Arsenal sign international Dutch midfielder! Arsene wants Pato on board….

Morning all.

Before you all get too excited, I’m talking ladies here.

Dutch midfielder Danielle van de Donk has signed from Swedish club Goteborg FC, a player who has previously played for PSV Eindhoven, VVV-Venlo and Willem II in the Netherlands.

An experienced international, she has represented Holland on 42 occasions, playing in both the UEFA Women’s Euros 2013 and the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada this summer. She joins up with Netherlands team mates Sari van Veenendaal and Dominique Janssen at Arsenal.

The Arsenal ladies manager Pedro Martinez Losa said:

We are very pleased to welcome Danielle to the club. She is a strong technical player, who will add skill and an excellent range of passing to our midfield. I look forward to working with her as we begin preparations for the 2016 season.

A strong and technical midfielder. Isn’t that just the kind of player the mens side need? One with a wealth of experience who just get’s the job done…

I was listening to Charlie Nicholas and a few others yesterday on Sky Sports and the general consensus is we desperately need a defence minded midfielder in January if we are to have a chance of winning the league. Hardly something we didn’t know already but Charlie reckons that since the day Gilberto left, Arsene Wenger has never addressed that position. He’s right.

We did when Lassana Diarra signed back in 2007 but for some reason, Arsene Wenger preferred Flamini and the younger of two French midfielders decided to quit just five months later during the January transfer window. He didn’t move for money, nor did he come out with the ‘I’m moving to win trophies’ – he couldn’t really as he joined Portsmouth. Saying that, his new club did win the FA Cup with him in the side, a cup which we have enjoyed winning the last two years so all was good for Lassana.

Then in the summer of the same year, Flamini walked out for free and Gilberto, who was by then 31, nearly 32 years old, also left.

Who were we left with?

Alex Song! The rest is history…..

We desperately need a strong midfielder who can protect the back four, One who can break up an opponents attack and turn into one of our own but will we get one in January?

I sure hope so……

Lars Bender is the name making all the gossip pages but when isn’t he. Not only him again this morning but Alexandre Pato too and according to Edu, who is now Corinthians’ director of football, he had lunch with the Arsenal manager and Pato was one of the players discussed.

It’ll only get worse as January approaches, so fasten your seatbelts!

Finally, some good news, everyone who played Tuesday will be fit to play on Sunday. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain should return and Theo Walcott won’t be far behind him…..

Have a good Thursday guys…

Rico stop playing with my emotions. You almost had me there. I was thinking to myself God let it be strootman 😀 we could use a defensive midfielder and fast. Don’t think flammers can play 3 games in a week. Morning good people and happy thanksgiving 😀

  2. goonster says:

My God that front line of Sanchez theo and pato ll be devastating. We could literally scare the pants off most teams in Europe with such a forward line. I really hope we get him. Still only 26 and still have his best years ahead of him. Make it happen arsene.

  3. goonster says:

Apparently there’s already a deal in place for him to move to arnfield. Bummer. Still rumors though but with klopp in charge. You never know. He has the pulling power Rodgers didn’t posses. Plus they have a few Brazilians on their payroll. I hope they don’t get him. He ll improve them big time.

  4. goonster says:

Rico pato us the shit. At 17 he was already world class. He could be our very own aguero. Kev he hasn’t suffered any injury in the past 3 years. He’s back kev but spuds and loserpoop fans seems to believe he ll sign for them. I pray we get him. He ll make either teams stronger almost at par with us.

  5. allezkev says:

Yeah, I remember him bursting onto the scene Stan, wasn’t he at AC Milan?

If I recall, Wenger was interested in him a few years back, so who knows?
Edu would probably put AW right on his situation…

  6. goonster says:

Apparently the deal was agreed last summer for hin to join up in January lol. Deluded scousers. Oh well knowing arsene we won’t sign him. We have welbeck theo sanchez and giroud. No chance. Bummer. Him and sanchez could be a formidable duo with ozil and santi behind them. I need me some tissue my mouth is watering already 😀

I remember seeing Edu’s debut at Filbert Street, he came on as a sub, lasted 20 minutes then pulled a muscle and off he went…

Is there something wrong in the way our players warm up???

  8. goonster says:

Kev I want to believe with you but we both know how arsene thinks. This is a man who didn’t sign a back DM because he felt arteta and flammers could do the job. Heck I even forgot Adams’ best bud sanogo 😀 no chance we re getting a striker. We have 5 by wenger’s counting. Lol

  9. goonster says:

Rico edu left for more game time. He left an invisible. I have no regrets. My last memory of him was scoring a penalty in our 7.0 rump against everton. He was visibly emotional. I miss that team maam. Class acts all of them.

  10. goonster says:

Yes maam…fabregas broke into the team at that same time so it was either stay and be benched by a little tyke or go. He chose the latter. He did score some very important goals for us. Especially against the chavs 😀

  11. goonster says:

Watching the game again I must say I was impressed with Joel Campbell’s play. Some of those passes were world class. Had reus or gundogan played such ts ll be beside himself kreaming all over 😀 Joel was immense all game that assist foe sanchez’s goal was whoa. I hope he gets more game time to prove himself.

  12. goonster says:

Yo ginge whatever happened to your Kevin debruna 😀 whom you claim was a better player than ozil 😀 he seems to have gone off the boil. Lol. What about your love child sterling? Did you see how headless he was last night??? I bet you still think otamendi is an all round better defender than kozzer. Hahahahahah ginge and his stats. O love that geezer 😀

  13. goonster says:

Rico that pass alone is worth 23 million pounds in the current transfer market 😀 his best game in an arsenal shirt. I hope he improves and put a lot if gooners to shame.

  14. malaga gooner says:

    Morning Rico and the house
Goonie, Ginge has lost his MOJO as far as stats are concerned.
never seems to get anything right any more

  15. goonster says:

MG ts is loosing the plot with each passing day. Watch him come and piss on my parade with some degrading pato stats. Lol we love him though 😀

  16. goonster says:

Rico on current form he should start ahead of aoc. You know aoc is my favorite player after ozil but campbell has shown a bit of understanding with ozil and sanchez. We need to give him a few more games to see if it’s just one of or a sign of things to come. There were 3 or 4 times him and ozil seemed to be on the same wavelength. We can’t afford to disrupt that. Campbell plays for now besides we can’t afford to rush all aoc back. We need him theo welbeck wilshere and tr7 for the title run in. Come on you gunners 😀

  17. Joaquim Moreira says:

Corinthians won Brazil League last weekend. Pato played for S. Paulo.
Both of teams come from S. Paulo.
Pato was a good player. He still a good player but not so strong and big player then was.
Those who remember him, remember him for his speed, technic, his goals.
But he has now maybe 354-35 years old and Brasil league is slower then any Europe League.

  18. goonster says:

Jm it’s all a myth. Neymar us currently ripping European football to bits. Pato ll be a hit if he joins us. Mark my words. Ozil ll make any striker look world class let alone a player like pato.

  19. Adam says:

Stan. He never made it in Europe as he was always cracked or not good enough. We are, or should be, striving to become an elite club capable of competing with the best. Pato and several others don’t fit that blueprint for me. Pessimism has nothing to do with it.

  20. goonster says:

He never made it in europe adam? ?? Really??? Go ask the Milan fans what they think of him. Fair enough injuries haven’t been kind to him but didn’t make it in europe is a bit harsh. I still remember his goal at the camp nou against barca. He’s class young and a point to prove. Sounds familiar???

  21. Micko says:

    Arsene Wenger went to Brazil,
To find him a player with plenty of skill,
They said we got the one for you,
He ain’t got a passport, his name is Edu,
    Edu Edu….Edu Edu…..Edu Edu….Edu Edu.

  22. allezkev says:

    Morning All

Interesting that Wenger likened Jamie Vardy to Alexis Sanchez…

So why not go and get him and have him in the same team Arsene?

Vardy doesn’t get injured, he’s English, so no settling in period, he’s obviously familiar with the EPL…

    Vardy or Pato???

    No brainer to me!

  23. allezkev says:

I’m not sure how good at philosophy Jamie Vardy is…?

He might not know the meaning of life but he knows where the onion bag is… ?
