Morning all.
Ok, let’s get the dodgy decision out the way and that’s City’s third goal. Never in a million years was it onside, despite what our old boy Alan Smith said during commentary and suggesting Xhaka had nothing to make a fuss about as he trudged off the pitch still protesting, was pathetic. Nearly as pathetic as the player himself deciding to stop defending just as David Silva crossed the ball which led to the goal. I’m not trying to suggest the outcome would have been any different, nor am I making excuses for the loss but we’d just scored through Lacazette and were enjoying our best spell in the game. The momentum had shifted I thought and I felt it was more likely we’d draw level than City go ahead.
If’s and buts don’t win football matches though, neither does stopping playing with arms raised in protest as said above. Play to the whistle is taught at a very young age in any sport so why the heck aren’t our players doing that? Pathetic, naive and costly.
City’s first was greatly assisted by bad defending yet again, that and a poor attempt to save the shot by Petr Cech. Their second, a penalty which I thought was a tad harsh but I suspect we’d all be shouting for the ref to point to the spot had it occurred up the other end. It looked shoulder to should to me but Oliver thought otherwise.
In between the goals scored, we were pretty average but that’s nothing new. All too often we gave the ball back to City no sooner than we had it. Yes they closed us down quickly but the passing was dreadful. As were the Alexis Sanchez corners. Ramsey, Xhaka and Ozil were awful. Alexis wasn’t much better either and neither was Iwobi, in fact not one of them should be able look themselves in the mirror and feel proud of the way they played, certainly not any of the starting eleven.
Wenger himself should be asking himself questions after leaving our best striker on the bench, actually, someone else should be asking him that too. Just as they should be questioning why a central midfielder was playing in defence.
But I guess yesterday came as no surprise really. We knew City were a team in form and despite them not being at the top of their game, we made their afternoon training session an easy one.
That was this current Arsenal, toothless, disorganised and weak.
A reflection really of the way the club is being run, and certainly managed.
Morning, well summed up. Didn’t like the idea of three at the back with player out of position, and our main scoring striker left on bench. But had we got something out of game, I would have given Wenger credit. Didn’t deserve it though, but still annoying these offsides happen again and again. Sure they don’t balance out equally at other end, but rival fans just think we are whingers when saying that.
For the first goal, we kept giving it back to them until they finally scored. Not a pen and blatantly offside. We had our moments but we never looked like winning. Ozil and Sanchez are done. Get what we can for them in January and replace them both with players who want to win.
We should stop playing a second string team in the Europa cup and recognise that it is our best hope of silverware and will get us back in the Champions League ready for Bayern or Barcelona again.
Andrew, seems to me that when we are on the end of bad decisions it costs us dear.. Deliberate? Who knows…
Tony, do you reckon our first string would do any better in Europa?
Agree re Ozil and Alexis, their time with us has to be over in January…
Morning Rico. A disappointing, if not unexpected result. We could spend the whole time blaming all sorts of people but the fact is that we are still in decline. What we saw yesterday was an old manager, living on past glories against a new, well financed, motivator leading one of the best teams in Europe. They might even be the best.
What’s really important is that the board see the bigger picture which is that, despite spending big and accumulating a massive wage bill, we are still in decline and we have big problems around the corner in the shape of replacing those who either clearly don’t want to be here or aren’t good enough to be here.
The man that has presided over this can surely not be the same man to rebuild the club, the team and restore the support of the fans.
Cold, crisp and sunny here too, LC. Morning all.
3-1, I don’t usually predict the opposition ever winning against the Arsenal BUR I did yesterday! My BBC Premier Prediction score was increased by 40 points for guessing the right result! I’m not proud about that but I’ve reached the point where realism and tedium is what I now have to endure when watching my football team.
What really upset me was watching citeh play like we used to. Lovely one touch football mixed up with loads of one twos, plus all the give and goes, etc etc. It was Henri, Pires,
Ljunberg et al. Except we were on the receiving end! That was deeply upsetting. It does highlight how far we have slipped from grace, both in ability, style and outcome.
I doubt there will be any change in our fortunes whilst the current bunch of coaches, managers, directors and owners are in place. The club has sunk to depths almost impossible to predict since the glory days of the early noughties. All under Wenger and Kroenke’s watch. They should be ashamed of the demise that they are directly responsible for.
A word of advice for the hierarchy, TIME TO GO!
The only good thing to come out of yesterday’s game was that, it shows the world just how poor a team the Arsenal have become in direct comparison to the team that currently have our crown.
Morning Adam.
You’d think the penny would have dropped by now. Yesterday showed how gulfs apart we are from City..
We are The Arsenal and so it has always been. I remember my father and even back to my Grandad ( a blacksmith at Royal arsenal ) talking about us as the bank of England club and the jealousy that came with it. We pinched Chapman from the North and broke it’s monopoly on the game, they didn’t and still don’t like it.
I saw a chart that highlights our position in the grand scheme of things .They gave 3 points for a league win since 1888 and 1 point for runners up.
1st :- Man Utd 75
2nd :- Liverpool 67
3rd :- Arsenal 49 , incidently Chelsea have 22, and Spurs 11.
Look at the PGMOL and see where the refs come from , in the main they are northern by birth only two from the south on the 19 or so on the premier list. Look at who is in charge Riley – born in Leeds , the only dissenting voice about corruption in the world of referees came from Mark Halsey born in Welwyn Garden City ( coincidence ) ?
We have always born the brunt of the jealous , even the so called scribes of the London papers are Tottenham or West Ham supporters and the voice of Sky and Talk Sport :- Matterface is Chelsea. Our own however can’t say a word in our favour it seems apart from Wrighty who gets lambasted because he speaks out against the club’s hierarchy but actually wants the club to win things.
Dont expect things to improve , they won’t they never have done and they never will.
Wavy, I think the world already knew….
Morning All.
Good post Rico.
The penalty was ‘soft’ but imo it was a penalty, my only gripe is that Arsenal don’t often seem to get those kind of decisions, but that’s more a case of the inconsistency of our referees.
Apparently the standard of our referees among UEFA is the lowest it’s been for years, I’ve even heard it suggested that there will be no English referees at the World Cup!!!
All this under the watchful gaze of that beanpole cretin Mike Riley.
Yes Mike it’s happened on your watch you cheating git…
The second goal was so amateurish in its officiating that I could barely believe what I was watching as the linesman could not have been in a better position looking directly down the line that only a plank like Alan Smith could have seen it wasn’t offside.
But inexplicably the linesman kept his flag down, our defenders momentarily stopped defending and by the time they’d realised the monumental error from the linesman it was too late.
3-1, but it could so easily have been 4, 5 or even 6-1, so was the superiority of Man City.
All the 3rd goal did was mask the gulf between Guardiola’s expensively assembled team of champions in waiting and Wenger’s team of misfits.
It gave Wenger the focus, a chance to deflect attention away from the gaping holes in our team, those same gaping holes that he’s systematically failed to address for season after season, transfer window after transfer window and all the while the owner has his Billy Beane fantasies and allows this farce to drag on unendingly.
Morning Kev, thanks.
What more is there to say really…
What more indeed Rico, many of us on here have been repeating the same season after season, but nothing changes because of the inertia in the Boardroom.
I wonder what Sir Chips has to say about yesterday’s defeat, does it even resonate in his privileged mind, or is his buffoonery just genetic?
Dreadful isn’t it Kev. I just don’t see much point in talking about any longer…
Rico. You’re right. Whatever plays out now will do so with zero input from the fans. The AGM was such a great opportunity for the club to reconnect but they obviously saw the whole thing as a massive inconvenience and a waste of their valuable time.
Why did Einstein start with Launderette on the bench? I seriously think that Wenger is ill, his decision making has been appalling for quite some time!
Agree Adam.
Made no sense whatsoever Lee. The bloke said we were going to get at them yet he leaves our best striker on the bench. Ridiculous!
Nor do I Rico, so other than the football, did you have a nice weekend? ?
I did thanks a Kev, how about yourself? ?
Very nice Rico, I worked Saturday and visited a very good friend on Sunday.
Billic binned
Instead of whinging about Sterling diving,it was a nailed on penalty Wenger’s comments about diving are just a pathetic attempt to try and find excuses for the defeat. It was a nailed on penalty if ever there were one, Wenger should be looking at other things such as the poor defending and the usual familiar loss of possession that was involved in the build up to City’s third goal .That goal was of course offside, but hey ho some you win some you lose, with those sort of calls as City did in the semi at Wembley when they had a goal ruled out wrongly . So give it a rest Wenger you old fraud.. It’s not provable that we would have scored a second goal anyway when the score was 2-1 and if as Wenger claims the momentum had shifted in our favour then why were City able to score the third off-side goal ! Our away record in the league is not great we lost at Liverpool and Stoke and only managed a 0-0 at Chelsea .There were reasons such as City being the far better side that resulted in us losing yesterday ,the chief reason thorough is that we have old clueless managing our side with him continuing to play players out of position and making baffling team selections. Keystone Kos again showed that he is not up to the job and got skinned for City’s first goal and it was not even an header ! It’s going to be a long old season.
Nice Kev..
Wish Wenger was Lee.
Classic blame deferring from Wenger, so fucking predictable bit like his pathetic game management….please just leave!!
I’ve not even read what he said after the game as there’s little point. Just knew there’d be excuses….
Longshore drift, oxbow lakes, curvature of the Earth, polar ice caps melting, the Severn bore….there are a plethora more of pathetic excuses BUT nothing down to him being finished as a top flight manager!
Funny that hey?
Who we beating next??
Wenger worries me more, was he trying to play mind games Guadiola by benching Lacazette ?
We will never know because he is too stubborn to admit his mistake.
Ramsey looked overwhelmed and I think all the boys gave up to loosing before coming for this game.
It is time to put Sanchez in his place and bench him, no point risking him again he clearly doesn’t want to play for us again.
Wenger seriously needs to stop playing games and be serious, why didn’t he play Debuchy instead of Quoqelin.
Sad state of events when Iwobi is starting and Lacazette is on the Bench, the decision probably threw the other players offf and they will be wondering what formation they are to play now.
Something is really wrong with Wenger and it worries me but then it is the same man that brought Eddie in in the the Carabao cup and he equalized in his first touch.
Why must Wenger then go ahead and have a brain freeze every now and then and costing us eventually.
All he’s done is made himself look even more stupid by calling Sterling a diver. There’s no way he took a dive, soft penalty I thought but instead of looking at Sterling, he should be sorting out the way Nacho deals with players in the box. It’s not like it’s the the first time he’s done that.
Jeff, I’m glad someone else thinks Kos is flaky and unreliable… I’d rather Gabriel than him as at least he had balls to get stuck in…
Rico, did you notice how easily Ramsey was dispossessed, he got into some really good areas and City players just eased him off of the ball. He usually falls on the floor in the pretence that he’s been fouled, but in truth he is quite weak. I never really noticed it before but it was so apparent yesterday.
And that stupid grin, is he trying to ape Giroud?
SD, Wenger’s decision making is appalling. I wouldn’t give him too much credit for bringing Eddie on, Wenger was desperate and had eleven strikers in the team by the end of that game. If Wenger was smart, perhaps he’d have started him instead as his record shows he’ll score goals…
I just wish he’d up and leave, last season it was Alexis to get benched at Anfield, this time it’s Lacazette yet by a country mile, together with Kolasinac, they are our best players. imo of course…
I noticed that de Bruyne commented that the City players are not allowed to do backheels and fancy flicks but must keep it simple. The best and most effective football usually is simple, just finding a team mate with a pass is helpful.
Where do we start with this lot , inevitably we can’t get rid of all the underperformers so we can only get rid of the man that allows them to do so. Until that happens we just tread water and will slowly sink to the bottom . I am afraid that an impending relegation is the only thing that will shake the inertia out of the boardroom. From a fan’s perspective however that might at least be more interesting than this treadmill we seem to be on.
Lacazette made an immediate impact and Wenger was full of praise for the France striker.
“Yes, he was superb and when he came on he gave us another option,” he said. “But even in the first half I felt that it was more a case of providing better support up front. That was our problem.”
No!! You need to teach them how to defend better you old fool!
I did Kev, he and Ozil are two of a kind. It’s something they appear to do just after giving the ball away. Funny that eh…
As I said yesterday Kev , there is no sense of responsibilty for mistakes . It starts from the top however where it’s always something or someone elses fault.
de Bruyne is spot on Kev, but then we’ve been saying that for yonks now, yet Ramsey, who is the most guilty, just never learns.
Then again, perhaps he’s never been drilled not to…
Potter, surely if we start heading towards the middle of the table around Jan/Feb, that would wake the board up.. The way things are heading, I’d say that’s quite likely too..
Afternoon Rico and All
Arsene must of thought he was being
clever yesterday.
He thought by playering the Cock
in between the centre backs and
the transitition into midfield to make
the extra one for man to man numbers
he could make 11 into 12 and match Pep
who we all know likes the Keeper/Sweeper
to make 11 into 12…
Supermarkets call it buy one get one free.
Arsene has got to the point of copying what
others have tried..He hates 3/5 at the back
and he hates the big ball up top.
He should have given Chambers another chance.
He mentioned Ramsey before the game
being a perfect midfielder..
“He can run all day”…..He says.
That reminded me of a manager I played
for..He would always go on about his son
running all over the pitch and how we could
all learn from him..
He never said it again after one of players,
Shouted Out
Effing sign Brendan Foster then..Effing Runners.
Rico this adulation of little Kos by some is all part of the Arsene Knows Best phenomena . I noticed Kos limping about again when the going was getting tough and he was probably, as he often does when that situation occurs looking for an excuse to not continue. Kos though is a loyal Wengerite and as long as Wenger is in charge Kos and all the other Wenger favs in the squad will remain in it I insulted ale house players last week by comparing Kos with them because at least they have some bottle unlike cowardly Kos. .
Good afternoon Rico
I believe this game is lost during the TW .Not ref or other if and buts.
Guardiola prepared for the long harsh season adequately. He knew what was needed and sorted albeit expensively.
Le prof in the other hand was busy liying and spinning false story.
Monreal though a good servant but is clear his pace is not there since the previous season. He never being a central defender and anyone can see is not comfortable there. He is no match for the pace of Sterling and inevitably made a mistake.
So the deficiency in that department any idiot can see it.
The only and only reliable midfielder Santi was out injured.Except gossips we the fans didn’t know the extent of the injury.
Santi said to the world that there were more probability to hang his boots let alone to play.
Le Prof and his gangs were spreading false news about Santis come back.
I believe instead of Leicester it suppose to be us the winner with just few additions.
I gave up the season long time ago and fluke win for us is just Hinderance for Guardiola and City.
We lost and felt nothing.Given the 3rd goal circumstances would have been livid other times but now a loss is fully expected therefore nothing felt really.
I am happy that Moanino lost and would love City to trumph.
Agree that we were less than average again but nowhere have I seen mentioned Oliver’s worst decision of the game when he penalised Ozil for dispossesing Silva giving the free-kick which led to the penalty! Given that Sanchez had only one man to beat it could have easily been 1-1 instead of 2-1.
Afternoon my co Venonmous Wenger Vipers.
Never going to spend it like Man$our £ity whilst we have Kroenke so we need a manager like Simeone who can defend (and did I mention that he`s one helluva ugly mean looking muvver fcuker) and compete football tactics wise with the rich kids until Kroenke leaves Earth for good !……………………………still probably wont win the league, but at least we will have some bottle.
Busy day execising and raking up leafs/leaves(?)………………….and now I`m going to carry on my Apple Pie experiaments……….I have loads of pastry and apples…………I feel like I`ve become a mad apple pie scientist !…………………having a crazed look helps ! hahahahahaha
Lacazette looks a great buy by Wenger………….intelligent, skillfull, goalscorer, works hard, runs into space…………..not playing him from start and keep subbing him makes Wenger look not like he`s lost the plot but that he doesn`t even know there is a plot in the first place !
Afternoon Fred, Alex, all..
Good point Bob, I certainly forgot that one. Still, didn’t you have a feeling that City could have stepped it up a notch if required..?
Fred, I’m sure there was someone on here once who judged players by how many miles they ran during a game. Santi was deemed awful back then just because his little legs didn’t cover enough ground. I laughed then and still do today as regardless of Alexis, Kolasinac, Lacazette or whoever, Santi is the best footballer at the club and the most missed….
Lc, for sure we can’t match City’s spending but it’s not like Wenger hasn’t spent money is it, and lot’s of it. What he’s done though is not buy the player he needs, instead, he signs the player he wants and there’s a huge difference. I’m sure Pep signed a couple of players who we could have easily afforded if only the old fool had more common sense…
Jeff, and he’s French. That helps too I’m sure. Seriously, I’d have rather we kept Gabriel than see the constant defensive bottler…
Well said rico, having little legs is nothing to be ashamed of.
As for Pep, did you see him in his hoodie yesterday, so uncouth, I think everyone would agree we wouldn’t want his sort at Arsenal.
The game confirmed Alexis is off in January and who can blame him, a world class player surrounded by mediocrity.
I have little legs too Micko…
Spot on re Alexis….
Morning all.
Players playing out of position makes them look bad, so we ought to judge resume of them a little easier.
Leaving Lacazette off??
Why???
A simple one word question which I bet mucb doubt could be answered with any decent justification at all.
Alexis turns the ball over 21 times but while that’s above average for him, he always does it.
If it’s him being him, he isn’t the player we thought he was.
If it’s him not caring, he isn’t the man we thought he was.
No, I don’t blame him for these results as it’s clear there’s only one person at fault for this debacle.
Ozil, Iwobi and Ramsey shouldn’t ever play at the same time.
We’d have been better off if Wenger had lied and we did indeed sell Alexis and Ozil, even if the inevitable lack of decent replacements followed as maybe there’d be an extra few bob for Wengers replacement to spend.
Maybe.
Exit, stage left.
It’s time, Arsene.
Scott, did you watch the game? That’s not me being picky by the way… lol
Rico, being French helps with Wenger although Lackadaisical must have doubts about that , sacre bleu what do i have to do to get this monsieur Wenger play me at ze start or to play 90minutes when he does ! Obviously scoring goals is not one of the requirements. I noted that the other chief back turner bottler the BFG was AWOL he prudently stayed in London. You couldn’t make it up.
Jeff. I feel for Lacazette- always the first off. The mind boggles..
We`re not the only one`s pissed off !………………………………..my Hammer nephews on facebook are absolutely livid with Sullivan, Gold and Brady………………………..words that cant be repeated on here ! hahaha
It must baffle him Rico but Wenger does his silly fixed subs thingy and that takes no accountant of who is playing the best or worse .Henry wouldn’t have it though and Wenger used to wisely leave him alone . Anyway I came to the conclusion donkeys years ago that Wenger doesn’t really have a clue what he is doing and so trying to work out why he does something or other is just an exercise in futility . With a major shareholder and his stooges not having a scooby about football it leaves the old man from Alsace free-reign to indulge himself in his control freak fantasies why they rake in the dosh. I reckon though that failure to get a top 4 spot this term will see Wenger gone because Stan will not be happy to miss out on the Cham,ps League cash cow money for a second season running. Wenger himself is looking fraught because he can see that winning his 4th place trophy is not likely to be on the cards .An early bath in the Ropey will not be a big surprise either if we draw a decent side . Wenger has never really got to grips with winning KO ties over two legs – he always cocks things up somehow or other.
Rico, I didn’t and haven’t tried to suggest I did but 21 turn overs from Alexis, Lacazette not starting, Iwobi-Ramsey-Ozil combo never works and these things speak for themselves, I reckon.
Would you disagree with these thoughts?
My sons playing FIFA 18 career mode atm, and is up to 2021..
You’ll be pleased to know Arsene is still in charge 🙂 🙂
Jeff, I’m convinced he’s going in the summer. He has to be otherwise he’d have been given three years surely? I’ve given up on moaning about him for today. I’m sick of him…
You are my Arsenal,
My only Arsenal,
You make me happy,
When skies are grey,
I never knew just,
How much I loved you,
Until Stan Kreonke & his lightweights took my Arsenal away.
Scott, that was just me asking because of your Alexis comment and why you got defensive I don’t know..
Anyway, my point was Alexis had a bad day, but Ramsey was terrible, honestly, just terrible.
But as said in the post, they were all quite poor…
No plan, no plan at all..
Anyway, it’s my bedtime.. night all.
Rico, I wasn’t being defensive, but you must admit some players do cop criticism often enough, and no player should be exempt but the turnovers are something Alexis is constantly guilty of yet he rarely cops any negative comments.
Ramsey is and has been guilty of his fancy crap for a few years now and ought to go back to what had him playing superb football for a short time-keeping things simple.
Why Wenger persists in playing the trio I named at one time is beyond me, and why Lacazette did not start is absolutely ridiculous.
Too many things wrong at the place, and we can all see that.
Shame those who can change things are blind to it all.
Rico, I really don’t get the negativity around our best player by a country mile, without his assists and goals where would we of finished?!? He made his intentions clear to Wenger yet Wenger refused to sell him….appalling management yet again! There are miles bigger problems at the club than Sanchez imo.
The day to day running of Arsenal is all on Wenger and he is ruining it….and has been for some time!
Let’s hope your premonition comes true and he finally fucks off in the summer!!!
Thanks Rico, well done to you for keeping us entertained. I know it’s difficult in the current circumstances.
Apparently, Ramsey and Sanchez refuse to pass to each other because they don’t rate each other.
Personally, I’d have XI Sanchez’s over XI Ramsey’s all day.
Sanchez is going through the same as RvP, and Fabregas before that.
He chose Arsenal over Liverpool, and a while back he realised the club has lied to him in terms of their ambitions and ability to challenge at the top end, and now, quite rightly wants out.
Even Lee Dixon said on 5-Live last night, Arsenal are not fixable under Wenger.
Agree totally with Kev on Alan Smith. He’d have been just another journey-man footballer if we hadn’t raised his profile and given him the platform to represent England. He’s only a Sky pundit because of his career with us.
One of many who have used our club to steal a living.
Herb who would you like to take over from Arsene?
Lee, I agree. He had a bad day on Sunday but without him, we’d have been much further down the table..
Agree too re the selling of him and Ozil, especially after the Frenchman’s comments about his own contract.
Terrible terrible management…
Thanks Herb.
If that’s true re Alexis and Ramsey, then it’s appalling. Wenger should have banged their heads together and got the problem ironed out..
Lee Dixon is right…
Evening rico, Lee & Herb
I’ve had a bit of a spat @ the dopey bastards that are running the Club, but TBH I don’t know what to say anymore other than I’m bored with it. That by no means is directed at the supporters or anyone on here. Its just how I feel about the direction I feel the Club is heading, to mediocrity. It worries me that such an institution of the great City of London, with a history that is envied & respected around the footie world is being taken away from the very people/fans who made The Arsenal what it is, a football club.
Morning Rico and all. Surely good management, in any business, is partly about anticipating what is coming next. In football, with its short player-contracts, it is even more important from what I can see. Arsene has played fast and loose with the squad for a long time. Years in fact. He seems to have no strategic plan in place and as he hasn’t commanded events, they are now overtaking him. Look through our team/squad and ask yourself where we are with each and every position. Quite honestly, it’s frightening because you know that Wenger is never going to address each and every problem. This hasn’t come about overnight. It’s been building for years and years. Seldom has the phrase “fail to plan, plan to fail” had more resonance.
Top players will emotionally commit if they are part of a club that is hungry to win big trophies and they are being paid well. If, as at Arsenal, they see that the club is a long way, both in personnel and ambition from competing for those, then all that’s left is the money and if that’s the only reason they are at your club, then they won’t be there for long. This is where we are with Mesut and Alexis I imagine.
Apparently Dixon said yesterday that Arsenal are unfixable under Wenger. I doubt it gave him any pleasure to say that but, he, like many of us, cannot ignore the evidence of his own eyes.
Hi Lee.
If (and it’s a huge ‘if’ considering our hierarchy), the club has any ambition, they’ll appoint a manager with a plan and a long-term vision to revolutionise the club in the way Cruyff did at Barcelona and Fergie did at United.
I’d like to see Ancelotti, but my fear is that he will end up at United because Mourinho is already unraveling and deep down knows he can’t compete with Pep. Mourinho craves attention, and when things are going his way he’s great value, when faced with genuine competition that threatens his supremacy, he behaves a lot like our manager, very petulant and blames everyone else.
I’d have loved Pep at Arsenal, he’d have taken us to the level we crave.
Looking around Lee, there seems to be very few good options.
If the club had any cojones, they’d sack the manager immediately and get Ancelotti while he’s still available.
Didn’t Alexis tell Ramsey to “fuck off” afer Rambo failed to deliver A perfect pass?
One poor pass.
Of course, that was after Alexis had turned it over directly 8-10 times that game already yet nobody told him to fuck off, so what right does he have to carry on like that?
No wonder Aaron can’t stand the guy and i’ll bet plenty of others can’t stand him either.
21 turnovers v Citeh from a guy who wants 350k a week.
350k yet can’t find a team mate?
And he’s our best player?
We really are in trouble.
21 must be a PL record lol
Adam, I dont think there is any doubt at all that we can’t be fixed with Wenger at the helm.
It hurts to say it, but he’s past finished.
Even putting up with a rubbish manager for a year or so will be a positive as it means a new beginning, and after 2 plus decades. It’s needed.
I agree Herb, get shot of Wenger asap and get Ancelotti in to sort out the mess that Wenger has created!!
Morning Gg, Adam.
I know how you feel Gg, it’s all very tiring.
Good comment Adam. Funny how we, well most of us, could see this coming a few years ago, yet the man who is meant to be taking our club to new levels hasn’t and still can’t. He’s been playing Russian roulette for a long time and I’m not sure how he can get away with it for much longer..
I’d be all for that Lee/Herb. One things for sure, the club can’t go on like this for much longer…
Hi Scott.
What has Ramsey done in football that would allow him to pull rank over Sanchez?
Sanchez made it clear he wanted to leave and has in all probability been kept against his will.
He wants to be challenging for titles which he now realises his manager is incapable of delivering, no wonder he’s unhappy.
Wouldn’t you be unhappy being kept against your wishes, knowing that your practically carrying an inferior team?
Scott, was it one poor pass, or the last three years of poor passing because Ramsey has done very little since his one golden season. I love Walcott but I know he’s a really average footballer but at least he gets goals when he plays.. Well, sometimes..
Rico. Agreed. Whichever way you look at it I cannot see how Wenger is the answer. He is on the cusp of costing the club millions in contract issues and we are moving further away from being competitive with each day.
Ancellotti sounds like a plan. Experienced, professional and has been successful. He would also come with a clean slate and a lot of work to do.
To the song of we got dennis bergkamp ,I am sure I heard “” We got Guardiola youv’e got Arsene Wenger ..Ha Ha Ha Ha.””
There are too many holes to be filled with a quick fix and our transfer windows are all quick fixes.. We bring in Ozil and Sanchez but don’t finish the job and once they are disenchanted in comes Lacazette and Kolasinac it’s only a matter of time before they want to move on too.
Sorry, but I’ll never understand why anyone will defend a player who abuses team mates whilst making error after error every game-21 against City.
Why aren’t people criticising him?
We can divert attention by saying others make errors and that’s true, but do those players tell team mates to fuck off?
Who’s in charge of this flawed transfer policy? We have been consistently 2 players short (bare minimum) for ages….
Ancelotti in! ?
Yes Rico Ramsey has been bang average for ages could it it be a classic case of Wengeritus??? How many quality players or players that have shown great potential regressed under Wenger???
Get rid of him and we may see some of these so called substandard players flourish again…
Adam. That’s something I really don’t understand. Wenger won’t spend money on addressing the squads needs yet he’s quite happy to miss out on £100 million, and that’s just using Alexis and Ozil as examples. Lord knows how much more money he’s going to lose the club in the future as other contracts run down.
In my humble opinion , I mean what would I know , the reason for the misplaced passes is the lack of movement once we get into the final third . Our system if you can call it that is to play a final ball through a wall of defenders often to a static player double marked and the move breaks down .
We don’t run into space or play the ball over the top . Advancement is the job of the full backs everyone else is looking for the final ball. I know it’s old fashioned but who runs the channels ?, who stretches defences ,? who runs in behind ? , who turns centre backs ? only two as I see it :- Lacazette and Walcott .Then who plays the quick ball they need ? No-one. Whilst they are trying to thread needles they will give the ball away . All of them do it , it’s the way they are set up.
It’s been that way for a long time it’s not a new happening . Players like Hleb were accused of exactly the same thing . He doesn’t shoot , he’s always looking for the final pass . Reyes ran into space but rarely got the ball because Henry took precedence albeit at least he was moving although I remember Cesc making him run with passes that split defences when he wanted ball to feet..
Wengerball has been sussed , it’s finished . We need a new direction and suddenly the players that we are slagging off continually could turn into the players that we all know they should be.
Players digging out others during a game happens at every club Scott. Passions are running high at the top. Not that Arsenal are in that kind of place..
Lee, just why I’m Wenger out first, because until a new bloke comes in, we don’t know if some of our players are where we are, bored of Wenger and his useless coaching style…

Hallelujah, this is what I believe Rico…
You’d think a manger with so many years experience would see what you’ve just written Potter and changed it…
New post up now.
Cheeky Lee… 🙂
Also a player bollocking another player, when did a player last do that for the Arsenal?!?! It fucking happens week in week out in all types of sport, Wenger’s pampering of players just doesn’t work it’s plain to see…. it creates a soft weak team!
Wenger out!
The question is who will replace him? Who is available? Koeman ? Pardew? Bilic? McClaren? Look abroad, Allegri? Why would he leave Inter? Jardim? Who doesn’t want to live in Monaco? Simeone? Cheated to get Beckham sent off, I’ve never forgiven him! He has no English so he’d find the job very difficult, imo. Ancelotti? Yes, I’d have him and he may be happy to come to Arsenal, but he too is not in the first flush of youth!
The Board however, due a lack of understanding, well total ignorance where football is concerned, would probably look at Chris Wilder (Sheffield Utd) or some other moderately successful lower division, cheap manager!
Or perhaps they find somebody languishing in Wenger’s sheltered accomodation, care home whom they can employ for, not a lot of notes!
The whole mismanaged mess has and is still at the door of Wenger! Will he go at the end of this year? Sorry to disappoint but I don’t think so. He’s never not fulfilled a contract and I can’t see him doing so now. The Board are totally inept they don’t have the gumption to act. They are frightened of anything unknown. So Wenger stays…….more mayhem and failure! But I bet the money will continue to roll in and so the status quo will remain, at least until the end of next season!
Morning all. What a grey day it is today!
