Arsenal move for Lewandowski & Gourcuff? Monreal next to extend his contract….

I love you Feeeooooo....
I love you Feeeooooo….

Morning all.

Great news yesterday as far as I was concerned, as both Theo Walcott and Santi Cazorla penned new deals. No doubt they’ll be questions raised over the reported £140,000 a week salary for Theo, which is up there with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez but there must be a reason Arsenal were prepared to pay him such a salary. Now it’s down to him to prove he’s worth the faith that Arsene Wenger has in him.

I’d imagine Arsenal believe his worst injury fears are over, he’s about to hit his prime years at the age of 26 and he’s English. And English international players don’t come cheap do they…….

Not sure of the length of Santi’s new contract but reports in the back pages suggest it’s for a further year after his current one is due to expire. However Santi has said it’s ‘long-term’. Another season as good as his last and we’ll all be happy.

Just as we will be if Nacho Monreal has another season like his last and he’s next up to sign a new contract. Reports suggest that deal is very close.

So it seems as ‘stuff’ in house is getting sorted out now that pre-season is over, well, apart from a little match tomorrow. Hayden and Toral have already joined new clubs on a season long loan and now Chuba Akpom is set to join Hayden at Hull City which surely has to be the biggest hint yet that Arsene Wenger plans to bring in a striker. One could believe that Hayden departing is a hint he’s going to sign a DM/HM too as he’s been the guy called upon during pre-season. Just need to find a club for Flamini!

I know I’m an old cynic but I still think that our transfers are done later in the summer in order to save on a couple of months wages so as we enter into the final month of this transfer window, hopefully the club will kick into action real soon.

The signing of Petr Cech was different, he’s been a target of Arsene Wenger’s for years and this summer was possibly his last chance to nab his man and if Arsenal hadn’t have acted quickly, he may have ended up elsewhere and had the big guy been about only money, PSG may have been a more attractive prospect. There’s a really good article in The Daily Mail today about how his move to us unfolded.

I especially like Petr Cech’s comments about tomorrows game:

It will be an unknown feeling for me to play against Chelsea. Once I am on the pitch there is no other option — I want to win.

The only concern I have is whether I can win the game for Arsenal. That’s the way it goes and obviously I have a huge connection with Chelsea football club from the 11 years I spent with the club.

But for those 90 minutes or 120 minutes — however long it takes to play the game — there are no friends.

What about your team-mates Petr…..

Wouldn’t it be something special if his performance turns out to be the reason why Arsenal and especially Arsene Wenger, finally get one over that under-tall slime ball!

Lastly, a few words from Mesut who has been talking to the official site about life in London:

London is a different calibre, a city with so many different cultures, and that’s something I’ve never seen before. That gives me the opportunity not just to learn one culture. Wherever I go, you get to meet so many different types of people and that’s something that fascinates me. That’s also why I love living in London. It’s just unparalleled.

It’s a far cry from where Mesut – whose grandparents moved from Turkey to Germany and whose father was a miner – grew up, in industrialised Gelsenkirchen.

Some families in my neighbourhood occasionally went through difficult times and football was the answer for us children. It was an escape for us. You loved playing because it meant you had no problems. You would stand on the pitch and football would be the only thing. It didn’t matter if you were rich or poor or if you were German or Turkish. Football united us and we’d always be in such a good mood afterwards.

Now, however, he’s firmly settled in his new home.

I really like the English culture, and the sense of humour. For example after we won the FA Cup final in 2014, I shouted, ’Ja Gunners, ja!’ into the camera and it’s almost become a cult here. The fans have supported me so well and that’s why I do it. When I post on Instagram, I always use the hashtag #YaGunnersYa. I like that humour.

He certainly looks a happy chappie on the pitch….

Gossip:

Arsenal are hoping to bring free agent Yoann Gourcuff to the Emirates but face competition, according to BeIN Sport.

Robert Lewandowski will not be tempted by a move to Arsenal, according to the Daily Express. It had been reported that the Gunners had made a £35 million bid for the Polish front man – but Bayern have rebuffed that approach.

Go back and offer a bit more Arsene…….

Seriously though, the player has suggested has no intention of leaving Bayern just yet and we have no chance of signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as he’s just extended his contract at Borussia Dortmund .

That’s it for today, have a good one….

    Good one Rico.
    Czech mate!
The offer for Lewendowski should be increased to £40m and £1!! It would prove irresistable!
Back later with more nonsense after going to the Market.

  2. tsgh says:

    Good morning all..

Of to read the daily sermons from Rico. 🙂

Gourchuf? Well with King Diaby gone we need another walking injury case in order to pre-occupy the medical team. 😉

  3. rico says:

Morning Joe, me too, if there’s a curry involved… 😉

Ts, I hope AW doesn’t go anywhere Gourcuff…In fact why on earth would he…

  4. retsub1 says:

Good morning Rico and the House.

Glad that Theo has signed if he stays fit he could have a really good season. I do like players who play with a smile on their face such as Theo and the Ox (or failing that the “I am going to eat you face” Keown, Vieira etc)

  5. Malaga gooner says:

    Morning Rico and all
    Solid post
Hope nacho signs, one of the most improved players imp last season

  6. Joe says:

Agree on Santi Rico, it’s brewed in Kilkenny well worth a taste if you every come across it that’s not just on my word I’d drink anything 🙂
It comes from my darling wife who’s been sprite and mixer or white wine drinker all her drinking life and she loves it.

  7. rico says:

Morning Mg, I think Nacho has always been a great player, just not played enough. Once he got a run in the side it was clear how good he is…

I’ll keep an eye out Joe.. 😉 Enjoy your day…

  8. goonster says:

Gourcuff huh? *sigh* just like diaby a player who never got to hit the dizzy heights everyone expected him to. So sad. Remembered him at Milan. The next zizou they called him. How old is he again? Bummer.

  9. goonster says:

Later rico. Guess am alone there’s no one here beside me. My troubles are all gone there’s no one here to deride meeeeee but you gotta have friends 😀 Eddie Murphy is a class act 😀 Shrek the best animated movie ever 😀

  11. Gerry says:

Hi Retsub1 – I am sorry your plea fell on deaf ears elsewhere 🙁

I think the reported wages Theo has got is a bit of a poisoned chalice for him, because if he fails he will not be able to walk away on a free? And Arsenal will not carry a passenger on those wages either.
Apologies to the host, I am taking early retirement, so I am not going to make a habit of this.
    Cheers.

  12. Malaga gooner says:

    Morning goonie
    The game is on Sunday
I think we will hammer the chavs 3-0
I would to put one over that Portuguese poisonous, gobby, rat faced, motherless fuck

  13. scottfromoz says:

    Morning all.
Reading that Santi and Theo have signed, plus the comments from some of our players, I’d suggest we have the happiest, most United Arsenal squad in a long time.
That cannot possibly be a bad thing, and will go a long way towards making us a force to be reckoned with.

  14. Wath says:

Lewandowski all day long for me as for Gourcuff that’s funny…………..! Morning all.

What plea of Retsubs fell on deaf ears Gerry..?

  15. goonster says:

Howdy wath 😀 still mad at me? Come on buddy you know how I roll. Don’t take me too serious am a goof ball and a bum too 😀 friends??

  16. goonster says:

Morning MG thanks for clearing that up. Some idiot told me the game was live on BT SPORTS today. Sheesh serves me right for listening to a mackem.

  17. Gerry says:

Wath – By elsewhere, I meant not on this site, okay.

No chance with Lewi though … KB on the other hand?

  18. scottfromoz says:

Theo has no excuses now……..and I don’t think he needs any.
For the first home in a long time, I be
I believe he will show his true worth….and consistently.
I’ve never really been a critic, but I’ve certainly been a doubter.
    Not now.
His last few games last season were impeccable.
Let’s see him go on with the job now.

  19. goonster says:

Greet and restub we ll love to have you both here. We are one family here. Honest gooners and all. HH is a family blog. You ll love it here. Am I the in house clown so don’t take much of what I say serious but once it comes to arsenal am a nut. I love this club more than my wife (bless her heart). Once again on behalf of rico I welcome you 😀

  20. goonster says:

Scott this is the year of the OX 😀 so I think it bodes well for theo. He ll have to raise his game to stratospheric levels(is that a word) to keep the OX out of that team. Theo ll smash the league this season. Mark my words. 30 goals a season striker? I think so. Come on theo you beautiful bastard. Start with a hatrick against the scummy chavs. Come on you gunners 😀

  21. scottfromoz says:

Highbury House is the only blog/forum I visit each day.
Tested them all out over a period of time, and this is by far the best.
Rico, that’s another $50.00 you owe me 🙂

  22. retsub1 says:

    Thanks Goonster
Appreciate the welcome and the others I received yesterday. I don’t take anything to seriously, so no worries there.
On the subject of loving Arsenal, the night Michael Thomas scored that goal at Anfield, my son was 2 months old and had slept for about 20 minutes in total (ok I exaggerate a little). So MT scores and I am doing cartwheels around the room. My wife shouts out shhhhhh you will wake the baby. ” wake the baby, this is the greatest moment of my life”. Oops big mistake

  23. goonster says:

He will scotty oz trust me he will. What I like about that cheeky devil is he always shows up in big games. Off the top of my head I think he’s the only current gunner that has scored again all top 4 teams in the league. Maybe liverpool is an exception I don’t remember theo scoring against the mug mashers.

  24. goonster says:

Hahahahah restub I didn’t watch the game was only a whipper snapper then but hey I ll do the same thing too 😀 greatest end of a season in English football don’t let the media rub us off that by saying shitty winning it with the last kick of the ball was the greatest. We all know better 😀

  25. goonster says:

Enjoy restub 😀 God wish I was in the stands. I ll go nuts. Ripping out chairs and throwing them into the kop end. I ll go total ape shit 😀

  26. goonster says:

Boy I love George graham’s confidence leading to the game. Legends all over the place. I think this team should have a stand named after them or so other gesture. They made us proud. The underdog trumping the cards and coming tops.

  27. goonster says:

That was probably the greatest moment in arsenal history. Don’t get me wrong going a whole season unbeaten was awesome but winning the league at liverpool when all hope was lost has got to be the greatest moment in arsenal history. Wow look at them fans go crazy in the stands. Boy I ll give anything to be there. What a night 😀

  28. retsub1 says:

    Thanks Goonster

Great memories. From what you have said about yourself, I think I spotted you in the video. Take a look at the guy behind the goal, when Alan Smith scored the 1st goal

  29. Canadian Gooner says:

Good Morning to The Lady of the House and all fellow Gooners in residence.

    Rico – -Another fine article.

“…Chuba Akpom is set to join Hayden at Hull City which surely has to be the biggest hint yet that Arsene Wenger plans to bring in a striker. One could believe that Hayden departing is a hint he’s going to sign a DM/HM too as he’s been the guy called upon during pre-season. Just need to find a club for Flamini!”

I think you are correct about Chuba and a new striker, especially after Arsene was quoted recently saying that Chuba was staying at Arsenal this season.

As for Hayden, I thought the general consensus in the House was that he was not ready for prime time yet and would need another season or two. However, that and his loan don’t preclude us signing another DM/HM. I hope we do as I believe Le Coq hasn’t fully proven himself yet and he needs competition.

There is absolutely no argument about Flamoney. I don’t care where he plays as long as it NOT at Arsenal. Maybe Kev will offer to drive him for free as that would be in keeping with Mathieu’s normal MO.

  30. goonster says:

Hahahahahaha now I see why that twat Hansen hates us. Hahahahahah poor bugger could only watch as we lift the title on their ground. I ll be haunted for life the toots over win the league on our ground *shivers*

  31. goonster says:

Hahahahahah restub that guy is subtle I ll go nuts. Trust me I ll probably dive into the scum bastards and poke a few in the eye 😀

  32. Canadian Gooner says:

Malaga – Don’t pull your punches. Tell us what you really think about Maureen Yo. LOL

  33. Canadian Gooner says:

Ssssssh! I think everyone has fallen asleep or has nipped out for a pint or to do some shopping.

  34. goonster says:

Tell me about CG what a snooze fest 😀 am watching the fa cup final all over again. Keeps me going 😀 where is ts lecoq was a pass master in that game. He was immense. Limited ability? ? I dint think so. Some may knock him saying it’s against relegation fodder but he did the same against lyon. Some of his passes at the emirates where well song-esque 😀 since that what ts wants him to be. Happy now ginge 😀

  35. Canadian Gooner says:

Stan – I’m sneaking out the back door. The sun is up and it’s time I got some sleep.

    How is the little one?

Have a great day everyone. Keep The Faith!

  36. rico says:

    Come on Notts County!!

    Afternoon all…

Thanks Cg, you sleep well for an hour or two.. Lol

R1, which Gooner blog has shut down…?

    Welcome Gerry…

  37. rico says:

Leicester are discussing personal terms with Charles Aranguiz after agreeing a club-record £10.5m fee with Internacional, according to Sky sources.

    Leicester??? Ts won’t be pleased……

  38. Wath says:

Retsub, that was my mate behind the goal going potty after Smudger scored the 1st…! The local OB were not happy lol… Those were the days..!

Gerry, do you actually think we are paying Theo the 140k that’s been reported though..? I reckon more like 120k..!

Thing is we moan about losing players and not paying the going rate yet when we then do pay decent money fans moan he ain’t worth it. I think when you look at what the others are paying even 140k a week isn’t massive money in today’s market but yes it’s a lot of money for sure and now Theo has to produce on a far more consistent basis as and when injuries allow and lets hope they now behind him.

  39. rico says:

Hi Retsub. That’s a shame re the blog, hope it was just a case of the guy getting fed up with writing rather than anything else…

  40. Wath says:

I’d enjoy earning that kind of money Rico, ask Lee he’s used to it…! Also pocket change for Kev..!

  41. Wath says:

Those times are not far away Rets…. For me it’s the central midfielder we still short of and if we get one we’re bang on the money.

  42. rico says:

    🙂 Wath…

I’m with you there, hm/dm and I’ll be happy, seems Aw is going for scoring more than conceding still..

Did you see Leicester hated got two goodies….?

  43. retsub1 says:

    Rico

I guess there were a number of factors, but suffice to say the guy who ran it did a really good job. I can only imagine the amount of time spent running a blog… I take ny hat off to anyone who manages it.

Wath. I really do think this could be our year. I think a good start is essential, we can’t afford to give Chelsea a start like we did last year. I do like Arteta, but if anything happened to Coquelin I think we would be very exposed.

I think Cech will make a big difference

    COYG

  44. rico says:

I’ve just been reading through the last ‘proper’ post Retsub, I get the closure, shame though but everyone has a breaking point. It’s tough running a blog and writing each day and even more tough when keyboard warriors go off on one. Takes all the pleasure away from just wanting to be out there for Gooners to chat to each other…..

  45. retsub1 says:

    Rico
You and the House have made me very welcome, so I thought it only fair to reveal my sordid past to you
I was at Wembley for the 1968 league cup final against Leeds we lost 1 – 0
I went to Wembley the next season we lost 3 – 1 to Swindon
I had a ticket for the 1970? Inter Cities Final when be beat Anderlecht 4 .- 3 on aggregate
I was at Spurs the night we did the double 1970 – 1971
I was at the cup final when the ball hit Brooking on the head we lost 1 – 0 to West Ham

Problem is I had to go on a school journey the week of the fairs cup final and the night of the double win I was shut out of a full White Hart Lane along with 50,000 others

So despite attending 100″s of games I have never actually seen Arsenal win anything live. Even a couple of Emirates cup competitions. In short I am jinxed

Assuming I am still allowed on the blog I was just wondering if we per chance reach the Champions League final this season I wonder if anyone would be interested in having a whip round to buy me a ticket…… Hmmmm thought not. I promise not to attend

  46. John Lewis says:

Hi Rico, HH is a good place to be. Freedom of speech and all that. And it must take a lot of your time organising and preparing the blog, trying to write something different each time. You do it well Rico.
Looking forward to the match tomorrow. Shame that Alexis is not playing. We will miss his energy, hard work and all round play.
Maureen will be happy to bide his time and try and catch us on the counter. We have to be up and at them from the start. Hope Wenger finally gets a result against Maureen.

  47. potter says:

retsub1 :-We must be of a similar age group , I have all those notches on my bed post the only difference being that I got into all of them , the 1971 one I jumped the gates as the bell rang . so actually got in for free

  48. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Good Evening Lovelies and Hunkies.

That is one solid sermon boss. One which brought the oldies out today…..zimmerframes, GG and all.

I see Goonie was here. grrrrrrr. why didn’t you wait for me loonie mate?

I was out trying to catch some eight legged swimming freaks. Just one was dumb enough to be caught. Its a good 3kilos though. sluurrrrrrrpppppppppp

What did you say Rico??? Gourcuff??? I told ya a week ago.

He will come in to give us more depth alternatives to Flamini and Arteta.

Just heard that AFC have offered Flamini a new job at the Ems. He is to work as an usher and guide around the ground. He shows and points the way to the visitors in the same way he shows it to the others on the pitch.

Gourcuff will take Arteta’s place imo. And he is 29 years old.

  49. rico says:

Seriously JL, thanks for your kind comments, we try our best to keep Hh a friendly place, even when we lose…

I’m looking forward to us finally beating the dwarf!

  50. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Hi and welcome Retsub

I am scratching my head where we should put you in the HH golden oldies team.

We have Wath as Capt. He should guide you gently how to play mate. 😉

Rico is the keeper. A very good one at that seeing that she saves the day for 365 days a year especially during the summer.

  51. retsub1 says:

Sadly I’m an old Gooner(ouch) but still the right side of 60. Just did Potters quiz and found out I am Tony Pullis (double ouch) ?

  52. retsub1 says:

Thanks Devil (if I may be so bold)

Both Rico and Wath have made me very welcome. I will trust them to find me a suitable position. Throughout my distinctly playing career I played centre back. Good defensibly but a little lacking with the ball at my feet.

  53. Marinello says:

Hi Rico, hope you are well.
Another good post and one that has certainly got people reminiscing…
I was at both league cup finals in 68 and 69, Fairs cup final and first part of the double at White Hart Lane. Great memories.
Let’s really hope that the team turn up tomorrow and put on a show to be proud of. A result against Chelsea is long overdue.
    Any predictions…?
JL was me earlier, had a blond moment…

  54. Hell Raising Devil says:

    I got Jose. Yukkkkkkkkkk

That is my name here Retsub. And I like pulling people’s legs. Especially Goonie’s.

CB??? We have Kev and Wath there. Both are 6ft+ giants.

Ahhhhh.hopefully you are not under tall as one of our esteemed members does not take kindly to midgets. lol

    Am I right boss????

So Retsub you have to pass the test first. lol 😉

Good thing Gourcuff is not a midget at least.

  55. Tai says:

    Evening All…

    Good post Rico.

Been quite busy these days. With Akpom gone on loan, AW must have something up his sleeves…or is Campbell staying?

And what is Flamini still doing at the club?

  56. rico says:

Thanks Tai, seems Afc are holding out for a bigger price for Campbell than Palermo are offering. Imo he’ll be a Gooner before September 1st..

  57. Hell Raising Devil says:

Tomorrow’s match will be a tie.

The league games will be a loss at Stamford bridge for us and a draw at the Ems.

AW will finally defeat Jose at the biggest stage of all in May. He will topple from his pedestal with a crash far greater than any dictator has fallen

    Take note Rico.

  58. Micko says:

Not me rico, I often get told I look like a young Charlie Nicholas !

No Gourcuff for me either, the Yeti’s made more appearances than him and Diaby combined.

Really looking forward to tomorrows game, deep down I’d say Canadian Gooner is too !

  59. tsgh says:

no hating on a sicko note Micko… 😉

Joe- i see you survived your outing?

Interesting how Beijing confirmed as hosts for 2022 Winter Olympics – despite having NO SNOW

  60. tsgh says:

Pogba will get found out this season for being overhyped.

Vidal did all the hard work for him.. plus Pirlo making those ingenious passes

  61. potter says:

I would take back Frimpong before Gourcoff , He might have appreciated what he has been missing during his exile.

  62. goonster says:

Dev both games ll be boring draws but we ll just pip the chavs to the title. Afternoon good people. Man alive it’s hot and humid. Never thought I ll say this but bring on the winter please. God help me.

  63. potter says:

Arteta was a class act , we got the end of a true pro’ s career . Unfortunately Everton gave him a number of wasted years.

  64. rico says:

I’m surprised Ts, didn’t you suggest we would break the bank for Vidal last summer and pay him whatever it takes…. 😉

  65. potter says:

Hi Goonie , how’s the nipper? all good I hope. It’s granddaughter’s birthday in 2 weeks . ” years old and bossing everyone about.

  66. rico says:

    Here you go Ts….. 🙂

Submitted on 2014/08/04 at 11:45 am

Vidal is worth £50m imho…. if I was a coach I will pay that much for him…

If Ozil is worth £42m and AS17 is worth £32m…

  67. rico says:

Never Ts, he has a history of injuries, he’s much older and he’s not English. Perhaps that’s why he’s just moved for £20 million ish….

  68. frednerk says:

Well done Nicky so please for you hope your reading later.

Still the best young player I have seen play for the our reserves.

  69. Micko says:

Fred, not right now , there’s a time and place for everything, let tsgh lick his wounds in peace lol !

  70. potter says:

Bendtner and Lupoli really looked like they were something special Fred. Look what happened to both of them.

  71. Micko says:

In fairness tsgh if rico was to check back on most of my comments I’d probably be on my last rites by now !!!

Nite Gooners, time to kick arse and show who’s the pride of London tomorrow.

  72. Wath says:

I reckon we need to stop fuckin about and give those chav cnuts a proper pasting……

We all know they due one… we all know they deserve one and they are so classless they’d just deny it eve happened..!

To be honest do we really wanna win 2moro… we win Wenger buys no one…. so lets get pasted yet grab a lucky draw.. then we aint lost but hopefully Arsene then buys what is needed…? I am sooooo gullible…

    Night all…

Micko….. No sleeping with the golden white frothy cream stuff……….. 😀

  73. allezkev says:

Had a busy 24 hours, seems that I missed an interesting days blogging…

Hi Retsub and Gerry, it’s ok on here fellas.

From a psychological perspective, today’s game is massive imo.

Wenger may not admit it, but in his heart I think he knows the importance of not losing against Mourinho and how a positive result in a competition, so minor, can have such a huge bearing on the rest of this season…

    Night All

  74. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Aloha kakahiaka Lovelies and Hunkies.

    My team for this afternoon…..

    Cech
    Monreal, Per, Gabriel, Gibbs
    Coquelin
    Chamberlain,Ozil,Cazorla, Wilshere
    Theo

Subs to come on….Aaron, Ollie, Bellerin

Alternatively HH should go for this line up

    Le Boss
    Micko, Wath, Kev, Adam
    Goonie
    Dev, Lee, Potter, Fred
    Digger.

    Have a good day everyone.

I am off to the sea early…….time to hunt for dinner.

  75. retsub1 says:

    Thanks Allezkev
Nice to catch up with you again. I agree we mustn’t let Mourinho get the better of us today.

I think we sre better placed than we have been for a long time to beat them. Theo could well be the key man. Nothing I would like to see better than him running rings around that creep Terry

  76. Lee says:

I agree beat the chavs today and lose the “not beaten the vertically challenged one” monkey off our backs, then beat the fuckers twice in the league!!! COYRRG’s

  77. allezkev says:

    Morning All

    Morning Rico.

    Morning Retsub, same here mate…
I shared your memories the other day.
    I did 68, 69, missed 70, did 71 my first win and missed 72…

Today feels like a seminal moment in time as far as the Wenger vs Mourinho saga is concerned…

I don’t have those feelings of dread that usually have prior to this fixture…

Not sure if that’s good or bad tbh…

If I’m honest, I feeling I most have this morning is a feeling of being hungover… 🙄

  78. tsgh says:

lol Fred/Potter… Lupoli and B-52 were sensational at youth level.

Bendtner’s contribution to Birmingham for promotion was astounding too…

Micko I can trust you to kick a man whilst he is down. 😉

    Come on gooners.

Wath- Kramer is back to Leverkusen. It looks like he is staying with Aranguiz opting for Ranieri…

Morning Rico, Wath, Dev and all…

Wenger suggests the media are obsessed with Mourinho: “I’ll leave your love story with him to continue without interfering.

Aw must be a politician; he categorically stated Akpom wont be loaned but he has now…

On this day in 2003, Arsenal signed Johan Djourou on a free transfer from Étoile Carouge.

On this day in 2004, Arsenal signed Arturo Lupoli from Parma in a £200k deal.

  81. frednerk says:

    Morning All,
Lupoli in my opinion had most of his goals
put on a plate for him by nicky.
I watched a lot games at barnet at the time
If I was ever to bet on a young player to make the
big time it would have been Bendtner.
I had a chat with him after a game and he thought
he was as good as Dennis..
so thats what happened to him,and thats what
happens to a lot of young players,
You keep telling them how good they are
and a lot/most think thats it.
Bendtner even thought he was the cats whiskers
with the ladys..Didn’t he try to marry a
    princess.
    Anyway………..pleased for him last night,
not done that bad ..has he.

Looking forward to wiping the smirk off
    that little prick to day.
Good balance to the squad for once.

  82. Lee says:

Kev what was your tipple last night?
    Brudder….
A fit 26yr old Eduardo would score a few goals for this team…..

  83. rico says:

    Morning Adam and Fred…

Pleased for Nikki B, about time he earned his money… lol

Charlie Austin would score a few goals in this team… 🙂

  84. tsgh says:

Sad to read Bacca has decided to stay with Seville. I guess with UCL football for them due to winning the UEFA cup there is less incentive for him to move…

  85. tsgh says:

Flipping heck. That is why no team have been able to poach Carlos Bacca. With his 30m euro’s buy out clause and 90k weekly salary only an oiler can afford to give him more…

  86. allezkev says:

Lee, it wasn’t Peroni mate, otherwise I would be feeling like sh*te…

    It was Becks mate…
Only 4% proof as opposed to Peronis 7%, that’s if I’ve got that right…

Erdinger is very nice if you get the chance to try it.
And some of these Czech beers are ok…

But today, I am mostly on the water and tea.
    🙂

  87. allezkev says:

Eduardo is a great call Lee…

What with Diaby and almost Ramsey, the hatchet men of the EPL have a lot to answer for….

  88. frednerk says:

Ts these agents now adays know how to tie up a deals for players
first the valuation of the player,
then if you say his worth that for anther team to buy,
then you must pay what you think his worth then
thats another 10/20 % for the agent.

  89. retsub1 says:

Good morning Rico and the House

Big day for the boys today. I am sure Cech will be up for it today, will be interesting to see how Terry and co treat him at corners.

Happy birthday Kanu, what chance a hat trick for one of our players today?

  90. allezkev says:

Morning Adam, are you telling me that you have deserted the Bleacher Report for the Metro.

I find that hard to believe…
