Arsene Wenger Deserves Respect. Clubs Queuing Up To Take Yaya Sanogo On Loan…

Morning all..

Ok, tongue in cheek but with a tad of seriousness thrown in if what Arsene Wenger says is true, had Liverpool been in the Champions League and we hadn’t, we may very well lost out on signing Alexis Sanchez so I guess the managers record for getting us into the big competition has it’s benefits and I strongly suspect a few clubs around us would love to have achieved the same.

It would however be nice one year to qualify a Premier League title holders or even as winners of the Champions League itself…

Arsene Wenger:

I just tried, like ever manager, to convince the player that you can help him to develop the quality of his game, that the way we play football would suit him and that’s why I think he has chosen us in the end.

I think at the end of the day every great player has a choice to make. He chose us and we’re very happy for that. I don’t know why he has chosen us over anyone else but we’re very happy that he has done that.

And just last week, we secured our place in the knock-out stages yet again, the same week in which Liverpool were sent crashing out of the big competition and into the Thursday/Sunday side-kick…

Arsene went on to say:

We have continuity. All the player wants to do is play in the Champions League – it is quite simple. We have quite a good continuity on that front.

How many times did we hear people associated to the Dippers suggest a deal to sign Alexis was pretty much done? Loads, but the reality is and despite being offered more money by them, it was us he wanted to sign for and only us…

Maybe he signed for us because of Arsene’s footballing philosophy, whatever that is these days, maybe it was all down to the way our club holds itself above so many others in England or perhaps it’s a combination of all and added to that was the safety of playing in the Champions League. Well I’m not convinced it’s the latter because we’d secured his signature before we beat Besiktas – unless he was quietly confident we would….

All I know is that I’m bloody glad he signed for us and not the Dippers so well done to Arsene and his motley crew for getting the deal done and I truly hope his presence inspires the rest of the team to go and beat the side he simply refused to join!!

Transfer Gossip:

Arsenal are weighing up a big-money January move to gazump rivals Tottenham for Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin according to The Telegraph.

According to the BBC, Yaya Sanogo is heading out on loan next month – hoorah I hear you all cry  – Aston Villa, Sunderland and Crystal Palace are all keen on snapping him up…

That’s it for today, have a good one all…….

    Morning All

    Morning Rico

It’s another sunny, but chilly, day in London Town…

    Sanogo on loan makes sense.

Akpom likewise. Apparently his contract expires in the summer, so don’t be suprised if he leaves…

    Afternoon JM and Kev..

Both make sense Kev, didn’t know Akpom’s contract runs out in the summer, think you are right and he’ll be a gonner, can’t see him getting a chance any time soon… 🙁

  3. rico says:

Funny how the commentators talk about how good Man City could be if they had all their players fit….

Not sure they ever say that about us…..

  4. allezkev says:

Yeah Rico, read it on Jeorge Birds blog…

Might explain why Wenger doesn’t use Akpom?!

Why play him if he’s gonna bugger off?

  5. allezkev says:

Not sure about the Akpom situation Rico…

On the face of it, it would be a bloody shame if he leaves…

Thing is we don’t know if the absence of a new contract is down to the players frustration at not getting a chance, or the influence of his Agent…

I’d be suprised if Arsenal have not made efforts to re-sign the player tbh…

    Evening Rico and Kev
Just like London its been a sunny but chilly day down south.
Re Akpom, Jeorge Bird stated about a month ago that we were working hard to get him to extend his contract but it seems that he is in no hurry to sign it.

With every thing that is going on do you think that Afobi is in line to stay with us Kev. The manager of the Dons states that days before joining them Benik signed a new contract and snce then he has said he is looking forward to going home at the end of the season.
I have seen the highlights of last nights game and must say young Dobson is
    now looking the part.

I see that Theo ,OX Ospina Niles Ajayi Iwobi Kamara and Akpom all trained with the first team today will they all see playing time in the Xmas period

  8. allezkev says:

That’s interesting Rick, yes I kinda recall reading that about Afobe.
I do the lad continues to develop at MK Dons and returns with a chance of making the grade.
The kid has suffered terribly with injuries and deserves a change of luck.

  9. allezkev says:

Rick, there looked to be some interesting new names training with the seniors, but as Rico mentioned, disappointing not to see Hayden among them…

Iwobi and Kamara are coming along nicely…

Good to see some Academy kids pushing their way into the reckoning at last…

Just read an interesting piece about Carl Jenkinson in the Guardian.

He’s certainly improved under Allardyce, particularly benefitting from a different approach to defensive coaching and seems to be enjoying himself at West Ham…

With Bellerin, Chambers and Debuchy in front of him a permanent move looks likely.

A shame, as I think that he’s gonna develop into a very good defender, but not at Arsenal it seems…

  11. allezkev says:

Morning Rico, Arsenal are being strongly linked to the German midfielder Kramer.

Therefore, expect to see him end up at Bayern…

There’s quite an amusing piece in today’s Observer, Rico, where the gist of the story seems to revolve around Wenger going on a spending spree this January….

    Really?

    😆
