are lionised by those same-self media scumbags…

Our manager, in his 16 years in English football, has treated the Media/Press with respect and patience, but in return, all he has received is ridicule, derision and mockery….

To say that I personally hate the Sports Press and Sports Media of this country, is an understatement of monolithic proportions…
But enough about the human effluent that pervades that profession.

Profession, now there’s an irony….

Arsenal now have 12 EPL games to negotiate. None of them will be interfered with due to cup ties…

So we can approach each one as a cup final, defeat in any of them, is not an option…

Looking at the fixtures, a risk I know, Arsenal have a great opportunity to not only catch and overtake Middlesex Hotspurs, but to leave them way behind.

Chelsea could be a tougher nut to crack, but as they have cup commitments, 3rd is not totally out of the question.
But there cannot be any more slip-ups…

Starting with Aston Villa this weekend, it’s going be a slog, there’s no room for a feast of football.

And whatever we fans may think about the club, I honestly believe that we have to put our differences behind us and get totally behind the team, and manager.

Arsenal can do this, but the team need the fans, we have to stay strong, unified and positive…

Sod the Press. Sod the Media…

Come On You Gunners…..

Finally some positive thinking! 5 points off 3rd with a team constantly in turmoil and another known to choke just ahead and no league defeats in our last four matches. There’s no reason to think we can’t or won’t climb the table. At first I wanted those teams to fall in the Europa league, but after some thought, I’m happy they have something to distract them while we ascend the table.

    Morning all…

Mighty fine read there Ak, hopefully it will lift a few spirits before tomorrows game.

If we don’t pick our game up, Arsenal could drive more of us to the spirits!!

I really think we should forget Bayern, concentrate on the PL and make sure we get and stay ahead of Totts at least…

  3. rico says:

Don’t know who you support Frank, but it clearly isn’t Arsenal, so your comment, sun and shine can go off together….

  4. Scott from Oz says:

Our destiny is in nobodies hands but our own now.
We know the Spuds will drop points from here on in, and we are close enough to take advantage.
On paper, and i know football is not played on paper, we have a very decent run in if we can find some consistency.
    Good morning everyone.

  5. Wavy says:

Stuck with the old goat ,then? Got to say, on balance, I am pleased. Don’t wanr to see him hounded out by a press driven hate campaign or a fewdisenchanted and ignorant fans. He has been outstanding as a manager and as ahuman being. A proper role model. You ca’t say that about many folk who are to be found in the world of football.
Stubborn to the end, which may not be the end! Got a feeling if he’s offered an extension in 2014 he’ll take it. I don’t think he will leave before old red nose drops off his perch!

  6. Adam says:

    Morning all. Nicely done Kev.
One of the good things about football is that the next game offers fresh hope and opportunity. We simply have to take it tomorrow. I have a particular distaste for Villa and their travelling bunch of Neanderthals although, come to think of it, I also feel that way about just about every other club. 🙂

  7. allezkev says:

Scott, there’s still many aspects of the running of the club, that i’m not happy about….
The role of Steve Bould, or the non-role as the case may be…
Why has Liam Brady resigned? That’s another concern.

But i’m damned if i’m going to continue to assist the Media/Press to castigate and denigrate my club…. Warts and all….

  8. rico says:

Morning to you all who have just crawled out from under your duvets 🙂

Scott, I mentioned that as some, me included, thought he might walk away this summer, seems that would be out of the question….

  9. southyorkshiregunner says:

Morning Kev, Adam, Rico and all

The Daily Star? A total poor excuse for a paper…. Our problems are down to Wenger allegedly having an affair in 2010 …..

  10. allezkev says:

Morning Adam, you going Saturday? Stoic to the last eh?

Kroenke visiting shows, i suppose, that the unrest among us fans, has reached out to Syrup as he ‘rides across the range’ in his 10 gallon hat…
Could his visit signify, finally, a loosening of the purse strings?

  11. rico says:

    😆 Adam.

Good Ak, nice to get things off the chest every once in a while…. Unless of course you are Posh Spice, if she did that they’d be nothing left of her 😉

  12. Kevin KJ Downton says:

AllezKev Great post Kev, so good to see things being put into persepective.

Same with Scott from Oz and D1. I love the positive Arsenal fans, well done boys. Brilliant supporters.

As I said last night, look at our record and compare it to some of the other so called big clubs and who exactly is in crisis? Okay we have had a tough eight years but we have achieved massive amounts in that time. That gets ignored by too many including some of our own fans.

You would think it was eight years struggling mid-table with nothing to show for it. Well you have been to the Emirates, you have seen Highbury finished, the state of the art training facilities and the new revenue streams so we can compete. You have watched uninterrupted Champions League Football during that time when we were skint.

Other clubs, like Spurs and Liverpool have yet to get their stadium projects underway, they know without a 60,000 seater they wont be able to compete. Remember, we had the disadvantage at the time of finding the money to develop Highbury as well but that was a major advantage although tied up our cash. BUT it has enabled us to wipe off large amounts of debt from the new stadium. Our rivals will have long term debt. Seriously, we are in a different place now to the rest.

I am telling you, forget the 8 years mantra, most of that ignores the positives, which is why I get frustrated. They would all bite their right arms off for 8 years acheiving what we have. Ignore the press, they are mischief makers and good news doesn’t sell papers. Get behind this great club, and our great Manager.

Beat Villa and watch Spurs and Chelsea drop points and it is game on. With the money we will finally have freed up for next season and the new revenue streams, great things are about to happen, mark my words. But every fan needs to get behind the team, that will looosen the first half nerves and give them the confidence they need.

  13. stevepalmer1 says:

    Morning all,
Another fine post AK, we have had a week of fine posts and i commend all those authors. I understand how you all feel and also take in that you all have done your best to paint our position as a bit of a dip. I appreciate how your all trying to give your readers some kind of hope and you enthusiasm is catching. This said i also have to be a bit of a Jonas. We are in trouble of that i have no doubts. Our team is not of the quality to actually challenge for anything, our defence is weak our midfield is also the same and we also pin our hopes on a young lad upfront who is not up to it. We have got weaknesses all over the park and Wenger has done nothing to change this. Arsenal is not a two bob club they charge enormous amounts for their tickets and they earn fantastic amounts. they spend very little on building a competetive team, and were a mile behind the teams at the top. Everything is in place for Arsenal to compete but we still endevour to sell our best and buy cheap, we have had our arses kicked by teams that should not hold a candle to us and all i hear is that we are lacking in confidence. We are now in the position of nearly being out of everthing worth winning and i now hear that he may spend next season. The filth are going like a house on fire while we are getting worse. Wenger has talked till his blue in the face if he cant build the players confidence then he should move over and let new blood have a go. With only twelve games left in this season he still hasn’t shown these players how to defend how to play midfield and also how to score. We are a laughing stock to most of our peers. And who can wonder why a club thats classed as the fifth richest in the world and we buy a left back who no one has heard of but sell our best striker. Alex Song never went down very well with any of you but i would rather see him than Sicknote Diaby. If your not going to replace with top talent then dont sell. Wengers had his day and its time to let him go .I can understand supporters Backing him but leave him here and we’ll be talking the same talk this time next year.

  14. Adam says:

Kev. I am always there mate. Rain or shine. I need something to moan about, as Mrs Adam always says.
Rico. You clearly haven’t noticed that Posh has had augmentation.
Given a choice I’m a Kelly Brook type bloke myself rather than the bone-bag that is Mrs B. I won’t even mention the divine Carol this morning as I know Kev is driving. 🙂

  15. Adam says:

Wenger’s statement “could” be interpreted as being a touch deluded. The club and team come first for me. It’s a results-lead business.

  16. southyorkshiregunner says:

It’s not been a “tough” 8 years KJ …. it’s been more of a “frustrating” 8 years …. because most Arsenal people who “know” their football, knew that all what were needed was good, solid and dependable players to back up the world class players we had to win trophies … …..Now it is the other way around …. We now need world class players to give us an edge …….

    Almunia,
    Eboue, Squillaci, Djorou, Santos
    Denilson, Diaby, Song,
    Park, Chamakh, Bendtner

I mean, that 11 is totally shite …

…… Fabregas, Nasri, RvP, Arshavin (as he was one of the world best) had to regularly carry that load of garbage

    And I could make a further 11 …..

  17. Scott from Oz says:

Kevin, we are all good supporters on HH 🙂
Different aspects, different showing of passion, but all good fans.

  18. frednerk says:

Morning Sir Stevo… We need some input from your powerful pen mate, i miss your posts…

Off to bed…..family bloody photos in the morning, and i DETEST being photgraphed.
The boss lady offered to get one with our Arsenal shirts on, so i relented!
    Night all…

  23. rico says:

Ha ha Ak, that will get Adam thinking…

Over the seasons we should have build a great team around Fabregas and then RvP but we didn’t, both were sold on…

Now Wenger can’t afford to blow, what might be his last chance, to build a great side around Jack Wilshere.

The difference with this lad is he IS a Gooner, he’s Arsenal through and through and what he has in his blood is priceless….

  24. tsGH says:

    Morning all,

A battle cry from Sir Ak. Excellent post and glad to have you back.

An extra point for the Middlesex Hotspur phrase. 😀

  25. rico says:

    That link doesn’t work Syg??

    Yes you can Adam…

No Lee this morning, I wonder if he has caught his wife’s bug….

  26. Lewis says:

    Good day Gooners!

Nice Positive post kev, well done.

I have to agree with SP’s 10:55, our team is a shambles and needs a lot of work. If we do manage to scrape our way into the top 4 again this season then Arsene has to address the glaringly obvious quality issues we have. As Adam stated, it’s a results business and our results over the past 3/4 seasons are not good enough, if it were any other manager they would have been shown the door. Arsene can’t dine out on previous successes forever!

  27. tsGH says:

KK in the monochrome tent she was wearing (in the DailyFail) was enough to get me out of my reptilian hole… lol

David Wood’s article definitely went in with the Krav Maga front kick technique…

  28. Lewis says:

Nice point on Jack Rico, this lad deserves to be playing alongside players that are at his level. Question is will he be given that chance with us? two or three more in this team of his quality and we could be a force, how long have we been saying that though?!

  29. Adam says:

That’s what I meant about delusion. It’s all very well to state that you have never thought about resigning but it does carry the suggestion that the world revolves around Arsene. Yes, we all know his history and accept that he loves the club but it’s the results that count. If they don’t improve drastically then the choice should be taken out of his hands.
The next few weeks will be crucial as to what happens next season and I hope that the board, or Gazidis or Stan, whoever makes the decisions at the club these days, have some serious contingencies in hand.
For me the nightmare scenario is more of the same. A terrible transfer window and a season kick-off with no real expectation of anything other than fortuitous draws in the domestic cups. That would be truly soul-destroying.

  30. tsGH says:

If I were to read between the lines, I think AW finally knows or accepts the quality of (most) some of our players are below top 6 credentials.

His body language when the 2nd goal went in just said this team are not good enough. Comparing his post match interview to the 4-0 thrashing at the San Siro last season where he was still bullish, AW for the first time admitted we are out of this competition.

Since the fall away in February 2008 when we should have won the league if the ‘Eduardo’ had not happened, AW and most supporters of his principles like myself have hidden behind the unfortunate occurrences of having injuries to key players in January, February.

However, for the first time since 2006 we do not have any major injuries so being the man he is, who believes in following trend data, he knows after this FC Bayern loss that we do not have the squad.

The painful thing is that apart from the Norwich and Bradford loses, I do not think a team has beaten us but rather we have lost matches due to being very poor in aspects of our game such as making poor passes.

  31. rico says:

But Adam, there lies another problem, SK has reassured AW that his job is safe.

All the time the board have such little direction, we can expect the manager to be the same…

I know we have said this before, but this really is his last summer…..

  32. Adam says:

Has he though Rico, or is to present a united front? He can’t really say that, unless results improve, Arsene is toast can he?

  33. tsGH says:

It is a lie if he said he never thought of resigning from Arsenal. Maybe not this season, however, Carlo Ancelotti even said that he took the PSG job in the last week in August 2011 because, he was told by PSG that AW was going to take over and he was expecting to be interviewed for AW’s post that year.

I also know that he had his flat surveyed ready for selling that summer. The fact that Stan flew in and ordered Nasri off the flight to Udinese was a major blow to him too and that was when he probably decided enough is enough.

This was what was reported on Arsenal.com

Arsenal agreed terms with Manchester City for the purchase of the midfielder on Tuesday, just before the Emirates Stadium side departed to Udinese and a crucial Champions League Play-off second leg tie.
Nasri trained with the side that morning and, as against Liverpool at the weekend, would have lined up against the Italian outfit if selected. He did not know that Wenger made up his mind on the move just before the session. Later, the manager said he was reluctant to let the 24-year-old go but admitted he had to be “a realist” given the French international would have been able to leave on free transfer at the end of next season and able to sign a pre-contract in January.
“Samir trained on Tuesday morning,” said Wenger. “But I knew before training. He didn’t know, the decision was made this morning just before training. He came in to practice.
“I don’t question Samir Nasri’s commitment or professionalism. If I told him ‘you come with us and play’, he would have played like he did on Saturday but you wonder what kind of a commitment you can have.
“Football rules are made like that, that the player can be worth a lot of money today and nothing in six months so it doesn’t look completely logical but, at the end of the day, of course, we are forced into a decision like that for psychological and financial reasons.
“I am a realist so I have no illusions. It’s part of the modern life of a professional football player. It’s not that by coincidence that everybody suddenly lands at Man City.
“We did not want to lose Fabregas, but we were forced into a situation we didn’t want. Nasri is a situation where the player didn’t want to extend his contract with the proposals he had somewhere else. What kind of commitment can you have when the player is not there long-term? That is the question you have to answer.”

  34. rico says:

Good point Adam, maybe… Summer changes then maybe…

Ts, he should have realised that a while ago – each season we have far too many duds, Dud which he supports and persists in playing…

But oddly enough, I think this squad is one of the best he has had in a long while, he just doesn’t know how to get the best from them.

If he could, we’d have beaten Bayern….

I hate Stewart Robson, but much of what he says is true….

  35. Adam says:

Success on the pitch is at the heart of everything. Football and financial. Wenger must bring all his resources to bear on this, including recruiting as much help as he can get. Leave the financial aspects of the club to those who earn a bloody fortune to manage them. Get a winning team and do it bloody soon while you still have the hearts of the supporters longing to believe again.

  36. emma says:

    Good post allez

We all know the media have an agenda against us and arsene. Mancini swearing in a press conference, why is it not a breaking news? If it was arsene that made such a statement, all the media outlets would have gone gong-ho by now.

This squad needs 4/5 quality players to challenge for the title next season. We definitely need a DM which should be the number 1 priority not the players (5’8″) we currently have (arteta, ramsey) playing in that position. Our back four are not properly protected because the current players (arteta, ramsey) lack the necessary experience to play in that position as well as not being physically strong enough.
We need a striker. A Physical and technical gifted striker with pace(quicker version than Giroud). Because of the system we are playing, this striker should be able to hold up play and play with his back to goal.
We need a goalkeeper. Goalkeeper wins you games and not cost you games. Lets not deceive ourself, Sczenzny I doubt will be better than what he is right now if he doesn’t get competition for his place.
We need a CB. Vermaelen is now becoming a joke. He has cost us more this season less than Santos. Not joking after watching the bayern match for the 2/3rd time. Vermaelen’s positioning was awful. I can count a whole lot of matches his kung fu clearance has cost us, lack of awareness when he plays in the CB or LB position. He doesn’t act like a captain on the pitch
Mert’s reading of the game is fantastic but the issue is his snail pace. Our best CB is koscielny. I only hope we can get a reliable CB with fantastic reading of the game and pace to pair with him

  37. frednerk says:

Footballs a revolving door for managers, including fergie
he got lucky with David, scoles ect.
Fergie new that managers go stale,so he changed the coaches every now and then.
Wenger had 8 winning years and up to now 8 losing years,
we have gone out of 2 cups this week.

Wenger just can’t let go of our club ,even if it might be the wise thing to do.
he could’nt give a toss really about us supporters,he knows exactly the feeling among our fans.

If he really loved The Arsenal he would go upstairs or walk.

  38. Adam says:

Fred. It’s hard to argue against any of that. But I doubt if, in a Wenger-centric world, he could see things in quite that way. To admit that he has lost it, whatever the “it” is, would be practically possible for him to come to terms with.

  39. bondex says:

One of the best things I read about arsenal in a long long tym…I miss you guys a lot @ HH but my work won’t allow much time… Cheers guys.

  40. frednerk says:

After 2 years of resisting joining the anti wenger brigade, the last 2 windows have made me change my opinion.
As I have said on hear before,
No one at this club has the power to take him on(£)

  41. Kevin KJ Downton says:

emma Another brilliant post, I agree with most of what you say. Again! Sczesney is too young, we need an experieinced top keeper, he is making too many mistakes. Someone he can number two and learn from. A proper defender a unit, the same in midfield. And for heavens sake a world class striker. Having said that, love to see Podolski played up top, he is wasted out wide.

Rico, Rico, Rico please cheer up!! No way do I beleive you actually think most of what Stewart Robson is sense. He has an axe to grind big time and feeds the filthy press and medias anti-arsenal agendas. That’s why they love him, he’s a nobody. I agree wholeheartedly about the duds but now we should be able to go for the big hitters. Next season will be defining, either way.

  42. rico says:

Def agree re Fergie and his ever changing assistants fred, but as a friend said to me not long ago, Wenger wouldn’t accept such help, as by doing so it means he isn’t as good as he thinks he is..

    Foolish man….

Hi bondex. You need a new job 😉 Take care

  43. allezkev says:

I see that Newcastle are having a French weekend, to celebrate all things French….
And to celebrate a Newcastle team full of Frenchmen/French Africans….

    And the Press/Media love it….

Can you imagine the response from those degenerates if Arsenal had had a French weekend?

The club and our manager would have been accused of destroying the English National team, notwithstanding ‘their’ usual behaviour to England and England managers.
Wenger would have been accused of not bringing through English talent.
Arsenal would have slagged from pillar to post…

Alain d’Pardew does it, and it’s just fine….

Yes the same d’Pardewc who criticised Wenger for fielding an Arsenal XI devoid of English players…

Slipped your memory did it Alain???

    You stinking hypocrit…..

  44. allezkev says:

Fred, the reason nobody takes him on, is because Dein isn’t there anymore to persuade him…

    I blame Fizsman and Hill-Wood for that….

If Kroenke brought Dein back into the fold, i would celebrate by buying a ginger syrup…

  45. Kevin KJ Downton says:

    allezkev
Hee hee!! You are so spot on about Newcastle and the French thing – if that was Arsenal we would be slaughtered in the press. Imagine if Harry or a Scots manager had won what he has, produced the football he has, qualified for Champions league every season and built the only ‘Invincibles’. Even his dog would have been given a Knighthood (to go along with his bank account and credit cards). The anti-French does contribute to the anti-Arsenal agenda, I agree.

    Southyorkshiregunner
Just because I do not agree with your point, please do not accuse me of not knowing football. Thats a poor attempt to say you are right and anyone disagreeing is wrong. We all have different views, there are the anti-Wenger, pro-Wenger and those in the middle. That’s fair enough, it’s our club we have a right to an opinion.

I was born in 1963, played semi-pro, currently manage a team at reasonable level and think i ‘know’ my football. I am sure we all do. We are all entitled to have different opinions, that is life and that is football. Come on mate, this is a friendly forum and we all love the same thing, don’t we? We can’t let our individual frustrations make us devisive, too much of that going on already and that is not helping matters.

And as for listing the dud Wenger has bought, how about being balanced and list the greats he has given us too? Vieira, Petit, Edu, Anelka, Lauren, Gilberto, Robbie Pires, Freddie, Jens Lehmann, Thierry Henry (Apologies to those I have missed). He did also create the Invincibles, even old red nose with the referees in his pocket hasn’t done that.

  46. rico says:

Sorry to disappoint you Kj, I do believe a lot of what he says is true, not all mind you but a lot.

    Hi Rocky…..

Fred, depends on who scores first I reckon….

  47. allezkev says:

    1963, you’re just nippers Rico… 😉

    Now Wath, that’s another matter, he’s ancient….

    Where is that bugger?

  48. allezkev says:

  51. frednerk says:

Let’s say wenger is allowed to honour his contract by the board(gotta laugh when I say that).
Surely he won’t be allowed to spend the so called 70 million.
(sorry gotta laugh at that bit an’all) on player’s,
with only 1 year to go on his(I do not break) contract.

Imbue it with a huge dose of hypocrisy jointly obtained from Tony Blair and George Galloway.
That’s Anglo-Frenchman Alan Pardew that is.

  55. Kevin KJ Downton says:

Allezkev Agree again, where that damn ‘like button’? I think we should all have a whip round and get David Dein back. Watched him on the Footballers Football show with Purslow (Liverpool) and Gold (WHU), it was brilliant. he made some great points, especially regarding players contracts and just how overpaid they have become. The board should beg Dein to come back.

Adam 4:33 great post. Again where is that ‘Like’ button.

Rico Lets agree to diagree but please can we have a ‘like’ button. Do we all need to vote for one?

Dave replies ” My Mrs has banned me from going. I got my hat and baseball cap on to go and she stood in front of the door arms folded and told me she wasn’t letting me out of the house.”

“Jesus bud, that’s out of order. My wife tried that one. I said I am off to the Lane, she said you’re not and it went on for a while until I picked her up, threw her over my shoulder and marched her up to the bedroom. I threw her onto the bed, lifted her skirt up and slapped her hard on the backside. Never stopped me going since mate. Give it a try”

Three months later they bump into each other. ” Hi Dave, still ‘aint seen you down the Lane, didn’t you try my piece of advice?”

Oh yeah, I did what you said. I told her, “I’m off to footie, she said ‘you aint’, I said “I am”, she said “you aint”, so I picked her up, threw her over my shoulder and marched her up to that bedroom. I threw her onto the bed, lifted her skirt up and then I thought ……well they havn’t won a league title for 52 years and it isn’t going to change anytime soon…….!”

  58. agirlagunner says:

Kev, 🙂 Lovely feathers, eh? Who is Carol Vorderman??

Adam, I am sure those letters are NOT for public consumption. 🙂

Hahaha, KJ. I couldn’t take it if the Spurs won anything. 😉 Eeeek.

  59. Adam says:

Agag. She is a former winner of The Rear Of The Year competition and the poster girl for all middle-aged women who cram themselves into dresses that are at least 2 sizes too small.

  60. rico says:

I think JW got fed up with some of us being negative, or realists is how I see it..

Kj, I can’t seem to find the like option ‘behind the scenes’ on WP, so sorry, can’t do it….

  61. agirlagunner says:

Ahhh, I see. A bodycon dress type. 😀 😀 What did you cook?

    rico, “shopping”… That’s nice. 😛

  62. Adam says:

Fresh ginger, garlic, red chillies made into a paste. Into the work with lots of crab, Bok Choi and Soy sauce, then a load of cooked noodles. Boom. Very nice for an early, spicy supper and one of Mrs Adam’s favourites.

  63. Kevin KJ Downton says:

Rico No problem, thanks for trying.

Allezkev Great Gravatar….! (He says clicking on the imaginery like button).

  64. agirlagunner says:

That sounds mouthwatering. 🙂 You should go to Thailand. Or Vietnam. Best food in SEA. I had some so-so pancit for dinner.

  65. Adam says:

Pancit. I looked it up and it sounds great. Is Philipino food very spicy? And should it be Filipino with an F? 🙂

  66. allezkev says:

KJ, i could have gone tomorrow, but i have to work after having a few days off…

But i have my ticket for the NLD Saturday week, and i’m quite looking forward to visiting that bearpit….
It reminds me of when i used to live in Tottenham and how much i really dislike that club….
All those old feelings of apathy to the Middlesex mob come flooding back when i enter that horrible stadium. It really is a dump…

  67. agirlagunner says:

It’s with an “F”, Adam. Our food is generally not spicy (except in the Bicol region where everything is). Very mellow flavors.

AK, I am happy I don’t know any Spuddy. I remember the DVD released when they beat us. Tacky.

  68. allezkev says:

Agag, you are blessed not knowing any Spuddies…

I am surrounded by them, family and friends, but once we get onto football, i cut them to ribbons, plenty of ammunition to put them in their place, lasagne usually does the trick…. 😉

  69. allezkev says:

That’s me finished for the day, see ya Agag, Adam, Rico, KJ, and Gooners….

Back up to London, great joy….

  70. agirlagunner says:

Great to hear, Kev. 😀 I met an Englishman when I was traveling once, and he laughed when I said I was an Arsenal fan. I asked him whether he was a Chav, and he visibly bristled. “You have the look of a Chav about you.”, I told him. As he sputtered with rage, I walked away. I have no time for them. 😀 😀

  71. Kevin KJ Downton says:

Allezkev. I lived in Tottenham and went to school behind that dump. Walked past it every day. Can you imagine, born in Highbury (cannonbury road) but aged 8 my Dad bought a house in Tottenham and sent me to Northumberland Park School. So I grew up there and moved away when I was twenty two (1985). That’s why the whining Arsenal fans drive me mad, we were hopeless then and on a par with Spurs, so their fans were unbearable, you know what they are like at the best of times. Imagine some of our fans then, they would have burnt Highbury down!

  72. agirlagunner says:

rico, I did it through gravatar just now because I remember you telling me to do it that way. 😛 😛

Adam, I am not to be messed with; fans of Non-Entities (chavs, mancs, scum) have no right to comment about my club. None. 😉

  73. agirlagunner says:

    Good night, guys. 🙂 🙂

rico, I plucked a few feathers from your chickens and stuck them in my shoe. 😛 😛

Adam, I’m targeting 2014; last year was a bit travelly for me. Must save up. Ick 😕

  74. Scott from Oz says:

    Morning everyone.
I agree we are nowhere near the level required, but believe a few new players, the RiGHT new players, are all that is needed to bring everything together.
Wholesale changes can do more damage than good.
GK…yes, i have softened there, but Szczesny is too comfortable.
    CB….yep
DM….definitely, but i would still try Vermaelen there first.
Striker….i didn’t think this was such a major issue until recently.
Blackburn, having 1000 shots to one proved it, and even v Bayern, we cold easily have 3-4 goals.

  75. Scott from Oz says:

A win will see all forgotten…nah, not quite 🙂
Still, as things stand, 4th spot is our target, and a win v Villa can hopefully start a winning run.

  76. rico says:

A win = a win and no more for me Scott. I just want us to get our heads down and get at least 3rd…

After that, see where we are and what happens…..

  77. rico says:

Right o you fine folk, it’s Friday night, so I am heading off out….

You all be good, have a good night and stay safe……

    Night all…..

  78. W.A.T.H says:

Seems you have all gone off to bed eat or pub but so I’ll merely talk to myself… a lot of utter rubbish written on here today merely because…….
Lets believe we have no money to spend…. yawn……………..
Lets all think we only have to compete and outspend the chavs and the oilers… yawn………….
Who said we had to spend beyond our means….?
All we want is spend what we make and what we have and if you fall for the spin then so be it…!

There are so many gullible people around…!

  79. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Allezkev

The reason the “Media/Press Scum” are what they are is because it sells well in England. So the English sporting public need to take some blame for why the:

“The media is washed up, its absolute shit” Paul Weller, The Jam 😀

But there is no use complaining about it, that is their reward for winding you up. The best way to stick it right up those clowns is to win, win win!!!!!! Unfortunately though I think Arsene Wenger just doesn’t understand the rules of engagement anymore by letting them get to his soft underbelly, hence, the evergrowing numbers of Gooners calling for him move aside.

  80. Scott from Oz says:

Wenger has said we CAN spend 40 million on Falcao.
Even i can not defend stupid comments like this.
We do not care what the club CAN do, we care about what it DOES do.
    Arsene, enough already.
    Good morning all.

  81. Lee says:

    Morning all….snowing here in Colchester!
I was really busy at work yesterday I haven’t caught the lurgy from mrs L…..yet!
Be lovely to spank those brummie wankers and leg draggers get turned over by the hamsters! Throw in a hammy for Tom Daley….carlsberg doesn’t do football results but you never know!!!! 😆

  82. allezkev says:

    Morning Gooners
    Morning Rico, Lee.

It was snowing quite heavy last night, driving up the M20.
Not exactly 1963, but bloody cold this morning.

  83. rico says:

Morning Ak, there will never be another 1963 😉

It is cold though, bitterly cold. That lot in red and white will have their gloves on, that’s for sure….

    New Post is now up…
