‘New signing’ to make his debut today against Sunderland?

March 5, 2011

Yep, it’s true, Aaron Ramsey, who’s return will be classed as being ‘like a new signing’, could make his return today against Sunderland as Wenger has confirmed he’s in the squad.

If he’s ready to play, I hope he’s in the first team, not just the squad!

Cesc Fabregas, Theo Walcott, Thomas Vermaelen, Robin van Persie, Fabianski and Alex Song are all out of todays clash with Sunderland and Koscielny will have a fitness test this morning.

Sunderland also have their own long list of injuries, with Zenden, Cattermole, Gordon, Onunoha, Wellbeck, Campbell and Meyler all out today, Gordon’s absence means will continue in goal.

We have won just one of our last five league meetings with Sunderland (W1, D3, L1)but when Sunderland last beat us at home it was back in 1983

We are unbeaten in our last ten league matches, winning seven and drawing three, in fact we sit top of the form table for February whilst poor old Sunderland sit bottom having lost their last four matches.

That is not to be laughed at though as they have been to Chelsea and won and took a point off both Fulham and the Tiny Totts at their own ground so we will still need to be at our very best and again, those stepping up for the injured need to prove their worth.

I’m not going to guess the team, I’ll leave that to Wenger but whoever plays needs to look at the shirt they are wearing and play with pride….

We all know Old Red Nose has appealed his FA Charge of Improper Conduct following his loss to the Chavs last weekend, well I for one am glad he has. If for once the FA ‘grow some’, they will soon realise that the appeal is frivolous to say the least and give him a few extra matches added on to his ‘sentence’. He is facing a minimum of a four match ban in any case! Would be nice to go to OT with the red nose glowing in the crowd!

Back to today, we have a chance to really put some pressure on the Mancs, if we can get the three points we will sit just one point behind them they don’t play until tomorrow and that’s a tricky fixture at Anfield.

We’ve had the door opened for us, let’s make sure we get one foot through it by battering Sunderland in front our home fans today.

Have a good day all……
