Arsenal defender all but ends his Arsenal career. Striker flying in to sign for Arsenal today.

Morning all.

What is it about footballers who after losing their place in the side when someone else is performing better, they lose the will to fight for their place.

Whatever happened to the fighting spirit, the will to win and the ‘I’ll show you that you are wrong attitude’?

And when did a footballer prefer to join a huge rival club instead?

Welcome to Mathieu Debuchy! He’s been talking about a last gasp January move to Man Utd, which he wanted but Arsene Wenger blocked:

Yes, at the end of the transfer window they came in. They contacted my agents. I was disappointed, obviously. If I had the chance to go to Manchester United it would have been magnificent.

Unfortunately it wasn’t the case. I discussed it with the coach too, who said that obviously he couldn’t help out a rival.

Smart move Arsene because it matters not that Debuchy divides fans, I still believe that the Frenchman’s game is simply rusty because he’s not been playing and when he was our first choice right-back, I don’t recall too many Arsenal fans moaning, some yes, but not many. Ok, he’s not the best going forward but perhaps that’s simply because he’s job is to defend and that’s what he sticks to.

Imagine if Nacho Monreal had the same attitude when he couldn’t get into the first eleven because of Gibbs, he’d be long gone by now and we wouldn’t all be raving over the Spaniard after each match. Mind you, I’m amazed it took Arsene Wenger so long to realise how good he is.

For Debuchy to publicly state a move to Man Utd would have been magnificent instead of staying at Arsenal and fighting for his place, is unforgivable and I’m sure Arsene Wenger won’t be impressed. I bet he’ll be a gonner in the summer and will use my Mybet bonus on it.

I was only wondering the other day, what ever happened to the two Nigerian superstars in the making, Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze, well the latter of the two is heading to London today to seal a move. Talking to AfricanFootball.com, he said:

‘My trip to London is on Monday night. I’m happy that everything is going well and I will do my best when I get there by the grace of God’.

Apparently, Kelechi Nwakali is already an Arsenal player although there’s nothing on the official site which confirms that.

Finally, Jack Wilshere in the news again and for all things good. He’s been an Ambassador for Muscular Dystrophy UK since May 2015 and on Sunday, he spent time with young Jack Gauder who suffers with the disease. Both were at The Emirates together watching Arsenal beat the league leaders:

Meeting little Jack Gauder was really special – he is great kid. We chatted together, shared football tips, and I did my best job to covert him from a Birmingham FC fan, to an Arsenal supporter!

I wonder if they talked about ‘that’ League Cup Final….

Have a good day guys…

It took Arsene Wenger so long to realise how good Monreal is because Monreal was totally useless for the first year of his Arsenal career. But wow he has certainly acclimatised now.
I agree Debuchy is rusty as I did think he was a decent player before he got injured but think we have to sell him now.

  2. rico says:

Dreadeye. Have to disagree re Monreal but yes, Debuchy won’t be at the club after the summer I’m sure…

I worry right now about who steps in to rest/rotate Bellerin…

  3. Wavy says:

Rico, a fine post. You’re right about Debuchy, he really should have contained his obvious disappointment. Going to a mid table team has always been his level, well mostly! Bordeaux is a far nicer city than dream, dull and wet Manchester. I mean would you want to live there? I wouldn’t the French city and its proximity to some of the fines wineries in the world would be far preferable than a diet ogf Boddingtons and meat pies!

Good god Devil ((in the same sentence!) you’re as eager for the imminent arrival as a pregnant dad!) ?
    I bet it’s worth a read though.

Morning all. Cold and bright here again, lovely.

From previous post, Potter, ré Schwartzer, ‘with age comes wisdom’ need we say more?

  4. Joaquim Moreira says:

Debuchy had played in Bordeau last weekend.
Probably, he will be on the list to the European.
Bordeua usually has one or more players in French team.
Isn’t is goal for this season?
Isn’t the last opportunity for him to be in a internacional competition for France?
About the future, he will see.

  5. Marshall says:

Debuchy is not in sync with our team spirit. We’d let him go, and start brooding a right back. Good to hear AW didn’t want to strengthen out rivals- atleast he didn’t have £24million reasons to.

Goodluck to the new signing, wishing them all the best.

  6. Marshall says:

Club before country? Nah I wouldn’t do that either. A club gives you 4-8 years max but you’ll be a french/german (insert your nationality) forever. That’s why Sanchez covers all those miles without even complaining.

I understand Debuchy wanting to represent his country, he just didn’t handle it correctly.

  7. Marshall says:

Wenger will pull one out Rico, maybe there is an exciting prospect he’s eyeing at La masia- our second academy 😉

  8. Marshall says:

Ah Jackie boy is back on the news. Can’t wait for him to be back on the winners podium chanting something our neighbors won’t like.

  9. potter says:

Mike Dean for the Hull match.

Riley will not be intimidated , but I wonder if Dean can. Resounding boos as he enters the pitch and please drop the ” you don’t know what your doing ” chant . He is well aware of what he’s up to

  10. Adam says:

Hopefully, just before kick-off, two errant clouds will rub together and form an enormous potential electrical charge. As Dean runs out on the pitch this will manifest itself as a righteous bolt of lightning that sees his horrible little head as the quickest way to earth. It will discharge with an apocalyptic crash of thunder, strike Dean and carbonise him.
I’m having a tenner on it anyway.

    Morning Rico and all.

  11. Bob John says:

Debuchy should be grateful that Arsene put his career over the club by letting him go on loan instead of whingeing. Anyway, who’s to say he would have got into mid-table Mancs first eleven!

  12. Obi says:

Mike Dean for Saturday is not bad as it looks…. This surely eliminates him from doing the Tiny Totts match and his twin brother Atkinson can’t either because we had him on Sunday……….

  13. tsgh says:

Apparently PSG president Nasser al-Khelaifi had to step to suspend him from teh squad.

Senior players do not want him in the squad. TH14 vs Reyes moment me think…

  14. potter says:

Was only a matter of time obviously he doesn’t know the history of his old clubs Ruel Fox at Norwich and Francis Lee at City . Then again his reputation at Norwich was that of a brainless thug . but that’s another subject.

  15. Wavy says:

And there was me thinking he was going to cite DB10 who definitely arrived from Inter with the reputation of being somewhat unstable on his feet and a student of the Greg Lagounis school of diving! In fairness, Bergamp was a bit theatrical on occasions but Pires?? Once against Portsmouth most notably and then I’d be hard pressed to remember any other serious incidents. I do recall him on the floor a lot when playing against Mill but that was because clean foot Micky kept on kicking him. It was the only way he could get close to him and stop him going past him.
Agreed Michael Mills is a knob!

  16. Joaquim Moreira says:

Gabriel is in Brazil (Bahia – Esporte Club)
He is injury and out for 3 weeks.
    (From Arsenal Brazil)
I’ve watching photos of him in the clynical department of Esporte Club (Bahia)

  17. Obi says:

Rico Clattenburg is not that bad overall. Sure he had a shocker this
weekend; but, he’s much fairer that than most in EPL. At least with
him calls tend to even out. I think Parker is right about Jose, they should snub him
don’t know about Sherwood thou. Jose best days are behind him, he’s no longer a “big time”
manager. Dude is a manic! The problem is serious when players don’t want to player
for you and we all know that players talk to each other. Btw, Debuchy just made the French
team for the Euros, because Aurier will never see no part of that team.

  18. rico says:

Obi, I always liked Clattenburg but this season, he’s had a few bad games and wasn’t one of those for us?

Tbh, I think they are all very average, some much worse….

  19. Hell Raising Devil says:

Seems that Cazorla might make it to the Spuddie match. I hope he is not rushed back too soon. I like him as a player and hope he is like Pirlo Vinery….grows richer with age.

    Good night boss.

  20. Silky says:

Evening all, isn’t Aurier from Cote Ivore?
What did Aurier do/say? I was outta d loop all day busy busy!
I think AW was right to let Debuchy go, he strikes me as a vindictive little shit wit a bad attitude stinking up d dressing room!
I like Aurier in d last World Cup a danger man n got a few assists also!

  21. Silky says:

    Jus found this online

“He called manager Blanc a “faggot” while claiming the boss also has performed sex acts on Ibrahimovic.”

? Well I did just say AW was right to let Debuchy go for a bad attitude! Gotta stick to it.

  22. allezkev says:

    Mike Dean eh..?

Well we all know that he is a cnut, a very small, bald-headed cnut, a very small, bald-headed Scouse, cheating cnut, a very small, ugly, bald-headed shit for brains cnut…

But all that is by the by, because if Arsenal cannot beat Hull at the Emirates, this weekend in the FACup, then in all honesty they deserve fcuk all out of this season…

And I’m going to the game, so they better win….

(I apologise in advance, to anyone who is small or/and bald-headed) ?

  23. allezkev says:

I’m not sure about the accuracy, but I’ve just read that Koscielny, Gibbs, Gabriel and Rosicky are all missing, with no return date from their injuries… ?

  24. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Good Morning Lovelies and Hunkies.

Kos is ok Kev. Seems he has returned to the squad. But Gabi has jetted off to Brazil to be pampered back to fitness by some lovely lolitas.

But I have not heard about Gibbs being injured.

I still feel that Per and Chambers partnership will continue for the game vs Hull, although I am scratching my head on Bellerin, and whether he plays or not.

  25. rico says:

Arsenal want Carrick for free in the summer. Surely to goodness Fleet Street’s finest can do better than that… 😉

    Morning all.
