Arsene wants Lewandowski in January! Jack's goal the best ever under Arsene Wenger?

Morning all.

According to The Mirror, ouselves and Manchester City are going to try and sign Robert Lewandowski in January after the player suggested that any move to Bayern Munich is far from a done deal.

With us being ‘cash rich’, suggestion is we are ready with a £25 million offer for the player who will walk for free next summer. Surely that would tempt Dortmund bosses but it would still need the player to want to move to England.

Right now, I’d say we are a far more attractive club to join than Manchester City.

Back to yesterday and what a great day at The Emirates, in the end…..

Not surprisingly, Arsene Wenger was full of smiles in his post match interview and the man with the microphone asked him if our first goal was the best goal we have scored under his reign.

He hinted it was, the movement, speed of passing, the tricks and flicks, finished off by a cool finish by Jack Wilshere. Arsene beamed from ear to ear as he said that goal was going to travel all over and be watched time and time again by many many people.

Come on, it was bloody good wasn’t it?

Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere exchanged passes, next up for our number ten was a one-two with Olivier Giroud which was full of flicks and tricks and great on the eye and then our big striker played another little flick over Ruddy, who could merely stand and watch as Jack Wilshere ran into the box and prodded the ball home. Stunning, simply stunning and the movement was so fast it took a few replays to truly appreciate the greatness involved in the build up.

There are many goals which will remain in our memories for years and years, that one yesterday will join them. What a way for Jack Wilshere to open his Premier League goal account at The Emirates.

Arsenal’s first goal, there aren’t many teams who can score that type of goal. – Chris Houghton

Ruddy was playing well, he touched a Giroud shot round the post and shortly after another good save prevented Bacary Sagna from scoring from a 20-yard volley.

The next big event in the match was the clash of heads between Alexander Tettey and Matheu Flamini.  Our man looked a bit wobbly on his feet afterwards and no doubt with Dortmund in mind, he went off and was replaced with Aaron Ramsey. Suggestion this morning is that Flamini could miss Tuesday’s match but we’ll have to wait and see for sure.

We looked a bit disorganised after that for a period of time before the break and Wojciech Szczesny made a fine save to keep out a wicked shot from distance off of the boot of Leroy Fer.

Another Arsene Wenger team talk seemed to have done the trick as we went 2-0 up. Ramsey passed the ball from just outside our area to Santi Cazorla who continued the move with a ball out to Giroud on the right, he fired in the perfect cross for Mesut Ozil to run into the box and head home. Yes, he headed home…..

I honestly thought we’d kick on from there and score a couple more goals and put the game to bed, but how wrong was I.

Around the hour mark, a poor clearance from Mertesacker, which is unusual these days, allowed Jonny Howson to fire past Szczesny.

Norwich threatened to grab an equaliser but it was us who got the next goal through Aaron Ramsey and another very special one it was too.

Jack Wilshere played the ball to the Ramsey in the area. Having already seen two chances stopped by Ruddy, he wasn’t going to let another go begging. He twisted, turned and jinked past three Norwich defenders as if they weren’t even on the pitch, made sure the ball was on his right foot and then drilled the ball into the back of the net.

3-1 and surely that was game over.

It was but there was still time for one more and it was our German midfielder who made sure the game was dead and buried. Rosicky found Ramsey with a super cross just beyond the far post and the Welshman volleyed his cut-back for Ozil to tap in…

Great day at the office I’d say…..

Well, apart from conceding!

I’ll leave you to pick the bones out of the performance….

    Hi friends

I hope you are all well…. thanks rico for the post couldnt watch the game but your post was detailed enough to get an idea about it.

Been away for a long time and might not be on again for a long time as been extremely busy with work but i am glad we are winning and are on top of the league. A place we all love to be at and come may I am quite confident this is where we will be if we keep on playing the way we are.

Will be on and off today and join the discussion as much as i can. You guys take care and have fun.

  2. Adam says:

Morning Rico and all. Nice report.
A little harsh to criticise Per for their goal. The ball was drilled in as he closed the space and he stuck out a foot. He never had any control really and the ball ballooned off his foot toward the back post. We we a bit light at the edge of the box which allowed the Norwich player time to align the ball for a shot.
Norwich found far too much space for long periods of the game, partly because we had no width in the team. Houghton saw this and while Flamini was getting treatment, he called his players over and made the adjustment to get their full backs further up the pitch which gave them possession dominance through added options. Santi was clearly knackered early after so long out and did little defensive wide work. Quality in wide areas would certainly expand our possibilities.
Norwich were quite physical but good yesterday but we had so much quality in the final third. Something they didn’t.
All in all an enjoyable game.

  3. ktr7 says:

Good read.the reaction of the crowd in the 1st goal was priceless.they at 1st didn’t even cheer;they just stood up and applauded.it was stunning to say the least.

  4. Scott from Ozil. says:

    Morning all.
Replay on in hour, so i am looking forward to that.
Mere words would not do Jacks goal justice….i can come up magical, but that is it.
It was sensational to see in the interlull had not dulled our lads performance which has often been the case.
AndrewH, chin up mate, and Oz is always here for you to revisit 🙂
I had a few ales yesterday with the Aussie Gooner who arranges tours….he is on a plane over as we speak, the bastard 🙂

  5. Scott from Ozil says:

Hi all…just made a comment but had an accidental name change, so it is in moderation.
Hope admin on this site is a nice one hehe

  6. Scott from Ozil says:

KT, i could not applaud, my hands was busy lifting my jaw off the deck.
That was a goal of legendary status…

  7. rico says:

    Morning Adam.

    Me harsh, never. 😉

Seriously, I thought it looked like he miss hit the clearance and it spun off of his foot.

I was was quite surprised Santi started, thought 20 mins from the bench would be the route AW took, playing Gnabry instead to give us more out wide.

hard to believe Norwich are where they are in the PL really, at times I thought they were good..

  8. rico says:

Kt, I couldn’t believe my eyes and had to see the goal a few times before I could believe what I’d seen..

Scott, only me this morning, so there is your answer, always… 😉

  9. Scott from Ozil says:

    Touche Adam hahaha.
Who is this miss hit we speak of?
Rico, always nice of course…..that Wath though 🙂

  10. rico says:

    🙂 Adam.

This will sound harsh too but I don’t mean it to, Szczesny will be disappointed their goal went in when he sees the replay. He was so so close to tipping that around the post…

  11. Scott from Ozil says:

Damn Rico, you are being harsh today.
Merts was off balance, i thought, and Szczesny did really well to get close.
    Tough judge lol

  12. ktr7 says:

Scott/rico i was stunned too.i remained seated and i’ve rewatched the goal about 20 times.its the best team goal i’ve ever seen.it was sensational and it ought to be a shoe in for the puskas goal of the year award. There was about 7 Norwich players who were left bamboozled by that move.

  13. Latest Arsenal News says:

I do not want to be rude to others in the league but if we buy a striker like Lewandowski or Rooney or Jackson Martinez or Diego Costa or the king of them all Suarez, we will most certainly win the league.

A striker in January and a proper winger ( Di Maria ) and us retaining TV till at least next summer, we will not only win the league but also have prepared 6 months in advance to win the league in 2014-2015 season as well.

  14. rico says:

That’s my point though Scott, he’ll look at that and be cross he didn’t tip the ball around the post. He’s improved no-end and I suspect he’ll want to make sure he stays where he is at.

I’d be cross if I was him, because I’d want to better myself every game…

Our goals conceded still needs to be improved on….

    But I’m not moaning, honest…

  15. ktr7 says:

when jack flicked the ball up to Giroud the ball never touched the ground again until it was over the goal line.thats the value of team chemistry right there.i’ve rarely seen wenger so chuffed after we scored that one.he must be so proud.

  16. rico says:

Couldn’t agree more Kt, it’s certainly goal of the season so far and it will take something very very special to beat it…

Lan – I certainly think we’d be in with a great chance but I’m not one for saying we’d definitely do anything because anything can happen in football.

Only takes a couple of injuries in crucial areas are we’d be snookered.

  17. Scott from Ozil says:

Girous has amazing touch for a donkey 🙂
Seriously, he has amazing touch for a big guy.
    Rico, i know…and i agree.
He was always going to improve, in my opinion, and the spell in the stands last season was a master stroke.
KT, it is getting great coverage over here, and is actually the catalyst for people actually asking themselves can we go on and win the league, because that goal was utter, utter class.

  18. ktr7 says:

am so happy we have dropped tiki taka and gone back to wengerball.when executed well its irresistible.the way we just seem to crank up the gears to blow away teams in spells is fabulous to watch.its so invincible-esque.

  19. Scott from Ozil says:

Rico, a few penalties were very suss, to say the least, against us, which makes the goals against column look worse.
Any other week of the year we would be raving about Ramseys goal, and it was absolutely amazing, but rates a poor second to Jacks.
    Quality.

  20. tsgh says:

    Morning all,

There is nothing better than happy HH punters… long may it continue.

As I said during the summer, big signing or no signings, the chemistry developed last season was going to make us contenders… 😉

    Now bring on BVB 09;

  21. rico says:

Scott, Giroud shows just why so many players from overseas need a second second imho. If they don’t show improvement then, sell them is my motto…

Especially when they are mature players….

  22. Scott from Ozil says:

    Agreed Rico.
We, the fans, must realise that though.
On the flip side, the club should also realise it and not hang their hat on a new guy first up.

  23. rico says:

There is that Scott but have we had that many? I don’t know..

Our 3rd was pretty special too, the cross from Tomas, the volleyed cutback from Ramsey made Ozil’s finish look rather simple 😛

Sorry Ts, I disagree, without bringing in Ozil and Flamini, I doubt we’d be sat top of the league.

The chemistry may very well have been developing, but the depth of the squad would not have dealt with the injuries we have suffered so far this season.

  24. rico says:

I’d like to think most fans do Scott, I know I try to be patient 😉

Not sure I understand that hat expression 😉

  25. ktr7 says:

A thing about Ozil.he is incredible without the ball.he attacks any spaces in defence by running directly into them.he is not strongly attracted to the ball like say santi and this gives us real options going forward since he pops all over the final 3rd.it also allows our AMs to freely interchange.

  26. rico says:

Kt, couldn’t agree more and his organisation skills are very good. He’s a thinker and a talker.

Him going off left us looking disorganised for a while imho.

  27. Scott from Ozil says:

Flamini….Ozil….Both massive for us, but the hard yards over the last few years means our younger guys now have resilience and endeavour, and it is simply down to Wenger playing them.
A few of the older guys are in top form, but every younger player has improved.

  28. ktr7 says:

rico i noticed that.we were wobbly till halftime when he was subbed.he seems to have learnt so much in Italy.its hard to drop him now.

  29. rico says:

Ah, got it now Scott, I can be ‘blonde’ sometimes.

Am I allowed to say that these days?

I totally agree, sometimes we get lucky as players class is there and adjust easily, but that’s not always the case.

Looking forward to Podolski returning as this could very well be a good season for him. Mind you, how does he get back into this side right now. Be good if he was ready in time for the CO Cup, and Theo & Oxlade-Chamberlain.

  30. ktr7 says:

Ozil covered so much ground to score our 2nd.he seems really happy to be here.he was even smug after scoring but who can blame him.he is brilliant.

  31. rico says:

I think that comes down to have more mature players around them Scott whereas in the past we have had young, inexperienced players trying and being expected to learn from young, inexperienced players.

All we lack now is winning one final or the PL for them to feel and experience that winning feeling as a group..

Get one, and who knows what we could achieve.

  32. Scott from Ozil says:

Rico, Podolski will love Ozil setting him up.
Plenty of games coming up, and too many class players is a problem we have dreamed of a for a while now 🙂

  33. rico says:

Kt, also, I think others see him as being the ‘Mr Reliable’ behind them and that allows them to press further up the pitch.

How long have some of us cried out for a defence minded midfielder. Well now it shows what one can bring and has brought to our side.

Just never imagined it would be Flamini….

  34. Scott from Ozil says:

    Absolutely, Rico.
That last day getting Arteta and Merts worked out beautifully……eventually lol
Both guys are so calm, that rubs off on the younger guys for sure.
Kozzer is more consistent as well.
Ramsey has now got his legs back…pardon the pun….
Ozil and Flamini just topped off what is the end result of a bloody good basis Wenger has built with the younger guys.
I haven’t heard a single person anywhere complaining about “project youth” this season 🙂

  35. rico says:

In some areas, yes Scott but in others, we are still a little short. I know I keep saying it but I dread Giroud getting injured…

Podolski needs a good season Scott or I can see him being sold..

  36. Scott from Ozil says:

It is Pod second season, and i said it last season we need to find a way to get the best out of him.
    Ozil is the link.
Pod will never beat two or three players to score.
Give him a little space from 20 yards out and he will invariably hit the back of the net.
Ozil knows his play and vice versa.
    Theo coming back.
Damn, we have some attacking potency.

  37. rico says:

I was ready to give up on Merts Scott as you know, he used to really frustrate the heck out of me with his lack of pace, and it always seemed that his mistakes cost us a goal. However, playing alongside Kos, both have improved as has Sagna and Gibbs.

And as you said earlier, plonking Szczesny on the bench was a master stroke and it sure knocked the arrogance out of him. Now he appears confident, not cocky and his distribution of the ball is far better.

Project youth went in the summer we signed Podolski, Giroud and Cazorla imho, good riddance to it too.

Sign players for the reserves/academy as and when they are needed and let them come through when they are ready and not before…

If they are good enough, they’ll get their chance with us more than at many other clubs…

  38. rico says:

We’ll see Scott and I hope you turn out to be right about Podolski/Ozil link up.

I know TW isn’t having the best of seasons so far but we sure miss the pace and width he gives us…

  39. Scott from Ozil says:

Rico, Ramsey, Gibbs, Ox, Gnabry, Theo……it has its place, but definitely needs topping up by experienced players.

  40. tsgh says:

Ozil won’t have signed for us if Ramsey had not literally won the Fenebache game for us with the support of Per, Kosser, Sagna, TR07 and OG12 of course.

After the Fulham match, Klopp, Pep, Simione, Conte had all commented on our performance by this time on the sunday. I have reviewed most of the major threads across Europe and none of the managers have not commented yet maybe the 3 o’clock kick-off.

The refs performance was as bad as against AV and without us being more resilient we would have been troubled even more.

I like to call a spade a spade, we deserved to win but the score line was very flattering imho…

kt- we were wobbling before Flamini went off… I commented in it at 31 past 3 yesterday when he was still on…

I think you may have realised that Hughton pushed Fer and Tettey into the ‘hole’ with Howson sitting slightly deeper after 25 minutes minutes to enable Norwich to win the ball back in our half. Chris initially started with a 4-1-4-1 but swapped to 4-1-2-2-1 to stop us from playing from the back according to Epindex ..

Even after the break we were caught and pressured in midfield until in the 78th minute when TR07 swapped with Ramsey and we started to dominate again…

  41. potter says:

The general concensus in Norfolk is that no defence could have stopped the first one, didn’t stop me going on about it though and the other three. The stadium reaction was funny too, it took a good few seconds before the penny dropped and we realised what we had just witnessed. Then as they say :- The crowd went wild.

  42. rico says:

They are all oldies now Scott 😉

I kind of meant project youth as in signing kids for the first team. Think those day are done unless he’s an exceptional player..

  43. Scott from Ozil says:

Ginge, like losing, winning is a habit, and we have it atm.
Scratching out results regardless of actual form is the sign of a very good side, and a club with a winning culture, and we are winning games we wold have drawn, maybe even lost 2 years ago.
    Long may it continue 🙂

  44. rico says:

How can you say that Ts? That is not factual at all. No-one knows the true reason he signed as the conversation he held with Arsene Wenger remains private.

  45. Scott from Ozil says:

    Again, i agree Rico.
I doubt we will ever need to rely on players not yet ready, or not good enough, being brought in.
We are the best positioned club in world football to be a long term dominant side, i reckon.

  46. rico says:

I don’t think any defence would have stopped that either potter, the speed at which the passes were exchanged was incredible.

Not at all surprised the crowd took moments to respond, only pause, rewind and playback helped me out ….

  47. Scott from Ozil says:

I am off guys….the replay is about to start and i do not want to miss a second of it.
Starting to enjoy the replays of our games more and more 🙂

  48. Scott from Ozil says:

Rico, only because you are finally right hahahaha.
    Good night all….be back tomorrow.
Have a great day and wear the shirt with pride!!

  49. tsgh says:

Kt- back to BVB match, I wonder if Jakub Blas’kowski will start ahead of Mkhitaryan in the hole? Reus was subbed after 66 minutes yesterday to keep him fresh.

Reus vs Sagna will be a hot contest…. I think AW may start Ramsey/TR07 on the rhs again to stop Marco. If Gibbs can handle Pierre-Emerick then we have to start considering Gibbs a world class player…Pierre-Emerick made Alaba look like Santos in the summer.

I think Ozil will be too quick for Sahin… Kosser vs his countryman Lew will be intersting. 3 years ago Lew at 21 or so made Per look like a Panzer tank…

Subotic and Hummels verse OG12 will be a contest too…

  50. ktr7 says:

There are so many variables to the Dortmund game ts.i feel we’ll field a side similar to the one that beat Napoli.you simply can’t allow them to break as they are deadly in transitions.we’ll dominate midfield i feel and i feel santi will make way for Rosicky and jack for Ramsey.

i have no idea who will start in the hole for them but if i had to guess id say henrik will start.

  51. tsgh says:

You believe Ozil would have signed for us if we were playing on Channel 5? 🙂

I know a lot of people come here claiming to be in the know; but I was talking about us in discussion with Ozil on the Friday/saturday before we played Spurs when it was not even news (not even on twitter or Marca) and most were think we will be in for Mata…; A few on here said to me Ozil will never play for AW because he could not attract world class players…

On the sunday I was talking about Mustapha still going to PSG and Yanited during the Tottenham game and on the Monday I was saying that Ozil had agreed to join us but RM had not faxed or hand delivered the papers to Munich as we had agreed…

Anyway, no one outside the 3 parties involved in the deal can verify what I am saying but a few days after Ozil signed for us, the media were running with all the staff that was being discussed on here days before… no smoke without fire comes to mind especially when Mustafa has stopped representing his son.

How I know about it, well it will be a breach of trust if I told you so… 🙂

  52. BrainwashedKev says:

Rico, BFG is key to our defence…

Every player makes mistakes, but the overal influence he brings, in terms of leadership and organisation, is priceless…

  53. tsgh says:

Indeed Kt- i think apart from AS roma, Napoli and OM, I will class BVB as the 3rd or 4th most deadly counter attacking team…

As you rightly said though there is variation to BVB’s game; Napoli’s midfield 2 can not be compared with Sahin and Bender/Kehl on the ball; BVB can retain the ball as we can but Reus and B’ski have that understanding Pires and Henry had in the good all days so it will be an exciting game…

  54. TizTeezy says:

Flamini! I hope he returns in time. And I thought he was one yellow card away from a suspension? Wenger should hv let him stay on, foul Tetty, get a yellow and get taken off. Misses Crystal Palace game before chamakh’s neck pops out of fear of the Flame. Comes back for the run out of the ‘big games’

  55. tsgh says:

Kev- I can’t wait to see Reus against Sagna to see if he can make it against a strong world class RB like him…

  56. ktr7 says:

Fielding a pivot of arteta/flamini with a trident of ramsey/rosicky/ozil is what i see us going for.we need to dominate midfield to nullify them.if we can do that they can’t counter.flamini will be vital too since he sets the tone when we press.

with them playing auba and reus who are more like forwards if we can field a side similar to what i’ve suggested we will starve them any supply from midfield.

  57. tsgh says:

BVB play 4-2-4 so I am hoping Klopp over respects us and matches our setup like he did 3 or 4 years ago when they had Kagawa.

We will be more mobile in midfield compared with Sahin and Bender too…

  58. ktr7 says:

Rosicky will definitely start ts.his energy, directness and tempo setting pace is ideal for such a game.thats why he did not start yesterday.

I hope we have more success in the CL this year.Wenger deserves a CL title to his CV.

  59. ktr7 says:

The energy of Ramsey Flamster Ozil and Rosicky will be key.if they start like duracell bunnies similar to vs napoli we will beat them.

  60. tsgh says:

    Flamini will be key if AW can win the CL;
I will expect Frimp to feature against Chelsea and do well to give the DM position another option too especially if injuries and suspensions bite against the Juves and RM of this world who are playing versions of 3-5-2…

  61. rico says:

Kt – I reckon we’ll start with the same 11 which faced Napoli, injury allowing. If we can play the same way then it could very well be another good night at The Emirates..

  62. rico says:

It was an almost perfect 90 mins Kt, different in both halves but very clinical and professional.

I worry that Flamini won’t be fit though…

  63. BrainwashedKev says:

Yes Ginge, the Dortmund game promises to be a fantastic display of technical, attacking football…
    Thank God it’s on ITV…..

I know Rico, but I always felt that BFG didn’t win all those German caps for being a donkey.
So I kept the faith, even when he was making a few cock-ups.
There will still be occasions when he gets skinned, but that’s up to the coaching staff to organise the team so that players’ weaknesses are not exposed.
By and large I think they have done well in that regard…

Morning Kevo, if you are reading….

  64. ktr7 says:

Santi isn’t match fit imo ts.he will play as a sub i feel.

rico the only one who has to worry about fitness issues is the patch of ground flamster headbutted…hope the grass is ok 😉

  65. tsgh says:

Thanks Kev for informing me it is on ITV; I am working away from home this week so was concerned I will miss it…

  66. ktr7 says:

Flamini is a warrior rico.if the doctors had not siad otherwise he would’ve stayed on.am confident he’ll make it.

  67. rico says:

Just watching the highlights again, what a stunning save Ruddy made in the first half to stop Giroud from making it 2-0..

  68. rico says:

But he was all over the place Kt, he could barely stand up properly.

I’m not quite so confident he’ll recover well enough but pray I’m wrong, he’s huge for us…

  69. tsgh says:

most goalies raise their game against us…

Matt Poom comes to mind… he even got a contract from us based on his highbury performances.lol

  70. ktr7 says:

I still can’t believe how good the jack’s goal is.we saw signs of this last season against west brom at home when arteta santi and jack did something similar in midfield.i’ve seen fans from clubs like Bayern just wow over that goal.its the best team goal i’ve ever seen beating the Argentina one in WC2006 when they strung together 23 passes before finishing it off with cambiasso i think.

Individual goals are brilliant but team goals are something else since the players must be in perfect harmony to execute it.

  71. rico says:

Funny really, just a couple of weeks ago, there were fans on here suggesting Jack Wilshere needed to prove himself to get in this side.

Good job Arsene Wenger didn’t think the same…. 😉

  72. rico says:

Kt, I’m not a big fan of keep praising individuals, football is a team sport and no matter how good one particular player is on any one day, it takes a squad to get us where we are and long may we remain there..

On that note, off out for a while, catch up later….

  73. tsgh says:

Of course JW needs to improve tactically;nothing has change on that front imho…

    Scoring an excellent goal does not change the fact either when Welbeck is ahead of him at international level;
JW played very well in patches yesterday considering that he is being played on the wings especially on the rhs but he did play there at youth level…
If I was being mean I would say he was in a good position to deter the Norwich goal especially since the inside right Howson came from deep to score… The boy is talent he needs to keep his head down and not believe the hype that he is the best player since Gaza…

he did well scoring and settin g up one for Ramsey; he should continue with that and then he will become what he was possibly born to be…

  74. Adam says:

Afternoon Rico. That 1st half save by Ruddy was incredible. I saw Giroud’s strike and was on my feet thinking it was in before he got down to it.
I agree about the criticism of Jack too. 🙂 it was premature.

  75. potter says:

Ruddy had a good save from Bendtner too near the end. That ball was shifting and swerving , his save was reaction with strong hands.

  76. rico says:

How old is Paddy Kenny these days, he’s still playing well for Leeds. Well he is in the game i’m watching now …

  77. GunnerDNA says:

    Morning all, good post rico.

    Giroud tops PL assists chart….

Giroud has 4 assists and then Ozil and Ramsey are in second place with 3 assists along with City’s Silva and Everton’s Mirallas.

  78. tsgh says:

Jürgen Klopp: “Özil has taken Arsenal up a level. His tactical ability for offensive football is perfect & that’s what Arsène wants.

  79. GunnerDNA says:

Jürgen Klopp: “I followed Aubameyang for two years. He’s absolutely an Arsene Wenger player,” Klopp told The Sun.

“Luck was on our side. He wanted to come to us. If you could cut his hair short he’d be a little bit like Thierry Henry. He is va-va-voom.”

  80. tsgh says:

Klopp: “The new players & the experience of the last 2 seasons can make Arsenal champions. For me, they’re favourites for the title.”

  81. rico says:

Leaving Eriksen (spelling) out is rather strange, he’s been one of their best players..

Glad Benteke is back for Villa.

  82. tsgh says:

The best midfielder in europe last season vidal is having a’mare… Juve are losing 3-2 after going 2-0 up against La Viola…

    Hi Dna…

  83. tsgh says:

Some good news for us… Lukas Podolski says in an interview with ZDF that he thinks he will be available to play again in 4-6 weeks

  84. GunnerDNA says:

Ts, Poldlski has been out for a while and is still 4-6 wks away, unbelievable, we have done well considering the players we have injured.

  85. tsgh says:

Former Yanited star Giuseppe Rossi is top striker in Europe/Serie A with 8 in 8 games ahead of Hamsik and Higuain…

  86. tsgh says:

Normal hamstring injuries last 8 weeks tops for most players.. if it is an Arsenal player its 12 weeks if we are lucky… 🙂

  87. tsgh says:

Dna, the striker I have wanted at Arsenal for over 3 years is Lew; 😉

I think if we are to buy in January then they have to come from this league otherwise it will be a waste imho…

I do not know any striker who is available who we can buy apart from Benteke or Michu.

Outside I like PSV’s Adam Maher, he has that Moroccan Dutch connection like RVP…

  88. rico says:

I know Ts, I meant on a weekly basis really. Maybe you know, being the ‘king of websites’ to c&p from 😉

  89. GunnerDNA says:

AW: “In regards to tactical understanding, he [Mertesacker] is one of the best centre backs in the world”.

  90. tsgh says:

B-52 looked sharp yesterday… I will give him a chance until summer. 🙂

FC Munchen have a grade B striker but Muller, Ribery & Robben are making the difference.

The special one has always had 1 striker but relied on his wingers/forwards to score to make him one of the most successful managers in history….

  91. tsgh says:

I know you love you a Benz… lol
I have never been sold on him just like Hig but as I always say, I do not watch a lot of RM games so I am open to be convinced…. He is a bottler and a primadona so I am not big on him…

I use to watch Malaga last season because of Isco and Camacho; Spanish football; I liked Negredo,Medel and Rakitic of Seville last season…

  92. tsgh says:

If all things were equal I would like Rooney for £15M but the Mancs will not sell so I am not even dreaming about it…

Rooney with his brains compensates for his ‘fat habits’.. he has really impressed me again after I took a neutral and open view to his style of play…

  93. Joaquim Moreira says:

    afternoon all!
I’ve just watching Firorentina-Juventus (4-2) and a little bit of Hamburger-Stuugard (3-3).Djourou was played . More or less
Villa are happy for not playing with 10 men…
    Come on Villa!

  94. tsgh says:

Dna,talking about Pierre Aug. he was a steal at £7m for BVB; as a long term BVB fan I was happy for him to join the yellow and blacks as he was too similar to Gerv…

  95. GunnerDNA says:

A player like Delph would flourish beside AR in MF. Football has changed, players got to have the ability to play in more than 1 position.

  96. tsgh says:

    Shite… Mr Row Z has scored…

I like Holtby; the dinosaurs at the FA should have signed him up for us i.e England…

  97. tsgh says:

Ox is very good and has potential but I think he wants to play CM; as a forward I am not so sure he is as dangerous; saying that Pierre just improved 3 years ago so…
My issue with Ox is that he just wants to run with the ball when he gets it which may be exciting when it works but like most ‘speedsters’ it never works out long term imho…

An example is Robben who was as frustrating as Gerv until he learnt to vary his game in the last 3 years with maturity…

  98. Joaquim Moreira says:

La Fiori was played very well in the second half and Juve defenders were making a few mistakes.
Roma is the top now. also Gervinho

  99. potter says:

Chichaarito is getting no game time ,Bendtner can understudy Giroud. The Mexican would offer a different set of problems should we need them.

  100. rico says:

I hoped he’d be part of the deal with RvP – but AW seldom does player/cash swap deals. Maybe the Gallas/Cole deal put him off when we were robbed.

I wouldn’t be at all unhappy if we signed him…

  101. AndrewH says:

Evening. Just wonder what those out injured, especially poor Ox, are thinking about the football we are playing?

Any other weekend without THAT GOAL, Ramsey’s would be the talk of the weekend, especially the way his season has started.

In 40 years of following these lads, I can never remember a new player settling in so quick as Ozil. Granted he is class, but that’s never a guarantee. Charlie Nicklaus, Dennis B, Woodcock, Platty, all took time. Only one I can think of for immediate impact is…. Flam but he’s been there before!

  102. rico says:

Hi Andrew, I suspect they are loving it, just like we are…

Should make them all realise just how hard it will be to get a starting place and how hard they need to work to get the chance – good to have the competition for places .. 🙂

  103. Scott from Ozil says:

Lee, I said yesterday that on any other day we would be raving about Aaron’s goal, but it ranked distant second this time.
    Incredible quality.

  104. rico says:

Can’t disagree Lee, all four were pure class..

Ruddy was outstanding, we were talking yesterday about the one he made from Giroud in the first half…
