Arsene Wenger’s parting gift for fans isn’t nice….

Morning all.

There was little different on show yesterday than there’s been for most of the season. A slow start, poor defensive work and awful passing. But hey, for once it was nice to watch on without frustration or anger. This predictable style of football will soon be over and something different will replace it. It might be great football, it might not be but it’ll be different.

West Ham had the better opportunities early in the game but we took the lead in the second half thanks to Monreal but didn’t manage to hold on for too long. Arnautovic brought the scores level with a good strike which Ospina had little chance of stopping. In a seven minute flurry towards the end of the game Ramsey made it 2-1 after his cross curled into the back of the net after being ignored by Rice and Hart. Rice actually ducked, no doubt expecting his keeper to take control which was hilarious. Lacazette then finished off the visitors with two more before the end. Game over and Wenger’s penultimate home match ended well.

I’m sure those of us watching yesterday’s match did so wondering who our new manager might keep and who could go. Who just needs better coaching and direction, who is simply a lost cause.

The two pictured above I’m sure will be more than quietly confident their Arsenal future is secure. When the two are on the pitch together they work well and it was no great surprise to see Lacazette improve after Aubameyang came off of the bench to replace Iwobi. As for the rest, perhaps only Ramsey and Elneny will feel marginally safer than the rest.

As much as we can expect a number of comings and goings this summer, I can’t see a mass exodus on the cards. That’s more likely to occur over the next few transfer windows. Even Pep Guardiola needed three transfer windows to assemble a Premier League winning team, one which still isn’t good enough to win the Champions League. Not this season anyway.

So we’ll need to be patient as there’s no quick way to fix what Arsene Wenger is leaving behind. As said yesterday though, a coach with a ounce of defensive ability will be a great start. We have one in Steve Bould, we had one in Martin Keown but one either has little input or he’s failing, the other was hoofed out years ago after being credited for our journey to the Champions League Final back in 2006. That raises another question though, will Steve Bould be kept on under the new management, the rest of the coaching staff too or will the new guy go for a clean slate, bringing his own team in with him?

So many questions which will soon be answered.

Finally, Arsene Wenger has been quoted as saying a few things after the game. Was he relieved to be leaving?

“No, because I was not tired. But, personally I believe that this club is respected all over the world, much more than in England.

“Our fans did not give the image of the unity I want at the club all over the world and that was hurtful because I feel the club is respected and overall the image we gave from our club is not what it is and not what I like.”

Referring to the fans he said he was: “ready to suffer to make them happy”

I get it, he didn’t want to leave but to take a swipe at the fans is cheap and wrong. Arsene Wenger has had the backing from the majority of fans for most of his career. It’s only been in the last eighteen months, two years before this campaign kicked off, that grumbles of unhappiness could be heard inside The Emirates and that’s because fans are sick and tired of watching yet another season unfold as those before had. Arsenal had become predictable, Arsene had become predictable too in everything he was doing. We’d lose a few early games in August and September, then again in November and by the time Christmas arrived we were usually out of the Premiership race already. The turn of the year brought with it more defeats, a hefty Champions League defeat to dump us out of Europe followed by a mini revival as we chased down a top four place. Sometimes we’d still be in the FA Cup and would go on to win it but apart from last seasons success, we’d been more than fortunate to ge5 to the final in the first place.

Arsene Wenger has had years to change things, to improve things and keep the fans happy but he chose to bury his head in the sand. He could have got help but he chose not to, just like he chose not to do a lot of other things too.

He might feel hurt right now but he shouldn’t be blaming the fans for giving up on him. In fact he should be grateful they didn’t turn on him big time and a long time ago too. He should be thankful that all he got was empty seats to look at and read about a few lightweight protests because had he been at any other club, he’d have got a lost worse thrown his way, that’s for sure.

His feelings have been hurt, but what about us, the fans? Has given an ounce of thought to how we feel and how we’ve felt for the last five/ten years?

No, not for one minute I suspect, yet we’re the ones who give our time and vast amounts of money to watch the rubbish he’s been serving up consistently. Unlike him who gets paid £8 million a year or something like that to serve it up…

But doesn’t that all just sum him up? Ever since the day David Devin left, Arsenal Football Club has been all about him.

There’s certainly to ‘I’ in team and there’s no ‘team’ in Arsene Wenger!

Anyway, now I’m looking forward to Thursday and the match against Atlético Madrid.

It was also wrong for the fans to take parting shots at Wenger .It’s a two way street and yes he had every right to say that especially when none of us knew what was going on yet still felt the need to act as if we knew what was going on.

  2. Sean says:

By the way if cursing Arsene Wenger and praying that he gets cancer isn’t bad enough that I don’t know what is.People have to accept the consequences of their actions not try to justify by saying I paid good money! So the fuck what I pay good money too and I have flights to consider as well yet I never felt the need to abuse him , maybe I come form a different background where you appreciate what you have.

  3. SA Gunner says:

Wenger’s sell-by date was 4 to 5 seasons ago, but Gazidis recognized his qualification in economics as this is good for his pocket, but failed to admit his inability as a soccer manager… Gazidis must take at least part of the blame for Arsenal’s continued sinking into the mire of mediocrity.

Morning Rico and all. Good post again it seems to cover all the “cracks”!

I’ve just posted what follows on yesterday’s post but it has as much relevance to today’s, I think.

By blaming the fans it is his get out clause. The Teflon King strikes back! Clearly it was not his fault nor the team’s failure to win any games away from home since Christmas. No, it was all the fans fault that he got levered out from behind his comfy desk. And thereby hangs the real problem he has lost his vision. His one eyed view of how to play the game may have worked 20 years ago, even 10 but not today. He was the author of contemporary football but now his accolites have all caught up and overtaken him! He should be flattered. What’s more he should have retired 4 years ago, realising that soccer had become a young man’s game, and was something he was/is not!
It’s hard, the aging process. It has a tendency to skew ones views of the world and even ones place in it. Wenger, I think has rejected the fact that he is approaching old age and, rather than embracing it and letting his life move on, he has deluded himself into the false world of fantasy youth!
We said on here that he had lost his mojo some years ago, I have seen no sign of its resurrection this side of 2010!
Sadly he’s past it, it happens but, of course it is much easier to blame others than admit and own up to ones own failures and faults. Shame but there we are.
Will Arsenal rise like a Phoenix from the fire? I hope so, I really hope so, although it may take several years and an awful lot of cash for us to even return to the ‘top 4’! A little patience may have to be laid out before we reap the buds/blooms of success.
The manager has left, long live the new man! (So long as it’s not Brenda!!)

    Dull here and much cooler.

  5. rico says:

SA Gunner, Imo, everyone on the board, including the owner have to take some portion of blame for allowing his tenure to go on for so long. But it is what it is now and the changes are coming so I’m just thankful for that..

  6. optimist hablia says:

Modern day football is business, no matter how you look at it. If clubs are not making money from the business, how do you expect them to buy the big players Arsenal fans want to see? How do you grow to the level of clubs like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Manchester United? What about new forces like Chelsea, Manchester City, PSG and Monaco? Where do they get the money from? Can somebody tell Arsenal actually have the money in place to compete favourably with all those clubs? I really don’t think so, I might be wrong ofcourse. What Arsenal need to do is to work around expanding their business and ensuring that the club become competitive at a sustainable level, not a situation of you rise today and tomorrow you are down. We neeed to be stronger and ensure consistent top level competetion financiially.

  7. rico says:

    TV money, ST sales, merchandise…..

Ok, we don’t have the likes of Roman and the City owners money, but we have plenty to be spent and to be fair, Wenger has spent a lot over recent years.

With him though, as much as some of his signings look as if they haven’t worked out, the way he coaches/plays them, has been the biggest failing I think.

  8. potter says:

optimist hablia .. Hombre , money is important but it’s not the be all and end all. , it’s not so much what you pay for players but how you use them. Sanchez , Ozio, Lacazette , Aubayangman were not cheap but they were all in one perspective. Wenger lost sight of the other end of the pitch. He bought in two keepers for peanuts , paid £2 million for Holding , Kolasinac was a freebie , Mavropolous under £2 million.

His obsession with going forward and his neglect of his defence was his downfall and the fans could see it. Did he ever watch Mustafi before he bought him. ?Did he see a ball watching centre back or one that could bring a ball out and pass ? I suggest he saw the latter.Had he forgotten the way that Vieira and Petit extended the life of Adams and Bould as centre backs by the way they protected the back 4 . Seems so .

He became infatuated with Xavi , Iniesta and Messi and tried to create his own version here but did not have the players needed. As ever he forgot that Busquets , Pujol , Alves , Mascherano and Pique were there also and they kept things tight at the other end.
It was the lack of adaption to realise that although in a cup final when both teams attack we could outplay our rivals , when we played the teams that let us come on and then counter our defence would get continually caught out , just as they have done away from home all this season.

  9. Le Coq Monster says:

How many goals have so far conceded in league ?…………………………………………..only 26 conceded when we last won the league !………………need a defense and a defensive shield, keep saying it but to have a chance of winning the league over 38 games you need to be hard to beat first and foremost. Without the wealth of the you know who we need someone like Simeone who will make us more disciplined and organised……………………….now I hope that is the killer jinx when we thrash A Madrid 6-0 ! hahaha

  10. allezkev says:

Good post Rico, critical, but respectful.

Arsene Wenger was also respectful but critical of the fans, it’s understandable that he is going to feel some bitterness towards the fans as their actions, in not going to the games, has accelerated his demise.

It has also embarrassed the club that has steadfastly claimed the tickets sold when the stadium is clearly half empty.

It was a silent protest by the fans, the fans who put their money where their mouths are and as customers of the Arsenal franchise are absolutely entitled to act as they wish, within the bounds of decency.

But let’s be certain about this, the reason Arsene Wenger is leaving Arsenal is because of the results and the repetitive problems the team have suffered for the last couple of seasons, especially away from home.

Arsene is very good at distracting attention away from unpalatable facts and that’s a fact.

I don’t remember Arsene mentioning the fans when his team and his preparations and tactics were blown away 10-2 by Bayern. Whose fault was that?

    The referee?
    Mother’s Day?
    Easter?
    Snow?
    Brexit?

As for insults on the Web, it’s down to personal choice.

If you wish to frequent Twitter or Facebook or certain types of blogs, then you get what you deserve.

I don’t go on certain blogs and I don’t do social media.
So I never indulge in that shit and insidious garbage that sees Wenger death wishes and the like, that have been mentioned on here today, it’s another world and one that I can quite happily live without, thank you….

Personally I am very optimistic about the future, maybe it’s because I’ve lived through managerial changes at Arsenal before, but many new fans have not and their anxiety is normal and understandable.

But the sky will not fall in when Arsene leaves, it didn’t when Herbert Chapman died in office in 1934 or when Tom Whittaker died in office in 1956 (I think).
Nor did Arsenal collapse in 1976 when dear old Bertie Mee retired, or when George Graham was dismissed in 1994.

Arsenal are what matters, individuals come and go, they pass on through, but the club will carry on, as it has done for over 110 years.

  11. frednerk says:

    Afternoon Rico and All

Arsene blaming the locals just shows you,
giving up seats £100 and more a go was a protest
on the bad performances from his team.

He reckons overseas fans are happier than us
and are much more respectful to him.
What about our team getting stuffed big time
every year in europe..Is that what he means?

To some your maybe right in saying It’s business,
But for me It’s My football club.
    The Arsenal..Not The Arsene.

  12. allezkev says:

Fred, it’s a generational thing, we left Arsenal Football Club behind at Highbury.

Arsenal KSE franchise resides at the Emirates.

It’s a worldwide phenomenon now, it’s all about the big bucks, it’s not what I want, even if it’s great to see so much worldwide interest in ‘my team’, it’s the Premier League, it’s SKY, it’s BT, it’s Super Sunday, it’s not ours anymore, but if we want to compete it’s what it is…

  13. Meerkat says:

Anything AW said was put under a microscope. I thought to the questions asked, he responded well. What could he say? He was asked blatant questions about how the fans criticism made him feel.
I agree we th Sean from an earlier post, when he said it works both ways, he’s still receiving lots of critical opinions but his response was reserved not critical. People seem to be looking for something that’s not there in his interview. We need to show some empathy here, he has been given the boot. What would any of us say in similar circles circumstances? **+#%**¥#%€$¥*
We’ve got what we want, change, so ffs give the guy a break. It’s over, move on.
As for him looking like an old stray, when I said he still looked the dogs Bollux, Rico, that is so demeaning. Did he not look so much better than his competitive manager, David Moyes? He has a style that is above criticism. Perhaps too much of a gent really.
I hope the digs and outright abuse stops now. It’s over, leave the guy alone. He will be deluged with questions for the next few weeks so he may say something wrong, I doubt it, but does it really matter? Enough to say he loves Arsenal.
I won’t be commenting on the dissection of every utterance in every interview to read between the lines that’s for sure.
He tried to create a budget Barcelona and failed.

Like LcM, I would love Simeone, who is the antithesis of AW. He looks like a street fighter! He would certainly get the defence sorted and kick a few up the arse.

  14. frednerk says:

For me Kev a couple of bad seasons and
we would back to the Highbury days.
Look at Leeds, look at Italy the empty stadiums
    for every game.
We have fans who can pay the big prices,
the real fans are being frozen out.
The model that works is the german one
    70/80,000 crowds cheap season tickets
and standing area’s.That is what I want.
Sky and BT is what is driving the Premier
but the other leagues the supporters are
    happy.
I’ve been going around the grounds this season
in the lower div’s,the fans love it.

  15. micko says:

rico, walk in wardrobe or not, the man is full of sourness, the summer holidays can’t come quick enough, he must have some time in leiu ffs !

  16. allezkev says:

Yeah, I can’t disagree with any of that Fred.

I would love to see safe standing reintroduced.

I think that the scum have been forward thinking in incorporating one large stand behind a goal, a bit like Borussia Dortmund, with an eye on the stadium atmosphere and maybe with safe standing in mind.

  17. Paddywhack says:

Good post Rico. I reckon he will go to Everton when that chewing gum chewer of a fat bloke gets fired.

  18. Le Coq Monster says:

Even though In theory the German model seems the best with no majority shareholder being able to own more than 49% shares and the rest 51% being owned by fans ( I hope I`ve got that right !) ………………it doesn`t stop B Munich monopolising the Titles, they have won the last 6 !…………..so why is it not a great leveller if fans own 51% ?

Here CFG will own the whole lot with the money they have, expect them club repeating what Bindippers and Manshafter have done in the past, eveyone else scrapping for CL places and flukey cup wins.

It`s like Formula One……………the best cars will most likely win, if they all had the same car and engine then the best driver, the cream would come to the top.

My hope although a no chance one would be for some sort of draft system as in NFL, but with money instead where the bottom team above relegation gets more money from the sponsors.SKY, BT etc and the top teams gets peanuts !.
Some leveller is needed and I should imagine every single person (and married person 🙂 ) on HH has a great idea how something could be introduced let alone the whole football world, but it`s all about the rich getting richer and this includes our own club along with the so called other top 6 trying to get a bigger slice of the TV money, if nothing happens then CFG will have a free run, they will be the new Celtic !

  19. potter says:

Your quite right Kev. For our generation TheAFC finished when the doors of Highbury closed after the Wigan game. We moved to the Emirates and tookup our new places and looking around saw many of the faces that we had known for years. Slowly but surely they have disappeared and their replacements are a different breed. This is their Arsenal now ,ours is gone.

  20. rico says:

    Afternoon Fred, all.

Thanks Kev. I’m optimistic too, very. Just knowing something different is around the corner is exciting.

Meerkat, you do take everything literally, I was being ironic although he does look quite ill these days and no smart suit will hide that.

Micko, with you there, sad I know to wish the days away but I guess that’s what he’s done. It’s going to be odd though seeing a different face in the dugout..

  21. Le Coq Monster says:

Mikel would be one of my favourites after Simeone for the pure reason as I once posted before……………………he will know all of Peps ideas, tactics, coaching etc` add that he knows Arsenal like the back of his hand and you have a potential match made in heaven………………………if only he had access to the same amount of money that Pep has !……………………the big hurdle that cannot be jumped whilst Kroenke still invests £0M`s.

Exciting times ahead, but be prepared to be disappointed without the investment…………………….

  22. allezkev says:

Maybe Arteta is being lined up as an assistant Rico, I can’t see him being given the main job.
Arteta returning could mean Steve Bould going…

Yes Potter, it’s all very middle class and nicey nicey at the Emirates.
But as with the audience at the Royal Opera House, they new crowd won’t respond until the players get them excited.

  23. Le Coq Monster says:

Yes Arteta would be a gamble even allowing for the advantage points I made, but it would be an exciting one showing Arsenal have some balls. but look at the others other than Simeone, the big front runners are with teams that are with team or been with them………………………Enrique took over a batten at Barca, already a great team and massive club……………….Allegri……. another massive club with a history of winning titles !
I still maintain that most of us could manage a club as big as CFG and the rest with the money and power they have , lets face it, Joaquim Moreira could manage Celtic from the comfort of a pool lounger in Portugal and win the SPL without taking his toes out of the pool !
    🙂

  24. rico says:

Me neither Kev, he’d be a big risk. Just because he’s worked a while with Pep, doesn’t mean to say he’d make a great manager, not yet.

  25. rico says:

Lc, contracts mean little really these days, other than a assurance that the employing club earn a lot of money if they move on..

  26. Kk says:

There is nothing wrong with middle class?
I agree that football has changed from what it was 20 or 30 years ago. .

Not only in England, but I believe all around the world. .
    same as before that..
I remember in the 1990 world cup my father telling me that football is not what it used to be ..lol

The world itself has changed and globalisation has become the new word along with internet, digital, social media and smart apps . .
You ask any old timer in any profession and they tell you things ain’t the same ..

We have to adapt to the new world I guess

Other news ..i see klopp has shinier choppers than firmino and his predecessor Rodgers
Must be a traditional thing in scouseland. expect they get knocked out of CL now

  27. allezkev says:

KK, I say my fine fellow, you’re not middle class are you, by any chance?

Adam is the only middle class blogger that I know, although I’ve come across a few posh Gooners…. ?

  28. Wavy says:

I say Kev, old chap, I’m from North Chingford you know, what?

Vair ain’t nuffin’ ring in beein’ middull klars! ‘N I snood no!

Arteta would be ok fits a lot of holes. Just not very likely, too inexperienced. Two or three years on he would be a definite maybe. The list is long but, Allegri would still be my first choice.

  29. Kk says:

Kev, I thought you once said Adam is an upper class aristocrat ??…

Didn’t say i was middle class. .just they are not all that bad..lol

    Ì am just a gooner
    Morning all

  30. Meerkat says:

Morning all. Rather grey skies with the sun struggling to break through here in ‘the garden of England.

MS deservedly imo won his award. I think that one is so much more important, voted for by his peers.

Yes every top club now has its share of middle class fans. Upper class I.e Prince William supporting Aston Villa, probably rarely watch a game, but feel an affinity to some clubs for whatever reason.
How do we define what is middle class? Is it their profession? Because though I’ve always worked, when I qualified as a Social Worker, I became ‘middle class’ apparently. Letters after my name. I still see myself as working class though and vote Labour.

Back to important stuff. Whoever takes over st Arsenal will have a budget of £50 million then. Half of a top player then!
Gazidis is hinting it could be Arteta, but Benitez is not overly happy st Newcastle, so perhaps he would be the temporary answer. I still want Simeone though eventually.

  31. Wavy says:

I think the ‘fat lady’ is just warming up. The quiet before the storm.
Speaking of which, it’s rather dull and cool here. Another grey day!

Morning all. Let’s hope for a decent day and no more class warfare, ha,ha.

  32. allezkev says:

Bloody feels a bit chilly again, thought it was too good to last…

Morning All, I say Wavy old bean, North Chingford is very posh, I know Chingford Mount very well.

KK you always came across to me as a man of culture and refinement, very much like Adam, who is, as you say, a bit of a chap…. ?

Morning Rico, the quiet before the storm.

  33. Meerkat says:

Discounting the current encumbant of the position, what would be the ‘storm’?
What would be the worst case scenario? Rodgers? Fat Spam? Pardew?Ancelotti? Even Claudio Ranieri? He was at the game the other day.
Any of the above would be a great disappointment for me. But what manager would want to take over with a budget of £50mil in this climate of inflated prices?

It is probably just me, but Ivan Gazidis looks like a spiv who I wouldn’t buy a secondhand car from. I wouldn’t trust him further than I could throw him.

    Sun is out!!

  34. allezkev says:

Meerkat, it’s how you feel yourself I suppose, class that is.

I mean if you’ve gone to University and learned a ‘profession’ does that make you middle class?
Is it in your manner, the way you was brought up, the way you speak?

It could be a bit of all those things.

  35. Meerkat says:

That’s what I said Allezkev. “I see myself as working class”. However during my Uni course, we covered this in Sociology, ‘what defines class?’. Professional people ie Doctors, Socialwokers, Solicitors, ‘White collar workers’, are deemed to be middle class. As I worked though, as did my husband until he took early retirement, we are surely working class.
Anyway, as already said, fans are fans, even if we don’t live in north London and were not brought up within spitting distance of Highbury, we can still be passionate about Arsenal. We may not agree on everything, but ultimately, we all love the club, and the reason I supported AW for so long, is because I know he does too.

  36. Paddywhack says:

People talk about Wengers first 10 years. Here’s a question: If Wenger had not had GG famous back 5 and inherited the crap defence we have now what would he have won. Couple of FA Cups perhaps. I agree he added TH, PV etc but without that back 5 he was nada. So people should remember who bought and coached that back 5, GG. Bring back George as a defensive coach.

  37. Meerkat says:

He changed the whole culture of the club. The famous drinking sessions that back five regularly enjoyed, with a Kebab or Fish and Chips suppers.
His new ideas re food and excercise were embraced by all the football clubs. Yes, his actual teams are not so gifted now, and haven’t been for years, but no one can take away the initial game change he affected in the whole league. Blimey, players dare not get caught smoking or drinking these days or they are crucified in the press and social media, as well as fined by their club.

As for him being a control freak, from what I remember from 22 years ago, when he arrived in the UK, managers were in charge of everything, they did all the hiring and firing in every aspect of the club.

I remember Ray Parlour saying once that the original players would all go for a few pints, and when they staggered back to the hotel, they passed by TH, Patrick, Robert Pires, et al, sitting in a cafe drinking coffee and smoking. He thought ‘Christ we’ve got no chance in the game’, yet they won easily, lol.
Clearly Wenger soon put a stop to all that though.

Interestingly, I’ve just read a quote from Ray Parlour, saying Rafa should be offered the job. I agree, if only short term. Until Simeone is free.

  38. Kk says:

I think all the signs lead to Germany when it comes to AW replacement. .

Ivans two sidekicks from Germany. .

He always makes reference to the bavarian as the ideal model for arsenal ..

    Klopp massive success with liverpool

We have bought few players from the
    bundesliga

    Ozil signing new contract. .

All the rumours about joachim low
And of course naglesmaan, tuchell, and hasenhutll

The big tall tower that’s mertasacker appointed as youth coach. .

    The rumered addidas deal. .

My preference would be Allegri or Jardim. .
Think it’s too soon for the likes of Arteta, Hennery or Veira ,maybe one can come as assistant coach. .
Whoever it might be, it’s certainly exciting at the moment.

  39. Wavy says:

The ‘Storm’ if it were to come would be thr reaction of the fans to an appointment of Brenda as a replacement for the chicque one! I mean, could you imagine the outcry, it would be the same anger if any of the grade B British managers took the job.
An already proven German or Italian would be acceptable most of the rest, well we’d have to wait and see.

I can faintly hear the ‘fat lady’ gargling in anticipation of singing very soon!

  40. rico says:

Meerkat, are you sure calling Ivan a Spiv is being respectful?

Paddy, often wondered the same because we can count his successful defensive signings on one hand. In fact apart from Campbell, most were midfielders turned defender.

  41. rico says:

With the delicate fan situation, certainly within the Emirates, I think Ivan is smart enough to know that the next managerial appointment has to be a good one. On paper at least..

  42. Meerkat says:

Nope, it isn’t meant to be. You have to earn respect, and nothing he has said makes me change my opinion. It isn’t racist to say he looks like an oily spiv, to me, whom I would never trust.
I recall being called Names on here but nothing was said then. I just laughed, but I’m sure quite a few agreed with it. Didn’t you?

  43. rico says:

I was offended because I see little wrong in what Ivan is doing, so it’s all relevant to the individual. Just like what I said about Wenger. Can’t have it two ways I guess.

As for your question, of course not. I actually don’t recall it..

  44. Meerkat says:

Ok. I don’t like him. I don’t like the look of him. I don’t trust him. I don’t like his demeanour. I never have. Nothing to do with AW btw.
I just feel the whole set up with Kroenke and Gazidis looks untrustworthy. Moneymakers, not football men.
    Rather like spivs. Oops!

    Taking dogs out now, byeee.

  45. Le Coq Monster says:

    Afternoon all.

I dont like Gazidis either, mainly because he said we would now compete with the likes of B Munich and then we got humiliated by them !……………………………I also bumped into him once coming out of the Arsenal Museum when he opened up his coat revealing an array of watches for sale !………..

    😆

PS…………………………I dislike Kroenke even more and talkng of “class”, that lot on the board especially Sir Chips think they are all above us, but us supporters are the real class for supporting The Arsenal.

  46. Paddywhack says:

No disrespect to TH, PV, MA. I like these lads but they are not yet ready to take over the team AW is leaving behind. The culture seems to be with AW “don’t worry lads just do your best” These players need a fire lit under them. No more pussyfooting about. I would like AllegrI, Simeone, Hassenhuttl in that order. And what’s this crap about having only 50m to give the new manager. Don’t we have two billionaires at the club.

  47. Paddywhack says:

Le Coq Monster Gazidis is a slippery snake and always been. Wouldn’t believe a word he says. Most of the BoD are brain dead fogies should go to their Mens Club and vegetate. They have no place in AFC. I have hope for Josh. Pop has to give over the reins sometime. As for Le Fraud has he gone yet. Short rant over.

  48. Le Coq Monster says:

That`s what it is Paddy…………………crap !……………………..we were quids in over the last two TW`s with all the players who left and the wages saved!…………..thank Arsene for that, he did know how to manage the accounts to his credit…………………….need someone to come in and blow all the money !…………hahaha

  49. Meerkat says:

?? Le CM. Were they ‘genuine fake Rolex’? Glad we are on the same page re that shower at the club.
    And of course Simeone!
Perhaps the home fans can woo him. ‘There’s only one Simeone, one Simeone…,…’
Once he gets a look at the setup he won’t be able to resist. Until he meets Gazidis.LOL!

  50. Paddywhack says:

Rico I believe IG should be given a fair wind. Even though he was CEO I believe was shackled by AW relationship with SK. So in effect he answered to AW!! I would give IG my vote but if he dares appoint Brenda from Celtic then no more support. Allegri or Simeone for me.

  51. Paddywhack says:

Sorry would not want Rangnick. It’s just too big a job for an unknown. There again who knew AWAY in 1996.

  52. Le Coq Monster says:

Who the fcuks Rangnick, Rico ?

I did see Thor Radnorak, is he related to Thor ? 🙂

M`kat……………………….as much as I wanted Wenger out I have always maintained that Kroenke is the main evil of the club and Gazidis is just one of his main puppets who just happens to look like Parker from Thundrbirds !
    🙂

    Simeone In…………………or Someone …….

  53. Le Coq Monster says:

Looks like we the Simeone Appreciation Society are setting him up for a big fall on Thursday night !
    😆

  54. Meerkat says:

??, lol, he does look like Parker from thunderbirds! But slimy with it.

Roma seem pretty poor so far, Mo Salah has two more under his belt. The Ox stretchered off after ten minutes or so. Kloppys teeth whiter than ever, unless he’s caught the sun, lol.

Rico, the £50 million budget, came from today’s Telegraph. No money being invested, that is what is left in the kitty, so they said the new guy will have to sell to raise anymore. Easier said than done.

    Another goal, this time Mane.

  55. potter says:

I also bumped into him once coming out of the Arsenal Museum when he opened up his coat revealing an array of watches for sale !………..

Glad it wasn’t a bag of peppermints

  56. micko says:

Paddy 7.49, we sign Brenda and that loud skid mark shortly afterwards will be Adam nearly crashing his sports car lol.

  57. Kk says:

    Bindippers5/2. .wow..
Hope arsene wenger and his cronies were watching. .
If stan and Ivan were guilty of anything its that they stayed loyal to AW way too long..

50 million or whatever, AW had at least 5 years to assemble a decent squad..instead most our buys either left already or loaned away…
I guess signing only petr cech and not a single outfield player in that season was ivan’s decision, because he couldn’t find a qualidy!

O wait..we have mustafi and xhaka 70 millions asset ..
what a waste of millions hey!

  58. Lee says:

Why all the hate on Ivan?

Gets my vote if he was instrumental on getting rid of a well past his sell by date Wenger and hopefully appoints a quality replacement!

  59. Le Coq Monster says:

Hahaha Potter……………………..nope, dont like peppermints, but if it had been some sherbet strawberries !

    Morning all.

  60. Le Coq Monster says:

For what it`s worth here`s my list with my favourite first !

Simeone………….ugly muvver who punches above his weight financially and his defense is tighter than Mother Terasa`s jack&danny !

Allegri…………probably because you lot like him !

Arteta………………knowing our club and Peps secrets !

Lady Penelope……………………….Gazidis will do anything for her !

  61. Lee says:

Allegri for me too but i like what Jardim is doing… I don’t want Arteta, Viera or Henry at the moment.

  62. rico says:

I wouldn’t mind if they were part of the setup though, but I think the club needs to get a guy with experience. Out of the frying pan into the fire would be a disaster..
