Another Wenger accident….. Really?

Morning All,
Well it seems out esteemed or should that read delusional manager has decided the Chelsea result Saturday was yet another of those accidents we have had quite a few of this season.

I cannot believe that someone with his supposed intelligence would be so daft as to keep coming out with such drivel, does he really think we are all stupid and don’t watch the games? It amazes me that our tactics and formations and players in wrong positions are so evident yet he does nothing about it. We have the basis of a very good side but he has neglected the physical needs of the side now for years and years, when will it end….

Tonight is a huge game purely so our season doesn’t yet again crumble before our very eyes, we need a win for a bit of confidence and we need to get the fans back on side a little, ok ok make that a lot…. An apology to the fans after that shambles on Saturday would of been nice bit it seems as usual we just get taken for granted.

The injury news on Kos doesn’t sound good but let’s be honest eye should still have way to much class and talent for Swansea tonight the question is will we be up for it, do he show some guts to take into the man city game at the weekend do we show the hunger to win or do we just crumble and give up. We have a habit of beating the smaller so called cannon fodder but after another drubbing from the chavs tonight will show us who has the stomach to be at the Arsenal and wear the shirt, need the players to stand up and get stuck in, let’s hope they do we still have a lot of pride to play for a cup Final on offer and to try finish top 3… Merely a pipe dream….? We’re about to find out soon enough.
Enjoy your day.

I hope what he says publicly and what he thinks are different – 3 times exposed and thumped this season against our rivals is not an accident… We will win tonight.

  2. Mr Wath says:

    Mornin All, again…..

Lee , realistically you look at where we are and central midfield is very weak physically and we non existant in the striking department. Think we have a few young players who not been given a proper run and a few players who should not be playing. We lack width n speed, we lack speed all over the park in my opinion but primarily for meme lack fight and physical players in midfield who will dominate the opposition, we not had those in years and it’s total neglect from the manager in my view.

  3. Mr Wath says:

Thing is Roger his public comments make him look and sound like a complete and utter plum, rather shut up if all your gonna do is talk rubbish.

  4. Scott from Oz says:

    Morning all.
Accident….well it was more like road kill!!!!
Still, we move onwards and upwards under our new manager, Mr Wath.
Give it a few days and it will be Sir Wath 🙂

  5. Adam says:

Every season we can sit back and criticise Arsene, the board, the players etc. But Wenger’s statement of intent is writ large for all to see in the squad he assembles. He is paid £7.5 mill a year to put together a group of players to win trophies. I cannot remember the last season opener where I looked at the squad and thought that we have a real shot at the PL or the CL. I am mystified that a man of his supposed intelligence has sat back during the summer, looked at our striking options and thought that Giroud was enough. Forget about Bendtner and Sanogo. At the moment, neither are what we need. To enter a season, fighting on four fronts with Giroud as ‘the man’ qualifies Arsene for some serious judgement doubts from what I can see. Ok, then knowing what other clubs have up front and to have seen what a slow, ponderous striker Giroud is at PL or CL level, not to buy a player to help in January smacks of negligence, especially when you have Mesut Ozil to load the gun. What’s that? Did I hear someone say that it was difficult or too expensive in January? Yes, that’s because he did nothing in Summer. If you piss around prevaricating then you can hardly complain when the price goes up can you?
From what I can see and acknowledging that it is easy to sit back and pick it apart, Wenger has played fast and loose with the squad and hasn’t done what he is paid to do. We need change. The only question is whether Wenger is the man to make those changes and the only thing we really have to go on is what we see.

  6. francole says:

Wenger should never be allowed to survive another accident, he must instead just ….. We are tired and sick of the man.

  7. DanC says:

What good would an apology do? It’s pointless. Id rather actions and goals on the pitch as response to saturday not some meaningless soundbite.

You should know why he comes out with this in the media especially after all these years. Its all about protecting the players, it always has been. So this shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.

Bad team selection on sat but its more to do the the players and their attitudes and the lack of effort that went with it.

  8. kiber says:

We have only one best choice wenger out !! you are look like dictator political leaders or muhammad Gaddafi, please step down ????

  9. max stirner (@stirner_max) says:

We have a deluded old boy in charge, would not surprise me to see him walking round the streets of Colney in a disheveled state having forgotten where he lives.

  10. Mr Wath says:

Proper comment Adam, nail hit firmly on the head there mate unfortunately.

Which top top club or a club that professes to be a top club enters the season with one recognized striker and one that by many is judged ass merely decent and nowhere near top class…?

  11. Lee says:

The repetition is so boring….constantly making the same mistakes! When will he learn or is this his last chance saloon?

  12. Ashley says:

It’s clear that the players don’t want to play for Wenger anymore , 1000th game massive occasion and yet again they don’t turn up. If you really wanted to play for a manager you wouldn’t lose 6 nil , villa beat Chelsea just a couple I weeks ago so they are not some unstoppable force , there is just some underlying issue at Arsenal that we are not being told about .. The whole Arsenal setup screams money grabbing ,complacent comfort at everyone on the outside looking in , wengers target every year is to keep us ticking over and that’s what he does and in turn he makes Arsenal plc a lot of money .. I can honestly say there is nothing right now that I like about being an Arsenal supporter , our players are always injured , we never win games in hand we haven’t won anything for years our manager has no respect for the fans we don’t really play good football anymore and we get dominated by spurs , and we can’t beat the worst Man U team in years .. If there was a button I could press to not support Arsenal anymore believe me I would jump on it

  13. Adam says:

Wath. It really baffles me mate.
One of the problems now is that Wenger is admired but is ultimately looked on as a loser. Mourinho’s comments were spiteful and hurtful but essentially true. This season he had the option to bury that tag once and for all but chose to continue with his own agenda, in my opinion to the detriment of the club and it’s supporters.
Arsenal need to reinvent themselves as serious competitors otherwise they won’t attract the top players.
Will giving Wenger another few seasons really change anything? It’s a serious question.

  14. Mr Wath says:

Dan C, an apology would at least show that he appreciates the shit the fans have to go through and the hurt performances like that cause to us…? I think an apology would be nice to know that it’s not just his ego that’s hurt it’s that fans that feel it most yet as said they don’t give a toss about the fans just want our money.

  15. rogerbij says:

@Wath 10:36… Im inclined to agree – in fact, theres nothing he actually could say to placate me.

  16. Adam says:

Lee. Agreed mate. How RVP stayed fit that season was fortuitous to say the least. Then the fucker did the same for Man U and won them the title.

  17. Mr Wath says:

Spot on Lee part of the ego and the I told you so.
Adam we have said it so many times, he won’t open his eyes so then he has to admit maybe he wasn’t right, his ego won’t allow that.

Until the owner realizes he cannot just listen to a manager who tries to tell him everything is ok then we will stagnate. There are good people at the club they just need to be listened to and the manager needs to be told what to do and be held accountable.

  18. Billboy says:

That’s THREE accidents in 6 months. Time to revoke the licence I say. WTF are the insurers doing?

I can’t say I’m looking forward with enthusiasm. Dread of what happens next is what I’m feeling. Where is Ashley’s button?

  19. Mr Wath says:

Bill boy, that’s the sense a lot are getting is “what’s next” ?..

If Aguero is fit can we look forward to the weekend or sis it’s at home and not an early kick off we are ok..?

  20. potter says:

It’s all very depressing and de ja vu all over again . I have to say that I have lost it this year, I have a season ticket as some of you know and a few years ago would have moved heaven and earth to get to a game. Ive taken holidays round the fixture list and even got married on a day when we were away to Everton, I went a period of 16 years without missing a home match, but no longer , it’s been knocked out of me. Trains tonight to get to the game £ 99 return to Liverpool St , tube from there , £ 5.00 parking at the station and not home until 1.30 in the morning. It’s not even on the Telly. I will search for a stream and sit in front of the fire with a bottle of red ( Coronas ) and try to keep up to speed with whats happening.

Fed up :- You bet I am.

  21. Mr Wath says:

Potter it’s sad but there are thousands like you and the core support being lost and the club can’t see it and or don’t care…. Something that means so much and has/is such a huge part of your life and over the course of a few years your realise that this thing you love doesn’t love you back and doesn’t care about you….!!! Hurts, you bet it does.

  22. potter says:

I know I’m not alone WATH the number of faces that are disappearing is worrying. A wise old sales manager once told me that the easiest thing in the world is to lose a customer and the hardest is getting him back.

  23. Mr Wath says:

Totally agree mate, loads of my mates won’t go in, they refuse to feed the money machine. They would rather watch the game down the pub with their mates drink chat and laugh together than go in and be treated merely as a customer….. Least in the pub your with your mates you been going with for years n years.

They loosing core fans as well and yet as said hardly seem to care..!
Local fans taken for granted while they bend over backwards for online sales from around the world. You’d of thought all those highly paid execs would know not to abuse the customer and try keep them all happy.. Appears not.

  24. Bob John says:

Pretty much agree with everything here. I ‘parked’ my season ticket after 30 odd years as I no longer get the same buzz about going. Arsene’s ego is such that the more he fails, the more he will carry on in the same way to try to prove people wrong. I’ve likened him to a Bond villain in the past with his empire collapsing around him he still believes his way will succeed. Sad really!

  25. Scott from Oz says:

Game day and everyone is talking about Chelski.
We can’t do anything about it now, so let’s look forward to tonight and a decent performance.

  26. Mr Wath says:

Scott that’s a Wenger tactic, ignore the past and the future will be better, well it won’t if you don’t learn from your mistakes and he don’t so where does that leave us, beat Swansea for sure but doesn’t wipe out the embarrassment of Sat or Livpoo or Citeh or 8-2 mans when do we ever beat any of those sides by such margins..? sorry mate but not in a looking forward mood to be honest.

  27. Mr Wath says:

Scott for your sake I want us to win and win well tonight and the weekend but it doesn’t detract from that dire shit we had to put up with on Sat and it wasn’t the first time so it’s pretty relevant that it’s debated because it’s reality it’s what we are and where we are as a club and we need to put it right. The question is how we do that.

  28. potter says:

It’s about catharsis Scott , If we don’t get it out of our systems it will hang about like the bad smell it is.

  29. Mr Wath says:

So here’s a question, do the side play with freedom tonight or the handbrake on to shit scared to play Swansea off the park with zero confidence, it’s where we lack leaders in the squad when the shit hits the fan…. Merits, Arteta n TV really need the gee everyone up tonight.

  30. Adam says:

Well, I feel better after a rather good lunch anyway.
Scott, in case you missed my earlier comment, I will ring you when I am 15 minutes away from parking. We’ll see if we can manage a hook up and perhaps a walk to the stadium.

  31. Wavy says:

Potter, “catharsis”? If we’re doing Greek tragedy, how about Arsene’s ‘hubris”? We have been suffering it for years! Longer even, than Hamlet or Lear and the rest of the gang! He needs to take a good, long hard look at himself and his methods then perhaps his demise will not be too soon or too violent! It might actually end happily, though I can’t see ‘happily ever after’ just at the moment!

  32. potter says:

The logical thing is to shore things up , keep possession for half an hour , make Swansea chase after the ball and then just before the break put them under pressure . Knowing our esteemed leader he will let our full backs steam forward at the earliest opportunity leaving the centre backs exposed and play our short passing game from the outset.

  33. tsgh says:

Who is Mr Wath btw? He talks the same GG talk as W.A.T.H… 😛
Good read Sir… hope all is well?

Scott, enjoy the game tonight.. lets smash Swansea 4-1 tonight…

    Afternoon HH btw…

  34. Micko says:

Nice post wath, pulls no punches, just straight talking.

Circumnavigate, blimey that’s a big word for this time of day Leigh.

Scott, have a great time tonight, will be interested to hear if the crowd lives up to your expectations, 2-1 to the good guys.

  35. Lee says:

Alternatively we could get our back four to play an even higher line than we did on Saturday….that’ll clinch it!

  36. Mr Wath says:

All good here Ts after eventually breaking into the HH engine room.
Stupid poxy wordpress telling me incorrect password, remember hello how long I been using the same password on here, wrong… I don’t think so.

Micko we don’t need to pull the wool over our eyes mate no excuses no bullshit we all realistic to see what’s going on. some are blinkered some ignore the obvious some slit their wrists I believe the majority on here are sensible enough to see and know the truth and we all know at the moment it ain’t pretty and needs fixing. If it’s an accident like Wenger says then two exactly the same means your a rubbish driver…! Nuff said….!

  37. Mr Wath says:

Circumnavigate, didn’t Sir Francis Chichester do that in the gypsy moth..? If Scott came by boat he don’t half paddle quick….!

  38. Mr Wath says:

Diego Costa, William Carvalho, Matthias Ginter,

I would need to think about a 4th as I reckon one more powerful central midfielder would be better than a winger as we could make do on the width but if I take Cabella or Draxler we could still be short central midfield… Choices choices

  39. Mr Wath says:

Thing is Lee they bought shit, little or no thought…!
I would like Snederlein or similar as he knows the prem leg, not fancy not a star but good work ethic and gets stuck in, know Ts likes him but also have to agree 4 foreigners will take a while to settle

  40. Adam says:

We’ve been too nice for too long. I want to see Arsenal’s Role Of Shame every week in the papers. I want to see blood!! 🙂

  41. Mr Wath says:

Lee, Remy and Costa is well doable if we flow Le quaff and bendy goes…
Cabella top winger for me Ts and won’t be stupid money and he grafts too

  42. Adam says:

Me too Wath. If anybody takes a liberty with our players on the pitch, they get mullered. Simple as that.

  43. Mr Wath says:

Thing is Lee if he your main man in midfield then he sulking more than playing, he reminds me of a midfield Anelka

  44. tsgh says:

We missed out on Cabeya which was a big big mistake due to our unwritten rule of not paying over 11M or so for a defensive player…

I can’t believe AW and the board thought it will be better for them financially (of course due to his potential resale value and age) to pay over £19M for Bender but were not willing to pay what it took for Cabaye…

I know AW won’t pay the £20M or so for Morgan Schnerderlein but he is far better than Bender or any import who will require time to settle… imho

  45. tsgh says:

Scott, do you know what happens to Aussie’s found drank in London… just make sure you don’t find yourself down Brixton.. 🙂

  46. Adam says:

I want to see little wankers like Oscar who loves to leave his foot in at every opportunity, destroyed. Imagine Costa taking shit off of Shawcross, Huth or Terry? I doubt it.

  47. Mr Wath says:

Ts agree with u on the Schnerderlein bloke…. Get him and Carvalho and we sorted in midfield for years, Aaron, Özil, Jack, Santi Ox and Serge can all do their thing then

  48. BrainwashedKev says:

    MR Wath……. MR…..!!!!

    Are you having a tin bath…. 😆

Wath, I did try, but she wouldn’t stand still long enough… 😉

Fecking painting for almost 5 hours, would rather be working…

Anyway, cuppa time, so off to read post and catch up.
    Back in a sec… 😀

  49. Mr Wath says:

Spot on Adam, Lauren with sister Neville by the throat looking like the grim reaper was about to come calling… A Petit or a Vieira Lee, take no prisoners and let the opposition know we there…! Our midgets ain’t got a chance

  50. tsgh says:

Cardiff will be relegated so why don’t we take Medel the pitbull off them..

He is the Dennis Wise/Vieira we need who can play in a few positions…

When Chile faced the krauts last month, him and Vidal made German’s midfield 3 or 5 look very average with their work rate…

Imagine a midfield of Ramsey and Medel all doing 5 tackles and covering 11km minimum per game…

  51. Adam says:

I watched Costa to at it with Ramos a few weeks back. It was X rated stuff. No quarter asked or given but a lot of cheating and play acting. I have never seen Ramos so harassed. It’s just a pity that Costa is shit really.

  52. Mr Wath says:

Kev, Even I couldn’t take the piss and make it Sir…… Less of your cheek.

Adam he gets about mate does the graft gets stuck in and lays it off, bit of a Gilberto, quiet but there….!

  53. tsgh says:

Adam, Schnerderlein is by far the best replacement for Arteta in Europe imho..
I think he is the Best CM in the league outside of the likes of Yaya or Fernandinho, Ramsey and Lucas imho…
Don’t you recall his performance against us in January… the 2-2 game?

  54. Adam says:

TS. That was the away game wasn’t it? No, I only saw the highlights. I have looked out for him when Southampton play, like last weekend when he was injured, but I have never seen him do much. It’s like that sometimes with players others have rated though.

  55. Mr Wath says:

No idea cost on Schnederlein Ts may know…? We know we need players like that so we gotta pay the going rate. Carvalho they on about €35 million….

  56. tsgh says:

What AW needs is na french Frimpong…

What Frimpong did to Nasri will always be a classic to me…

lol… Lee a few months ago you said no….

I think Jw can stay so far as he earns his place…

  57. BrainwashedKev says:

Just gotta comment in the Potter/Wath exchange re: core fans, and the loss of them…

Lads, the club doesn’t care about ‘core fans’….
They’d be very happy with 50,000 tourists, spending a fortune in The Armoury…
    We support a fcuking franchise…..

    Back to comments….

  58. tsgh says:

Adam, he is like Makele imho… he just does the job quietly… the only time he made the news was when he made that tackle against Diame…

He averages 5 tackles per game… the highest in the league for the last 2 seasons.. only Ramsey equals him…

But he is a ball playing DM/CM

  59. tsgh says:

Do you know Morgan Schnerlein can play for us in the world cup too but the clueless FA have no clue so…

  60. Adam says:

TS. It must be the right time to move Arteta on while he still has some resale value. I do like a player that keeps it simple and would like to see Jack start to do that instead of holding onto the ball for so long and drawing tackles. If he carries on with his present game I can see him finished in 5 years through injury, perhaps less.

  61. Adam says:

TS. That is some tackle and a bit of pace too. Tell me has has a nasty streak too and I’ll say sign him up.

  62. Mr Wath says:

Think we just need Jack played sensibly in a position where he benefits the team, still out found it so far, not a DM that’s for sure and he ain’t no winger so where is his best position…?
    Answers on a postcard plz…
I’m off things to do alcohol to be drunk see you lot later and behave, that would be you Micko

  63. tsgh says:

Re Arteta I think he has been good but time for him to be made a squad player or sold if we can get a better player…

I am not sure if we have anyone better than him definitely not Ox or JW currently…

If only ‘Diabolic’ could play 4 games in a roll…

  64. potter says:

    Next…..Kings Head.

Careful of the IPA had a dodgy one a couple of weeks ago. Go down Gillespie road to the Supporters Club , it’s only about a quid to get in , but the beers cheap and not a bad pint. Plus there’s quite a bit of memorabilia to see.

  65. Scott from Oz says:

Potter, I had lovely pint there the other night.
    Supporters club?
On the agenda, as is Piebury Corner.

  66. rogerbij says:

Yes, because its illustrative, not emotive – and I mean for the good wins and the heavy defeats.

  67. Wavy says:

    Potter on
Y just got back. Ides of March? It missed me! But I think it got Wenger, up the back passage at chavford Bridge, a slightly delayed assassination. If it had been 15th they have had him on a slab! How lucky was he?
Tonight, if we don’t win and win well I may have to surrender my coveted Red Membership. That’d show ’em!

    COYFFRGs

  68. tsgh says:

Indeed good analysis but we can talk about tactics and technical ability and so on…but even at 11 vs 11 we do not work hard enough against better teams…

When we work hard we win games; the issue is we do not work hard enough when it matters…

I do not think a pro-footballer needs a manager to motivate them in order to perform…

  69. potter says:

Sorry Roger but it’s only illustrating the obvious and no more than has been said on here and in other places before.

  70. Micko says:

Scott, fill ya boots, be prepared for a crash landing at half time, warm, watered down Fosters beer !

  71. tsgh says:

Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Flamini, Arteta, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Rosicky, Cazorla, Giroud

  72. tsgh says:

Vermalean will get the blame for the goal but any manager who things he can just play a CB who is rusty and get 100% from him is well…

  73. Wavy says:

Was listening to Radio 5xtra but I can’t stand it so I’m going to go and find something else to do until this pain is all over!

  74. tsgh says:

Dare I say we miss MO11 big time…?

Why is AW playing TR07 on the rhs… SC19 is never a number 10!

  75. Joaquim Moreira says:

    We played so slowly!
    It’s look like playing 9 versus 11!
This team is tired. We haven’t no more players?
The level of confident is very low and the players don’t believe and trust in AW.

  76. tsgh says:

    OG12… poor oh poor.

Can Akpom do better than Yaya and OG12?I think Yes! Yaya played at u-21 and looked like a headless chicken but got to sart in a CL game whilst Akpom or even Aneke scored goals and get ignored…
This team is super poor and has run out of ideas on all fronts…

Too many similar players trying to do the same thing without doing much…

Why is Serge not getting games? All hands on deck,no favouritism! B-52 ahead of Yaya all day for me for now…
common 3 goals in second half please..

Poldi to come on… Kim to replace Flamini

  77. tsgh says:

Agreed Jm;When AW did not rotate in Nov/Dec I said we would pay for it about now…

We should have paid what it required for Cabaye… he could have given us 2 or 3 years whilst Ox, JW, Hayden learnt their trade but no we had to be cheap skates…

    I can’t believe I am dissing a man I have liked since 1990…

  78. tsgh says:

Ox very very poor defensively and tactically for lead up to goal but as per usual he won’t take and accept his responsibility…

Typical and disrespectful young man… I guess Arteta is too soft… he won’t have talked back to Keown or PV04 imo…

  79. tsgh says:

2nd half under way… flamini makes me laugh…

He rants and talks without doing jack all… a big gap behind him but he is telling others what to do…

  80. tsgh says:

How many times will Sc19 give ball away…? Ox too.. Arterta slow…

Bring Poldi on… OG12 left up on his own no support…

Where is Ramsey when you need him…?

  81. kel says:

Disaster looming here, 4th not looking likely atm.
Everton winning with a game in hand.
    Come on Arsenal ffs……

  82. tsgh says:

TR07 doing his best but as usual the rest are shite…

How come according to opta… our oldies are covering more ground that the younger ones?

  83. emma says:

No tempo. I am afraid swansea might get us on the break again. Looks like we can play this game all day and can’t score. Hope i am wrong

  84. tsgh says:

    Kim starting for me already…

As I said in January… Swedish Gareth Barry… very good player imho…

  85. tsgh says:

Since Yaya came on we have not held the ball up… poor sub again by AW..

He should have brought on someone else… even Bellerin

  86. Joaquim Moreira says:

The Swansea accelerated and it was a disaster.
After AW says he did not realize the defeats in chelsea in liverpoll …
Apart from “suicide team” does not see that the team has no frills (besides other things).

  87. emma says:

If the other midfielders played the way Kallstrom did. We could have won the match. That glory pass to Giroud and the tortoise couldn’t race towards goal

  88. tsgh says:

To me Flamini and Ox have to stay away from our midfield…

If Flamini starts and ends up making 0 tackles like he did when we faced them away when Ramsey made 5 tackles then…

Flamini should be a squad player; Kim needs to start against City…

He came on and make more tackles than Flamini all game…

Nothing against Flamini but if he kept quiet and did his joke I will respect himk… but pretending to be organising as Lee Dixon said without doing his job is a big joke…

Still blame Aw for going the cheap option… even Frimpong would do better…

As the BFG said when Frimps left ‘the dressing room will be done without you’

  89. Micko says:

tsgh, thank the lord for small mercies, if you were to come in and do a time in motions study on me I’d be jobless tomorrow.

  90. tsgh says:

    lol.. Micko…

6 points ahead of Everton who have a game in hand and we are to play them after city…

    Get Roberto in asap!

  91. Joaquim Moreira says:

    yes, I know.
AW is very passive at the bench. He only “speak” with the 4th referee when the team needs an energetic shoult from the bench

  92. Micko says:

Not that i’m worried about the scum, they’ll choke as usual but they don’t play anyone in the top half of the table for their last 9 or so remaining games, it’s the same ole same ole shit.

  93. Joaquim Moreira says:

and don’t forget that Everton is behind us not because they loose more games then us but they draw more then us

  94. BrainwashedKev says:

There is a worrying inevitability about all this…

Wenger seems unable to motivate his players following a bad/key defeat, if has been this way for as long as I can recall, under his ‘leadership’.

If we get done by ManCity, as seems likely, then I’ll seriously begin to be concerned that we could get turned over in the FACup…

  95. tsgh says:

If I say it often enough, I might believe it… we will beat City!!!

I worked it out… blame Scott for the result… 😛

  96. potter says:

Don’t expect to visit Wembley twice this year , this lot are serial losers staggering from one set back to the next.

  97. tsgh says:

    Night gents and ladies…

Ramsy, Arteta and Kim against City..

    Lets go back to 4-2-3-1.

We do not have the box to box player without Ramsey to play 4-1-4-1 effectively…

  98. Mr Wath says:

Well well well… No width no tempo aimless balls into the box to no one and tippy tippy rubbish. We were clueless going forward until the 66seconds of half decent football where we actually got in behind the fullback. Only player who really looks to drive forward is Tomas, the rest…. AWOL we looked like we playin with zero belief zero confidence and highlights just how fragile we are mentally it’s pathetic.

  99. emma says:

Ramsey still two weeks away. I guess we won’t see him till next season. The only positive tonight was Kallstrom.
    Goodnight all

  100. BrainwashedKev says:

    Just seen the goals…

No pressure at all put on the Swansea player who put over a great cross.
Bony was given too much room by both Verm and BFG…
    Very poor defending from all…

Great cross by Gibbs for Podolski.
Even better centre by Podolski for Le Quiff…

    Poor defending again for equaliser.
Flamini unlucky, as it should have been dealt with sooner in the build-up…

Wenger and Bould seem out of luck and out of ideas…

Is Loic Remy really the answer?

The problem for me is, even if Wenger spends £100/£150 million in the summer.
If his tactics and approach don’t change, then I cannot see it making any difference.

  101. Lee says:

Bye bye…..citeh up next then Everton away, the fourth place trophy is under threat! What a collection of serial bottlers we have….FFS get a fucking grip you overpaid wankers!

  102. Adam says:

Morning all. I agree Scott. How many empty seats last night? There was so much wrong with that performance it was a new low.

  103. tsgh says:

Paul Scholes.. saying what I have been saying for awhile now…

”The Old Trafford icon also accused Jack Wilshere of being no better now than when he first burst onto the scene at 17.” from Metro.

On AW’s tactics against the big boys… He said ” They go on the pitch with no discipline. It’s as though,”You four, five midfielders go out there and do what you want – try and score a goal. A few nice one-twos, nice tippy tappy football – but don’t bother running back”.

That is my thoughts on it.
    Very true…

  104. tsgh says:

    Morning Sir Adam,
    Oh Dear Lord Wenger… 🙂
I am sure it is not the same AW we came to love…

Like one of those espionage strategies where an icon has a double who goes out in public when the actual icon is either dead or bedridden..

  105. tsgh says:

Also why Boro Primorac is still around defies believe; he is the one who is meant to have an aerial view of games so that we can change things if needed…

From wherever vantage point he sits during games he is definitely missing loads or is not doing his job…

    Its a tactic shamble…

I can maybe make sense of the team not being up to speed as no human being can perform 100% every single day but for them to be sent out for a ‘kick around’ when the board/manager are charging tonnes of cash…??? Ffs…

  106. bradster says:

Surely Wenger didn’t say Arteta, Rosicky, Cazorla and Ox play in the middle within a space of 40 metres.
No width to speak of except the full backs and Sagna having to try get the ball in the box but don’t attack too far because they’re breaking down his flank and he’ll get no help.

  107. Adam says:

Wenger has lost the fanbase almost completely and the boos last night were really horrible. I feel really sad for Wenger actually and just can’t see any way he can possibly stay now.

  108. BrainwashedKev says:

    Diaby will be back soon..
    A
Good to see the medical teamkeeping up their high standards.
Wonder if Ramsey will be fit for pre-season?

  109. tsgh says:

We all know what Paul Scholes has implied is true…

The reason why Sc19 says he enjoys playing for AFC and AW because he is given the freedom to express himself on the pitch,… well, am I missing something?

That idea works if you have tactically astute players like a mobile Arteta, Ramsey, TR07, Serge and Ozil starting… drop either and put in anyone else and that idealist motivate goes down the drain…

These players will still not provide the width needed…

  110. BrainwashedKev says:

    Adam… 😆

Yes, I cut a very imposing figure as I stroll down the beach in my pouch and nothing else.
It has caused quite a stir at the local care-home… 😀

  111. BrainwashedKev says:

Ginge, your point on the players is fair, but how can someone like Santi play so well at WHL and then suddenly become an idiot?

Wenger coaches them and prepares them.
If he is in one of his depressions, due to the 6-0, then it’s not surprising that the team reflect this…

Ok, he fucked-up at Chelsea, but he needs to get over it.
We still have a lot to play for this season…

  112. Lee says:

Yeah go out on an all time low….miss the coveted fourth spot trophy and not win the f.a cup! I can see that happening with this bunch of losers…..it all filters down from the top imho! Time has run out Arsene thanks and all that but please fuck off now!

  113. bradster says:

One good point is that Kallstrom looks decent and could do a job for us. I guess next to Arteta instead of Flamini.

  114. bradster says:

Ox doesn’t seem to listen to stay wide and be like Walcott or told to be central so surely Akpom can play that role and he has some pace.

  115. Lee says:

The cracks have just been papered over, we’ve been punching above our weight for ages….Wenger assembled this bunch of losers and when he’s had opportunities to strengthen, he has declined! It’s fucking scandalous what that prick gets away with…he needs to go!

  116. BrainwashedKev says:

Adam, I am most certainly looking forward to hearing what my mate Lee has to say Thursday.

Do you think that it could be Mangal’s revisited? 😉

  117. Lee says:

You know what Adam/Kev I’m over it….I actually don’t really give a stuff anymore ,same mindset as our Arsenal squad!

  118. tsgh says:

Kev-I will never ever say Santi is an idiot or not a good player… what I am saying is that he needs to be told what to do but not to be given freedom to do what he wants to do as he naturally likes to have the game in front of him…

He does not naturally like to break into the box imho due to what I have seen him do since 2006.

Yesterday we had so many players playing infront of Swansea’s back 4 with only OG12 amongst them but he had no one to lay the ball of to him…

I know a few may dislike the thought of me being harsh about Santi but even Pelle’ and the Spanish coach had said in the past that Santi needed to work on his tactical understanding of the game before he can be compared to the likes of Iniesta and so I do not think I am being unfair when I say that…

  119. tsgh says:

Maybe I am being too negative… lol

As you have rightly said Kev… still more to play for and more turns and twists… 7 more wins …!

  120. BrainwashedKev says:

Ok, got a bathroom/bedroom to finish.

Adam, play some soothing music, something to calm the nerves…
    Some Thrash Metal perhaps…. 🙂
    Lata

  121. emma says:

    ts – ditto 9:17
I don’t think the only problem is santi. The front 3 feels that they have the freedom to roam which shouldn’t be. For this to work they need to be tactically astute which they are not. I blame Wenger and Scholes is right about the midfielders and wilshere not improved since he was 17

  122. Adam says:

TS. I was impressed with Kallstrom but he was only on for a short time. He is bigger than I expected but likes to win the ball and play it off. He doesn’t seem to mind getting stuck in either.
Seeing him certainly makes you wonder why we don’t have a couple more like him in the squad.

  123. tsgh says:

    True Adam,
I guess Kallstrom has been out since last November and so he may not be quite match fit…

AW likes those kind of players but he wants them cheap…

That is why I am still bemoaning not getting Cabaye… he has vastly improved Psg in his 2 months with them and he was hardly ever injured…

Since he left NUFC can’t win a match; it just shows his class imho…

  124. Adam says:

    Emma. 🙂
I look forward to seeing your rant when Arsene signs his next contract and tells us he doesn’t need to buy any players.

  125. emma says:

A team that could only pick one pt against the worst manure team in decades and couldn’t put a goal past them is not worthy to win the league 🙁

  126. tsgh says:

Good post Emma re 9:53… I have been saying that since donkey years… the best in the business…

The reason why I said last night that AW should revert back to the double pivit instead of playing the 4-1-4-1 that worked when we had Ramsey…

  127. potter says:

Side = site , I thought that you making some kind of X- files connection.

I have decided only to talk about non footballing subjects today , so stand by for my Arsenal rants as they follow.

  128. tsgh says:

Arteta ranks in the top 20 even though he has played less minutes than Flamini…

    Flamini nowhere near…

I don’t dislike MF20 but I have noticed from collecting stats for sites that he does not do much apart from making more passes per game imho…

  129. emma says:

Adam – You got me rolling on the floor with laughter with your 9:53 post. Hopefully we don’t get embarrassed at home. If Gibbs push forward without picking the right time to do that then we are in for a very long day.

  130. ozgunner says:

tsgh – oh well, at least he was free. If left to Wenger we’d have had no one to back up Arteta – professor my ass 🙂

  131. emma says:

ts – MF20 spends much time talking than doing passes in games. His concentration level is low. We setup yesterday the way we should have at the chavs and vice versa vs swansea

  132. ozgunner says:

i didn’t understand the team selection either emma – so one holding at Chelsea and 2 holding at home to Swansea?? wtf

  133. ozgunner says:

we really need to hand our training over to someone else, these injuries are becoming ridiculous and after season after season of it Arsene finally decides its time to look into it?

  134. bradster says:

We didn’t have a double pivot. Swansea were so deep that Arteta played mostly on the right. I totally agree that Flamini wasn’t doing anything in the game yesterday.

I still think we could revert to a 3-5-2 when Kos is fit cos our full backs are doing that already to offer width, Giroud needs a partner and we flood the middle with central mids already.

  135. ozgunner says:

i posted those stats a few days back emma but everyone is entitled to their little accidents you know.

  136. emma says:

bradster – We had no one making those disguise runs into the box like ramsey often does. Arteta is as slow as snail and Flamini keeps talking with the little energy he has. No one to assist Giroud on the knockdowns
