Arsenal confirm one signing, two more deals to follow? City reckon they’ve bagged Alexis.

Morning all.

As the news breaks of yet another young life has been lost in the cowardly acts in Manchester, more and more tributes are flooding in and it’s hardly a surprise. What kind of person chooses, and it is a choice, to kill anyone, let alone the young and vulnerable or their parents.

It’s just so hard to believe that here in 2017, there’s little peace in this world. ‘Imagine.’ If only.

The country is now at a security threat level of critical so be safe out there and stay vigilant.

But life goes on, as it should because these evil and cowardly bastards should not be allowed to win which is easy for me to type, but for those who have lost loved ones, or waiting in hope to see the return of theirs, their world has been torn apart. Their life/lives and hearts have been shattered to pieces and I pray they find strength from somewhere, albeit I don’t know from where.

Big Sam has quit the game, what a shock that is. Just months after being sacked by England for being naughty, to somehow manage to keep Crystal Palace in the Premier League, he’s decided enough is enough. Football will miss the big fella. I jest of course as I’ll glad to see the back of his chubby cheeks chewing on endless sticks of chewing gum with his mouth open. Ghastly man.

The world of football has gone mad as Real Madrid are reported to have signed Real Madrid sign Vinicius Junior from Flamengo for £38 million. Nothing wrong with that I hear you say, well there is, he’s 16 years old! He’ll stay with his current club until he turns 18 and then he’ll make his move. Is that ambition or simply madness? Can you imagine Arsene Wenger making such a move? Can you imagine the fans reaction if he did? Either way, he couldn’t win really could he.

Mind you, we are after a starlet of ourselves, two in fact. One is Belgium U21 international Bjorn Engels according to reports in his home country and the other, KAS Eupen striker Henry Onyekuru is reported by Sky sources. Engels is a 6′ 4″ central defender, Onyekuru, a 5′ 9″ forward who likes to score goals. Out of interest, FC Kupen are a relatively new club as they were founded in 1945 and these days it’s owned by Qatar and its Aspire Zone Foundation, who also own Paris Saint-Germain. Surely if this young player was oozing talent, PSG would be his destination?

I’m quite confident that should both players head to Arsenal, and I’m not suggesting for one minute they will, fans wouldn’t be very happy. But how many of us would have loved to have been the club which plucked Romelu Lukaku out of Belgium when he was just 18 years old? I know I would. He’s still very much a Marmite player but his 24 league goals scored for Everton is a much greater tally than Ollie’s total of 12! Ok, the former has played more games but then he would if he’s better. He’s certainly stronger and I’d say quicker. He, along with Ross Barkley are rumoured to be on the move this summer and funny enough, Everton are one of a few clubs who are said to be interested in signing Onyekuru. Southampton and West Bromwich Albion are the other two so if Wenger really wants him, you’d like to think he’d choose us over them.

Funny how he has ‘Henry’ on his shirt.

Imagine him up front with our very own, sorry, Chelsea’s foolish castoff up front in a season or two’s time or maybe even next season as Eddie will be 18 years old by then and Henry, 20.

Together, I’m sure they’d tear defences apart if they can bring their current form to the first team. And as the saying goes, if you’re good enough, you’re old enough and none of us will know how good they are until they are playing for the first team. At least we’d finally get to see a bit of pace in or attack, proper pace I mean and how much are we lacking in that department? Alexis isn’t slow but he’s no speed king either, Welbeck is quick but as Sunday showed, his feet can’t always keep up with his brain. With Sir Bobby lurking around the training camp these days, I’m sure he could teach both a thing or two.

As for the Belgian defender, well he was part of a team who lost 3-0 to Leicester in the Champions League but Youtube makes him look good. He can certainly time his tackles well, he’s not afraid to get up the pitch for set-pieces and guess what, he scores from them with his head too. He reminds me a bit of Jon Stones, before he moved to Man City though.

But I’ll spare you all another video clip to watch……

A few newspapers are reporting that Man City players are confident Alexis Sanchez is heading their way in the summer which for all our sake, better not be true. Selling RvP to a Manchester side was bad enough.

One Arsenal deal which has been wrapped up is for the ladies side as Dutch International Vivianne Miedema has moved to north London from Bayern Munich.

Oh, and don’t forget to cheer on Ajax later……

Good Morning to The Lady of the House and all fellow Gooners in residence.

Rico – I think you said it all. Zealots of any ethnic, political &/or religious stripe are dangerous especially so if they are craven cowards with no respect for innocent lives.

As for Fat Sam – HOORAY! Now if we could just get Clueless Tony Pubis to do the same, the PL would be the better for it.

  2. Canadian Gooner says:

As for the transfers – it’s too too early to get excited about rumours. Otherwise I’d be truly dazed and confused come the close of the TW.

  3. rico says:

    Morning Cg.

Can’t see Pulis retiring anytime soon, he’s reaching dizzy heights with his West Brom side…

Agree re transfers, I’m more interested about what’s going on with the board, Wenger and Usmanov…

  4. rico says:

Alisher Usmanov will meet his closest advisers on Wednesday to discuss his options in the battle to take control of Arsenal.

Sky Sports News HQ understands Usmanov is not willing to give up on his desire to become Arsenal’s majority shareholder, despite having a £1bn offer for Stanley Kroenke’s 67 per cent stake in the club turned down.

Kroenke’s holding company KSE UK released a statement on Monday saying he remained committed to Arsenal and his shares “are not, and never have been, for sale”.

  5. Canadian Gooner says:

Rico – I saw that statement from Silent Stan, but I DON’T BELIEVE (my apologies for screaming) the bit about wanting to win the league. Stan is a businessman first, last and foremost; he is not a sportsman. All his teams, whether American Football, ice hockey, Association Football, etc. are run the same way – profits before results.

I may drop out at any time. We had a very windy day here yesterday and the top of my neighbour across the street tree shorted out and brought down a power line. The acrew just showed up (2 a.m.) and I might lose my power.

    Morning Rico and All

Usmanov feels the time is right to make his move,
KSE UK Statement could be the bargaining tool
for a stronger bid….you know..Smoke/Fire and all that.

    The old:
“We will be competeing with the best now we have moved”
Looks like another pie in the sky comment.
Its the same old rubbish again.

Proven goalscorers will cost the earth,
the days of finding these nuggets that cost peanuts
    are long gone.
Arsene was known as a man who could spot talent
    when he first came in.
But if you look at the youth players, most are nicked or bought
    from other clubs,these days.

After the £1 extra for The Vampire and then the Vardy
will he/won’t he sign for us,Its clear to all we need a striker.
How many more seasons will this weakness in our team
    go on for,if Arsene stays?

Trending.. Old managers retiring is catching on.

    ………….Come Arsene Join that club.

  7. Le Coq Monster says:

    Morning all and thanks Rico.

These scum hide behind religeon to justify their evil………it`s a front, these scum of the earth would find another excuse if there was no religeon to kill, they are simply evil.

I`ve been an atheist since God missed that penalty in the FA Cup Semi-Final allowing Man U to go on and win the treble !………even worse, it allowed Giggs to run around exposing that he wore a Gorrilagram suit under his shirt, having a phobia about Welsh men and Gorrilas and hating Man U, I haven`t been the same since !

  8. rico says:

Morning Fred. I’m with you there re Usmanov. The right kind of money and Kroenke will possibly sell up. Who wouldn’t unless the club was in their DNA…

  9. Alex says:

    Good Morning Rico and all….

Difficult to talk about footy when we just lost pure innocent young ones…..R.I.P Jewels.
I would like to believe will be the last one we bury but i know deep down is not.
Something is very wrong in our world and we need changes on that one as well not only Wenger.

Signing kids with a lot of fanfare has become an Arsenal way.We have serious issues with that 1st team and to talk about kids is just what we are getting used and seems the fans accepeted it…..Oh well !
What happen to those bought with a lot of fanfare earlier ?

    1 Christian Bielik …
    2The two Nigerian
3The one they snatch him from some car workshop

Loads and loads of talk fanfare and in reality there is nothing we see.

This club needs a new manager as the current one has trashed and builded not one but three teams. To no avail and his maximum was top 4 reach.
We can talk endlessly about formation and new players coming/going but the problem is there .

Le prof and his hench men has to dissapear then we deal with new reality.

  10. Joaquim Moreira says:

    good morning:
Gabriel ruled out for 8 weeks
Arsenal accept 65m euros Sanchez offer from Bayern.

  11. Le Coq Monster says:

Watching that “Henry” video, he.like the real Henry, likes to play on the left mostly although right footed.

  12. Le Coq Monster says:

I`m sure all the lads on here would love to see a video of all your footballing good bits, Rico !……………………….it might even bring Scott back !. 😆

  13. Wavy says:

I guessed it did Kev. Thanks anyway.

    Fantasy signings, part one…….???????

It will all depends on Wenger, whether stays or goes. Also, the same may be said of Stanley Syrup. Between them very little cash will go out of the club and, that is for certain!

I wish we knew exactly what was/is going on!

  14. Dublingunner says:

The rumour mill is certainly up and running, along with the story suggesting that Usmanov will meet his advisors on Wednesday to discuss a new improved bid, another from Bloomberg suggesting that Usmanov will make a 2nd offer that values the Club at £2bn thus 32,669.60 per share and £1,363,008,216.40 paid to kroenke.

If that 2nd offer were to go in, Kroenke, if accepting that bid, would be getting the whole worth of A.FC for only 67% that he owns.

A few interesting tweets also, suggesting Alexis Sanchez’s agent is currently in Munich negotiating with Bayern, who are willing to bid £50m and £220k-a-week wages. [El Mercurio]

Followed by Bild saying, they’ve learned what Arsenal have now offered Sanchez, and Bayern simply can’t compete.

If true I find it surprising that Bayern say they can,t compete with Arsenal in the wage department.

  15. Kel says:

If that’s true dublin… about Alexis then if he stays it’s about the money if he goes it’s about ambition..

I hope that usmanov story is true as kroenke is the real problem at Arsenal… absolutely no ambition whatsoever, I hope the fans show their disgust at him when at Wembley..

It annoys me that dein who originally introduced him and then Bracewell-smith and co. must never have bothered to look at his sporting achievements which are fucking zero… before they sold to the dick.

  16. rico says:

Bayern don’t pay huge wages do they Dublin?

Agree re your last Kel. I’m not convinced Alexis is about money only as when we signed him, apparently Jose wanted him at Chelsea but he ignored them. Had he been about money, I suspect he’d have gone to Chelsea..

    Evening guys.

  17. Le Coq Monster says:

Agree there Kel……about Dein, for what ever good he did for Arsenal and especially Arsene, he will always be remembered to me as the one who brought in Kroenke and that undoes everything, because it`s all about the future and we will never be at the top summit with the other big clubs until he goes…………………………….come on Uzzy, blow him out the water with an offer he cant refuse !

With the injuries we have at the back, this must be the first final I can remember where we are huge under dogs !……………………….time for a dogs bollox performance then !
    🙂

  18. Le Coq Monster says:

Henry Onyekuro is another who loves us as well…..aparrently !

“I hope to find myself one day in a top club in Europe and to play for my national team,” he said in August 2016.

“The shirt I dream of wearing is Arsenal’s because I’ve always had Thierry Henry as a role model since I was little.”

  19. allezkev says:

If we lose Alexis, we lose 24 EPL goals, so who is gonna take up the slack, Giroud, Walcott, Sanogo, Akpom?

I really like Welbeck, he’s a solid pro, but he ain’t 24 goals a season is he?!

We might not be out of the CL for one season guys, we might be looking at 2 or 3 years, with our best players leaving.

Wenger has allowed things to drift, he simply cannot do it anymore and won’t accept that he is yesterday’s man, Kroenke has allowed Wenger to let it drift, because he doesn’t give a shit.

The players currently being linked to us remind me of the types Wenger used to go for back in the days of Eboue, Bendtner and Denilson, we are reliving 10 years ago!

  20. Kel says:

I agree kev… unless we pull a few rabbit’s outta the hat as regards to talented unknowns we’re fucked.

Chelsea, City, Utd, Liverpool, Spurs all have the advantage now in the transfer window.. Arsenal isn’t really that attractive…

Tough times ahead 4th at best to 7th from here on imo..

    Unless usmanov takes over…

  21. Kel says:

All that hoarding money having big cash reserves etc… ignoring a whole transfer window it all seems very silly now…

    Penny wise pound foolish…

  22. Obi says:

Rico @ 5:05 it wasn’t Chelsea that wanted Sanchez. It was between Arsenal and Liverpool. They offered more in fees and wages but he wanted to play at Arsenal and his wife wanted to live in London. I personally finds the Bayern story had to believe, if he leaves he goes to Chelsea with AW getting someone like Willian.

  23. allezkev says:

As long as Stan can cream off his £3m for doing fcuk all Kel then everything is hunky dory at KSE. #Kronekeout

Whatever anyone says about that scumbag Mourinho, he certainly knows how to win in europa, unlike our man, who despite 10 million games as a coach has yet to build and coach a team capable or able to win in europe.

I hope your not sitting up late again Rico… ?

  24. allezkev says:

Chelsea under Mourinho tried to steal Alexis at the last minute, but Alexis had made up his mind and Gazides did a great job negotiating in Spain.

  25. allezkev says:

Gibbs is now a major doubt with a thigh strain… ?

Mustafi has not joined in training yet and remains a massive doubt.

    I suppose Bellerin at centre-back is an option… ?

Wenger even said he has concerns about BFG playing 90 minutes ( it could be 120 minutes and pens!)

Well old Le Brainbox might have doubts about Per, but did anyone mention to him that he hasn’t any fcuking alternative, the stupid prat…

Come on down Matthieu Debuchy, the price is right…. ?

  26. allezkev says:

Koscielny has really dropped us in the shit with his reckless challenge.

Hey, how about Giroud as an emergency centre-half..?

    Or Steve Bould….?

  27. ausscotty says:

With his agent in Germany, being listed as a Bayern player on the national squad list and Vidal also saying Bayern have made an offer it really looks like our man Sanchez is off to Bayern. Only way this would be easy to stomach is if Muller is included in the deal.
