Arsenal striker wants to play, or he’ll leave. Wenger under orders to spend big..

Morning all.

Dreadful goings on in Brussels this morning. At the time of writing, 23 people have fallen victim to an evil terrorist plot on the airport and Metro stations. My thoughts are with the people in the Belgium capital.

Football goes on, football is another world altogether…

18 year old Kaylen Hinds who signed his first proper deal at Arsenal at the beginning of the season has basically said, play me or I’m off. On loan of course but he’s setting his sights on breaking into the first team and why not?

Of course he should be aiming high and if he’s good enough, at 18 years old, he’s old enough.

Well, that was a pretty special strike from the youngster whilst playing for England. Shame a few of the first team can’t score from outside the box in similar fashion. But of course, playing for the Arsenal first team is a far different challenge to playing for the young lions team. Not that Alex Iwobi would agree having slotted into the Arsenal team with great ease. And he’s not much older really…

Sticking with Iwobi, apparently he’s stuck two fingers up to England who made a last gasp attempt to stop him playing for Nigeria. The England camp hoped that he’d stick with the country he’d played for through his younger years. Shame really as the ACON will mean Arsenal could lose him in January/February, depending on how well his country does, each time the competition comes around and the Betfred welcome promotional code is released.

The same applies to Mohamed Elneny who right now is off with Egypt as they attempt to qualify for the ACON which takes place in 2017. If he carries on playing the same as he’s doing right now, he’ll be a huge miss as the club go into 2017 next season. I wonder if Arsene Wenger has thought of that?

Back to Kaylen Hinds and I suspect he’s not going to be the only one hoping to get his chance in the first team next season as the club have quite a few 18-20 year olds who probably think they are deserving of a chance in the Premier League.

Akpom, Hayden, Toral, Zelalem, Maitland-Niles, Jenkinson to name just a few but not all will get their chance. Some might not be prepared to wait, others may not be deemed ready and others might just not be good enough. And those no doubt will be off to pastures new.

Have to love a story in The Sun this morning which suggests that Arsene Wenger has been told, by whom it doesn’t say, to buy big in the summer and spend a huge chunk of the many millions in the Arsenal bank account.

‘Gunners chiefs want him to splash out on names like Toni Kroos, Gonzalo Higuain, Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and John Stones this summer’.

Kroos, Pogba and Stones wouldn’t be a bad start…..

On the other hand, apparently Arsene Wenger is keeping tabs on a striker from the second tier in France. Anthony Koura is his name and he’s 22 years old. Right now he’s recovering from injury – a damaged vertebrae in his back but he is due to return next month. Stoke, Sunderland and Newcastle have also monitored Koura this season with Nimes expected to do business for around £2 million.

That’s more like it eh……

All seems a bit futile with what’s going on in Belgium, doesn’t it?

Wenger signing a player with back issues, he’s got previous!

  2. Marshall says:

Morning Rico. We have so many promising youngsters, would be nice to see them flourish.

Re spending I hope it is not a PR thing by the club. As usual AW likes them crocked and from league 2 he’s definately cheap. His type.

  3. Marshall says:

Oh and my heart goes to the victims of those brainless jihadists. Nobody should loose a life cause of those knobs. Shame since it was an open secret thpse guys were residing in Brussels. That’s up to the belgium govt to control though.

Rumors had it that OBL was an arsenal fan. Then Ramsey striked 🙂 .

  4. rico says:

    Morning Marshall.

It sure would and there’s a few who if they get a chance could prove themselves.

ST PR spin – they are so predictable eh…

  5. Marshall says:

It’s what got us to bring the negative banners.
But i’d love me some Kroos, and Reus and PEA 🙂 and…now am being greedy.

    Morning all.
Shocking what has happened in Begium, shocking.

The shopping list! Bizarre goings on in and around the re-modelled marble halls. They must think we’ve all fallen off a Christmas tree. Every year the same old shite! As if any good supporter would fall for the same old garbage. Have they not heard the story of the boy who cried wolf? Obviously not, either that or they are just taking us for fools. The latter I suspect.
Anyway, if it all comes true and Wenger spends big then I shall be off to recreate the humble pie I ate on Saturday for tea. It wasn’t very tasty though!

    morning rico and the house

typical arsenal, leaking a load of tosh as soon as the heat is on kroenke from the fans

wenger will never be told what to do, he runs the club and doesn’t answer to anyone

    Wenger and kroenke out

  8. Wavy says:

    Wenger an’ Kronke out
Slightly abbreviated to create a slogan. It would or rather could read as:

WanK has a ring of truth about it, don’t you think?

  9. rico says:

I bet if we looked back over the last 3/4 years on HH, the comments around this time of the season would be very similar.

    There’s probably a reason for that… 😉

    Hi Mg.

What a futile vile Hideous Man, Not a time to be finger pointing, anything America or any E.U country tries to do for the best, he Veto,s.

Play me or i,m off, looks like he,s off so, Rico
A player i,m really hoping gets into our first team squad is Zelalem, surely he should be near ready.

A john hartson tweet today “Arsene Wenger will be the Arsenal manager next season and will spend £150 million on new players this summer..
B****x, just another case of AW been under pressure, so the b******T stories start streaming. god it,s tedious, sick of it.

    Afternoon all,

Nice and tight in the race for top 4.

    3rd Arsenal 55pts
    4th City 51pts
    5th West Ham 50pts
    6th United 50pts

-We have 5 winnable home games with West Ham and City the tough away of the 3.
-Man City have 3 home against West Brom, Stoke and Us but away to Chelsea and Saints toughest of their 5. With champions league in between.
    – United have 5 home games, toughest been Everton and Leicester and play Spurs and West ham of the 3 away games. Added fixture of the FA Cup Quarter finals.
-West Ham have 5 home games with United and Us been their toughest, with Leicester and Stoke the toughest of the 3 away games. Not to mention FA cup against United.

  12. dublingunner says:

The article says he,s been ordered to go on the biggest spending spree of his career, and they will not consider giving him a new deal unless he starts competing in the transfer market, ok back the truck up, you mean (1) their actually considering a new deal, and (2) if he has to be ordered to spend money, what the f**K is going on here. Let,s hope this is just a made up piece of media B******T.

  13. robin banks says:

Wenger is an example of a despicable human.

    Arrogant, self-indulgent and deceitful.

Enough is enough, sacking him is the only answer.

  14. dublingunner says:

BILD: Arsenal have offered €43m for Gladbach’s Granit Xhaka, with an €8m annual salary. Xhaka reportedly met with Arsene Wenger at the weekend.

It,s reported that €43m fee, €5m for player, €2.3m agent, €8m wages. Terms are being negotiated.
Hitzfeld dubbed him a “young Schweinsteiger” That price tag for a 23 year old, Wenger, I just can,t see it.

  15. Lee says:

“I don’t play the game to smash records, I know what I can do and I know that I’m one of the best assist makers in the world, but it’s all about titles for me.”

“If I have a great season but we don’t win anything, what does it bring me?”

Mesut Ozil today in the media….

  16. Obi says:

Sad. Imagine you have no beef with anyone all you are doing is boarding a plane or a train then….. senseless. Re: Bradster @12:30, that is the reason why Arsene will have no choice but to strengthen with quality. Chelsea, United, Citeh, little totts, West Ham, LC, loserpool, all are going to strengthen because all teams will have money…. the 4th place trophy might be 8th. Even Stokes spent well this season. THIS TIME, the stories may be true and its also obvious that Arsene is feeling the pressure even his demeanor is changing.

  17. Wavy says:

A direct lift from Meza via his Twitter feed:

Have seen the media reports today. Arsène Wenger was a big reason for me joining Arsenal – this hasn’t changed! #Respect #AFC

So that scotches that rumour. It would seem the assist Meistersinger will not be leaving if Wenger stays, quite the reverse in fact.

  18. Lee says:

He might want to stay a little bit more if he had a truly potent striker playing in front of him, putting away a greater % of his created chances?

  19. rico says:

I see Mesut has denied wanting to leave, in fact he says AW was one of the main reasons he signed and remains the case…

  20. rico says:

Or just made up bollox Kev…

But it’s probably about getting Mesut the best new deal at Arsenal he can get. After all, if Walcott earns £140k a week, Mesut must be thinking near to £200k… Lol

  21. Intolerant Kev says:

    Morning All

    Morning Rico

The news concerning Welbeck is worrying, let’s hope he doesn’t come back from England duty injured.

  22. Intolerant Kev says:

I was listening to a radio programme discussing European football yesterday and one of the journalists was commenting on how Mancini is doing at Inter Milan and how he keeps on harping back to English football and comparing it to Serie A…

  23. Intolerant Kev says:

Agreed Rico, there’s no need to risk him, in fact it would be reckless and stupid.
Hodgson knows what he can do, so no need to risk him. He has Vardy, Kane, Sturridge, isn’t that enough?

  24. Adam says:

Morning Rico and all. Danny was a little ambiguous about his injury when interviewed after the Everton game. I did wonder then if all was well.
Apparently not. Good news about Per I think as long as whoever is manager buys a quality replacement.

  25. Intolerant Kev says:

Rico, I think that Scott Marshall was the last centre-back that our Academy produced…

Justin Hoyte was a converted full-back, and it showed.

After those two the cupboard is bare…

Not sure what they do at Hale End?
But there isn’t a budding Tony Adams or Martin Keown on the horizon… Sadly.
