Arsene Wenger a Scrooge? Oh no he’s not… Merry Christmas from HH….

Morning all.

Ever wondered whether Arsene Wenger is generous at Christmas?

Well, Martin Keown did a ‘question time’ in the Daily Mail and thanks to that very question being asked by someone called Matt, here’s your answer:

Wenger can definitely be quite festive, he’s certainly not a scrooge. I think he saw Christmas as a chance to reward players on and off the pitch.

I remember winning the double in 2002 and the club designed a lovely Ralph Lauren watch for us all. But we didn’t see it for ages and I think one or two of us thought they had forgotten to do anything to mark the occasion.

But we actually received them the following Christmas. I think that was a deliberate psychological move by Wenger – he didnt want to give them to us immediately or early in the next season in case it made us complacent. Instead he was able to box it off as a Christmas present and make it a gift. That was very clever as he clearly thought carefully about it. But after a present like that you definitely couldn’t call him a Scrooge!

Right, I’ve got a nice bottle of Cava chilling, lunch to prepare and a fire to light. Oh, and plenty of presents to unwrap, hopefully. Festive carols and songs are playing and I’m in good spirits whilst remembering why this day is so special.

Merry Christmas to you all and I hope that however you celebrate this great occasion, you have a wonderful time.

Have a great day…

Cheers

Cheers!

Merry Christmas everyone………

A Blessed Christmas to all HHers. May you all find a moment to think of those who do not have the privilege of celebrating it like we do…….and help them out. Maybe even put a smile on their face…that will be enough as its not presents which count…….but PRESENCE.

May the real reason for Christmas fill your hearts.

    Aye Rico. And thanks.

Its one thing which really irks me at Christmas. yes you find layabouts who do not want to work simply because they do not want. However, there are people who for some reason or another cannot celebrate Christmas as we do. And its because life has been shit and hard on them. Especially those who are passing through difficult moments because of health. Or those who have been abandoned by their families and friends. Or the old ones who are left alone in old people’s homes.

Sometimes, spending just 5 minutes talking to these people and showing them that they are valued is more valuable to them then giving them money or a present. Seeing their face break into a smile of gratitude gives you a warm glow.

It is a time to think of those less fortunate than us; those who have nothing to look forward to. Those suffering from years of despair and those who have nothing and no prospect of getting anything.

Please join me in wishing Spurs and all their fans a very merry xmas!

Happy Christmas to all on HH. Likes the comment about spending some time with people who have no one. We had our Christmas Dinner on Christmas Eve as my son works for the Salvation Army in Belfast and they are serving dinner to 103 homeless people. Needless to say his Mum and I are very proud of him.

    Evening all.
Devil, a lovely post at 2.00pm.
3 days ago, we moved mum into an over 55’s village, for want of a better term.
It’s a lovely place, though full of elderly people who often have nobody close enough or who care enough to visit them-even on Xmas day.
It’s very sad, but its reality, though have no fear, once the elderly pass on, family arrive from everywhere to split up the assets.
Anyway, MOG, I actually fell asleep just after that post, so it does happen 🙂 🙂
It’s 6am here in Oz now, so Boxing Day is underway.
I hope you all had a great day, and you received what you wished for from the man in red 🙂

Ps, mum has already arranged to take the elderly on shopping dates, cook dinners for those who might be in need for whatever reason, and basically taken over the joint lol.
    That’s mum.
