Two new kids on the block?

Morning all.

The Under 18’s need a new coach after Kampala ditched them for the warmer climate of Monaco. The prospect of a new challenge together with the opportunity to work alongside Thierry Henry was clearly too good to turn down. Darn him! Seriously, who can blame him really?

As the saying goes, when one door closes, another opens but in this case, that open door is for someone else to walk through. Maybe that person will be an Arsenal favourite.

These international breaks seem to get longer. Either that or I’m just missing Arsenal again. If it’s the latter then great because that’s not been the case for a while.

We’ve got another week to go yet though before the boys are back in action. A Monday night home fixture against Leicester. Ozil is expected to be fit for that one after recovering from his back problem. Welbeck too having been withdrawn from the England squad with a minor hamstring injury. Cech could also be fit for that match but I’m hoping not. Sounds cruel but I’m hoping Leno continues in goal for a long time yet. Maitland-Niles is back in training but my guess is he’ll not be ready for the upcoming fixture whilst the other two, Mavropanos and Koscielny remain absent for a while longer yet. So the injury list is is down to two really but even they are back training so alls good in that department.

See, that’s another new thing for us as normally our injury list starts to grow around this time of the season, not shrink. All’s good in Emery’s world, Arsenal’s too. More or less anyway. Just need to improve our defending and bobs your uncle. Well, kind of.

Strictly is back on our screens, the upcoming I’m a Celebrity contestant names are hitting the newspapers so we know that just around the corner is not only Christmas, but the transfer window. Yet again the media darlings think they know everything by spreading rumours. Nasty ones like Unai Emery won’t be signing anyone in January but what do they know? Little to nothing in my opinion and I’ve just seen ‘little’ floating down my patio where it’s flooding.

Two names have popped up, both identified by old diamond eyes Sven Mislintat. Ismailia Sarr and Kal Havertz. Sarr is a 20 year old winger at Rennes, Havertz, a 19 year old midfield who already has one cap for Germany and currently plays for Bayern Leverkusen.

Both are hot property though so if Arsenal want them, they’ll need to be quick. We can do quick these days can’t we?

Something else new at Arsenal.

Good morning Rico, you have just broken two of my taboos. Mentioning C*******s before the 1st December and the worst programme on BBC television, what’s more you did it in one sentence.

Shame on you! Now I shall have to go for a restorative mug of coffee.

Rico I’ve just re-read the post and found another word anathema to me…..and in the same sentence C*******y. Horror upon horror! Coffee won’t do it, it’ll have to be large gin and tonic. 😉

I’m a celebrity , Big Brother and the spin offs are just voyeur television to attract the masses kind of like click bait. The voice and X factor have a degree of entertainment but the panels ae more important than the acts.
    Watched once and not again.
However Keown as coach is not a bad idea but with youths ?
We discussed ex players as teachers a few days ago , Perhaps Sol might like to cut his teeth although I think his personal horizons are too high and I am not sure that he would want to. Winterburn always sounds knowledgable on the radio and seems very level headed but often the ones that shine when passing on experience are the ones that struggled to get to the very top .
Most of our squad players under Wenger were not English so getting them back to coach at under 23 will be difficult if not expensive . We would need someone who lived and breathed the club and I am not sure that since money came into football that there are too many of them available.
The likes of George Armstrong don’t grow on trees.

We could always get Ray Parlour in to teach the delights of The Tolly, Barn , Kings Head and Auld Triangle ( nee Plimsol ) and with Merson as guest appearence Ladbrokes and Paddy Power could get to sponsor their shirts.

At least Keown might teach them the art of defending, Adams too.

I’d certainly like to see an ex Arsenal man get the job, get the meaning of the club back into the players whilst their young.

    Morning all.
It’s be fantastic to see an Arsenal old boy in charge of the kids.
Hopefully, Instill in them what it means to wear the shirt.
Pride over money-wouldn’t that be refreshing?
