Arsenal in for Dutch International? Bellerin signs on & Alexis injury concerns…

Morning all.

All the back pages have a story about young Hector Bellerin. He’s signed a contract extension according to them and it’s a long one. A good one too apparently as he’s been given a whopping pay rise. According to The Mirror, his deal is worth in excess of £100,000-a-week which will net him more than £30m with bonuses and add-ons.

I do wonder where they, and other news/sports outlets get their information from as I doubt anyone at Arsenal has confirmed such a deal. In fact the official website hasn’t even confirmed a deal has been done yet but with Barcelona and Man City sniffing around, it’s important for Arsenal to tie him down to a new deal and fingers crossed that on this occasion, The Mirror and co are right.

As said yesterday, Sanchez and Ozil will hopefully follow suit very soon.

Alexis Sanchez has suffered an injury whilst away with Chile. Officials from the Chilean FA confirmed in a statement that he had suffered a “low-grade muscular injury”.

The Medical Corps of the Chilean national team informs the player Alexis Sanchez has a low-grade muscle injury.

The athlete will stay in Santiago, under treatment and evaluation to the meeting of Chile to Uruguay.

You just know that if there’s any small chance he could play in their second match he will. They won’t consider his clubs needs as all they’ll be interested in is winning their WC qualifiers. I’m not sure why he’s staying with Chile though. He’s injured, so let him return to Arsenal for treatment, after all, we pay his wages, not Chile.

Alexis really believes we can win something big this season:

I think we’re even more determined to achieve something and win the Premier League, but you have to take it slow, he told Arsenal Player. We have a great team, our ambitions are high and we want to win the league.

We’ve got some new players and a fantastic squad. Regardless of who’s playing, we all need to be 100 percent focused on our work with the team and the club.

All I can say is that unless we up our tempo in matches, our chances of winning the league will be slim, just as they will be if he’s out injured for a long time as right now we have just him and Giroud fit to play up front. There’s always Sanogo I guess….!

A move for 24 year old Dutch centre-back Stefan de Vrij is being lined up according to reports in Italy. His contract at Lazio runs until 2019 and the Italian club are trying to extend it but if they can’t the player could be heading to either Arsenal or Chelsea.

It’s only November but the transfer window opens in just 52 days time………

    Thanks Rico

    Agree….up the tempo !
I read a bit from Daniel Sturridge, he said that they do double shifts in training and less 5 a side !………….that`s why they can play high tempo and also obviously having no other distractions helps.
I can sort of verify all this double training stuff as being a member of a running club one of the golden rules is if you want to get quicker times, you have to do the speed sessions !……………….basically it`s all about the hard work, you wont high press by being stuck on an i-phone or playing Grand Theft Auto !

  2. Marshall says:

The league won’t be won by the type of game we played in the last 2-3 matches. We can say Leicester was a fluke but with the tempo that they approached every game, is the same the scouscer scums are plaing and that is how you win the premier league. Not sit on your laurels and ride out easy- sometimes lucky wins.

  3. Marshall says:

I read somewhere Sanogo wasn’t/isn’t given lots of chances but we have arsenal U23s and even there he doesn’t get picked. Maybe the trainers at arsenal know he’s already a lost cause.

  4. Le Coq Monster says:

Could you imagine what the love child of Trump and Kroenke`s syrups would look like !
Is it a coincidence that we have not won a title since Kroenke has been major shareholder……..not if you look at his other sporting clubs, had Usmanov took all the shares instead we`d be looking at a different Arsenal now……..one of competitiveness, one of more titles of that I`m convinced !.
If Kroenke had spent as much on Arsenal as on his property portfolio then it may have been a different story !.

    Kroenke Out !
    Kelsey In !

    😀

  5. Le Coq Monster says:

If Alexis rumour is true………….6 weeks out !…………….then I would like this international break to last the same time……….six weeks `till we play Manshafter please !. 🙂

    Save me from transfer speculation…

Do we really need another centre-back anyway?
What would signing a 24 year old centre-back do to Holding?!
Personally I’m sick to death of transfer windows and all the lies.
No doubt January will ply us with the usual endless crap… ?

    Morning All

Morning Rico, 537 for 9, a great bit of news to start the day… ?

    All out for 537… ?

    Asari 32, that’s a good start to his career…
Now go and get 6 wickets…

Three centurions, when was the last time we did that in India…?

  8. rico says:

    Morning Kev, Marshall and all..

Yes Kev, great stuff in India, now for a top bowling display and get the test won…

International fixtures kick off tonight so expect more injuries… 🙁

  9. Marshall says:

Lol Kev I can’t help it. Injuries are hitting us already while they are in training! I hope those who play come out unscathed. Its fantastic how Germany treat Ozil…if only Chile…

  10. Wavy says:

On a similar theme but a completely different tack, I see the vertically challenged one who is full of manure is now claiming that his players poor form and, too frequent injuries are due to the inadequacy of the medical staff! Haven’t we been here before? He seems to be behaving in exactly the same way as was a year ago. Does he want. To construct the same outcome? Vis. He wants the sack! I feel the Bobby Charlton side of the Boardroom table are saying , “we told you so”. Once a classless dick, always a classless dick!
November19th will be an interesting encounter. I wonder at what point he will turn his sly forked tongue in the direction of our esteemed manager? I should think his first swipe will be this weekend. That is, if he is still in a job! His days are numbered I reckon.

The news about Bellerin and Alexis is not good but we have Jenks and the Ox as first replacements. It could be worse. Last year it would have been a disaster. If you think back to the 8-2 defeat, the team that started that match was full of not very good or experienced ‘squad’ players. Didn’t Jenks make his debut that day as an 18 year old?

All will be revealed in the fullness of time.

    Morning all

  11. Le Coq Monster says:

Another poxy bad rumour that Bellerin has done his ankle ligaments and is out for at least November !………………November !……beginning to hate that name, needs changing to something like…………..Nofcukinglucker !. 🙁

  12. Rick says:

    Evening Rico and the House.
Rico some of out youngster have /are playing for England today
Moore and Niles played in the 2-1 defeat by S Korea.
Mavididi has given the U 19 team a 1-0 H/Y lead against Luxenburgh.
    He is looking very good,

  13. allezkev says:

I’ve got this horrible feeling that we’ll be going into the game at Old Bog without Alexis and Bellerin, or Santi…

If you offered me a draw now, I’d bite your hand off, because you just know that the Portugse Prick will pull something out of the hat against Wenger, he always does the stinking cnut….

  14. allezkev says:

It seems that Smalling and Bellerin are certain to miss the game at ManUre…

Well, we keep on saying how much stronger our squad is this season, now is the time to prove it…

Jenkinson at right-back, Giroud up front, could be a good combination is Jenks can get some of his excellent crosses into the box for Le Quiff to glance home with his handsome bonce…

No more injuries please, is all I ask… ?

  15. Wavy says:

Sheik Giroud will pull himself off for us. No fear Kev. It will be right on the night. The dwarf has lost it, believe me!
Unusually Arsenal have a better, deeper squad than the manure fiddlers, and we will prevail.

Post script….it’s the drink talking, after a night out!

    But believe me!

    Morning all

I wouldn’t put it past him as per usual we are not that proactive in tieing players down.let’s hope I am wrong.I think there would be murders if this happened.
    ———————————————————————-

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been linked with a shock move for Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil, as the German midfielder’s talks over his new contract with the Gunners continues to stall.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted his club are struggling to match Ozil’s huge financial demands, as he looks to extend a contract that expires in the summer of 2018.

Those comments have alerted Mourinho to the prospect of signing the German World Cup winner he had under his command during his time in charge at Real Madrid.

While Arsenal are confident of tying Ozil down to a new contract, Wenger appreciates he needs to find an agreement with the German’s advisers before the end of this season.

“We still have a scale of wages. It has become a bit more individual than when I arrived 20 years ago because every case is a bit special. But don’t worry, they are all paid well,” states Wenger, as his club try to tie down Ozil and Chilean international Alexis Sanchez to new contracts.

  17. Adam says:

Morning Rico and all. There’s seldom much good news around Arsenal these days it seems. Injuries, contracts, rumours etc. Football is eating itself.

  18. kelsey says:

I can Rico.Money talks all languages. We have been negotiating with him for months.I see the same pattern repeating itself everytime even though we can now afford to pay him a massive wage.

  19. Adam says:

Rico. Think that Arsenal hold a unique place where this sort of thing is concerned. We are coming towards the end of a cycle, though when that will be complete, who knows? Then there is the feeling that we have been here before. Personally I don’t really care if Ozil and Sanchez leave. They will be replaced, as will Wenger. The wheel turns, millions go into the player’s pockets and yet we still have those nagging inconsistencies.

  20. rico says:

But surely he can see what is unfolding at Utd Kelsey and who’d want to play for that pygmy these days, especially as he’s been slating a few players publicly…

  21. rico says:

Adam, I’m sure you’re right but then why come to Arsenal in the first place as it’s public knowledge that we as a club don’t pay the highest wages…

  22. Marshall says:

I really hope Santi is back for our next match. We need a ‘baller’ in the midfield. Jenks and Giroud can cover the Bellerin and Sanchez spots. I got a feeling Arsene will play Ramsey on the wing – on for Iwobi.

  23. Adam says:

Rico. I think Ozil came because he wasn’t wanted at RM and had respect for Wenger. Alexis too. Over the past couple of years wages have really escalated to the point that a lot of top players are just chasing the money. Whether they feel anything for the club is doubtful. I am sure Man Utd would pay Ozil £1 million a month, at least. Alexis too could move somewhere like Juventus and get more money plus of course all the under-the-table bungs that Italy has always been renowned for. Where the actual football fits into all this I am not sure these days which is why I admire what Klopp is doing at Liverpool though I can see the bigger clubs wanting a few of his players soon.

  24. Marshall says:

Ozil and Mourinho have a good relationship. But I don’t see us selling… We are no longer a selling club and Ozil really likes arsenal. He could have gone anywhere but he chose us. I hope our tight board can reward him according to his actual worth.

Players do come and go, but Id really like it if Ozil and Sanchez stayed on with us as long as they can.

  25. rico says:

Adam, if that really is the case and all the pair think about is the money, then yes, just go, because our club needs players who want to be at Arsenal because it’s Arsenal. Like Bellerin who could quite easily have opted for a move to Barca or City to double what we are paying him…

I still hope, and think, at least one, if not both will stay….

  26. allezkev says:

    Morning All

Morning Rico and Adam, I agree with Adam, make Sanchez and Ozil a good offer and if it’s not enough, then sell them…

Frankly I’m weary of this agent inspired charade, surrounding wages.
The Portugese Prick is just trying it on prior to our game, it’s obvious, and Ozils agent is probably in on the act. Maybe we aren’t willing to pay the agent what he thinks he’s worth for just answering the phone…
The £24 million paid to the agent of Paul Pogba has set the bar at a new level and all the other greedy agents around the world, want a piece of the action.

    It’s all so boring…
