£100k for Keeper! Dodgy October into Nasty November as many expect an away win!

Morning all.

Just a bit of gossip regarding Szczesny – The Sun newspaper report that he has signed a new deal at Arsenal worth £100,000 a week.

No wonder he’s been playing well……

Tough today? I think so.

In fact most pundits, sports writers etc, think it’s so tough, we aren’t even going to pick up a point today! It seems the deadly duo that many believe is Sturridge and Suarez, will be far too much for our defence to handle.

Maybe their view is somewhat hampered by history as November has so often be a wretched for us as far as results have gone.

Head-to-head

  • Four of the last six league meetings in north London have ended in draws, with one win apiece. Arsenal scored twice inside three minutes through Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott to earn a draw from 2-0 down in the corresponding fixture last January.
  • Liverpool’s only win in their last 12 league games against Arsenal came at the Emirates Stadium in August 2011. An Aaron Ramsey own goal and Luis Suarez strike gave Liverpool their only win at Arsenal in the last 13 years.
  • This is the 215th meeting between the clubs in all competitions. Liverpool lead by 82 wins to Arsenal’s 76.

Arsenal

  • The Gunners have earned 22 points out of the last available 24.
  • They are the only team to score in each of their Premier League matches this season.
  • Arsene Wenger’s side have taken the lead in eight of their nine league fixtures, the best record in the division.
  • November is Arsenal’s least productive month in Premier League history – they average only 1.55 points per game.
  • Aaron Ramsey has five goals and three assists in his last six league appearances.

Pundits/football writers can harp on about how good Liverpool have started but the league tells us that we have started better.

October was a funny old month for us, a month where a few little niggles crept back into our game. We huffed and puffed a bit against Norwich but held on until their legs gave in a little and we came out 4-1 victors thanks to a late flurry of goals. Crystal Palace was another strange one but despite going down to ten men and the home side having a lot more possession, we fought out a 2-0 victory.

Somewhere in between or after those two results, we fell foul of two home defeats against two sides who played in a very similar way. They both nullified most things we had to offer, bided their time and then caught us out either on the break or by a moment of laziness, inept marking or just a careless mistake made by one of our players.

In fact one careless mistake gifted both Chelsea and Dortmund their opening goals!

It’s time to put those mistakes to bed and never to repeat them…..

Mikel Arteta is back for this game and he really needs to be our midfield rock. He needs to stop everything that Liverpool try to play through our midfield. Of course he won’t be able to do that alone and others need to be aware and get back to help if the game goes that way.

Defend first and let the others do the rest!

Liverpool might have a few classy players in Courtinho and Suarez, a few very good players like Gerrard, Sakho, Moses, Mignolet and… err, that’s about it!

But we have Ozil, Giroud, Ramsey, Wilshere, Koscielny, Rosicky, Szczesny, Mertesacker, Monreal, Gibbs, Sagna, Cazorla……

Get my point?

Overall, I truly believe that we have a much stronger first 11/14 players and if they are all on form and up for this game, there will be only one winner.

Every player needs to know their role today and focus on that role first and foremost. No more getting caught out on the break because our defenders have suddenly decided that they are attackers, that won’t win the game. Pace, width, drive and passion to succeed will!

It might be tough, but it’s one we must win and can win if the players give their all!

Let’s make this November one to remember for all the right reasons, starting today!

And let’s get The Emirates rocking again……

That’s your lot for today…..

    morning Rico and all
    nice upbeat pre-match post.
if only we keep our discipline & every player sticks to his task,
victory is gonna come our way..
cut our recent mistakes out and we are a force to reckon with.
i say roll on the dippers.

  2. stevepalmer1 says:

Morning all, Dare we play our first eleven today, or do we play our reserves, don’t want our best players getting injured do we.

  3. tsgh says:

A very upbeat post.A shame your buddy Theo is missing.A game big enough for him to relish… Lol

I am a bit concerned about the 2 v 2 at our back as the dippers will line up 3-5-2.I am hoping AW has worked on a method that will endure OG12 is not isolated 3 v 1 upfront whilst the midfield area cancel each other out…imo

Still Ozil should handle Lucas easily and Arteta should at least be able to out think Courthino if he should stay.

With bvb winning 6-1 last night a win for us should set us up for a win mid week.

Akpom should be brave an start Akpom on the rhs… He is direct and ready IMHO…

    Morning all btw…

  4. GunnerDNA says:

    Morning all.

Ts, Ramsey might have to pick the right moments to go forward, he needs to sit beside MA08 for this game, I hope AW push Ozil to left wing and use TR07 as the # 10 for this game.

    Scz
    Bac BFG Kos Gibbs
    MA08 AR
    Ozil TR07 SC
    Giroud

  5. GunnerDNA says:

AW: “I don’t know yet if we will strengthen up front in January.

“Honestly, I want to see where we stand at the end of December. We have Bendtner, Park.

“We have plenty of solutions. Even Mesut Ozil can play up front.”

  6. HenryB says:

    Hi Rico,

I have woken up with a touch of the collywobbles today, (and that’s not the girlfriend) but I am desperate for our wonderful start not to collapse into the usual November blues.

If we lose today against the club managed by that idiot Brenda after losing against Dortmund and the chavs, I can see our season unravelling, and that would be difficult to take.

On the other hand we could win and I would need plastic surgery to remove my silly grin. 🙂

Think I will go for the latter!!

  7. HenryB says:

Gunner DNA, you cannot blame AW for the quote you described at the beginning of November, as he would not want to say that our forwards are crap and I cannot wait until Jan to get some decent ones in. 🙂

  8. tsgh says:

To be honest, I am getting quite cheesed of with both AW and Ramsey. Ramsey has been given too much freedom in the team which is not doing the structure of the team any good especially coming up against teams who are set up to nullify us tactically.

I want him to go back to his tactical discipline as displayed last March and April and the first 8 or so games including preseason…

Just my view btw, but I think since JW scored recently Ramsey has become very gung ho and lost track of what made him a first team player in the first place….

Re. strengthening AW should just learn to use his whole squad instead of just playing the same 14 or 15 into the ground…

  9. TizTeezy says:

lol…. have anybody else read the probable line up for Arsenal against L’fool on football press website??? Sagna as captain…..lol. I’m hoping for three points today going to the boys from Arsenal…coyg.

  10. tsgh says:

No TT… if Sagna is captain that will mean we have no Panzer BFG nor Arteta…
we must as well just pack up and go home… lol

  11. TizTeezy says:

lol….exactly @tsgh. Personally, I would book a canoe to paddle home rather than any other means of transportation so that by the time I get home, the match would have ended and I would have been spared the blushes of watching Ramsey and Wilshere pairing in Midfield.

  12. kali says:

    afternoon all
good point Ts …who ever is chosen to do that “dark” role in front of the defence ,should remain there and respect the team’s ethics work.
no brainer we lost games when MF is not in the squad!

  13. tsgh says:

    Ha ha ha Scott… true…

It’s not quite like backing him when only a few did. lol

On a serious note though, he is still playing superbly but prefer players to put the team first instead off searching for their own limelight.

Still if I am wrong I will heed your wisdom… you were right about Scez after all.lol

  14. NashuaGunners says:

Good Read Rico and Good Afternoon to you all.

@Scott, your 1:12 pm, that’s what true gunners do especially coming from someone that truly believe in you. Tough Love they call it. 🙂

  15. tsgh says:

    Lol TT.

Kali, the whole summer I was always positive that if Ramsey maintained his tactical development he was going to be a beast in midfield…

From February onwards, Arteta and Ramsey had the best DM partnership ahead of Inler & Bahrani, Camacho & Toulalon, Beckham and Matuidi, Pogba & Pirlo,Kehl & Bender and even Martinez and Schweinsteiger helping us to have the best defensive record around that time across Europe.

I have not been pleased with his starting position in the last 3 or 4 games especially when the opposition have the ball. I am still one of his original biggest fans btw, I just think he is not at the stage where he can be given tactical freedom…

  16. BrainwashedKev says:

    Afternoon All…

I still have a hunch that either (or both) of Walcott and/or Flamini could be on the bench in Dortmund….

  17. BrainwashedKev says:

Whilst Sanogo isn’t too far away, so I read a couple of days ago.

Likewise Posolski, so Arsene Wenger could possibly have a few suprise’s in store for Dortmund and ManUre…

  18. tsgh says:

    Seleção Brasileira ‏@BrazilStats
JUST IN – Corinthians football director Roberto de Andrade when asked about #AFC & #THFC interest: “Don’t rule out selling Pato in January.”

  19. BrainwashedKev says:

Well Ginge, it’ll be good to have some fresh legs and fresh minds added to the squad…

And in November, just when we could do with a bit of a boost.

  20. tsgh says:

True Kev re new ideas, I know we must have touched on something similar about a year ago… AW needs to utilise his squad better between November and February.

There is no point in him waiting for a key player to get injured before he ‘trials’ a backup imo…

Then there is the November international break where we lose one or 2 players on international breaks.

Few seasons back we lost all our goalies and had to bring Lehman back, then we ran out of CB and Big Sol came back then LB’s and now wingers… jeez you can’t make it up even if someone tried.lol

  21. tsgh says:

Sagna is making his 250th appearance today. Well done. A true servant imo… he has proven not all foriegn players are mercenaries.
Maybe he has stayed this long because Ludivine Sagna sounds like the biggest gunner from France.lol‏

  22. rico says:

    Afternoon all…

Looks like its going to be a good result at Newcastle, now we need to make sure we make the most of it.

  23. tsgh says:

True Ng but I won’t read too much into this result imho.

If this game is played 10 times, 9 times out of the 10 games, Chelsea will win. Its just football…

Saying that Mauren-ho’s aim in football is to be better than AW and his philosophy as he also tried with Pep but failed a few times.

  24. rico says:

    Hi Ts, agag..

I hope so Ts, in the seasons gone by we’d relax too much and fail to capitalise on a defeat to a side around us, can’t afford to do that today….

agag – and overdue a top performance to go with it…

  25. kali says:

    afternoon all
dare i say i fear us having corner kicks! we were caught short a couple of times at least on the counter ..
smother them out …let’s go gunners

  26. agirlagunner says:

Yes, ginge. The fans DESERVE nothing less than a win. How dare our players lose two on the trot?! 😀 😉 I’m good. How are you?

    rico, exactly! Howdy?

    Hi, Nash.

  27. tsgh says:

Maybe a bogey team for Chelsea…

No pressure but Aw’s record against the dippers is not flawless..

    P17 W6 D7 L4 F23 A17

And considering Brenda’s team have almost always out played us, only hard work and 100% concentration will do today imo…

  28. NashuaGunners says:

    Hi agag and Rico

@Rico, he cant afford to make excuses; NC took them to the cleaners. With all the Internationals on his team sheet, how can he make excuses??

  29. Joaquim Moreira says:

Why we didn’t want Remy? It will be our second Central forward with diferente characterits of Giroud

  30. tsgh says:

Not too bad Agag, that time of the year when I am always working away and with me hating the cold and all I am not pleased but hey bills have to get paid. lol

The plan was to make my way to Hauptbahnhof by train and then watch our boys smash the yellows in their backyard re. Westfalenstadion but I am missing that too due to work.

  31. agirlagunner says:

But rico. Chelsea were pathetic today, even Mourinho could not have denied that. 😉 61% possession and nothing meaningful with it. 😀

  32. agirlagunner says:

Hello, Adam! How are you? Been a while. Are you going to the match?

Ginge, I did find cheap(ish) plane tix to NYC; weather has been lovely here. 🙂 Not too cold. Where on earth is Hauptbanhof?

  33. Micko says:

Think we’ll bounce back today, thought I heard on the radio this morning Liverpool haven’t lost away in the league since March, might have to get my hearing tested.

  34. rico says:

    Rough agag, rough 🙁

Ng, but when we have the same possession but don’t win, we are ‘unlucky’ aren’t we?

  35. Adam says:

I am shocked Rico but have no doubt he sees it as part of a greater psychological plan that he has been hatching. Certainly more subtle than gouging the opposition’s eye though.
Agag. Yes, it’s a funny time for a match so I am just having a cuppa and a slice of toast before getting ready for departure. I hope you are well.

  36. agirlagunner says:

Ginge, try to enjoy us winning at their home. I’m still without a job. I have to be practical., so I haven’t bought a single pair. 🙁 🙁 😀

rico, I don’t mind Mourinho losing. In fact, it thrills me.

  37. Micko says:

tsgh, you should try and take in a game if you can, I’ve done a couple of games over there, Bertha and Bayern, great value and beer delivered to your seat, what more can you ask for !

All the top teams winning, just gotta make sure we do, we all know Arteta likes to come deep for the ball and join in with our attacks, he has to stay back today.

  38. agirlagunner says:

Adam, I am well. We are playing at an odd time; I had touristy things planned today, but they have to be put on hold. 😉 How’s Mrs Adam?

    Hiya, Micko. 🙂

  39. Adam says:

Micko. I shall and I have already removed the hubcaps from my Reliant Robin in anticipation of the Scouse invasion. 🙂

  40. Adam says:

Agag. She is well thank you and sends her best wishes. She seems a trifle nervous about the game today though.
    Can’t think why.

  41. tsgh says:

Micko, don’t forget the sausages and curry sauce that can bring lady Rico back from meat free retirement. lol

I love the Westfalenstadion a very friendly and lively atmosphere. The last time I was there was when BVB played RM at home in the CL…

A mate of mine (gooner too btw) found himself a German wifey when he was posted in Germany and so gets the odd tickets from her family; being the scrounger that I am, I use that to my advantage. 😛

  42. Adam says:

I like the salt ‘n pepper hair of Pardew. 🙂 I think it gives a man great distinction Rico.
As for Remy? Yes, obviously we must have him too. Mind you, I would prefer Costa myself.

  43. rico says:

No thank you Ts…. That will never happen…

It certainly does Adam, Richard Gere made me realise that years ago 😉

Costa for me too, only just mind you..

  44. agirlagunner says:

You take care now, Adam. I hope Mrs Adam enjoys the match.

rico, how can you say NO to barbecued ribs and… Spam (haha)?

Ginge, I’ve visited my spiritual home (eighth floor of SFA) and with great difficulty resisted the call to buy anything. 😀

  45. Micko says:

Hi agag, sounds like you need to find yourself a job if only to get a rest !

tsgh, be rude not to ! I’ve a good mate who gets me tickets for Basel, I’d love to do a Champions League game over there, the trouble is we never draw them.

  46. Joywedsjeff says:

Hi all… Time to remove tne n from Brendan.
Ts… Pity you have not been able to watch much football. I would have loved you to watch the Nigerian U17 team. They play like the invincibles and rumour has it that our scouts are watching the NO 10 kelechi. I learnt that they have been training together from age ten although they come from different academies. Big lesson for England.

  47. tsgh says:

🙂 Hi Joy, my Nigerian brother has been bugging me with the way the u-17’s are playing.

I am trying to get away from football especially Bundesliga now. It has become like La Liga, a predictable 2 horse race with 1 or 2 pretenders.lol

  48. tsgh says:

So so predictable… still 3-2 win

Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Rosicky, Arteta, Ramsey, Cazorla, Ozil, Giroud

  49. tsgh says:

LFC team v Arsenal: Mignolet, Flanagan, Cissokho, Toure, Skrtel, Sakho, Lucas, Gerrard, Henderson, Suarez, Sturridge

  50. tsgh says:

Arsenal subs: Fabianski, Vermaelen, Monreal, Jenkinson, Hayden, Akpom, Bendtner

Hayden makes bench ahead of Nico Yennaris and co…

  51. tsgh says:

Walcott, Podolski, Chamberlain, Wilshere, Flamini, Gnabry & Diaby* all missing. Not mentioning Ryo, Frimpong, Miquel and Park. It is a shame we never all our players fit…

  52. rico says:

That’s where we lack pace up front, great break away but no-one could get up front in support quick enough

  53. tsgh says:

A nervy game. Why has AW gone away from the double pivot into a single DM without Flamini?
Hopefully Sagna can stay on for 90 minutes on his 250th appearance…

  54. Gunnerdna says:

Ts, I can’t believe arsenal took the lead and still so nervous at home. AR needs to sit a bit more, but good half.

  55. agirlagunner says:

All these commentators sound so bitter. So annoying to have to listen to them begrudgingly praise Arsenal.

  56. tsgh says:

True Dna… our home atmosphere is not ideal but still.

I am impressed with SC19 today; he took the goal well; he is trying to go behind their midfield 5 instead of playing in between the lines…

  57. rico says:

We could be 3/4 up Gdna 😉

Just feel we are giving Suarez a little too much space in the middle, and not being ruthless enough up front..

Giroud is getting nothing from the ref…

  58. tsgh says:

I think TR07 will take it upon himself to do just you have stated after 65 minutes, Dna…

As I was saying earlier, his gung-ho attitude is going to make him into a ‘Song’.lol

  59. Gunnerdna says:

All arsenal needs to do is stay discipline and play on the counter. We need someone on the field who is willing to shout instruction.

  60. tsgh says:

Dna, counter-attacking is not going to work with a very technical dipper team who can keep the ball imho…

We should be exposing and exploiting their wing backs even without us having natural wingers… Flanagan and Cissoko are suspect but…

  61. rico says:

Totally agree Gdna, width and pace and we’d destroy this dipper side…

All too congested around the penalty area, get the ball out wide…

  62. Scott from Ozil says:

I am always happy Agag 🙂
2-0 up v this mob just makes it even better lol
Especially woth Stewart Robson commentating hahaha

  63. agirlagunner says:

Come on, Arsenal! Rosicky had great game. 🙂 Lively and always looked capable of doing something with the ball.

    True that, Scot. 😛

  64. Scott from Ozil says:

I tell ya, if i ever meet Robso, I will drop the bastard..
The most anti Arsenal person alive.
Who the hell would pay him to comment on an Arsenal game?

  65. tsgh says:

Scot, so robson followed you all the way to Oz.lol

SC19 is tired, good sub. Sagna was getting exposed and that could have led to another yellow.

  66. Scott from Ozil says:

    🙂 Ginge
Robson calls the games sometimes on Fox Sports.
He is so tedious to listen to, it is painful.
When we are winning, it’s worth it though 🙂
    Come on guys…finish this off!

  67. tsgh says:

Just when I am giving up on AW he goes and plays 6 defenders at the same time. 😛

Give Sagna a new contract… whatever he wants Arsene and Dickie Law.lol

  68. tsgh says:

What a win! An excellent team effort… 2 clean sheets in a row in the league and no Flamini… Yes.

TR07 and Arteta simply the best…

  69. Scott from Ozil says:

Rico, i have mever seen you use the F word hahahaha
What a result, and a sensational performance to boot.

  70. tsgh says:

Arteta man of the match. Fecking superb holding midfield display. Super Volante.

Is Santos better than Cissoko? lmfao

  71. rico says:

Agree Gdna, some are looking jaded in the last 10/15 mins…

Hope Gibbs isn’t a bad injury, only this week he’d been talking about his good injury free run, really feel for him…

  72. rico says:

What I admire about Ramsey today is he was average by his standards, he gave the ball away cheaply and got caught in possession a number of times but……

  73. tsgh says:

He does Scott, that is why I love the oldies in the squad… brain makes all the difference.

This performance shows that this team should realise they are a very good side and have self belief.

JW needs to be found a new role in this team imho too some of our better players raise their game when he is absent which is a shame because on paper he should just slot into this side but … 😉

  74. Gunnerdna says:

Rico, when the injured players return AW needs to do some serious rotating. Giroud miss a sitter but I’m not sure if the attackers can play without him, his work rate is second to none.

  75. rico says:

I don’t think they can Gdna, and it showed when Nik played on Tuesday, he gives us so much. He was unlucky today not to get a couple of goals..

Spot on re the rotation, AW really needs to pick his games right. Tough one..

Podolski could have a huge part to play in resting Giroud…

  76. tsgh says:

    Night Scott… no wet dreams.lol

true Dna, that assurance he gives… the yellows and the none clean sheets bother me but still a very useful cog…

  77. NashuaGunners says:

Just like Olympique Marseille, TW14 was hiding throughout the game but put the final nail in the coffin. Ramsey passes were horrible, but sealed the deal

  78. Joywedsjeff says:

Hmm.. I’m beginning to like Tony Adams. He predicted we will win 3-0 before KO. He also claims he presented Ramsey’s stats to Arsene while he assistant coach at portsmouth.
Is it just me or did Sturridge deliberately kick the ball out just to spite suarez

  79. Micko says:

How sweet does that league table look tonite.

Sets us up nicely for United next week, another cracker from Ramsey, he’s unstoppable at the moment, midfield won it for us today, Arteta in particular, man of the match for me.

  80. rico says:

Ng, Henry was the same in many games but when it came to the moment which mattered, he seldom disappointed…

  81. BrainwashedKev says:

    Bring on Dortmund….

Today is a seminal day for Arsenal.
Chelsea and Liverpool both drop 3 points.
    Arsenal go 5 points clear…

  82. rico says:

Off for an hour now, will be a pleasure writing this one up…

For any departing – have a good evening 🙂

  83. NashuaGunners says:

When was the last time we are on top of the league in November with 5 points clear???? Get us another striker AW, and the league is ours to loss.

  84. Micko says:

    tsgh, Guinness is my high.

Anyone see Almunia’s assist today, I really miss him, lol.

    Bring on the Krauts !!!

  85. tsgh says:

    2008 Ng…

If I was AW, I will be looking for another TR07 and Ramsey. Top teams have a Ramsey or Vidal.

    Ramsey= Frank Rijkaard= complete midfielder

He should give players like Yennaris a chance I will say… Fergie dedicated his last CL win to Darren Fletcher and not Rooney or Ronaldo. Why?

  86. tsgh says:

If AW cant trust Aneke, Frimpong, Yennaris etc then he should be bidding for Gundagun asap. He has refused a contract extension with bvb…

Turkish origins just like Ozil too..

  87. tsgh says:

Ng, I like Mulumbu… not sure about Diame and his health etc.

I wanted Mulumbu, Cabaye or Joshua Guilavogui or Schneiderlin last summer but we got Ramsey.lol

  88. tsgh says:

Rewatching the game for my stats submissions…. its amazing how TR07 and MA08 controlled the tempo of the game… both should be made youth team coaches imho..

  89. tsgh says:

Milan losing again.. how the mighty have fallen… all hail Gerv and AS Roma. The best team in Europe it seems.lol

  90. rico says:

I seriously worry though for our players fitness and they’ll all have to get well rested before Wednesday…

AW has confirmed that his priority is the PL and CL so no resting…

  91. tsgh says:

You may be quoting some in future though. lol

I wonder what the Everton fans who thought they had ‘stiffed’ us for Arteta’s fee are thinking now?

  92. Micko says:

tsgh, we got their best player for nowt in the summer, of course they’re gonna struggle !
    Agag, goes without saying.
rico, look forward to your post in the morning.
Have a great evening everyone and you kev.
Say, we are top of the league, say we are top of the league.
    Up the Gunners !!!

  93. tsgh says:

At least TR07 got a rest and hopeful is not injured…

Just my ‘twisted’ view here… I strongly believe that so far as JW is not started midweek, we will be fine for him to make a deserved cameo…

  94. GunnerDNA says:

Club-record signing Mesut Özil (@MesutÖzil1088) was impressed by the speed of Arsenal’s game: “That was Football in formula 1 speed. It’s wonderful to be a gunner. Thanks all.” lol

  95. Adam says:

Back from the game. Great atmosphere. The crowd lifted the team today.
Reading the in-game comments it seems Liverpool looked better on a TV than they did live.
    Have a good evening :).

  96. Adam says:

    Rico. Really? 🙂
It was a great game live. The way Ozil picked Ramsey with the chipped pass happened right in front of us. Even when he isn’t at his best he is a pleasure to watch. Kos was really, really good today as was Arteta. In fact I congratulate all the boys. We really felt like a club today with great feedback between the team and the crowd.
    Loved it.

  97. Wavy says:

Does Cazorla get an assist for playing a one two with the post and then scoring the first goal? My Fantasy Football Team will be looking good in the morning!,

What a result! I have to admit I feared the worst. Got it wrong. Le Cef got the selection, the tactics, the motivation, just everthing right. Wenger is the MAN,!!! Not to mention Ramsey and all therest pf the gang……….bring on Dortmand

Just got home , celebration drink tomorrow.

Wavy :- Does Cazorla get an assist for playing a one two with the post and then scoring the first goal? quote.

He needed a better angle for the volley. Got to look good on MOTD, just in case Hanson is watching.

  99. potter says:

AGAG quote :- If we had bought Suarez, we’d be winning everything!!!

As we left the stadium they were checking Koscielny’s pockets to see if they could find him.

  100. Wavy says:

Missed the second half, just watching it now. Very noticeable, a coach, somewhere has reminded the present crop of players that they should only touch the ball, when in posession TWICE.
    It’s a joy to watch!
I’ve got my Arsenal back……..well nearly.
Where did they go….four seven years?

Will we win some silver polish this year…..yes I think we will!

Bendtner to Hull or Stoke for £1m in January.???
    Believable.

    Vermaelen to Newcastle on loan.??
    Implausible.

    Lewandowski to Chelsea??
    Probable.
But it would really piss me off.

  102. ozgunner says:

just watched the replay – well done lads deserved winners. Could have had three for four with the Giroud chances and Ozil’s. Poor call from the ref again to not allow their play on and goal (second one of those this season) but best team won without doubt. Thought Arteta was outstanding again 106 passes 100 hit their target and plenty of tackles won. Suarez seemed right off colour interestingly, although Kos was also very good.

  103. ozgunner says:

actually watching the replays again, our players clearly stopped on their goal so no real proof they would have scored at all

  104. potter says:

That’s the problem to the rule, the ref had blown and our players knew it was a yellow and had played to the whistle. Liverpool can’t take a , so no goal.quick one without the ref’s permission

  105. Adam says:

Morning Potter, Rico and all. Liverpool were quite happy to play to the whistle while Gibbs was injured in their penalty area. They made no effort to put the ball out of play.

  106. ozgunner says:

correct Adam we see this a lot with every club – really needs better understanding this rule – I saw a game in Spain where a player was booked for kicking the ball out due to an injury – silly.

  107. Scott from Ozil says:

    Morning all.
They can make up all the excuses they like, But Liverpool were dominated, and nothing will change that 🙂

  108. ozgunner says:

i saw the interview with Rogers and he seemed to take it well and acknowledged we were the better side in fairness to him.

  109. ozgunner says:

Toure had been giving it some lip during the week as well. His effort to get in the way of Ramsey’s shot was appalling. We have quite the record against this lot over recent years, no change there then.
