Arsenal will be matching Bayern & Dortmund! Gazidis confirms big announcement due….

Morning all…

Ivan Gazidis:

We think we have got a fantastic manager.

We hope he wants to do what he is doing for the long term. I believe he does. I think he is still ambitious, still driven and sees the potential of the club as he looks forward and I think he is very excited by that.

We have a great relationship and he has a great relationship with the board. So, quietly and at the right time I think we will make an announcement on that when things are all put in place.

We have got a lot of confidence in Arsene that he is the right person to take the club forward and I think he will want to do that. This is going to happen very quietly behind closed doors, privately and then there will be an announcement.

That news won’t be pleasing to all, maybe even most – but it seems far more likely that Arsene Wenger is staying put for a few more seasons yet.

I’ll slip the ‘paper talk’ in now:

Gazidis says we can afford to sign Wayne Rooney, most newspapers and Sky Sports link us to Fellaini and suggest that we have made an offer which meets his ‘get out’ clause. Sky bet are so confident of this being true, they have slashed the odds.. Oh, and Newcastle’s Steven Taylor is the latest defender linked…

All good fun eh!

Ivan Gazidis has also been talking about where we are and where we will as a club ‘should be’ in the next few seasons:

This year we are beginning to see something we have been planning for some time, which is the escalation in our financial fire power.

That is going to happen partly into next season, it is part way available now in the summer, but the following season as well.

It is a progression over the next two seasons and is quite significant for the club. We should (eventually) be able to compete at a level like a club such as Bayern Munich.

I am not saying we are there by any means, we have a way to go before we can put ourselves on that level, but this whole journey over the past 10 years really has been with that goal in mind.

So if all that is being said gets done, that future which has so often been labelled as being bright, could soon become the present.

The season ticket renewal date has passed hasn’t it so this must all be true.

In any case, he wouldn’t tell us porkies would he?

That’s it for another day, have a good one…

  1. Latest Arsenal News says:

Would be great if the bid for Fellaini is actually true but I believe United/Moyes will be ready to rock our boat and they will surely blow us out of the water with wage offers.

  2. Frank Risdon says:

Arsene ,please do not leave it to 31 august before you buy a player, get in quick and don’t be left with all the rubbish.
    Frank

  3. potter says:

Actually season ticket renewals were extended until today. So it could be a significantly timed press release. All in all he just reiterated the PHW line , we want Arsene to stay and we have money to spend , everything else you read today is pure speculation.

  4. allezkev says:

So that’s picking up Rocky from the Strand.

Then picking up two carpet fitters from Liverpool St. 😉

    Then off for a ruby.

    10th June.

    Sorted

  5. rico says:

    Morning all..

Xr’s – have they, Jose gets one over AW already then. That is of course if we were ever really after him….

  6. rico says:

Potter – I think IG is being very clever with his words. basically, over to you Arsene, it’s your head on the block if you don’t make a few ‘proper’ signings….

  7. allezkev says:

    Morning Gooners.

Yeah, Gazides sounds bullish, but Actions speak louder than Words…

And the only Action I’ve seen is Sanogo…

Plenty of Words, tons of Speculation, Reports, Rumours, Tittle Tattle galore, but as of yet I’ve seen nothing to threaten my Fiver from Rico…

Just hand it over boss… 😉

    Lata

  8. frednerk says:

    Nearly choked on me cornflakes,
    Fellaini,Rooney and Taylor.
    Great being a gooner..

    Season tickets sales are down,
going by the people I know(me included),
I hope the rumours are right…..to-day.
I can then brag..if it was’nt for me,
    we would still be signing……nobodies

  9. Jay says:

morning all ,as we predicted on s.t. deadline day we have a stament fron Kroenkes puppet Gazidis saying that large amounts of money are available to Wenger.Fellaini,Rooney are in the sights , dont hold your breath folks,we have been here before on this day.Spot on Rico regarding Wengers position on this stament ,Perhaps Gazidis is cleverer than we thought

  10. Wavy says:

So, pur period of austerity is over!
Project syouth has been cancelled and is now history.
We can expect new faces, bit not those that the fans want, just Wenger Boys!
It’s a brave new world! Or it’s just the same old………

  11. Xr!s says:

Rico,I saw it on twitter. It should be rumours as usual.

I read that somewhere that Rooney tweeted to Jack about playing together and deleted the tweet after some minutes. Rumours too,I guess. The Fellani buyout clause activated news too. I thought you would talk about it,Rico

  12. max says:

Great! Tell everybody we’ve got lots of money to spend. Rooney, Fellani, we’ve been here before boyz. This is like having a beautiful girlfiend who teases you night after night, you know it’s going to end in frustration, but you just got to go through the motions just in case tonite’s the night.

  13. rico says:

fred – have you not renewed your St?

Jay, and to make that comment at the same time he talks about Wengers future, cunning I think 😉

    Brave new world Wavy…. Hopefully

Micko – he better mean matching Bayern/Dortmund in more than just a business plan eh…. And he did mention how good the CL final was.

  14. rico says:

Xr’s – that’s the first I heard about the tweet, I blame you for not telling me sooner 😉

  15. rico says:

max, we don’t need IG to tell us the club has money, everyone reads/listens to the footie news…

There has always been money I suspect. Now IG just wants the fans to know that the spending is being sanctioned.

Well, that’s my take on it anyway but I could be totally wrong….

  16. Wavy says:

The best we are going to get are going to be ‘tent signings’ not a marquee in sight!
Not sure about Fellaini, he may have had his fill of Moyes, so he might just look elsewhere. I suppose Arsenal may be possible, but not very likely imo.

  17. Micko says:

rico, sensible, prudent, financial management, just what the fans want, we’re spoilt rotten, some supporters just can’t see it !!!

  18. Xr!s says:

Oh!! Sorry,Rico. I hope I get forgiven for that because these days, ladies hardly forgive. Lol.

Is it possible to say you can afford a 200,000p/w player but don’t make it happen? I’m just being optimistic here

  19. rico says:

Ha ha Micko. I want all of that but with a bit of spending thrown in. Well, more like like a bit more sensible spending, not wasting money on the likes of Squilli, Park, Chamakh etc etc….

  20. Jay says:

Loved Wenger assessment on Ryo Myaichi,he will be a success because of his traditional Japanese qualities.Did he mean that he is a dab hand with a camera, and can eat his own body weght in sushi? Cant remember too many Japanese players making it in the Pl

  21. GeorgeSydAust says:

Some may call it blind faith, others madness but we have the best manager in the PL. I’d be happy for Wenger to sign for another ten years.
For all the knockers, be careful what you wish for. We might end up with someone like Moyes….

  22. tsgh says:

    Morning all,

Nice one Rico. I admire your ability to conjure up news for us all… 😉

IG never fails to amaze me… so he reckons AW is the man and he has tonnes of money to spend. Wow…. who in their right mind telsl a potential seller how much money they have to spend before asking for the price of the item… I take it IG has not huggled in Bombay or Marrakesh before…

Those comments are not helpful. In fact it is just done to entice potential ST buyers who will be gullible to fall for that trick…

So DD comes out and says AW can’t buy anyone… and IG comes out to say AFC can buy the likes of Falcao but will not buy because of AW…. but wait a minute we will still offer him a new contract…

So AW is so amazing that he has money to spend but refuses to buy BIG, which thereby causes us to squeeze through to 4th. the club then struggles to sign fans up on ST?

  23. frednerk says:

Cancelled the direct debit a couple of weeks ago..Rico
    me and my son’s.

Nearly all my mates did a few years ago.
We were told it would take 5 years to get back to
    strength when we moved.
Fed up with all the lying.

  24. tsgh says:

Most fans love the club and have long affiliation with it so even if a worm such as Robson is made the manager of the club they will still buy ST and support the club… it is very insulting for IG to tell blatant lies just to get money off people who can’t afford ST’s but are enticed by words of promise to spend BIG…

And ‘the worm’ said this morning on Talkshite that Monreal has been a failure and that in the last 7 yeears only SC19 has been a decent signing… Really? If we have such a bad them then the EPL is shite to allow us to finish 3rd or 4th each season… jokes!

He reckon Rednose showed AW how good VP is or can be, because Vpursey is a better palyer now… what a minute he was so good he did not win the PFA awards this time round?

  25. rico says:

    😆 Jay…

GSA – Unless this summer see’s proper signings in the door, I hope the club do not offer AW a new contract…

  26. martin wengrow says:

Gazides has made it clear that Wenger now has the resources to compete closer to the top end of the market. In doing so, what he is intimating is that if it doesn’t happen it is down to Wenger.
Personally I couldn’t care less who we sign. My only hope going forward is that we have a squad that will be capable of being serious contenders for all the honours. We might not necessarily win them, but let’s at the very least, be competitors.

  27. eastsidepaul says:

The idea of Fellaini & Cesc in midfield …. dear god!
Cazorla in that number 10 role behind Gonzalo Higuain the goals will flow!

But that senario is very unlikely!

  28. Adam says:

Morning Rico and all. Oh dear, there’s a lot of negativity on here today. Being an optimist I prefer to look on the bright side and believe that we will all be delighted when the now signings are announced. Come on now..Hurrah for the Gunners! Five more years of Arsene, at least.

  29. rico says:

Thanks Ts, when did DD say can’t buy anyone?

Wasn’t he suggesting Cesc could be on his way back to us a day or so ago?

  30. tsgh says:

DD was saying AW would buy who is available… big clubs make deals happen. They make offers sellers can’t refuse…

Waiting for a potential deal to happen or still waiting to identify players you want or need to strengthen is not being proactive…

My view is that IG (who people choose to believe was selected by AW because of his weakness) and Stan are all very satisfied with the way things are being run at the club…. Yes we can all debate and disagree/agree on the competence of AW but fact is the owner of the club.

My question is when Stan looks at the books and sees that chelsea have spent over £150 bars on players in the last 2.5 years and only recorded a mere CL and UEFa cup plus FA cup and a revenue which is only 10-15M more than ours does he care for now to spend big?

  31. max says:

Robson like many of us has turned from frustration to anger, that’s an angry, irrational man you hear now. Miyachi is a good example of Wenger treating us like fools, who would believe the man after he kept telling us how good Senderos, Djourou, Denilson, and Bendtner were going to be. I regularly vented my anger with primal screams in my back garden over the last few years, but I’ll start the season with resigned indifference to avoid inevitable disappointment.

  32. Scott from Oz says:

Max, should he buy players and twll us they are going to be shit lol
    Bloody hell.
    Morning everyone.

  33. tsgh says:

    Morning Scott and Emma…

Max, I can understand what you are saying but, peole make it seem like we are the only team without deadwoods etc… the chavs had Malouda on 90k and he was not even allowed to train with the first team squad; and he is not the only one… Roman is still chasing MUTU for his ‘white nosing antics’… 😉

$hiity are still paying for part of M Johnson’s salary 80k/w… most fans dont even recall him… the player who was touted as England sanswer to Ballack 7 or so years ago…

How many of Fergies buys last season played for Manure?

Then there are the likes of QPR and Everton… how many of QPR’s 50 or so players bought within the last 24 months have actually played…

Its frustrating for even the most positive one’s amongst us but lets all put things in perspective!

  34. tsgh says:

Why isn’t Richard Law in London negotiating on deals?

I guess he plays by the rules so he is waiting for the transfer window to open 😉

  35. rico says:

Clubs are allowed to agree outside the window, just as we did last season with Podolski..

1st July is only the contract date isn’t it?

  36. tsgh says:

Rico, you are right…. I was being sarcastic about D. Law… all I am saying is there is no excuse not to spend unless they are saying all their prime targets are playing in the Confederation cup re the players are from Brazil, Spain, Italy, Nigeria, flipping Tahiti (no disrespect), Mexico and Uraguay 😉

Its a big con which is insulting to hard-up fans who love the club…

Shouldn’t IG be talking at the Bilderberg Summit in Nth London about how to dupe fans instead of spin phish…

  37. emma says:

rico – I guess so as well. At least IG has made it known this time that we can afford to pay the wages of Shriek and even do more. What will be the use if we have the money in the bank and we can’t spend it. For a start if the info pedaling around about fellaini that shows an intent. We need a beast in our midfield to boss games and he has all the attributes. At least Fellaini has got EPL exp. under his felt and will fit straight in. I still don’t rate shriek to lead our attack. There are better players who will fit into our system perfectly but we need to open that purse and spend spend spend. We are 3 players away from winning the league next season.

    Hi Ts

  38. Scott from Oz says:

Ginge, you touched on Utd’s new signings.
Kagawa…yes, only playing v Australia, but he was a different player the other night compared to what i have seen at Utd.
    He was awesome.

  39. Scott from Oz says:

It was only last season we were told we could not match other clubs for fees and wages, so yes, this is a step forward.

  40. rico says:

Ts – but none of us know what IG, AW or Dick Law are up to. What if the Fellaini story is true and they are thrashing out personal term with the player as we type…..

Or sorting out a deal for Wooney? 😉

    Who knows…..

  41. tsgh says:

Rico, if they are doing things in the background as well as talking the talk on TV…fair play to them… but all I see or have seen over the last 5 years is PHW or IG stating during the season when the window has closed is we have money to spend but a weak before the window opens…. ‘we will not spend 50M on a single player’ or we have offer a respected amount to player A or B then if they want to earn more somewhere then they can go’….

Last September IG said we will compete in 2 years time with the big boys… now with ST takers down they are ready to spend…

  42. rico says:

That’s what I like about the statement emma, unless IG is lying through his back teeth, things are looking a lot better.

Ok, its all talk right now but how many fans have asked for the club to tell us what is going on, well now he has..

Now its time to back up the talk with some action in this TW….

  43. Scott from Oz says:

    We should test something out.
Pick a player, someone NOT linked with Arsenal….it will be hard, i know….then each of us go to other forums, logs and FB groups and tell people what we have heard.
I am tipping it would not take long to do the rounds.

  44. W.A.T.H says:

Thing is Emma we all slag off journo’s and the next minute we believe one who tweets about players…?
Utter crap if you ask me how does he know who we want or don’t want, Ornstein is sensible but he will not know who we going for just like the rest of us..!

  45. Kevin KJ says:

    Max
“This is like having a beautiful girlfiend who teases you night after night.”

No max. This means you no longer have to stand there watching her while you play with yourself – you can pull out one of Adams ‘Tickling Sheaths’ from yesterday and have some proper fun!!

    Emma
I share your opinion of Rooney, plus I can’t stand the bloke.

    Scott from Oz
Spot on. This is a massive step forward. Two years time we will be at £300m, alongside Bayern and Barca. When I get a wage increase it means I have more money to spend and I can buy some nicer things. With 70% of a clubs income going back to these greedy, parasitic players (90% in the Championship!!), it is obvious what this means.

  46. Kevin KJ says:

    Scott
Lionel Messi said he admires the way Arsenal play football and loves the passion of our fans. He also said he likes London and would like to live there one day.

Visit LeGrove and post that. Be funny watching those foul mouthed, idiotic sociapaths going into hyperbole. When I looked on LG, I kept thinking they were calling each other clint.

  47. allezkev says:

Ginge, re:12.29, if we were so bothered, to look on a QPR blog or the blog of another club, i’ve no doubt that we would find fans of those clubs, moaning about the deadwood at their club…
The thing is, as far as the Net is concerned, Arsenal are bigger news than any other EPL club.
Our blogs are routinely scanned by cnuts like Sami Mokbel, Fat-Boy Durham and Stewart ‘I’m.not bitter’ Robson.
Then we are shaat upon by all those crap blogs out there trying to sell advertising (see Adam’s post from yesterday).
You know the ones; Caught Outside, The Bollocks Report, ShittyFirst, Here in Your Dreams, Transfer Tavern of Crap etc etc etc.
Finally we have to put up with all the usual spin of Gazides, Wenger and all the ITK nonsense from Twitter…
But that’s why the summer is so great.
Especially when I know, for certain, that i’m gonna be a Fiver richer on Sept 2nd… 😉

  48. SD_UK says:

    Hi everyone,

    so not much happenning then,

    Rooney talks gaining ground,

I can only see Wenger using it as a distraction to buy another French gem 😉

But in any case I think Manure Untd might be broke and Rooney’s contract was probably based on appearances and performances.
I suspect Fergie was clever and limited his appearances and his form definitely suffered .

Or Rooney got to know that RVP’s salary (£184k or £200k per week) was not conditional and that pissed him off and decided to leave but in any case if Rooney leaves Manure will be in deep sh**t

Oh fans wait it is going to happen RVP will get injured we know him more and without Rooney we could be seeing Manure in 8th position and that will make my season (even without any trophies)

OH THAT WAS ME THINKING OUT LOUD

  49. Lee says:

Everything is fine we can expect the plethora of world class players to start signing on the “Arsenal” dotted line asap…..exhale now!

  50. Kevin KJ says:

    Kev,
    Good comment.
Stuart Robson is a West Ham supporting pundit, who Arsenal fans turned on due to his disgraceful behaviour on Arsenal TV. He has no managerial record except a short term failed one at some semi-pro club. He knows about as much about football as Adrian Durham, so why is he deemed an ‘expert’ or an Arsenal.fan? He is neither. He is a t+sss*r that slags off our club at every opportunity. Only fans who seem to like him are those who also take some morbid joy in slagging off our club.

PS. You will be a fiver down and Rico will have a fiver for her electric meter, so better give it in coins.

  51. allezkev says:

Gazides is a ‘salesman’, his job is to sell ST’s.
Not sure how they’ve gone this summer.
Any clues on ST’s, Rico, Wath, Lee?

Wenger doesn’t care, he’s living the dream.

    Job security.

No pressure from above to win trophies.

Free to indulge in his fantasy of building a team of youngsters, into CL winners.

While we pay thru the nose for tne priviledge…

  52. Kevin KJ says:

    Adam
“Just another leech on the club’s backside really”.
Great quote! Been plenty of leeches sucking everything they can out of our club recently.

  53. allezkev says:

KJ, yes I know all about Robson.

He is an arrogant man who caused problems in the West Ham dressing room when he was there.

As for Fatty Durham, nobody with half-a-brain cell should take anything he says, as meaning anything of value.

He is the major reason I never listen to Talk Rubbish.

Sami Mokbel writes for the Daily Mail, with a remit to write utter bollocks concerning Arsenal.
A kind of an Asian, Martin Lipton, i’m sure you know what I mean…

Fleet St, as it was, is full of wankers like them…

  54. allezkev says:

In fact KJ, you see the same names, at every newspaper, with the same Mokbel remit, to write (invent) ludicrous copy on Arsenal, always with a negative slant….

Mind you, the club doesn’t help itself…

Personally, I would sack the clubs entire Press Office…

  55. W.A.T.H says:

AK, heard ST’s are roughly same as last year so far….! club level and boxes quiet but there no time frame on those for renewal…!

  56. Kevin KJ says:

    tsgh
Chelseas revenue is inflated to £235m due to their CL success and the rewards that brings, additional TV money etc. They are claiming they are now profitable, it is a nonsense – smoke and mirrors. Just short of a billion quid has been moved to Fordstam, the holding company owned 100% by the arrogant Russian.

No sustainable club could rack up that amount of debt and continue to operate it would go into admin. The sooner despicable clubs with the morals they have disappear back to where they came from, the better. They are no example on any level.

The £300 million we will be generating by 2015, after the new sponsorship deals kick in, excludes any additional income from an extended run in CL and ultimately success. We service our own debts, so essentially we have the same situation year on year.

The extra £70 million per year IG mentioned is around £1.3 million per week. That alone is around 6 top players on £200,000 per week…….

  57. Kevin KJ says:

    Kev
I agree again. I think the Arsenal press office is a joke. We are letting people take pot shots at us from all over the place, much of which is total nonsense. A lot of rubbish is regurgitated by Arsenal fans and taken as fact, simply because the club does not clarify or communicate to its fans correctly. Rico and I have discussed this before. The situation about the financing of the stadium project and plans for the club all poorly explained, perhaps deliberate. All fans have to go is other fans comments and the mischief makers in the media. Would never happen at Man Utd, as much as it pains me to say that.

  58. Lee says:

The extra revenue blah blah blah, is only relevant if it’s re-invested in the squad imho….all will be revealed within the fullness of time, I guess!?!?

  59. Kevin KJ says:

Lee, that is very true. However, you have to have it to spend it and it is crucial to be competitive. We are now in a very strong position. Let us hope it gets spent on the players we know we need.

  60. Lee says:

Kevin KJ, as I said, all will be revealed in the fullness of time, I guess….pointless keep talking the talk, let’s walk the walk! Ambition and intent is what I’m looking for…..

  61. coadsi says:

Hi folks, I am not prepared to believe the Arsenal PR machine until I see the player announced on the .com. I said it already Rooney would not be my first choice but if the rumours so far are to be believed, then Rooney, Fellaini , Cesc on loan, Alder (not Cesar), DM and a defender would be a good start methinks. An even better start would be to get rid of Diaby, Chamack, Park, NB52, Santos, Gervinho, Mannone, Fabianski plus a few others on loan like Galindo and Silva.

  62. tsgh says:

Kj, good point about delibrate miscommunication about stadium project…
I admit I have no business acumen but the little I have read about business leadership etc from the likes of Carnegie and Rockefeller tells me that CEOs and chairman/persons do not have to tell the truth about the finances of companies floated on markets… the general concensus is that those who matter ie stakeholders can found out relevant information if they want very easily i.e annually.

The rule has always been that a CEO kept people investing in an asset until it goes down in flames. The likes of Goldman believed even if you can deny whatmost has been seen or heard so far as there is someone willing to listen…

  63. tsgh says:

Chelsea are a joke and most of their fans are delirious … I heard they are charging the press access to Mauren-hoes press conference on Monday…

Its funny how all of a sudden those fans go on about success they deserve…before Roman came along Bates was willing to sell the club to a drank in Soho for a bag of tobacco, now they think a manager like Rafa is not fit to ran their club.
and I heard Roman does not even own Chelsea… he is allegedly a front…;)

  64. coadsi says:

On a different note, I have sadly brain washed my 6 year old son to be a gooner. He has been decked out in his Arsenal kits from he was a baby. Recently he asked if it was ok for him to support another team, a good team, a winning team. Apparently his friends at school have been telling him about a team called Barca and what they have accomplished. I was gutted but I had to tell him it is ok, but expect me to buy any Barca kits for him. I think he doesn’t mind because I have stopped buying arsenal kits until they show me some ambition and start to win things. I even went as far as telling him Barac are cheats and that’s why I do not like them. The jury is still out if he will move on. It’s too late for me to support another team but I don’t think it would be fair to force mediocrity on the lad.
In the past when we lost it would affect me badly, now it has no effect. I can even know that we are playing and not watch the match, that’s how much I have become disgusted with how they are running my beloved club at the moment. Is it just me or do others feel the same?

  65. Kevin KJ says:

This is the Arsenal, the greatest club in history and we are just about to become even greater. Lets shout about it. The trophies will be coming and serious ones too. Be positive Gooners.

Do not under-estimate what has been achieved. Seriously, this is phenomenal.

Cant wait for the season to start, this will be a good one. Once we get a couple of decent signings on board, Arsenal will be back – and for good.

  66. George says:

Coadsi , I had the same with my 8 year old who goes to school with loads of Chelsea and spuds fans. He said to me Bale is the best player in the world and Chelsea are winners.

Asked me if he could change team, I put him in his place by saying , ” we have won more than both of them joke clubs put together, so no your not to move to the dark side.

I took him to arsenal vs Coventry 6-1 and he thought wow , Aa23 is the nuts!
I was also convincing by taking away his PS3 and Xbox 360…till he gave me his word

  67. Kevin KJ says:

    Evening Rico
We have to wait but don’t worry I have every confidence the fiver will be winging it your way. You should have put more on it. 🙂

  68. coadsi says:

Good one George, sounds like a plan. i think i have to throw a little black mail in there as well then.
Let me say respect to you guys who have the stamina to blog ll year round about Arsenal.
Rico and your guest to keep on posting. like i said before i just stopped caring, hope that can change soon but i am not holding my breath.

  69. rico says:

Are you shouting at me Adam 😉

I am not so sure – at least not until one top signing has been made….

  70. Adam says:

Sorry Rico. It’s these tablets. You know how they are.
Yep it’s definitely Wenger’s contract announcement.

  71. Wavy says:

Gazidis has made the announcement that Wenger is still wanted because Arsene is vacillating (in private, with the lights out) seeking the attention of his peers Sir PHW et al.. He needs to feel the love, because if he doesn’t get the right, positive vibes, he is going to throw his toys out of his pram and stamp his feet and then have a proper tantrum! See if he doesn’t.
He will sign a new contract. He finished fourth. Judged in May. He has been successful. The club are back in the game. They can buy any player they choose, (wenger chooses, i should say).
Where will all this phoney buying stuff end?
I think we should all judge himand the club on the 1st July! But will the sh1t. Hit the fan or will it all go down the toilet? Huge signings, magnificant players – no chance – not on Wenger’s watch. New players will arrive though…….eventually but how much value they will add is probably debatable. They will mostly be ‘one for the future’!

Final word, the fans can’t live with him but equally, the fans can’t live without him!

Come on Chef do something to surprise us……….but not another Sylvestre!

Have we really to go through another three weeks of this purgatory? It’s. enough to make you want to cut your own throat!

    Micko
Nice and warm, just about perfect Mate. Sometimes it rains, sometimes the sun shines – I know which I prefer.:-)

  73. allezkev says:

The wind always blows a gale in Ireland, so I am told…

Today in London, it was a sunny and very warm day…

    That’s the weather report….

    As for Arsenal, zzzzzzzzzzzzz.

  74. allezkev says:

The agent of Carlos Vela has insisted that his player won’t be returning to Arsenal…

That is devestating news and allied to the depature of Squillaci is sure to send Adam into a deep depression…

I, too, am devestated by that news 😆 😆 😆

  75. EastSidePaul says:

If I was Hull or Cardiff, I could do worse business than picking up the likes of Arshavin, Conor Henderson, Benayoun, Malouda, Hitzlsperger, Schwarzer, Santa Cruaz, Bridge, Upson, Bentley, Gallas, Franco Di Santo.

All free, all have a lot of premier league experience. Could make a half decent team out of that! Get the best out of them and you’re looking top 10 easily!

  76. eastsidepaul says:

    Free Team.. (Huge wages!)

    —————-Schwarzer————–

    —RB—–Upson——–Gallas———-Bridge—

    Bentley–Hitzlsperger—Benayoun—-Malouda

    ———————Arshavin—————–

    —————-Santa Cruz—————

    Thats not bad is it?!

  77. Scott from Oz says:

Gee, i must have done an extra good job on Sean.
There IS only one football club in the world for him.
    Bale is a diver.
    Suarez a biter and diver.
    Barca….stole Cesc.
    Real…..no thanks.
    Yanited…..he hates Fergie.
    Spurs…..WHO???
    Chelski…..WHO??
    I am a bad person 🙂

  78. potter says:

    Any similarities here ?

Fast forward in George Karl’s career and now he is the coach of those Nuggets. He’s in the last year of his contract, his team wins 57 regular season games, and loses in the first round of the playoffs. Yes, he got the Nuggets to the playoffs nine consecutive years but that was the eighth time his Nuggets were ousted in the first round. His subsequent termination was expected by many.

The man who did the firing was none other than Nuggets President Josh Kroenke, son of owner Stan Kroenke.

Is this the big announcement ?

  79. rico says:

Bridge has been snapped up by Reading …

Potter – and then Josh told the fans they had been spoiled… Its possible that Josh is heading in to take over from PHW.

    Pray that day never arrives…

    Morning all….
