Four back for Sunday & Fabianski offered a new three year deal but he’s off…

Morning all.

Not a lot of news around today. The newspapers continue to get stuck into Nicklas Bendtner which is only to be expected really and to be honest, thoroughly deserved. Apparently he’s facing a good telling off from Arsenal!

Arsene Wenger has given an update on who is fit to face Tottenham on Sunday:

Kieran Gibbs has a test tomorrow(today) but I am hopeful that Nacho Monreal will be fit. They both have a good chance.

Kallstrom joins the normal training group today and Sanogo too. I will have to decide if Kallstrom is OK to be in the squad on Sunday. I will see how he looks, it is not impossible.

Aaron Ramsey was expected to return but that’s been put on hold:

We have had to defer his comeback to full training a little so he is not available. He is having difficulties in the final stages of his rehab. It looks to be short-term.

So a bit of good news that’s for sure and I’m quite looking forward to seeing Kallstom play. There must be a reason Arsene Wenger signed him up in January…… Mustn’t there?

Sunday’s opposition played last night and took a battering at home by Benfica in the Thursday night club football and apparently they picked up a few injuries. Kyle Walker and Sandro are reported to be doubts for the derby. Adebayor and Lennon also picked up little knocks so fingers crossed they’ll be missing to.

Sunday is a must win game for us and Lukas Podolski is ready for it:

I’ve always liked derbies. When I played in Munich, or Cologne or even here in Arsenal I always liked derbies because there’s a special atmosphere and it’s a special fight.

We want to go there, get the three points and drive back home. This is important for us. We must fight for the club, for the fans and I think this is an important game so I look forward to Sunday now.

I’m looking forward to it too……

In the gossip pages:

The Daily Star report that Stan Kroenke sees Roberto Martinez as the man to replace Arsene Wenger in the future. Clearly they have been reading my pleas on here. lol

The Daily Telegraph suggest that Fabianski has been offered a three year contract extension worth £50,000 a week but he’s turned it down and finally, The Daily Mail are repeating yesterdays rumour about Valencia striker Francisco Alcacer.

All good stuff eh!

That’s your lot for another day……

  1. You have to smile at Tim Sherwood, he’s very honest in his interviews…

  2. hahaha loved this twitter post Tim Sherwood is so incompetent he should be banned from even playing football manager

  3. AW confirms Ozil is out for 3-6 weeks. Hope it’s just the three…

  4. not sure he’ll be that missed Rico TBH – Ox and Rosicky should get more game time and that is good news

  5. Morning all
Martinez for mr too, Rico, if Wenger, when judged in May comes up short and he feels obliged to walk.

  6. I have to disagree Oz, but at least he’ll be back for the FA Cup semi..

Just you and me then Wavy ;)

  7. Looks like it’s back t the bench for TV is Monreal is back, and Gibbs is looking likely to be fit too.

If Kallstrom passes fit, does AW throw him into a NLD or stick with Arteta and Flamini?

  8. I can’t see Wenger leaving myself. But the Catalunyan windbag?

  9. I’m nipping off with Fido for a quick walk. Back in a bit…

  10. you feel Ozil brings more to Arsenal than Rosicky or the Ox Rico?

  11. Fabianski offered 50 grand while Chzezesney is on 80 and they wonder why he said no, Even Bendtner was on 55 grand and all he does is embarass the club. I suppose we will have to buy the Italian that has yet to put a pair of gloves on yet, who is probably on more than Fabianski

  12. Adam – we already know the end of season speech, he’s going nowhere mate, i agree

  13. sp1 agree on that call as well – we wait all this time till he finally starts to show something and then…

  14. I wouldn’t mind Martinez, but another alternative, Moyes.
    Flame suit on ;-)

I think he is too decent a chap for Manure, but with more welcoming here, could perform like he did at Everton. Board would love him, because he didn’t exactly rush into the transfer market in January.

  15. we could loose a lot of talent this summer – the exit names are increasing

  16. Yeh your right Oz, pitty we couldnt find a few ex Rugby players with talent, at least they can take a thump or two without going down like heaps of shit.

  17. i have said this a lot mate but i truly believe the training needs looking at, this has been going on way to long and we seem to suffer far more than most

  18. Not saying that Oz, jut saying we’ll miss him…

  19. Moyes?
    Surely a joke Andrew? :)

  20. Ah, I do hope you are kidding ;)

  21. You have a point re Fabianski Sp.

Once gone, I don’t think it will be long before he cements his place as the Polish number one keeper, not on recent form.

And, I hope that should we get to the final of the FA Cup, he is in goal.

  22. Just seen Sherwoods Benfica interview – there is something refreshing about him.. kind of

  23. my concern with him is he simply does not have the required style of players around him to star – i hope Wenger doesn’t start messing with his game as we know he can do. He’s very good at what he does, although there are big games questions no doubt now. Either build a forward line around him or move him on. I suspect we will do neither and we’ll have another AA on our hands if we’re not careful.

  24. I think he does, if they are played as shown against Everton but of course, we certainly need to add more pace to our squad in the summer…

Ox, Rosicky and Santi can all move a bit quick when they want to..

  25. Bloomin heck, Ozil played a lot of the first half on Tuesday whilst injured…

    How can that happen…

  26. more questions Rico – i agree

  27. not really run through the line players though are they Rico? Maybe Ox might become one but i think Wenger has other plans for him

  28. off for a while – dinner time

  29. adam, rico, Moyes will be available soon and I think our Board will like his shrewdness. Come on, a year ago at Everton, his stock was quite high!

  30. Unfortunately that transfer fee looks like a bit of a weight round his neck. With the right players and tactics(?) I think he could be great but not in this current set-up. A more flexible manager with very different ideas about transitional play perhaps.
I wonder what Josh Kroenke thinks about it all.

  31. I think we will go on wondering for some time what Josh thinks?

  32. There are more Botox opportunities in London for sure.
Andrew, I think that Martinez has shown us all what Moyes is about.
If you want a wild ride with a sinister subplot, then Simeone is your man. Klopp is another nutter. Both of their teams are massive cheats and a lot don’t want to see that. Success is not guaranteed but it isn’t under Wenger is it?

  33. I hope not Ah, look how he’s struggling to manage the big players and big games at Man Utd.. He can stay there as far as I am concerned…

And Martinez is doing so much better with Everton than Moyes did and with not too many changes in players…

  34. I suspect Josh thinks we have got it all Adam….

  35. Just watched the Ian Wright programme, thankfully a box of tissues were nearby…

    What a guy….

  36. Just under 43,000 tickets allocated for the semi-final…

  37. please, please just win the semi

  38. If we can win the cup, I will forgive every decision Wenger takes that makes me angry …. for a fortnight

  39. :) Ah, that long??

  40. Good afternoon Lady Rico and all…

Good read as always… I guess I have 2 days of post to catch up on… :-)

    stevepalmer1 at 9:57 am… spot on Sir!!

Wenger’s record at Shite Hurt Lane…

    P17 W3 D10 L4 F27 A26 AFC lost 3 of last 4 visits…

Guess how many of those games Dean was in charge off….

I will leave it there before Micko says I am paranoid :P

  41. We know Simeone is a Capo of the Ndrangheta syndicate… ;)

  42. Afternoon Ts and thanks…

We are going to win on Sunday!

  43. Don’t worry about Micko , tell us anyway.

  44. Just like the 12.45 ko times, we have to finally win one with Dean in charge…

  45. Boring Boring Lucky Chelsea

  46. Now I’d never of guessed but it seems Ts is paranoid….!

  47. NLD Memories… The rich tapestry of the life of a Gooner eh?

1967, beating those shitbags 4-0 at Highbury was my NLD debut…
What a fcuking great day, even if I was a bit awestruck by it at the time…

    Personal favourite was Christmas 1978.
Up top of the Three-decker at the Slum with my Dad and Uncle, surrounded by Scummers…
Ardiles this, Ardiles that, prior to the game.
Liam Brady, fresh from gobbed on by a mob of Scummers, just fcuking destroyed those wankers…
Alan Sunderland grabbed a wonderful hat trick and Frankie Stapleton got another.
    What a brilliant Christmas that was… :-D

  48. Charlie Nicholas inspired 4-2 win circa 82 or 83, Raphael Meade got two and Charlie got two crackers.
The Scummers were so full of themselves before the game.
Shut them up good and proper…

  49. Afternoon All
    Afternoon Rico, nice post…

  50. Afternoon Kev and Wath..

I hope we spank them good and hard on Sunday!!

  51. Were you at the slum Kev when Eammon suprised Pat with the big red book ? That was around 83 as well.
“Pat Jennings, this is your life”

    Hiya WATH… that is a sensitive subject… :-)

Dean claims to be a bin-dipper though… He disqualified himself from refereeing the 2006 Cup Final v west Ham when appointed…

  53. hello!
Benfica is must better then totts.
Hope we win there too. The same score will be nice!

  54. I remember Mugger Meade Kev.

  55. I agree Rico… we will win.. and we must win…

    Another Deano dubious refereed game…
Penalty kick given against Laurent Koscielny for a Regular foul on Edin Dzeko and then a subsequent Red… Arsenal Vs Manchester City (0 – 2) [13/01/2013]

  56. tsgh, sorry to be picky but I think you’ll find Gervinho was to blame for the Bradford result, very unfair to lump that one on Mike Dean !

  57. I’d echo that view Micko. How many did he miss??

  58. Adam, did you know Klopp has something in common with rooney, both have had hair transplants, clearly went straight to their brains, probably explains some of their captain caveman moments.

  59. That’s got me thinking about Alan Pardew now !

  60. Just seen Moyes interview. Adam, you are right, he’s been on the botox again ;)

  61. Yeah Mick, not sure about the game? Could have been the 4-2?

Been to that dump so many times, but nothing beats beating those scumbags on their own patch…

  62. Praying for another beating of them on Sunday Kev….

  63. Adam, 43,000 tickets for Wembley I believe…

Get to the Final and that’ll shrink to about 31,000…

  64. I told you Rico. But you never believed me. :)

  65. I didn’t Adam but my goodness, it showed today… ;)

  66. Micko. They should have bought the Stan Kroenke ‘Businessman’ model.

  67. Does he look as if someone has ironed his face? Like John Henry.

  68. Oh well, I’m having an early departure, after all it is Friday night….

Wishing you all a very good evening…

Night Kev, Adam, Ts, Micko and anyone else reading…
    :)

  69. Nearly Adam, very nearly… ;)

    Gone now…

  70. NLD Memories… The rich tapestry of the life of a Gooner eh?

1971 at their place was good and probably will never be beaten for me Kev. Loads of Arsenal on the shelf giving it large.

  71. Bit late getting back adam..yer I was..park lane end.

    Sorry off out pub.

  72. Morning all….

  73. Morning Rico.
I saw Moyes on TV last night after you mentioned him. :)

  74. Morning Adam, I bet you spotted the difference ;)

  75. New post up now…
