At last the Arsenal make us proud, 5.1 to the Arsenal and i was there to see our revival After walking from Finsbury Park station to the twelve pins Public house, a Gooner pub and a couple of pints we made our way to the stadium. Myself and the Mrs are no spring chickens so we took our time and stopped to get our breath at one of the numerous burger vans before making our way to gate N in the clock end upper tier. We were absolutely knackered by the time we got to our seat but the view was spectacular. The game kicked off, and the talking too from Arsene Wenger looked like it had worked, we looked more interested than i’d seen us look in the past, but to my dismay West ham scored first, Jack Collinson, but what a goal, even i had to say Christ what a blinder Czezesney was well beaten.
We battled on and our heads were up and i felt at any minute we would get our goal, and finaly we did, Poldi recieved the ball and cracked what i can only say was a cannon shot which crashed in the net, we went balmy, we were back, and i could only see us going on to win, I have to be honest we were sitting High up and it was hard to distinguish who was who, but i recognised the body movements of the players which made it slightly easier.
Our passing was very crisp we looked comfortable for the first time in a long time. West Ham looked as if they were being outplayed, we finished the half 1.1
The second half started and we looked as if we were up for business, we looked in control and i knew a goal was coming, Poldi was involved in everything and he made the pass for our next from Oliver Giroud again the crowd went crazy Girouds name was being sung by the fans and what a great feeling it was. Little while later Poldi again set up Santi Cazorla a tricky bit of footwork saw the ball run over the line again the crowd went mad by this time the crowd were expectant the songs aimed at the West Ham supporter down below us was excitement personified, but we were still pushing forward Giroud got our next from a little one two from Theo and Oliver steered it in , I couldn’t see Wenger down the side but i knew he must have a big grin on his face, and that in itself makes a change our goals for the night finished with a goal from Theo , He took his goal well and is started to earn the huge wage he’s on but i have to say the Arsenal earned their money last night , a clash of heads between Sagna and Daniel Potts resulted with a twelve minute stoppage while they sorted out a special stretcher for the injured potts after that the guys had had enough both teams were looking for the end and finally the ref blew his whistle and all i could say was were on our way back a cold night but a great result. What a difference when the team plays with purpose and tempo and players are making great runs off the ball, it allows quicker passes and the kind of football that other teams can’t live with.
Let’s hope this is the start of a good run of form and give the players a big lift.
Ramsey had a very solid game in his proper position and lets hope Arsene doesn’t waste him out wide ever again. Giroud had a very good game and really put himself about, he is getting a lot of stick but 8 goals 11 assists is a bloody good return for his first season and lastly Pod probably had his best game for the Arsenal. Lets hope that continues as well.
