Arsenal should follow Bolton’s example! Fit, strong and playing for England – get him back Arsene……

Most of you would have guessed who I am talking about but for those who haven’t I’m talking about Henri Lansbury. He’s a player who I love to watch and just pray that one day he gets the kind of chance under Arsene Wenger as others get, regardless of their performances each game.

I know that many fans are divided over certain players, Denilson, Diaby and Eboue spring straight into my mind and behind them are a few like Squillaci and Rosicky who are thought to be past their best and then there is Bendtner who many think his best will never be good enough.

We must never forget though, what one person sees in a player can be very different to what another sees and everyone’s view should be respected. (Even when it’s wrong 😉 😉 )

Anyway, my point is that right now we have no Nasri, Denilson or Frimpong and in the Premier League Diaby is suspended for the next three matches. Song is not super human, he needs some support and we have two players out on loan, one in particular is available to do just that.

One is Craig Eastmond who is currently on loan at Millwall – to be fair he needs to stay there in my opinion and toughen up.

The second of course is Henri –

Lansbury played sixty minutes on Tuesday night for England under 21’s – ok they got beat in the end 1-0 by their respective Italian side but by the time the Italians scored the winner, our Henri was off the pitch. He’s included in our first team squad this season, only his age on the 1st January 2011 prevented him for actually being named in the 25 as required by the FA.

Wenger clearly rates him very highly, only a few months ago he had this to say about our not so young anymore Englishman:

For me, Lansbury will be an Arsenal player, he is doing extremely well on loan.

Henri Lansbury is a type of player who I rate because of his qualities, but as well his mental strength, the timing of his runs. He gives you qualities that are very difficult to find in the modern game.He goes always behind the defence and he has the timing to get in the box and scores goals from midfield. He is showing that again the other night (After Spud win in CC) when you see the cross coming in, who is on the move? It’s Henri.

I like his attitude, his spirit, his mental strength and of course his qualities. He has not played for a while; he played with cramps until the last minute [against Spurs] and has a fantastic team attitude. I rate him and I like him.

So come on Arsene, we have a few missing in midfield, maybe it’s time to recall Henri Lansbury from his loan and use him wisely.

When we need a gutsy performance in midfield, who would you rather see step in, Denilson or Lansbury?

I know many will come on and say Lansbury is not a defensive midfielder, well I have said it before and I stand by comment that neither is Denilson. One thing for sure though, you won’t see Henri Lansbury overtaken by a referee when tracking back, this lad is fit and a lot quicker than Denilson and he isn’t afraid to shoot from distance!

Jack Wilshere has shown that if you are good enough, you are old enough, I think Lansbury is both!

Talking of Jack, on to tonight.

Fingers and toes will be crossed for all Arsenal players involved in the waste of time friendly matches and for once I have a reason to watch England. Theo and Jack are in from the start and of course Nikki will be in the opposing side, so three reasons to view really. Walcott was left out of last year’s World Cup squad – with Capello since admitting it was the wrong decision.

The ‘ever so low in confidence’ Nikki has had a word of warning for the England manager:

Theo can be a lesson for the way you treat Jack. It’s important to take it easy and realise he is a kid, even though he seems very mature. Theo has done well to cope with everything that has been thrown at him. He’s always very grounded.

Youngsters are always put under a lot of pressure very early in England but Jack can be a great, great player for his country.

Well said Nikki!

Finally, credit to Owen Coyle – he is fed up with the dreadful refereeing in the Premier League, so much so he has compiled a DVD of all the gaffs made during the Bolton games and ‘sent it in’ – not sure where he has sent it, I can only assume it’s to the head of the Referees association for them to review. Coyle contacted Mike Riley, Head of referees following the debacle on New Years Day when Bolton played Liverpool and the latter were wrongly awarded a penalty and then went on to score a winner in the 90th minute through Joe Cole who was offside!

Funny enough, he has heard nothing back!

Maybe Arsenal should follow suit, instead of sitting back and doing nothing about all the dreadful decisions made against us, gather the evidence and send it into the rightful place. In fact if all managers did that maybe it really would highlight just how poor the referees are in the Premier League and then surely the FA would have to act….

That’s it for today, have a good one and pray for no injuries tonight, well, not to any Arsenal players! 😉

BBC say its bruising and he’ll be back for the wekend 🙂

    Great news….

Mind you, i bet AW doesn’t risk him with Barca up next week…

  2. Rocastle says:

    Morning. Good post. Again

Maybe we should make a similar DVD and post it to you’ve been framed, Harry Hill could pick out the very worst and make some silly voice-over comments, and Arsene would get £250 for his troubles (he could get the next Cruyff from papau new Ginea for that).

I see capello has been doing our Jack the world of good…first he was the next makelele, now he’s like a mutant hybrid child of Pirlo, Baresi and Maldini. Oh and he’s the ‘future of English football’……

Has Capello not learnt that the English press are the most fickle around and they’ll put the kids up on that pedestal then kick them straight back off it to sell columns??!!…Walcott, Beckham anyone.

But don’t worry. We’ve got more in reserve. U-21 boss Stuart Pearce has now said that Josh McAchran(?) can be the next……wait for it….Jack Wilshere.

Good luck on your FIRST START Jack!!!!

  3. rico says:

    Morning Rocastle, thanks..

I think its incredible how the media and Capello can so easily pile pressure on players, especially when they are ours…

Too much pressure on Theo set him back and now they are doing exactly the same with Jack, why do folk have to compare jack with anyone, he is unique, let him just eb Jack Wilshere….

  4. Rocastle says:

He just don’t need it. I know the lads confident, he’ll have had an idea he was due to start tonight but to be branded like some make your own FIFA 11 player where you can push all his abilities to 10/10 is just fecking ludicrous.

Oh well at least we’ve finally got a world class keeper in the squad if Green chucks another one over his shoulder….

Eh, Jack Wilshere, remindsa me ovva young Gigi Buffon.

    😆 😆

  6. rico says:

world class keeper in the england squad?? where 😉

We’ll get one when Lansbury plays for the big boys, he’s a bit of a keeper 🙂

  7. James says:

qReally looking forward to watching Jack the lad play tonight, hopefully he shines, which will be a huge boost for him.

Great news on JD. If Wenger has any sense he must be rested against Wolves – It’s about time Squillaci pulled his finger out and proved himself because we desperately need him to.

As for Lansbury, I agree. He seems to have done well so far out at Norwich and I think he has the tenacity to compete.

  8. Rocastle says:

    Rico!

Have you read his tweets? Tiiiny bit of the word ‘wide boy’ springs to mind. Good player though. As you say, I’d rather see him roll out the tunnel than Denilson. And I think next summer you will get your wish m’darlin.

  9. rico says:

james, me too – its been a long time since i really sat and watched england play, finally we have two good reasons to view – will be interesting to see whether the older players involve jack as little as they do Theo….

  10. rico says:

I have read some, I think he’s just a fun guy Rocastle, he loves animals so that for me makes him a good guy….

i don’t think he’s a party animal though, thats the main thing 😉

do you think wenger may have a bit of a clear out in the summer? I do…

  11. Rocastle says:

I think he should. From what I’ve heard Eden Hazard is done….rosicky out? Or even AA? (I hope not)

And SS18 could be used as a bargaining tool with PSG for Sakho (yeah, all day long).

But I think we’ll see alot more of Angela Lansbury, and of course Cescs welsh cousin is due back, who I think has the potential to be (whispered) better than Cesc.

Denilson and or Diaby to leave with Vela and SS18. NB52 will, I think get another year to prove.

  12. rico says:

I think a clear out is long overdue too..

    Denilson
    Vela (sadly)
    Almunia
    Squilli
    Rosicky (sadly)
    AA(unless he signs contract)
Nikki possibly as he isn’t happy and he’s not good enough 😉

And a few of the reserves…

  13. rico says:

Plus, we could also get Ryo and Wellington in if they get visa’s…

i too heard the hazard deal is supposed to have been sealed and to be fair, wenger seldom talks so openly about a player so there could be truth in that one..

Def a defender or two should arrive….

  14. Steve Palmer says:

    Morning All,
Football is a strange game at times, it seems only a couple of days ago, Wenger was feilding a weakened team because of tiredness, and the first chance the players have at getting a weeks rest, and they are involved with worthless international duty. Surely its time to say no. Our club has probably played more games than any other team since the holidays, its time we said no to the FA. They fix all these matches up, in my mind they have an agenda, but we should just say no.A freindly at this stage of the season is ludicrous, and is useless for it to help England in any way.

  15. Joaquim Moreira says:

apart: press speaks in the interest of Arsenal in acquiring Pepe (Real Madrid) by 30 millions. It is a good central-back but it seems to me far to many injuries and the versatility of 2-3 years. My suggestion is Rolando (Porto), more agile, tall, fast, good in the air and far cheaper ($ 10 million?). Still left over money to go buy Gameiro (Lorient) and other investments.

  16. rico says:

Hi Steve, thats exactly my thoughts too…..

Hi JM, i read the pepe rumour too, right now i’d say yes in a flash rather than squilli….

  17. James says:

I absolutely abhor international friendlies, mainly because watching England play (friendly or competitive) is an incredibly painful experience because of the total lack of quality on show (until now….welcome Jack!)

Can you believe that the Scumbags have pulled Vidic out of the Serbia friendly to safeguard him for the City match at the weekend. What a joke. If that was Wenger doing that we’d be getting mauled.

Which brings me on to another thing. Vidic and Ferdinand are by far the best CB pairing in the World, and are the reason why ManYoo sit pretty at the mo. But in reserve they haven’t got much more than us to be honest, Chris Smalling is inexperienced and Johnny Evans lacks quality and confidence. Let’s hope they sufer this weekend without Rio eh?

  18. rico says:

Hi James – is he playing no part? I thought it was just half a game or something, either way its wrong, wenger should start doing the same mind you, i think he has with cesc, robin, gibbs, rambo and maybe even JD

  19. allezkev says:

Barcelona director Raul Sanllehi, commenting on Cesc Fabregas [ again ]…”Right now, everything is dead regarding a transfer”.
Well cheers Raul, now you can crawl back under that stone you came out from… Loathsome club , classless bunch of scumbags.
Agree on Lansbury, hope Wenger is true to his word on the lad.

  20. allezkev says:

Concerning Rosicky [ clear-out ], i feel really sad about him as i think we’ve been robbed of some sparkling football from our Czech midfielder. His injuries have simply killed his Arsenal career and he looks a shadow of the player he could have been for us. Still has the technique but his pace has just gone.

  21. T-buzz says:

    Afternoon y’all
James you made a valid point there as per Rio and Vidic being a solid pair in defence. With Rio out and Evans a bit suspect, Red Nose Fergie had to request Vidic pull out of international due bcoz if he gets injured as well, United’s title hope will be in tatters.
I’m just glad that RVP isnt involved in these pointless friendlies and should be up for the game on saturday! 🙂

  22. rico says:

Hi kev, i don’t believe a word from that spanish bunch of toads… its only dead as the window is shut….

  23. rico says:

    Thing is with Cesc…

Torres has just been sold for 50 million and he’s getting on a bit, cesc is yet to reach his peak so he has to be worth at least 100 million, barca can’t and won’t pay that but that should be the price, nothing less….

  24. agirlagunner says:

Boo! rico, I like Lansbury, too. There’s something so positive and game about him. 🙂 He has to be better than Deni…

allezkev, And it’s high time those Catalans shut up about Cesc. Seriously. I’m sure it’s not the last we’ve heard of it though. 🙁

I like how our players have been having these man flu types of indispositions, too TB. 😀

  25. allezkev says:

Ohh agag, you made me jump…. About our lads had a few ‘ Giggs type twinges’, maybe they sense some silverwear…

  26. rico says:

Bit of both really kev but my favourite is veg, today was the awful bit though, digging a weeding ready for planting 🙁

  27. rico says:

Boo to you agag, i really cannot wait until Henri gets his chance – he deserves it. I know many doubt he has what is takes but his progress took a step back when he was ill – i truly hope wenger stands by his comments….

  28. allezkev says:

It’s not really a joy at this time of year, i did a lot last November before the weather closed in, it’s kept it fairly tidy up till now.

  29. agirlagunner says:

😀 allezkev. Barcelona are silly to be even bringing up Arsenal’s valuation of Cesc. As far as I’m concerned, he’s priceless. 😳

  30. allezkev says:

Rico, the goal Henri scored at The Slum, was just like i’d seen him get several times during different loan spells. A late run into the box, nobody picked him up and bingo. We could do with that in the 1st team.

  31. T-buzz says:

Hi there ricodinho, hope the gardening was therapeutic?
I really do hope Henri Lansbury makes it big with the Arsenal, he’s an interesting prospect and not afraid to have a go. I watch a bit of the game he scored and assisted for Norwich a few weeks ago and i was well impressed

  32. allezkev says:

Agag, i make you spot on. But we’ve had all this before, i just wish AFC/Arsene were more aggressive in ‘slapping’ Barca down.

  33. agirlagunner says:

rico, I agree. He’s a very promising talent, and I was endlessly pleased to hear AW mention him as one to be recalled if the situation so warrants. I think that time is “now”, though. I have had enough of Diabolique and Denilson. The former, in particular.

  34. rico says:

kev, that will stay with me for a long while as will his reaction after he scored – he’s a gooner at heart and we don’t have enough of them in our side….

  35. Will says:

    Afternoon guys.

I have been saying for ages that Wenger or the board should compile DVD’s for this purpose.

Imagine sending that last game in and saying

Please explain why Barton wasn’t booked for the tackle on Diaby.
Please explain how Nolan wasn’t sent off for doing worse that Diaby
Please explain what the ref was looking at for the second penalty as it sure wasn’t the action going on.

    Etc etc.

  36. rico says:

T-buzz, don’t know about therapeutic, it was back breaking 😉 But, what was so lovely was a little Robin (not RVP) was not more than a metre away from me, hunting for worms…. ahhhhhhhhhhh

  37. rico says:

I couldn’t agree more agag, i honestly think denilson will go in the summer, Diaby, well i have a horrid feeling about him – i think he is one bad tackle away from his career being finished…

i feel for him to be honest, every time he gets fit he gets crunched again and then out for weeks, he’s not my favourite but i sometimes wonder if all the bits and pieces would come together in his game if he stayed fit and played…

mind you, i cannot forgive him for reacting to that little squirt!!

  38. Steve Palmer says:

I see John Terry has had to cut back his Gambling habit, maybe he’s womanising is dearer than he thought

  39. rico says:

Steve, i can see nikki going in the summer, he’s not happy and has hinted that he will see what is happening at the end of the season…

if he isn’t playing, he could be gone….

  40. rico says:

    Afternoon Will

I think it’s interesting that Coyle has got off his butt and done something but we don’t regardless of the incidents… look at the tackle on Diaby earlier this season, Brum i think, the all the nasty ones on cesc and jack… then, what happened at the weekend…

jeez, we’d need more than one dvd!

  41. Steve Palmer says:

Lets face it rico no one listens to Coyle, but if Wenger says anything like that, he’s bringing the game into disrepute, he pays them enough now. Hi Kev

  42. allezkev says:

Ha ha, SP. Hi Will, the FA/EPL don’t give a toss about us mate. Kick an Arsenal player, they all think it’s a right old larf.

  43. Steve Palmer says:

You could always start it off, with Wenger doing his homework outside the French hotel, send me a copy

  44. allezkev says:

The media love to go on about AFC’s red cards, but i reckon 75% of them are when our players react to earlier fouls that the officials ignore. Complain, and your a whinger.

  45. Steve Palmer says:

Once the goverment starts getting involved with the FA, its best we keep our nose clean, else we’ll never see Miachi or whatever his name is.

  46. Steve Palmer says:

I still have my doubts, but others have taken to what we have, I dont think i have seen anything to convince me yet, how about you Kev

  47. allezkev says:

Well Steve, i do like WS, for someone so young he has ‘that confidence’ you need to be a top goalkeeper. Fab getting injured could, hopefully, be a blessing in disguise. But who would you like the Arse to sign Steve if your not sure about what we’ve got???

  48. rico says:

I’d do it Will, if i knew how….

Re Chesney, i have kept quiet so far but i am not totally convinced he is ready just yet….

  49. Steve Palmer says:

Those guys have not played that well for the first half of the season, Wenger will give them the chance as usual, Knowing our luck they will start getting better, having said that they can’t do a lot worse.

  50. rico says:

I’d keep AA Steve IF he wants to stay but if he hasn’t signed his new contract by midway through the summer window, i would sell him..

  51. allezkev says:

Rico, as you wrote earlier, and i agree, we might see Wenger prune a bit of the dead wood this summer. If our youngsters are any good, he needs to give them a chance. Ramsey has to play, Jack also. If Hazard does arrive he’ll be in the team/squad, so room has to made i reckon.

  52. rico says:

    kev, sounds nice 😉

re the youth, he has to play them or they will leave – and i don’t want to see a few of our leave when we see half hearted performances from players like denislon, squilli, eboue, nikki, diaby, rosicky each week..

nah, its time for AW to back up what he has been using as an excuse not to buy players each window, play them, he may just get a nice surprise….

  53. Steve Palmer says:

I know you like AA rico, but he is not good enough in our team he’s lazy in my mind never chalenges without pulling out and he has trouble finding a pass he usually fluffs his shots and his got a shit celebration ritual just as well i dont see it to often

  54. rico says:

Steve, nah, he’s not my fav, i think he’s lazy… but, he can change a game in a flash and he’s on his way back…

  55. rico says:

fair comment steve, i think he has from now until the summer to show he has it, otherwise i think he’s gone…

  56. allezkev says:

I can’t understand what’s gone wrong with Arshavin, he looked fantastic when he arrived and now he just looks disinterested. He’s got the talent, i’d hate to see him leave and ‘do it’elsewhere.

  57. rico says:

fitness kev, then because of it his game went, with that went confidence….

i think he has now lost a bit of his blubber and ready to put a few good shifts in….

  58. JonJon says:

    hey guys
    great post rico
i want lans to be given a go next season..i dont think it will be this one cos we have rambo coming back soon
    as for the clear out
i think AA and rosicky are goners…AW will bring vela back and add hazard to the squad..
nikki will stay providing he doesnt talk himself into a move..if he does go, jet will be promted..
denilson will leave..song, jack, diaby are all better..rambo, frimpong and lans will come in..we dont need them all and denilson is the obvious choice..150 games..not done enough..
squillacis place is under threat, i think someone like sakho will come in and bartley will be promoted
    almunias a goner…

  59. Steve Palmer says:

Probably beans on toast Kev, Jacks giving a good account of himself i can report, Theo has an assist. Has Gibbsey gone does anyone know

  60. allezkev says:

SP, haha, yeah Jack looked good and ‘shock horror’ England were passing and keeping possession.
Hi JJ, got high hopes of Frimpong, i think he’s back in light training.
What’s that about Gibbo, is it seriuos?

  61. JonJon says:

    hi steve
    gibbs is ok i think
he aint playing hes just withdrawn from squad
jack ran the show got a rest in the second 😉
yeeh kev the frimp was looking good in pre season..hope it hasnt set him back too much..looked like a mini song..ruff tough and ready

  62. allezkev says:

Haven’t seen much of Sakho, but thought he looked good when England played France. You seen much of him Jon? I got to say i was a bit suprised to see Bartley leave Sheff Utd and then join Rangers! Seemed strange to me.

  63. JonJon says:

il admit i hadent heard or seen much of him but ive been watching lille whenever i can..
for 2 reasons mainly..i want to see if they can win the league and i want to see how good hazard is..
(yes they can and he is fucking class 😉 )
my interest in lille has seen my knowledge of other french players develop also and sakho isnt half bad..i also like a lad called mvilla and a lad called sissoko..mvilla and sissoko are midfield battlers..
all are 21 and mvilla has the earned the rep of ‘le enforcer’ due to his style..

bartley puzzled me at first kev..the championship is alot more competitive than the spl but rangers are a massive club in their own right..huge..and they win medals…
when bartley comes back he could come back a winner with nig club experience..

  64. rico says:

Why the heck has Theo played for so long???? Capello may have naffed up for the WC but why try and make ammends tonight??

Hi jj, thanks me old mucker….

Steve, Jack twisted his knee 🙁

  65. JonJon says:

no news yet steve..theos got a gash in his face he picked up in the first half but he played on

    ericsan is tricky

  66. rico says:

Steve, agree re the Erircsoooooon guy, what a wicked free kick he delivered earlier – how did they not get a head on the end??

  67. rico says:

good to see manures new keeper isn’t good enough for the Danes 😉

Oh, and Milner is rubbish, absolutely rubbish… 🙂

  68. rico says:

Hi jj, i am sure, he went in for a tackle and looked in pain, like Steve said though, it looked as if he ran it off – capello should have got him off straight after in my opinion…

i’m not confident that that is the end of aches and pains….

  69. rico says:

great ball from theo for the bent goal…. and great finish by young too – now there is a player i like and he’s a Gooner 🙂

  70. rico says:

    night steve..

    i’m off too, i hate 4am wake ups 🙁 🙁

see you all tommorrow i hope, be good and well, just be good 😉 😉

    night all

  71. allezkev says:

Jon, thanx for info on Ligue Un. Have you seen Gignac, is he any good?
Saw Jack interviewed on TV, he seemed ok, fingers crossed!

  72. rico says:

just saw that to kev, no sign of any prob, phew, phew and a huge phew….

Fat Sam rates Jack, well theres something new, he likes an afc player….

    i’m gone now 🙂

  73. JonJon says:

    dunno about gignac kev..
but i dont reckon he will improve our squad..i think we got the best striker in that league when we got chamakh

  74. allezkev says:

Just chatted to a guy on Young Guns. 87 years old. Remembers Hapgood and Drake. Blew my mind. 87 and on-line, respect to him eh Jon.
