A loss would be good today and off to Istanbul…..

Morning all,

Short and sweet today as there is not much news.

So we drew Fenerbahce in final qualifying round of the Champions League – a trip to Istanbul! Not what anyone wanted I suspect but, it is what it is.  According to Uefa, the participation of Fenerbahçe in the competition is subject to pending disciplinary and CAS proceedings but a decision is not expected before we play them. No decision has yet been made on what would happen if Fenerbahce were to beat us but go on to lose their appeal.

Oh I suspect that any decision made by Uefa wouldn’t favour us!!  In any case, let’s just go and beat them and then it matters not what happens and as we have all said before, if we can’t beat them over two legs, then we deserve nothing.

The worrying thing is both Koscielny and Cazorla will be missing.

Before then though, in fact today, we play our final pre-season fixture against Manchester City and for some odd reason, the match takes place in Helsinki, Finland.

I hope we get beaten, and before anyone condemns that view, it could be for the greater good if we do.

We all, well nearly all of us suspect that should Manchester City field a near strongest side and we match them from start to finish, old Ebenezer Wenger will think that we could perhaps, manage to get through the season without signings.

That cannot happen, of course I’d rather we spanked City, signed 3/4 top players and then go onto to batter many more clubs throughout the season, including those who finished above us last season.

But if it takes a loss to make Arsene Wenger wake up, then so be it…

Finally, Happy birthday Bradster – have a lovely day…

That’s it for another day…..

    Happy birthday Bradster!
SP re a weaker squad, numbers wise we are smaller.I think that on our day we can beat anyone with our first 11 but we are constantly plagued with injuries! God forbid anything happens to Kozzer, all this shifting Sagna to CB is bollocks go and buy a CB!

  2. tsgh says:

    Happy birthday Brad..

    Morning again all.

The mirror reckon we may meet Austrians for a place in group phase if Turks beat them but fail next day with appeal against UEFA match-fixing ban.

Unfortunately, I do not see what greater good us losing big will have on the overall future of the players available.

Losing against $hitty may make AW buy what he has already planned to buy but the confidence of the 21 or so players on this tour will be battered beyond believe especially as most of the players go away on international tour and will only have 2 or 3 days together before the Villa match…

  3. chrisgunners says:

I totally agree with you. If losing would force Wenger into making some notable signings otherwise like you said The old Ebenezer Wenger might think that the boys are good to go

  4. rico says:

    Morning again all…

I’m off to the outlaws for the day, not that I’m asking for any pity 😉

Catch up some time later, have a good day…

  5. steiner1010 says:

    @Lee
Why would you think we have a 1st 11 to rival any team? We never beat a top 4 team last year even with our strongest squad. We havent added a man and our competitors have.
I simply do not understand this delusional Wengerite view of our team.
4th place is currently a pipe dream.

  6. S2S says:

Happy b’day Brad..So many august borns.. My b’day falls on the first day of PL this year.

Btw, what is the time of match today?

P.S. Does anyone know what happened to Pato? Can we get him?

  7. S2S says:

Ts: So Pato who was always better than Theo is struggling in Brazil and Theo always gets spanked. Btw, do you think he is worth taking a gamble on right now?

And who is the deep lying playmaker shall we look at since Nuri Sahin is not available? What about Leon Britton?(JK).

  8. KENNEDY says:

do u all think wenger will hv a remorse even if arsenal lose to man-city?The answer is capital NO,because take it or leave it he does not want the best frm the club.he is being wicked, selffish, stingy, pretend to be there but not there.

  9. Lee says:

@steiner I said on our day, I’m not deluded if you’d been on here before you’d know that I’ve been saying that this team has been crying out for a spine for ages!

  10. asiangooner says:

    Hello friends….

    Happy birthday btadster

I agree with u TS regarding morale of the team and i want us to be in very high spirits nefore our CL qualification. I am confident we will buy and i just love ur optimism scott.

  11. frednerk says:

    Morning rico & all,
Regarding the squad size,we need more players fact,
no way we will get through the season,
no way we will not have injuries plus rest for certain players.

On the suarez contract, henry states that the player will not be sold to anyone,
he also states, how the hick did arsenal find out about the clause,
well we all know the answer to that..don’t we.
Roy rodgers..effing two faced cowboy..rattles on about how much bales worth.
No way unless suarez changes his mind,
liverpool would want to keep him.
we’ve all seen what a nasty little bastard suarez can be,
it looks to me like another game of wenger poker.

  12. tsgh says:

s2s, according to whoscored.com Pato has played 11 times in the last 7 months and scored 4 times so it is not too bad.

I will rather take a gamble on Kaka or Gourchuff than Pato even though he is still just 23 years old. Unfortunately injuries have finished him before his career took off.

I rate Morgan Schneiderlin of southampton highly… but he is not glamorous so he won’t be rated.

  13. allezkev says:

    Morning Gooners…

    Happy Birthday Spingbok.

    lnteresting post Rico…

I can see exactly what you mean about today’s game.
Personally the result today is unimportant, Villa next week is the crucial result…

We have barely 3 weeks to conclude any business.
    Wenger seems to be dithering.
Gazides, Law & Fox seem inactive.

What’s the point of beating City and then going into the season with a sense of unrealistic optimism?

  14. Adesoji Adekunle says:

Just pray Wenger should sign Suarez and few other to strenghten the squad. Loose or win, it a take us nowhere without worldclass striker & few additions.

  15. S2S says:

    Ts,

If we signed Kaka that would be dream come true. I think in the ‘hole’ he’d play better than most.

I didn’t watch Saints that much so can’t say much about him but I love bargain basement. If he can be Arteta 2.0 than he’s welcome. And from Saints I liked Ricky Lambert. He was very good last season and his free kick I guess against Chelsea was one of the best.

Btw, how the former best striker of Dortmund Barrios is doing? Is he any good now?

Does anyone think we shall get Dzeko or even try for Aguero(too nice a guy playing for city)?

  16. tsgh says:

    Hi Kev,

As you rightly stated the match against Villa is the important one; I therefore think if we can beat the ones we have to beat we will have the self believe as in 2007/2008 season to mount a serious challenge.

Last season we were already 5 points behind chelsea after 2 games and we finished just 2 points behind them after the final game.

The club will not commit the £55M or so for Suarez until we qualify for the CL; but in order to do that the club would have to have the confidence and self-believe they all claim they lacked at the bigging of last season due to Judas leaving to win the first 2 or 3 games at least especially before the scums come to down.

Apart from the scoursers and us, chelsea, Shitty and Man u have had terrible pre-season results thus far,if we can strike when the iron is hot… you never know..

  17. W.A.T.H says:

Graham clarke – Feel free to write a post anytime you want, See how you get on !!

Lee, you wengerite lol piss funny…!

Morning you lot, Happy Birthday Brad.

  18. tsgh says:

Barrios moved to CSKA Moscow or Sparta Moscow…s2s

Buying fany decent player from Russian clubs is like buying an African prospect from AW.lol

  19. allezkev says:

Mourinho will endeavor to recreate the relentless Chelsea that we saw during his first stint…

If he is successful, and we drop silly points over the next 10 weeks, then you can kiss goodbye to any pretentions we may have had, about Arsenal being competitive in the EPL this season.

Meanwhile, Pelligrini has gone about his work in an impressive manner. I suspect thay City will be strong this season. We may well find out ‘how’ strong, in Helsinki today?!

ManUre look vunerable, that is our saving grace…

  20. tsgh says:

Pelligrini has won jack all in Europe though and in the allianz cup a few weeks back they looked like they have not still replaced De Jong. Their best player was Milner believe it all not.

I still expect us to make signings… I am just trying to look at the glass half full with what we have…

Hi WATH… G Clarke is not your employee then? lol

  21. W.A.T.H says:

    I don’t employ divs Ts….!

Lee how’s the hangover doing…? did you wake up and have a jug of Sangria for brekkie..?

  22. allezkev says:

    Morning Ginge.

I’m afraid that i’ve not seen or read anything that makes me think that there is gonna be a vast improvent, competitively, from last season or before.
Have we made any signings or made any startling tatical change, that can possibly point to the gap between Arsenal and those above us being lessened. Please show me?
    Don’t kid yourself Ginge!

You saw the pre-season games, you must have seen the usual defensive errors and weaknesses…

Sorry if i’m seeming negative, but it’s the same old, same old to me. Hope i’m wrong. In fact I would love to be wrong.

  23. tsgh says:

That is what debates are about Kev…

I am going with the believe that the team that had the 2nd best defensive record last season and the best away defensive record and scored the 3rd or 4th highest number of goals in te league with a whole new midfield and attack will have gelled better come August 15th onwards.

On the weak areas, in DM yes it does still exist against counter-attacking teams like the 2nd half against Gala…

  24. Lee says:

I’m back in England WATH….but yes am nursing a hangover, sailor Jerry’s rum and I had a fight! Jerry won.
    Fucking Wengerite….ha ha ha!
    How you doing WATH?

  25. kel says:

maybe we should look at at season long loan deal for Lewandowski, just like the sahin deal with Liverpool last season, i know it’s not ideal, but imo there ain’t many options left for us.

  26. W.A.T.H says:

Kev, so far your spot on mate unfortunately…… I am still going to stand by what I have said all summer, holding judgement until Sep 2nd but at the moment things are looking worse by the day…!

If we are sitting with the same squad come Sep 3rd then it’s gross neglect and mis-management from Wenger in my book and totally unacceptable.

I am grasping at straws still thinking that someone with Wengers intelligence cannot be so pig ignorant and stupid as to not see this teams needs quality additions but we shall see.

  27. allezkev says:

What, you mean the team that finished a single point in front of the Spuds…

The team that only just limped into 4th..?

    Really Ginge???

I will enjoy watching the youngsters Ginge.

But I will not be fooled again…

As we stand, finishing 3rd is the ultimate that this team can achive imho.
Possibly winning a cup, although even that is becoming a fading dream.

    EPL contenders, dream on!

    CL? Yeah right!

Morning Wath, Camden Market today? 😉

    Offski now.

  28. S2S says:

    Ts,

Against Gala in second half we had our handbrakes on. We didnt move the ball quickly and defended deep and went deeper as game progressed that to without our best left CD who specializes in defending deep and we paid the ultimate price when Drog dived. Else there is no way in hell they could beat us not even at their own back yard.

  29. tsgh says:

I guess its all doom then! Especially finishing 1 point ahead of spurs when they have strengthen with players with no experience in this league. 😉

  30. W.A.T.H says:

Sorry Lee, no idea why u went into mod….

A hang over mate is the only thing to be nursing the day after ya birthday plus you should be getting nursed by a buxom blonde… just don’t tell the Mrs 😉

All good here mate… Apart from all things Arsenal of course…!

  31. S2S says:

    Kev,

We need 2 good squad players and one top class striker who is good at link up play as well. The other one is required to be part of team as MA08’s under study and the other one who could play RB/CB. That’s all. For the other parts I think our youngsters can do the job. I think wings are secured as well as MF. Just keep the faith and support. If they all come together without anyone having a bad day, we’d beat most if not all teams on the given day.

  32. W.A.T.H says:

S2S…. All those “IF’s” in your comment are like me grasping at straws…!

IF we just went out and stopped pissing in the wind with our transfer plans and actually bought 3/4 proper top quality players if this one or if that one got injured or had an off day would not be of any consequence… Then the young players can be integrated properly into the squad without tons of pressure on them as well unlike the last 5/6 years that the youngsters have had to put up with as no experienced players to lean on when things were tough hence we’ve failed when it was backs to the wall most of the time..!

    Just a thought..!

  33. emma says:

    Morning all,
I know it’s all gloom b/s we’ve not strengthened so far. Lets wait and see what happens come 3rd sept. before we go off the rail. The goodnews is we’ve not lost anyone who were a bedrock to us finishing strongly last season. Lets hope no injuries from today’s fixture and the interlude and we can push on from there. Giroud, Cazorla and hopefully Podolski will get stronger after their first year experience in the EPL. I am still expecting 3 signings(RB,DM,ST) before the window ends.

  34. Wavy says:

Wenger’s excuse if no signings are made will be twofold; “we tried very hard but all our targets were unavailable and I believe
I have the best squad I have ever had. So we will gowith what we have got!”
    Or:
“Ziss iz ma larst yur ‘ear and Ah did nut wunt to spend much on pliers zat ma sucksessor wud nut wunt ta keep”.
    Or words to that effect.

Also Jamie Carriage-ah hadnafew interesting things to say about Suarez this mornig in the daily fail. Not looking good for the dippers. Sounds like LS has taken his bat, ball, boots and effort home. Nobody is going to mess with him!
Brenda seem, at this stage to have got the whole situation completely wrong. I suspect irretrievably. We’ll see.

  35. allezkev says:

Ginge, it isn’t as simplistic as being a Doomer or it’s all doom….

Arsenal have had a golden opportunity to really close the gap, and maybe, move ahead of those 3 clubs above us this summer. With all three changing managers….

Can you honestly say that Arsene/Arsenal, have taken hold of that opportunity???

Can you see where? Because I cannot!

Does that make me a Doomer if I cannot see what you can?

If so, then yes, I must be a Doomer…

  36. emma says:

I 😆 when I read that we are weaker. We are not. Those who have left or sold contributed little(Gerv) or nothing to the team. We didn’t start well last season and lost a lot of points because of the new players and reconstruction of our midfield. If we could get in these 3 players before the transfer window ends, I see us pushing for the title this season

  37. devilgunner says:

Good Morning Lady, Sir, Gentlemen and Ladies.

I agree with you Rico. A loss today would be preferable if it forces Ebenezer to buy someone. We do need new faces.

I guess that the reason that there is no movement for Rooney because the player and the club are waiting to see if AFC are in the CL or not.

If we go through against the Turks then I feel that AW will splash..

  38. southyorkshiregunner says:

Morning all. Ginge, Kev, wath, scott etc.
Tottenham have strengthened very well thus far.
Believe it or not – we have strengthened. Everyone we got shut of so far had no real input in the first 11. Inc the “Greatest Player at the ACON”.
Gnabry, Chamberlain and hopefully Zed will get their chances this season and take them. Touch wood.
We need 3 world class players and one good one to integrate into the squad. As stated: fcukng game changers.

  39. allezkev says:

S2S 11.15; Hi mate, yes, I cannot disagree with your analysis, but why does it take so long?

In seven days the season starts, Suarez would be great, but why no other business?

The players we need or alternatives if not available, should have been identified months ago…

Total inertia once again as the summer drifts away.

  40. S2S says:

    W.A.T.H.,

The same’ifs’ will be applied even if we sign new players, its what if they don’t mingle with the team well or what if they do Chamakh or worse Torress? Ifs will always going to be there but important thing is to back our players up. You can’t throw them down to sink cause media are already doing that with “why LS would want to go to Arsenal?” because for once we can effing afford him and with him we’ll have that X-factor.

So, I’d say, yes we need new signings and new players but not by saying that this lot is shite or not good enough.

And I’d rather we smash City tonight and Arsene goes onto sign Kun Aguero than we lose today.

  41. W.A.T.H says:

S2S, the same “if’s” do apply when you buy a player but surely less so if the player is a quality addition rather than if a 17 year old makes us better or lets buy 4 for the price of 2 and make up the numbers and thats what we have done for years now. We need quality mate simple as that and then let the if be about how soon that quality player beds in..!

  42. southyorkshiregunner says:

Wenger will try to get Kaka on a 12-month loan.
He tried it 2 /3 seasons ago.
Strange why he didn’t go for Capoue when he has enquired re his availabilty in the past? Same goes with Gourcuff? I’m not up to speed with the ITK stuff, but it just seems strange that we are stagnant at the present time?
Suarez will be an Arsenal player as I can’t see him playing for Liverpool again.
We bid £19M for Lars Bender so we know Wenger knows we are deficient in that area and that he’s not relying on what we have.
Two world class players we’ve bid for and I bet there are others we don’t know about.

  43. S2S says:

    Kev,

The reason I find is what Arsene said: To do transfer 3 parties have to agree, buying club, selling club and the player. This season we’ve been able to meet with player and agent demands but not club demands. I still think we had an oral agreement with RM for Gonzo and cause of that we didn’t have plan ‘B’ for striker and we started looking elsewhere once it was sure that Real had screwed us. And that is one shock that we’re still recovering from.

And for MF and defender, I really don’t know. I think we’re waiting for one overwhelming signing which could help us to showcase 2 underwhelming signings.

  44. tsgh says:

    Mr kev,
I know I piss off a few on here but I am expecting that is not the case with you today.

In all of my above posts I have always said I am choosing to see things differently.I have never said anyone should agree with my views.
We all agree we need strengthening every single one on here repeating what is termed ‘real’ on here will not make any difference to what the club does IMHO…afterall, only 4 or 5 people are constantly trying to be optimistic.
I thought it was ok to disagree here…

  45. W.A.T.H says:

S2S… The media can go do one mate, we ain’t the media I take zero notice of anything in the media I take notice of what I see on and off the pitch and thats what I make judgement on and base my opinion on, If we don’t strengthen we’re no better off than the end of the season and we all know that’s not good enough to win us anything and given the funds and the opportunity to be competitive that would as I said earlier be negligence on behalf of the manager and board. We’ll wait and see.

  46. S2S says:

    W.A.T.H.,

Look at the 16 or 17 year olds we’ve been able to sign. Some of them could make any team better.

Cesc, Nasri, Gibbs, Theo, Ox, Ignasi, Jenkinson, Rambo et al. Some of them have been miss but they have made club some money. And tbh, I’d rather have those 19y.o. than some of the seasoned pros.

The only 21y.o. striker I will love to have is Mario..lol

  47. W.A.T.H says:

Scott, If only I had a barman to bring me GG while I watch the cricket….! Even that’s getting boring..!

  48. tsgh says:

we also bid for Gonalons and Clement of Lille… Just saying. Those are the ones we were lucky to know about…

  49. Scott from Oz says:

Lets face it, none of us really know who the hell the club are looking at, so there is really no point stressing over things.
    Whatever happens will happen.
    Wath, try the golf 🙂

  50. allezkev says:

S2S, Arsene was stating the blindingly obvious, we all know that 3 parties need to agree.

Why would anyone, shake hands with Real Madrid S2S, and trust anything those assholes say???

Fair points you make, but bad judgement by our management.

  51. tsgh says:

Welbeck scored 1 goal in the epl last year but is playing for the best team in the land and Engand…
    Sanofi looks better
Man U have been able to win because they have a team first and foremost who have been together for over 6 years.so has chelseas since 2003.

  52. tsgh says:

all clubs tell lies.last week Brenda was telling the media that Suarez was training as usual and he was beginning to play in games but was not much fit.Now after the Suarez interview the truth is out that he has not been doing as Brenda said before….

  53. agirlagunner says:

Boo!! Hello, all! I hope you’re having fun, rico, 😛 We’ll win this one. And buy super players next week. Win-win. 😉

Hello, ginge, S2S. Kev, don’t text and drive! And WATH, don’t drink and drive, of course. 😀

Happy birthday, Brad!! Hope you have a luvvly and bubbly day with your fam. 🙂 🙂

  54. Henny says:

Afternoon all, I enjoyed the post as I always do. Regarding this tfw I know most people are stress and quite annoyed understandably. I have taken it a bit easy as for the first time I haven’t been ripping my hair out or cursing players for wanted to leave us. I’ve also been tormenting a few liverfools fans about losing Suarez, I have to keep myself entertained. I do have a lot of faith in this squad, maybe blind faith, alot of our players are young and developing and will be much stronger now then last season, in terms of strength of character decision making technical ability and physically as well.

  55. allezkev says:

Ginge, you don’t piss md off, all I am doing, in between jobs, is defending my position…

If my manner is strident, then that is down to another wasted transfer window.

I cannot and will not subscribe to the ‘It’ll be alright on the night’ mindset anymore.

I went into last season with that kind of wing and a prayer hope, for the last time.

This summer I wanted action, not words, not promises, no more bullshit, and what do I see, Sanogo on a free…

    Looks familiar eh???

I don’t wanna rain on anyones parade, so i’m off back to work…

But I don’t buy the clubs excuses or crapola anymore….

Do you see where i’m coming from Ginge?

  56. southyorkshiregunner says:

Hiya Ginge. You don’t piss me off kidda. Love your stats and your stance on players…. Especially Benteke lol !
We all want the same end product..

  57. southyorkshiregunner says:

I agree with kev and many more.
We should have been more proactive.
Sanogo may be good but I doubt it. Another chris wreh or another Anelka? Who knows? Wenger certainly doesn’t and is insulting our intelligence with his recent quotes surrounding the alleged brilliance of our new acquisition.
Is he better than Bendtner who we are trying to ship out? No. Really! Is he better than Vela? No.
So why have we bought him? And no he isn’t FREE. He’s on a Diaby-esque contract worth millions and who if he turns out to be shit we’ll not be able to crowbar out of the door.
I aren’t knocking the lad, but he’s the last player we need. We got loads of them in the reserves and on loan. Campbell, wellington. Afobe, Akpom etc.
We need proven world class additions.

  58. tsgh says:

I get ur point Kev.I honestly do as you and Sp1 always try to look forward to the next game even after ‘bradford’.lol

Syg,you know where I stand with you is Gerv. 😛

  59. Scott from Oz says:

Kev, i understand the frustration, and in a few weeks, unless things change, i will feel the same way.
    Not yet though 🙂

  60. devilgunner says:

    Proposed team for today………….

    Fabianski
    Lauren, Adams,McClintock, Nelson.
    Storey, Vieira
    Rocastle,Cazorla,Brady
    Drake

    AFC 5, Shitty 0

    Drake 4, Rocastle 1

  61. southyorkshiregunner says:

Great players from the past. Nice reminiscing, but the past is when they were great. Not now.
The father in law used to go on about Albert Quixall, Raich Carter, Tom Finney etc. All good in their time, however sport gets more compeyitive and better.
The first 4 minute mile was done by roger bannister. Most amateurs can do a 4 minute mile nowadays. Football is no different.

  62. stevepalmer1 says:

Afternoon all and nice short one Rico 🙂
Thanks Lee sorry for leaving it so long, i see what you mean mate. Happy birthday Brad.
Feel free everyone to write a post Rico would probably thank you, but dont be under any illusions whatever you believe will come under criticism thats why this sites logo is “WHERE ITS OK TO DISSAGREE” 🙂

  63. Lee says:

We’ve got two fit centre backs and up front Giroud is our main striker……what happens if any of those get injured? So on that basis we are weaker! Win the league with 3 new players? Not with the three that we’ll probably buy…..also I think Wenger has lost his mojo, he is often getting out smarted by other managers.
I really thought this window was going to be different, get our business done early and pick up from where we left off last season! Fingers crossed for the remainder of the window!!!
    COYGS and FOYS!!!

  64. stevepalmer1 says:

I am going with Wath’s view, wait till the end and judge it then. But if we only have sanogo then i won’t be very happy, thats not saying i dont rate sanogo as i think this guy will probably turn out our best signing 🙂

  65. GunnerDNA says:

    Wait until 2nd September. lol

First it was the players we want the team got no managers, the rich clubs have bought the best players early and all the other bullshit that came from AW mouth and people fall for it, i thought the entire football world knew what the squad decencies was from last season but AW keep reducing the level of expectation until fans start accepting that bids made are acceptable, even thought they were unsuccessful bids, which will never improve the team. Its laughable how highly failure is accepted…..

  66. agirlagunner says:

Hello, again, all. ) How did you celebrate your birthday, Lee? 🙂

Funny watching a £30M brazillian and a £220K a week man mountain struggle against our midfield 3 on a total salary less than Yaya’s…

  70. tsgh says:

The 2 giants in midfield are hacking down our players…

Poldi as the no.9 this afternoon. Trialist Perez is on the bench.

Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Arteta, Ramsey, Wilshere, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Podolski.

Subs: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Hayden, Giroud, Cazorla and Zelalem, Perez

    Man City Team
Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy, Fernandinho, Toure, Silva, Milner, Dzeko, Negredo

    Subs:

  71. agirlagunner says:

What is a “yardie”? I’m just looking at live updates. I see we are loved in Helsinki. 😉

  72. tsgh says:

We are loved every way bar home…lol

According to wiki, yardies gangs notorious for their involvement in gun crime and the illegal drug trade, notably marijuana and crack cocaine in the United Kingdom. In 1993, Yardies were blamed for the murder of Police Constable Patrick Dunne, shot dead while patrolling in Clapham.
British police are hesitant to categorize Yardie gangs as organized crime, since there appears to be no real structure or central leadership. Gang affiliations can be described as loose at best. Neither have yardies made any attempts at setting up fronts for their illegal activities, nor any serious attempts to corrupt and infiltrate law enforcement organizations.

  73. tsgh says:

Negredo just went past the BFG like a seen from ‘the only fool and horse’… shocking… a panzer is faster than Merta…lol

  74. tsgh says:

End of first half… very high level game.

It’s reassuring watching the ideal midfield 3 of Arteta, JW and Ramsey bossing Fernandinho, Silva and Yaya…

We play better without SC19, Poldi and JW10 in the same line up…

Its as reminiscent and toothless as a front 2 of Kanu and DB10 with Wiltord on the wings with no Pires, TH14 or Ljunberg…

  75. allezkev says:

Good to see the good guys winning…

Hayden on the bench, now I am pleased about that.
    Another talented English kid…

Perez is an interesting one, and Zelamen again involved.
I tell ya, that kid is gonna feature in EPL & CL games.

  76. Judge me in May says:

Wow… We actually giving the petrodollar mancs a run for their own money..
Kosa on this form must be the best defender in the world.. Shame he has to partner Merts..
He is really not good enough..
I doubted him since his awkward fall off the ball at Newcastle in his first season..
All worrying signs that Wenger would think he doesn’t need any new recruits..
    COYGS..

  77. agirlagunner says:

Kozzer has really raised his game, hasn’t he?? I tend to like Les Froggies so he and Giroud are currently my faves. 😳

Heck, I liked Clichy, after all. Eeeek.

    Hiya, emma, judge, SYG. 🙂

  78. tsgh says:

Hi Emma, the BFG is running on cooking oil not diesel.lol

You are right Man City are playing well we just look very efficient with Podi playing much better than last weekend.

Please, do not shot me down… I am not saying we do not need signings… we could still lose the game after all the chances.

  79. allezkev says:

Agag, how are you enjoying lazing about at home???

It can become addictive, you’ll end up like me… 😉

Yardies originate from Jamaica, but obviously they found London a far better place to practice their specialities…
Think Yardie and you see Triad/Mafiosi i suppose Agag…

    Delightful people…

  80. tsgh says:

Dna, Fernandinho is a player no doubt but our midfield do not look out of place… this is their best squad remember.

Rico’s best player at Montpellier Cabella killed the oilers PSg yesterday even at 1 man down…

  81. agirlagunner says:

Kev, I agree. No need to wake up early or worry about deadlines. 🙂 Shopping is on hold, of course. That’s the only downside, really. 😀 Oh, and make sure to steer clear of Yardies, then. 🙂

  82. Judge me in May says:

What a goal from rambo… Excellent movement..
We certainly not getting any new recruits..
    Girouuuuuuud….., 3/0

  83. tsgh says:

    What a goal by Agag’s crush.. OG12.

Agag, someone tells me you quit your job to stalk OG12 in Japan… 😛

  84. agirlagunner says:

Let’s hope he carries his scoring form into the coming season.

Hart beaten four times. Well, good luck to England at intersnooze.

  85. ktr7 says:

I said it last week.Ramsey is going to be the 1st midfielder on the teamsheet this season barring any injury.am so happy for him.

  86. agirlagunner says:

emma, AWshould do the right thing and use part of that multi-million warchest!. We definitely need reinforcemnt, and vdW is easily within our price range.

  87. W.A.T.H says:

Prob is AGAG my 4:23 will ring true, we will now have to put up with listening to Wenger telling us how good we are just cos we won a pre-season friendly that was in essence a pretty even game, yes we played pretty well but so did they and they created far more chances than we did, we still need the quality signings simple as that.

  88. emma says:

Rambo with another class act performance. Perez impressive in the DM role. Kos always the boss but allowed Negredo thru on goal. On match day I know he would have brought him down. Giroud is up for it this season.

  89. Wavy says:

Isn’t vdW covered in tats? Not a good look! Fair full back though.
Ramsey always knew he would come good, always rated him, just kept my own counsel! Pray he doesn’t get injured he and Arteta will rule this year. You heard it here first!!

Back to Suarez, we do need him or someone like him to finish off all the good approach work we play but he is not essential imo. We have a very good squad although we are still a bit short on depth. Same old, same old.

Good win today shame it wasn’t the 39th game of theEpl!

  90. tsgh says:

Poldi was promising in the lone striker role.

I guess more more outing for Perez then hopefully a £3m bid will be accepted by nacional… 😉

  91. W.A.T.H says:

specs won’t matter if you can’t count cos apparently they do a buy 2 get one free deal as well Emma…! 😀

It was a decent game Rico, we scored three very good goals but 3-1 was still flattering in my view but apparently I watched a different game to others…!

  92. Gtid says:

It’s amazing what we can do anytime we’re termed an underdog..btw we still need players to keep us till th end of the season

  93. tsgh says:

    evening Rico,

Dna, Jovetic is a very good player just not the marquee signing some fans thought he would be… very injury prone too…

  94. ktr7 says:

Boo agag my dear.hope you are well.

ts i enjoyed it.Ramsey is going to be a beast this season and deserves his place in the team.1st choice midfielder imo.

As i’ve predicted wenger will groom wilshere for the role at the tip of midfield but he isn’t going to play as a classic AM.with cazorla drifting in and hopefully suarez he doesn’t really have to push high up with those 2 in the team.he can drop deep and pick up the ball.what he needs to work on is to have some subtlety to his dribbling.this will allow him to better control his dribbles avoiding overrunning the ball as he tends to do when he ends up running into players or inviting bad challenges.he needs to use less power and more finesse to his dribbles imo.he should watch iniesta and messi for example.if he can control his dribbles he can be able to have time to pick out a teammate in the final 3rd without having to rush a pass which results in an overhit/underhit pass.

  95. W.A.T.H says:

Negredo is a player Ts, caused us probs the whole game, when he settles he’ll be a big player for them, him and Aguero could be top notch…!

  96. tsgh says:

AW is the master of wengerball… he always beats his imitators like klopp and Pelligrini; the same way AW will lose to the cowboy tactics of Jose….

  97. tsgh says:

Mr WATH, I have always maintained that of all the players who have moved the only player I regret us not getting is Negredo… the rest will have good days but Negredo is what we were missing imho… cheap as chips too…

  98. emma says:

wath – hey i should have know that 😉

With the exception of the goal they scored. I never remembered fabianski making any save in the second half. I must be hallucinating then 😉
We had a trialist and a 16 year old in the midfield playing with the seniors for the first/2nd time respectively and they shore the 18yard box impressively.
Just hope that we make that 2/3 signings before the window closes

  99. rico says:

Thanks Wath, why am I not surprised 😉

Hope 3-1 doesn’t mean AW keeps the lid on the transfer kitty….

  100. tsgh says:

I would say that JW played his best tactical game in Arsenal jersey… forget the game against Barca; he was very efficient today. he kept his shape and sat in between Yaya and Fenardinho and allowed Ramsey to do the boy bad Gattuso moves… He played like Hagi of Romania the left footed legend today…

KT- I have always said before last year that Ramsey is a talented boy; his tactical awareness is on the level of Scholes imho… he needs to keep working at it.

  101. agirlagunner says:

Relax, WATH. There is time yet. AW can still surprise us, you know. 😉

emma, Citeh largely looked like AFC, that is to say we held on to the ball but were toothless up top.

Kt, I am okay. You good?

Hiya, rico!! We were actually quite good. Looked dangerous on the counter, and our strikers took their chances. 🙂

  102. emma says:

Watch coq for freiburg. Got himself injured flying into tackles and was replaced after 45mins. Kid still got a long way to go, it looks like his career with arsenal is over

  103. emma says:

Money on Negredo is much but well spent. Negredo is made for the PL. His movement, speed of thought etc was impressive. He is one to watch out for this season

  104. tsgh says:

Emma, I never understood why Arsenal fans rated Le Coq… even when he was fit, AW played Frimps instead of him for crucial games e.g Udinese home and away. He only played at Old toilette because Frimps was suspended and we lost 8-2; he is not a DM period but hey…

He would have been a top notch RB if he kept his head down imho…

  105. rico says:

Only quite good agag, that’s not good enough 😉

Most reports suggest the score-line was flattering….

  106. stevepalmer1 says:

word is that an offer of 15 mill has gone into Beyern Munich for holding midf Luis Gastavo 26 yr old Brazilian.

  107. tsgh says:

Rumours alight in Ghana is that Udinese midfielder Agueman Badu is in London to discuss a move to either us or Udinese… He has a very good engine.

  108. agirlagunner says:

Haha, rico. The press are just so anti-Arsenal. These are the same people who made much of our failure to win the Emirates Cup. Now that we have won against a strong Citeh side, they cannot even give us any credit. We were really disciplined though; Citeh were going for goal, but without any real venom. Not a perfect game, by any means, but a great result nonetheless.

I still want Suarez. 😉 I’m sure AW does, too. 😀

  109. emma says:

tsgh – I quite agree on the RB and that’s why Wenger has shown him the door. He still has a lot to learn. He was so out of position in the 45mins vs Leverkusen before he got injured

  110. Canadian Gooner says:

Good Evening to the Lady of the House and all fellow Gooners in residence.

The natives on here were a bit testy before the kick-off, but our great result has lifted most everyone’s spirits I see.

Sister AGAG – How is everthing with our Lady of Leisure in the Islands?

Lee – I was surprised to see you labelled a Wengerite. That appellation is more deserving of Sir Steve or myself.

  111. W.A.T.H says:

Seems we have bought Perez, 70% holding….! how that works god only knows….! Gustavo will please Ts lol

  112. tsgh says:

    Hi Cg,

… even the pragmatic Kev was flirting with the other side this morning… Please sign some players we do not want to lose kev… lol

  113. stevepalmer1 says:

From us supposedly, and the player is saying he’s a fan of ours and has been watching us very closely. also wants to play in the Premier. Dont they all 🙂

  114. S2S says:

    Hey you all,

Did you really think Perez was like MA08? I thought he was naive and out of place many times but that was due to Zel as well. His off the ball movement leaves a lot to desire and others have to work a lot harder due to that. But I thought Perez was ok to below par.

Btw, as much as I like Rambo, I thought best player today was TW14. That ball for 3rd goal was awesome and also for 2nd goal.

Btw, I hope Ox starts to get the ball below his feet when he starts to dribble. He just doesn’t look there yet. But I hope by the time this season ends, he’s there.

P.S. Does anyone else think if we should inquire about Kun Aguero?

  115. S2S says:

Btw, I really liked Jovetic. Would have been great to have him but he doesn’t look to me like a striker, more of a winger than a striker.

  116. rico says:

Hi Cg, i’m not surprised re the ‘natives’ – things need to move, we need to sign 3 top players.

A 3-2 victory over City means very little to me personally, repeat that when it matters and things might be different….

But friendlies are just that, friendlies…..

  117. S2S says:

    Rico,

In all we have gathered about 15M from all the sales and addons. I guess we’d spend that money on one player, who only AW/IG knows.

  118. rico says:

I was think AW would know where to deposit that £15 m rather than spend it S2S

Song Ts, now you must be having a laugh…? Please tell me you are…

  119. Gonerjoe says:

    Hi
I will enjoy the win for what it is a good pre-season game the fact is we played well. Also by the end of the season what will Theo be worth if bale is worth 85m after one season. Just have a look at Theo’s stats over the last 2 seasons. Much better than Bales

  120. ktr7 says:

I get the feeling the Ox will really explode one day similar to bale.he just needs to flip that switch…

  121. tsgh says:

Last season Man city beat us 3-0 around this time in the far east. Its not a bad result… some folks can’t seem to just enjoy a win anymore…

  122. tsgh says:

Rico, Rumeinger said the player wants to move to a CL team instead even though Wolfsburg have a bid accepted. I think it is a case of us bidding less than Wolfsburg but the player does not want to move because of Arsene and CL…

  123. Gonerjoe says:

    Rico
I thought it was Wolfsburg had made a bid not seen any where that he wanted to go. Your right coming from Metro it’s not a tip You would want to put your life savings on.

  124. rico says:

S2S – please please, none of the ‘calm down’ stuff…. I have my views and concerns and until something changes, it won’t change…

After all, I’m not asking you to change your view am I?

  125. allezkev says:

A good result, but as I didn’t see the game, I cannot comment on how the team looked…

What worries me now, is that Wenger will use this result as a reason for not strengthening.

    That imho, would be folly…

There is a long long season ahead of us.

Many twists and turns and injuries.

So we need a couple more bodies…

The Bayern player sounds good and the Dutch full-back likewise

We simply have to sign a top top striker.

If not Suarez, then test Dortmund with a £25million bid for Lewandowski. Go up to £35m, £40m even that’s what you have to pay for such quality…

    Try out £50million for Suarez…..

A player who can finish off all the approach work could be the difference between 3rd and 1st….

  126. rico says:

That’s what I thought too Gjoe… And no, I wouldn’t put a penny on one of their stories, let alone my life savings….

Mind you, those two aren’t far apart 😉

  127. S2S says:

    Rico,

Sorry. But you got to watch Theo’s performance.Especially, the one for the third goal. Awesome awesome ball.

  128. Gonerjoe says:

In the old days it was the worth of the player to the team not how much money he’s worth f$uk it I’ve become an accountant.

  129. Canadian Gooner says:

Rico – I think most, if not everyone, on here regularly agrees we could do with signing two to four good players. No argument there. Where some of us differ is in our confidence in the current team and if Arsene will buy what we need to step-up to the next level and be true contenders.

I’m one of those who is more optimistic about that happening, but I can understand where the gloomier of our House residents are coming from. The whole situation reminds me of the Rolling Stones song line – “You can’t always get what you want, but if you try real hard you’ll get what you need.” The signings may not be all the big names we want, but may well do the job we need tham to. I just hope they get the chance to prove themselves before the Boo Boys kick in loudly.

  130. rico says:

S2S – that’s fine, but it will take more than just one or two magic moments from any player to convince me that we are ready to challenge the top sides……

  131. tsgh says:

A top player i.e striker is needed in crucial cagey games as you say kev…. a few more match winners like Suarez or Wooney or even Lewandowski.

We lack big game players apart from the 3 or 4 that we have.

Kheidira is not really playing now is he more expensive than Gustavo? Maybe AW just wants a MA08 deputy…

Even though I always defend Theo on here saying he is a big game player Rico still thinks I dislike Walnut! 😉

  132. rico says:

Cg – I understand all that but, those with confidence in AW to sign players are entitled to their view, just as those who believe that too many summers of empty promises, could mean yet another this summer…

Those who believe aren’t accused of being AKB’s on here, but those who don’t are simply dismissed and being negative etc etc etc…

We were promised early signings and good ones.

    Where are they??

  133. Canadian Gooner says:

    Ginge – Re: Your 6:17 p.m. post

It disturbs me when long term supporters such as Kev are so negative about the club, but I understand their concerns based on the club’s recent history. I can’t say he is wrong, time will tell; but like you, I’m more optomistic about our current team and doing some good business before the window closes. The Gustavo story, if true, would be a good start. I was hoping for Gundogan though.

  134. rico says:

I’m good thanks agag, tired… Day out was good too thanks…

    How’s you?

Nice to see the Dippers lose to Celtics young side 😉

  135. ktr7 says:

I saw it ts.If Moyes doesn’t start winning soon #Moyesout will start trending on twitter.

I watched Bayern vs Monchengladbach too last night.Ribery and Ter Stegen were very good and you can see why barca are so keen on him to replace valdez.bayern looked good going forward but a bit shaky at the back.if they gell they’ll be scary to play against.

  136. tsgh says:

Gundogan was needed for last season as I suggested when I was not sure how often Ramsey will be used due to the abuse he suffered from some fans and the fitness of Dhabi… but I think with JW, Ramsey, Zalelem ,Ox and possibly Frimps available we need an experienced head to alternate between MA08 in my view…

  137. Canadian Gooner says:

Rico – You could just as easily reverse that argument. However, I don’t accept that I am being dismissive of those who hold the more negative views. I have endevoured to keep my discussions with other residents civil and respectful, though we all slip at times. I understand why they hold those views. I just don’t agree with their conclusions. Also, You pose questions I wish I had definitive answers to. At the moment your conclusions/guesses would be as good as mine.

After the first 6 to 8 weeks of the new season I’ll be more than willing to stand before the residnts and take my lumps, if that is what is called for. I would expect the same from the ‘other side’ if that is applicable.

  138. tsgh says:

Kt- did you think bayern have become too reliant on the diver Robben and the nasty Muller? You can’t forget Ribery either…

  139. agirlagunner says:

CG, it really is the club’s fault that supporters have turned cyncial. It is within their power to change all that, too. 😉 Now, let’s get Suarez, vdW and some German in. Come on, AW. Come, on!!

emma, Suarez still has time to narrate his sob stories to the media. Come on, Luis!!

  140. agirlagunner says:

rico, good to hear. Your boy Walnut had a foot on all three goals. Let’s hope his form continues. 🙂

KT and ginge, Muller is very effective at needling opposition. But I hate the whinger!

  141. Canadian Gooner says:

Sister AGAG – I am well and be winding up here soon. My older son is hosting his annual family barbecue and I’ll be off to see the granchildren, who at 16 months change so quickly week to week.

  142. emma says:

Wenger on ending pre-season with victory

Arsène Wenger spoke to the media after Arsenal defeated Manchester City 3-1 in their final game of pre-season in Helsinki on Saturday afternoon. Here is a transcript of what the boss had to say:

    on the win…
It was a game of good intensity with two teams who were really putting all the effort on. We had a good tactical discipline. I’m pleased with many aspects of our game, even if there are some points to work on. Overall it’s positive tactically [and] attitude-wise. We scored goals, created chances and were always highly focused. That’s good.

    on a confidence boost…
Certainly it will lift our confidence. You have always to find a good balance between confidence and urgency level and I think we will because this team has a good attitude. We lose now the players who go on international duty and come back only on Thursday so it will be very short from Thursday to Saturday to prepare or our first game. We have big games in front of us because we play of course Aston Villa at home and then in the Champions League so it’s important that we don’t lose players now.

    on Wilshere…
I decided before the game to play him only 45 minutes because I want to build him up step by step and because he will go with the national team when England plays against Scotland on Wednesday night. That as well will be a very committed game.

on if Wilshere will link up with England…
    Yes.

on the support of the fans in Finland…
Look I’m quite amazed how popular we are here. It’s a very good feeling. I like to see the stands in red and white. I would like to thank all the fans who turned up today and supported our team and I’m happy that we could give them a positive feeling and that they go home happy. It’s great to see how popular our club is here.

    on Jenkinson’s reception…
He has a very strong link with the country and you expect that, especially when people [have] Finnish [heritage] and love Arsenal – you expect a good reception for Jenkinson.

on if the team will return to Finland…
I would love to. We enjoyed coming here and playing in such an atmosphere on such a fantastic pitch with a great support. It was a quality game. Our opponent was very good as well. I would sign to come back.

on if he’s happy with the strikers he’s got…
I think what is important is the strength of the squad. Today is one game. We want to play 55 games and we are maybe a bit thin squad-wise to go through a whole season.

    on pre-season as a whole…
I’m an optimist. That’s why I do this job. Overall I think we finished the season well. In the last 10 games We had eight wins and two draws and we kept the squad together for the first time [for a number of years]. We didn’t lose any regular players so that makes me very positive for the new season.

  143. rico says:

But haven’t you come on here Cg and said you are going because of so many ‘negative’ comments?

HH is all about freedom of speech, I respect your view and I wouldn’t dream of suggesting I am off because the site is full of AKB’s…

It’s bound to be edgy right now because of so many years of empty promises etc.

I really hope and pray that finally this summer is the one but the longer this all goes on, fans are going to get more and more concerned about our season..

I want to be left eating humble pie when AW signs 4 top players but until it happens, I’m sorry, but I can’t get too excited at the thought of another season like last….

We have sold so so many players which is good, but if we don’t sign 3/4 replacements, all those sales have done is put more pressure on the players left….

  144. Canadian Gooner says:

ktr7 – I agree with your 5:40 p.m. regarding Wilshere. I think he is just glad to fit and is trying to impress on his return. I think he and the coaching staff will get things sorted out and we will see the true extent of his talent this season.

  145. emma says:

Thank God wenger recognises this: “I think what is important is the strength of the squad. Today is one game. We want to play 55 games and we are maybe a bit thin squad-wise to go through a whole season.”

  146. tsgh says:

on if he’s happy with the strikers he’s got…
I think what is important is the strength of the squad. Today is one game. We want to play 55 games and we are maybe a bit thin squad-wise to go through a whole season.

    on pre-season as a whole…

    Will this paragraph make headlines?

  147. agirlagunner says:

CG, have a good day. 🙂 🙂 Does your son have twins? 🙂 🙂 Make sure they’re Gunners. 😉

emma,”a bit thin” is quite the understatement. 😉 Haha. I’d be horrified if no one is brought in.

ginge, yeah, Poldi really has to start scoring.

  148. rico says:

Well that comment has cheered me up a bit Ts, now let’s see him back it up..

Then even I will stop moaning 😉

  149. tsgh says:

Agag its not just him scoring… he looks like a player just happy to be playing for Arsenal and nothing else… He will lose his place in the Krauts squad at this rate.

  150. ktr7 says:

Cg lets he sorts this out.if he does it will be really nice to have the #Britishcore lead us to great things.

Ts Ribery is the best Bayern player hands down.if he gets injured they’ll not be as good but they have Robben who can step up.thats the sort of depth we need to really challenge.

if we get suarez and santi gets back to full fitness we’ll be able to pin teams back with the ball in addition to having penetration from the aforementioned 2 with rosicky/jack in support.

  151. rico says:

    I will agag 🙂

🙂 emma. Enough talk from the men in charge now though, now we all need some action….

  152. Canadian Gooner says:

Rico – Some days it was getting toxic on here and that is not meant as a crticism of you. I chose not to stay as some posters were saying things in the heat of the momement they may/would regret.

When posters let their emotions cloud their judgement it is difficult to have a rational discussion. I enjoy some of the reparte with the likes of Adam because they challenge you and make you think about your own reasoning and conclusions. However, I’m not interested in getting into a slanging match like some schoolyard arguement.

I seem to have offended you and that was not my intention.

The Krauts will still have him, ginge, but he won’t be a starter. Maybe, it’s a confidence issue with him; not to mention that he’s only just returning to full match fitness; whatever his injury last season may have been.

  154. Canadian Gooner says:

AGAG – Yes fraternal twins, a girl and a boy. Both will be raised as Young Gunners.

My younger son and his wife are expecting their first child in September.

  155. ktr7 says:

Poldi is quite poor at the moment.Bar the odd cannon of a shot he offers next to nothing.Gerv was frustrating but one of the main reasons Wenger played him in the middle was his excellent movement.he had quite a variety of movements that made him a nuisance to play against.if poldi had that he would be so much better in the middle.at the moment even Ox offers more and if he doesn’t improve Draxler will kick him out of the National team soon.

  156. rico says:

I think some fans just like somewhere to let off emotions, it’s better they do that on a footie blog than anywhere else. 😉

  157. rico says:

It’s on afc.com soon I think agag, I’ll watch it there, the last time I watched a link, my laptop ended up at the menders with a virus… 🙁

No streams for me this season….

  158. Canadian Gooner says:

Well time to get packed and ready for my trip to the family barbecue.

Lee – A belated Happy Birthday. I wasn’t in residence the other day.

Bradster – A Happy Birthday to you. I hope you enjoyed your 3-1 present from the team. It’s my turn on Monday.

Good Night All – Keep the Faith!

  159. rico says:

Kt, second season make or break for Podolski I think, and we all saw what happened to Gerv after his second season was poor…

I’d like to think a player with so many caps for Germany will step his game up….

  160. ktr7 says:

According to the metro Arsenal are expecting progress on Suarez in the next few days and are set to offer him £160k a week in wages…

  161. rico says:

I’m glad you do Cg, just because we all differ in views every now and again, doesn’t mean we don’t respect each other…

    Blame Arsenal 😉

Have a wonderful time with your family…. Catch up soon…

  162. ktr7 says:

The Gustavo rumours are also picking up the pace too.that move would surprise me but we need more bodies in midfield…

  163. agirlagunner says:

rico, make sure you buy a good anti-virus program. My laptop got infected last year because I was too cheap to renew my annual subscription. Haha.

I know Gerv has many fans here, but he had so little end product. All the flash means nothing if you don’t have substance. 😀

Twins! Double trouble! 😀 Can’t have them supporting the wrong club, CG. Make sure nobody gives them any other kit. 🙂

  164. rico says:

Kt, according to other reports, personal terms with Suarez have already been agreed, now it’s all about Liverpool selling, which they maintain they won’t.

Just hope all our eggs are not in this one basket and it goes per shaped…

I still wonder whether we’d be better off trying to get Rooney/Lewandowski

  165. rico says:

Kt, that Metro report is false…

I have one agag, I think it was me pressing the wrong ‘exit x’ 🙁

  166. rico says:

Giroud 3rd was pretty good too, who played the ball to him just before he slipped over? I can’t tell on the highlights 😉

  167. agirlagunner says:

Oh, you got one of those doppelgangerish viruses. the ones that imitate the look of the legit programs. 🙁 🙁

rico, your boy Theo, of course. A very composed performance. 🙂 may it be a sign of things to come. 😀

  168. ktr7 says:

Some bloke on twitter that i really trust rico.he has been spot on with our transfers and team news for over a year now.he is the only reliable guy i know.

  169. rico says:

    Night Ts..

🙂 agag, I really hope this season he proves all his critics wrong, we saw a much better performance last season but he still faded in the second half and his goals dropped..

He’s well overdue a big season with much more consistency. Giroud is looking better to in pre-season but he really needs to start burying a few more of his chances…

A top class striker could be just what is needed to push his game on and we really lack a clinical striker in front of goal..

  170. rico says:

Interesting then Kt, – is he any good? I know he was part of the winning Con Fed Cup side but would he suit the PL in your opinion?

  171. agirlagunner says:

Good night, guys. 🙂 🙂 Fun talking.

Giroud “scored” a second, rico. Offside, shame.

And 8 goals out of 6 games in pre-season ain’t bad. 😛 At the rate he’s going, he’ll get the Golden Boot. 🙂 🙂 Hah!

  172. ktr7 says:

Am not a fan of specialist DMs to be honest but he would have no trouble adjusting to the PL and would allow us to be more tactically flexible.he would be very useful in top matches against the really best players where he really shines through.the season before last he dispossessed Ronaldo 7 times when they met in the CL semis neutralising him very effectively.in such games against marquee players he will be very useful imo if he comes.

  173. rico says:

    Night agag, sleep well….

But we are one of those 4 Lee 😉

So a good player IF we were to sign him then, let’s see it happen though….

  174. Scott from Oz says:

GJ, i am glad for the kid and the team.
It is only pre season, but it is 100 times better than losing 3-1.
    Very happy today.

  175. Gonerjoe says:

I am to when you see the crap he’s had to put up with over the years since he came back from he’s assault at Stoke.
Must of that came from so called Arsenal fans also I think Diaby gets the same rough time as been injured is something he looks forward to.

  176. Scott from Oz says:

Mmm, our own supporters failing to support a kid that had a leg broken whilst wearing the shirt was disappointing to say the least.
Diaby….how i would love to see him get one decent season….for him and the club.

  177. Scott from Oz says:

    Went to bed.
I have had a big week and as the game wasn’t televised here decided that a game at that hour was not going to be watched on a stream lol.
    Saving up for next week.
We have done a deal with a Pub in Sydney to show all Arsenal games live, and even offer our own beer, a unique recipe, on tap for Gooners only.
It is going to be massive.

  178. Gonerjoe says:

That sounds like fun I live in Wicklow town in Ireland we have an pub that shows most or all the Arsenal games. Going to see the Villa game at the Grove next weekend.

  179. tsgh says:

The dippers can’t even beat Celtic.lol
No disrespect to any Celtic fans btw…
Cardiff have signed arguably one of the finest DM in La liga I.e Medel

  180. Scott from Oz says:

GJ, i will come and have a beer with you in April/May next year.
My missus has family in Ireland and we are invading.
    Ginge, poor old Liverpool 🙂

  181. Gonerjoe says:

Does anyone know why dippers fans at so upset at Arsenal for bidding for Suarez. What I can remember about RVP last summer I was a lot more upset at RVP than at Manu.

  182. Scott from Oz says:

Definitely getting to The Emirates mate, and hoping to catch an away game.
I am hoping to catch up with a few HHers when over there.

  183. Gonerjoe says:

I will try and get over for that grove game as well if you work it right you could get a mid week CL semi-final for Emirates game that would be nice.

  184. Gonerjoe says:

It’s the start of the season every fan of every club should believe that their club is going to win every thing they enter.

  185. Scott from Oz says:

I reckon ee are a great chance of winning the league this season, especially after our new signings come in:)

  186. Scott from Oz says:

Good chatting guys buti am off…Sean is playing today so heading out.
    Cheers…catch you all tomorrow.

  187. Gonerjoe says:

British press going mad on Gustavo midfielder from Munich who knows. Would like some new players for the first round of the CL. From what I understand they have to be in some time on Monday.

  188. W.A.T.H says:

Careful of that goose label stuff Scott it bites you in the arse…!

Hope Sean does well enjoy your day mate.

Gustavo would be a decent addition I suppose and also hearing Sakho is leaving PSG, that will excite Rico she has always wanted us to buy him and he’s a good strong versatile defender. Those two and Suarez and I think we’d be a proper winger short and thats about it..!

  189. Gonerjoe says:

    WATH
I think Suarez would give the players a big lift this season never mind the fans. We could do with a centre half not sure who may well be only 4th chose anyway.
Scott have good day hope the your son enjoys himself at the game.
    Night all

  190. W.A.T.H says:

Agree Joe, the players all been saying they want quality additions so we all know it would give team and the club a huge lift to buy top top quality players…! Anyway we shall see.

    Night…!

  191. tsgh says:

    Hi Rico…

I wonder where Stan fits into the equation being a yank and all…

I may need to dust off my algebra textbook to work it out…

  192. rico says:

Hi Ts, best I read the article. If it’s ‘all americans together’ – I hope they all leave the PL.

  193. stevepalmer1 says:

Morning all, funny how they can say that they wont let their players go to london but they aint bothered by taking them from London. The trouble is is that the biggest transfer deal of Bale and the spuds has hit the headlines and now clubs with good players have only been offered 30 to 40 mill for their products. Seems to me that both these players will get sold Once Bale is out of the headlines maybe not this window but when they can raise the price up again, or maybe i’m wrong and the deals have already been done, not long now to find out 🙂

  194. stevepalmer1 says:

American Russians Arabs and Chineese billionares, wheres the poor Englishman going to earn a living. But then again were all lazy B’s
