Arsenal in Bressan talks? Ozil so unlike Podolski & Giroud leaks details on transfer target….

Morning all.

Finally, the World Cup kicks off tonight with the hosts Brazil, taking on Croatia.

Whilst Lukas Podolski is thinking his German side have a tough group in the World Cup, Mesut Ozil sees it all a bit differently:

Wherever we go, I think opponents are reluctant to play us because we are very strong. If you look at the German team over the last couple of years, you can see that we have continuously played excellent football.

In the past, the national team was seen as being strong and now the whole world knows that we belong among the most technically-gifted sides in the world.

That we always qualify early shows the quality we have in the team and shows that we have a great manager in our ranks who has strengthened the team and has developed something new.

Mesut Ozil believes the fear factor in other sides is all down to manager Joachim Low and he truly believes that this could be their year and it’s about time too as Germany haven’t won a World Cup for 24 years…. lol

Talking about his manager, Mesut said:

He’s introduced a totally new German national team – one that is really respected all over the world.

Joachim Low is one of the best in the world and we’re happy to have him around the team. I hope he will finally be rewarded because in the past we’ve lost in the semi-finals or final and to lose when you are so close is always sad.

I hope that he can hold the World Cup in his hands and say ‘we’ve won this as a team’ because he really deserves that.

I too think Germany will be a very strong side, full of talented and determined players.

Talking of needing that kind of player, Olivier Giroud has said that a striker will be signed this summer:

I can tell you Arsenal will add a striker to the team.

We need another striker. Great clubs have several good strikers, who compete with each other.

Even if Carlos Vela returns, we still need another striker as Sanogo has a lot to learn.

Transfer Gossip:

According to The Metro – Arsenal have begun talks with Gremio over Brazilian defender Bressan.

Porto striker Jackson Martinez will hold transfer talks with Arsenal and many other clubs this week ahead of a potential £30million summer move.

Martinez’s representatives have confirmed that they will spend this week in deep discussions with a number of clubs over their client who is almost certain to leave Portugal.

That’s according to the players Agent so I strongly suspect it’s all hogwash….

Finally, According to the Telegraph, Arsene Wenger has flown out to Brazil to cast an eye over a list of potential strikers – in particular Bayern’s Mario Mandzukic…..

That’s your lot for another day….

One each for Lee & Bt62 Gooner... :)
One each for Lee & Bt62 Gooner… 🙂

    Thanks snaparse…

Morning Bt – must say I’m quite looking forward to tonights game too, that’s if I can manage to stay awake… lol

  3. Sukky says:

I think Vela will be a very good addition. He is pacy,he can score goals and he can set up.I think he will give up different approach.Mario manduzkic is not any better than Giroud,I will continue to say that.

  4. Wavy says:

Wenger’s opening gambit when ‘tapping up’ a would be Arsenal recruit during the World Cup will be, “will you be available on August 31st?” If the answer is yes he’ll think about it, if no, he won’t!
No signings there then! He’s only going to see if he can find another Gilberto! Bet he can’t!

Morning all and a happy Thursday to all HHs.

  5. Sukky says:

Brazil have been producing good defender this days?Apart for Silva and marcelo, others are shit.David luiz is the most overrated player in football, dante is very average and so is Alex.

  6. rico says:

Sukky, I don’t want us to sign Mandzukic either..

Wavy, you become more and more cynical every day. Can’t think why… lol

  7. Bt62 Gooner says:

Lee, that’s what i’ve put in the prediction competition, we’re running. Lee hope you’re not a scud! lol

  8. Bt62 Gooner says:

Sukky, i think your being generous on Dante, Mandzukic god no, Rico who is this defender named Santos you speak of? lol

  9. Wavy says:

Cynical, moi? No,no it’s just a sadness born from experience and disappointment! Just watch my attitude change when we buy a ‘player’, sorry if we buy a ‘player’.
Bet fred have us at evens to buy the non existent Umbongo, and all the rest is history!…..again!

  10. tsgh says:

    Mandzukic is suspended…

Lovern has asked to be sold… I prefer him to Bresman..

Good read Rico and morning all btw…

  11. snaparse says:

sukky luiz might be overrated but he is still a good ball playing defender funny people always rate hummels but IMO he isn’t really better than luiz

  12. snaparse says:

hi bt I’m going for Croatia as I love their midfield 3 my favourite is modric but I really rate kovavic too

  13. snaparse says:

don’t know if it’s because he plays for shaktar Donetsk but I think srna is really an underrated player IMO

  14. tsgh says:

Ah Snap, similar minds mate…re Kovavic; but I have Fred on as first scorer of tournament…

    Lovren* of Southampon I meant…

  15. Scott From Oz says:

    Hi guys.
The World Cup may actually take a little focus away from the silly season this year.
I think Germany will be winning it…they just have too much talent not to go very close.
It’ll be good to see the 173 players we are allegedly in negotiations with playing at the top level, as well 🙂

  16. tsgh says:

    Oh I see Rico…

Very true Scott re transfer market; I would want Germany to win it however, I want Belgium and Chile to do well too…

  17. vernat1066 says:

So we will not see any players signed until after the group stages of the World cup then but

    De Chelonian Mobile

  18. Lee says:

Yeah best if we wait until then….I suppose it’ll be handed over at the next Highbury House Curry! Will taste even sweeter………

  19. Wath says:

Of course the bubble counts… You didn’t say a signing of “X” amount did you… Typical Chelmsford Charlie……. 😉

Sorry Bt, Rico getting ganged up on had to remind her and plus she going a bit senile she already forgotten she gonna slap me twice…!

  20. Wath says:

He def counts… you didn’t specify specific signing requirements plus I do believe another 6/7 signed as well over those 2/3 days..!

    Rico wins…………

Just bad losers thats your problem…!

  21. Scott From Oz says:

    Hahaha.
Rico, they surely only count as a signing if they are old enough to grow a beard 🙂

  22. snaparse says:

bt I hope Croatia wins but I think they will mid Mario but I guess Eduardo might just step in or jelavic???anyways if their midfield tick they will be strong enough to see off brazil

  23. Wath says:

Lee is walking round his office calling everyone a c**t now….. !
Also expressing that very same word in my direction….

  24. snaparse says:

ts I love rakitic its a pity he went to Barcelona as he is very much a counter attacking kinda midfielder but…

  25. snaparse says:

It’ll be good to see the 173 players we are
allegedly in negotiations with playing at the top
    level, as well……..lol

  26. Bt62 Gooner says:

Snap, i hope your positivity is rewarded, in the future but not tonight.I would like to start the finals with a correct score.

  27. Scott From Oz says:

The Aussies gave Croatia a real match the other day, so I don’t think they will get near Brazil.
Rico, true, and the lad is Greek 🙂

  28. Scott From Oz says:

    BT, sure is.
We all know our boys are no chance, but the country is behind them because we have sent over a young squad that will give their all, and that’s all we can ask.
Also, because Oz is a mini United Nations, nearly everyone here has a “home” country to support, as well as Australia.
The best thing has been our boys making the finals 3 times running, as it’s created more interest knowing we aren’t fluking it.

  29. Scott From Oz says:

Why the hell would Chelski sell Cech?
Jose has lost it, if the arsehole ever had it lol

  30. allezkev says:

That Brazillian defender Bressan, sounds an interesting prospect.

I understand that not only does he bowl dangerous reverse swing, but that he is also second to none as a Nightwatchman…

  31. allezkev says:

    Where’s Wavy?

Wavy, very pleased to read that you use the finest taxi service in the world… 😉

Are we any closer to signing Jackson Martinez???
As I am gripped by that rumour. zzzzzzzzzzz

  32. allezkev says:

I notice that there has been a bit of a fuss being made by certain rumour sites via NewsNow, concerning Wenger ‘jetting off to Brazil, to watch transfer targets’….

Hogwash, he was going there anyway as most of us knew already….
And he certainly isn’t, and never has, made a decision to buy a player on the strength of a WC or Euros.
Typical BS and crappola on those parasitic sites.
Inventing rumours out of thin air and lifting stories from other news outlets.
Bunch of wankers, the lot of ’em….

  33. rico says:

Scott, because of that other guy Coutious or whatever he’s called, he will only return to Chelsea if he’s number 1…

According to the papers anyway.. lol

Peroni gives me a bad head Kev but I like it, very much…..

  34. rico says:

Arsenal are set to pounce for Barcelona star Victor Valdes after Manchester City pulled out of talks.

Valdes is out of contract at the Nou Camp at the end of this month and it was thought Manchester City were keen to bring in the shot stopper as competition for England number one Joe Hart.

However, after the Premier League champions pulled out of talks, thought to be over Valdes’ concerns over guaranteed first team action, Arsenal could be set to capitalise.

Arsene Wenger is keen to bring the keeper to London and with no transfer fee, is hopeful of matching Valdes’ substantial wage demands.

    Some random newspaper report…

  35. Scott From Oz says:

Rico, I’d take Cech in a heartbeat.
BT games start from 2am onwards……nothing is easy for we Aussies 🙂

  36. rico says:

Me too Scott but I doubt they’d sell to us…

Just read that too Bt, if only the Star printed truth eh….

  37. Wavy says:

    From BBC sportsday:

Blatter needs to go – Platini
    Posted at 14:23
Uefa president Michel Platini says he has withdrawn his support to Fifa president Sepp Blatter.
Blatter, 78, indicated he wants to seek a fifth term and called Uefa “disrespectful” following calls for his resignation. He has been widely criticised over the damage corruption allegations have caused football’s governing body.
“I am supporting him no longer, it’s finished,” says Platini. “He knows it, I told him. I think Fifa needs a new breath of fresh air.”

Next World Cup will involve the rest of the world but not Europe. I can see UDI on the horizon, sooner rather than later.

Now if we are looking for a good example of a “nob” look no further than the duplicitous, greedy, unreliable, lying, cheating, arrogant, mindless FIFA president, I give you Blatter on a platter (Salome style) sorry his qualities are all alleged!
What an arsehole he is, to be sure!

AK I like a bit of Black Cab, my chosen way of transport around the metropolis, quick easy and efficient, traffic jams permitting!

  38. southyorkshiregunner says:

    Sad, but there you go.

Fabregas wasn’t wanted. He obviously pissed Wenger off.

  39. tomstoned says:

well another day in circus wenger…one thing is clear we wanted to make that little extra cash on cesc,….i thought things had changed but its pretty clear to me that we’re still just a money making machine..with that greasaball gazidis and kronkers leading the ship to disaster…vela back what !!!!!!…and to be fair im divided when it comes to cesc but he is far better than any midfielder we have,,,feck..we’re like the new disneyland nothing real all just make believe..

  40. Wavy says:

I wonder if Wenger will spill the beans? I bet the loyal old chap won’t , well not yet. We’ll await for. Moronicoo to dish the dirt, because that is absolutely guaranteed, in his dwarf like way, trying to expose Le Chef for being a failure in transfers!

  41. potter says:

    Cesc confirmed .

It may be a move to start or stop the super league. Certainly the super clubs will see more ways to make money playing each other rather than trips to the lower clubs with smaller stadiums. However getting out of FIFA might be a way of UEFA keeping control.

  42. Gunnerdna says:

Worst fucking day of my life….Shit like this should never happen when players like Diaby, MF & MA08 is in the squad. If CFC wins the PL i might have to take a brake from football.

  43. rico says:

    Oh well, that’s it then…

Must mean AW has something up his sleeve, or at least he better had eh, otherwise a lot of Arsenal fans are going to be mighty cheesed off….

  44. tomstoned says:

well no doubt cesc is a hot potato amongst Gooners but who can say that he wouldnt improve us..im just gutted and vela what the feck !!…its quite simple to me…i want wenger that greaseball gazidis and kronk out of The Arsenal…now !!!!

  45. tomstoned says:

Rico c’mon wenger up his sleave ?? well must be vela then right…right now i hate football…good thing there is the world cup…so i dont have to think to much about that blo’dy misery called Arsenal

  46. Gunnerdna says:

Rico, leopard never changes their spots. AW and change is a dream. My hate for him is stronger, i’m fucking hurt seeing 1 of my favorite afc player get rejected and Diaby is still getting paid to do nothing.

  47. tsgh says:

‘I can’t see myself playing for any other club apart from Barcelona & Arsenal’ -April 2011.

    Once a snake always a snake…

  48. Gunnerdna says:

‘I can’t see myself playing for any other club apart from Barcelona & Arsenal’ -April 2011.

    Once a snake always a snake…

Should he end his career because he gets rejected by two clubs he love? That’s a stupid comment…

  49. potter says:

Bit unfair That , He probably would have come back to us but when he is pushed out of the door at Barca and we slam ours in his face :- What is he supposed to do ?

  50. Gunnerdna says:

Ts, Cesc going to CFC is 1 more nail in AW coffin for me. I’m not 1 of the fan who grade AW because of not spending the club money and sit and wait for him to perform miracle.

  51. Gunnerdna says:

“I do feel that I have unfinished business in the Premier League and now is the right time for me to return,” he said on his Facebook page. “Yes, everyone knows that Arsenal had the first option to sign me. They decided not to take this option and therefore it wasn’t meant to be. I wish them well in the future.”

    GOD WHY???

  52. ktr7 says:

Afternoon all…am not even upset at fabregas moving to chelsea.in fact i don’t give a shit.Loyalty died a long time ago.he’ll be good for them though that is no doubt.

Ozil said he has the trust of Wenger…he better pay it back now.he has to tear it up next season or i can see a lot of discontent among gooners. This is his and team now.

I hope wenger has something massive planned or else if the PL starts with no massive reinforcements the atmosphere at the Grove will be even worse than against villa at the beginning of last season.

  53. rico says:

Tom/Gdna – I’m not going to get all bitter and twisted just yet, what’s the point?

No-one knows what Arsenal have planned….

  54. rico says:

Ts – he clearly wanted to come back to Arsenal but we didn’t want him, neither did Barcelona. It is suggested that his girlfriend wants to live in London so what’s Cesc supposed to do, sign for West Ham or Qpr…

    I know I wouldn’t….

  55. rico says:

Gdna I don’t give a toot personally, I don’t care who Chelsea sign and all I care about is who Arsenal sign.

  56. tsgh says:

True Potter, you have a point…

I am not defending anyone but merely looking at it from what has been in the media since last summer…

Cesc knew we wanted him last summer; You don’t have to believe me, but we can all look at it objectively and see that he was the reason why we missed out on so many signings last summer whilst he was flirting with a move to Yanited.

it is well known that the only reason why he did not join Yanited last summer was because he wanted to see how Moyes will fare… he knew he was never going to come back to Arsenal at least with IG and Stan around…

In my view, one player we are write not to go for him because he has always used us as his plan B…

He won nothing for us when he was with us… I can understand why folks like Syg may blame the likes of Eboue, Denilson around Cesc at that time but this goes to show one person does not make a team.

In my view, Cesc is no god and I am never going to allow his marriage to Jose to make me depressed…

Is it surprising that Nasri, PV, VP all talk highly of Aw and blame the board for the issue at Arsenal?

  57. potter says:

He did to Barca what he did to us , at least Darren Dein has. By stating that he would only go to London it left us , Chelsea or Tottenham as his only real choices. We said no, Spurs were a non runner so it left Chelsea and no auction to push the price up. As such we dipped out on the profit clause and as because Barca did not win La Liga we dipped out on the bonus payments too.

What have we got up our sleeves ? not a lot I would think. Atmosphere at the bowl ? don’t think poisonous will sum it up , not in the long term and newbie supporters . Those that just turn up to text photos of being there won’t give a toss.

  58. tsgh says:

Lets see if cesc will be the same Cesc of 2007… with Jose’s tactics…

With Hazard moving back to Psg soon and all…

I am with Rico, no point in getting twisted; as Kt said loyalty is dead unfortunately we fans are the last to get up with the game… 😉

  59. rico says:

It’s simple Gdna, I have my own opinion and view, if you want to get all stressed and pissy just because AW didn’t re-sign Fabregas then crack on, but just don’t expect everyone to be the same..

I’m quite optimistic about this summer and until it’s over, I’ll stay that way….

  60. tsgh says:

    Exactly Potter..

Regular folks on £30k a year are able to have good marriages working up north whilst their other halves live down south… with his salary distance is a big lie…

He took a pay cut to join Barca and even paid 800k of his own money to facilitate the move, he won titles he wanted…

Now he is approaching his twilight and wants a final pay check…

I respect IG for ince… the club has pride; and agree not to sell its soul to a player who for 3 years always got injured in February to March when he was needed… imo of course

  61. tomstoned says:

regarding not only cesc but rvp clichy sagna nasri and so many others… whats the common theme ??…its not rocket sience now is it…everyone is more or less saying the same thing..lack of ambition..me i honestly think that none of those players would have left had the kronk sh’t and that ly’ng son of a (bad word)gazidis had any ambition at all..wenger well he is just passed it and have been since he let kronk hold him for ransome back in 07..

  62. Wavy says:

Not wishing to be to sour or whatever but, I do hope Cesc has a successful and injury free WC!
    Or not!

  63. rico says:

I can’t see any side beating Germany myself Kt… Haven’t seen any Chile matches pre WC…

I really hope England win it but just don’t think they have a cat in hells chance…

  64. rico says:

Wavy, what’s the old saying when wishing someone good luck?

    Something about a leg I think… 😉

  65. Gunnerdna says:

Rico, everybody got their favorite and i wasn’t trying to change your opinion or view, as fans we all wanted a better team which Cesc would certainly help achieving, i’m different because most fans prefer quantity over quality. Bony, Remy, Vela and players such alike is of less value to the squad than Fabregas.

  66. tomstoned says:

Brazil all the way Rico..good team and dont disregard the advantage of playing the WC on home turf(history will tell you Rico itd a big big advantage)…how Brazil can let millions of people starve just host the WC is another matter..not accepted in my book

  67. tsgh says:

I posted the clauses in Cesc’s deal last week… from what is in teh media from Spanish sites

I understand why we had not paid barca £35M; when they had only paid us £27m thus far?

Even if we had exercised our option, chelsea still had the right to outbid us and then we had to match the bid… we were never going to pay the £150k plus that Marina and Roman are offering…

What goes around comes around imo.. when Jose is sacked next summer and a new coach takes over Cesc will be playing for Deportivo in 2 years time when Seaman has had enough and fleeecing him anyway… lol

  68. rico says:

If Chelsea sell Hazard to Psg and have signed Fabregas to replace him, I’d actually say that weakens them… lol

Ok, Costa instead of Eto’o is a little bit of an improvement… 😉

  69. allezkev says:

Listen, you lot have all gotta take a chill pill…

    Diaby will be back soon.

    There ya go, sorted. 😀

  70. tomstoned says:

Rico c’mon thats not an argument, now is it ? we all know showing ambition simply means you pay the going rates..you cant be a top club if you arent willing to compete Rico..you know that right ??look at the latest victim, if we had stretched just a little bit dont you think sagna would have stayed even though he could have earned alot more in another club…im gutted that some gooners still believe that we’re poor or dont have the money to compete…the only reason why we dont compete is we have some kinda of holy pact with not using money..and were does it come from ??..i can tell you Rico straight from one of the slickest americans you have ever remotely known…have a field day and read up about his other sport ventures..then you’ll get a grip

  71. ktr7 says:

I think the moment we signed Ozil cesc was a no go.Wenger wants to build on Ramsey/Ozil axis and i don’t blame him.just he supplements us to make us even better.

Enough about cesc.its all the worldcup and Arsenal for me now.

  72. tsgh says:

The funny thing is cesc never takes responsibilty for his actions…
He left us because of his barca dna now its because we did not exercise the clause…lol

    Kt- chile and Belgium.exciting football.
    Sanchez,Vidal and the PitBull medel.

  73. Gunnerdna says:

If i never watch the game before i would be convinced football club is a profit making organization. lol

  74. Gunnerdna says:

Does AW ever take responsible for his actions? lol

We get 6 from Man City it was a accident, 5 from pool it was a accident and 6 from chavs it was a accident. lol

  75. tomstoned says:

Rico ?? what about Bayern do they compete why always go for the worst example..we didnt have to pay citeh wages imo…we just have to at least make an effort…but ok it will never happen i know so will keep pushing for fourth and you and may other gooners will be overjoyed,…we’re slowly becoming another spud rocket..and that husrt..me Rico im fed up…i know that your having doubts about wenger why cant you see what that effin american is doing to our club and how can you so easily accept the spins from that greaseball gazidis ??…

  76. tomstoned says:

    add to that Rico the club has itself admitted more or less that ur wage structure was a disaster..dont hav to look farther than the wages we have paid park bendtner schillacci and other top notch players..it have taken us the best part of five years to sort that mess out right `?? so one would be allowed to think that the big chiefs at Our Arsenal isnt the smartest potatoes out there now..;

  77. ktr7 says:

Tom with so many people choosing Belgium as dark horses they are no longer dark horses now are they…!

  78. Adam says:

Afternoon Rico. Horrible delay on the M11 left me stationary for an hour and a half.
As I believe I mentioned sometime recently, the whole Cesc thing has got emblematic written all over it. To me I think that refusing to buy him back while simultaneously letting him strengthen a major rival, especially that scumbag Morinho, will only be seen as understandable if Wenger signs someone of the calibre of Javi Martinez. If he dawdles around and perhaps signs an unproven flake then he is handing his detractors a huge stick to beat him with. To many Arsenal fans Cesc is not just another player. I know some have their criticisms of him but I think he is a fine player who would improve our options. To turn him down and let him go to Chelsea seems daft to me but until the last day of August none of us will know whether it is shrewd or idiotic. This was supposed to be the opening sequence of a new Arsenal too.

  79. Micko says:

Does anyone know if we have first option on Song, Arsene ain’t stupid, maybe he has a cunning plan up his sleeve.
    Dear oh dear !

  80. Gunnerdna says:

    Thierry Henry ✔ @ThierryHenry

Congrats Cescky. Shame it wasn’t the red part of North London but I wish you the best

  81. tomstoned says:

    maybe not Kt but it will be interesting and see what they can make of it..could go either way..me i have a sneaky feeling about Italy..whenever they have been written off well just saying ;

  82. rico says:

Tom, you make too many assumptions, where or when have I ever said I am happy or overjoyed at getting 4th place?

Also, had you read many more of my comments, you would have known that I want Stan Kroenke to sell up to Usmanov and have done for a long time!

I also hoped that AW would have won the FA Cup and walked away!

Perhaps it would be better to get things right before making such accusations!

  83. rico says:

Afternoon Adam. Not the best of days to be stuck in traffic.

Micko, I doubt AW will going anywhere near Song, well I sure hope he doesn’t. And I think it’s a ‘wrist’ lol

  84. Bt62 Gooner says:

Well that’s that little saga over, Rico, i hope your right about AW having something up his sleeve.Stopped getting angry 3 years ago, when he signed his contract, come on everyone chill, relax and enjoy the WC.

  85. Micko says:

Carry on like this rico and he’s gonna get a chinese burn if I ever get hold of him.
Adam, there must be method to his madness !

  86. rico says:

    I hope we don’t sign Mandzukic either…

Good thing is when its been in the papers, it’s seldom true….

  87. vernat1066 says:

Cesc as a player would without doubt improve us, but we have spent some time now getting a squad of players who want to be at the club and given his history with how he left it would only disrupt with him coming back.

Players like Ramsey and Wiltshere need to know they can produce when it really matters and win Cesc would i think over shadow that let wait and see who we get in we need pace and strength to add to the squad and Cesc does not bring those.

  88. rico says:

Vernat, have to agree. We are crying out for pace, width and fire power up front…

CF wouldn’t bring any of that with him…

But I can understand why a large section of fans wanted him back, I’m just not one of them….

  89. Gunnerdna says:

Bacary Sagna’s message to Arsenal fans on Instagram

The message read: “To be fair, i don’t even know where to start or even how to say it… but i just wanna thank the whole Arsenal fc… a family to me , a club who taught me so much in 7years, a club where i had the chance to progress day by day, a club who always gave me his trust whenever i was personally not at my best , a club who change the kid i was to the man i am today, a club where i had the pleasure to give 200 pr cent every game. I wanna thank the whole staff working at the club, the fans for accepting me so fast, making it smoove for myself and my family, my team mates witch i consider my true friends today and i had a great pleasure learning with them. Of course i wanna thank the coach MR WENGER… who believed in me..gave me his trust..and clearly changed my life. Now, it’s time for me to move on and one more time THANK YOU .”

  90. frednerk says:

Very sad day for gooners everywhere, for wenger to allow the chavs to get another one over us…….is criminal.
Fab has his brains in his underpants..the lying little pri#k.

  91. ktr7 says:

rico/vernat i like you said we need more balance in the team.if Ozil is out we have ramsey/cazorla/rosicky/jack who can all play there.Granted cesc is better than them but …they are not shit.much better options in that area than any PL side.even in europe bar maybe bayern and barca.

When walcott is out we have no like for like replacement.Giroud isn’t even good enough to be our 1st choice.we have no back up gk nor a right back.when ramsey is out we have no like for like replacement.Arteta is also slowing down and we need a body to replace him or assist.with sagna gone we have no 4th choice CB.

Those should be our priorities.Signing cesc for such a huge sum doesn’t help address that.it makes us even more unbalanced since i don’t believe we could buy all those + cesc.

Am glad Wenger has shown balls and put sentiment aside.he was not a priority.if cesc had no history with us there would be no uproar.

Thats it from me about this issue.

  92. Adam says:

Fred. Older women can do that to you. No doubt the Chelsea boutiques will be rubbing their hands together at the thought of shifting all that size 16 glittering clobber and those ghastly skintight jeans. I sense a whole new batch of pouting selfies coming up.

  93. tsgh says:

If you were in Darren Dein’s shoes with what the club did to his dad…what would you do? 😉
    pay back is a bitch…
    Micko,you genius…tell Syg Song is coming back.lol

  94. ktr7 says:

LOL …Cesc knew… “Aaron has really developed.
Physically he is bigger & more powerful. If
I go to sleep I will wake up & find him in
    my place”

  95. rico says:

Kt, is Cesc really better than those you list? I’m not so sure….

Me too, I’m bored of it already… lol

  96. tsgh says:

exactly,Kt and the journo also asked him about JW…

Also for those who believe in zelalem.. maybe AW thinks he can be the new Cesc.. 😉 not me btw.. at least not yet…

  97. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Good Evening Chappies and Lasses.

So Cesc has gone to the Chavs after stating that AFC snubbed him!!! Good for him. he has just told the chavs they were his 2nd option. Once a gunner always a gunner.

its like wanting to go out girl A, she turns you down and go to girl B blabbing that you wanted to go out with the other one.

    Am I sad?

    yes and no.

Yes because I feel that he would have been turned into a good Pivote and would have been good for us. Sad because he chose the chavs (which was the only option). He could have put his foot down and said no to the transfer and force his price down.

but he went for the money.

but all of you remember this……AFC was before Cesc and will be after Cesc is long gone. We have gone forward since he left. A new team…..TEAM I said. which work for each other.

But though I would have liked him again at AFC, I feel that AW has done the right thing. As has been said above…..with his fee/salary we would have strengthened in other areas. that means 2/3 players with Cesc’s fee alone.

    we wait and see.

  98. tsgh says:

Get me Morgan or Kroos or the octopus or even Scott’s country man Jedinakand I will be pleased as a punch…

    plus uchida at rb

  99. Hell Raising Devil says:

he wanted to come back Ginge. he wanted easy life. he wanted to be a hero.

now he has to lick Jose’s dick. and AW wanted to make sure of that. so that Cesc will know how it feels to be scorned.

AW is no mug. He will pay you back. in this life or the next.

mark my words. Cesc will not like Jose’s method.

  100. Hell Raising Devil says:

imo….the words Cesc has said might backfire. he wanted AFC supporters to know that it was AW who turned him down and he is such a moron that he did not know that he was telling the chavs supporters that they were 2nd choice.

then again they are not intelligent and will not realise the real meaning of his words

  101. ktr7 says:

Devil/ts cesc only truly shone when he had a free role.at Chelsea Mourinho will only grant that to Hazard.he will have to play under stricter conditions.at Barca he failed to adjust when he had no free role.they expected him to replace xavi but he couldn’t because he had no tactical discipline and thats why he is out despite decent stats.that won’t change under mou…it will be even worse.I don’t even think it was the manager’s decision to sign him.it smells of Roman.

  102. Gonerjoe says:

    Evening all
Had a couple hours to think of the news of Cesc to Chelsea and when you think about it this is the second time he has shafted arsenal fans. I was willing to forgive him for he’s Barcelona DNA bullshit but to go to those arse holes at Chelsea knowing it’s effect on most Arsenal fans.
    Sorry Rico for this
Fuck you Cesc and the horse you rode in on.

  103. ktr7 says:

    Hopefully, Utd, City &
Chelsea aren’t 3 successive home games
in a row. Need to give our voices a rest
    from all the booing….LOL

  104. rico says:

🙂 Joe, no need to apologise….

Absolutely agree Adam. All we know is,he’s a Chelsea player now and that’s it…

  105. Hell Raising Devil says:

its better if she took off those skimpy clothes. They jar with the show. without them the show will be better.

  106. ktr7 says:

Barca are not holding back…this is from their official site…

But despite glowing starts to each campaign,
Cesc’s contributions to the cause gradually
decreased as each season drew to a close.
From being someone who joined in with the
attack, supplying and scoring goals, the magic
tended to fade later on in each season. He only
scored one, six and one goals in the last 24
games of each season. For some reason, he
was never as good in the second half of a
    season as in the first.

  107. tsgh says:

Kt, Cesc was not faking it with us then to engineer a move,… my bad. 🙂

Micko, I take it all back; Cesc was not deliberately shite from February onwards… 😉

  108. Hell Raising Devil says:

everyone is entitled to his/her/its own opinion. But to savagely attack AW because of not signing Cesc is bordering on the ridiculous. (I put IT because some entities cannot be referred to as people let alone a person).

if that statistic about the 2nd half of the season about Cesc is correct than my hat is off to AW.

but I do hope he signs quality players who will move Arsenal forward.

  109. tsgh says:

so true Dev; we all love football but at the end of the day its just a game… more shite happening in real life tbh worth crying over…

    wc2014 starts…

Dev will you take Oscar from Chelsea if he is available?

  110. Hell Raising Devil says:

yes I would. but then again……we are overcrowded in the AM dept.

I would prefer AW to but a RB, DM, a winger and a Forward for the outfield players. no place for an AM

  111. allezkev says:

Carol Voderman in a gimp suit…

    That is a powerful image…

Rico, just opened my Cobra… 😛

  112. tsgh says:

Rakitic tactical genius…the S04 la mozart

PV04 at the start saying Modric is not a DM… lol

He played in that role for long periods when RM did not have Alonso and Khedira…

  113. Scott From Oz says:

    Morning all.
Cesc is gone, and life moves on.
Why am I not even remotely upset, when truly thought I’d be devastated if this eventuated?
Why, because I am an Arsenal fan, and the club is bigger than any player….well, except that Welsh kid.
Give it a while and Cesc will be counting his cash, but be pissed at the type of “football” he is part of, so he can go an get fekked, as far as I’m concerned.

  114. Micko says:

tsgh 8.03, it takes a big man to admit he was wrong !!!

Will Brazil be the first host team to lose an opening match in the history of the world cup…………..can’t see it meself either.

If only Ireland could have beaten Austria and not conceded 9 against Germany I honestly think they would have been in with a real shout, oh well we’ll never know.

  115. Scott From Oz says:

Micko, we need an “also rans” cup.
I mean, if teams like Tottnum get one in Europe, why shouldn’t there be one for countries not quite up to scratch?
Our Aussies will see you there 🙂

  116. Micko says:

Sounds like a good excuse for a piss up Scott !
The Irish vs The Aussies, who’d drink who under the table, too close to call.

  117. tsgh says:

lol Micko who was te keeper for Ireland that day? It wasn’t Townsend was it? joking of course…
Micko, when is Ramsey signing for BM or RM? 😉

  118. tsgh says:

Cesc is a lucky man… when Barca got rid of him as a kid, he could have ended up at Levante or Gijon but thanks to none other than AW… he has played at 3 top teams… stolen a mans’ wife and paid £2m for a £7m house the man owned… ain’t life a bitch..?. lmfao

  119. ktr7 says:

Oscar has just shown why mourinho rates him so highly and will start as chelsea’s no.10.insane pressing and persistence from him.

  120. potter says:

Personal assassination doesn’t alter the fact that on the pitch he would improve our team and that’s all I care about.

  121. tsgh says:

    Lol.. Scott.

Potter, Cesc is a fine player no doubt but I am not sure he is the same player he was when he left us…

I was not trying to diss Cesc but just trying to say there is a fine line between being a top player and a ‘Frimpong’ with no club…

  122. Gunnerdna says:

The ultimate dagger will be Cesc Fabregas holding the PL trophy next to John Terry, while we sit and bite our nails on the last day to finish 4th. AW has certainly fucked a section of the fan base.

  123. Micko says:

Its a strange one potter, Arsene loves to remind us he only buys players that will improve our team, given first refusal, cesc was obviously over-rated !
I don’t know a lot but it feels like we’ve just been mugged with our pants down !
    Just my personal opinion.

  124. tsgh says:

IG said Cesc was never coming back!

AW said we could activate the clause if needed…
    so who has the power?

  125. tsgh says:

we bought Cesc for 500k and sold him for £28M… it would have been £33m if Barca had beaten Ath on the final day of the season…

Not bad business… football has always been a business; only the rich have survived until now…

  126. snaparse says:

how is that a penalty ……..re fabregas just want to say I don’t bloody care wilshere plus others deserves their chance…I wonder if he had a Chelsea DNA as well…

  127. potter says:

Barca bought him because they felt that Xavi was going over the hill and they wanted a ready made clone to slot in.It never worked because he did not get to do just that. A section of the crowd never forgave him for leaving in the first place and that caused the booing.

  128. Wavy says:

Were Brazil ever going to lose tonight….no…….TWO really dodgy decisions made certain that they would WIN?……..who is in charge of FIFA? Think I mentioned him earlier…”.my dreams have not been completed!!”
Ffs the man would seem to have his finger in every orifice! Or am I reading too much in to what appeared to be a ‘steered game’.
Every result should be viewed with suspicion if the Referee is the story and not the players on the pitch.
Or am I just being too cynical? Twice in one day!
Blatter must go. The game he has overseen, with no glory, is toxic! And he is the story. Need I say more.

  129. Micko says:

Stop playing the easy card wavy, Dilma Rousseff was also in the crowd you know !
    Nite gooners, keep it real.

  130. allezkev says:

Well you have to hand it to the Japanese referee, he couldn’t have made a stronger case for getting the final, than he put in this evening…

He followed FIFA’s, Nike’s, Coca Colas and all the other interested parties instructions to the letter.
That is, ensure Brazil win and if in doubt, give them a penalty. Don’t worry if it isn’t a penalty, just give it to them…

Neymar should have been off for a deliberate elbow in the face of Modric.
But no fcuking chance, not in this bent competition…

  131. allezkev says:

Seems that Arsenal have made £5.6million from the transfer of Cesc…

    Thank you Mr Abramovitch…

Also Arsenal could resign Vela from Sociedad, and then sell him on immediately, probably to Atletico… Making a nice profit…

It would make a change if Arsenal actually spent something as well…

But then it’s still approx 79 days before the Arsenal transfer window opens on August 31st..

  132. goonster says:

You came up an unknown quantity
yet we all saw you oozed quality
7 years you played for the badge
Players like you are rare hence a mirage.
we fell in love with you and dubbed you El capitan.
And on the pitch you were never a let down.
You 28 minutes cameo against the villans your brightest half hour
Only topped when you took the spuds to the cleaners.
For years you played with shitheads
Season after season left for dead.
    Denison adethewhore bentner and song
All fell apart when it came to the crunch
    You cried out for reinforcements
Yet all you got was a lack of commitment
You broke your foot scoring a penalty against your boyhood club
If that’s not passion then I don’t know what it’s called.
Year after year “financial restrictions” they crooned
Yet 7 million annually they took home.
    I begrudge you not
when you took a pay cut
Who wants to play with Santos and shitvestre
when you could be lining up with Lionel messi.
We had first refusal on you
but didn’t activate ca use of le scrooge.
Hence you ended up with moaning hoe
even though you could have gone down a hero.
Good luck my captain Thanks for the memories
I ll cherish them and to brianna I ll tell your story.

  133. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Good Morning Sunshines and Moonrays.

Pass a hanky Adam. need to blow my nose and wipe away the tears that Goonie has caused with his ode.

    I am impressed.

Brazil have invented a new method how to win a foul…..slip on a virtual banana skin. “Honestly ref, he put a banana skin under my boot. Yes he did not touch me, but he put it there. That was involuntary and attempted manslaughter.”

  134. rico says:

    Morning Adam, Devil and all…

Beautiful sunny morning again here in the Uk.

Managed to stay awake and watch the WC opener, of course it wasn’t fixed….

What a joke the ref was, the falling over and cheating by host players was awful too….

How many weeks is there of this?

  135. Hell Raising Devil says:

what???? you stayed awake and watched the WC opener??

did not know that the loo cover was that interesting Rico 😛

Fred did not fall over…..honest. He was ……. how do we put it….slipped from behind…..had his legs taken in an attempted manslaughtering method……the banana skin was to blame and the hand of God which put it there in the first place.

But to say he fell over is not correct.

    Morning Lady

  136. Hell Raising Devil says:

We get 5.6mill from the fee Barca got for Cesc.

    Good.

so Cesc will pay for Vela’s return. and then AFC sell him to Atletico for a nice healthy profit.

    AW is no financial mug.

  137. potter says:

£5.6 million ?? I know that’s how it’s being reported but I would like to know how that figure was reached as our agreement was only for 50% of the profit.. As it appears that he was sold to Chelsea for less than they paid us I can only think that it was the money that they already owed us. Any way he’s gone but I truly hope that the Atletico bid for Cazorla fails or else it would be wise not to stand too close to the proverbial fan

  138. tsgh says:

AW is a disgrace.. he is ruining this club… he is a mug and could have made us the fans happy but now my life is over.. Cesc has joined Chavs…

If he does not use all the £120m he has to sign Suarez and a top DM so I will never forgive him…
Does he not know football is about doing whatever it takes to win?
    I am giving up on football… 😡 😡 😡

Good morning Rico, Dev and all the lovely HH members…

Bright and sunny day but I woke up on the wrong side of the bed and slipped on Dev’s virtual banana skin and bumped my head and became an AOB enforcer…. lol

  139. rico says:

So do I potter, I like Santi… But I could see this one going to the wire…

Morning Ts, you have changed your opinion…

  140. tsgh says:

Was joking re 9:23 just in case… 🙂

my post at 5:19 pm too as Argentina (78), England (66), France (98), Germany 1974 all won at home

  141. tsgh says:

I hope SC19 stays but as I said when SC19 renewed/extended his contract it had ‘about to sell all over it’…

Some things never change with our club hierachy like me posting… ‘as I said’… 🙂

  142. rico says:

Really Ts, I didn’t think you would ridicule other fans views and thoughts on Cesc, not on a place like HH which doesn’t condone such behaviour…..

  143. rico says:

So Kos signing his new contract has ‘about to sell’ all over it too does it?

And what about Ramsey, Jack, Jenks etc etc?

  144. rico says:

    Hi Adam.

Thought Luiz did well myself, but £50 million. Never in a million years but that’s what football is all about these days I guess. Silly money.

I’d hate for our club to be like that…

  145. tsgh says:

    Jeez, Rico, I am not ridiculing any ones post…;

I even laugh at my self in most of my post…

Loads of people ridicule my posts all the time… I don’t see you say anything though

Jack, Jenks are younger and Kosser had 1 more year whilst Sc19 had two more years and is approaching 30 years… it was just my 2 pennies worth that was all…

  146. Wavy says:

Surely this is an AM ploy? We’ve screwed up their signing of Vela so they counter with a bid for one of our better players. If we buy Vela we make an arrangement to move him on, providing they drop their interest in Cazorla. In the meantime we go back and buy Griezman from RS and everyone lives happily ever after!

  147. rico says:

You pretty much summarised what a few on here wrote last night Ts…

I chuckle at yours, because you are always saying you said this that and the other before things happen. I can’t keep up with it all….

  148. Adam says:

Rico. It was the first game of the tournament I know but this Brazil is a continuation of the recent past. Most of their players seem pretty good but the thing that made them revered in the world of football has long gone. I just find the whole adulation and the WC in general way over the top. I doubt I shall watch more than a half dozen games before it thankfully ends. I imagine that the whole thing is a corrupt moneymaking sham anyway.
