Another player out as we get the job done…

Well the result was good last night, The performance was quite average in the first half but way better in the second half with way more tempo and appetite to get at Qpr and if we had been a little more clinical should and could of killed the game off before they scored their goal and gave us all a squeaky bum last ten mins.

The injury bug hits again as we lost new boy Gabriel in the first half with a hamstring strain and isn’t it just typical when we think we have got in someone decent to improve the defense he goes and gets injured and is likely to be out for three weeks.

I thought we looked quite lethargic in the first half last night. We didn’t really create very much at all and the pitch didn’t help our game but needs must and gradually we came more and more into the game as the half wore on. Qpr had a few half chances and a few decent efforts but Ospina was up to the job and we also started to compete more and more in midfield.

The second half saw us straight from the off looking way more inventive and looking to get at Qpr, Gibbs and Bellerin were getting forward more and we were bossing the midfield. We had a few half chances before Giroud pounced for the first, some neat play between Alexis n Gibbs saw a deflection fall for Giroud to drive home and he was in the right place at the right time. We were playing well at this point and a 2nd looked likely. We had a few half chances and a few saves from Green before Alexis nicked the ball off the Qpr centre back and clean through on goal he tried to find a pass instead of being selfish and scoring… I thought ooops may regret that but Alexis made up for it not more than two mins later when he ran at the Qpr defence from our left, got to the byline twisted turned and scored from an acute angle at the near post… A great goal…!. Ozil then hit the post and really should of had a penalty when pulled back by Henry who had already been booked, blatant pen and a red card….?

We knocked the ball around and looked comfy but then Austin received the ball just outside the box and was allowed to turn and smash home a great goal but poor defending from Kos and Gibbs who both backed off instead of closing him down quicker. That was it to be honest Qpr never really threatened an equilizer and we have the 3pts…!

Next up is an easy game in the FA Cup but for now we are still 3rd and need to keep winning.

    Morning All,

Great to see us grind out another win last night, Qpr never a ground we normally do that well at so a good win. Glad Alexis scored, he ran his nuts off yet again and so deserved the goal.

  2. Hell Raising Devil says:

It seems that AW is getting used to the idea of putting the fear of God into the opponents.

First he bought Lurch aka Gabriel.

Now he has promoted the Phantom of the Opera with a terrifying mask intended to scare off Barton from trying any tricks.

    What next??? Frankenstein???

    Off to read Wath’s sermon.

  3. Wavy says:

That’s how all sermons should be! Short and to the point.
    Morning.
Good win last night, then again any win is good, ask manure! Shite again and yet another 3 points in the bag. It makes you sick doesn’t it?
In terms of form and even ability we are miles ahead technically, maybe even tactically too! We should win….just on Monday but it depends how the referee is on their ground! We shall see but I believe we can win there and probably should. I’m even beginning to believe we can retain the FACup. Now there would be a thing!

  4. Wath says:

I think the biggest thing for Monday Wavy is we the team that is “need” to believe they can win…! No fear factor at all, go up there roll their sleeves up get stuck in impose themselves and win the game.

    See simple eh 😉

  5. Dublingunner says:

Afternoon, I don,t know i,m not confident at all going into Mon, 1 win in 15 against united are awful stats, We still couldn,t get one over them under David moyes, and they were as bad then, there just a team we dont do well against, Olivier needs to step up and prove he does not only score against weaker opposition. big game i feel for him, the jurys still out. good to see Sanchez back scoring after a barren spell. though.

  6. tsgh says:

You know stats are shite Dg… lol 😉

    Good read Wath…
I was about the ask if you saw the game through a GG glasses but I thought… 😉

  7. Wath says:

Ts, Stats are misleading but that 1 in 15 is a fact lol

Why do you not agree with my GG blurred summary….? and no George Graham was nowhere near me…! 😉

  8. Dublingunner says:

Stats are facts tsgh, Although they are there to be broken, which hopefully we can get over the line, How good would it be to retain this cup. which in todays modern game, would be a great achievement. But as wath said, its a game we need to roll up our sleeves, impose ourselves, but not lack discipline in defence. I just wouldn,t be as confident as many would be.

  9. George says:

Afternoon HH crew…I thought we were very good 2nd half . Our speed of play was quicker and ball control excellent. It was nice to see Rosicky and Coqulin boss the midfield. Every player put in a shift and stood tall to some fierce tackles. How Henry stayed on the pitch for a blatent pull on Ozil’s shirt beats me.

Their best player was their goalie by a mile and their best moment Austin’s goal.

As for Manure, I am predicting them to knock us out of the cup but us to get revenge there in the league.

  10. tsgh says:

    😀 Wath, Dg…
Totally agree mate re our stats against Yanited…

Worst still AW has not beaten LvG yet..AW has played against him whilst LvG has been managing 4 teams…

Wath… I thought you just made the summary up… its like any other match these days. lol

  11. Wath says:

Agreed George, Tomas and Coq bossed the midfield and gave us drive and tempo… Ozil gave us the quality and Santi as well had a decent game even though got knocked off the ball a few times in the first half. As you say the non penalty on the pull on Ozil was pathetic and amazing that neither ref not the lino can see it…!

  12. Wath says:

That summary Rico keeps in the drafts Ts, we merely change the name of the opposition and the scoreline 😉

  13. George says:

Wath, I thought Ospina was class too..have you heard the latest regarding Diaby….? Can’t beleive that guy is still at our club

  14. rogerbij says:

Damn about Gabriel, I was really hoping he would play against ManU. Merts is fine against the slower teams where we can demonstrate control, but I worried about him getting caught out -as he was for their second goal against us earlier in the season…
Good enough performance last night, especially if like me you only tuned in at half time!

  15. rogerbij says:

Diaby is still with us because he has a contract till the end of the season George… and lets face it, noone was going to buy an constantly injured player and take him off our books. I feel bad for him as a person, but obviously this wont continue any longer. I doubt he’ll ever play top level again, sadly.

  16. Judge me in May says:

    Good afternoon all,
Great result and a good second half performance last night..
Lucky lucky manure.. gifted a goal by a panicky Newcastle keeper and defence..
It would be difficult to pull off a win at old toilet, think we should do a 2005 cup final tacts and force a replay.. If we can nick a goal then brilliant..
The whole team has to defend, if we leave it just on our back four and Le coq we would come out with nothing..
Interesting to see if wenger keeps Ospina or bring back scezz on goal..
I can see another deflected goal, the way their luck is going..

  17. rogerbij says:

Yeah I agree Judge, how did utd steal the three points! The offered pretty little again but they keep hanging in there. Im not sure if their luck will run out or their form will improve. But with Liverpool on a run too there is no room to slip up! And I would say we have to beat at least one of utd/liverpool in the league during our run in…

  18. allezkev says:

    Evening All….

Yes Adam, we’ve been here before at Old Shithouse…

You can almost predict how it will go, once Mike Riley has issued his instructions to the referee…

Rotational fouling from ManUre, assiduously ignored by the referee, as the Mancs kick the shit out of Sanchez, Ozil and any other Arsenal dangerman.

Coquelin will be booked for his first foul…

Rooney will dive in the box.

    Penalty.

The Ugly Caravan Dweller will get up and score.

Coquelin will be sent off for his second foul.

Sanchez will be stretchered off after a series of assaults, ignored by the cheat with the whistle.

    Di Maria will score.

Wenger will be sent to the stands.

Arsenal fans will be attacked outside the ground after the game, while the Manchester Police do fuck all…

    All very predictable

  20. Micko says:

Howdy rico, was at the qpr game last nite and I can honestly say the difference between home and away games is like nite and day, electric atmosphere and a great craic from start to end.

Never got going 1st half, but our class wore them down in the 2nd, as for the man of the match Hector Bellerin by a country mile.

“Alexis Sanchez baby……electric Sanchez ooooooooooh” is still ringing in my ears.

  21. Joe says:

    Evening all
It’s sickening to think we will probably have more trouble with the ref on Monday night than the team.

  22. Micko says:

Must have had “Together in electric dreams” on my mind when I wrote that, that should have read Alexis Sanchez ooooooooooh lol.

Say what you want about Arsenal but we must have the best seats in the premier league, even standing up last nite there was no leg room.

Merts has been taking a lot of stick lately but done ok as well, was the last man standing at the end of the game applauding the travelling Gooners, he still may have a future at Arsenal that doesn’t include changing the lightbulbs eh Lee.

  23. Micko says:

If ever there was a case for Michael O’Leary sponsering me rico, I’d be over every other week !

  24. Micko says:

    David O’Dreary rico……not a chance !

You calling Giggsy a weasel lol.

Joe, meeting up with some good old football buddies is what it’s all about, have to do it more often.

  25. rico says:

Giggsy and many others Micko…. The old badger is another but he’s not fit, and as for that England captain, well he’s the biggest rat!

  26. Micko says:

Just think we’re gonna go there and do em rico , call me naive but I don’t care, bring on the Northern Monkeys.

Catch you all tomorrow, I’m cream crackered.

  27. Manager says:

@ Rico: After last night you are lucky you can post at all….

@ Sukky; Sorry to hear this, I will look into it and will set up a forum that people can post their “problems” too, it can be hard to know what is going wrong without experiencing it.

“The first couple of headers you need to get out of the way and once that’s done you just go with it,” said the Frenchman.

“It’s okay [to see], the doc and all the medical staff have done a great job with the mask. The nose is good, it’s still a bit swollen but it’s getting better.”

    Good on you Francis Coquelin.
We’re gonna need his grit and detirmination, up at Old Shithouse…

  30. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Good Morning Lovelies and Hunkies

    How’s life lads and lasses???

Here we have a beautiful weather……cold, sun is shining, and everywhere smells fresh after a rainy night.

just a question……..should the club take Diaby out with the sick bed included so that he will not blame the club if he gets injured while getting off??? you know……being injured on club premises might have repercussions.

  31. Joe says:

Surely a wheelchair will do it’s good enough for hospitals knowing Diaby’s luck he’ll fall out of the bed on the way out poor sod.

  32. Lee says:

I wouldn’t know about the sun because where I’m sat in my office there’s no windows……surely can’t be legal?

  33. Hell Raising Devil says:

Rico…..Lee is at work. He does not have the privilege of being in a prison.

Work is a contagious virus. MAybe that is why Lee has no windows….to restrict it from being spread around.
