Arsene Wenger is leaving in the summer… March/April we can expect an announcement…

Morning all.

Another day in a depressing Arsenal life. It’s hard to be positive about anything going on at the club these days and I can’t remember the last time I felt concerned ahead of a fixture like we have on Monday evening. A 3G pitch, a small ground where the home fans will probably be closer to the players than our midfielders are to the defence and a few old Arsenal rejects ready to take us down a peg or two. Still, there is a little bit of hope I guess as it’s highly likely that the team which beat Southampton comprehensively in the last round will be involved and not many of those who suffered a hefty and embarrassing loss in Germany.

Arsene Wenger has a right old job on his hands to motivate the squad though and as said many times, I don’t think he’ll be able to. We might get past Sutton United but after that we head to Anfield on Saturday 4th March for an evening kick-off. Between the two matches is an international break which will be good for the players. Perhaps during those two weeks Arsene Wenger will have a long hard think about his future and instead of burying his head in the sand and blaming everything and anything for the way we are performing, he’ll finally come to the conclusion that he is the reason why.

Apparently there were fireworks in the dressing room after the Bayern match with a lot of mud being slung around as the players argued with each other and away from the pitch, fans were fighting amongst each other too. A very sad situation but it shows emotions are high and enough is enough. According to reports in the media, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Alexis exchanged cross words as did a few others although Arsene has denied such goings on during his press conference this morning. As for the fighting between fans who are clearly split over their opinion of manager, well one witness told The Mirror:

It was like a war-zone in there. It’s happened before, but this was the worst by far. You would have thought it was Arsenal and Tottenham fans fighting – but it was Arsenal fans fighting among themselves.

None of us know what Arsene Wenger will decide about his future which in itself is a joke because there shouldn’t even be an offer of an extra two years on the table, but the media seem to think that he’s gone from being sure about staying to now thinking that perhaps it’s time to go. It is Arsene, it is.

The Mirror are brave this morning, either that or simply stupid as they are running a story which says ‘Arsene Wenger will leave this summer.’

All I hope is that whoever their ‘source close to the Frenchman’ is, he’s got it right…..

But we won’t know until March or April because that’s when Arsene Wenger has said he’ll make any announcement. Regardless though, he’s not leaving football because even if he decides to leave Arsenal, he will manage somewhere, of that he said he’s sure.

Which does make me wonder if he really is thinking of leaving and he has an eye on a new challenge at a different club, or country…..

As long as the price of shares is maintained, who cares, because you can’t see fans fighting from Texas 🙂
Ox or Alexis…..in the trenches, give me Ox.
Alex may be the better scrapper, but unfortunately, he won’t fight for anyone but himself.
It’s about time someone put that guy in his place, because while there’s no doubt he’s talented, he’s also selfish, petulant and yes, a diver.
I hope the new manager sells him.
    Ozil as well.
    Plenty of others to follow.
    Morning all 🙂 🙂 🙂

    Morning Rico and All

We should have known better,,should’nt we.

10 years ago Arsene let cashley(world class invincible left back)
and future captain go over £10,000 a week and has gone
on a 10 year circle trying to replace him.
Stepney born Cole lived over the road from me,
    Gooner through and through.
An area known for fighting sportsmen/women.

Is it a coincidence in these last 10 years that the
fight went from our teams….the day
Arsene decided we did’nt need men
who answer back and sacked Ashley and
brought in fellow frenchmen little Willy Gallas.

  3. potter says:

Posted this as the new post went up.

March or April when I believe club level pay for next season is when he will let the board know his intentions. Whether they will tell the rest of us plebs before we join or not in June is another matter.
The Pep , Arsene argument is a non runner and impossible to reach any conclusion, we won’t know until the time comes whether anyone can do more with this squad. My belief is that there will be radical change in the playing staff and any new manager will want to bring his own coaching people with him which will possibly absorb much of our budget. Players will leave and be replaced but selling will be a fire sale and buying will be at premium.
I have never doubted that his time has come and like with Brexit it will be rocky for a period but I do believe that it is the right thing in the long run.

  4. rico says:

Terribly harsh on Alexis imo Scott. He’s one of a few who actually works his nuts off.

Funny how it’s wrong iyo to mock/slate Wenger but calling Alexis a cheat is acceptable…. Bizarre…

  5. rico says:

7-0? Scott, I think Wenger probably thinks like that too which is half the problem. He seems to think a game is won before it’s played and that filters through to the players imo.

  6. potter says:

I heard that the Cole deal was a promise from Dein countered by a lower one from Fiszman and Hill Wood which is why he nearly killed himself in a car crash..

  7. rico says:

Morning Fred. That Gallas/Cole deal has to be one of the worst decisions the club ever made and you’re right, it all went downhill from that day. Slowly, but definitely surely.

I don’t want Alexis to go either, would really cheese off most fans imo, Ozil though, well I don’t think I’d miss him if he left…

  8. Lee says:

I can’t believe people can still kiss Wenger’s bony arse after 13yrs of gross underachieving!

    Alumnia
    Jeffers
    Silverstre
    Wright
    Grondin
    Cygan
    Squillaci
    Denilson
    Santos
    Park-Young
    Gervinho
    Chamakh
    Wreh
    Malz
    Bischoff
    Vivas

Off the top of my head, there’s definitely a few more to add. Then the embarrassing list of who he almost signed, really quite pathetic imo.

  9. rico says:

That’s a long list Lee, how could you forget Alialialidre or however he spells his name… 😉

Wasn’t it just Adam, still, I feel good knowing we could have signed Drogba and Hazard… lol

  10. scottfromoz says:

Fred, I’m not changing my opinion merely to be popular, that’s not my go, though I do know others who feel the same way I do.
Just because you haven’t encountered them, doesn’t mean they don’t exist.
You say madness-I say it’s honesty.
Rico, it’s how I feel about Alexis.
Again, should I lie about my opinion?
He’s a diver, and anyone suggesting otherwise is lying.
    He’s also petulant and selfish.
I’m not sure how or why anyone can seriously say any of those points are incorrect, but I’m sure plenty will lol.
    Potter, you’re right.
A massive clean out is required.

  11. frednerk says:

    Morning Adam
The lads that went the other night
and to be fair support our club every game
home and away should have a say.
    Not sure if it’s true.
The chilian’s are goner protest to get
    Sanchez to leave…Fu*king Hell

  12. DB10 says:

Agree with lots that Scott says – indeed we have been declining for a while. Penny pinching is okay to a point, but when you know you have sufficient funds to compete (Gazides’ words, not mine) you cannot continue to be a skint flint. We quibble over fees, contracts and add-ons and as a result, lose out on many top stars.

Also true is the fact that AW does not like confrontation – or an outspoken player, hence the removal of AC, and the sterile influx of kids and yes men. We need passion back at Arsenal. Someone to fire a rocket firmly up the arse of all the hangers on, wasters, contract rebels and those that have settled for a comfy existence with no threat towards them. We MUST get a new leader. Younger, hungrier, nastier and full of new ideas and tactics. AW is a legend and what he has achieved in our game is remarkable. However, if he continues to cling to the wreckage, he will lose any chance of a heart-warming and well deserved legacy. On top of that, we will slip further behind our rivals. We were taken apart on Wednesday by Lahm, Robben and Alonso – all 33 years plus!

Finally, I am not scared/worried about losing Ozil or Sanchez. Yes, Ozil has sublime talent, but if it is not coupled with determination and guts then it all becomes a little diluted. Sanchez is a wonderful player. Guts, drive, goals and an incredible winning attitude. However, he is a sulker who is prone to petulance and ultimately a damaging influence on other players.

I love Arsenal – have done for more years than I care to mention. Have had season tickets and followed them far and wide. This hurts. Badly.

  13. rico says:

Scott, well I think Wenger is a stubborn, arrogant old buffoon who should have left years ago. He’s boring , predictable and can’t do tactics to save his life, nor can he motivate his players…

So it’s good not to lie I guess but you won’t like my view…

However, the last thing I would suggest Alexis is is a diving cheat, but if that’s how you see him then so be it.

  14. rico says:

DB – is Alexis a sulker or just a man who hates to lose? I honestly wish we have eleven players with his footballing attitude, I really do.

He just wants to play and to win at all costs….

  15. potter says:

Heard McLintock this morning , the policy then was the first 5 minutes of half time was his to gee up the under performing and then it was over to to Howe and Mee to say what they thought. He said that now the players sit in silent contemplation. He seemed as baffled as the rest of us.

  16. scottfromoz says:

    Rico, he dives.
    We’ve all seen it lol.
Not just once, but in several occasions.
He’s not extravagant as Robben, but he’s no less guilty.
Arsene should have left years ago…..kind of what I’ve said on numerous occasions, and to go a step further, I’ve always said he was never very good at tactics…most disagreed with me, but now it’s unanimous 🙂 🙂 🙂
What would I know, though lol.

  17. Lee says:

Arsenal could do with a few more players with Sanchez’s work ethic, too many injury prone sub-standard players litter the squad that coupled with an over the hill manager…… really not a good recipe is it?

  18. scottfromoz says:

Rico, give me 11 players who go about their business like Koscielny and I’ll be happy.
He makes mistakes, but doesn’t point the finger at others when they do.
He also doesn’t turn the ball over 10 times a game.

  19. rico says:

If Wenger stays DB you could be right but if there’s signs of a new manager coming in then he might just stay. Bergkamp was in a similar situation when Rioch sacked but once Wenger came in, he decided to stay.

He might go over with the slightest of touches Scott but it’s a stretch too far for me to call him a cheat.

Koscielny is another whimp imo, if he had a backbone, he’d be shouting at players ahead of him during a game and he certainly wouldn’t turn his back on a shot as he often does….

  20. Lee says:

People like Frank on Arsenal’s board would be a step in the right direction! First Wenger needs to foxtrot Romeo Oscar!

  21. scottfromoz says:

Rico, seems to me that when Kozzer went if, we lost our backbone but that’s right, Alexis stepped up bahahahahahaha.
    Please, he dives.
    He initiates contact.
    That’s diving.
It’s a shame we show more loyalty to a pay cheque player than we do a 20 year manager, it really is.

  22. rico says:

I’m on about in general Scott, not just in the Bayern game. He’s a whimp with no leadership qualities whatsoever…

If you want to call Alexis a cheat then fine Scott but imo, you are in the minority… We’ll have to agree to differ.

  23. scottfromoz says:

Rico, being in the minority doesn’t mean I’m wrong.
    Kozzer a whimp?
He’s a gun and gives his all every week, every minute.
Damn, all of a sudden Alexis is the only thing about Arsenal plenty of people like yet the guy couldn’t give a shit about the club.
Hell, he couldn’t even bother a wave for the away fans but that’s ok, let’s forgive him again because he abuses team mates and waves his arms around-something we all “loved” about Flamini lol.

  24. andrewh1313 says:

Scott, sorry to disagree, but keep Sanchez and rebuild the rest around him!

I’ll be devastated if he goes, he’s one of the few ‘winners’ in our team. As for Kos, you forgotten how he turns his back on shots or free kicks and deflects into an own goal, you wouldn’t see Adams doing that? Well, expect he has on a clip somewhere, but you know what I mean. Kos and Shez cup final goal in last minute? Dont think I’m against Kos, he’s our best defender, but I don’t think he’s world class like some of us would want to believe.

  25. Lee says:

Well if you think the problem starts above Wenger’s that’s your opinion but I think you’re thinking out of your arse! ?
As for your disdain for Sanchez, I find that really odd. The bloke wants to win and is a true grafter…

  26. rico says:

I didn’t say it did Scott, but your opinion doesn’t mean you are right either. An opinion is just that, an opinion and mine clearly differs to yours.

Yes, Kos is a whimp imo, he’s a decent defender, but he’s too keen to turn his back on a shot…

  27. Obi says:

Arsene on BBC, “I will manage next summer whether here or somewhere”.

And this is the killer….”it’s not like if I left Arsenal, they will win every trophy or game”. The man has lost it.

  28. rico says:

Obi, as much as I agree that he’s lost it, taken on it’s own that comment seems odd but put it with the rest of what he said about Arsenal if he left, it made sense, honest… I watched his interview from start to finish…

  29. ScottfromOz says:

So Lee, explain why you’d like Frank on the board if getting him there will change nothing???
    Strange call.
Pep-twice the salary, out of CL…..anything on that?
    Rico, I have nothing.
Defending a diver whilst crucifying Kozzer.
Now I see what there are so many brawls amongst Arsenal fans
Emotion gets in the way of sense.

  30. Obi says:

Rico, I disagree with you on Kos. Andrew even Adams made mistakes. How Sanchez is praised for his work ethics over his mistakes, but Kos mistakes are highlighted over his consistency and work ethics. That not objective. IMHO, Kos is top 10 defender in Europe. Can we objectively say Sanchez is top 10 attacker/ forward in Europe.

And I love Sanchez, so am not being critical. Maybe they should make him captain so he can start yelling at the passengers more….well maybe not, lol.

  31. ScottfromOz says:

Andrew, that never worked with RVP and Cesc and those guys appeared more at him at atewnal rhan Alexis ever has.

  32. andrewh1313 says:

Scott, Sanchez is allowed mistakes because he’s given everything since he arrived. Money in the bank. And even a poor Sanchez still adds more than most to our team. Similarly, Wenger was allowed years in the wilderness because of what he had done. But those years ran out long ago!

Yes Obi, I would make him Captain, and if the players going through the motions don’t like it, clear off. None of us know what’s going through his mind though. But I don’t think he would look like he cares so much if he had already decided to leave. For a while others like Walcott seemed to follow Sanchez and up their workrate, then they dropped off again. If I was Sanchez, I’d be well pissed at some players sauntering around.

  33. ScottfromOz says:

Andrew, i doubt Alexis will stay no matter who manages us next season.
Rico, you are right, but a mistake is a mistake.
Seems only one of our players rips into others over them, though.
Imagine Vieira playing and watching Alexis hand the ball over numerous times every game?
    Blood would be shed hahaha

  34. rico says:

I don’t think salary should come into really, nor the money spent on players. Just because Wenger doesn’t spend it, why shouldn’t the other clubs who are more ambitious?

Football has gone the way it has and there’s the real problem but it’s not going to change so we have to put up and shut up imo…

  35. ScottfromOz says:

    That’s true, Rico.
Next time someone says Wenger is paid 8 million to finish top 4, I’m sure you’ll have a little smile 🙂

  36. Lee says:

Scott you’ve got to get over it Stan is staying…..a footballing man with genuine love for Arsenal on the bod and a new manager will get Arsenal ticking again!
This stale shit that Wenger’s been serving up for ages has got to fuck off immediately!

  37. ScottfromOz says:

Rico, others say that, not Arsene.
Lee, I know he’s staying and that’s what annnoys the crap out of me.
I also know Arsene must go.
A new board might change things, but I’m not as confident as you are.
Any realistic chance of change on that front??

  38. rico says:

Well, that is how it’s worked out Scott, no PL trophy for how long? Two FA Cups and that’s it, and one of those we seriously struggled in…

  39. rico says:

To hear Wenger brag about being one of only three teams who have been in the CL every season this morning was embarrassing too. The difference between Bayern and Real Madrid is they have actually won it, not sent packing almost every year at the same stage….

  40. ScottfromOz says:

I’m not questioning that, Rico, not at all.
    Just the salary bit.
    It is relevant.
On top 4…..apart from Pellegrini, who was the last manager to finish top 4 and get the flick??!
Citeh wanted Pep no matter what, so Pellegrini really had no chance.
    Who else, though?!

  41. rico says:

Agree Adam, apart from the CL stuff, like it’s a trophy… I know it’s good for the club to be in the CL but it would be nice to get a little further in the competition, or at least to play like a team who could rather than always getting thumped with great ease…

  42. ScottfromOz says:

Adam, doesn’t that show he does care?
So many say he’s there for the money and nothing else.
He may be out of answers, but surely it’s not due to a lack of effort.

  43. rico says:

We’ll have to agree to differ Scott about the wages. What a club chooses to pay a manager is up to them, and having won the PL in his early days he was no doubt handsomely rewarded but now he’s failing to win anything, the club are hardly likely to tell him to take a pay cut…

    He does Adam..

  44. ScottfromOz says:

When he’s called some of the names I’ve seen used, I do struggle to agree with that, Adam.
    Most do, though, no question.

  45. rico says:

I’m just listening to Michael Jackson, Man in the Mirror – apply that to Arsene Wenger and Arsenal instead of the ‘world’ – how true…. 🙂

  46. potter says:

Many things to cover in this mornings little spat.
1 McLintock on the board ? Should have been offered years ago along with Bob Wilson , people that know what it’s like to win and what is needed.
2 Sanchez diving ? He is no more guilty than any other player. They all will bend the rules to gain an advantage.
Lost the dressing room ? Going back to Frank on the radio this morning , I suppose the difference is that when he spoke the other players knew that first he had their back and second he had the charisma to carry it off. Who today has the bollocks to tell Ozil to knuckle down and get involved or tell Alexis to pass quicker and not hold the ball too long. Or Theo to track runners through midfield ? In my opinion nobody, all our captains do is toss the coin.
Wenger’s salary is down to the board , it’s their fault that in desperation to keep him they have allowed him to get to where he is.
And lastly Kos , Years ago when Tony Adams came out of prison , his first game back was for the reserves at Carrow Road , we were 4 nil up with about a minute to go when Norwich attacked and took a shot from the edge of the area , Adams was about a yard from the player and dived in front of the ball and took it full in the face ,. Why do I mention this ? it was only the reserves, the game was won , but Tone wanted a clean sheet , they were not going to score if he could help it. Koscielny for all his benefits would not have done that.

  47. Bob John says:

    Hi all.
I have reached the stage where I am totally numbed by it all. There is so little left to say that hasn’t been said for the last few years. However, because Arsene basically leaves it up to the players to make their own decisions on the pitch the same thing will continue to happen. This style of management can only work if you have totally self-motivated players like Lehman, Adams, Campbell, Lauren, Vieira, etc, etc. The type of players who would rather kill you than concede a goal. This current lot don’t even look annoyed when we get shafted by the referee or let a goal in. Just a shrug of the shoulders, heads down and trudge back to the centre circle. Basically they don’t give a shit!

  48. rico says:

    1.55 Potter. Good comment.

Big Sol was saying the same thing the other day Bob, he said Wenger didn’t need to say much because on the pitch he had the type of players who worked it out for themselves and during a game…

Why on why Wenger turned his back on signing big players with balls is beyond me… After all, why change what was a winning formula?

  49. micko says:

    Andrew 11.03…spot on.

rico 12.17, i’d say it’s even more remarkable what we haven’t achieved over that time meself !

  50. goonster says:

Am getting married in the summer guys. To hell with Wenger. I could care less if that tosser was shoved off a bus running at high speed. The nerve of that french prick. Did he just say arsenal ll neve win every game if he leaves??? Have this old goat forgotten where we got him from??? Lord God in heaven??? Wenger made arsenal?? Or arsenal made wenger??? Look enough sentimental bullshit. He needs to fuck off. I hear people like scott use this term “what he’s done for us”…what has he done?? Gave us the invincibles?? Whoop dee do. GG almost did that with less resources. Built a stadium??? Hahahahahah thats actually hilarious. Did he spend a dime or was he the contractor??? Please people don’t let that ashen faced bastard fool you all. He’s a fraud. Always have always will. Morning everyone.

  51. Wavy says:

The formula was changed, vis, quiet unassuming, smiley players because Wenger would brook no challengers! He has over the years become an affable, urbane despot! No leaders on the field! Can you see him allowing his captain to have first say at half time? Having the effrontery to tell it how it is! And then Wenger having his inefftual voice his, come on chaps play the game!! Or some such banal nonsense. I mean who wouldn’t ignore the manager? He couldn’t bear playing second fiddle to any upstart player!
If that is how his management style has developed then it’s little wonder that our players are too nice to tackle or berate each other. Wenger has divided them to rule and has as a consequence knocked the stuffing out of them!
We have a team that reflect, absolutely the manners and self control of the manager. They have become his clones, his recreations, of himself on the field of play!
Sadly they don’t compete because they’ve had it coached out of them. Any player who shows a little gumption or hardness is invariably ‘re educated’ into the Arsenal way and or put out to pasture until they conform to the school of tippy tappy or tika taka soccer! Sideways crab football where if we have the ball no one has to make a challenge, no player has to make a decision. (Look at Xhaka, half the player he was when he finally got his first pick, because, “he wasn’t ready to play for Arsenal yet, he hasn’t learned our style”), Arsene Wenger at one of his press cons during September ’16). etc.etc.

The team is the reflection of the manager and he was found out years ago albeit the players he had at his disposal were so good he didn’t have to coach them at all, whereas now he has a team full of players who can’t think for themselves and don’t have the abilities of their predessors and Wenger has no idea of what to say to them! That is why we are in the state we are in. Total lack of direction and it all stems from the top. We have become weak and spineless because the manager has become weak and spineless. It’s what happens when you get old you lose your mojo. You lose your drive! You lose your vision!
Sad, sad state of affairs. Only one solution…….new broom required. Sad but true!

  52. rico says:

Stanley, now that’s not nice about our dear Arsene…

You need to hear his entire press conference to realise that his comments about when he leaves actually made sense…

  53. goonster says:

Lol micko you irish prick????? i ll do it and it ll last a lifetime. How are you partner??? Arsenal still giving you grief huh??

  54. goonster says:

Rico my apologies maam just cant stand that turd no more. 10-2 against bayern at the Allianz arena. Thats unacceptable. He needs to fuck off.

  55. rico says:

Afternoon Herb. Seriously, when a gem of a comment comes into your mind like your last and so many more, would you be kind enough to email it so I can use it as a post please?

Thank you by the way for your kind comment about the post..

  56. micko says:

Keeping my good side out Stan.

No grief here, home advantage and an away goal, I think we got every chance at the Emirates.

  57. Herb's Army says:

    Thanks Rico.
You know you can use them as and when you see fit.
Thanks for the feedback, Adam, I find myself agreeing with most of yours, Lee’s, Kev’s and Cornwall’s posts too. Depressing stuff for all us Arsenal fans.
Congratulations Goonster, all the best on your big day.

  58. rico says:

Herb, re your comments going into moderation- an IT wizard has looked into it and it seems it’s nothing my end. Any chance you could try setting up a new WordPress account? See if that resolves the issue…

  59. Herb's Army says:

Remove it if you want to Rico, so people have something fresh to read if you use it as a Post.
The reason I don’t e-mail you them is because it’s not my place to judge the standard of my own comments, and we all just write from our hearts, which might not always hit the right notes or reflect the mood of the overall blog.

  60. teebajj says:

Anyone notice Arsene used the word “They” a lot during the press conference to refer to Arsenal? I don’t recall Arsene ever talking that way about Arsenal, which is quite unusual for a Man who is seen as a huge part of the Club’s history. Is this some form of detach? This to me suggest he has probably made up is mind to leave or maybe I’m just wishing he has.

  61. rico says:

    Thanks Herb, I have now….

Trust me, your comments reflect my views so all would be welcome..

The same applies to anyone else too. It’s a tough time right now and all views are appreciated so feel free to email anything which could set up for a good debate. I would say ‘mass’, but that might cause trouble… 😉

  62. ScottfromOz says:

    Congratulations Stan.
Is Arsene giving the bride away 🙂 🙂
Great news mate, and I hope all goes well for you.
Fred, I do know most disagree with me and I accept I’m in the minority, but I say what I think not to simply start brawls.
I’ve hinted several times over the last few season at Alexis diving so I’m not just throwing that up not to be controversial.

I think we sometimes forget the difference now to say only a few years ago !…………………..now the players have the power so wont be too impressed with a screaming manage………..straight onto their agent if abused….fcuking pansies !……………………………………..go back to George Graham era and the players used to go terrified into his office to ask for a pay rise theirselves !…………….and inevitably come out disappointed !……….I`m sure Perry Groves had a few stories about this on talksport, but cant remember them and I`m sure PG was GG`s first signing, but dont quote me !………..anyway, chalk and cheese era`s

  64. Le Coq Monster says:

As for Sutton !………………cant wait for Monday and expect a goal about every 5 mins !……………..including injury time around about 20-0 !……….easy peazy lemon squeazy !………………….and if we play a full strength team ?………..2-1 ! hahaha

  65. Lee says:

Have you read the article saying that 5000 Chileans are going to protest at the fact Sanchez continues to play for Arsenal??

    Funny shit!

Stanley congratulations on the impending wedding, me Adam and Kev can make the stag do! Micko I reckon will surprise you too!!!

  66. ScottfromOz says:

LC, I’ve got those Chileans covered 🙂 🙂
You’re right, the massive majority of footballers nowadays are sooks.
    It’s embarrassing.

  67. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Morning rico1 & all,

Arsene Wenger is really starting to give me the shits now, like after you’ve had the munchies type shits, yeah as much as that!

Will he? Won’t he? Just go!

  68. allezkev says:

Interesting day on here with differing opinions going backwards and forth.

We know that Arsene is a ditherer, he dithers constantly over contracts, it’s what he does.
So don’t expect him to be any different over his contract.

I think the ‘will he stay, will he go’ debate will continue unabated up till the end of the season.
It will depend very much on results and the reaction of the fans.
If the Club Level tickets are due for renewal in March/April, and there is a biggish drop in sales, then that may rock the resolve of Kroenke.
Only money will do that because Kroenke cares about nothing else.
The accumulation of wealth is his reason to exist.
Everything else is just noise to him.

So we’re gonna need a few more serious defeats to force a change, otherwise it’ll be two more years of financial security for Kroenke and frustration for us…

For that reason, I don’t want us to win the FACup or even reach the final and I want us to drop out of the top four.

I hate saying that, but I’m afraid that it’s the only way…

  69. gnarleygeorge9 says:

The silly little mind games that Arsene Wenger is playing is deplorable to say the least. He’s becoming like that Hitler spoof that gets the subtitles. Mein Fuhrer………..!

And, where is Stan? Unaccountable! Weak as piss!!!

If it wasn’t for the Nazis, The Arsenal would probably have won 30 1st Division/PL Titles by now. Herb would agree! But the latest German intervention in the Club’s fortunes may end up being a plus for The Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger got blitzkrieged on Wednesday morning, & the entire football world was watching (apart from Scott of course).

  70. potter says:

I think we will get one more year , The club will not be prepared for replacing him , it is the standard lack of preparation we have come to expect from the board .They will announce one more to give themselves the time to set up what they should already be prepared for.

  71. micko says:

Tintin was our ginga ninja from Colchester on £350 quid a week, I wouldn’t like to call it between him and Marc Overmars lol.

Quoted as saying he would die a happy man in the knowledge the obituaries read “Ex Arsenal player Perry Groves died today” That was all you needed to know about him, chalk and cheese indeed.

  72. frednerk says:

    Scott,
sorry to keep disagreeing with you on most thing’s
I have not got it in for you.
But I have to say you get a reaction from most
    on here.
I reckon Rico deep down must love you really.

  73. ScottfromOz says:

Fred, trust me, I never have an issue when people disagreeing with me as I enjoy a debate.
Maybe I take things the wrong way some times, maybe I don’t but it’s near impossible to truly understand someone’s intentions over the net.
Everyone will tell you 4-5 years ago I said Ramsey would come good and I had maybe one or two people agreeing.
I maintained my opinion because I truly believed it, not simply to be argumentative.
That’s one I got right-doesn’t happen very often at all but I was just giving my honest opinion.
Ok, now he’s turned to shit but Aaron and I had our season in the sun ?
I’d rather someone disagree with me and be honest about it…..I will always respect that, no matter how I come across.
I may dish plenty out, but I cop my share so it all balances out.
None of us lack passion or love for the club and we all need to remember that….yes, I’m often guilty of that.
Rico will tell you, I’ve put myself on suspension a few times here 🙂

  74. ScottfromOz says:

Of you can tell us the truth, Rico 🙂 🙂
A mate seems to think Arsene has shares in PSG.
I’m not sure what he bases it on.

  75. allezkev says:

Morning Rico, I can feel a great post in my water, coming through the airwaves… ?

    Morning All…

Morning Scott, who are you going to upset today? ?

  76. ScottfromOz says:

Kev, are you craving attention hahahaha
Rico, nothing would surprise me, either 🙂
My mate reckons Arsene will end up there next season.

  77. rico says:

    Morning Kev and Adam.

    You are right Kev, today’s post is a cracker but that’s because I didn’t write it… 🙂

Fingers crossed Scott but I think PSG are a team looking to go forward, Wenger would take them back in time….
