Morning all.

It’s official, Bernd Leno has left the building. He’s now a Fulham player and I wish him all the best although it wouldn’t surprise me if this time next year he’s looking for a new PL club. No disrespect to Fulham but surviving in this league isn’t going to be easy. Nottingham Forest have signed something like twelve players this summer and unless they all hit the ground running, they too are likely to find things tough. Bournemouth are back in the Premier League too which is annoying because they prevent Arsenal from being top of the league table before a ball is kicked. Lol

Charlie Patino is heading off on loan for the season with Championship club Blackpool. The Championship is a tough league so it’s a good move for our young midfielder. Fabrizio Romano reports that Galatasaray are waiting for Lucas Torreira to make a decision as to whether his wife wants a move to Turkey. Another exit on the cards is Pablo Mari as he’s rumoured to be in talks with Monza.

Honestly, regarding the player exits, it matters not what name as I wish them all the very best. Just because things might not have gone the way they’d hoped at Arsenal, it doesn’t mean they’re bad players in my opinion. I really hope Nicolas Pepe can find a new club, Hector Bellerin too.

One player not going anywhere is Granit Xhaka. There’s a really good interview with him on Arsenal.com.

I love this bit:

One of the highs from last season certainly for fans and yourself would have been your ‘Xhaka boom!’ against Manchester United. How does that rank among your best moments in an Arsenal shirt?

Yeah, after what happened, everything between the fans, the people and me I think this was one of the nicest moments since I’m in this football club. After scoring as well, the feedback, the moment in the stadium, I felt very good, very happy. But as well, happy for the three points we got on that day.

Have the majority of fans forgiven him yet for “that” incident at Selhurst Park I wonder. I hope so because whether we agree or not, he’s likely to one of Mikel Arteta’s key players again this season. He’s still only 30 years old and his experience is priceless I think. Especially in such a young team. He might not be the perfect midfield partner for Thomas Partey but are we better with him in the team than without? I’m sure there’s a statistic out there somewhere which suggests we are. Just. Lol

The Premier League season is fast approaching. What can this Arsenal team achieve this season?

The signings that we made give us something more than winning, they give us the mentality of how to win and the quality, of course. It’s like a puzzle, you need the quality, of course, but if it doesn’t fit in with the team, it’s very difficult to achieve something. The signings all fit very well in the team, year by year we get much better. It’s easier to speak than to do it, for sure, but I have a very good feeling that we will be ready for the start against Crystal Palace away and let’s see and hope that we can achieve the goals that we have.

I imagine the goal this season is a top four finish at least but of course, that won’t be the aim. The aim will be to win the league, to push hard week in and week out to really challenge the top two clubs of last season. I really hope we can and we do.

See you in the comments.
