Demba Ba set to sign on the 1st Jan? Merry Christmas Gooners…

December 25, 2012

Morning all.

Apparently, Canal+ have reported that Demba Ba is all set to sign for us on the 1st of January 2013.

Well I’m not sure where they get that idea from, or even if they have got it right, he’s what we need. Of course position wise, we need a ruthless goal scorer and he certainly knows where the back of the net is, but he’s got a weak knee and the way our luck is with injuries, he’d sign and then get crocked.

As we all know though, when the price is right, Wenger is in there so who knows.

But all that is for another day, today is about one thing and no-one needs me to explain what that is.

That message goes out to each and every one of you here on Highbury House and I hope that however you celebrate this occasion, you have a wonderful time with your family, friends and other loved ones.

At the same time though, let’s spare a thought for those who can’t be together today for one reason or another. Christmas can be a joyful time for many, but it can also be sad and tough for many others…..

Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, have a lovely day all…

Merry Christmas everyone………

A Christmas Message from an Arsenal Legend…..

December 25, 2011

Thanks to our regular Highbury House Blogger Lee, we have a special message from Frank McLintock to all at Highbury House.

And a Happy Christmas to you Frank......

Yep, it’s for real, no editing or messing around with photo’s…

Thanks Frank and a Merry Christmas to you too….

In fact, that message goes out to all and I hope that however you celebrate this occassion, you have a wonderful time with your families and friends.

At the same time though, let’s spare a thought for those who can’t be together today for one reason or another. Christmas can be a great time for many, but it can also be tough for others…..

Also, let’s not forget the reason we all celebrate this day, it’s not just about the big bird for lunch or the next best ipod or ipad hidden by sparkly paper, nor is it about just how soft the brussels are served. ;)

This is what it’s really about!

This is Christmas.....

See, it’s all about the birth of a young man, and rumour has it, Arsene Wenger tried to sign him up at a very young age as he was reported to be ‘something special’…. ;)

Well, he was wasn’t he…..

That’s it guys and gals, all that is left for me to do is wish you all:

Merry Christmas

Love from rico

Few tips for Santa this Christmas, add yours….

December 24, 2010

Christmas Presents for the lads, hope it makes you smile :)

The festive season is upon us again and in all honesty we have not done to bad up to now. We are still in all the Cup competitions and  second in the league, remarkable when you consider the ups and downs of the season so far. We have watched our closest and most bitter rivals climb their way up the table having given them an early three-point Christmas present. We have also donated the same gift to the team at Old Trafford which puts them at the top of the tree.

However, whilst being very benevolent we have still showed we  have managed to stay up with the big boys and now we have to go and  fight our corner.

We have tough games coming up and some may doubt that the New Year wish we all have for our fine club, (which i wont tell, because if you tell, it wont come true) will bear the fruits that we have worked for.

As for presents, this is the time of year where Santa has had a year to do his secret rounds and now he leaves what he believes to be the right gift for the right person.

If I were Santa, these would be my gifts to our players:-

A. Wenger – A Tactical Assistant
P,Rice – A Personality
L. Fabianski – Patience
Almunia – New Club
Szczesny Wrist supports
Sagna – Crossing ability
Squillaci – springy boots
Koscielny- Foresight
Clichy – Faster release and a cross
Vermaelen – Speedy recovery
Song  – New hair dye
Fabregas – New belief
Nasri  – Roll neck football shirt
Walcott –  A central role
Wilshere  – Cleaner character
Arshavin – Diet & fitness book
Van Persie –  Sharpness
Chamakh – Determination
Bendtner  – Humility
Djourou –  Health cover
Eboue  – A chance

There are I know, many more, so why not add your suggestion in the comments, it’s just a bit of fun at a very slow time.

Have a good one….
